Flight Plan
Flight Plan will be the ride of Daniel Tudhope in the Group Three this weekend. The Karl Burke runner was well-beaten on his return to action over a mile last month when last in the G1 Lockinge. However, he’s down in grade this week, and a return to seven furlongs isn’t likely to see him that far away.
Bless Him
Ten-year-old veteran Bless Him will be the runner for David Simcock this weekend, with Jamie Spencer taking the ride. The runner will be making his 42nd start on the turf, but he is winless since July 2022. Was an eye-catching third on his return, just a neck behind The Wizard Of Eye over seven furlongs at Ascot.
Jumby
Charles Bishop will be aboard Jumby for trainer Eve Johnson Houghton on Saturday. The six-year-old was a disappointing 18th at Ascot on his return to action when finishing ten lengths behind The Wizard of Eye. A typically consistent performer in these kind of races, and was the winner of this race 12 months ago.
Noble Dynasty
Charlie Appleby’s runner this weekend is Noble Dynasty, who will be the ride of Pat Dobbs. The six-year-old was an impressive winner on his previous start when beating English Oak by two lengths in handicap company. He boasts solid form in the book, recording wins over this trip at Newmarket and Lingfield.
Pogo
Kieran Shoemark teams with Charles Hills in the John of Gaunt Stakes this weekend with Pogo. The eight-year-old looked better than ever when finishing a very close second behind Shartash over this trip in the Spring Trophy Stakes last month. The ratings indicate that he shouldn’t be far away.
Point Lynas
Callum Rodriguez will be aboard Point Lynas this weekend for trainer Edward Bethell. The five-year-old returned to action with a victory over a mile last month, beating Northern Express by a neck. Drops back down in trip for this, and could have each-way claims.
Popmaster
Popmaster will be the ride of Saffie Osbourne today. The Ed Walker runner was only seventh at Ascot on his previous effort, which came after taking sixth on his return over six furlongs. Has interesting claims on his very best form, but would likely need some cut in the ground.
Quinault
Stuart Williams-trained Quinault is the ride of Richard Kingscote this weekend. The four-year-old was eighth over seven furlongs at Newmarket on his previous outing, and ended last season ahead of Popmaster over the same trip at Ascot. He was largely consistent before that effort, winning over six furlongs on five occasions.
Ramazan
Richard Fahey’s runner in the race on Saturday is Ramazan, who will be the ride of Billy Garritty. He produced a strong effort on his latest start at Ascot, finishing ahead of Bless Him, Popmaster, and Jumby to finish an unlucky second over seven furlongs. Looks a good chance to get his day soon after four straight runner-up finishes.
Tiber Flow
Tom Marquand will be aboard Tiber Flow for the William Haggas team on Saturday. The five-year-old was a faller when making little impression in the G2 Clipper Stakes last month. He has won twice from nine efforts in stakes company, but it wouldn’t really appear that he’s crying out for seven furlongs.
Witch Hunter
Witch Hunter will have Sean Levey aboard this weekend. The Richard Hannon runner was well-beaten over a mile in the G1 Lockinge on his previous outing, and was third over course and distance earlier in the season in the Spring Trophy Stakes. However, there’s some high class form in the book, which includes his win over this trip in the Buckingham Palace Stakes and G2 Hungerford Stakes.
Sirona
Oisin Murphy takes the ride on the only filly in the race this weekend, with Sirona representing the David Menuisier yard. The four-year-old was an encouraging third on her return to action at Lingfield last month. She held her own over this trip last season after dropping back down from a mile and three to win a handicap at Ayr.
