1. RAIKE – Has been competing in Germany and comes into the race fresh off a victory over 1850m. Expect plenty here. Good chance

2. CORONADO – Placed 3rd over 2000m at La Teste on the 10th of July and can go very close. Strong each way

3. LOVELY HEART – Will need to improve plenty on latest 8th finish at Clairefontaine and far prefer others. Pass by

4. GRETZKY – Finished 6th over 1800m at Compiegne in a claiming race and can finish in the first four. Chance

5. SI CAPO SI – Was near the back in 14th place on debut and will need to do much more to place in this. Pass by

6. AVENTURA – She is by Mr Owen out of a Empire Maker mare that could be anything. Watch the betting trends as race time looms

Summary: CORONADO (2) is lightly raced and holding form. He finished an encouraging 3rd over 2000m last time and rates the one they all have to fear the most. RAIKE (1) lines up for the first time in France but was victorious in Denmark over 1850m last time out and could be anything here. Respect and include. GRETZKY (4) will need to progress on recent form but has placed before and can do so in this. Value suggestion for the first four. AVENTURA (6) could be good enough to finish in the money on debut. Watch the betting trends as race time looms.

5. FUTURE FATE – Finished 4th over 1800m in a Handicap at Dieppe last time and can get much closer today. Respect and include

9. VEGA OF SAINTS – Ignore last run when 6th, finished 4th over 2300m at Angers before that and has to be factored into all bets

12. LINFASOMMER – Attractive 2nd at Vichy over 1600m in a Handicap on the 20th of July and can go one more. Bright chance

13. APOLLON – Current form has been on the decline over various trips and is hard to fancy. Unlikley. No

14. SAADIYAT – Is hard to make a case for on current form and will need big improvement to threaten. Pass by

15. ALCOTAN – Fair 4th over 1900m in a Handicap at this track last month and can feature again. Place chance

16. KING OF TWIST – Was a winner three runs ago but has horrid form thereafter and would be a shock winner. No

Summary: LETTY’S MARVEL (3) finished 4th over 1900m in a competitive Handicap at Deauville last time and is never too far adrift the winners. He is the first selection. DEEP SEA (2) is a tad off form but did catch the eye when 2nd at Parislongchamp three starts back. She can be expected to do way better today. HARRISON POINT (8) boasts solid form and was a winner last time out. If he were to follow up, and win again, it would come as no shock at all. HENRY THE LION (6) can be expected to be roaring home to find a first four finish.

2. SIMMERING – Makes her French debut, was a winner over 1200m at Ascot in a Group 3 on the 27th of July. Strong claims

3. BOUVIER – Others will be way the stronger and is therefore best ignored. Pass by

Summary: FRAISE DES BOIS (4) has run 4 times for 4 victories including a Listed over 1200m at La Teste. She is confidently selected to remain unbeaten after this. SIMMERING (2) makes the local debut and was a winner over 1200m in a Group 3 at Ascot last month. Serious chance. C5 – PRIX DE POMONE – 2500m (a1m1/2) – TURF – Gr2 Race – Flat – EUR € 130,000

1. OTTERY – Nice 3rd in the Prix De Nieuil (Gr.2) at Parislongcamp on July 13th when last seen, and placed in a Listed race before that. Can not be overlooked

2. ONE EVENING – Unplaced on her return run in a Listed race at Newmarket(GBR) on July 20th over 2400m. Will strip fitter for that and is capable of being more competitive today

3. SWEET MEMORIES – 4th last time at Haydock (GBR) over 2370m in a Group 2 race on July 6th. Possibly the second string of the Gosden runners

4. TREVAUNANCE – Unplaced last time, 2nd before that over 2400m in a Group 3 race at Cork(IRL) on June 14th. Travels from Ireland but needs a few to falter

6. ANGEL GUIDANCE – Won her last two runs, the latter a Listed race at Saint-Cloud over 3000m on June 31st. Strong stayer who might need a bit further

7. AVENTURE – Decent 4th in the Prix De Diane (Gr.1) last time when beaten leas than a length on June 16th at Chantilly, she won a Group 3 race before that at Chantilly over 2400m on June 2nd. Live contender

Summary: A good fourth in the Prix De Diane(Gr.1) last time, AVENTURE (7) should be too smart for her older rivals. She looks like she is improving with race experience. OTTERY (1) is an honest performer and could be the one who makes the selection work hard for success. She was a decent third in the Prix De Nieuil (Gr.2) in mid-July at Parislongchamp on her latest start and has run well at this track previously. IZNIK (5) and ONE EVENING (2) are both respected and can also have a say at the finish.

SELECTIONS

C6 – PRIX DE LA MAISON DES QUATRANS – 1600m (a1m) – TURF – Class 3 Divided Handicap – Flat – EUR € 20,000

1. EAGLEHAWK – Decent 4th last time at Clairefontaine over 1600m in a Class 3 handicap on July 31st. Live chance

2. LADY PINK – Has five unplaced runs this year so far, the most recent over 1600m at La Teste in a Class 4 handicap on July 22nd. Hardly inspiring

3. PLENTY CITY – Has eased in the handicap after some unplaced runs of late, 5th at this track two weeks ago in a Class 4 race over 1400m and has each-way claims

4. LASCAUX DU NINIAN – Three unplaced runs so far, the latest over 1600m at Pompadour on July 28th in a Class 4 race. Handicap debut and best watched

5. ROYAL VATI – Three unplaced runs of late, won before that at Pau over 1600m on January 31st in a Class 4 handicap. Opposable

6. HERODION – Has several unplaced runs of late, the latter over 1100m at Dieppe on July 29th in a Class 4 race. Opposable

7. EL PROFESSOR CHOP – Has five unplaced runs since a win over 1400m at Compiegne on March 19th in a Class 4 handicap. Hard to recommend

9. PARISIAN BELLE – Has five unplaced runs of late, won before that over 1400m at Compiegne in a Class 4 handicap on March 19th. Needs to get back on track

10. ANGEL DUST – Won last time at Vichy over 1600m in a Class 4 handicap on July 20th. In good form and can be on the premises

12. OCTOBER CHOPE – Credible 4th last time over 1800m in a Class 4 handicap on August 2nd. One to keep safe

13. BLACK PANTHER – Has four unplaced runs of late, 4th before that over 1800m in a Class 4 race on June 2nd. Place chance

14. KIASTEP – Has six unplaced runs of late, the most recent over 1900m at Deauville in a Class 4 handicap on August 4th. Pass over

15. AL RASSOUL – 5th last time at Chateaubriant over 1950m in a Class 4 handicap on July 16th. Makes limited appeal

16. CALY ROSAY – Unplaced last time, 3rd before that over 1400m at Compiegne in a Class 4 handicap on June 12th. Makes no appeal

Summary: EAGLEHAWK (1) ran a pleasing race when fourth 17 days ago at Clairefontaine in a Class 3 handicap. In a race where a large portion of the field seems out of form, he can score off top-weight. ALPENGEIST (8) is likely to give the selection the most to do after a fourth-placed run at Compiegne in mid-July. ANGEL DUST (10) will be in a good frame of mind after scoring at Vichy late last month and looks like a good each-way option. OCTOBER CHOPE (12) is also worth a mention.

SELECTIONS

C7 – PRIX PARIS TURF (PRIX DE LA VILLA SAINT-AUGUSTIN) – 1600m (a1m) – TURF – Handicap – Flat – EUR € 40,000

1. HIT IT – Unplaced last time, 4th before that in a Listed race at Chantilly on May 11th over 1600m. Has place claims

2. ALFRED – Two unplaced runs of late, won before that at Chantilly on April 29th in a Class 2 race. Might find this difficult

3. AMERICAN LAWYER – Nice form of late, a good 2nd at Deauville on July 30th over 1900m in a handicap on the PSF last time. Improving and warrants respect

4. BABAKOOL – 5th last time in a Listed race, 2nd before that at Saint-Cloud in a Class 2 race on June 30th over 2400m. Down in trip and should have enough speed to cope

5. INDIE BRIGHT – 2nd on her last two runs, the latter over 1800m in a handicap at Parislongchamp on June 13th. Hard to dismiss

6. PALAZZO – Nice 3rd last time at this track over 1900m on the PSF in a handicap. Acts on turf and is among the leading chances

7. BLUE MOVES – 4th last time in a Class 2 race, won before that in a maiden at Compiegne over 1400m on May 24th. Lightly raced and has more to come

8. THAT’S LIFE – 5th last time on July 18th on her seasonal return over 1600m at Vichy. Should strip fitter this time and can be competitive

9. PRINCE OF CLOUDS – Good 3rd last time at Dieppe over 1800m in a handicap on July 29th. Ought to be in the shake-up

10. FOU FURIEUX – Unplaced last time, won before that over 1200m at Chantilly on July 2nd in a handicap. Looks vulnerable

Summary: BABAKOOL (4) has been running over further than this trip recently. Not quite up to the Listed Class last time he was a good second before that over 2000m in a Class 2 race in late June at Saint-Cloud. He should have the speed to cope and is given marginal preference to AMERICAN LAWYER (3) who has been in good heart of late. He acts on the turf and was a good second on the PSF last time at this venue 18 days ago. INDIE BRIGHT (5) and PRINCE OF CLOUDS (9) can fight it out for minor honours.

C8 – PRIX DE SAINT-WANDERILLE – 1900m (a1m1/4) – ALL WEATHER – Class 3 Divided Handicap – Flat – EUR € 27,000

3. EL MANIFICO – Three unplaced runs of late, 4th before that over 2000m at Parislongchamp on May 12th in a Class 3 handicap. Merits consideration

4. JESS LIVERMORE – Two unplaced runs this year, the latter over 1600m at Lyon Parilly in a handicap on June 24th. 3rd on the PSF at this track in November. Opposable

5. OXALIS – Won last time over 1600m at Pompadour in a Class 4 race on July 28th, has won on the PSF at Chantilly in 2023. Outside place chance

9. ZILRAK – Fair 2nd at Clairefontaine behind COGNAC (8) over 2200m on July 27th on the most recent run in a Class 4 race. One to pay attention too

10. IN PARADISE – Two unplaced runs recently, 4th before that over 2000m in a Class 4 race at Parislongchamp on June 13th. Looks vulnerable

11. CALCUTTA CUP – Three unplaced runs since a win over 1800m at Compiegne on March 10th at Compiegne. Needs to bounce back to form

12. LUCI DEL FARO – Two good 3rd placed runs of late, the latter of them over 1900m at Deauville in a Class 3 handicap on July 30th. Course and distance winner before and looks a player

Summary: RECOLETTY (2) is the tentative selection in an open handicap. He ran well over the course and distance when third 20 days ago and has probably the most to fear from LUCI DEL FARO (12) who has a good racing weight and has been third on his last two runs at this venue. MELBORA (1) scored over track and trip last time at the end of July and can not be ruled out. COGNAC (8) got a confidence booster when winning at Clairefontaine last time and is also one to be considered.

3. RESTLESS SPIRIT – Fair 4th in a Class 3 handicap at Clairefontaine on June 28th over 1600m when last seen. In the mix

4. OYAPOCK – Has dropped in the handicap to a decent rating and faired well when fifth in a Class 3 handicap over 1600m at Clairefontaine on July 31st. Can be involved

5. ORANGE VIF – Credible 3rd last time at Vichy on August 7th in a Class 4 handicap, consistent performer who warrants respect

6. EXCITING – Unplaced last time, 3rd before that over 1800m in a Class 3 handicap at Clairefontaine on June 28th. Can play a lead role

7. TIME TO PARLEY – 3rd on the last two runs, won before that over 1600m at Nantes on June 18th in a Class 3 handicap. Others make more appeal

8. MY FLINDERS – 4th last time over 1600m in a Class 3 handicap on July 12th. Can make the frame at nice odds

9. CAREGIVER – Nice 2nd in a Class 3 handicap at Clairefontaine on July 31st over 1600m when last appearing. Can make the top four

10. ROUVRAY – Won last time at Vichy over 1600m in a Class 4 handicap on July 20th. Not the most reliable

11. ROXY MUSIC – Two unplaced runs of late, 2nd before that over 1300m in a Class 4 race at Argentan on June 5th. Needs to get back on track

12. MON SIOUX – Two unplaced runs of late, 2nd before that over 1800m in a Class 3 handicap on June 28th at Clairefontaine. Consider

13. DOUBLE EFFECT – Unplaced last time, 4th before that at Argentan on June 5th in a Class 4 race over 2100m. Unlikely to threaten

14. CRACKNELL – Has several unplaced runs so far, the latest run was over 1600m in a Class 3 handicap when he was 5th. Opposable

15. RUBIS GOLD – 3rd last time over 1600m at Compiegne in a Class 3 handicap on July 12th. Has place claims

16. FASTER – Has five unplaced runs this year, the latter over 1600m in a Class 3 handicap on August 6th at Deauville. Hardly inspiring

17. ZELZALITA – 3rd last time at Clairefontaine over 1600m in a Class 3 handicap on July 31st. Hard to recommend

Summary: EXCITING (6) can score in what looks to be an open handicap. He was a good third at Clairefontaine two starts ago and edges this from OYAPOCK (4) who has dropped in the handicap to a reasonable rating and ran a more promising race 17 days ago at Clairefontaine when fifth, which was encouraging. RESTLESS SPIRIT (3) could be a good option for the each-way backers to look at. CAREGIVER (9) makes up the shortlist.

C1 – PRIX PARISTURF (PRIX DE DINARD) – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 49,000

1. INTREPIDE DES BOIS – Runner-up in last 2, most recently a 2425m Class F at Sainte-Marie-du-Mont earlier in the month. In superior company this time around and others easier to back

2. INFIEL – Made the frame in 3 of last 4, latterly 3rd to INDIAN PACIFIC (8) in a 2875m Enghien Class D 2 weeks ago. Not a leading contender but can still pick up a slice of the pie

3. INDIC – Hard to fault at present, most recently runner-up to INDIAN PACIFIC (8) in a 2875m Enghien Class D a fortnight ago. Denied a run that day and can turn the tables if David Békaert keeps him out of trouble

4. INFERNA DE HOUELLE – Won 2 of last 3, most recently a 2875m Enghien Class D a fortnight ago. Is not the biggest fan of Vincennes but has previously won over 2700m here and could pleasantly surprise

5. HOUSTON DE JOUDES – Disappointing since returning from his break, latterly last but one in a 3025m Class F at Montier-en-Der 2 weeks ago, and has no possible chance

6. IMAGE D’ATALANTE – 5th behind IZIA DE MONGIVAL (9) in a 2725m Pornichet Class F on 25 July. Hind shoes off for the first time but still no more than a minor place prospect

7. INKY PERRINE – Made it 2 straight sanctions when faulting in a 3000m Class F at Neuillé-Pont-Pierre 2 weeks ago. Has ample ability but will first need to re-establish her credentials

8. INDIAN PACIFIC – Impressive winner of a 2875m Enghien Class D a fortnight ago. Seldom disappoints when barefoot and focused, and has a realistic chance of doubling his money

9. IZIA DE MONGIVAL – 3rd of 10 in a 2725m Pornichet Class F late last month. Seldom disappoints at Vincennes these days and will be no pushover

Summary: Winner at La Capelle before running [an unlucky] 2nd to INDIAN PACIFIC (8) across town a fortnight ago, INDIC (3) is capable of exacting revenge, provided he is afforded a run this time. Solid as a rock since the spring, IZIA DE MONGIVAL (9) enjoys a good entry and has already won under these conditions this season. INFERNA DE HOUELLE (4) has won 2 of her last 3 and, with application, can again figure prominently.

C2 – PRIX LEGOUX-LONGPRE – 2175m (a1m1/4) – Gr3 Race – Mounted – EUR € 85,000

1. JOKER DE FROULAY – Has gone from strength to strength lately, most recently 2nd of 7 in a 2875m Enghien Class D a week ago, but takes a hike up the category-ladder and others preferred

2. JASON DU CONROY – 10th of 11 behind JASPER DES CHARMES (8) in a 2750m Cabourg harness Class A 2 weeks ago. Races barefoot for the first time this season and should not be written off

3. JUNE – Left a good impression on re-entry 3 weeks ago, coming 3rd, a place behind JAZZ IN MONTREUX (7), in a 2775m Class C at Les Sables-d’Olonne. Consistently acquits herself honourably and will be competitive for a place on the podium

4. JASPERS TURGOT – 7th of 10 in a 2700m Graignes harness Class D conditioner early August. Makes first monté start for over 2 years and best to monitor

5. JUST FOR BACK – Excellent servant under the saddle with 2 conditioners under his belt, most recently last of 11 behind JASPER DES CHARMES (8) in a 2750m Cabourg harness Class A a fortnight ago. Barefoot this time and no pushover

6. KAPAULA DE L’EPINE – Sanctioned when prepping for this in a 2875m Enghien harness Gr.3 early last month. Worth remembering her 2 Gr.2 victories during the winter meeting and, reverting to a proven formula, will not be far from the action

7. JAZZ IN MONTREUX – Serious trotter that ran 2nd in a 2775m Class C at Les Sables-d’Olonne 3 weeks ago. Won this race as a 4yo and, in current condition, is very easy to like. Chance

8. JASPER DES CHARMES – Gr.1 winner that has not had it easy this term. Reassured with success in a 2750m Cabourg harness Class A a fortnight ago and, on good behaviour, can make this his own

Summary: Superb at 4, JASPER DES CHARMES (8) struggled for much of 2024 before winning a decent Cabourg harness event earlier this month and, entrusted to Alexandre Abrivard for the occasion, can produce the goods and win this. A force when barefoot and focused, JAZZ IN MONTREUX (7) will be no easy touch if Nathalie Henry keeps him trotting. JUST FOR BACK (5) will be fit by now, appreciates Vincennes, and will be expected to finish close.

1. KEMILLA DE BRION – Takes a massive leap in category after winning a 2625m Class D at La Rochelle late last month and while clearly capable, does not look up to the task

2. KOSANOSTRA – Has taken her game to a new level this year, most recently 3rd of 12 in a 2875m Enghien Class C 9 days ago. In exalted company this time though and appears to be biting off more than she can chew

3. KOTKIE – Won her 2nd of the year in a 2150m Cagnes Class B on 22 July. Takes on a serious bunch this time though and chances slim

4. KANAKA DE BUSSET – Unexceptional 6th of 9 in a 2875m Enghien Class B a week ago and is not about to influence the outcome

5. KOUFRA IRIS’EYES – 4th to KOKOTE (8) in a 2150m Enghien Class C on 10 July. Takes a leap in category but is a game filly and can get a look-in

6. KEMIA DU CHENE – 3rd to KELLE BEAUTE (10) in Gr.2 Prix Guy le Gonidec before winning a 2100m Class C here late-June. Has never disappointed when unshod and is not about to start. Place chance

7. KEEN WINNER – Makes first foray into Gr.2 territory after trotting 8th of 14 in Gr.3 Prix de Milan over 2150m at Enghien a month ago. Raced better that day than the result would suggest and is not to be underestimated

8. KOKOTE – Consistent campaigner stepping back up in category after coming 4th of 9 in a 2875m Enghien Class B 3 weeks ago. Has never tackled 2175m but on current trajectory, looks a player

9. KIARA DE VANDEL – 4th of 9, on return from a spell, in a 2875m Enghien Class B a week ago. Will have come on for the run but still looks out of her depth

10. KELLE BEAUTE – Beat a number of these in Gr.2 Prix Guy le Gonidec early-June before being sanctioned, when shod, in a 2875m Enghien Gr.3 earlier this month. Shoes off this time and can claim her 2nd Gr.2 victory

11. KABAKA DE GUEZ – Respectable 5th of 9 finishers in a 2875m Enghien Gr.3 a fortnight ago. Has done nothing noteworthy at this level since last autumn and is unlikely to spring any surprises

12. KATINKA DU MOUCHEL – 3rd of 12, on just 2nd start back, in a 2850m Meslay-du-Maine Class B late-July. Has references at the highest level and, if focused, can get in on the action

13. KYRIELLE DES VAUX – Unraced since winning a 2850m monté Gr.1 here on 23 June. Runs for reasons of conditioning and can be ruled out

14. KANA DE BEYLEV – Sanctioned when preparing for this in a 2875m Enghien Gr.3 a fortnight ago. Boasts 1’10”4 over a trip she adores and is very much a live chance

Summary: For the main protagonists, this is a re-run of June’s Gr.2 Prix Guy le Gonidec. Won on that occasion by the improving KELLE BEAUTE (10), she races barefoot and should again have the edge over runner-up, the unshod KANA DE BEYLEV (14) who can boast a good turn of foot. Third that day before winning over 2100m here 3 weeks later, KEMIA DU CHENE (6) will again have her chances, but may first have to defer to a barefoot KEEN WINNER (7) whose recent Enghien result belied the impressive nature of her finish.

1. LAKARA – 2nd of 7 finishers in a 3000m Class B at Rochefort-sur-Loire 12 days ago. Well-regarded at home, sports hind pads for the occasion, but others still preferred

2. LILI DRY – Never far from faulting but has ample talent, most recently 2nd of 8 in a 2875m Enghien Class B last weekend. Arguably better under the saddle though and can be passed over

3. LIPANGA DE GUEZ – 5th of 7 finishers, behind LAKARA (1), in a 3000m Class B at Rochefort-sur-Loire 12 days ago. Shod to preference this time but still appears to have too much to do

4. LOVE LETTER – 4th to LUSH LIFE (5) in a 2875m Enghien Class A 3 weeks ago. Entrusted to Alexandre Abrivard for first time and should be competitive for a place in the frame

5. LUSH LIFE – Put a brace of sanctions behind her when 2nd of 10 finishers in a 2875m Enghien Class A 3 weeks ago. Has never delivered in this category however and chances appear limited

6. LA FEE DU NOYER – Runner-up in both return runs, most recently to LONDON (9) in 2700m Gr.3 Prix d’Istres at Vincennes on 7 June. Just front pads fitted for the first time and although unseen for over 2 months, must not be overlooked

7. LITTLE STRAWBERRY – Pleasant 5th of 9 in a 2800m Bernay Class B 3 weeks ago, on first start for 6 months. Just front pads fitted for first time but may still need the run

8. LILAS CASTELLE – Faulted in last 2, latterly when prepping for this in a 3000m Class B at Rochefort-sur-Loire 12 days ago, and must get her house in order

9. LONDON – Sanctioned in last 2, most recently the 2875m Gr.3 Prix de Berlin at Enghien a fortnight ago. Would have finished 3rd that day had she stayed in stride and, with application, will have an important role to play here

10. LADY – Respectable 4th of 8 finishers in 2875m Gr.3 Prix de Berlin at Enghien 2 weeks ago. Has references at this level and looks a decent first-5 chance

11. LET ME SHINE GIO – Back under harness after faulting in 2700m monté Gr.1 Prix d’Essai at Vincennes late-June. 4 pads fitted this time but still not easy to make a case

12. LOTTA BOURBON – 5th in Prix Ozo before faulting early in Prix Albert Viel late-June. Won at this level during the spring and, with application, can get back in the game

13. LIZA JOSSELYN – Easily won Gr.2 Prix Ozo at Vincennes before finishing a valiant 3rd of 11 finishers in 2700m Gr.1 Prix Albert Viel at the same venue late-June. Unbeaten in 2 starts over 2175m here and looks set to continue her forward charge

14. LOUISIANE DE BOMO – 4th, a place behind LADY (10), in Gr.3 Prix Henri Cravoisier over a mile here on 20 July. Posted her fastest time that day and, already a Gr.2 winner under these conditions, must be taken seriously

Summary: Third in the Gr.1 Prix Albert Viel in late-June, LIZA JOSSELYN (13) is back among her contemporaries, shod for the occasion, and should have this in the bag. JMB will still be keeping a keen eye on the complicated but talented LONDON (9) who showed her form across town recently, and LOUISIANE DE BOMO (14) who consistently fires on all cylinders. LOVE LETTER (4) gets a top pilot this time around and will justifiably generate interest.

1. KANTO AVIS – Honest colt that finished 5th behind KNOCKONWOOD (3) in 2150m Gr.3 Prix de Milan at Enghien on 20 July. Has otherwise been in fine shape and is not about to go home empty-handed

2. KHAL’S FELLA – Unraced since coming 5th behind KOCTEL DU DAIN (10) in 2700m Gr.2 Prix Jules Thibault here on 8 June. Shod for competition but not an obvious choice on this occasion

3. KNOCKONWOOD – Like a new horse since starting to race in the day’s configuration, most recently winning 2875m Gr.3 Prix de Genève at Enghien a fortnight ago. Has never delivered at Gr.2 level but this nevertheless looks an ideal opportunity. Claim

4. KARLITO – Returned successfully to competition 2.5 weeks ago, winning a 2850m Meslay-du-Maine Class B. Back at a track he likes, with morale intact, and is unlikely to be far off the mark

5. KEEP GOING – Won Gr.3 Prix Raymond Fouard late-June before finishing 3rd, a place behind KNOCKONWOOD (3), in 2150m Gr.3 Prix de Milan at Enghien a month ago, and will be expected to run him close again

6. KRISTAL JOSSELYN – 10th of 14, after faulting at the start, in 2150m Gr.3 Prix de Milan at Enghien a month ago. Has placed just once in 8 this term and will need to find considerably more

7. KSAR – 2nd in Gr.2 Prix Jules Thibault before coming 5th of 8 to KEEP GOING (5) in Gr.3 Prix Raymond Fouard over course and distance late-June. Is not about to win this but nonetheless has the wherewithal to make first 5

8. KING OPERA – Somewhat unlucky 4th behind KNOCKONWOOD (3) in 2150m Gr.3 Prix de Milan at Enghien a month ago. Shoes on this time though and best to wait

9. KYT KAT – Lacklustre last of 7 finishers in 2850m monté Gr.1 Prix du Président de la République here on 23 June. Has other priorities and can be ruled out

10. KOCTEL DU DAIN – Classy colt that ran 4th to KNOCKONWOOD (3) in Gr.3 Prix de Genève over 2875m at Enghien 2 weeks ago. Thrives over 2175m here and will be competitive for the win

Summary: Simply excellent when winning the Gr.3 Prix de Genève earlier this month, KNOCKONWOOD (3) has earned the right to race at this level and a similar effort would see him confirm. That being said, KEEP GOING (5) came a fast-finishing 3 behind him in the Gr.3 Prix de Milan and is not incapable of turning the tables. By some margin the wealthiest horse here, KOCTEL DU DAIN (10)  has never disappointed under these conditions, sports a new configuration, and is similarly a serious contender. Barefoot for the first time after imposing on comeback last month, KARLITO (4) is most certainly one for the short-list.

2. JOCONDE SIBEY – Did not enjoy the best of trips, finishing 8th behind JAMIN DE BRION (3) in a 2150m Enghien Class B earlier this month. Is confirmed at Gr.2 level, races barefoot this time, and can play a small part

3. JAMIN DE BRION – 2nd of 13 in a 2150m Enghien Class B 9 days ago. Beat a number of these in Prix Jean le Gonidec in June, and will be no easy touch

4. JUST A MIDI – Has done nothing but improve since returning to competition, most recently winning a 2875m Enghien Gr.3 early last month. Ran 4th in Prix Jean le Gonidec and will have his supporters

5. JANGO VICI – Makes first appearance since coming 2nd of 14 in a 2850m Vincennes Gr.3 on 23 June. Just front pads fitted this time and can be passed over

6. JAZZMAN DEBAILLEUL – Serious trotter that was denied a run on comeback 2 weeks ago, finishing 2nd of 11 in a 2750m Cabourg Class A. Has been a revelation since last autumn and has every chance of making the frame here

7. JAG STRYCK – 7th behind JAZZMAN DEBAILLEUL (6) in a 2750m Cabourg Class A on 2 August. Not as sharp as he was earlier in the season and will not be troubling the judge

8. JACK TONIC – 2nd to JAMIN DE BRION (3) in Gr.2 Prix Jean le Gonidec before trotting 3rd, a place behind JAZZMAN DEBAILLEUL (6), in a 2750m Cabourg Class A a fortnight ago. Clearly in excellent shape and can make first 5

9. JOYNER SPORT – Last but one in a 2950m Saint-Malo Gr.3 10 days ago. Stays shod and will have other priorities

10. JUSTIN BOLD – 5th to JUSHUA TREE (13) in 2875m Gr.2 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardère at Enghien 3 weeks ago. Won a Gr.2 for Yoann Lebourgeois last time at the venue and will be justifiably well-supported

11. JOSH POWER – 4th of 10, when prepping for this, in a 2700m Graignes Class D earlier in the month. Has excellent references in this class of race and looks main threat to JUSHUA TREE (13)

12. JUST LOVE YOU – Complicated but talented mare making first appearance since faulting in Gr.2 Prix Jean le Gonidec over course and distance early-June. Shoes on and best to hold off

13. JUSHUA TREE – A veritable powerhouse that made short work of 2875m Gr.2 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardère at Enghien 3 weeks ago. Is unbeaten over 2175m and will be expected to make this his own

Summary: After 5.5 months off the track, JMB’s extraordinary JUSHUA TREE (13) ran rings around the opposition in the Gr.2 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardère across town on comeback, and confidently bids to remain unbeaten under these conditions. Principal resistance comprises the ultra-consistent JOSH POWER (11) who is barefoot following a brace of conditioners, and the reinvigorated JAZZMAN DEBAILLEUL (6) whose re-entry run bodes well for his chances. JUSTIN BOLD (10) consistently gives his best and although unproven over 2175m here, he reverts to racing unshod-behind and his candidacy warrants respect.

2. LOGAN JIEL – 3rd to LIGHT MY FIRE (3) in a 2875m Enghien Class A on 27 July. Benjamin Rochard reining this time but still not a priority

3. LIGHT MY FIRE – Won 2 of last 3, most recently a 2875m Enghien Class A with ease 3 weeks ago. Has never been tested at this level but can still play a small role

4. LITTLE BROWN – 3rd of 8 to LUCIANO MENUET (9) in 2875m Gr.3 Prix de Berlin 2 weeks ago. Has yet to deliver in this grade of race and will not be springing any surprises

5. LUCKY JACKSON – Won Gr.2 Prix Kalmia before finishing last but one in 2700m Gr.1 Prix Albert Viel on 23 June. Has had time to get his house in order though and is unlikely to be far off the mark this time

6. LOULOU DE MYE – Put in a good effort to run 2nd to LOMBOK JIEL (7) in Gr.1 Prix Albert Viel over 2700m at Vincennes late-June. Has hind pads fitted again and deserves to be taken more seriously this time around

7. LOMBOK JIEL – Met little opposition en route to 2700m Gr.1 Prix Albert Viel success on 23 June. Pads off this time and may have to bow to LOVINO BELLO (8)

8. LOVINO BELLO – Made short work of a 1609m Enghien Gr.3 a month ago, making up somewhat for faulting in Gr.1 Prix Albert Viel, and a repeat performance could well see him impose

9. LUCIANO MENUET – Put his Gr.1 Prix Albert Viel blip behind him when winning 2875m Gr.3 Prix de Berlin at Enghien 2 weeks ago. Has nothing to prove at this level, gets on well with Lebourgeois, and must be considered a serious proposition

Summary: LOVINO BELLO (8) put in a time of 1’09”7 in the Gr.3 Prix Henri Cravoisier over a mile at Enghien last month and, with Eric Raffin being ably replaced by Alexandre Abrivard, can repeat. LOMBOK JIEL (7) returns to racing shod after his fine Prix Albert Viel victory but is still competitive for success. LUCIANO MENUET (9) put the record straight at Enghien a fortnight ago and is similarly in with a shout. Albert Viel runner-up LOULOU DE MYE (6) will not be available at 25/1 this time around.

2. LIBERO DU DONJON – 5th behind LERWICK PERRINE (3) in a 2875m Enghien Class D earlier in the month. Is not without merit but will nevertheless need to step up his game

3. LERWICK PERRINE – Runner-up in his last 2, latterly a 2875m Enghien Class D 9 days ago. Is plainly close to his race and the addition of front pads could yet make all the difference

4. LOTUS PAULOIS – 4th behind LERWICK PERRINE (3) in a 2875m Enghien Class D earlier this month. Takes on a tougher bunch this time around though and chances limited

5. LAST KINGDOM – Quality future prospect that came in last of 7, on re-entry, in a 2750m Cabourg harness Class D 3 weeks ago. Comes here fresh and is not to be underestimated

6. LYNX D’URZY – Failed to confirm his Vichy success when sanctioned in a 2850m Class C here in early-June. Shoes on this time but will be fresh and can get a look-in

7. LANCELOT PLATANES – Returns to the monté discipline after faulting in a 2750m Cabourg harness Class D 3 weeks ago. In this category though, will have little to contribute

8. LOCHAN – A thorough professional since last month’s debut, latterly 2nd of 7 in a 2250m Enghien Class E 3 weeks ago. Is going from strength to strength and has a realistic chance of bringing home the bacon

9. LITTLE DRAGON – Back under the saddle after faulting in a 2700m Graignes harness Class B a week ago. Is better than his numbers would imply and the engagement of Benjamin Rochard will do his prospects no disservice

10. LOTI SOLO – Has thrived since embarking on his new vocation, comes here fresh after having run 2nd in a Class D over course and distance late-June, and should be good enough to give LOCHAN (8) a run for his money

Summary: LOCHAN (8) has not put a foot wrong in any of his 3 starts to date and, progressing with every run, has a legitimate claim on the trophy. Anthony Barrier will still want to be wary of LOTI SOLO (10) who is like a horse reborn since switching disciplines, and the promising but tricky LITTLE DRAGON (9) who showed considerable potential during the spring. LAST KINGDOM (5) may have just the one run under his belt but he went into his break on a good note and, front pads fitted with Mathieu Mottier in the irons, looks a decent proposition.
