4. IBILI D’OCCAGNES – Consistent for the most part and boasts sound references under the saddle. Absent since his disuqlaifcation (when barefoot) over 2850m at Laval on 7 February

5. IXOR DE L’ITON – Confirmed in this configuration (barefoot) and has sound references under the saddle, including a reassuring last-start 6th over 2700m at Graignes on 24 May. Place chance

6. GALOPIN DE POTES – Sparked improvement in his third comeback appearance of the year to finish 5th over 2900m in a harness race at Bourigny on 2 June. Lacks references under the saddle

7. HYPERION DU BOCAGE – Has one victory and one place in from 3 appearances under the saddle this spring. Finished an encouraging 3rd in a 2800m mounted race at Chartres on 2 June

8. ILIEN DE VRIE – Delicate but has already revealed sufficient means to play a leading role in a race of this nature. Absent since finishing 10th at Vincennes in a 2700m mounted race on 9 February

9. IGOLO – Confirmed in this configuration (barefoot) and has sound references under the saddle. Refined his condition with a satisfactory 7th on turf at Alencon on 12 May – keep safe

10. HURACAN – Disqualified in his last 3 outings (the first of those under the saddle). Reverts to the mounted code after his disqualification in a harness race on 2 June at Saint-Omer

Summary: It has proved difficult to follow enigmatic/complicated HATE YOU BEYLEV (2) with any degree of confidence. However, he retains sufficient means to win a race of this nature and needs only to avoid disqualification to play a leading role. IGOLO (9) is likely to pick up the pieces should the selection fluff his lines. ILIEN DE VRIE (8) isn’t underestimated eiether on his return after a break. HYPERION DU BOCAGE (7), wise under the saddle, and IXOR DE L’ITON (5) are potential place-getters.

1. HARIBO DU DOME – Honest veteran who rarely wins (just 2 victories from 64 starts) but deserves to be rewarded for consistency. Finished 2nd in both starts last month, the latest (shod) over 2900m at Amiens on 27 May

2. GAMER DE BULIERE – Inconsistent but seldom finishes far off the mark. Finished 7th (shod) over 2725m at Graignes on 24 May but could have more to offer racing unshod in front on this occasion

3. IOUP LA BOUM – Unreliable but did perform very well to finish 4th in a similar contest at Vincennes on 14 May. Keep safe

4. GRANADOS – Has made no impression in any of his 3 comeback outings this year, so is hard to recommend. Finished 9th at Lisieux over 2675m on 13 May

5. GERONIMO STARDUST – Off the boil and has yet to find the frame in a dozen 2024 appearances. However, he could resurface returned to the amateur category

6. GOFARA – Confirmed under these conditions in this configuration (barefoot) and regained momentum recently with 3 starts last month – the latest (6th) in a stronger race/field over 2725m at Lisieux on 26 May. Will be a factor

7. GOOD WATER – Unplaced in all three 2024 appearances and has regressed with each outing – the latest (11th) over 2850m at this venue on 27 February

8. GENERAL SLY – Has made no impression in each of 3 comeback appearances this year – the latest (9th) in a 2825m claimer at Bernay on 27 May. Improvement needed

9. GRACE DU KASTEL – Veteran mare with very limited ability (1 win from 93 starts) and uninspiring recent form. Others preferred

10. HAMMERLESS – Disqualified in all three appearances this year, the latest over 3000m at Le Neubourg on 19 May. Overlook

11. GOPTION MONTAVAL – Finished an improved/encouraging 3rd in a 2625m claimer at Châlons-en-Champagne on 25 May. Dark horse

Summary: HARIBO DU DOME (1) has won only twice in his career but has never seemed so close to adding to his tally, having finished 2nd
in both starts last month. He deserves to be rewarded for his consistency and gets the nod here ahead of IOUP LA BOUM (3) and GOFARA (6), who are best equipped to challenge. GAMER DE BULIERE (2), who is rarely unshod, and GENERAL SLY (8) complete the shortlist.

C7 – PRIX DES ECURIES DES PRES LOUVET – 2150m (a1m1/4) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 23,000

1. LYNYRD SKYNYRD – Well-bred colt by Ready Cash out of a Group I winner in Italy. Disqualified on debut retains the confidence of his trainer Philippe Allaire and would’ve gained plenty from that valuable experience

2. L’ESPOIR DES BAUX – Debut winner at Lisieux in April and took a big step up in class when finishing 7th over 2150m at Enghien on 2 May. Will find this easier

3. LIO DE PIENCOURT – Nantes winner over 2275m in February when beating a filly, trained by Philippe Allaire, that has won since at Vincennes. Ought to improve after a much-needed comeback outing (7th) at Graignes on 30 May

4. LOTUS PAULOIS – Delicate colt, sanctioned in 3 of his 6 appearances. Tends to acquit himself well competitively when avoiding disqualification – finished 6th over 2450m at Caen on 18 March

5. LOYAL DU CHENE – Finished an improved/encouraging 4th over 2800m at Chartres on 8 May. Could have a role to play if building on that progress

6. LADY OH – Delicate but has already revealed sufficient means to play a leading role in a race of this nature if avoiding disqualification. Sanctioned at Le Croisé-Laroche over 2700m on 22 May

7. LORD DU TRIEUX – Won at Reims on his reappearance and has flattered to deceive in 3 subsequent outings – the latest (5th) over 2550m at Reims on 20 May. No taken lightly with Yoann Lebourgeois at the helm

8. LOVE ME ALWAYS – Disqualified in both starts last month, the latest at Le Croisé-Laroche over 2700m on 22 May. Others preferred

9. LITHIUM DES BOIS – Open to improvement after a modest introductory outing in which he finished a well-beaten 9th over 2750m at Ecommoy on 18 May

10. LE ROI DES BRIERES – Disqualified in all three appearances, the latest over 2200m at Caen on 29 May. Best watched for now

11. LALISSA – Open to improvement with the benefit of experience under her belt. Was disqualified on debut at Lisieux on 26 May

Summary: Superbly bred LYNYRD SKYNYRD (1), by Ready Cash out of a Group I winner in Italy, shouldn’t be hastily condemned for his faux pas on debut. He retains the full confidence of trainer Philippe Allaire and it could pay to give this highly regarded colt another chance. LORD DU TRIEUX (7), entrusted to Yoann Lebourgeois, and debut winner L’ESPOIR DES BAUX (2) have both the form and experience to fight for victory. LIO DE PIENCOURT (3), after a necessary comeback outing, isn’t underestimated either.
