12. LOLITA DE LANDEMER – Below-par in last 3, most recently 8th of 10 in a Class E over course and distance late last month. 4 pads fitted for first time but still no more than a minor place chance
13. LOZEN DE BANVILLE – Back under harness after faulting in a 2250m monté Class E here a fortnight ago. On 2nd line and can be passed over

15. LIKE YOU DUSSAC – 7th of 9 in a 2300m Montier-en-Der Class F earlier in the month. Handed a rough draw and will not find this an easy test
Summary: Consistent for the most part and confirmed in this category, LANCELOT VENESI (2) lost out by the smallest of margins to LEADER DU LOISIR (9) in a similar event over longer here in late-June, but the former has a better spot behind the car and can turn the tables. Runner-up in good company at Cabourg mid-July, LIBRE PENSEUR MEEK (4) is well-placed to give this a good go. LADOTA PRIOR (6) pleased here last month and will be no pushover if Mathieu Mottier keeps her trotting.

7. LEMPICKA SEPT – Has taken to the monté code like a duck to water, pulling off the double in a 2525m Class E at Les Andelys late-June. Has freshness on her side and even though stepping up in category, still looks the horse to beat
8. LUCKY LADY D’AMOUR – Yet to disappoint under the saddle, most recently 3rd of 8 in a 2250m Class E here a fortnight ago. Will be fully-fit by now and can have her day in the sun
9. LUTTE DU LOGIS – 6th of 8 in a harness Class D over course and distance a month ago. Debuts under the saddle with a leading jockey in the irons and looks a player
Summary: Unbeaten in 2 monté starts after having shown little aptitude for the harness game, LEMPICKA SEPT (7) makes her metropolitan debut on a hat-trick and, with hind pads fitted this time, can pull it off. LUCKY LADY D’AMOUR (8), on the other hand, is useful in both codes and her recent Enghien performance augurs well for her chances. Just €5 from elimination, LUTTE DU LOGIS (9) races shod this time and the engagement of Paul Ploquin will do her prospects no disservice. LOLA DU LIVET (4) seems still to be rather green but her ability is not in question and, with Benjamin Rochard reining, is not to be underestimated.

Summary: A particularly capable filly that opened her account two months ago, L’ETOILE (4) is shod to preference this time, has been handed an excellent spot behind the car, and can win this. That said, she will still face considerable opposition from the similarly well-positioned, and freshly-configured, LUMIERE DU CHENE (3) who made up for her Enghien flop with victory at La Capelle, and LADY PRINCESS (1) who looks a decent candidate for the hat-trick. LADY D’ECAJEUL (8) is forced to start wide but she has consistency on her side and deserves to take her chances at this level.

11. KENTUCKY DERBY – Complicated type that faulted in a 2200m Agon-Coutainville Class F a week ago. Has merit, however, and with his trainer at the helm this time, can get back in the game

Summary: Improving with every run, KAPOOR D’OLMEN (9) made no bones about opening his account a month ago and, even though starting on the 2nd line here, he races first-time barefoot and should just have the measure of the on-form KIRIO DE REUX (1) who is unbeaten with Gabi Gelormini reining. KIKLOVE ATOUT (5) has been knocking at the door over recent months and is unlikely to disappoint. KENTUCKY SAM (8) starts wide but reverts to a successful configuration and, with Yoann Lebourgeois reining, will be afforded every chance.

Summary: Very much an open affair this, however preference just goes to the hardy, and reconfigured, JILIKA DU MESLE (8) who was not the most fortunate here 3 weeks ago. William Forniglia will be justifiably wary of JIMOKA (12) who reverts to a previous formula in a bid to put her recent sanctions to bed. JUANA DE SEY (3) raced better last time than the result would suggest and must be afforded respect, while recent Mauquenchy winner JOA DE LA LOUTRIE (6) will be dangerous if still on the boil.

Summary: A remarkable competitor that pulled off the 3-timer at Cabourg a fortnight ago, KRAKANTE (14) makes her Paris debut with every chance of making it a victorious one. Excellent when barefoot and recently a winner under these conditions, KINDY DU VIVIER (15) enjoys a good entry and looks a marginally better choice than the hat-trick-seeking KOMERE DE CORDAY (12) who also imposed at Enghien last time out. Nicely-in at the limit of earnings, KENTUCKY VALLEY (16) races barefoot for the first time, with Gabi Gelormini reining.

Summary: DUNE (2) and D’ORES ET DEJA (1) made promising introductions at Dieppe recently, finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively, and both would’ve benefitted from that experience. They are likely to fight for victory with improvement expected of both. OLYA (5) improved after a pleasing debut to finish 2nd last time out and, with further progress on the cards, could threaten those rivals. LINDERHOF (6) fits a similar profile and could make her presence felt too, if confirming/building on the improvement of her last start.

Summary: HARVEY (5) made an eye-catching debut at Chantilly last month – finished a promising 2nd over 1400m – and needn’t make much improvement to go one better and open his account. He gets the nod ahead of HOHENSCHWANGAU (3), who didnt go unnoticed either on his introduction (3rd) at Dieppe. NEUSCHWANSTEIN (1) is also likely to improve/build on his pleasing debut 6th, so shouldn’t be underestimated. Newcomer EGGLESTON (7) is one to keep an eye on with his rider taking 3,5kg off the back.

7. KIMFLY – Fair 3rd on her sole start at Brehal over 2850m on July 29th 18 days ago. In the mix with improvement likely
8. JOKE – 4th on the flat last time over 2600m at Mauron on July 28th, after some runs over jumps before that. Hard to recommend
Summary: JACOBIN (2) will be in a good frame of mind after a recent win at Mauron 18 days ago and looks like he can keep improving. He is a marginal choice ahead of JACK THOU LEZ (1) who is also a recent winner having scored at Senonnes 13 days ago. JANLY (3) has won twice in the summer and can be expected to have a say at the business end. KIMFLY (7) is also worth a mention.

9. SOMMERDANCE – Fair 4th at Clairefontaine over 1400m on June 28th in a handicap on her latest run. Warrants respect and can make the frame
10. ELTON – Has several unplaced runs of late, the latter over 2000m at Vichy on July 16th in a handicap. Hard to fancy
Summary: EXCESSIVENESS (1) ran a credible race on the PSF at Deauville 15 days ago, but will be happier this time and can score on a more favoured surface. He won at this track in May over today’s trip. E BASTA LA (5) looks like the main danger, he was a good second at Dieppe in late July when last appearing over a longer trip than today. LOVEFORCE (6) is one for the each-way backers to take seriously. SOMMERDANCE (9) makes up the shortlist.

Summary: In a competitive race, PERLE ROUGE (5) can edge this after some decent efforts in Class 1 races, the latest in late July at La Teste when she was fourth and beaten less than a length. MONTY (2) will make her work hard, he is not the force of old but is still good enough to have a say in proceedings. THE LAST WALTZ (6) looks the best of the other four, she will strip fitter for a credible effort when third in mid-July on her first run for nine months.
