11. DREAM MESSANGER – 4th over 3600m in a Class 2 hurdle on September 11th at Compiegne when last appearing. Might find this difficult

12. HILL OF BAMBOO – Won at Auteuil over 3600m in a handicap hurdle on September 10th on the latest outing. In form and can have a say

13. CASTLE ANNE – 2nd over 3500m in a Class 2 chase at Auteuil on May 4th last time and a win before that over fences in March. Seems better suited to fences

14. HAPPY HARRY – Ran well when 5th in a Listed hurdle at Auteuil last time over 3600m on September 10th. Hard to rule out

15. JUST IN TIME BLUE – Two unplaced runs of late, 2nd before that over 3600m at Auteuil on March 9th in a Class 2 hurdle. In the mix

16. CUNCERTO – Unplaced last time, 2nd before that over 3600m at Strasbourg on June 13th in a Class 3 hurdle. Among the leading each way options

Summary: GURZUF (6) has been in good shape recently with a win in late June in a handicap hurdle and then a solid effort in a Listed hurdle at Auteuil last month when he was second. He can edge this competitive handicap from HAPPY HARRY (14) who was fifth in the Listed hurdle at Auteuil. SAINT LOUIS BLUES (2) ran a credible race over fences at Craon recently and is a useful performer over hurdles. HILL OF BAMBOO (12) won on his latest outing at Auteuil and is a solid each-way option.

1. HAKERMAN – Fair 4th in the same race as two of his rivals at Auteuil on September 19th over 3700m in a claiming chase last time. Also a winner over track/trip in May. Player

2. WHY – Decent 3rd last time at Auteuil in a claiming chase over 3700m on September 19th. Should be too much for his rivals

3. FLEURIEU – Not seen since an unplaced effort in a Class 2 hurdle at this track over 3600m on October 16th, 2023. Chase debut and has a lay off to deal with

4. ROYALCLETY – Credible 4th over 4400m at  Auteuil on October 10th, 2023 in a claiming chase. One to keep safe despite an absence

5. JANGO D’AIRY – Course and distance winner in May, fair 5th last time in a claiming chase at Auteuil on September 19th over 3700m. Can not be overlooked

8. ELLIOT DE BALME – 5th last time over 3800m in a Class 4 chase at Le Pertre on September 14th. Has work to do

Summary: WHY (2) was a good third at Auteuil in what looked a lot stronger race than he encounters today. He should be too smart for his rivals. JANGO D’AIRY (5) looks like the main threat. He was back in fifth in the Auteuil race and won at this track in mid-May in a claiming chase over today’s journey. HAKERMAN (1) also ran in the same race and was fourth. The latter pair are both winners over course and distance before. ROYALCLETY (4) has an absence to deal with but could be a threat.

SELECTIONS

6. FRAGMENTS OF TIME – Three unplaced runs of late, won before that in a Class 3 chase at Auteuil over 3500m on April 6th. She needs to bounce back to form

Summary: CELTY DU KALON (4) could be the answer in this competitive handicap hurdle. She was a decent third in a Listed hurdle at Auteuil when last seen in mid-September. TERRA BELLA (3) will do her best to make life difficult for the selection. She scored on her latest start at Auteuil in late June in a Listed hurdle. ROYAL SAGA (5) won a Grade 3 chase last time and can once a gain be competitive back over hurdles. KARTHAGE (1) is also one to consider.

C4 – PRIX VERTIGE – 3450m (a2m1/8) – TURF – Class 3 Race – Steeple Chase – EUR € 57,000

1. VICTORY VALLEY – 7th on his sole run over hurdle at Auteuil in a Class 1 race over 3500m on June 25th. Will be well schooled for this chase debut

7. ARMA DAZ – 3rd last time on her second start over hurdles at Le Touquet on September 8th. Tough task ahead on her chasing debut

8. KIRAKINE – 5th on her chase debut last time over 3500m at Auteuil on September 10th. A good 4th in a Grade 3 hurdle on May 18th at Auteuil was encouraging. Player

Summary: EARLY MIST (4) looks like a progressive colt who bolted up in a Class 2 hurdle at this track by eight lengths when last seen in early May. He can get off the mark on his chase debut at the expense of VICTORY VALLEY (1) who does lacks experience, he has only had one run in a Class 1 hurdle at Auteuil in June. The switch to fences is interesting, and he will be well prepared. EBENE DU RHEU (2) looks like a safe option for the each-way backers. KIRAKINE (8) can only improve on her last run.

5. LACRIMA – Two placed runs so far, the most recent at Lyon Parilly when 3rd over 3400m on September 4th. Needs to improve to be a threat

6. DIAMOND DU BERLAIS – 5th on her latest run over 3000m in a Listed hurdle at Auteuil on April 27th and 2nd in a Class 1 hurdle before that. Consider

Summary: A good line-up in this Class 1 hurdle race. The unbeaten SALY D’OROUX (3) was impressive when she won easily at Moulins early last month and is marginally preferred to RAFFLES DOLCE VITA (1) who found a Grade 3 hurdle a bit beyond him last time. He did win a Class 2 hurdle at Auteuil in June and can have a say in proceedings here. LADY DU CHENET (2) can improve for a good fourth last time and be involved. DIAMOND DU BERLAIS (6) makes up the shortlist.

SCATAR (2) was second in the same race and will make his rivals work hard. 8. SAANEN – Has struggled of late and was 8th last time out in a claimer at Fontainebleau over 1600m on 22 September. Needs major improvement to win

Summary: A competitive claimer that might just fall the way of MYTHICONOR (4). He has some fair runs in Germany and should be very competitive at this level. SIM CARD (2) does well in this division and can fight out the finish yet again. RIYAK (3) is in good form and can go one better this time. ALISTO KING (7) was not disgraced in a handicap last time out and also deserves some respect.

INVIOLABLE SPIRIT (7) is better judged on his penultimate start and can be a threat. SVOUL (2) carries a penalty for a recent course and distance win and could well follow up. 1. I AM MAJYC – Has not been seen out since finishing last of 11 in a 2675m Class G at Le Mont-Saint-Michel last May. Has merit but is going to need the run

2. INNOCENT ARCTIC – Last of 10, behind ISIDORE BONHEUR (7), when preparing for this in a 2725m Lisieux harness Class F 11 days ago, and already looks an also-ran

3. IMPERIALE NORMANDE – Has done nothing but improve lately, most recently 2nd of 13, at 43/1, in a 2450m Caen harness Class F 3.5 weeks ago. Debuts under the saddle at the right time and may find Cabourg more palatable in this code

4. IMNOU DES PLAINES – Very hard to fault since early-June, most recently runner-up to ILLICO PRIOR (5) in a 2550m Dieppe Class F a month ago. Yet to deliver in this category but has earned his place here and will be competitive for the win

5. ILLICO PRIOR – Imposed at Dieppe before coming 3rd of 7 in a 2475m Niort Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Has never disappointed in this branch of the business and is not about to break the mould. Place chance

6. I LOVE DU CHERISAY – Unplaced at Laval before being sanctioned in a 2475m Niort Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Faces a much tougher test here and with shoes on will struggle to make her mark

7. ISIDORE BONHEUR – Twice 5th over course and distance before coming 7th of 10 in a 2725m Lisieux harness Class F conditioner 11 days ago. Has been specifically prepared for this and is unlikely to disappoint

8. IDEAL DU GROIZEAU – Reassuring 2nd of 5 finishers in a 2600m Cavaillon Class F a fortnight ago. Has yet to deliver at Cabourg but can make first 5 if Mathias Potier keeps him trotting

9. ILDA DE BERTRANGE – Tricky character that returned to winning ways mid-September when securing a 2700m Thouars Class H. Is never easy to gauge but still faces a tough ask this time around

10. INVICTUS ORADEL – Back under the saddle after losing his action in a 2625m Cherbourg harness Class F on 19 August. Sports front pads for first time and, although not a priority, is still worth retaining

11. ILLINOIS – Oddly out of sorts when 8th of 13 in a 2950m Saint-Malo harness amateurs Class G last weekend. Has no exceptional monté credentials though and others easier to support

12. IQUEM NARCY – Made up for his Châteaubriant sanction when 2nd of 9 in a 2950m Vichy Class F mid-September. Has nothing to prove at this level and has every chance of bringing home the bacon

13. INJECTABLE – 8th of 12 when preparing for this in a 2825m Chartres harness Class F 3 weeks ago. Has never disappointed in the discipline and even though taking on better here, will still have his supporters

14. IVOLI ZEUS – 2nd of 10, on monté debut, in a 2475m Vic-Fezensac Class F 10 days ago. In better company this time but reverts to a previous formula and is not to be entirely discounted

15. INDY DES PENDANTS – Got back in the game when 4th of 10 finishers in a 3250m harness Class F at Saint-Ouen-des-Toits on 7 September. Appreciates Cabourg and should not be far off the mark if focused

16. ILANO DE MONGOCHY – Ran 3rd at Saint-Malo before coming 5th of 10 in a 2800m Tours Class F on 1 September, both under harness. Has taken well to his new vocation but looks a minor place prospect at best on this occasion

Summary: He may never be far from losing his action but IQUEM NARCY (12) has been lurking of late and, if applied, can finally open his 2024 account. Mathis Champenois will be justifiably concerned by IMNOU DES PLAINES (4) who has been simply superb over recent months, and ILLICO PRIOR (5) who is clearly back in the game. Shod to preference after a harness conditioner, ISIDORE BONHEUR (7) is a tough campaigner when applied and looks competitively well-in.

1. JOYAU D’INFREVILLE – Sports a new configuration after winning a 2525m Class F at Les Andelys mid-September, but in this category will have more to find

2. JOKER DU LEVANT – Surprising but unthreatening 7th of 15, to JAMBIER (13), in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class E 3 weeks ago, and even racing barefoot, is unlikely to influence the result

3. JOREK – Should not be too hastily-judged for recent 11th of 16, behind JALACTIC (15) in a 2550m Dieppe Class E a fortnight ago. Takes a step up in category though and chances limited

4. JANGO ANGELE – Won at Graignes before being sanctioned in a 2550m Dieppe Class F 3.5 weeks ago. Is undeniably capable and can get a look-in if François Lecanu keeps him trotting

5. JEUNE PRODIGE – Blows hot and cold but is not devoid of ability, which he showed when 3rd of 12 in a 2700m Class F at La Capelle 3 weeks ago. Starts in front and can play a part if he takes to new profile

6. JAYF – Got back in the game at Morlaix on 22 September, coming 3rd of 8 finishers in a 2600m Class E. Reunited with Anthony Barrier and, from the front row, can play a leading role

7. JOKER BODENSEE – Drops in category after finishing last of 10 in a 2850m Vincennes Class D  last Friday. Boasts a fine Cabourg record, is barefoot for the occasion and, with David Thomain in the bike, will be afforded every chance

8. JUSTE CHOIX – Failed to confirm his Graignes performance when 10th of 14 in a 2725m Lisieux Class E on 22 September and, even though fitted with modified shoeing, can be passed over

9. JAGUAR DU RIB – 5th of 10 in a 2850m Laval monté Class D late-August. Here for a change of scenery and can be ruled out

10. JUNKIES MINDS – Surprise 6th of 14 in a 2600m Cherbourg Class B last week, but a repeat is most improbable

11. JILBOUR DEFONTAINE – In the frame in last 4, most recently a fine 3rd of 15 in a 2950m Vicjy Class E late-August. Has freshness on his side, is fitted with front pads for the occasion, and will be competitive for a place on the podium

12. JASMIN DU NORD – Good class of trotter that finished 9th of 12, on re-entry, in a 2500m Reims Class E mid-September. Will be fully-fit by now and has every chance of applying the pressure on JAMBIER (13)

13. JAMBIER – Unable to confirm his Mauquenchy success when breaking into a gallop last week in a 2600m Cherbourg Class B. Is a level better than most here and, even though unproven at Cabourg, is still very hard to ignore. Claim

14. JEANBAT DANOVER – Has done nothing of note for some time, most recently 9th of 14 in a 2725m Lisieux Class E on 22 September, and has no possible chance

15. JALACTIC – Has hardly put a foot wrong since early-June, most recently 2nd of 16 in a 2550m Dieppe Class E a fortnight ago. Takes on better this time though and a minor place chance at best

16. JEU DE MOTS – Highly-impressive winner of a 2800m Vire Class E a month back. Appreciates Cabourg and even from 2nd line, looks a major player

Summary: Most of the main protagonists find themselves on the 2nd row here. JAMBIER (13), reunited with François Lagadeuc who won with him at Mauquenchy 3 weeks ago, looks the pick of the field. Wonderfully-consistent before his break, JASMIN DU NORD (12)  has a race under his belt, has been entrusted to Yoann Lebourgeois for the first time, and debuts at the venue with a good hand to play. JEU DE MOTS (16) enjoys a good entry the limit of earnings and Léo Balu will be eager to confirm his Vire success. 25m better off, and barefoot for the occasion, JAYF (6) gave a reassuring account recently and, with form maintained, is unlikely to disappoint.

1. IASELMA – Failed to impress since imposing at Meslay, most recently sanctioned in a 3200m Class F at Blain-Bouvron-Le Gâvre on 22 September. Just from pads fitted this time though and, if focused, should not be too far off the mark

2. IOKINA DE KERYANN – Showed considerable improvement when 3rd of 14 in a 2775m Craon Class E a month ago. Trainer back in the wagon and the front-row break will do her prospects no harm

3. INSOMNIA ERCA – 10th of 12 in a 2725m Evreux Class H on 22 September. Is not without talent but would be preferred a level down

4. INDIANA TESS – Useful mare making first appearance since being sanctioned in a 2700m Graignes monté Class G late-May, but races shod and will need the run

5. INTENSE DES VAUX – Sent for a rest after finishing 10th of 12 in a 2750m Class F at La Capelle mid-June. Has considerable ability though, appreciates Cabourg, and if fit will be no easy touch

6. ICONE PONT VAUTIER – Was on an excellent streak before faulting in a 2550m Dieppe Class F mid-September. Boasts a 50% win-rate racing clockwise and will have her supporters

7. HUNDRED VICTORY – 5th of 10 in a 2575m Dieppe amateurs Class H a fortnight ago. Is confirmed here, starts in front, and with a leading pilot at the helm, will not go down easily

8. HOELA LESMELCHEN – 9th of 11 in a 2600m Morlaix Class F 11 days ago. Races barefoot this time though, starts in front,  and is not one to be overlooked

9. HAVANA MOST – Has not been seen out since being disqualified in a 2750m Class D here late-July. Unshod for the occasion, ideally-engaged, and must be considered a contender

10. INDIANA DE PLAY – Surprise 2nd of 12, in a 2750m Class E here mid-August. Races shod this time though and can be passed over

11. IMPERIALE DU MONT – Comfortable winner of a 2800m Vire Class E a month ago. Not once out of first 2 in 7 starts this year and, reunited with Guillaume Martin, will be a tough nut to crack

12. HUBINE KERYVON – Unraced since coming 2nd of 7 in a 2700m Graignes monté Class F last February, and will have other priorities

13. IDOLE DE RETZ – Unexceptional lately, most recently finishing 11th of 14 in a 2850m Bréhal Class E on 12 August. Still in ‘conditioning’ mode and poses no danger

14. HEROINE DES LANDES – 8th of 12, on 2nd start since the spell, in a 2950m Le Mans Class E 3 weeks ago, and is unlikely to influence the outcome

15. HESTIA GEDE – 6th of 10, a place behind HOELA LESMELCHEN (8), in a 2700m Guingamp Class F 3.5 weeks ago, when denied a run, but has a lot going for her here and will be expected to play a dominant role

16. HISTORY MAJYC – Starts for first time since running 2nd of 9 in a 2875m Enghien Class D mid-June. Shoes on and no threat

Summary: IMPERIALE DU MONT (11) picked up in 2024 where she left off last season, has won 4 of her last 5 starts, and can wrap this up. She can nevertheless expect to feel considerable heat from the recently unlucky HESTIA GEDE (15) who thrives with Benjamin Rochard, and the tough, and barefoot, HAVANA MOST (9) who enjoys a very good entry. Faithful for the most part, HUNDRED VICTORY (7) steps back up in category and the engagement of Yoann Lebourgeois could make all the difference.

C4 – PRIX DE FERVAQUES – 2725m (a1m1/2) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 22,000

1. L’ARTISTE DE BOMO – 2nd of 12 in a 2725m Lisieux Class E on 22 September. Top pilot engaged for the occasion and has a realistic chance of opening his account

2. LOULOU DE L’AUNAY – Won first 2 but below-par 6th of 11 in a 2750m Class D here mid-August. Has had time to freshen up, drops marginally in category, and can start to put things right

3. LOBSTER DU BELLAY – 6th of 9, a place behind LUCIANO ROYAL (5), in a 2800m Vire Class E a month ago. Enjoys a decent draw but still has more to find

4. LENNON DU VIVIER – Imposed at Amiens on 7 September before losing his action in a 2700m Vincennes Class E a fortnight later. Returns to racing right-handed though and can make a big splash if he deigns to stay in stride

5. LUCIANO ROYAL – Seldom disappoints when focused, latterly 5th of 9 in a 2800m Vire Class E a month ago. Could not have asked for a better draw but still has ground to make up

6. LUXURY DU DOUAROU – Progressive sort that was beaten only by a very good horse in a 2800m Chartres Class E 3 weeks ago. Sports a new configuration and can win this

7. LATHOS DE VIVOIN – Has done everything right so far, most recently defying some bad luck to come 3rd of 11 in a 2450m Caen Class E 12 days ago, but can more than make amends if François Lecanu keeps him out of trouble

8. LANDEVY – Failed to confirm his Vertou success when 5th of 9 finishers in a 2100m Châteauroux Class E mid-September. 4 pads fitted this time however and the engagement of Benjamin Rochard will only work in his favour

9. LUPIN DE MONTCEAU – Put a pair of sanctions behind him to lose his maiden status in a 2725m Evreux Class F 11 days ago, but has a mountain to climb this time

10. LUCKY DELADOU – Made it 3 straight sanctions when faulting in a 2550m Dieppe Class E a month back and must get his house in order

11. LORD DU GRAIS – Got off the mark at first time of asking, 2.5 weeks ago in a 2800m Vire Class G. In better company this time, and starts on back line, but P-Y Verva reining and will be afforded every chance

12. LITTLE ATOUT – Produced his career-best performance when 2nd of 11 in a 2800m Vichy Class E on 21 September but is pitted against better and the draw only compounds matters

13. LE CLASSIC – Useful sort that ran a good 4th of 11 in a Class E over course and distance on 9 August. Will be fresh for his return but will still have to contend with the draw

14. L’AS DES CARAIBES – Won at Evreux before running 2nd of 10 in a 2550m Dieppe Class F mid-September, but the step up in category seems a step too far

Summary: Improving with every run and plainly close to opening his account, LUXURY DU DOUAROU (6) is fitted with 4 pads for the first time and is sufficiently well-placed in front to get off the mark. Sébastien Baude will nevertheless be paying particular attention to LATHOS DE VIVOIN (7) whose recent Caen performance augurs well for his prospects here, and the tricky but talented LENNON DU VIVIER (4) who will be dangerous if Anthony Barrier keeps him trotting. In the frame in 3 of 4, Yoann Lebourgeois takes over the reins on L’ARTISTE DE BOMO (1) who can play a leading role if his driver successfully navigates the start.

1. LUSITANIA – 6th of 12, on return from a spell 12 days ago, in a 2450m Caen Class E. Will have come on for the race and, in spite of a tricky draw, still looks competitive for a minor place cheque

2. LEXOVIENNE – Given an easy re-entry when last of 6 in a 2700m Vincennes Class E a fortnight ago. Will have progressed for the run and is not incapable of making her Cabourg debut a winning one

3. LENDAMA – Ran 3rd at Reims before getting off the mark in a 2400m Amiens Class F on 21 September. Unlikely to repeat but is drawn decently and, with some luck in running, can get a look-in

4. LEEDS – Produced a brace of good performance before trotting 7th of 10 in a 2100m Vincennes Class E on 6 September. Goes clockwise for first time and will not be far from the action if she turns

5. L’AMETHYSTE – 5th of 13 in a 2675m Class E at Le Mont-Saint-Michel 3.5 weeks ago. Is confirmed at the venue and even though breaking wide, still has a lot to offer. Place chance

6. LYSANDRA – Made up for Vincennes blip when 3rd of 12 in a 2600m Class E at Blain-Bouvron-Le Gâvre 11 days ago. Top pilot taking over the reins and looks a serious proposition

7. LEWISIA DE LATOM – Won 2 of last 3, latterly a 2400m Amiens Class F on 21 September, by some margin. Has earned the right to race in this category and, despite the wide draw,  must be respected

8. LILI D’AMOUR – Sprang something of a surprise, on first start following the spell, winning a 2725m Evreux Class F 11 days ago. Handed a tough draw and a repeat seems improbable

9. L’ACCLAMATION – Pulled-up in a 2475m Francheville Class F mid-August. Yet to show any aptitude for the game and can be ruled out

10. LYRIDE ORLOVE – Showed improvement when 2nd of 9 finishers in a 2475m Niort Class E mid-September but takes on a tougher task this time around

11. LEGENDE DU LOISIR – Has ample ability but sanctioned in last 2, most recently a 2100m Vincennes Class E early last month. On back row but can play a small part if she gets off on the right foot

12. LELLAMIKA – Sanctioned in 2 before coming 2nd to LENDAMA (3) in a 2400m Amiens Class F on 21 September. Faces a stiffer test this time and the draw will not help her cause

13. LANIAKEA – Complicated filly that made it 2 sanctions in a row when faulting in a 2400m Amiens Class F on 21 September, and has nothing to contribute

14. LAHORA GALAA – Disqualified when 5th here in August before coming 4th to LENDAMA (3) in a 2400m Amiens Class F on 21 September. Handed a tough draw but is plainly on the way up and must be afforded respect

Summary: Sent for a spell after winning at Amiens in early-June, LEXOVIENNE (2) returns to racing clockwise after her Vincennes conditioner and looks thoroughly capable of opening her autumn account. LYSANDRA (6) however produced a very good effort in the provinces recently and, with 4 pads fitted and Benjamin Rochard in the bike, must also be considered a leading candidate for success. 3rd over shorter here late-August, L’AMETHYSTE (5) may not be easy to handle but is fitted with front pads this time and will have a lot to contribute if she stays in stride from one end of the race to the other. LEWISIA DE LATOM (7) took little time returning to victorious ways and despite the rise in category, still looks a player.

C6 – PRIX DES ROUGES-GORGES – 2750m (a1m1/2) – Class E Race – Mounted – EUR € 22,000

1. KYRIE – Held back after qualifying nicely in April 2023. Is going to need to find his feet and will have few takers

2. KAPTAIN D’HERMINE – Under the saddle for just the 2nd time, most recently finishing 4th of 7 in a 2550m Gournay-en-Bray harness Class F last weekend, and can be confidently disregarded

3. KURT KILY – Unexceptional type that was sanctioned early in a 2450m Caen Class F on 21 September and will struggle to make any impact

4. KAISER DE BANVILLE – Takes to the monté code for first time after losing his action in a 2850m Carentan Class E mid-July. Comes here fresh, sporting a new configuration, with Adrien Lamy on board, and deserves to be taken seriously

5. KANANN – Respectable sort making monté debut after coming 5th of 11 in a 2800m Class F at  Villedieu-les-Poëles early last month but, in this category, will have too much to do

6. KNOWLEDGE DE JEMA – 7th of 11 in a 2000m Rambouillet harness Class F when preparing for this mid-September. Is confirmed in the discipline, races first-time barefoot, and will be no pushover

7. KIDAM DU METZ – Disappointing of late, most recently 7th of 13, behind KARNET DE VOYAGE (14), in a 2700m Graignes Class F a month ago, and has very limited prospects

8. KEEP IT TOGETHER – Failed to confirm his Vichy success when faulting in a 2750m Ecommoy Class E 11 days ago. Has a serious motor though and, with application, will not be far off the mark

9. KENZO VEETA – Unremarkable 6th of 10 finishers in a 2750m Ecommoy Class E on 22 September. Shoes back on and others preferred

10. KOLMI DES EPINES – Last of 10 finishers, behind KENZO VEETA (9), in a 2750m Ecommoy Class E on 22 September. Shoes on this time but still has no possible chance

11. KRAC ROUSSETIERE – Won a 2475m Niort Class F sufficiently well 2.5 weeks ago to warrant taking his chances here and is not to be underestimated

12. KARL LEWIS – Sports modified shoeing after coming 8th of 10 finishers, behind KENZO VEETA (9), in a 2750m Ecommoy Class E on 22 September, but will still need to find more

13. KLIF DE LA MITRIE – 9th of 13 in a 2850m Laval Class E last Sunday. Has been a write-off all year and is not about to buck the trend

14. KARNET DE VOYAGE – Has been knocking at the door recently, latterly 2nd of 13 in a 2700m Graignes Class F a month ago, and is unlikely to be going home empty-handed

15. KALONEK JEWEL – Takes first competitive monté steps after coming 4th of 11 in a 2600m Class F at Blain-Bouvron-Le Gâvre late last month. Unlikely to cause an upset but should nevertheless hold his own

16. KAYAK GEMA – 3rd of 13 in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class E 3 weeks ago, after having run 3rd under these conditions mid-August. Has yet to disappoint for Mathis Champenois and is not about to start. Chance

17. KATKO DES CAILLONS – Left a good impression here before failing to fire in a 2675m Class E at Le Mont-Saint-Michel early-September, coming 7th of 9, but looks the best horse here and can impose this time

18. KING FLEC – Debuts in the discipline after coming 2nd of 12 in a 2775m Class F at Les Sables-d’Olonne a fortnight ago. Alexis Collette gets the nod and, even though stepping up in category, is still worth monitoring

Summary: Bizarrely below-par at Le Mont-Saint-Michel after having run 2nd over course and distance mid-August, KATKO DES CAILLONS (17) is ideally-engaged here, and reunited with Benjamin Rochard who will be expected to put things right. The young talent will still be keeping an eye on KAYAK GEMA (16) who is plainly close to his race, and the returning KNOWLEDGE DE JEMA (6) who goes barefoot for the first time. KRAC ROUSSETIERE (11) steps up in category after opening his account mid-September and will have his chances.

C7 – PRIX DE COULVAIN – 2050m (a1m1/4) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 21,000

1. MALBROUGH DE PLAY – Unplaced in 2 starts here before finishing last but one in a 2200m Vincennes Class D early last month, and is not going to be troubling the judge

2. MAESTRO CELO – Confirmed his good qualification when 2nd of 8 finishers in a 2200m Agon Class G on 26 August. Has had time to come on and will not be far from the action if he turns

3. MARZIPAN – Runner-up first time out but sanctioned early in a 2250m Enghien Class C on 10 August. Is a colt with bags of untapped potential and if he corners well, can make this his own

4. MAESTRO – 6th of 9, behind MAKE A WISH (5), in a Class E over course and distance on 13 August. Enjoys a good draw, has clockwise references, and must be considered a first-5 prospect

5. MAKE A WISH – 3rd on debut before repeating in a 2050m Class E here on 13 August. Expected to live up to his pedigree and can challenge for the win

6. MELANCHOLY MAN – Debuted respectably at Saint-Malo before losing his action in a 2400m Châteaubriant Class E 3.5 weeks ago. Has merit, starts in front and, given the stable’s form, will be no pushover if applied

7. MIKTYSON DE VIETTE – 5th over course and distance late-August before finishing last of 7 in a 2100m Cholet Class D last Sunday. Forced to start wide but can trot and, with François Lagadeuc back in the bike, will be expected to show improvement

8. MACARON – Made little impression in qualification when posting 1’19”6 at Caen mid-June, and is not about to cause an upset

9. MY BUDDY – Thoroughly trounced last of 8, a place behind MALBROUGH DE PLAY (1), in a 2200m Vincennes Class D early last month, and can be confidently passed over

10. MAESTRO DU VOYAGE – Sanctioned on debut before coming 6th of 8 finishers in a 2100m Evreux Class G 11 days ago, and is unlikely to shake things up

11. MYTHIQUE RENKA – Qualified nicely at Caen but could manage only 5th of 7, on debut, in a 2650m Alençon Class F on 1 September, and the draw will do him no favours

12. MISTRAL D’AUVRECY – Respectable 5th of 8 finishers in a 2200m Caen Class F on 9 September, first time out. Has had time to come on and, while not a priority, can still get a look-in

13. MISTER MAGIC – Made little fanfare in qualification before faulting, first time out, in a 2100m Evreux Class G on 22 September. Is here on his merits though and, on good behaviour, will be competitive for a place in the frame

Summary: Below-par at Enghien following a fine debut, MARZIPAN (3) will have been schooled right-handed during his absence and can win this if he takes to the new profile. MAKE A WISH (5) stepped nicely up in category to place over course and distance last time out and is well-positioned to play a leading role. MISTER MAGIC (13) has not been handed the best of draws but he receives a David Thomain drive this time and will be no soft touch if he can keep his charge focused. MAESTRO CELO (2) looks an interesting future prospect and will have progressed for his good debut performance.

C8 – PRIX DE FAVIERES – 2750m (a1m1/2) – Class E Race – Mounted – EUR € 22,000

1. KLEINE SCHEIDEGG – Qualified nicely at Grosbois early-August but was sanctioned on debut in a 2825m Class F at Le Croisé-Laroche 3.5 weeks ago. Has potential, and races barefoot, but looks out of her depth at this level

2. KOUSINE MAJYC – Tricky character that has not been seen out since faulting in a 2625m Cherbourg Class F mid-June. Has yet to finish a race unsanctioned and will not be easy to trust

3. KISS ME DU DOLLAR – Left a good impression at Domfront before finishing last but one in Caen race of reference. No chance

4. KALAMITY GABY – 7th of 9 finishers, behind KALINE DE CONNEE (12), in a 2450m Caen Class F a fortnight ago, and already looks outclassed

5. KEDRIA – 5th of 9 finishers, behind KALINE DE CONNEE (12), in a 2450m Caen Class F a fortnight ago. Consistently gives her best and, in this company, can again make first 5

6. KALYPSO DU CAUX – Made it 3 straight sanctions when faulting in a 2900m Châteauroux harness Class H last Sunday, and can be confidently disregarded

7. KORINA DE BASSIERE – 4th over course and distance mid-August before faulting early in Caen race of reference. Is plainly in fine shape though and, with application, can go far

8. KALINE ERCA – 6th on monté debut 3 weeks ago before running 3rd of 9 in a 2725m Evreux harness Class F 11 days ago. Gets another crack at it but others easier to back

9. KATE JULY – 10th of 12 in a 2800m Tours Class F on 1 September, after having encouraged at Le Touquet. Moves up in category and sports 4 pads this time, but is still being aimed to high

10. KISS ME DE CORTEM – Has struggled since winning in the provinces early-August, most recently faulting in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class E 3 weeks ago. Has looked ordinary of late and can be passed over

11. KIRELLA – Takes first competitive monté steps after faulting in a 2775m Class F at Les Sables-d’Olonne 2 weeks ago. Is not without merit, and sports 4 pads for the occasion, but still seems to be facing a stiff test

12. KALINE DE CONNEE – Surprise 3rd of 9 finishers in a 2450m Caen Class F, on monté debut, a fortnight ago. Shod similarly and will not be sent out at 49/1 on this occasion

13. KRISTINA DU CLOS – Sanctioned in a 2750m Ecommoy Class E on 22 September. Has evident ability, is proven right-handed and, with Benjamin Rochard reining, will be expected to make amends

14. KORIA FLIGNY – Switches back to the ridden code after running 2nd of 8 in a 2800m Moulins harness Class F 3.5 weeks ago. Unseen under the saddle for 17 months but is still not to be discounted

15. KATIE CATZ – Tricky but capable filly that was sanctioned, on re-entry, in a 2400m Amiens Class E 12 days ago. Won right-handed earlier in the summer and, if focused, will be no soft touch

16. KIVIANA – Showed improvement when 4th of 10 finishers in a 2750m Ecommoy Class E 11 days ago and, if not a flash in the pan, will be competitive for a place on the podium

17. KRILLE ELLIS – 4th of 9 finishers in a similar event here on 23 July. Clearly has talent to burn and will have this in the bag if she stays in stride

Summary: Considerably better than her 4th over course and distance last time out, the ideally-engaged KRILLE ELLIS (17) returns fresh and should logically take all the beating. The opposition will take the form of the complicated but talented KATIE CATZ (15) who has won in the day’s configuration, KIVIANA (16) who got back in the game late last month, and the on-form KORINA DE BASSIERE (7) who races unshod-behind for the occasion.
