C1 – PRIX CARREFOUR ANGOULINS – 2500m (a1m1/2) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 23,000

1. LOUISA D’ATOUT – Left a very good impression when 3rd of 10 in a 2150m Enghien Class D on 27 June. Will appreciate the new profile and looks the pick this time

2. LIPTON DU NOYER – In the frame in last 2, latterly 3rd of 7 in a 2650m Class D at Les Sables d’Olonne on 13 July, but takes on better here and no more than a minor place chance

3. LUTIN VENESI – Opened his 2024 account on 7 July before coming 3rd of 6 in a 2875m Enghien Class D 3 weeks ago. Padded-all-4 and will be no easy touch

4. LAROZE DU GERS – Makes first appearance since completing the double in a 2550m Reims Class E 4 months ago, and will need the run

5. LUCKY DE MAC – Pleased at Chartres before being sanctioned in a 2950m Biarritz Class D 2.5 weeks ago and in this company will have limited chances

6. LYNX GRIFF – Unraced since winning a 2850m Laval Class E late-June. Is clearly an improving colt and will be expected to play an active role

7. LORD DAIRPET – Comfortable winner of a 2725m Pornichet Class E on 25 July and with Anthony Barrier reining again, will be competitive for victory

8. LOVING DREAM – Has not been seen out since trotting 5th of 6 in a 2850m Vincennes Class D on 18 June and will struggle to make his mark

9. LOVELY DREAM – Good, consistent sort that came 4th, a place behind LIPTON DU NOYER (2), in a 2650m Class D at Les Sables d’Olonne on 13 July. Will not be losing his maiden tag but should nevertheless give an honest account

Summary: After opening her account at Sablé, I LOVE LATAL (8) subsequently left a very good impression in Paris and, with her handler in the sulky this time, takes on the colts with a realistic chance of imposing. She will still encounter resistance from LORD DAIRPET (7) who showed a different side at Pornichet recently, and the progressive LUTIN VENESI (3) who sports 4 pads for the first time. LYNX GRIFF (6) has not been seen out since winning at Laval late-June but comes here fresh and should again figure prominently.

C2 – PRIX DU PMU CAFE DE LA POSTE – 2500m (a1m1/2) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 20,000

1. KASSAV DE FRECA – Clearly capable but disappointing lately, most recently sanctioned in a 2475m Royan Class E 10 days ago, and will have few friends

2. KOQUIN D’AMOUR – Hardy element that finished last but one in a 2875m Class E at Meslay-du-Maine, on re-entry, on 21 July. Competitively shod this time and considerable improvement anticipated. Chance

3. KORRIGAN DU FAYARD – Has struggled this term to recreate last season’s form, most recently 6th of 10 in a 2825m Durtal Class F mid-July. Matthieu Abrivard at the helm this time but others still preferred

4. KUEEN KEP – 6th of 9, when preparing for this, in a 2475m Royan Class E 10 days ago. Is proven in this category and has every chance of trotting her way into first 3

5. KASSKOU CLEMAXELLE – Finished last but one in 17 July race of reference. Is confirmed at a lower level and may be biting off more than he can chew

6. KLAUR VET – Won smartly at Jallais before finishing 2nd of 11 in a 2600m Montignac Class F a fortnight ago. In better company this time but still looks up to the task. Place prospect

7. KACI DU LUPIN – Solid 3rd of 11 in a 2775m Class D at Les Sables-d’Olonne, on comeback, 3 weeks ago, and can make this his own if Antoine Wiels keeps him trotting

8. KINA DES COTEAUX – Below-par 8th behind KACI DU LUPIN (7) in a 2775m Class D at Les Sables-d’Olonne 3 weeks ago. Shod this time as she was at Pornichet and will be expected to redeem herself. First 5

9. KITKO DAIRPET – Occasionally surprises but latest 7th of 9 in a 2625m Class F at Saint-Jean-de-Monts 10 days ago will not cut the mustard

Summary: KACI DU LUPIN (7) may not be the easiest of horses to handle but he has bags of ability, left a good impression on re-entry, and looks the horse to beat. Antoine Wiels will still want to be wary of the freshly-configured KOQUIN D’AMOUR (2) who will have come on for his comeback run, and KLAUR VET (6) who takes a well-deserved step up in class. Barefoot following her Royan conditioner, KUEEN KEP (4) will be significantly more competitive this time around.

C3 – PRIX DU CLUB NAUTIQUE DE CHATELAILLON-PL – 2500m (a1m1/2) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 23,000

1. JOB DE CHOISEL – A tough nut to crack when barefoot, most recently winning a 2725m Pornichet Class F on 4 July, and can make her debut at the venue a winning one

2. JAGUAR D’HERMES – Clearly back at his best, latterly holding on for victory in a 2775m Class F at Les Sables d’Olonne 3 weeks ago. In better company this time but will still generate some interest

3. JASMIN VIVANCIERE – Pleasant 4th of 11 in a 2650m Class E at Les Sables d’Olonne mid-July. Takes on better this time though and chances limited

4. JEU SET ET SMILE – Sanctioned in a 3100m Chinon Class F mid-July after having imposed at Vichy. Has won 4 and finished 2nd once, from 5 starts with his driver, and is not to be ignored for the big prize

5. J’AI OSE – Disappointing for past 11 months, latterly 8th of 11 in a 2700m Luxé Class F last Friday, and can be ruled out

6. JOUEUR DU LUPIN – Sent for a short spell after winning at Chartres, returning on 11 July when 2nd of 6 finishers in a 2725m Pornichet Class F, and in similar shape can double his money

7. JANOU POULOT – Made no bones about winning a 2150m Mauquenchy Class F 2 weeks ago. Will not be bothered by the wide draw in this small field and must be taken seriously

8. JADE RENARDIER – Last but one when being conditioned in a 3025m Luçon Class E a month back. Has never disappointed here but stays shod and best to hold off

Summary: A winner at Chartres before running 2nd at Pornichet early last month, JOUEUR DU LUPIN (6) returns to a proven configuration and can win this, although JOB DE CHOISEL (1) has hardly put a foot wrong over recent months and, twice successful for Anthony Barrier this year, will be no pushover. JANOU POULOT (7) won comfortably at Mauquenchy a fortnight ago and even though drawn wide and sporting an unsuccessful formula, still looks a player. JEU SET ET SMILE (4) is better-positioned behind the car and given his form with Matthieu Abrivard, can play the role of spoiler.

1. HADDOCK D’ECOUVES – Pleased at Carentan mid-July before faulting in a 2400m Domfront Class H 10 days ago. Seldom gets his nose in front but consistently gives his best and, on good behaviour, can get in on the action

2. INAO SAINT CLAIR – Got back in the winners’ enclosure a fortnight ago, dominating a 2725m Pornichet Class F on 25 July. Is similarly shod and has every chance of staying unbeaten with his driver

3. IDOLE DE BERGAULT – Off the boil for some time, latterly 9th of 10, behind INAO SAINT CLAIR (2), in a 2725m Pornichet Class F a fortnight ago. Disregard

4. INCOGNITO FAC – Easy winner at La Capelle before coming 3rd of 6 in a 2725m Pornichet Class F 3 weeks ago. Occasionally loses focus but starts in front and in present shape is not going to be far off the mark. Place chance

5. HERACLES DU VIVIER – Disappointing since coming 2nd here in May, most recently last but one in a 2725m Pornichet Class E a month ago. Has a lot going for him this time though and must not be underestimated

6. HIPPY DE LA COUDRE – Made up for his blip at Les Sables with 2nd of 11 in a 2800m Langon Class F 3 weeks ago. 25m worse off this time though and looks more a minor place prospect this time around

7. HERBAGER VRAC – Last of 11, behind HIPPY DE LA COUDRE (6), in a 2800m Langon Class F on 18 July. Shoes back on and will pose no danger

8. GEORGIO HAUFOR – Faulted in a 2600m Montignac Class F 3 weeks ago. Has failed to make any impact all year and is not about to start

9. FURY D’EVEL – Back in the professional ranks after finishing 5th of 7 in a 2875m Meslay-du-Maine Class F last week, and is not about to ruffle any feathers

10. ILMAT DES KECHES – Returned to winning ways with a facile success in a 2800m Langon Class G 3 weeks ago. In the frame in 2 of 3 here and, even with a 25m penalty, looks main threat to INAO SAINT CLAIR (2)

11. ICE TEA – Sanctioned in a 2425m Class F at Sainte-Marie-du-Mont on Sunday. Is  well-in on earnings and, with modified shoeing and Matthieu Abrivard reining, is unlikely to disappoint

Summary: It took some time but INAO SAINT CLAIR (2) showed at Pornichet that he is back at his best and, with Anthony Barrier in the wagon again, can repeat. That said, ILMAT DES KECHES (10) defied the handicap at Langon and, unshod behind for the first time, can do so again. INCOGNITO FAC (4) has been firing on all cylinders this term and is an obvious candidate for a place in the frame. HERACLES DU VIVIER (5) has been below-par of late but benefits from an excellent entry and can start to get back in the game.

1. ILLUSTRE SAX – Dropped the ball at Segré mid-July before putting things right when 2nd in a similar event here 9 days ago and, with Anthony Barrier back in charge, can have another day in the sun

2. IDEAL FONGUILLERES – Unremarkable type that came 6th behind ILLUSTRE SAX (1) in a Class F over course and distance late last month. Shoes back on and others preferred

3. IRONWOOD PARIS – Should not be too hastily-judged for coming 6th of 8 in a 2625m Montignac Class F 2 weeks ago after having impressed at Pornichet. Has shown improvement since moving yard and will be competitive for a place in the frame

4. ILCAR QUARTMA – Capable on a good day but sanctioned in last 2, most recently a 2625m Montignac Class F a fortnight ago and, reconfigured or not, will have few takers

5. INES DES COTEAUX – Barring a blip at La Capelle, has been in excellent shape, latterly 3rd of 11 in a 2650m Class F at Les Sables-d’Olonne on 13 July, and looks main threat to ILLUSTRE SAX (1)

6. ISOLACCIO – 4th behind ILLUSTRE SAX (1) in a Class F over course and distance late last month. Goes well for Matthieu Abrivard and will be competitive for a place on the podium

7. IMOUR DU VEILLEROT – Pleasant 3rd of 13 in a 2825m Class E at Sablé-sur-Sarthe 10 days ago and, in this category, will have little to contribute

8. INUKSHUK – Oddly below-par 6th of 9 in a 2550m Gabarret Class F on 29 July. Gave a good account here in March though and, with hind shoes off this time, will be worth monitoring

Summary: ILLUSTRE SAX (1) may not be the most dependable of horses but he came 2nd to a fine horse here late last month and looks just a marginally better choice than INES DES COTEAUX (5) who has been productive since the spring. IRONWOOD PARIS (3) has yet to make his mark here but is significantly better than his recent run would suggest and is well-placed to give this a good go.

SELECTIONS
ILLUSTRE SAX (1) – INES DES COTEAUX (5) – IRONWOOD PARIS (3) – ISOLACCIO (6)
C6 – PRIX PICOTY ATLANTIQUE – 2625m (a1m1/2) – Class F Race – Harness – EUR € 20,000

1. IVOIRE DU CHATELET – Unremarkable 6th of 10 in a 2725m Pornichet Class F last week and can be passed over

2. INVITATION LOVE – Makes just second start since the break, most recently sanctioned in a 2950m Biarritz Class F 3 weeks ago, and is unlikely to spring any surprises

3. IBACA – Sanctioned when being prepared for this in a 2625m Montignac Class F late last month. Is better than her numbers would suggest and must be taken seriously

4. ICARE PASSION – 8th of 12 behind I LOVE LATAL (8) in a 2475m Royan Class F 10 days ago and, with shoes on again, is not about to shake things up

5. INZAGHY – Has struggled this term, latterly 7th of 11 in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class F late last month, but will be reined by Anthony Barrier this time and should not be overlooked

6. INO PURPLE – Has started to come good over recent weeks, latterly 2nd of 10 in a 2150m Biarritz Class F a fortnight ago, and returns to a track he likes with legitimate ambition

7. IN ROCK DE PLAY – Races barefoot for the occasion after faulting in a 2625m Montignac Class F a fortnight ago. Benefits from a good entry and, with stride in check, should not be far from the action

8. I LOVE LATAL – Has hardly put a foot wrong for past 3 months, most recently winning a 2475m Royan Class F 10 days ago, making it 2 on the trot, and the hat-trick is well within his reach

9. IMOKO MADRIK – Continued his poor run of form when sanctioned in a 2650m amateurs Class G at Les Sables d’Olonne 12 days ago. Shoes on and no chance

10. IZAAC D’HAVAROCHE – Made up for his Ferté-Vidame sanction when successful in a 2825m Sablé-sur-Sarthe Class F 10 days ago, and with application, can confirm

Summary: The two big guns start on the back line here, with little to separate them, preference going to I LOVE LATAL (8) who simply thrives with Matthieu Abrivard reining. IZAAC D’HAVAROCHE (10) will be concentrating as much on confirming his recent success as thwarting his rival’s hat-trick bid. Solid here last month, IBACA (3) goes barefoot this time and the 25m head-start will do her prospects no disservice. In the frame in 2 of 3 here, INO PURPLE (6) is plainly close to his race and will not be easily pushed aside.

1. HAWK DES LOISES – 12th of 14 when preparing for this in a 2800m Langon harness Class G 3 weeks ago. Just hind shoes off this time and others easier to back

2. IGNACE GUENESERIE – Made up for his Caen sanction with victory in a 2850m Carentan Class E on 28 July. In better company this time but must still be retained as a minor place chance

3. ISIS WILD – 6th behind IGNACE GUENESERIE (2) in a 2850m Carentan Class E 10 days ago and will need to find significantly more

4. IL TROTTE JARL – Faulted in a 2825m Class E at Sablé-sur-Sarthe 10 days ago. Is otherwise as consistent as they come, but would be preferred barefoot. First 5 at best

5. ILEO PIERJI – Returns to the monté code after coming 6th of 10 in a 2725m Pornichet harness Class F a fortnight ago. Already 3 times a winner this season and must be afforded respect

6. HEVA BLONDE – Got back in the game 3 weeks ago when 2nd of 10 in a 2725m Pornichet Class E, and, entrusted to the talented Océane Briand, will have a lot to offer. Chance

7. FILOU DU RAVARY – Disappointing in last 5 starts, most recently 8th to FIER DE BOUERE (9) in a 2600m Montignac Class E a fortnight ago, and can be ruled out

8. HEVALONE DE GUEZ – Took her monté win-rate to 75% when successful in a 2575m Gabarret Class F late last month and, with application, will be hard to beat

9. FIER DE BOUERE – Endeavours to make it 3 on the trot after winning a 2600m Montignac Class E 2 weeks ago. Pitted against better this time but is unlikely to let the side down. Place prospect

Summary: 3 times a winner in 4 appearances under the saddle, HEVALONE DE GUEZ (8) most recently showed her form at Gabarret and, with a trouble-free run, should have this in the bag. The spirited HEVA BLONDE (6) however recently gave an excellent account in better company and will have her part to play, as will ILEO PIERJI (5) who has been entrusted to Anthony Barrier for the occasion. Like a horse reborn since returning to the discipline, FIER DE BOUERE (9) is unlikely to secure the 3-timer but can still make a decent fist of it.

1. IBRAHISCO – Last of 10 in a 2725m Pornichet Class F last week. Is no slouch when focused and, with some luck in running, can make first 5

2. HEAR DESTIN – Last of 6 in a 2775m amateurs Class F at Les Sables d’Olonne last Saturday and backs up with limited aspiration

3. IF DE LA COUDRE – 6th of 11 in a 2725m Pornichet monté Class F, when preparing for this on 11 July. Has good finishing speed, appreciates La Rochelle, and will be expected to finish close

4. IDOLE DELICE – 2nd of 8 in a 2800m Langon Class F on 30 July. Has just once disappointed when barefoot and will be no easy touch

5. HARLANN DU TEMPLE – Showed marked improvement when 3rd of 7 in a 2175m Biarritz Class H 2.5 weeks ago but, in this category, will have his work cut out

6. GIBSON TREMBLADAIS – A write-off since June 2023, most recently last of 10 in a 3000m Class F at  Neuillé-Pont-Pierre on Sunday. 4 pads fitted this time but still not a realistic proposition

7. IGUAL BLUE – Last of 7 in a 2400m Amiens monté Class G last Thursday. Has done nothing of note under harness since May 2023 and, even racing barefoot, is not about to change his ways

8. INDIEN DE FONTAINE – Failed to confirm his victory at La Capelle when 5th of 9 in a 2150m Mauquenchy Class E 2 weeks ago but takes a dip in category and even from the back row, has a realistic chance of imposing

9. INDIGO PIERJI – Has been knocking at the door lately, most recently 4th of 10 in a 2700m Segré Class F mid-July, and proven at the venue, looks a serious proposition

Summary: A winner at La Capelle before racing respectably at Mauquenchy, INDIEN DE FONTAINE (8) starts on the 2nd line here but drops in class and can return to victorious ways. The only other to incur the penalty, INDIGO PIERJI (9) showed his form on turf last time out and returns to a track he appreciates, shod to preference, with a good hand to play. Hard to knock when barefoot, IDOLE DELICE (4) put on a good show at Langon last week, starts in front, and will legitimately garner support, as will IF DE LA COUDRE (3) who has decent references at the venue.

PAMPELONNE (4) can be forgiven for her last run and judged on earlier, solid form. SPICHOPE (2) finished 10th on debut at Deauville and with natural progression can be expected to get a lot closer. SIXTTINA (6) is a daughter of Goken out of a Dutch Art mare that could go well first up.

She is confidently selected to go one more. DAMBULLA (5) is lightly raced and has plenty scope for improvement. SENZA TE (4) was a winner five starts back and has been not far off since. 11. CAPELENA – Finished 12th last time, 10th before that and would be a huge surprise if winning. Pass by

Summary: PELUSIVE (7) is holding her form and has a bright chance of getting it all right today. Her most recent run which was at Dieppe when 3rd over 1100m was good. PILE OU FACE (9) is a four time winner but went off form. His last run when fourth suggested that he is on the come back trail for better efforts. Include. Summary: THIRSTY (1) has turned the corner this year and seems to only be getting better with each run. He gets weight off the back and can reel off the hat-trick. GOLDINO BELLO (4) was narrowly denied in his quest for a four-timer and can get back to winning ways.  SIXUNION (9) has been a consistent performer and should be on the premises once again. RISING UP (4) is yet to taste success this year but continues to drop in the ratings and is another that could show up positively against slighter weaker company. Summary: SOKNA (1) has had to settle for that number two box in a few of her recent starts and could finally get her day in the sun with a bit of luck on her side. MEASTER OWEN (9) is better than his last and could find the drop in trip right up his alley. He should run well. SHIRBAWI (6) is yet to crack the maiden but has been threatening and should be a factor. SARALUCA (3) brings excellent form to the table and needs to be respected in his bid for a hat-trick.
