16. GIVE ME GOLD – Two poor runs this year. Finished 12th over 2150m at Parislongchamp in Class 2 Divided Handicap on 25 April 2024. Others are preferred
Summary: SULEYMAN (10) is better than his recent form suggests. He is having his peak run and if finding his earlier form, he should be competitive. STORM CITY (13) has produced two good runs in the lead-up to this race and is a massive threat. RAQEEBB (5) is better than his disappointing latest effort and on his penultimate run, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest. UZEL (3) showed good signs of a form return last time. 2. ROGUE MILLENNIUM – Was not disgraced when 3rd in a Group 1 over 1600m at Newmarket on 12 July 2024. Place chance in this line-up
3. EXCELLENT TRUTH – Won over 1600m at Deauville in a Conditional Listed on 7 July 2024. Faces stronger and others have a better winning chance

5. KELINA – Finished 3rd in a Group 3 over 1400m at Parislongchamp on 20 June 2024. Will strip fitter for this race and cannot be ignored
6. BLUE ROSE CEN – Disappointing latest when 7th in the Group 1 Prince of Wales’ Stakes over 2000m at Ascot on 19 June 2024. Big runner on best form shown

Summary: MQSE DE SEVIGNE (4) won this race last year and a Group 1 event at Parislongchamp last time. She comes into this race in top form and can bring up the hat-trick. BLUE ROSE CEN (6) is better than her disappointing last effort at Ascot. She is a filly with class and cannot be discounted with Christophe Soumillon up. KELINA (5) would have come on from her last outing in a Group 3 and has the ability to be competitive. ROGUE MILLENNIUM (2) comes into this race off a good 3rd at Newmarket and must have a say.

1. COLUMNIST – Won over 1200m on debut at Chester and has proven his worth/competitiveness in subsequent Group races, finishing 3rd in 1200m Group II Coventry Stakes and 4th in 1400m Group II Superlative Stakes at Newmarket on 13 July. Keep safe
2. DAYLIGHT – Impressive wide-margin winner on debut at Chantilly (1200m) before confirming her obvious ability/promise with a creditable last-start 3rd in the Group III Prix du Bois over that course and distance on 16 June. Beware
3. NAANA’S DIAMOND – Finished 2nd in consecutive outings over 1000m – at Thirsk on debut and at Ascot in her next outing – before opening her account over 1200m in Italy when last seen on 9 June. Will find this a lot tougher
4. APOLLO FOUNTAIN – Finished 2nd to POLYVEGA (5) over 1100m on debut at Chantilly but improved with that experience to land the Listed Prix Yacowlef over 1000m at Deauville on 6 July. Exciting prospect who it should pay to follow
5. POLYVEGA – Authoritative debut winner over 1100m at Chantilly on 16 June and should have more to offer over the extra 100m. Beat re-opposing APOLLO FOUNTAIN (4) on debut and the latter has subsequently won a Listed race
Summary: Good race. APOLLO FOUNTAIN (4) finished behind POLYVEGA (5) when the pair debuted over 1100m at Chantilly but the former could hardly have been more impressive in winning the Listed Prix Yacowlef over 1000m earlier this month and, on the evidence of that display with the benefit of added experience to count on, seems capable of avenging that debut defeat. COLUMNIST (1) has proven references at Group level across the Channel and should, on the strength/consistency of his form, make his presence felt in the outcome. DAYLIGHT (2), despite finishing 3rd in the 1200m Group III Prix du Bois, was slightly disappointing and could make amends here.

1. AL KAMLAH – Unexposed daughter of Shalaa whose comeback 2nd over 2000m at Chantilly (on 26 June) was given a boost by her conqueror who subsequently won a Listed race at Vichy. Not taken lightly
2. ALMARA – Reliable performer with sound references/form credentials, which include finishing 2nd at both Group II and Group III level. Maintained her consistency with a good 3rd in a course-and-distance Listed race on 9 June
3. ROSE JAIPUR – Progressive sort who won a 1900m PSF handicap in May before taking out a course-and-distance Listed race last month. Didn’t go unnoticed when 5th in a 2000m Group II at Saint-Cloud on 30 June
4. ROCK’N SWING – Highly regarded Camelot filly whose two outings at Group I level did not go according to plan – finished 11th in the 2100m Prix de Diane at Chantilly on 16 June. Beat Group I Poule d’Essai des Pouliches winner Rouhia on this course in April
5. ULURU – Zoffany filly trained in Ireland. Caught the eye when finishing 3rd of 30 runners in the Sandringham Stakes at Royal Ascot over 1600m on 21 June. Dark horse
Summary: A small but competitive field for this Group III contest. Godolphin’s ROCK’N SWING (4) was unsuited to how the races developed in both of her Group I appearances but has her sights lowered here, so could set the record straight. Consistent ALMARA (2), who has finished 2nd twice in as many outings at Group level, and progressive ROSE JAIPUR (3), whose limits remain unknown, also have legitimate ambitions of fighting for victory. AL KAMLAH (1) caught the eye on her reappearance and isn’t underestimated.

1. ANGEAL – Unbeaten Wootton Bassett filly whose 1200m winning debut at Saint-Cloud was backed up with a 1400m win at that same venue last time (30 June). Rivals behind her that day placed at Listed level since – horse to beat
2. ROYALTY BAY – Suffered her only defeat (from 3 starts) at Royal Ascot in the Group II Albany Stakes – finished a creditable 6th of 16 runners. Back to winning ways over 1200m at York on 12 July and the longer trip should suit – keep safe
3. MISS LACOUMA – Progressive sort, unbeaten over this distance after winning a claimer at Dax (23 June) and at Vichy in her last start on 15 July. Career-best performance needed to be competitive in this grade/company
4. BINIORELLA BAY – Built on the promise of her Lingfield debut (2nd) on 30 May to open her account over 1400m at Newmarket in a Novice Stakes on 21 June. More needed but is likely to improve
5. BRAVO BAY – Confirmed the promise of her Saint-Cloud debut (4th) on 20 May – finished close-up behind both ANGEAL (1) and RELAXX (6) – by winning her next/last start over 1400m at that venue on 11 June. Not taken lightly
6. RELAXX – Caught the eye when running on to finish 3rd on debut – behind ANGEAL (1) with BRAVO BAY (5) only a little way behind – and confirmed the promise of that introduction by winning over 1400m at Chantilly on 26 June. WIll be a factor
Summary: Debut winner ANGEAL (1) preserved her unbeaten record with a 1400m success at Saint-Cloud last time and the form of that win has worked out well – both the 2nd and 3rd have placed at Listed level since. She is capable of keeping her 100% record intact. RELAXX (6) finished a close-up 3rd to that rival over 1200m on debut and has won over this extended trip since so could improve to pose a threat. ROYALTY BAY (2), who suffered her only defeat in the Group II Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot, and BRAVO BAY (5) complete the shortlist.

1. GOYA SENORA – Well-performed, honest veteran who has displayed commendable consistency. Wasn’t disgraced in 2 recent Listed races over 2400m (finished 5th on both occasions, the latest at Vichy on 16 July) – attractive outsider
2. SUNFAST – Posted a career-best performance (4th) in the Group III Prix de Barbeville over the same course and distance on 28 April. Hasn’t been since but would’ve regained freshness, so cannot be underestimated on his return
3. NAGANO – Sparingly raced six-year-old gelding 2nd in a 2800m Group III at Goodwood in August 2021 but has raced just twice since. Made a winning stable/French debut in 3100m Class 3 conditions race at Saint-Cloud on 30 June
4. BEL ET BIEN – Has won twice and finished 2nd twice in 4 starts over 3000m, so is distance-suited. Was supplemented to run in this race after finishing 2nd in a 3000m Listed race at Saint-Cloud on 21 June. Sets a very good standard
5. ZULU WARRIOR – Acquitted himself well in his first start beyond 2500m- finished 4th in a 3000m Listed race at Saint-Cloud (the key reference race) on 21 June. Should have a role to play
6. GUET APENS – Ultra-consistent, maturing stayer whose limits remain unknown. Made an impressive winning reappearance (after a 7-month absence) over 2400m at Chantilly on 11 May and this longer trip should be more to his liking
7. KANESHYA – Lightly raced five-year-old entire with solid handicap references/form credentials, which include a last-start victory in a 2400m Quinte+ handicap at Compiegne on 9 July. Steps up in class but open to improvement
8. SCENIC – Placed (3rd) in a 2000m Listed race at York as a three-year-old but has only a minor role to play after finishing 6th in a 2400m Group III (Haydock) and 5th in a 2400m Listed race (Pontefract) last month. Tries further now
Summary: Exciting BEL ET BIEN (4) has already proven his worth/competitiveness in this grade (finished 2nd and 3rd in his two Listed-race appearances) and is likely to play another leading role here. Paul De Chevigny’s runner has been lightly raced and remains open to further improvement in just his 10th start, so his progress could be worth following here. ZULU WARRIOR (5) finished behind that rival in a 3000m Listed race last time and should give the selection most to fear, although GUET APENS (6) is another whose limits remain unknown after an encouraging comeback success. KANESHYA (7) isn’t without a prayer either, even at this level.

1. SAMAPY – Versatile, lightly raced gelding with sound references off his current mark with headgear fitted (retained), including a last-start 4th in a Class 3 conditions race (turf) over 1800m at Saint-Malo on 15 July. Respect
2. NOSDARGENT – Course-and-distance specialist who finished 2nd in a 2000m Quinté+ handicap on PSF at Cagnes (12 Feb) but has lost his way since (only 10th in a claimer over track and trip on 6 July). Dangerous off this mark
3. APOLLON – Finished 3rd in back-to-back PSF handicaps, including one over this track and trip (9 April), and hasn’t made any impression in 2 subsequent turf outings – the latest (11th) a 2000m handicap at Vichy (15 July)
4. DRUIDE – Ultra-consistent, lightly raced versatile performer who caught the eye when 3rd on handicap debut over 1800m on turf at La Teste on 27 June. Should have a role to play
5. E VA BIN – Finished 2nd three times and 3rd once in a 4-start sequence back in 2022 and has looked better than ever in 3 appearances this term – won once and finished 2nd twice. Runner-up in 2000m ParisLongchamp turf handicap on 9 June
6. HADEWIN – Honest veteran handicapper with sound references on this surface and in this grade. Lost his form earlier this year – unplaced in consecutive outings, the latest (9th) at Chantilly on 26 April – so, just watch for now
7. ON Y VA – Course-and-distance specialist with 2 handicap wins this year (one over track and trip in March, albeit off a lower mark). Proved his competitiveness off his current mark with a good 4th here on 6 July – keep safe
8. ALCOTAN – Inconsistent but has sound references in handicaps on PSF, including a win and a 2nd from 3 starts over course and distance. Only 8th in a 1600m turf handicap last time (5 July) but can do better on this surface
9. KING OF TWIST – Won a 1900m PSF handicap at Chantilly 2 starts back but struggled (11th) under a resultant 4,5kg penalty in a course-and-distance handicap on 6 July. Capable but has questions to answer
10. EASTERN STAR – Soundly beaten (11th) on handicap debut over 2000m on turf at Compiegne on 9 July. Races on PSF for the first time
11. RECOLETTY – Took advantage of a big drop in the weights/ratings to finish an eye-catching 4th in a turf conditions race over 1950m at Châteaubriant on 16 July. Dropped another 1,5kg for her return to the handicaps – beware
12. HERNAN CORTES – Finished 3rd in back-to-back handicaps, one of those over this track and trip (9 April), before 2 no-shows in his last 2 appearances. Only 11th in a course-and-distance claimer on 6 July, so has to redeem himself
13. VILLA ROYALE – Honest veteran mare with sound references/form credentials in handicaps on this surface, including a last-start 7th over this course and distance on 6 July. Will appeal to lovers to outsiders
14. INTO FAITH – Honest hard-knocker who finished 2nd in a minor conditions race over 2400m at Biguglia when returning after a 2-month break on 9 June. Has been underwhelming on PSF- for another day
15. EDEN – A proven PSF performer who confirmed her liking for this surface with an improved/encouraging 3rd in a course-and-distance handicap on 6 July. Not taken lightly
16. TREASURE KEEPER – Consistent, hard-knocking handicapper who seldom finishes far off the mark. Didn’t go unnoticed when 5th over 2000m in a turf handicap at Lyon-Parilly on 24 June and will appreciate the switch to this surface
Summary: E VA BIN (5) will be all the rage in this concluding handicap contest, having won his second start of the season and finished 2nd in the 2 outings on either side of that victory. He is good value to reconnect with success on the strength and consistency of that form. RECOLETTY (11), who continues to blow hot and cold, could pose a threat with a repeat of the performance that saw him finish a reassuring 4th in his last start. Consistent DRUIDE (4), after an encouraging (3rd) debut in this grade, and ALCOTAN (8), who is unreliable but dangerous under a lightweight, will have their supporters too.

1. MAROUBRA – Posted an excellent 1’17″4 in Caen qualification mid-June before losing her action in a 2300m Bernay Class F 3 weeks ago, and is not about to spring any surprises
2. MIRATISSIME – Looked very ordinary when qualifying without fanfare at Caen early-June and is unlikely to cause an upset
3. MONICA JISCE – Qualified in a respectable 1’18″8 at Laval earlier this month. Receives an Eric Raffin drive for debut and is unlikely to be far off the mark
4. MAGGY JENILOU – Qualified in a fine 1’17″5 at Caen in late-June before faulting early on debut in a 2250m Class D here last weekend. With application though can get a look-in
5. MASSIVE ATTACK – Showed she was still somewhat green when debuting 3rd of 10 in a 2250m Class D here last weekend, and Yoann Lebourgeois will be loathe to allow the same thing to happen again. Chance
6. MAYA BEE – Pleasantly surprising 2nd of 7 finishers in a 2225m Ecommoy Class F 3 weeks ago. Will have progressed and deserves to be treated with respect
7. MAHINA D’ENILA – Qualified in 1’19″4 at Caen on 5 May. Allaire would not send her out if not able to win a race of this nature and can expect significant support
8. MORNING NEWS – Quickly sanctioned in a 2225m Ecommoy Class F 3 week ago. Showed her form though and with Mathieu Mottier in charge this time, is not to be underestimated
Summary: Philippe Allaire sends out a pair here, both of which will have their chances. MAHINA D’ENILA (7) qualified respectably early-May, has had time to come on, and can get straight down to business. Stablemate MASSIVE ATTACK (5) is better than her recent debut result would suggest and has a decent chance of bringing home the bacon this time. MORNING NEWS (8) lost her action first time out but nevertheless caught the eye and will be dangerous if Mathieu Mottier can keep her trotting.

2. GRANDE MALICE – 7th of 12 in an amateurs Class F over course and distance early-July and will have nothing to offer
3. GOFARA – 10th of 11 in a 2400m Amiens amateurs Class G on 11 July and is not about to shake things up
4. HEROS NUEVO – Returned to winning ways in a 2750m Ecommoy amateurs Class G 3 weeks ago. Excels with Daniel Grimault and is not incapable of doubling up
5. FLICFLAC DU LOGIS – Second of 8 in a 2900m Clairefontaine amateurs Class H last weekend. Benefits from a good entry and returning to a hard surface may be just the ticket
6. HERA D’ESPACE – Placed just once in 4 at this level but reassured somewhat when 4th of 7 in a 3175m Saint-Omer Class F a week ago. Not a priority but in this small field can make first 5
7. GOLDISSIME – Unplaced in 2 ‘pro’ races, latterly a 2750m La Capelle Class F last week, after winning a Vincennes amateur event and returns to the category with a lot to contribute
8. GOOD DREAM – Knocking at the door in the ‘pro’ categories lately, most recently 3rd of 7 in a 2700m Vittel Class H last weekend. Has placed just once in 3 amateur starts though and others easier to back
9. HOLD UP MESLOIS – Makes first appearance at this level after finishing last but one in a 3175m Saint-Omer Class F last weekend, and will have few friends
Summary: After placing twice in this category across town late-spring, HERMES DU CHATAULT (1) went on to clinch victory in the professional category at La Capelle earlier this month and, barefoot this time, can repeat, but he will nevertheless be pitted against the recently revitalised HEROS NUEVO (4) who has won 4 of 7 at this level. GOLDISSIME (7) won his first amateur event across town last month and returns to the category with a decent hand to play. Runner-up in his last 3 starts, FLICFLAC DU LOGIS (5) deserves to have his day in the sun.

2. LATINO BOY – 8th of 9 to LOCHAN (9) in a 2725m Pornichet Class E on 19 July. 4 pads fitted this time, with Alexandre Abrivard in the saddle, but still not a priority
3. LUIGI D’ISIGNY – Has evident ability but sanctioned more often than not, latterly a 2750m Cabourg Class F last Tuesday. Mathieu Mottier in the irons this time but others still preferred
4. LOVER FACE BOY – Takes first public steps under the saddle after trotting 9th of 11 in a 2850m Laval harness Class D early last month. Comes here fresh and, with Théo Peltier onboard, looks a major player
5. LUCKY DES SOURCES – In the frame in 2 of last 3, most recently 3rd, a place behind LOCHAN (9), in a 2850m Laval Class E on 3 July, but will struggle to repeat
6. LOTUS PAULOIS – 4th on monté debut at Reims last month before finishing last of 6 in a 2875m harness Class D here 11 days ago. Sports 4 pads this time but still not easy to make a case
7. LAZIO – Returns to the discipline after faulting in a 2650m Pornichet harness Class E earlier this month. Yet to put a foot wrong under the saddle and will be competitive for a place on the podium
8. L’AS DE COEUR – Erratic at the best of times, most recently 6th of 9 in a 2725m Cabourg harness Class D 9 days ago. Imposed at Caen last time in the code though and Benjamin Rochard gets the nod
9. LOCHAN – Debuted smartly at Laval on 3 July before winning a 2725m Pornichet Class E, in fine fashion, 9 days ago, and is once again the obvious choice
Summary: Perfectly-engaged at the limit of earnings, LOCHAN (9) has looked thoroughly professional in both starts to date, most recently imposing well, and with Eric Raffin in the irons, looks set to make it 2 in a row. Quite clearly a colt with a future, LOVER FACE BOY (4) was never at his ease at Laval but switches code for the first time and will be expected to show another side to himself. LAZIO (7) is back under the saddle after freshening up at Pornichet and is not going to be far off the mark. L’AS DE COEUR (8) is not to everyone’s liking, but he won under the saddle last month and should not be ignored.

1. KHEOPS JENILAT – Was in the running for a cheque when sanctioned in a 2250m monté Class D a month ago. Is clearly in shape and can win this if his driver keeps him trotting
2. JET DE CANVILLE – 2nd of 12 in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class F last Monday. Has never impressed in the claiming division however and others easier to back
3. JUSTE D’UN JOUR – A revelation since embarking on a claiming ‘career’, winning last 3, latterly over 2775m at Lignières a week ago, and is not incapable of adding another to his tally
4. JALISCO DE NEUVY – 6th of 12 finishers in a 2750m Cabourg monté Class F on 12 July. Is reunited with Yoann Lebourgeois who won with him on their only association, and must not be underestimated
5. JUDY TURGOT – Pulled-up in a 2850m Class E at Bagnoles-de-l’Orne a week ago. Has been a write-off for past 11 months and can be confidently ruled out
6. KURTISS – Made it 2 straight sanctions when faulting in a Class D over track and trip 12 days ago and, even with hind shoes off, has no realistic chance
7. JETLAG DE BEAUFOUR – No slouch on a good day but sanctioned in 3 of last 4, most recently a 2150m Argentan Class E mid-month. Reverts to a previous formula though and, with application, can give KHEOPS JENILAT (1) a run for his money
8. KALIKA DU RIS – Disappointing on the whole over recent months. Quickly sanctioned in a Class D over course and distance a fortnight ago, and can expect to have few takers
9. JACOVIA MADRIK – Started to come good during the spring but subsequently went off the boil, most recently last but one in a 2875m Carentan Class F 2 weeks ago. Unshod-all-4 this time but still no more than an outside chance
Summary: After being sent for a break following 2 straight successes, KHEOPS JENILAT (1) has struggled to come good this term, but sports a new configuration on his claiming debut and could well return to victorious ways. Clément Duvaldestin will nevertheless be keeping a keen eye on the tricky but capable, and reconfigured, JETLAG DE BEAUFOUR (7) who also tries his hand in this category for the first time, and JUSTE D’UN JOUR (3) who makes his Enghien debut on a claiming 4-timer. JALISCO DE NEUVY (4) has lost his way but can find redemption in this lowly category.

C5 – PRIX DE CLICHY – 2875m (a2m) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 35,000 |
1. KERDYNA MATCH – In the frame in all 6 starts this season, latterly 3rd to KIRANIE DES NOES (7) in a 2700m Class E at Le Croisé-Laroche mid-June. Yoann Lebourgeois drafted in for the occasion but still not a priority
2. KALINKA MOYA – Failed to confirm her Chartres victory when 9th of 11 in a 2700m Class E at La Capelle last Monday. Races barefoot this time but others still preferred
3. KINJAL DE BELLANDE – 7th of 10, on just 2nd start back, in a 2800m Vichy Class D earlier in the month, and is unlikely to improve on that
4. KYRA GIO – 2nd of 16 in a 2750m Cabourg monté Class E on 2 July. Has other priorities and can be passed over
5. KAROLINE CADE – Has started to come good again, latterly 2nd of 11 in a 2050m Cabourg Class E on 12 July, and will not be available at 55/1 this time around
6. KALINKA DU GRENAT – Surprise 4th of 9 in a Class D under these conditions a fortnight ago but, and form maintained, can confirm
7. KIRANIE DES NOES – Sanctioned here before trotting 4th of 11 in a 2700m Class E at La Capelle early last week, and can play a role if she keeps her action together
8. KALISKANA – Last but one, on re-entry, in a 2650m Class D at Les Sables-d’Olonne a fortnight ago. 4 pads fitted, with Eric Raffin on board for the first time, and looks a serious proposition
9. KALINE D’ERPION – Got back in the game when 2nd of 8 in a 2050m Feurs Class E earlier this month, but takes on some better horses this time and not an obvious choice
10. KARELLE DU DORAT – Has done nothing but improve since faulting here 4 months ago, most recently 3rd of 10 in a 3125m Angers Class E early-June, and must be worth retaining
11. KENZA D’AMOUR – Has not been seen out since coming 6th of 11 in a 2100m Lisieux Class E in March. Barefoot for return but still faces a stiff test
12. KALINE DE FAEL – Left a very good impression winning a 2200m Le Mans Class E 12 days ago and legitimately bids for the double
13. KOMERE DE CORDAY – Flew up in a 2775m Class E at Les Sables-d’Olonne on 10 July. Goes barefoot again and, in similar form, will take all the beating
14. KORSICANA – Has been knocking at the door, most recently 3rd of 12 in a Class E over course and distance a month ago, and with Franck Nivard reining, should figure prominently
Summary: An excellent servant when focused, KOMERE DE CORDAY (13) picked up her second success of the year when romping at Les Sables-d’Olonne earlier this month, and looks just to have the edge over KALINE DE FAEL (12) who made short work of the opposition at Le Mans mid-month. KALISKANA (8) sports pads for the first time, has been entrusted to Eric Raffin for the occasion, and if race-fit, can set the cat among the pigeons. Nicely-entered at the limit of earnings, KORSICANA (14) proved herself here in late-June and, with hind shoes off, will be no pushover.

1. LOUNA D’OR – Placed here 2 months ago but out of the picture in 2 since, latterly 7th of 8 in a 2750m Class D at La Capelle 3 weeks ago, and can be ruled out
2. LOVELY DU VALLON – Made good on her promise when winning a 2450m Caen Class D, with ease, on 20 June. In better company this time but still looks handy. Place chance
3. LISAS – Quality element but sanctioned after missing the break in a Class C over course and distance earlier this month. Damien Bonne at the helm this time and can make amends
4. LUCIOLE DU VERTAIN – Has been knocking at the door since winning in the provinces, latterly 3rd of 7 in a 2850m Vincennes Class D on 18 June, but faces a much stiffer test this time around
5. LOVE GLORY – Good 3rd of 10 in a 2700m Vincennes Class C on 28 June. Gets a Benjamin Rochard drive this time and will have her chances
6. LISSANDRA JIEL – Returns to racing with hind pads fitted after coming 3rd of 8 in a 2750m Class D at La Capelle 3 weeks ago. Mathieu Mottier reining and will not be sent out at 61/1 this time
7. LATINA TOURNIBOIS – Comfortably opened her 2024 account in a 2825m Class D at Le Croisé-Laroche on 24 June. In better company this time but will still have her supporters
8. LADY PETTEVINIERE – 2nd of 8 in a Class D over track and trip 11 days ago. Has yet to lose her maiden tag and even racing with pads, and Eric Raffin reining, will still have too much to do
9. LOLITA BOURBON – Promising future trotter making her first appearance since coming 2nd of 6 in a 2150m Class D here last March. Not a priority on first start back but should nevertheless acquit herself honourably
10. LIBERTE DU GOUTIER – Improving sort that made no bones about imposing in a 2650m Class D at Les Sables d’Olonne 2 weeks ago. Is plainly on the way up and represents a worthy contender
11. LAUREATE DRY – Easily won a 2150m Class E here on 13 July. Has a lot more to give and the hat-trick is a realistic ask
12. LUNGA DES BROUSSES – Sanctioned in a 2900m Clairefontaine Class D mid-month. Sports front pads for the first time and will be worth monitoring
13. LADY BEAUTIFUL – Won at La Capelle last month before faulting, when never threatening, in a Class C over course and distance early-July, and will have little to contribute
14. LYLOU DES THUYAS – Unraced since trotting 3rd of 7 in a 2700m Vincennes Class B last January, and will need the outing
Summary: Winner in the provinces early last month, LAUREATE DRY (11) subsequently went on to win in style over shorter here a fortnight ago and looks eminently capable of repeating. That said, LIBERTE DU GOUTIER (10) has a similar profile and makes her metropolitan debut with a realistic chance of stealing her thunder. The progressive LOVE GLORY (5) left a good impression across town a month ago and over this even surface looks particularly competitive, as does LOVELY DU VALLON (2) who stamped her mark at Caen last time out.

1. LUKARI DE FONTAINE – Lost his maiden status, after 4 straight sanctions, in a 2475m Francheville a fortnight ago but, in this category, will struggle to make any impact
2. LABRAX DU SKY – Imposed on debut a month ago before being sanctioned in a 2725m Cabourg Class D 9 days ago, and is unlikely to spring any surprises
3. LORD DE LA FUTAIE – Encouraging 3rd of 9 in a 2825m Class D at Le Croisé-Laroche on 24 June. Mathieu Mottier at the helm this time and from the 3-spot, will have his chances
4. L’ECLAIR DE PLAY – Pleasant 3rd at Vichy before repeating 2 weeks ago in a 2850m Class F at Bagnoles-de-l’Orne but in this company, will need to find more
5. L’AS DES AS – Pleasant 2nd of 7, on return from a spell, in a 2300m Class F at Montier-en-Der 3 weeks ago. Steps up in category but is worth keeping an eye on all the same
6. LORD DES GRANGES – Moderate type that faulted early in a 2150m Class E here on 10 July. Shoes back on, with Benjamin Rochard reining, and with a little luck in running, can pick up some prizemoney
7. LOMBARDO DE LOU – Facile winner of a 2150m Durtal Class G a fortnight ago and, with form maintained, can make this his own
8. LOVAT – Imposed first time out before coming 2nd of 8 in a 2150m Vichy Class E late last month. Leading driver at the helm this time and will be competitive for the win
9. LUCKY PORT – Qualified superbly at Le Mans a month ago before running 2nd of 13 in a 2700m Class F at La Capelle on debut earlier in the month. Will have come on for the race and 60/1 will not be his price on this occasion. Chance
Summary: LOMBARDO DE LOU (7) made up for his debut sanction when encountering no opposition at Durtal mid-month and even though starting wide, still looks the pick. LOVAT (8) has not been handed the best of draws either but looks a serious future prospect and the Yoann Lebourgeois-factor cannot be ignored. LUCKY PORT (9) pleasantly surprised first time out and, in this small field Gabi Gelormini should have no problem negotiating the start. LORD DE LA FUTAIE (3) showed improvement at La Capelle and must also be respected.

1. KIRA BO FACE – 2nd of 6 over 2000m at Duindigt 3 weeks ago and makes her monté bow with limited ambition
2. JEUNE AMI – Pulled-up in a 2200m Le Mans harness Class D mid-month. Pleased on lone monté appearance but still looks out of his depth
3. KID DES MOLLES – 3rd to KISS ME BOURBON (9) in a 2875m Class C over track and trip 3 weeks ago and should again have a good hand to play. Place prospect
4. KANTHABELLA – 8th to KISS ME BOURBON (9) in race of reference. Frequently bites off more than she can chew and, even though sporting a new configuration, is not a realistic proposition
5. KELVALSE CASTELETS – Competitive when unshod, most recently valiant 2nd to KISS ME BOURBON (9) in race of reference, and has a decent chance of making the frame once more
6. JOKER DE FROULAY – Last but one in a 2450m Caen Class D on 20 June and, in this field, will have nothing to contribute
7. JAZZY THOURJAN – Mixes the good with the less good but picked up 3rd of 8, behind JAMAICA (10), in a Class C over course and distance on 6 July, and will again be competitive for a first-5 payday
8. JACK DES MALBERAUX – 9th of 13 when preparing for this in a 2150m harness Class C here a fortnight ago. Won at Vincennes last time under the saddle and is not to be overlooked
9. KISS ME BOURBON – Won a 2875m Class C, with consummate ease, here 3 weeks ago and a similar performance would see her wrap this up too
10. JAMAICA – Put in a fast finish to come 2nd [to a very good horse] in a Class C under these conditions 3 weeks ago, and is not to be underestimated
Summary: Sébastien Guarato played his cards well, sending out KISS ME BOURBON (9) to win with authority over longer here earlier in the month, and she is going to take some beating. KELVALSE CASTELETS (5), racing unshod-behind this time, and KID DES MOLLES (3) came respectively 2nd and 3rd that day, but the latter looks a marginally better bet on this occasion. JAMAICA (10) enjoys a good entry and her latest course-and-distance run did not go unnoticed

Summary: NATANSI (5) can score despite a slightly below-par run last time. She was a good second on her debut at Toulouse in mid-June and if emulating that run she will be hard to beat. BOETTI (3) was also a tad below par last time after a pleasing debut when third in late May. She can not be ruled out. EUGENE SMITH (1) showed improvement when second on his latest start and looks like a sensible option each way. DRACO (4) makes up the shortlist.

Summary: CREW DRAGON (3) has been in good form with two wins recently and a nice fourth last time at Parislongchamp in mid-May. He can make his rivals work hard. CENTRAL PARK WEST (2) is a threat and will be in a good frame of mind after a win at Deauville 22 days ago. HIGHBARI (1) also arrives off a good effort when second at Chantilly earlier this month and should not be discounted. HAUSSEZ (5) heads the remainder.

5. SEE TO SEA – Unplaced on the sole start over 3000m on July 19th at Mont-De-Marsan. Looks hard to recommend

8. ESPERANCE CHAUFOUR – 4th last time over 2450m in a maiden on July 5th behind two of today’s rivals. In the mix
Summary: SHERKANE (1) has shown more than enough to score in what does not look like a strong race. He was a decent second two starts ago at Toulouse and performed credibly last time when not beaten far into sixth at Salon Provence in late May. XILOFONO (2) looks like the main danger after a second-placed effort last time at Mont-De-Marsan earlier this month. PRETTY STORM (7) and ESPERANCE CHAUFOUR (8) were third and fourth in the same race and can fight it out for minor honours.
