C1 – PRIX DES PLAGES DE CORBIERES – 2650m (a1m1/2) – Class F Race – Harness – EUR € 25,000

1. IBRAHIC – Reverts to racing with front pads after coming 5th of 11 finishers in a 2650m Avignon Class F a month ago. Has placed just once in 6 starts at the venue however and is not about to shake things up

2. ICARE FILE – 8th of 10 finishers in a Class F freshener under these conditions a fortnight ago. Stays shod and best to wait

3. HONEY DE TOUCHYVON – 9th behind HANDY GOLD (9) in a 2650m Class F here last weekend. Secured 3 of his 5 victories at Vivaux though and, sporting a new configuration, looks a player

4. GASTON DE SAUZETTE – Hard to fault lately when barefoot and focused, most recently winning a 2000m Class G at Lyon-Parilly early-May. Steps up in class but in current form is easy to like for a minor place

5. IZAROSANGELA – Below-par in last 2, latterly 8th of 11 finishers in a Class E over track and trip last weekend. Shoes off this time however and is not incapable of getting a look-in

6. HEY YOU – 6th behind HANDY GOLD (9) in a 2650m Class F here a week ago but is plainly better than that and, with shoes off, can play a leading role from the front line

7. IONIQUE – Serious trotter making first appearance since coming 5th of 18 in a 2725m Lisieux Class F mid-April. Shoes on for comeback and best to hold off

8. GAME HAUFOR – Was freshening up for this when 3rd of 14 in an amateurs Class G over course and distance a week ago. Boasts a fine Vivaux record and looks a decent first-5 prospect

9. HANDY GOLD – Made short work of a Class F over course and distance 2 weeks ago. Has never disappointed here and is not about to start

10. HARLEY DES PRES – Starts for the first time since coming 9th of 13 in a 2850m Hyères Class E last July. Shoes on and can be ruled out

11. FUCHSIA DU RIB – Last but one, behind GAUDI TIT (14), in a Class F under these conditions 2 weeks ago. Has an abundance of ability but is still in conditioning-mode and can be passed over

12. FANGIO DU GUESCLIN – Unplaced in last 4, most recently 9th to GAUDI TIT (14) under these conditions a fortnight back, and will have little to contribute

13. HEAGLE ONE – Has not been seen out since faulting in a 2300m Borély Class E late-March. Shoes on and no threat

14. GAUDI TIT – Got back down to business with success in a Class F over course and distance 2 weeks ago and can again defy the 25m handicap

15. IRU FUSHI – Would have finished close had he not been sanctioned in a 2300m Borély Class E early last month. Excels when barefoot and will take all the beating

16. FITZY DE VIVE – Surprise 5th of 15 in a Class D over course and distance 2 weeks ago. David Cinier could not have hoped for a better entry, but nevertheless appears to be out of his depth

Summary: As talented as he is complicated, IRU FUSHI (15) has not been seen at Vivaux for 18 months but he showed at Borély that he is clearly in form and, barefoot for the occasion, can win this if Nicolas Ensch keeps him trotting. Principal opposition will take the form of a barefoot HEY YOU (6) who raced better here last weekend than the result would suggest. HANDY GOLD (9) finished well ahead of him in 2nd that day and can again play a prominent role, but may first have to see off GAUDI TIT (14) who imposed under these conditions a fortnight ago.

1. HAVANA QUICK – Surprise 3rd of 13 in a 2650m Avignon amateurs Class H late last month. Shod for return to Vivaux and not a threat

2. HELLO DREAM – Pulled-up in a 2400m Biguglia Class D late April. Unraced since and seems to have no possible chance

3. HYPTIS – Returned to winning ways in a 2650m Carpentras Class H on turf on 12 May. Comes here fresh, barefoot, and with every chance of making the frame

4. HOOLIGAN OF FEE – 5th here 2 weeks ago before being sanctioned 8 days later in a 2650m Avignon Class H. Appreciates Vivaux conditions though and is unlikely to be far off the mark

5. HOUSTON JUSTICE – A total disappointment this season, most recently last of 10 in a 2850m Feurs Class E 8 days ago, and can be passed over

6. HULK GINYU – Made up for his Borély clinker by coming a reassuring 2nd of 13 in a 2650m Avignon Class H on 19 May. Starts in front and, although not a contender, should still acquit himself competitively

7. HANI BIRD – Reassured somewhat when 5th of 14 in an amateurs Class G over track and trip a week ago but, in this company, will have too much to do from the 2nd line

8. HATHAWAY – 3rd in the amateur category at Hyères late-May before finishing last of 7 in a 2650m monté Class G over course and distance 2 weeks ago, and can expect to have few takers

9. HAPPY LYL – Was not given a hard race when 8th of 11 finishers in an amateurs Class G over course and distance a week ago. Has yet to impose at Vivaux but is competitively well-in this time

10. GROOVE DE SYVA – Back in the groove after switching to the claiming division, latterly 2nd in a 2800m Bollène edition, but takes a hike in category and chances limited

11. HAROLD BERGIL – Took little time getting back in shape, most recently 3rd of 15 in a 3025m Eauze Class E on 3 June. Hails from a yard in form and can make this his own

12. GAMIN DU SABLIER – 3rd of 16 in a 2150m Vichy claimer 10 days ago. Appreciates these conditions and, with David Békaert reining, is not going to be far from the action

13. HADAYA VISAIS – Showed improvement when 6th, a place behind HOOLIGAN OF FEE (4), in a similar event 2 weeks ago, but has more to find this time

14. HOLY ROMAN EMPEROR – Gave a fine account at Borély before faulting in a 2650m Hyères Class E late last month. Went close here earlier in the year and with application can make his presence felt

15. HASIR – Disappointing since imposing at Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne 3 months ago, latterly sanctioned in a 2850m Feurs Class E 8 days ago, and is not about to spring a surprise

16. GRAINE D’URZY – Won 2 on the trot before coming 4th of 16 in a 2400m Class F at Beaumont-de-Lomagne a fortnight ago, but has other priorities and is not a concern

Summary: Back at the top of his game after a long absence, HAROLD BERGIL (11) makes his Marseille-Vivaux debut with morale intact and, even from the 2nd line, can win this. He looks a better bet than Stephan Cingland’s pair of HAPPY LYL (9) who is barefoot for the occasion, and HYPTIS (3) who, from the front row, bids to confirm his Carpentras success. GAMIN DU SABLIER (12) reassured in a Vichy claimer, has solid Vivaux credentials, and still looks a player, even with 25m more to travel.

1. INFRAROUGE – Oddly last of 10 in a 2725m Class D at Grenade-sur-Garonne on 2 June when bidding for the hat-trick. Hind shoes off this time and the Békaert factor can make all the difference. Claim

2. IZGOOD DU ROEN – Stablemate to the favourite, latterly sanctioned in a 2725m Class D at Grenade-sur-Garonne earlier this month. Form is not in question however and, while unlikely to win this, should still give a competitive account

3. INDIEN DU VALVIC – Sanctioned on re-entry in a Class E over track and trip last weekend. Nicolas Mourot in the sulky this time and, from the front row, can put on a decent show

4. IL CONTO – Sanctioned, when preparing for this, in a 2025m Avignon Class H earlier this month and will again have nothing to contribute

5. IBIS DU LYS – 3rd here 2 weeks ago before faulting, as favourite, in a Class E over course and distance last weekend but, if focused, can pick up a minor place cheque

9. HAMILTON ATOUT – Nordic type returning to France after finishing 9th of 12 over 3140m at Åby late last month and the handicap will not improve his chances

10. IDEAL CHALEONNAIS – Sanctioned in 3 of last 4, most recently a 2650m Avignon Class H on 2 June. Modified shoeing but still not an obvious choice

11. HASKIDO THISACLE – Good campaigner but appears to have lost his way, latterly sanctioned in a 2825m Bollène Class E  2 weeks ago, and must first re-establish his credentials

12. HOLP UP SAUTREUIL – Last of 8 in a 2825m Bollène amateurs Class E 2 weeks ago and faces another arduous task

13. HOUSTON TEXAS – Atypically 6th of 11 in a Class F over course and distance 3 weeks ago. Has a decent record at the venue and, despite the penalty, still looks competitively well-in

14. IL VILLAGGIO – Unreliable type that faulted in a 2850m Lyon-Parilly Class E on 2 June. Shoes back on and will pose no danger

Summary: On quite the charge this season before disappointing earlier in the month, INFRAROUGE (1) has already won twice in the 3 months he has been with Yannick Henry and, with hind shoes off and David Békaert reining, is an obvious choice. Superbly-engaged on the front line, ILARIO DU MAINE (8) drops in category and looks the main threat. HOUSTON TEXAS (13) should not be too hastily judged for his recent effort here and, in marginally inferior company this time, he can defy the handicap and finish close. Winner at Oraison before flopping at Avignon last month, INSTALL OAKS (7) debuts under conditions he should appreciate and must be taken seriously.

SELECTIONS
INFRAROUGE (1) – ILARIO DU MAINE (8) – HOUSTON TEXAS (13) – INSTALL OAKS (7)
C4 – PRIX DE LA PLAGE DU PRADO – 2650m (a1m1/2) – Class F Race – Harness – EUR € 19,500

1. ILARITA MAG – Returns to the harness code after finishing last but one in a monté Class G over course and distance a fortnight back. Barefoot this time but others easier to trust

2. INES DE MAJEAN – Faulted in last 4, latterly a Class G over course and distance 2 weeks ago. Showed her form that day though and will be competitive for a place on the podium if Junior Guelpa keeps her trotting

3. IHOARA TILOU – Showed improvement when 6th of 16 in a 3150m amateurs Class G at La Roche-Posay earlier in the month. Has more to find but the front-row start will do her chances no disservice

4. IBELIA DU LOISIR – Complicated mare but solid in last 2, most recently 2nd of 13 in a 3000m Borély Class F late-April. Barefoot for the occasion and, if focused, can wrap this up

5. IRISEE LUDOISE – Last of 9 in a 2950m Toulouse Class D on 17 May. Hind shoes off this time and is unlikely to cause an upset

6. INCROYABLE STAR – Had been in decent shape before faulting in a 2650m Avignon Class F on 19 May. Has no Vivaux references but enjoys a good entry and is unlikely to disappoint

7. IRMOSA BELLA – Faithful servant that came 4th of 10 finishers in a similar event here 2 weeks ago. On the back line here and looks more a minor place prospect this time

8. IDOLE DE LA ROUVRE – Faulted in a 2825m Bollène amateurs Class E  on 9 June. Has been off the boil all year and can be discounted

9. HOLY GRACE – Unthreatening 6th of 15 in a 2650m Avignon Class H last Sunday. Better at a lower level though and others preferred

10. IDAYA SOMOLLI – 4th of 15 in a 2800m Bollène Class F a fortnight ago. Has been knocking at the door lately and is not incapable of making her Vivaux debut a winning one

11. ILLARIA MADRIK – Sent for a spell after trotting 6th behind IBELIA DU LOISIR (4) in a 3000m Marseille-Borély Class F on 26 April. Comes here fresh, in competition-mode, and will be no shrinking violet

12. INFANTE DE TOUES – 7th of 11 finishers in a 2650m Avignon Class F on 19 May. Incurs the penalty and, in present condition, can be ruled out

Summary: With 3 runners in the field, Philippe Gaillard is indeed well-armed. Recent Borély runner-up, IBELIA DU LOISIR (4) looks a serious player from the front line. Stablemate ILLARIA MADRIK (11) has nothing to prove at this level, pleased on her lone appearance here, and from the back line will still have her chances, but she may first have to defer to the dependable IDAYA SOMOLLI (10) who is plainly close to her race. Although sanctioned in her last 2 here, INES DE MAJEAN (2) will be no pushover if she can stay in stride.

SELECTIONS
IBELIA DU LOISIR (4) – IDAYA SOMOLLI (10) – ILLARIA MADRIK (11) – INES DE MAJEAN (2)
C5 – PRIX DE LA PLAGE CALANQUE PORT-PIN – 2650m (a1m1/2) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 22,000

1. JAZZISSIME – Sanctioned in a 2650m Avignon Class H on 2 June. Has done nothing of note for some time and can be disregarded

2. JAGUAR DE CHENOU – Never far from faulting, as he showed in a 3025m Eauze Class F on 3 June, but is useful when focused and, from Line 1, can get in on the action

3. IGGY FAFA – Encouraging 4th of 11 finishers in a Class E over course and distance last weekend. Has yet to deliver here but is barefoot for the occasion and, from the first line, can play a leading role

4. JAMES BOND DUEM – Clearly capable but sanctioned in a 2650m Avignon Class E last Sunday and, with shoes on again, will have nothing to offer

5. JULIANO STILE – 2nd of 6 finishers in a 2650m Avignon Class H 3 weeks ago, on just 2nd start back. Breaks in front and, on good behaviour, can bring home the bacon

6. JOYAU DU GUELIER – Showed improvement when 4th of 10 finishers in a 2750m Nîmes Class E late-May but in this category will have his work cut out

7. JETSTAR DE VRIE – Sent for a spell after faulting in a 2675m Class F at L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue early-April. Has placed twice at Vivaux this term and will be worth keeping an eye on

8. JET SET CITY – 7th of 10 finishers in a 2150m Vichy Class F on 27 May. Would have better prospects at a lower level and can be ruled out

9. JUAN D’OCCAGNES – Won a 2850m Lyon-Parilly Class F on 25 May. Incurs the penalty once again but must still be considered a contender

10. JAZZ BLUE – Respectably regular for the most part, latterly 3rd of 8 finishers in a 2650m Avignon Class F early-May, but at this level may have too much to do

11. ICARE DES CHAMPS – Trotted 2nd here 3 weeks ago but failed to confirm a week later when last but one in a similar event, and not an obvious choice

12. ILONA DU FER – Moderate mare that came last but one in a 2650m Carpentras Class F late last month. Barefoot for the occasion but still not an obvious choice

13. ISPAHAN DE CAREL – Sanctioned in a 2650m Laon Class F late last month, and incurs the penalty, but is shod to preference, won last time here, and must be afforded respect

14. JOYEUSE MAB – Last but one, on re-entry, in a Class C over course and distance 2 weeks ago. Will have come on for the run, races barefoot this time, and is unlikely to return home empty-handed

15. JOKER DU MIDI – Surprise 4th of 14 in a Class C over track and trip 2 weeks ago. On back line this time however and chances limited

16. INDIEN EMJI – In the frame in 2 before faulting in a 2650m Avignon Class F on 19 May. Shod as he was when winning here in January and is not to be underestimated

Summary: JULIANO STILE (5) took no time getting back in the game following his hiatus and, from the front row, looks the pick of the field. David Békaert will still be keeping a watchful eye on a barefoot IGGY FAFA (3) who showed his form here just last weekend. Shod as he was when imposing at Lyon-Parilly last month, JUAN D’OCCAGNES (9) is 25m worse off but is still very much a player. Hard to knock when applied, ISPAHAN DE CAREL (13) has just front shoes on this time and endeavours to complement her victory here earlier in the year.

SELECTIONS
JULIANO STILE (5) – IGGY FAFA (3) – JUAN D’OCCAGNES (9) – ISPAHAN DE CAREL (13)
C6 – PRIX DE LA PLAGE DE LA POINTE ROUGE – 2650m (a1m1/2) – Class F Race – Harness – EUR € 17,000

1. KRONO DU CHENE – Late developer that faulted 2 weeks ago in a 2800m Bollène Class H and is not about to garner much support

2. KANSAS DE LUBEL – Sanctioned in both starts since the spell, latterly 1 June race of reference, and others easier to back

3. KISS D’EREVAN – Has significant potential, most recently 3rd to KENT CLARK (10) in a similar event here 3 weeks ago, and could well impose this time

4. KYMIJALLY – Still hunting that first win but came an encouraging 3rd of 9 finishers in a Class F under these conditions 3 weeks ago and must be taken more seriously this time around

5. KEN QUICK – Form was heading in right direction before faulting in race of reference. Shoes on this time and best to wait

6. KAWESAQUEL – In the frame in 3 of last 4, latterly runner-up to KENT CLARK (10) in 1 June race of reference. On front line again and has a decent chance of getting that maiden monkey off his back

7. KALINE SALTOR – Disappointing so far this season, most recently last of 9 in race of reference, and can be passed over

8. KERNEL DE NUIT – Disqualified in a 2800m Bollène Class H 2 weeks ago. Benefits from a front row start this time and will be competitive for a place in first 5

9. KAIA DU MIDI – Placed just once in 26 but came an encouraging 5th of 9 in a 2800m Bollène Class H on 9 June. Unlikely to spring a surprise but enjoys a good entry and will have her supporters

10. KENT CLARK – Stylishly lost his maiden status in a Class F over course and distance on 1 June. 25m worse off this time but still has the wherewithal to make the frame

11. KETTY ANGANO – Last of 10, on comeback, in a 2750m Nîmes Class F on 25 May. Has references here but looks race-rusty

12. KISS OF THE KING – Showed promise at 3 but out of the picture in both starts since the break, latterly sanctioned in a 2850m Feurs Class D 8 days ago, and will have few friends

13. KERIDAN DE SOYORA – 3rd of 12 finishers in a 2650m Avignon Class E last Sunday. Incurs the penalty but in present form, it is easy to make a case

14. KING MAKER – Kicked the year off decently but 7th of 9 in a Class D over course and distance a fortnight ago and will need to raise his game

Summary: In the frame in 2 of the 3 races he has finished, KISS D’EREVAN (3) left a good impression here 3 weeks ago and, with front pads fitted for the first time, can exact revenge on the tricky but capable KENT CLARK (10) who got off the mark that day and who is eminently capable of negating the 25m handicap, and the rejuvenated KAWESAQUEL (6) who trotted 2nd. KERIDAN DE SOYORA (13) returns to a hard surface following a fruitful streak on turf and must be afforded respect.

SELECTIONS

C7 – PRIX DE LA PLAGE SAINT-ESTEVE – 2650m (a1m1/2) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 19,500

1. LADY ORANGE – Qualified in 1’18″5 at Grosbois earlier this month and if as good in competition, can get straight down to business. Minor place prospect

2. L’EXCEPTION – Returns to the harness code after trotting 4th of 5 in a 2325m Toulouse Class D 3 weeks ago and is not about to spring a surprise

3. LUDO SANTIGNY – 5th in his last 3, latterly of 6 in a 2650m Avignon Class G on 19 May, and racing with pads for the occasion could make all the difference. First-5 chance

4. L’AMIRAL FLOWER – Lived up to expectations when winning a 2650m Carpentras Class G on debut last month. Steps up in category but Laurent Gout has maintained faith and looks thoroughly up to the task

5. LE MARGINAL – Won a 2650m Oraison Class G, on turf, on 8 May. Unraced since and can double his money if he turns

6. LUTHIER – Pleased at Carpentras before faulting in a 2850m Feurs Class D 8 days ago. Is plainly useful but others easier to trust

7. LILIROSE TURGOT – Quality filly that trotted 2nd of 11 finishers in a 2650m Avignon Class E last Sunday. Sports pads this time and looks eminently capable of winning a race of this nature

8. LOUISE DU BOCAGE – Showed early potential but could manage only 9th of 11 behind LILIROSE TURGOT (7) in a 2650m Avignon Class E last weekend and can be confidently passed over

9. LE GRAND ZAMPANO – Disappointing lately, most recently 7th of 9 in a 2250m Class D at Salon-de-Provence on 23 May, and others preferred

10. LUCKY D’AVAL – Solid here before being sanctioned in a 2650m Avignon Class E last weekend. Showed his form nevertheless that day and, with application, can play a prominent role

Summary: Runner-up on her first 2 starts, both on turf, LILIROSE TURGOT (7) is fitted with pads all around for her debut on a hard surface and can get off the mark this time. Nicolas Ensch will still want to be wary of LE MARGINAL (5) who opened her account, also on turf, early last month, and L’AMIRAL FLOWER (4) who imposed last month at the first time of asking. LUCKY D’AVAL (10) finished 3rd over course and distance 3 weeks ago and will be no soft touch if he keeps his action together.

SELECTIONS
LILIROSE TURGOT (7) – LE MARGINAL (5) – L’AMIRAL FLOWER (4) – LUCKY D’AVAL (10)
C8 – PRIX DE LA PLAGE CALANQUE D’EN-VAU – 2650m (a1m1/2) – Class G Amateur Drivers Race – Harness – EUR € 6,000

1. HAUFOR – Has returned to competition, after 3 years off, in decent shape. Is better than his 6th place in last weekend’s Class G over course and distance would suggest. Hind shoes off and looks a serious proposition

2. GILOU DE FONTAINE – Won a similar event here before being put out of stride by a weakening horse, resulting in being sanctioned in a Class F over course and distance 2 weeks ago. With application though, will make amends

3. HUNTER DE LA COTE – Last of 11, behind HAUFOR (1), in an amateurs Class G over track and trip a week ago. Stays shod and will need the run

4. IDEAL DU VIGNAC – Quality element that faulted, on return from his spell, in a 2675m Avignon Class H last weekend. Shoes on and no threat

5. GALAXY VAUCEENNE – Last of 11 on comeback in a 2825m Chartres amateurs Class G 3 weeks ago. Sports a revised configuration, has solid amateur references, and from the front row, must not be overlooked

6. FANGIO GRIFF – No slouch in the amateur division but faulted in a 3125m Monpazier edition on 2 June and, even racing unshod-behind, can expect to have few, if any, takers

7. GABARRET DAIRPET – Seldom gets his nose in front and last but one in a 2675m Avignon amateurs Class H last Sunday, but races barefoot for the occasion, appreciates Vivaux, and will not be far from the action

8. FILOU RIEZAIS – Did not enjoy the best of trips, causing him to finish last of 9 in a 2650m Hyères Class F late-May. Has excellent amateur credentials and, even from the 2nd row, has every chance of making the frame

9. ILLICO DU JAS – Sanctioned in a Class E over track and trip on 1 June. Seldom far from faulting but has ample ability and can make first 5 if Yves Hagege keeps him trotting

10. FAKIR DE LARRE – 5th of 10 in a 2650m Hyères Class F on 29 June. Is 25m worse off this time, stays shod, and others preferred

11. IKAROS – Unraced since coming 7th of 13 in a 2925m Cagnes Class F early-March. Here for reasons of conditioning and can be ignored

12. HAPPY D’AIMTE – Has taken to the amateur category like a duck to water, successful in last 2, most recently a 2650m Avignon Class H on 19 May, and the 3-timer looks a distinct possibility

Summary: Benefitting from a wonderful entry here, and a revelation in the amateur division, HAPPY D’AIMTE (12) legitimately bids to secure her hat-trick. Leading the opposition is GILOU DE FONTAINE (2) who was unlucky here 2 weeks after having won a similar amateurs event, and HAUFOR (1) who goes without hind shoes after freshening up here last weekend. Unfortunate here late last month, FILOU RIEZAIS (8) seldom disappoints in the amateur category and redemption is anticipated.

SELECTIONS
HAPPY D’AIMTE (12) – GILOU DE FONTAINE (2) – HAUFOR (1) – FILOU RIEZAIS (8)
