Will ‘Gemini’ prove to be another ‘Wonder’ horse?

Dancing Gemini ep – 4.30
represents a ‘Star’ bet for the Epsom Derby over one and a half miles of a forecast ‘good to soft’ pristine surface today and there are certainly an inordinate number of boxes ticked for this Camelot colt which is trained by Roger Teal, well-known for his exploits with top sprinter, Oxted!
This is always a truly great spectacle which used to be dominated in the days of yore by Lester Piggott who died last year in Switzerland aged 86.
Every article on the ‘Worlds’ greatest horserace’ wrote itself; it’s been a pleasure over many decades with the ‘politics’ every bit as good as the great event itself; ‘2024’ has been extremely intriguing, sadly my absolute ‘special’ Economics wasn’t supplemented after winning the York Derby Trial last month by six lengths in a time which would win this particular great spectacle nine times out of ten!
Why William Haggas didn’t activate the clause for supplementation we’ll probaly never know but all the time when eulogising about Economics I was always mindful about the obvious each-way chance of Dancing Gemini and would have highlighted both.
I’ll never forget the way Dancing Gemini stormed clear to win unchallenged with a tremendous burst over at Doncaster as a two-year-old, hitting a ‘WoW’ time-handicap mark which commanded respect; juveniles don’t always train on but on this score there is no problem whatsoever.
Recently Dancing Gemini participated as a 25/1 ho-hoper in the French 2000 Guineas at Longchamp and finished a neck second; what a seasonal ‘pipe-opener’ given a huge journey for a classic!
Can you just imagine the esteem in which Roger holds Dancing Gemini?
City Of Troy has remained favourite since his flop in the English 2000 Guineas, why?
Aidan O’Brien’s charge is rated 124, clearly superior on his 2023 exploits but it’s impossible to overlook his last effort and two stable-companions might do better along with Ambiente Friendly, so impressive at Lingfield and strongly-fancied but, the time-figure could be flattering.
In summary Dancing Gemini does meet median requirement full on and it’s all written in the ‘Star’ signs for June!
Far from the madding crowd a ‘Bumper’ over two miles of ‘good to soft’ Worcester looks well within capabilities of twice-race
Wiltshire Wonder wr – 1.45
trained by Archie Watson whose proficient wife Brodie Hampson partners this Wootton Bassett gelding; her 3lbs allowance is an extra plus but I’m just wary of Lady Henrietta, just having a sighter at Southwell last month when shaping nicely. Might be worth a small saver.
Over the same distance half an hour later
Highlands Legacy wr – 2.20
is a stand out for a shallow Novices’ Hurdle; don’t oppose!

This incredible week recorded yet another ‘System’ winner DOUBLE DRAGON, 9/2, from bigger odds!
