JACKY (4) is seldom far off the action and has the right type of form to win in a race of this nature. MANDRES (2) is far less exposed than majority of these and has plenty of scope for improvement. KETAMINE BAILLY (5) wasn’t disgraced last time out and a similar effort will see her in the mix.

Summary: DONEGAL (2) has posted two encouraging efforts to date and looks to have found the right field to break the ice. The slight increase in trip should see him playing a leading role. LOVELY DREAM (4) steps up in distance and with natural improvement should be in the firing line. UMINEKO (7) bumped into a useful sort on debut but should have learnt plenty and can be a factor. Summary: KOWALSKI (3) finished behind Vuldetrade but finds himself 4kgs better off at the weights which should swing things in his favor and he could get the job done. HONEY BADGER (7) produced a solid finish last time out and a repeat of that effort, will see him fighting it out. MON FLAMANT (1) won early on in his career and hasn’t been able to kick on but this seems to be the right type of race for him to produce a big performance. VULDETRADE (2) is held at the weights but has confidence on her side which could aid her chances in potentially going back to back.

2. MARIE MANCINI – Unbeaten in 2 starts as a two-year-old in 2023 and has maintained her form/consistency in handicaps this season. Runner-up in a 1400m handicap at this level in her last start at Vichy on 16 July
3. CHANEL GOLD – Won a 1400m ParisLongchamp handicap in April but has finished unplaced in 4 consecutive Quinte+ races, the latest (13th) on PSF at this venue over 1400m on 30 July. Back to a competitive mark with headgear on
4. LOVELY ANGEL – Consistent, hard-knocking handicapper with solid form credentials – finished 5th in a handicap at a higher level over 1200m at this venue on 15 August. Winning chance back over 1400m
5. ZEPLACETOBE – Runner-up in a Salon-de-Provence handicap over 1100m on her reappearance in April but soundly beaten in consecutive/subsequent Quinte+ events over 1300m at ParisLongchamp – the latest (14th) on 9 May
6. ATLANTIC WAYS – Has maintained a good level of form and consistency, albeit without success (7-start maiden). Finished 4th in a Quinte+ event on her handicap debut and was 3rd in a 1300m handicap on this course on 3 August
7. KARELIA – Soundly beaten (unplaced) in her 4 handicap appearances. Finished a well-beaten 15th in a handicap over 1400m on PSF last time out (30 July) – others preferred
8. SLEEPY SUZY – Won back-to-back 1600m handicaps before finishing 2nd off her current mark (under 3,5kg penalty) in a 1400m claimer at Dieppe on 29 July. Has upset potential
9. BABETTE – Debut winner at this venue over 1500m on PSF in August last year. Yet to finish on the podium in 4 outings this term and was only 8th over 1400m at Clairefontaine on 9 August – makes her handicap debut here
10. MILAD – Rewarded for consistency with a breakthrough victory (the first of her career) in a conditions race at Vittel over 1600m on 2 August. Up 1,5kg on her return to the handicaps
11. MISS MAI TAI – Hard-knocking filly with sound handicap references on both surfaces, including a 1400m Saint-Cloud win before a last-start 6th in a 1400m PSF handicap at this venue on 30 July. Attractive outsider
12. TRUE VALUE – Bounced back to form with headgear refitted to finish 2nd in a 1600m claimer at Clairefontaine on 2 August
13. LUNALA – Honest hard-knocker with sound references on both surfaces off higher marks. Didnt go unnoticed in a PSF handicap (6th) over 1500m at this venue on 8 August and has been dropped a further 1,5kg – dark horse
14. BELL SONG – Rediscovered her form/consistency in 1400m claiming races recently, the latest (4th) at Dieppe on 29 July. Has more to do back in a handicap
15. MIELA – Inconsistent but has sound references, including a handicap victory over 1350m at Lyon-Parilly on 2 July. Has upset potential
16. PARURE DES SABLES – Has rediscovered form and consistency since dropping to her current mark, albeit in the claiming category. Finished 3rd on PSF over 1300m at this venue on 10 August – more needed back in a handicap
17. SIMANCAS – Unplaced in all 5 handicap appearances, the latest (11th) over 1800m on turf at Chantilly on 14 July. Others preferred
18. BLACK CESS – Veteran mare with sound handicap references, including a 1600m victory off a higher mark in September last year. Out of sorts recently and not likely to trouble the judge – only 8th over 1600m last time (31 July)
Summary: LOVELY ANGEL (4) held her own at a higher level last time, finishing a creditable 5th in a handicap over 1200m on this course and the return to 1400m coupled with the slight ease in grade will serve her interests, especially on rain-softened ground. She gets the nod ahead of ATLANTIC WAYS (6), runner-up in 2 of her last 3 starts including her latest on this straight course behind a class-dropping colt. Consistent MARIE MANCINI (2) has the form and experience to acquit herself well against older rivals, while LUNALA (13) and last-start winner MILAD (10) are attractive outsiders with the means to make their presence felt too.

1. VAYDENA – On the podium in 2 of 3 appearances with Théo Bachelot aboard, including her last start when 2nd in the reference race (course-and-distance handicap) on 4 August. Candidate for success
2. MY LORD – Out of sorts and has no references on this surface. Soundly beaten (12th) in a 2000m turf handicap at this venue on 10 August
3. PANJAMAN – Former Quinté+ winner who has plummeted in the weights/ratings to a dangerous mark. Finished 7th in a 2200m conditions race on turf at Clairefontaine on 27 July but may well fare better here
4. VENES – Inconsistent gelding whose best references on this surface were achieved at a lower level. Unplaced (15th) in a 1300m handicap on this course on 8 August
5. SECOND TO NONE – A proven PSF performer with sound references. Unplaced in back-to-back turf handicaps recently at Vittel, the latest (5th) over 2400m on 12 August
6. LE TROPIC – Caught the eye when 4th in the reference race on 4 August in a course-and-distance handicap. With Christophe Soumillon in the irons, his candidacy for success is undeniable
7. LUCI DEL FARO – Made no impression when only 9th in a course-and-distance handicap recently (17 August) but she remains capable of much better – finished 3rd over track and trip on 30 July. Can make amends
8. POLMINHAC – Unreliable handicapper whose 2 career wins were achieved over this track and trip. Bounced back to form with an encouraging last-start 5th in a course-and-distance handicap on 30 July – keep safe
9. MARTIAL ART – Capable hard-knocker with references at this level in PSF handicaps off higher marks. Disappointed recently – only 9th over track and trip on 30 July – but he shouldn’t be underestimated
10. MAGIC TUNIS – Finished an eye-catching 3rd in the benchmark race (course-and-distance handicap) on 4 August. On the shortlist
11. EXCITING – Subject of ‘track talk’ in his last 2 appearances but finished unplaced in both – the latest (14th) over 1600m in a turf handicap at this venue on 17 August. Finished 6th over track and trip on 4 August
12. JUSSIFER – Hard-knocking veteran handicapper who is seldom far off the mark. Didn’t go unnoticed when 6th in a 2000m turf handicap at Vichy on 17 July
13. MARVANCO – Went off the boil in April and has finished unplaced in 3 consecutive outings. Soundly beaten (10th) in a course-and-distance handicap on 4 August
Summary: LUCI DEL FARO (7) was unsuited to how the race panned out last time and, as such, shouldn’t be hastily condemned for that performance. She could be worth siding with here and is preferred to VAYDENA (1) who should fight for victory if confirming the improvement of her last start (2nd) from a favourable No 2 gate. LE TROPIC (6) is a proven performer on this course and could make life difficult for those rivals. EXCITING (11) will appreciate the return to PSF and has the means to make his presence felt too in a race of this ilk.

2. SEE YOU PINK – Disappointing at this level recently and soundly beaten (13th) in a 1200m claimer on this course on 1 August. Has the means to do better
3. ALLURRE – Didn’t go unnoticed when 6th in a 2000m Quinté+ at Lyon-Parilly in June against male opposition and has confirmed that form with a good 4th over 1800m at Aix-les-Bains on 14 July. Place chance
4. LA BELLE POETE – Outfought in the latter stages, finishing 8th on this course in her first Quinte+ appearance (3 August) over 1300m. Outsider
5. PEACEFUL SEA – Soundly beaten in her 2 Quinte+ appearances (both at Saint-Cloud), the latest over 1400m on 30 June – could only finish 13th. Others preferred
6. FREJA – Consistent mare with sound references/form credentials at this level, including a last-start 3rd over track and trip on 30 July. High on the shortlist
7. ALVA – Model of consistency at this level, even against male opposition. Didn’t go unn noticed when 5th in a 1600m Quinte+ at Compiegne on 22 July
8. DARI RIVER – Finished 9th in the coveted Prix de Bayeux over 1600m on this course on 6 August but was far from disgraced. She will enjoy reverting to 1400m and can play a leading role
9. DIVIDE AND RULE – Winner on handicap debut over 1600m and confirmed her competitiveness under a 3kg penalty by finishing 3rd in a good Class 2 at Vichy over 1600m on 18 July. Has a winning chance
10. KOSLOVKA – Won and finished 3rd in 2 Quinté+ events during the spring but has failed to confirm that form this summer. Finished a well-beaten 12th over 1300m on this course in a similar contest on 3 August
11. TIFFANYLI – Last-start winner of a 1400m conditions race at Clairefontaine on 9 August. Back in a handicap with 1kg penalty to carry
12. CLANITHA – Lightly raced filly with interesting form references in conditions races, including a last-start 5th over 1400m at La Teste on 22 July. Dangerous to discount given her opening handicap mark – dark horse
13. TOKYO DREAMER – Didn’t go unnoticed when finishing a creditable 5th in a three-year-old Quinté+ event over 1300m on this course last time (3 August). Attractive outsider
14. ZANDY – Deemed worthy of contesting the Group I Prix Marcel Boussac last year but unable to fulfill Classic aspirations this term. Finished 9th in the Group I Prix Jean Prat on 7 July but cannot be taken lightly
15. TERREDEGUERRE – Finished an unlucky 6th in the reference race (1500m Quinte+ at Saint-Cloud) on 11 June but only 10th in a similar event over 1600m at Compiegne on 22 July. For lovers of outsiders
16. MAGESTIC MOON – Outclassed (6th) in a 2100m Group III and soundly beaten (10th) in a 2000m Class 2 conditions race last time out (6 August) on this course. Dropped significantly in trip for her handicap debut
Summary: DIVIDE AND RULE (9) was an authoritative winner of a handicap in June and continued her momentum by finishing a good 3rd in a quality Class 2 event at Vichy, so is value for the win in her first Quinté+ appearance. FREJA (6) is also a candidate for success judged on the strength and consistency of her form, while DARI RIVER (8) is likely to fare better at this level and could play a leading role too. Consistent ALVA (7). ZANDY (14), who receives weight from most of her rivals, and handicap debutante CLANITHA (12) are others to consider in a typically competitive Quinté+ event.

3. AMERICAN HOPE – Inconsistent performer, albeit at a higher level. Bounced back to form with a reassuring 4th in a handicap over 1800m at Saint-Malo on 8 August
4. MR GOODNIGHT – Has shown his form and well-being recently by finishing 4th in 3 consecutive outings, the latest at Clairefontaine over 1600m. Candidate for success
5. GRECIAN STAR – Soundly beaten (15th) in a turf handicap over 1800m at Clairefontaine on 12 August but should fare better here under these conditions/back on PSF
6. DROIT DE PAROLE – Honest veteran performer whose competitiveness at this level is beyond doubt. Has finished 5th in back-to-back recent outings, the latest on this course in a 1300m PSF claimer on 10 August
7. LE SICILIEN – Consistent hard-knocker with sound references on both surfaces. Didn’t go unnoticed when 4th in a conditions race over 1800m at Nort-sur-Erdre on 11 August
8. DONN CLIFS – Didn’t go unnoticed when finishing 6th in a conditions race at Chantilly on 29 June. Best watched for now on his reappearance
9. NEOWISE – Soundly beaten in 3 consecutive outings, including back-to-back recent starts after 2-month break. Finished 14th in 1400m handicap at Le Lion-d’Angers on 26 July
Summary: MR GOODNIGHT (4), the joint highest-rated runner in the race, appeals most of the runners engaged in this concluding contest on the strength and consistency of his recent form. He is marginally preferred to DOIT DE PAROLE (6), who has the means to fight for victory over this slightly longer distance. GRECIAN STAR (5) shouldn’t be hastily condemned for his disappointing last start and need only bounce back to the form of his previous outing (2nd) to play a leading role. ADWAN (1) shoulders a big weight but isn’t without a chance either.

1. LA BELLE HISTOIRE – Unraced filly by Clovis du Berlais, stable runners warrant respect. Any market support should be noted
2. LOKO MOME – Newcomer by Cokoriko, the dam won on the flat and over hurdles. One to watch in the betting market for any support
3. GOOD TIME ROLL – Plenty of flat experience, 3rd last time over 2500m at this track on July 24th over 2500m. Hurdle debut and needs consideration
4. IRINA HAS – Unplaced on her sole run over 3400m at Dieppe over hurdles on August 6th. Hard to recommend

6. FOR YOUR EYES ONLY – Newcomer by Goliath Du Berlais, the dam won once over hurdles and was placed on the flat. Might need this debut run. The betting can guide

Summary: CLARTE DU SOURIRE (9) made an encouraging start to her racing career when fourth at this track last month. She can improve from that and have a leading role. MIMETIQUE (7) could be the one to give the selection the most to do after a credible sixth last time at Dieppe. Summary: KASAR (4) has been running consistently all season and got off the mark last time at Rochefort-Sur-Loire 17 days ago. Her main threat could be KASAR (4) he looked like being involved on debut when he fell and if getting a clear round he could make a race of it. KENOR DE MAEL (5) was second behind the main selection 17 days ago and looks like a decent each-way option. KLIMT DES PICTONS (2) also needs a mention.

IRVING DE BAILLY (9) usually runs well at this course and is shortlisted as well, although he keeps his shoes on. ISTRIA (8) faces an easier task than last time and can bounce back.

1. GOWEN CHALEONNAIS – On a long losing run and was disqualified last time out at this course on 16 August. Needs to find a few lengths to win
2. HOTESSE D’HAUFOR – Has really struggled this year and was tenth last time out in Class F over this track and trip on 16 August. Needs major improvement to win
3. FLAG – Unreliable but was barefoot and fourth last time out in Class E at this track over 2650m on 12 August. Remains barefoot and could play a minor role
4. HOLLYWOOD TORINO – Broke a long losing when scoring last time out in Class F over this track and trip on 16 August. Can follow up
5. HELLO BOY DU PIC – Fluffed his lines with a rare disqualification at this course last time out on 16 August. In good form before that and can bounce back to score
6. HEAVEN JULRY – Very unreliable but did win last time out in Class H at Sault over 3000m on 11 August. Tougher task this shorter distance
7. HARDE DESTINEE – On a long losing run but was not disgraced when third last time out in Class F over this track and trip on 16 August. Can contest the finish again
8. IBIZA EVENING – In good form and was barefoot and fourth last time out in Class C at Cagnes-sur-Mer over 2925m on 15 July. Can win this shorter-distance
9. HALTESS GRIFF – Has yet to win a race but she has been runner-up in her last two starts, with the latest being in Class E Mounted race at Aix-les-Bains over 2725m on 9 August. Could make the frame
10. GIANT MEC – Battling to regain best form and was unplaced last time out in Class D at this course over 2675m on 18 August. Others are preferred
11. GLAIEUL DE JOUX – Showed some improvement when fourth last time out in Class F over this course and distance on 16 August. Has a place chance
Summary: IBIZA EVENING (8) takes a significant step down in grade and looks the obvious pick in this line-up. She should take a power of beating and is retained ahead of HOLLYWOOD TORINO (4), whose last winning effort was properly eye-catching. HELLO BOY DU PIC (5) is on a redemption mission after his last sanction and can also be given some serious consideration. HARDE DESTINEE (7) was narrowly headed last time out over the course & distance and could go well once again.

1. IDEAL DE BANNES – Has disqualification issues and was disqualified last time out at this course on 12 August. In good form before that and has a winning chance
2. FILOU DU CAIEU – Holding his form and was third last time out in Class F at Château-du-Loir over 2575m on 28 July. Has a place chance
3. HAUBAGNE – Very consistent of late and was fourth last time out in Class F at this course over this course and distance on 12 August. Can contest the finish again
4. IMPERIAL KEY – In good form of late and was fourth last time out in Class F at Jullianges over 2450m on 14 July. Has a place chance
5. HORIZON VOLSIN – Only modest of late and was 5th last time out in Class F at Jullianges over 2450m on 14 July. More is needed to beat these rivals
6. FASCINANT – Unreliable and was disqualified last time out at Enghien on 4 August. Capable of earning some money when in the mood
7. INITIALE CASTELETS – Did not show her best when 6th last time out in Class C at Cagnes-sur-Mer over 2150m on 15 August. Won her penultimate start and deserves respect for that win
8. INBREED – Disqualified last time out at Vichy on 4 July. In good form before that and can bounce back to score
Summary: INBREED (8) is away since his sanction early July. He makes a much awaited comeback and should be ready for a big run. He gets the vote ahead of INITIALE CASTELETS (7) who ships a long way for the race and is the only runner on the day for trainer Nicolas Ensch. IDEAL DE BANNES (1) is a solid trotter who is sure to give a good account back under the saddle. HAUBAGNE (3) always gives everything she has no matter the discipline and is another one for the shortlist.

C1 – PRIX ANNICK & GEORGES DREUX – 2725m (a1m1/2) – Class E Race – Mounted – EUR € 30,000 |
1. HAPPY DU LAS VEGAS – Good, consistent mare that ran 2nd of 9 in a 2775m Class F at Les Sables-d’Olonne 10 days ago. Has no particular love for the venue but, in present shape, is still worth retaining
2. HARPAGOS RULES – Last of 5 in a 3100m Vibraye Class F a week ago. Has never shown much aptitude for the code and can be passed over
3. ILVICA DE HOUELLE – Failed to impress when 6th to GITAN DE TOUCHYVON (4) in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class F 2.5 weeks ago and can be confidently ruled out
4. GITAN DE TOUCHYVON – Back at the top of his game, latterly successful in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Breaks in front and Alexis Collette will be loathe to pass up such a good entry
5. HEVA BLONDE – Enjoying a renaissance since returning from her break, most recently winning a 2625m Class F at La Rochelle with ease a fortnight ago and, in similar shape, can repeat
6. FASHION MAKER – Made up for his Enghien blip when 4th of 9 in a 2775m Class C at Les Sables-d’Olonne late last month. Reliability not his strong suit but races barefoot this time and looks a respectable first-5 chance
7. ILTON ROYAL – Pulled off the hat-trick in a 2875m Enghien Class E on 17 July. Starts with a 25m handicap but will still take all the beating
8. GLADIATOR BOY – Pleasantly surprising 4th of 8 in a Class D over course and distance 3 weeks ago and, if focused, can again play a prominent role
9. FARCEUR DE MAI – 5th of 8 in a 2875m Argentan Class E 12 days ago. Has references at this level but will still need to find more
10. HELLO JADE RUSH – Runner-up in last 2, most recently a 2875m Enghien Class D 2.5 weeks ago. Takes on a serious bunch this time and others preferred
Summary: After going into his break on a high note, ILTON ROYAL (7) picked up this summer where he left off and can expect to garner the lion’s share of support. That said, HEVA BLONDE (5) won easily earlier in the month and sports a fresh configuration for the occasion. GLADIATOR BOY (8) left a good impression here 3 weeks ago and can make the frame this time. GITAN DE TOUCHYVON (4) has been excelling in both disciplines recently and the 25m head-start will do his prospects no disservice.

C2 – PRIX SAN VICENTE DE LA BARQUERA – 2725m (a1m1/2) – Class F Race – Harness – EUR € 26,000 |
1. HADRIANA DU MONT – Continued her unproductive streak when sanctioned in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class F mid-month. Is not entirely without merit but must first get her house in order
2. HOLLYWOOD WELL – 2nd of 9 in a 2550m Class H at Bacqueville-en-Caux on 28 July. Starts in front, is clearly in form, but nonetheless appears to be biting off more than she can chew
3. HUNE DE CONDE – Back in the harness code after coming 4th of 9 finishers in a 2775m Class F at Les Sables-d’Olonne 10 days ago. Enjoys a front-row start here and, with application, could pleasantly surprise
4. HISTOIRE D’ELLE – In the frame in 2 of last 3, latterly 2nd of 10 in a 2475m Royan Class F on 28 July. Steps up in category but remains shod for the occasion and best to hold off
5. HIGH MONEY D’AVRAN – 3rd over track and trip earlier in the month before trotting 6th of 10 in a 2950m amateurs Class F at Saint-Malo 2 weeks ago. Reunited with Matthieu Abrivard and is unlikely to be far from the action
6. FASHION DE VAL – 8th of 12, when prepping for this, in a 2750m monté Class E here last week. Barefoot this time but others still preferred
7. HORS SAISON – Missed out by little in a 2050m Cabourg Class D 2 weeks ago. Entrusted to Eric Raffin for the occasion and will be expected to finish in the mix
8. GLOIRE ROYALE – 8th of 15 in a 2750m Cabourg Class E a fortnight ago. Appreciates Pornichet but in current condition is not easy to make a case
9. HARMONIE DE SITA – Has not put a foot out of line all season, most recently finishing 2nd in a 3000m Châteaubriant Class F on 6 August, and looks eminently capable of imposing
10. HUDSON BAIE – Useful mare that trotted 4th, behind HARMONIE DE SITA (9), in a 3000m Châteaubriant Class F earlier in the month. Yet to be bested under these conditions and looks main threat
11. HYSOPE DU BOCAGE – Won an amateurs event here before coming a tenacious 2nd of 10 in a Class E over course and distance last week. Has solid Pornichet credentials and will be competitive for a place in the frame
12. HARMONIE DE BREVOL – Back under harness after faulting in a 2850m Bréhal monté Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Shoes back on and not a priority
13. HOKKAIDA – Sanctioned in 3 straight before finishing last of 13 in a 2150m Enghien Class F 3 weeks ago and has no possible chance
14. HISTOIREMIKA – 5th of 11 in a 2950m Le Mans Class F late-July. Seldom gets her nose in front but benefits from a good entry and has a reasonable chance of picking up a first-5 cheque
Summary: The main protagonists break from the 2nd line here with recent Pornichet winner HARMONIE DE SITA (9) very easy to like as she sports just front pads for the first time. HUDSON BAIE (10) was not far off her at Châteaubriant and is unbeaten in 2 starts at the venue. HYSOPE DU BOCAGE (11) is clearly back on the right road and will be no pushover, and neither will the reconfigured HORS SAISON (7) if his form continues on the current trajectory.

C3 – PRIX DE LA VILLE DE LA BAULE – 2650m (a1m1/2) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 23,000 |
1. JASMIN DAIRPET – Useful type making first appearance since finishing 7th of 13 in a 2300m Marseille-Borély Class D mid-March. Anthony Barrier reining this time and must be respected
2. JUST D’ACADIE – Terrific winner of a 2725m Class F here 2 weeks ago. Steps marginally up in category and while not a priority, he has been handed a good draw and should not be overlooked
3. JENNY BEACH – Ran out a 47/1 winner of a 2800m Compiègne Class D earlier this month. Appreciates a mobile start and from the 3-spot will be no easy touch
4. JOG DE JAVIE – Honest trotter that ran 4th of 7 in a 2800m Langon Class D late last month. Should take well to Pornichet conditions and, from the 4-spot, can play an active role
5. JOLYDOLE – Went into her break with 3 wins from 4 before being sanctioned on re-entry in a 2500m Class E at La Rochelle on 29 July. Will have come on for the run and, unbeaten in 2 starts with Eric Raffin, looks the pick of the field
6. JOHORE – Did not enjoy the best of trips mid-July when last but one in a 2875m Enghien Class E. Nicely-in on the first line here and has every chance of trotting his way onto the podium
7. JAPANESE SUN – Was on a fine run of form before refusing to start in a 2775m Craon Class D 2 months ago. Has been given time to get his act together but still not an obvious choice
8. JUPANQUIE TONIQUE – 5th of 7 here last month before faulting, when well-backed, in a 1609m Argentan Class E on 10 August. Forced to start wide though and others preferred
9. JUDICIEUSE – Sanctioned on comeback in a 2775m Class F at Les Sables-d’Olonne 2 weeks ago. Just front pads fitted this time and will have nothing to contribute
10. JESSY DE DAUX – Lost her action in a 3450m Agon-Coutainville Class F last Sunday. Takes on too much again and can be ruled out
11. JINNOVE DAB – Kicked 2024 off superbly but has since lost his way, most recently 7th of 9 in a 2150m Vire Class E early-July, and is not about to shake things up
12. JITANA WILD – Game sort that has come close more than once this season, latterly 4th to JUST D’ACADIE (2) in a 2725m Class F here 2 weeks ago. Not ideally-positioned on the 2nd row but can still get a look-in
13. JAMAIQUE PAJELO – Unraced since being sanctioned in a 2700m Vincennes Class D in early-April. Shoes on and no threat
14. JUNIOR DE PLAY – Last but one in a 1609m Argentan Class E earlier this month. Poorly-placed on 2nd row and can be passed over
15. JACKPOT DE JUMILLY – 6th to JENNY BEACH (3) in a 2800m Compiègne Class D on 3 August. Not an obvious choice on paper but has been entrusted to Matthieu Abrivard and is unlikely to disappoint
16. JOLIE DU CEBE – Capable mare but has been struggling of late, latterly 7th of 8 in a 2500m Class E at La Rochelle on 29 July, and the draw only adds insult to injury
Summary: in 2024, it has been a case of all-or-nothing for JOLYDOLE (5) and she can wrap this up if Eric Raffin keeps her trotting. Ideally-positioned behind the car, JENNY BEACH (3) will be dangerous if she reproduces her Compiègne run. Unlucky at Enghien last time out, JOHORE (6) will have his chances if Bertrand de Folleville keeps him out of trouble. Difficult to knock when barefoot and focused, JASMIN DAIRPET (1) is well-placed to give this a good go.

C4 – PRIX BEXBACH – 2725m (a1m1/2) – Class F Race – Harness – EUR € 26,000 |
1. HIDALGO HERBLINAIE – Off the boil for some time, latterly sanctioned in a 2775m Class F at Les Sables-d’Olonne early this month, and will have nothing to contribute
2. HAPPY DE TOUCHYVON – Should not be too quickly-judged for coming last of 10 in a 3000m amateur Class H at Neuillé-Pont-Pierre 2.5 weeks ago. Races barefoot for the occasion and, from the first row, can get in on the action
3. HUGO DU JOUAN – 9th of 13 in a 2550m Class H at Bacqueville-en-Caux a week ago and can be confidently ruled out
4. HENAO DE VICTHI – Makes Pornichet debut off the back of 2 amateur successes, most recently a 3100m Plessé Class H late last month. Benefits from a front-line start, sports a previous configuration, and can give this a good go
5. GET READY – Last of 6 in an amateurs Class F over course and distance just over a month ago, and will need to raise his game in order to compete
6. HEROS DE BANVILLE – 2nd of 9 finishers in a 3150m Abbeville Class F on 11 August. Shod to preference this time but others easier to back
7. GENTLEMEN GOLFEUR – Back in the professional ranks after coming 2nd of 7 in a 2775m amateurs Class F earlier in the month. Is confirmed here and, despite the extra 25m to travel, still has his chances of finishing close
8. HAROLD SAUTONNE – In the frame in 2 of last 3, most recently 2nd in a 3000m Class D at Rochefort-sur-Loire 2.5 weeks ago. Seldom seen going left-handed but reassured at Segré late-June and will be no easy touch if he turns
9. HERMES HAUFOR – Showed improvement when 5th of 12 in a 2700m Graignes Class F 12 days ago. Thrives at Pornichet and is not incapable of maintaining a perfect record here
10. HIVER D’AUTHISE – Impressive course-and-distance winner a fortnight ago and, if still on the boil, can repeat
11. FRENCHY BERRY – 6th, a place behind GANYMEDE DE DUSSAC (12) in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class F earlier this month. Has already won this summer but, in this company, will need to find more
12. GANYMEDE DE DUSSAC – Returns to code of preference after finishing 10th of 12 in a 2750m monté Class E here last week. Shoes off this time but chances still limited
Summary: It’s the back row where we should be focusing our attention here. HIVER D’AUTHISE (10) put a lean streak to bed earlier in the month when successful over course and distance and looks a marginally better bet than HERMES HAUFOR (9) even though Bigeon’s horse in unbeaten at the venue. HAROLD SAUTONNE (8) is plainly close to his race and while better racing clockwise, he still looks a serious player. GENTLEMEN GOLFEUR (7) may not be to everyone’s liking but a repeat of his recent performance would see him compete for a place in the frame.

C5 – PRIX DES ANYSETIERS – 2650m (a1m1/2) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 20,000 |
1. KOSMOS DU BOIS – Imposed at Chinon mid-July on first start with Eric Raffin, before trotting 5th of 8 in a 2300m Châteaubriant Class E 2 weeks ago. Reunited with the champion driver and although not a contender, should still acquit himself competitively
2. KLUEDO DE L’AVRE – 5th of 9 finishers in a 2625m Class D at La Rochelle late last month. Is better than that though and, from the 2-spot, is not to be underestimated
3. KALICO JACK – Has done nothing but improve of late, most recently winning a Class E over course and distance last week. Similar formula this time and the draw will only enhance his already good prospects
4. KAVRIK DE GUEZ – Showed improvement on 2nd start back when 5th of 8 in a 2475m Royan Class E 3.5 weeks ago. Has a decent spot behind the car but others still easier to support
5. KOOPLES DE LARRE – Unthreatening 5th of 10 in a 2400m Amiens Class E 3 weeks ago and even from the 5-spot, can expect to have few friends
6. KEOPS DES NOUES – Ran 5th here last month before winning a 2600m Montignac Class F a fortnight ago. Has yet to win on a hard surface but in present form is very hard to ignore
7. KITKO DAIRPET – Went close to opening his career account when 2nd of 12 in a 2650m Class E at Les Sables-d’Olonne last Saturday. Shoes on again and makes his Pornichet debut with a good hand to play
8. KAVALO BELLO – Made up for his 19 July sanction when storming up in a 2750m Cabourg Class E 9 days ago and, with stride in check, can repeat
9. KYMI JACK – Gave a fine account to win a Class F over 2100m here a fortnight ago. Forced to break from 2nd line but is reunited with Matthieu Abrivard and unlikely to be going home empty-handed
10. KOBE BEJI – Steps up in category after trotting 2nd of 10 in a 3150m Class F at La Roche-Posay earlier this month. Form is sure though and will not be far off the mark at the business end of affairs
11. KUROKO LAUAR – Encouraging 4th to KALICO JACK (3) in a Class E over course and distance last week. Unlikely to improve on that but is still worth keeping an eye on
12. KRAC NADACA – Disappointing on the whole, most recently sanctioned in a 2600m Josselin Class F 11 days ago, and will have nothing to offer
13. KINKAJOU – Pleased at Le Mans before faulting in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Starts on the back row here and even reverting to a successful formula, will have his work cut out
14. KINGPIN – Sanctioned when full of running in a 2300m Châteaubriant Class E 2 weeks ago. Has evident ability but his lack of reliability, and draw, inspire little confidence
Summary: Excellent winner at Cabourg recently, KAVALO BELLO (8) returns to racing left-handed, at the top of his game, and despite a wide draw, still looks the horse to beat. Paul Ploquin will nevertheless be keeping a watchful eye on the better-positioned KALICO JACK (3) who made short work of a similar event here last week, and KITKO DAIRPET (7) whose weekend performance bodes well for his chances. KEOPS DES NOUES (6) returned to winning ways a fortnight ago and is sufficiently well-drawn to challenge for a spot in the frame.

1. KOMREVEE DIESCHOOT – 2nd of 8 in a 2475m Royan Class E on 28 July. Never far from faulting but can play an active role if Antoine Wiels keeps her trotting
2. KIRENE FLASH – Reassuring 3rd of 10, at 47/1, in a 2050m Cabourg Class E on 6 August. Barefoot this time and the draw will do her prospects no harm
3. KRYSTALE STAR – Steps up in category after winning a 2850m Bréhal Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Anthony Barrier back on board but faces a much stiffer test on this occasion
4. KINA DES COTEAUX – In the frame in 2 of last 3, most recently 3rd of 6 in a 2500m Class E at La Rochelle a fortnight ago. Has yet to disappoint in the day’s formula and looks a player
5. KOURSE MAGIC – Has 2 races under her belt following the break, latterly sanctioned in a 3000m Class E at Rochefort-sur-Loire 2.5 weeks ago. Is confirmed at a superior level however and has the capacity to open her 2024 account
6. KAIPIRINHA – 10th of 12 when preparing for this in a 2950m Class E at Le Mans late last month, after having imposed here 16 days earlier. Configured as she was that day and is not incapable of repeating
7. KELLA DU DONJON – Pleased in 2 here before enduring a tough trip when sanctioned in a 2800m Vichy Class E earlier this month. Appreciates Pornichet and should again finish close
8. KIMIE JIHEM – Races barefoot for first time after faulting early in a 2400m Amiens Class E 3 weeks ago, but still looks to be out of her league
9. KALAMINE – Got off the mark [at 20th time of asking] in a 2675m Portbail Class F on 11 August, but a repeat seems distinctly improbable
10. KYOKA BOCNEUF – Impressive before being disqualified here late-July but made amends when 3rd of 14 in a 2300m Châteaubriant Class F earlier in the month. Has never delivered in this category though and a minor place chance at best
Summary: A tough individual when barefoot, KOURSE MAGIC (5) will be at peak fitness by now and, from the 5-spot, can bring home the bacon. Florian Joseph can still expect to feel the heat from the reconfigured KAIPIRINHA (6) who won over course and distance last month, and KELLA DU DONJON (7) who is very much at ease here. KINA DES COTEAUX (4) has come close more than once this season and while unlikely to impose this time, can nevertheless compete for a place in the first 3.

1. LUCKY DAY – Followed up 3 straight sanctions with 7th of 11 in a Class F over course and distance 2 weeks ago. Is not without merit but current form does little to inspire confidence
2. LORD DE JADE – Got off the mark in a 2625m Class F at La Roche-Posay on 11 August. Pitted against better on this occasion and a repeat seems most unlikely
3. LOMBARDO – Promising sort that trotted 2nd in a Class F over course and distance on 18 July. Comes here fresh and will be competitive for a place payday
4. LOUXOR DE GUEZ – Has ample ability but sanctioned in 7 of last 8, latterly a 2500m Vibraye Class F a week ago. On good behaviour though, will be no pushover
5. LOEM DU TAY – Failed to confirm his Carentan success when sanctioned in a 2600m Josselin Class F 11 days ago. Debuts on a hard surface and is unlikely to disappoint
6. LINGER – 5th of 9 in a 2750m Class F at La Ferté-Vidame on Sunday. Has made good on his potential just once but has considerable untapped potential and must be taken seriously
7. LEE D’IRAI – Moderate individual that was sanctioned in a 2525m Les Andelys Class E late-June. Has placed just twice in 10 starts and can be passed over
8. LAWMAN – Lost his maiden tag in a 2650m Class G at Les Sables-d’Olonne 2.5 weeks ago. Is plainly on the way up and looks main danger to LORD EOLE (10)
9. LENOR DE FEROL – Reassuring 2nd of 9 in a 2600m Montignac Class F a fortnight ago but will have more to find this time around
10. LORD EOLE – Courageous winner of a 2100m Class G over course and distance 3 weeks ago. Entrusted to Eric Raffin for first time and will be a tough nut to crack
Summary: Nicely-engaged at the limit of earnings, LORD EOLE (10) won over shorter here earlier in the month and, fitted with pads again, can repeat. LAWMAN (8) similarly opened his account last time out and deserves to take his chances at this level. LOMBARDO (3) missed out by little under these conditions last month and, given time to recuperate, will be no soft touch. LOUXOR DE GUEZ (4) may not be everyone’s cup of tea but he will not be far from the action if he deigns to stay in stride.

1. LILIE D’OMAHA – Got off the mark over course and distance on 6 July before faulting, when full of running, in a 2775m Class F at Les Sables-d’Olonne 11 days later. Trainer takes over in the wagon and can set the record straight
2. LERMINIG OLIVERIE – Got straight down to business on debut 2 weeks ago, winning a 2650m Class G at Les Sables-d’Olonne. Takes on a better bunch this time but still looks up to the job. Claim
3. LUNE SMILE – Made up for a brace of sanctions when victorious in a 2375m Eauze Class F 2.5 weeks ago. In this category though, looks out of her depth
4. LA MOME DE CAHOT – Got off the mark a month ago before trotting 4th of 8 in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class F 9 days ago. In better company this time but will still generate some interest
5. LA REINE D’ATTAQUE – Surprise winner of a 2950m Biarritz Class F mid-July, and a repeat seems most improbable
6. LADY SLAVE TEK – 5th of 7, behind LUNA PARK (13), in a 2700m Graignes Class F 3 weeks ago. Is unlikely to get off the mark but should nevertheless acquit herself competitively
7. LADY BIRD JENILAT – Has done nothing but progress, most recently winning a 2775m Class G at Les Sables-d’Olonne on 3 August. Anthony Barrier reining this time and looks thoroughly capable of finishing in the mix
8. LA VISTA HAUFOR – Decent filly that made up for mid-July sanction when 4th of 11 in a 2950m Le Mans Class E 11 days later. Cannot be considered a priority but still has the wherewithal to pick up a cheque
9. LOCMARIA JEWEL – Moderate 6th of 9 in a 2300m Châteaubriant Class E earlier in the month and can expect to have few friends
10. LOUISIANA DU DERBY – Opened her account at Graignes before faulting in a 2875m Enghien Class E on 10 August. Has evident ability but in this field may find the going a bit tougher
11. LOUISIANE – Sanctioned early, but nevertheless showed her form, in a 2150m Argentan Class E on re-entry 12 days ago. Eric Raffin reining this time and, although not a priority, is still worth keeping an eye on
12. LALEXANE BLUE – In the frame in 2 of last 3, most recently 3rd of 10 in a 2600m Josselin Class F on 11 August but, at this level, looks a rank outsider
13. LUNA PARK – Reassuring 2nd of 7 in a 2700m Graignes Class F 3 weeks ago. Never far from faulting but is unlikely to disappoint if Andréa Roussel can keep her trotting
14. LIO D’AVEL – Went close in first 2 before trotting 5th in a Class E over course and distance a month back. Should not be too hastily-judged, has previously placed here, and could yet lose her maiden tag
Summary: LERMINIG OLIVERIE (2) defied her odds to win first time out and considering the way she imposed, can double her money. Loïc Guinoiseau will still be wary of the well-engaged LIO D’AVEL (14) who is better than her latest run would suggest, and course-and-distance winner LILIE D’OMAHA (1) who will be expected to bounce back from her recent sanction. LADY BIRD JENILAT (7) was rewarded with victory at Les Sables-d’Olonne early this month and, even though stepping up in category, still looks a respectable place prospect.
