C1 – PRIX LOMIA – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 41,000 |
1. JACK DU BARBEY – 11th of 12 finishers in a 2700m Class D at La Capelle early-May. Races barefoot this time but still has a mountain to climb
2. JETLAG DE BEAUFOUR – 11th of 13, when being prepared for this, in a 2950m Le Mans Class F on 8 May. Has twice produced the goods for Alexandre Abrivard and is ideally-positioned to continue the trend. Claim
3. JACO LE GRAND – Came last of 7 in a 2500m Reims Class E earlier this month when showing a bit too much spirit. Mathieu Mottier in charge this time and will endeavour to make good on his charge’s Gournay-en-Bray success
4. JASMIN VIVANCIERE – In the thick of things for the most part, most recently 3rd of 16 in a 2825m Sablé-sur-Sarthe Class F late last month. Is well-in on the front line and unlikely to return home empty-handed
5. JACKSON HILL – Looked ordinary before being sanctioned in a 2700m Class D at Le Croisé-Laroche on 22 May. Has otherwise been in fine form, is shod this time with Eric Raffin reining, and can start to set the record straight
6. JOLVIK DE GUEZ – Winner of his last 2, latterly a 2950m Caen Class F, in impressive style, 2 weeks ago. Starts in front and has every chance of pulling off the hat-trick
7. JOULYO VITA – Last of 15 when being conditioned in a 2725m Lisieux Class E a week ago. Is no slouch when barefoot and, although not a priority, is still worth monitoring
8. JOKER DU LYS – Made up for his mediocre Morlaix run with 3rd of 11 in a 2200m Caen Class E 2 weeks ago, but takes on a better bunch this time and, drawn wide, is not an obvious choice
9. JAGOAR DU TRIEUX – 4th of 10 in a 2300m Marseille-Borély Class E early-May after having won at the same venue 10 days earlier. Front pads fitted this time but has little going for him here and can be passed over
10. JIVAGO DE BEYLEV – Last but one in a 2875m Meslay-du-Maine Class E a fortnight ago. Has placed just once in 7 starts over the main track and even racing barefoot is not about to spring a surprise
11. JERICHO D’ORGERES – Encouraging but unthreatening 6th to JACKPOT DE PLOMB (13) in a 2850m Maure-de-Bretagne Class E 10 days ago and can be confidently disregarded
12. JERICHO VICI – Surprise 3rd behind JADORE D’ISQUES (15) in a 2700m Class F at Le Croisé-Laroche earlier in the month but is biting off more than he can chew this time
13. JACKPOT DE PLOMB – Won a 2850m Maure-de-Bretagne Class E, at 83/1, 10 days ago. On the back line and a repeat seems improbable
14. JEAN D’HOLLENBOURG – Made short work of a 2825m Chartres Class E 12 days ago. Handed an unattractive draw but a repeat of his latest performance, and some luck in running, would see him confirm
15. JADORE D’ISQUES – Enjoying something of a renaissance since returning to racing barefoot, most recently winning a 2700m Class F at Le Croisé-Laroche 11 days ago, and will be expected to play an active role
Summary: Very effective over these shorter trips, JETLAG DE BEAUFOUR (2) faces his first real objective following a long hiatus, races barefoot for the first time, and from the 2-spot can return to winning ways. It is unlikely to be all plane sailing though considering how JOLVIK DE GUEZ (6) has taken to racing without hind shoes. JEAN D’HOLLENBOURG (14) has not been quite as fortunate with the draw but was spectacular at Chartres earlier in the month and Marius Coignard will be eager to repeat. Eric Raffin partners a shod JACKSON HILL (5) for the occasion who will be in the mix at the finish if he stays in stride.

C2 – PRIX EUDORA – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class C Race – Harness – EUR € 68,000 |
1. BAHIA DEL CIRCEO – Tricky character but has bags of ability, most recently 5th to FEE LUCERNAISE (10) in a 2100m Class C here mid-May. Has never failed to fire under these conditions and will not be far from the action
2. DOMINO D’AUVRECY – Pleasantly surprised at Marseille-Borély mid-May but failed to confirm when last of 12 in a 2850m Hyères Class A 2 weeks later. Just front pads fitted and can be passed over
3. GAZOLINE DU SEUX – 3rd of 16 in a 2450m Caen Class C a month ago but, considering the superior company, is unlikely to repeat
4. EL SANTO HAUFOR – Modest veteran that never had a chance before being sanctioned in a 2850m claimer here on 28 May. Disregard
5. GREAT OF MADRIK – 5th, behind HAPPY DANICA (8), in a 2850m Laval Gr.3 last week. Is plainly close to his race and the drop in category will only work to his advantage
6. HERADAMES – 4th to HARLEY GEMA (9) here last month but could manage only 7th in a 2100m Class C here on 17 May, and will struggle to make his mark
7. HARMONISTA – Serious mare that made short shrift of a Class C over course and distance on 24 May. Equalled her career-best chrono that day and is in with a realistic chance of confirming
8. HAPPY DANICA – 3rd of 15 in a 2850m Laval Gr.3 earlier in the month. Would be better served by racing barefoot but can still pick up a slice of the pie
9. HARLEY GEMA – Quickly sanctioned in a 3525m Vichy Class A earlier in the month. Has solid references over course and distance though and, if focused, will not go down without a fight
10. FEE LUCERNAISE – Surprise 2nd here last month before coming a beaten 5th in a 2525m Vichy Class A 12 days ago. Drops back in category but still no more than a minor place prospect
11. GHOSTBUSTER – Last but one when shod on comeback 2 weeks ago, in a Class B over 2850m here. Has nothing to prove in this category and, with shoes off, can give HARMONISTA (7) something to consider
12. GIRL DE BASSIERE – Drops marginally in category after coming 5th of 15, after faulting in the stretch, in a 2150m Enghien Class B 3 weeks ago. Unlikely to impose but can still figure prominently at the business end of the race
Summary: After a much-needed conditioner at Caen, HARMONISTA (7) got straight down to business in a similar event here 3 weeks ago and is eminently capable of repeating. Franck Nivard will still be wary of the recently-returned, and barefoot, GHOSTBUSTER (11) who placed in a competitive Gr.3 late-January, and GREAT OF MADRIK (5) who held his own in a Laval GNT Gr.3 last week. HARLEY GEMA (9) returns to conditions she appreciates and should logically make up for her Vichy blunder.

C3 – PRIX LIGURIA – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 46,000 |
1. JUAN CARLOS GIFONT – Was on a fine run of form before coming 13th behind PICTURE PERFECT (5) in a 2700m Class D here a month ago. Reverts to a previous formula and is not going to be too far from the action
2. JUNON DE LOU – Switches back to the harness code after faulting in a 2175m monté Class D here late last month. Has been handed a good draw and, proven under these conditions, will have a lot to contribute
3. JASMINE D’OUILLY – Disappointing on the whole this year, latterly sanctioned in a 2850m Laval Class D on 5 June and, in spite of a good draw, will struggle to make her mark
4. FIORANO – Quality Italian trotter making French debut after running 2nd over 1600m in Naples early last month. Is first time barefoot, well-placed in front, with Franck Nivard reining, and must be taken seriously
5. PICTURE PERFECT – Below-par 6th over track and trip before reassuring with success over 2400m at Waregem on 26 May. Is confirmed under these conditions though and, unshod-all-4, must be afforded respect
6. JEU MAJYC – Sanctioned in a 2600m Nancy Class E a fortnight back. Should not be too hastily judged though, has previously run JENTIL DIESCHOOT (7) close, and looks a player
7. JENTIL DIESCHOOT – 2nd of 9 in a 2600m Nancy Class E 2 weeks ago. Is unbeaten with his driver and, if he turns, should be able to wrap this up
8. JOYCE DREAM – Surprise 3rd of 14 in a 2850m Class D here on 21 May. Shod differently this time, starts wide on front line, and is unlikely to shake things up
9. JALMAROSA – A model of consistency over past 3 months, most recently 3rd of 14 in a 2150m Vichy Class D earlier this month, and can make a big splash if David Thomain positions her early
10. DAMASCO EFFESSE – Sanctioned even before the start in a Class E over course and distance on 17 May. On the back row and unlikely to generate much interest
11. PRESTO D’AN – 3rd over track and trip mid-May before coming 4th over 2400m at Waregem when prepping for this last week. Has never disappointed when barefoot and is not entirely out of the picture
12. DAMISELA – 8th of 11 finishers, on comeback, in a 2700m Class C here a fortnight ago. Preparing for a monté campaign and will have nothing to contribute
13. DAYTONA DI CECCO – Went close under these conditions late-December but has been off the boil since, latterly 7th, behind PICTURE PERFECT (5), in 10 May race of reference and is not about to spring any surprises
14. DYNAMIC FLIGHT LF – Returns to Vincennes after winning over 1660m in Bologna. Has placed just once in 3 at Vincennes and the draw only compounds matters
15. CARBONFIBER – Has made no impression since coming south, most recently 12th in race of reference and, even going barefoot, still looks out of her depth
16. JAVERNE – Quality import that missed out by little in a Class E over course and distance mid-May. Steps up in class but the tough draw relegates her to a minor place prospect
Summary: JENTIL DIESCHOOT (7) has been in flying form this year, is reunited with Eric Raffin who won with him last month, and has a fine opportunity to impose for the first time racing left-handed. Third to him at Vichy before faulting at Nancy, JEU MAJYC (6) has yet to be tested over 2100m here but will be fully fit and, from the front line must be considered a priority. JALMAROSA (9) is forced to start wide but has shown a liking for the main track and, in current form, is very hard to ignore. Confirmed under these conditions and first time barefoot, the well-positioned JUNON DE LOU (2) will be expected to play an active role.

C4 – PRIX TOLOSA – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 59,000 |
1. HERMES LUDOIS – Kicked the year off superbly and has come close under similar conditions this term. Solid 5th of 14 in a 2800m Vichy Class D 11 days ago and is thoroughly capable of making first 5
2. HABIT DE SOIREE – Consistent sort that trotted 3rd of 12 in a 2850m Class D here late last month. Eric Raffin keeps faith, breaks from the 2-spot, and can challenge for the win this time
3. GERSHWIN DE CHENU – Capable sort but has not been seen out since coming 11th of 13 in a Class D over course and distance last February. Shoes off but will still need the race
4. HARINA DREAM – Last of 15, on return to competition, in Laval race of reference. Shoes on and no threat
5. EDI JOSSELYN – 9th of 11 finishers, when being conditioned, in a 3000m Châteaubriant Class E on 26 May. Shoes off this time but still needs to raise his game
6. HARRY COHIAIS – 4th, a place behind HABIT DE SOIREE (2), in a 2850m Class D here 3 weeks ago. Trotted 3rd to the good Hymne Du Gers here this winter and is sufficiently well-positioned to make this his own
7. HASARD D’ERABLE – Sprang quite the surprise winning a 2850m Laval Class D on 17 May, beating much of this field and, racing unshod-all-4 must be taken more seriously this time around
8. HOLD UP RANAIS – 6th of 11 finishers in a 3225m Vitré Class E earlier in the month. Has a particular liking for these conditions though and it would be no surprise to see him finish close
9. ELEVEN SHAPTER – Complicated but capable veteran although has not raced since coming 6th of 13 in a 2700m Class D here on Christmas Eve. Is shod and will be race-rusty
10. GEOLE DE LA TOUQUE – 7th to HABIT DE SOIREE (2) in a 2850m Class D here 3 weeks ago, on just 2nd start back. Will be fully fit by now but others still preferred
11. HECTOR DE BASSIERE – 3rd in a Class D here early-May before faulting, when favourite, in a 2725m Lisieux Class E late-May. On the back row but is entrusted to Matthieu Abrivard who will accord him every chance
12. DOMINO DE LA BRISE – 8th of 14 in a 2625m Saint-Omer Class E earlier this month, but has done nothing of note for some time and can be ignored
13. HOCHE – Won 2 of 3 before being sent for a spell. 5th to HASARD D’ERABLE (7) on re-entry in a 2850m Laval Class D mid-May, and will be dangerous if François Lagadeuc successfully negotiates the start
14. HIGH PROPULSION – Good 3rd to HASARD D’ERABLE (7) in Laval race of reference. Won twice when barefoot here over the winter and will have her chances if Benoît Robin positions her early
15. GALIE DE CELINIERE – Has placed just once in 6 since imposing over track and trip last February, and will need to improve on last week’s 8th of 13 in a similar event
Summary: As versatile and as dependable as they come, HARRY COHIAIS (6) can boast solid Vincennes credentials; he starts on the front line and the in-form Benjamin Rochard will be out to turn the tables on the hardy HABIT DE SOIREE (2) who had his measure here 3 weeks ago. Never one to be underestimated when barefoot, HASARD D’ERABLE (7) returned to the winners’ circle at Laval last time, beating Eric Raffin’s charge, and will not be available at 74/1 this time around. Some navigation will be required for HOCHE (13) but he will have come on for his recent re-entry and should figure prominently.

1. BOLERO GAR – Back in the code after being sanctioned early in a harness Class D over course and distance a week ago. Has done nothing of note under the saddle since December 2021 and and can be confidently disregarded
2. GEF DE PLAY – Last of 7 finishers in a Gr.3 over 2700m here and, barefoot or not, will need some luck in running in order to pick up a cheque
3. INSHORE – Hardy trotter with excellent credentials under these conditions. Sanctioned on re-entry in a harness Class B over course and distance 2 weeks ago and, shod as he likes, will be competitive for a place on the podium
4. I CAN DREAM – Sanctioned when preparing for this in a harness Class B over course and distance a fortnight ago. Quality mare with form at the highest level and returns to the discipline with a realistic chance of imposing
5. IN LOVE DU CHOQUEL – Won a Gr.3 over course and distance on 4 May, with authority, securing the hat-trick, and can make it 4 on the trot if François Lagadeuc successfully keeps I CAN DREAM (4) at bay
6. GEORGICA GEDE – Sanctioned in a 2625m Alençon harness Class A in preparation for this, but is no longer the trotter she once was and can be passed over
7. ESPACE WINNER – Not at his sharpest this term but prepped, unplaced, for this in a 2625m Alençon harness Class A 12 days ago. Shod to preference this time and has the capacity to get a look-in
8. FOUGUE DU DOLLAR – Capable on a good day but lacklustre this year. Last of 14 in a harness Class B over track and trip last weekend and, even with shoes off, is unlikely to influence the result
9. GALET STED – Has not won since the autumn but always gives his best. Good 3rd in a Solvalla Gr.2 over 1640m late last month and the new configuration may be just the ticket to a place in the frame
Summary: An absolute dynamo under the saddle, IN LOVE DU CHOQUEL (5) returns to Vincennes on a 4-timer, his last 2 wins achieved over course and distance, and will take all the beating. François Lagadeuc would be wise to keep an eye on the classy I CAN DREAM (4) who is shod to preference as she bids to make up for her April disappointment under these conditions. Seldom far from the action when focused, the well-regarded INSHORE (3) returns to his code of preference, sporting his preferred configuration, after warming up under harness, and with application can go far. Good third in Stockholm late last month, Charles-Antoine Mary sends out GALET STED (9) with a new shoeing formula and, with form maintained, will be no easy touch.

1. KATSUKI – Quickly sanctioned in a 2850m Class D here last weekend. Front pads fitted this time and not an obvious choice
2. KRAK DU RIEU – Encouraged at Royan before being sanctioned in a 2950m Vichy Class D earlier this month. Has never delivered racing left-handed and can be passed over
3. KANKAN – Has not been seen out since trotting 3rd of 13 in a similar event in late-March. Shod for re-entry though and best to hold off
4. KENZO DU MONT – Made a solid Vincennes debut when 3rd in a Class D 2 weeks ago, after having won 2 in a row at Caen, and despite the step up in category, can nevertheless hold his own
5. KIPLING IRON – Picked up this term where he left off last season, sanctioned in a Class D over course and distance early-April. Races barefoot for the first time but others still easier to back
6. KERMES – Tricky character that faulted in a 2850m Laval Class C last week and must first get his house in order
7. KNOK – 5th of 8 finishers in a 2175m Class C here 10 days ago. Placed on lone start over 2700m and, while not a contender, will nevertheless generate some interest
8. KOQUERY DU BUISSON – Failed to live up to expectations when last but one in a 2100m Class D here a month back, but is a quality trotter and racing barefoot could well be his ticket to redemption
9. KAMARAN MADRIK – Complicated but classy colt that made short work of a Class D under these conditions mid-May and, with application, can repeat
10. KOZIELLO DE LOU – Won a Class E under these conditions before coming a respectable 6th of 15 in a 2100m Class D here on 14 May. David Thomain reining this time but still no more than a minor place prospect
11. KAISER DE MORTREE – Decent 4th of 11 in a 2950m Toulouse Class B last week but would be better served by racing clockwise, and others preferred
12. KISS ME – 6th of 11, a place behind KASH DE TAGOR (15), in a 3000m Marseille-Borély Class B mid-May, 2 weeks after placing over course and distance, and will be expected to finish in the mix
13. KENTUCKY DU CAIEU – Unseen since being sanctioned in a monté Gr.3 over course and distance on 20 February. Has other priorities and can be ruled out
14. KANEM – Facile winner of a 2700m Class D at Le Croisé-Laroche on 22 May. Is proven over the main track and looks main threat to KAMARAN MADRIK (9)
15. KASH DE TAGOR – Produced a brace of good performances before coming 5th of 11 in a 3000m Marseille-Borély Class B on 17 May. Is barefoot this time and worth retaining for a spot in first 5
16. KOALA BLUE – 9th of 13 finishers, on comeback, in a 2850m Laval Class C 9 days ago. Excels for his driver though, who will be loathe to pass up such a good opportunity
Summary: KAMARAN MADRIK (9) may be a handful but his ability is not in question and the nature of his recent course-and-distance victory augurs well for his chances of securing the double. That said, KANEM (14) is enjoying something of a resurgence and will be no pushover. KOQUERY DU BUISSON (8) is barefoot as he was when victorious here in April and looks set to put things right. Well-engaged at the limit of earnings, KOALA BLUE (16) has a race under his belt and, twice a winner for Alexandre Abrivard, races unshod behind for the first time and will be dangerous if he stays in stride.

1. KELLE CLASS – Kicked the year off well but has since lost her way, sanctioned on Tuesday in a 2850m Vincennes Class D, and can be confidently ruled out
2. KEA DES RACQUES – No superstar but can trot, latterly 6th of 10 in a 2175m Class C here a week ago and, while unlikely to surprise, should still give an honest account
3. KOMMUNES DE PLAY – Ran 2nd to KOMEDIE SOMOLLI (10) here mid-May before failing to confirm in a Class D over 2850m here on Tuesday. Franck Blandin backs her up though with a reasonable expectation of making first 5
4. KATIA DHELPA – Regularly object of the stewards’ scrutiny but reassured somewhat when 4th of 7 finishers in a Class D over track and trip last week but, in this company, will have too much to do
5. KIWA BLEUE – Progressive filly that finished a commendable 5th of 13 in a 2100m Class D here a month ago, on just her 2nd start back, and the change of driver speaks volumes. Claim
6. KELLE STAR DI PAO – Modest 7th of 11 finishers behind KOSMOPOLITAINE (9) in a 3000m Nantes Class D on 3 June. Sports a new configuration this time but others still preferred
7. KHALEESI D’ALESA – Returned to winning ways on 10 May in a 2750m Class D at La Capelle. Is unbeaten in 2 starts racing padded-all-4 and must be considered a respectable place chance
8. KADIJA MESLOISE – Lost her action in a 2100m Class D here on 10 May. Sports a new configuration, with Eric Raffin drafted in for the occasion, and will have her chances if she gets off on the right foot
9. KOSMOPOLITAINE – Took little time getting back in shape, latterly 3rd of 11 finishers in a 3000m Nantes Class D on 3 June and, unshod-all-4 this time, should be capable of trotting her way onto the podium
10. KOMEDIE SOMOLLI – Got back in the game with a tenacious Class D course-and-distance victory a month ago. Has had time to freshen up and will be competitive for a place in the frame, provided Benjamin Rochard keeps her trotting
11. KIM DE BEAUM – Won over track and trip last December but subsequently went off the boil. 11th of 13 on re-entry in a 2850m Laval Class C last week and will need another run
Summary: Impressive at 3, KIWA BLEUE (5) trotted 5th in a decent bunch last month when still not at peak fitness, but it is clear she is back on track and winning this would be no surprise. Victorious for Alexandre Abrivard last autumn, KADIJA MESLOISE (8) is never far from losing her action but with Eric Raffin in the sulky this time, she will be no soft touch. KOSMOPOLITAINE (9) won over course and distance earlier in the year, is enjoying decent form and, barefoot this time, looks a player. KOMEDIE SOMOLLI (10) put a quartet of disappointments behind her when clinching victory under similar conditions last time out and, with application, can again figure prominently.

1. IMPACT CASTELETS – 5th of 16 in a claimer over course and distance 10 days ago. Not ideally-drawn on the inside but is good enough to pick up some crumbs
2. GALOPIN DE BIANCA – Should not be too hastily judged for his recent 11th of 12 in a 2150m Vichy Class E earlier in the month. Seldom lets the side down in this division and is well-placed to finish close
3. IDOLE D’OURVILLE – Unplaced in 2 since returning to competition, latterly 8th of 11 finishers in a 3125m Rânes Class F on Sunday. Hind shoes off this time but others still easier to back
4. GLAMOUR YOMA – Last but one in a 2400m Montauban Class D on 20 May. Is not without merit in this category but still represents no more than a minor place prospect
5. INVICTUS D’ECAJEUL – 12th of 16 behind IMPACT CASTELETS (1) in a claimer over course and distance 10 days ago. Enjoys a decent position on the front line but others still easier to support
6. FASHION DE VAL – Got back in the game when 3rd, a place behind FILOU DE PAM (7), in a 3475m Vire Class E 3 weeks ago. Starts in front, has never disappointed over the main track, and can challenge for a place in the frame
7. FILOU DE PAM – Has not won for 13 months but reassuring 2nd in a 3475m Vire Class E 3 weeks ago. Boasts a good amateur record and, barefoot this time, will not be far from the action
8. GREAT DANCER – Very hard to knock at present, most recently 5th of 15 in a 3025m Class H at Montluçon on 2 June. Unlikely to spring any surprises but is shod as he was at Graignes and can make first 5
9. GOLIATH DE LAIR – Last of 12, on re-entry, in a 2200m Caen Class F on 11 May. Barefoot this time but has been handed a bad draw and is not about to cause an upset
10. FLEUR DE VANILLE – Last but one in a 2800m Rambouillet amateurs Class G late last month and, even with hind shoes off, will have few takers
11. ILARIA KILY – Untroubled winner of a 2825m Chartres Class E 12 days ago. Has hardly put a foot out of line this season and even from the second row looks a serious proposition
12. HAMOUR DE SISSI – Has respectable amateur credentials but sanctioned when unsupported in a 2000m Rambouillet Class D last weekend. Front shoes off this time but still not an attractive proposition
13. HULTIMA – Modest mare that is not about to improve on her 9th of 11 in a 2875m Arras amateurs Class F last Sunday, and can be ruled out
14. HEMILIO PIERJI – Winner of his last 4, most recently a Class F over 2100m of the outer and inner tracks on 21 May, when similarly-drawn, and will take all the beating
15. GOWEN CHALEONNAIS – Encouraging 4th of 10 in a 2825m amateurs Class G at Le Croisé-Laroche on 3 June. Forced to start wide on 2nd row this time and chances slim
16. ELMET BLUE – 7th of 11 finishers in a 2850m Loudéac amateurs Class H a month ago and the draw just adds insult to injury
Summary: Simply remarkable in the amateur division, HEMILIO PIERJI (14) thrives over 2100m and even though handed a tough draw is still good enough to pull off the 5-timer. ILARIA KILY (11) is similarly on the back line but has won 2 of her last 4 and returns to the capital with a good hand to play. GALOPIN DE BIANCA (2) did not enjoy the best of trips last time out but is plainly in very good shape and makes his Vincennes debut well-placed behind the car, with front pads fitted and with legitimate ambition. FASHION DE VAL (6) went briefly off the boil but reassured at Vire 3 weeks ago and the decent draw will do her chances no disservice.

2. LACRIMA MAUZUN – Disqualified in 2 of her 4 starts, including her latest over 2725m at Grenade-sur-Garonne on 2 June. Not taken lightly, if judged on her previous outing (2nd at Cluny over 2700m on 15 May)

4. LUCKY DE CALVI – Debut winner at Neuillé-Pont-Pierre over 3025m on 26 May. His dam has already thrown several useful performers, so it wouldn’t surprise to see this gelding remain undefeated with improvement expected
5. LUCKY MIX – Debut winner (on turf) over 2025m at Avignon on 9 May. Open to any amount of improvement on this surface
6. LIBRE D’EMOTION – Has revealed sufficient promise to fight for victory in a race of this nature, especially with Serge Peltier engaged. Finished an improved/encouraging 3rd over 2850m at Lyon-PArilly on 15 April

10. LEADER DES RIOULTS – Opened his account over 2100m at Lignières in April but failed to confirm that form/improvement last time when only 8th over 2950m at Vichy on 1 June. Outsider
11. LIBERTY DU MORTIER – Consistent filly boasting sound references (seldom far off the mark), albeit without success. Didn’t go unnoticed when 6th over 2250m at Salon-de-Provence on 23 May
Summary: LUCKY DE CALVI (4) displayed a professional attitude when winning on debut at Neuillé-Pont-Pierre last month and could keep his unbeaten record intact if building on that promise. LIBRE D’EMOTION (6), especially with Serge Peltier engaged, Loris Garcia’s representatives, LEWIS GALAA (8) and LUCKY MIX (5), as well as improving LA MOME D’ATALANTE (9), whose last-start 2nd was encouraging, will keep the selection honest.

3. JUST IN DE BLARY – Finished an encouraging 5th over 2650m at Marseille-Vivaux on 1 June when returning from 8-month absence. Should have more to offer
4. JUNIOR DU MANOIR – Delicate, lightly raced trotter who has been disqualified in his last 4 starts – including all 3 appearances this year, the latest at Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne on 20 May. This remains a question of his wisdom
5. JEWEL DU ROEN – Absent since his disqualification (shod) over 2700m at Vincennes on 29 December. Best watched for now
6. JOE TEJY – Disqualified on his return from a five-month absence at Méral on 12 May. Rarely seen racing barefoot, so is worth keeping an eye on
7. JECKO DE MORGE – Tricky customer, seldom far from a fault but retains the means to stake a claim in a race of this nature. Didn’t go unnoticed when finishing 8th over 2625m at Paray-le-Monial on 19 May
8. JALINKO PACO – Has no references in this shoeing configuration and needs to improve after his failure (disqualification) at Paray-le-Monial on 19 May. Others preferred
9. JOGGER DE BELLANDE – Last-start winner over 2650m at Avignon on 2 June when racing barefoot. unlikely to confirm that form and improvement plated on all four

13. JASPER JOHNS – Relatively consistent sort with sound references/form credentials, which include finishing ahead of JERICHO DU BELLAY (16) at Lyon-Parilly on 5 May. Disappointed (6th) at Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne since
14. JACKPOT MONEY – In good form and physical condition – confirmed as much by finishing 4th on the at Bollène over 2800m on 6 June. Will be a factor
15. JAWENN DE KERYANN – Confirmed under these conditions, most effective without his irons, and is ideally engaged at the limit of earnings. Candidate for success
16. JERICHO DU BELLAY – At the peak of his powers and confirmed as much with a last-start success over 2650m at Avignon last month (19 May). Sets the standard
Summary: JERICHO DU BELLAY (16) has improved with each comeback outing this year and wasn’t winning out of turn last time. On that evidence, he seems more than capable of following up under these favourable conditions (being ideally engaged at the earnings limit). JAWENN DE KERYANN (15), who is most effective in this barefoot configuration, and JACKPOT MONEY (14), whose efficiency/competitiveness in this category is beyond doubt. are likely to give the selection most to fear, while JUST IN DE BLARY (3) is another contender for a podium berth.

2. KINGSLEY – Improved to finish 4th (barefoot) over 2150m at Vichy on 27 May but is unlikely to confirm that form and improvement in this shoe fitting
3. KATIEU DE COUZAN – Consistent performer with sound references (seldom far off the mark when avoiding disqualification). Didn’t go unnoticed when finishing 5th over 2675m at Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne on 10 June
4. KARMA DE MONTCIANT – Disqualified in back-to-back recent appearances (the latest at Vichy on 12 May) but has the undeniable means to win a race of this nature – this will again be a question of his wisdom. All or nothing
5. KISS OF THE KING – Won twice and finished 2nd in 3 completed outings (4 starts) last year. Finished 12th over 2250m on his reappearance at Salon-de-Provence on 23 May but has obvious claims with David Békaert engaged
6. KAISER DE CHANLECY – Last-start winner in this barefoot configuration at Lyon-Parilly over 2850m on 25 May. Ought to remain competitive
7. KRONO DE GESVRES – Delicate but versatile performer with references (victories) in both trotting disciplines but is seldom far from a fault – disqualified in consecutive recent outings, the latest at Salon-de-Provence on 23 May
8. KARAOKE – Unreliable trotter who has finished unplaced in all 3 completed races (4 starts) this year, the latest (7th) over 2250m at Salon-de-Provence on 23 May. Outsider

13. KERCHAK – Returned to form with a reassuring 3rd (barefoot) over 2250m at Salon-de-Provence on 23 May. Races with his irons for this commitment
14. KRACH NONANTAIS – Usually performs well when avoiding disqualification and has confirmed as much recently with a win (at Lyon-Parilly on 3 May) and a 2nd (at Vichy on 1 June over 2950m) in his last 2 starts. The one to beat
Summary: KRACH NONANTAIS (14) was a winner in his only association with Laurent Lamazière and seems capable of making up the ground (25m) to reconnect with success in a race of this nature, especially given the strength and consistency of his form. KABIR BEDI (9), KISS OF THE KING (5) and KARMA DE MONTCIANT (4) are out of sorts but, judged on their best references, have the means to be competitive. KAISER DE KACY (1) isn’t underestimated either from the inside of the front row.

1. ISLANDE ELDE – Last-start winner of a 2850m mounted race at Lyon-Parilly on 3 May, having been disqualified in both of her previous appearances under the saddle. Need only confirm that form/improvement to play a role
2. IDEAL DE LANDEMER – Rarely seen in the mounted category – disqualified in both appearances under the saddle (in 2022). Reverts to this code after a modest 7th in a 2650m amateur race at Marseille-Vivaux on 1 June
3. IMPACT DU CAUX – Confirmed in this specialty and seldom finishes far off the mark when avoiding disqualification. Has to bounce back from his latest faux pas at Marseille-Viavux in a mounted race over 2650m on 8 June
4. HASHTAG D’EMOTION – Versatile veteran with sound references in the mounted code (1st; 3rd and 4th in three starts under the saddle last year). Presented barefoot on his return to category after finishing 10th in a 2675m harness race at Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne on 20 May
5. HISTOIRE D’ATOUT – Has no references under the saddle and switches to the mounted category after disqualifications in 3 of her last 4 starts, the latest on 8 June at Marseille-Viavux in a harness race over 2650m
6. INOUIE DOMPIERRE – Confirmed in this sphere (under the saddle) with the undeniable means to win a race of this nature but is rarely far from a fault. Shouldn’t be underestimated despite her disqualification at Vichy on 18 May
7. ILUX DU CAUX – Inconsistent performer in harness races but has the means to find his way under the saddle, especially after an encouraging 4th (barefoot) in a 2850m harness race at Lyon-Parilly on 2 June. Presented shod in his first start in the mounted code
8. INVAR HIGHLAND – Consistent performer in the mounted code with sound references/form credentials under the saddle, including a last-start 3rd over 2325m at Toulouse on 31 May. Should play a leading role
Summary: This won’t take much winning and trainer Loïc Lerenard has a strong hand with two strings to his bow, headed by ILUX DU CAUX (7) who it could be worth siding with on his return to the mounted category. Stable companion INVAR HIGHLAND (8) has the form and experience under the saddle to fight for victory, while enigmatic INOUIE DOMPIERRE (6) has undeniable means in this code but is seldom far from a fault. HASHTAG D’EMOTION (4) has references in this specialty and completes the shortlist.

14. INA DU PONT – Has disqualification issues and that was the case last time out at Enghien on 16 August. Returns from a break barefoot and capable of scoring
Summary: Cases can be made for several of these. It could, however, pay to side with ILLUSTRE FERM (9) who usually acquits himself well when racing barefoot, and he will only benefit from the services of David Békaert in the sulky. Both INA DU PONT (14) and ISLANABELLA (7) have the means to pose a threat, while IDEAL DE DOMPIERRE (13) is another capable of finishing on the podium. Delicate TABLECLOTH INDIGO (3) is an attractive outsider.

Summary: IAGO ROSE (11) is, given his impressive record at this venue, good value to turn the table on IMPULSE JULRY (13), who got the better of a recent meeting at Marseille-Borély. IERMES DE GUEZ (14), who contested a stronger race last time, ought to pose more of a threat in this grade, while INSTINCT DE VETRE (9) and IBAIA DE MAY (8) appeal most of the remainder.
