C1 – PRIX DE FORMENTIN – 2450m (a1m1/2) – Class C Race – Harness – EUR € 27,000 |
1. LUDMILA DETE – 3rd of 7 finishers in a 2175m Vincennes monté Class D on 10 September, but has nothing to offer here
2. LASCAR D’ENFER – Made it 2 straight sanctions when faulting in a 2750m Craon Class B on 23 September. Has ample ability and returns to a hard surface with a reasonable chance of getting around unscathed and into the mix
3. LIBERTY PIYA – Tricky filly that got off the mark at Cabourg before faulting in a 2700m Vincennes Class D earlier this month. Has a big engine though and, on good behaviour, will be no easy touch
4. LADY DE GREZ – Has not been seen out since coming 4th in a 2725m Lisieux Class C early-June. Has won here under the saddle, sports pads again, but is unlikely to cause an upset
5. LA CHENEVIERE – Sanctioned when never threatening in a 2700m Vincennes monté Class D 3.5 weeks ago. Makes harness debut for a change of scenery and can be ruled out
6. LABORANTIN – Has merit but has looked ordinary lately, most recently sanctioned in a 2950m Le Mans Class D a month back, and must get his house in order
7. LINARO – Excellent trotter making first start since winning a 2800m Chartres Class D on 19 June. Shoes on this time and while unlikely to impose can still trot his way into first 5
8. LITTLEKING FOXGLEN – Disappointing in 2 after winning at Mauquenchy, latterly last of 10 in a 2100m Vincennes Class C 8 days ago, and others easier to trust
9. LETTY DE BEYLEV – Won her only start here earlier in the year, but has not been seen out since faulting in a 2700m Vincennes Class C late-May, and can be passed over
10. LODESTAR – Left a very good impression when successful in a 2275m Nantes Class D a fortnight ago. Races shod this time though and a minor place prospect at best
11. LYSANDRA – Unopposed winner of a 2725m Cabourg Class E 9 days ago, and if still on the boil can double up
12. LIBERTE DU GOUTIER – Quality element that ran 8th of 11, on return from a spell, in a 2600m Cherbourg Class B 2.5 weeks ago. Will have come on for the run but is still in conditioning mode and best to hold off
13. LE BOLIDE – Serious type that ran 3rd of 9 in a 2950m Le Mans Class D a month ago. Still searching for that elusive first win but is confirmed here, sports 4 pads this time, and merits considerable respect
14. LADY AURELIA – Tricky but talented filly that ran 7th of 11 finishers in a 2875m Meslay Class D 10 days ago. Has never delivered at this level though and is not about to start
15. LE ROCKER DE PLAY – Missed out by little for the double when 2nd of 9 in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class D early-August. Comes here fresh and, with form maintained, can contest the finish
16. LEDA MESLOISE – 4th of 10 in a 2700m Vincennes Class D 2.5 weeks ago. Debuts right-handed and entrusted to Yoann Lebourgeois for first time, looks a serious player
Summary: Authoritative winner at Cabourg earlier this month, LYSANDRA (11) sports 4 pads again for her Caen debut and has obvious claims on the prize. She can still expect to meet resistance from the well-entered, an on-form, LEDA MESLOISE (16) who could well win this if she takes to the new profile, and the complicated but talented LIBERTY PIYA (3) who imposed at Cabourg before faulting in Paris. Given a short rest after her good summer streak, LE ROCKER DE PLAY (15) returns to Caen a more experienced horse and will be competitive for a step on the podium.

C2 – PRIX DE BRAINVILLE – 2450m (a1m1/2) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 24,000 |
1. JEWENNE DE L’EPINE – Unraced since being sanctioned in a 2850m Bréhal Class F early-August and has no realistic chance
2. JUVA DE CABERT – 9th of 11 in a 2825m Moulins Class H on 8 September. Has been a write-off for some time and will have few, if any, takers
3. JOUEUSE MAJYC – Off the boil for much of the year, latterly last of 10 in a 2850m Vincennes Class E a fortnight ago and, barefoot or not, can be confidently disregarded
4. JACINTHE D’AZUR – Modest 7th of 11 in a 2775m Class F at Les Sables-d’Olonne 3 weeks ago. Has placed just once in 7 this term and will have nothing to contribute
5. JAMIE LEE WHITE – Got off the mark at Bagnoles-de-l’Orne [at 33rd time of asking] before coming 2nd of 7 in a 2500m Class F at Bihorel-lès-Rouen on 8 September. Just front shoes off and, in this category, will have too much to do
6. JABOROSA BLUE – 4th in a Cabourg claimer before trotting 5th of 10 in a 2675m Class F at Le Mont-Saint-Michel early last month. Takes on a tougher lot this time and chances limited
7. JAMINA DES CHASSES – Defied her odds to win a 2200m Class E here on 18 September. Cédric Terry reining on this occasion and will be sent out in single digits this time around
8. JILDA DE FONTAINE – Steps up in category after winning a 2700m Thouars Class F mid-September. Has already won over course and distance, sports a new configuration, and will not be far from the action
9. JAKA DU RUEL – Disappointing since imposing at Bréhal during the summer, most recently 6th of 12 in a 2525m Class F at Les Andelys mid-September, and is unlikely to cause an upset
10. JADE DU DAN – Out of sorts when sanctioned in a 2200m Class E here 3.5 weeks ago. Showed her form at Cabourg though and, with David Thomain reining, will be afforded every chance
11. JASMINE DU MELEUC – 6th of 11 when preparing for this in a 3100m Class F at Nort-sur-Erdre mid-September. Has been excelling right-handed but is being aimed a bit too high this time
12. JUSTE PARFAITE – Ran 7th here before coming last of 7 in a 2050m Laval Class E on 26 September. Benjamin Rochard takes over the reins and can get in on the action if he gets her off on the right foot
13. JESSY DE DAUX – Unexceptional 6th of 7 in a 2050m Laval Class E on 26 September. Is not without merit though and, with some luck in running, can get a look-in
14. JALNA DU BUISSON – Faulted early in a 2050m Laval Class E late last month. Is new to the venue but is reunited with Lecanu who won with her at Graignes and, with application, can play a prominent role
15. JAMAICA DE LOU – Ran 2nd twice before running out of puff, coming 11th of 13 in a 2700m Class E at La Capelle on 23 September. Fitted with front pads for first time, entrusted to François Lagadeuc, and should not be overlooked
16. JENA JOSSELYN – Produced some fine efforts this term before coming 7th of 14 in a 2800m Langon Class F 3 weeks ago. Enjoys a good entry and Lebourgeois maintaining faith speaks volumes
Summary: Something of an open affair this but it is still hard to ignore the well-engaged JENA JOSSELYN (16) who is reunited with Yoann Lebourgeois. The complicated JAMINA DES CHASSES (7) pulled off a 96/1 coup here last month and must be taken more seriously this time. JALNA DU BUISSON (14) has been struggling somewhat but registered her last success with François Lecanu and warrants respect. JADE DU DAN (10) should not be too hastily-judged for her recent blip.

C3 – PRIX D’AIREL – 2200m (a1m1/2) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 24,000 |
1. KISS ME BEJI – 7th of 12 in a 2450m Class E here 3 weeks ago. Won here late-spring and, although not ideally-positioned in front, can still put on a good show. First 5
2. KERIDA BEST – 9th of 12 finishers, on return from a spell, in a 2450m Class E here 3 weeks ago. Will have come on for the run and, barefoot for re-entry, will have her chances
3. KALINE DJOB – Disappointing on the whole this year, most recently sanctioned in a 2750m Ecommoy Class E on 8 September, and is not about to cause an upset
4. KORIGANE D’ERABLE – Sanctioned when preparing for this in a 2450m Class E 3 weeks ago. Is clearly at the top of her game however and, shod to preference, will be no easy touch. Chance
5. KAHINA DE LATZ – Held her own to run 5th of 12 in a 2700m Vincennes Class D 3 weeks ago. Has good speed, is well-positioned behind the car, and should not be underestimated
6. KIRA DE CAHOT – Never-dangerous 7th of 12 in a 2550m Reims Class B mid-September. Flopped on only Caen appearance and, even sporting a modified configuration, looks to have too much to do
7. KENZA SUPREME – 11th of 12, on first start since the break, in a 2450m Class E here 3 weeks ago. The run will have done her good and, barefoot this time, can play an active role
8. KASTA DU RIB – Yet to deliver at Caen but won a 2850m Laval Class E last Saturday. Just front pads fitted and looks more a minor place chance this time
9. KIRENE FLASH – 4th of 9 in a 2700m Vincennes Class D on 6 September. Races shod this time though and others preferred
10. KLARA – Respectable 4th of 11 finishers in a 2875m Enghien Class E late last month but still has to take her game up a notch
11. KENTIA HAUFOR – Has not been seen out since easily winning a 2300m Chateaubriant Class F on 6 August. Front pads fitted however and, although breaking from back line, can still make her presence felt
12. KALIFA MESLOISE – Out of the picture in all 4 starts this term, latterly sanctioned in a 2700m Vincennes Class D 3 weeks ago, and can be passed over
13. KANDIE DJOB – Sprang quite the surprise winning a 2626m Class E at Saint-Jean-de-Monts
on 18 August. Modified shoeing and a repeat seems most improbable
14. KALINE DU BOULAY – A write-off since returning this summer, latterly sanctioned in a 2850m Laval Class E last weekend. Disregard
15. KALYTA LOVE – Makes her Caen bow on a hat-trick, most recently dominating a 2800m Vichy Class E 3 weeks ago. Forced to start wide on 2nd line but can still secure the 3-timer
16. KAMA D’EM – Did not enjoy the best of trips, coming 9th of 12 in a 2700m Vincennes Class D on 20 September. Has been handed a shocking draw though and others easier to back
Summary: Facile winner of her last two, KALYTA LOVE (15) has been handed a tough draw for her Caen debut but is still good enough to impose. She will nevertheless be opposed by the better -positioned and improving KORIGANE D’ERABLE (4), and KENZA SUPREME (7) who is barefoot for her first objective of the new season. Winner here earlier in the year, KERIDA BEST (2) races barefoot following her Caen freshener and is unlikely to disappoint.

C4 – PRIX DE LOUCELLES – 2450m (a1m1/2) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 35,000 |
1. GARD – Hard to fault this season, most recently dominating a 2875m Meslay-du-Maine Class E 10 days ago and, with form maintained, can double his money
2. HARCANGELO D’AMOUR – 7th of 12, on return from a spell, in a 2700m Segré Class D last weekend. Goes barefoot, with David Thomain in the bike, and should not be overlooked
3. GOELAND GEMA – Encouraged in a Vincennes claimer before finishing 7th of 12 in a 2800m Villedieu Class E mid-September. Benjamin Rochard reining but still not an obvious choice
4. GREAT D’ARRY – Not without merit but below-par in last 2, most recently 6th of 16 in a 2550m Dieppe Class F mid-September. On front line this time, and competitively-shod, but may still need to find more
5. GAMAY DES CROUAS – Won 2 in a row before enduring a horrible run, coming 8th of 13 in a 2950m Vichy Class E mid-September. Is confirmed here and from the front line, can put things right
6. HESTIA GEDE – Reassuring 4th of 14 in a 2750m Cabourg Class D earlier this month. Consistently gives her best, appreciates Caen, and is unlikely to be far off the mark
7. GIPSY THORIS – Good, consistent trotter stepping up in category after winning a 2100m Vincennes claimer last Tuesday. Enjoys a front-line start and is not incapable of setting the cat among the pigeons
8. GOLDY SMILE – 10th of 14 in a 2100m Vincennes Class E early-September when being conditioned for this. Could not have hoped for a better entry and must be considered a live chance
9. GOLDORACK – 7th of 13, behind GAMIN DE MAHEY (16), in a 2150m Enghien Class D late last month. Forced to start on 2nd row here and, with front pads fitted, has no possible chance
10. FELINE DE CALVI – 14th of 16 in a 2775m Craon Gr.3 on 2 September. Has form at a superior level but races shod this time and not a priority
11. HELIOS SOMOLLI – 2nd of 13 in a 2100m Vincennes Class D on 13 September. Has never disappointed at Caen and even from the back line can play an important role
12. GAUDEPSOU – 9th of 15, to GARD (1), in a 2875m Meslay Class E on 2 October, and again looks an outsider
13. GENET DE BOITRON – Disappointing since imposing at Redon last month, latterly 10th of 12 in a 2875m Enghien Class D last Monday. Will appreciate returning to racing clockwise and can make first 5 this time
14. GARDE A VOUS – Sanctioned in a 2625m Alencon Class E last Sunday. Is clearly off his porridge and can be passed over
15. FALTO DES LANDIERS – Sanctioned, after a year off, in a 2625m Alencon Class E last weekend. Has other priorities and can be disregarded
16. GAMIN DE MAHEY – 5th of 13 in a 2150m Enghien Class D late last month. On back line but has already won here and the excellent entry will only work to his advantage. Chance
Summary: GARD (1) left a very good impression at Toulouse before easily winning at Meslay earlier in the month and, even in the absence of Eric Raffin, can repeat. François Lagadeuc will nevertheless be keeping a keen eye on the wonderfully-engaged GOLDY SMILE (8) who has won 2 of his last 3 racing clockwise, and GAMIN DE MAHEY (16) whose form is good enough to negate the 25m handicap. The Caen-loving HELIOS SOMOLLI (11) gave a reassuringly-good account in Paris last month and must be afforded more respect this time.

1. HIMBERLAND – 10th of 12, on return to competition, in a 2700m Vincennes harness Class D 8 days ago. Races barefoot for first time under the saddle, but others still preferred
2. GENERAL – Sanctioned when never dangerous in a 2175m Vincennes Class D 2 weeks ago. Disappointing on the whole for some time and can be passed over
3. HOTKATISSIME – Made up for his Vincennes blip when victorious in a 2950m Le Mans Class E a month ago. Has delivered just once in 6 starts here but, in current condition, is arguably worth a punt
4. HUDSON VEDAQUAIS – Has not been seen out since being sanctioned in a 2800m Bernay harness Class E on 25 August. Has nothing to contribute and can be disregarded
5. HURIEL LUDOIS – Quality dual-discipline type that ran 12th of 15, on comeback, in a 2875m Meslay harness Class E 10 days ago. Won an Enghien Class D last time under the saddle and looks an important consideration
6. HORSY ROYAL – Serious sort that ran 5th of 12, at 126/1, on re-entry in a 2700m harness Class C at Le Croisé-Laroche 10 days ago. Won over course and distance during the summer and can give IMPALA DE VAL (11) a run for his money
7. FERRERO DU LOISIR – Left a good impression at Meslay 10 days ago when 3rd of 10 in a 2875m Class D. Is new to Caen but should appreciate the profile and is not about to disappoint
8. HUGO OCCAGNES – Never at his ease when 6th of 10, behind FERRERO DU LOISIR (7), in a 2875m Meslay Class D 10 days ago. Placed just once in 4 here though and not an obvious choice
9. FIDELE MADRIK – Has 2 races under his belt since the break, latterly 6th of 13 in a 2650m Cordemais harness Class D last Sunday. Has never disappointed at Caen but is out of his league this time
10. HARDI CROWN – Good consistent servant that ran an admirable 3rd of 13 in a 2150m Enghien harness Class D on 30 September. Is as good in one code as the other and has every chance of trotting his way onto the podium
11. IMPALA DE VAL – Won 3 of 4 before losing his action in a 2700m Vincennes harness Class B a fortnight ago. Has won 2 of 3 over course and distance and will be expected to continue his love-affair with the venue
Summary: Pierre-Edouard Mary has found the perfect entry for his prolific IMPALA DE VAL (11) who seldom meets defeat in this branch of the business. Shod to preference for his return to the code, he looks a marginally better bet than the reconfigured HORSY ROYAL (6) who won here mid-June. Hard to knock when focused, FERRERO DU LOISIR (7) showed his form at Meslay and, competitively-shod this time, must be considered a contender. HARDI CROWN (10) is a model of consistency, is proven right-handed, and will have an active role to play.

1. GLORIOSO BELLO – Encouraged at Amiens before running 6th of 13 in a 2750m Cabourg Class E last Saturday and, in this company, will have too much to do
2. INDIGO PIERJI – Oddly out of sorts when 7th of 12 in a 3225m Vitré Class E last Sunday. Should not be too hastily-judged though, is 25m better off this time, and must be respected
3. GAVROCHE DE L’ITON – Lost his way after a profitable spring, latterly 8th of 13 in a 2550m Dieppe Class E 3.5 weeks ago, and will need to raise his game
4. GAMIN D’ALJY – Last but one, after a long layoff, in a 2650m Cordemais Class D last weekend. Still being conditioned and others preferred
5. IACYNTHE DIDJEAP – Makes right-handed debut after running 4th of 11 in a 2700m Vincennes Class D 3 weeks ago. Enjoys a front-line break and could pleasantly surprise if he turns
6. IMPERATOR D’ELA – Returns to racing clockwise after coming an unlucky 5th of 11 in a 2700m Vincennes Class D on 20 September. Starts in front and can make a big splash if Anthony Barrier keeps him out of trouble
7. INFINIMENT CITRON – Won 4 from 5 before coming 2nd of 9 in a 3000m Chateaubriant Class E on 8 September. Steps up in category but has earned the right to race here and has the class to make this his own
8. GETEHI DU NOYER – Has gone from strength to strength over recent weeks, most recently 2nd of 12 in a 2850m Vincennes Class D on 29 September. Is proven here and although taking on younger elements this time, can still play a role
9. HORS BORD – Back under harness after trotting 6th of 10 in a 2700m Vincennes monté Class D mid-September. Nicely-entered on front line and, barefoot this time, can get a look-in
10. FALCO DES ROCHERS – 10th of 12 in a 2700m Vincennes Class C on 19 September. Has been off the boil all year and, even racing barefoot, has no realistic chance
11. GALAGO DU CADRAN – 3rd of 10 in a 2000m Class B at Les Sables 2 months ago. Has had time to freshen up and, given his appreciation for these conditions, can overcome the penalty and finish close
12. HAPPY DANICA – Won 2 of last 3, latterly a 2700m Vincennes Class B a fortnight ago. Incurs the handicap but is a class above most here and has a realistic chance of imposing
13. GUIDE MOI FORGAN – Has not been seen out since coming 10th of 14 in a 2850m Vincennes Class B late-May. Shoes on and no danger
Summary: A stalwart in this category of race, INFINIMENT CITRON (7) has not been seen here since 2022 but is in the form of his life, breaks in front, and looks the pick of the field. HAPPY DANICA (12) has 25m further to travel but has been superb in Paris lately and is eminently capable of defying the penalty. IMPERATOR D’ELA (6) was very unlucky at Vincennes last time; his form is sure though and he looks dangerous from the front row. In cracking form all year, GALAGO DU CADRAN (11) has a particular liking for Caen and, fresh from a spell, is not about to let the side down.

1. JOURNAC DIESCHOOT – Returns to racing barefoot after faulting in a 2400m Amiens conditioner last weekend. Leading driver in the bike this time and must be respected
2. JAZZ – Sanctioned in a 2725m Cabourg Class E, on seasonal re-entry, late-August. Will have come on but, in this company, will have little to offer
3. JOSVIL – Capable type that finished last of 11, on return to competition, in a 2625m Agen Class F mid-September. Shoes off this time but others still preferred
4. JUNIOR DU CHATELET – 6th of 11 when preparing for this in a 3200m Class F at Blain-Bouvron-Le Gâvre 3 weeks ago. Excels with his driver and, if fully-fit, can play a leading role
5. JUSTAUCORPS – Sanctioned here last month before finishing 9th of 15 in a 2700m Class E at Le Croisé-Laroche 10 days ago, and can expect to remain friendless
6. JAGUAR D’HERMES – Made up for his blip at Les Sables when 2nd of 11 in a 2850m Laval Class E mid-September. Right-handed form is unsure but will be dangerous if he turns
7. JOKER DE VOUEDE – Honest trotter that ran 5th of 14 in a 2800m Bernay Class F late-August. Has freshness on his side, is barefoot for the occasion, and can pick up a cheque if he stays focused
8. JET SPE – Encouraged at Amiens before finishing 6th of 8 in a 2175m Vincennes Class E a month ago. In his element racing clockwise but still cannot be considered a priority
9. JET NONANTAIS – Respectable 4th of 9 in a 3000m Châteaubriant Class D early last month. Is back in his category and has every chance of imposing
10. JEST THE BEST – Easily won a 2750m Ecommoy Class F 3 weeks ago. Has hardly put a foot out of place recently and, front shoes off this time, moves back up in category with a good hand to play
11. JOSIO DU POMMEREUX – Has 2 races under his belt, most recently last but one in a 2150m Vichy Class E 3 weeks ago, and others easier to back
12. JAOUEN – Placed twice before running 4th of 7 in a 2200m Class E here on 9 September. Franck Nivard at the helm this time and should be good enough to challenge for the win
13. JACKPOT DE VIETTE – 6th of 16 in a 2700m Class E at La Capelle on 23 September. Consistently in thick of things, races barefoot but, on this occasion, will need to find more
14. JAGUAR DE ROZEVIC – In cracking form but never far from faulting, which he showed when sanctioned in a 2850m Vincennes Class E 3 weeks ago. Pleased on lone appearance here however and should not be discounted
15. JACKSON HAUFOR – Useful type that finished last of 9 in a 2050m Laval Class E, on re-entry late last month. Still in conditioning mode and best to hold off
16. JUST DE LA MORTRIE – Has not been seen out since winning a 2150m Vichy Class F on 1 July. Shoes off for comeback and best to wait
Summary: Winner of 3 in a row during the summer, and winner of his only Caen appearance, JET NONANTAIS (9) drops marginally in category and is thoroughly capable of wrapping this up. David Thomain will still want to be wary of JAOUEN (12), who has been knocking at the door, and the on-form JAGUAR D’HERMES (6) who races clockwise for just the 2nd time. JUNIOR DU CHATELET (4) has never disappointed for Mathieu Mottier and, in current form, his place is in the frame.

1. LOUPIAC DE GODREL – Modest 6th of 10 in a 2100m Vincennes harness Class C 8 days ago, and makes his monté debut on a prayer
2. LUTTE DU LOGIS – Unremarkable 4th to LEGENDE DU GOUTIER (8) in a 2700m Vincennes Class C early last month. Aspirations outweigh expectations though and can be passed over
3. LOTUS PAULOIS – Showed the limits of his capacity when 7th of 10 behind LOCHAN (9) in a 2700m Vincennes Class A 3 weeks ago. Ignore
4. L’AS DE COEUR – Hard to fault lately in this branch of the business, most recently 2nd of 8 in a 2700m Vincennes Class C on 3 September, but at this level of competition, will have too much to do
5. LUXOR DE VILLABON – Back in the discipline after finishing 6th of 7 in a 2950m Toulouse harness Class B a fortnight ago. Hind pads fitted but is not made for this class of racing and can be ruled out
6. LAMBADA DU GOUTIER – Went into her summer break on a high note, returning 3 weeks ago to finish 4th behind LOCHAN (9) in a 2700m Vincennes Class A. Will have progressed, sports 4 pads for first time, and looks an interesting outside chance
7. LUZ FATALE – Courageous 6th of 10 in a 2700m Vincennes Class A 3 weeks ago, but has never finished better than 4th in a Gr.3 and will have her work cut out
8. LEGENDE DU GOUTIER – Won 3 from 4 before finishing 3rd of 10, a place behind LOCHAN (9), in a 2700m Vincennes Class A 3 weeks ago. Similarly-configured and is worth keeping an eye on
9. LOCHAN – Progressive colt taking a big hike in class after coming 2nd of 10 in a 2700m Vincennes Class A 3 weeks ago. Is clearly a progressive colt and will not be far from the action if he turns
10. LIBERTINE DJOB – Defied her odds to run 4th of 7 in 2700m Vincennes Gr.2 Prix de Basly on 13 September. Unlikely to repeat but can still hold her own
11. LUCAS – 2nd of 7, at 29/1, in 2700m Vincennes Gr.2 Prix de Basly on 13 September. Pads fitted this time and is thoroughly capable of making his way into the mix
12. LOVISSIME – Won first 3 monté starts before coming 5th of 7 finishers, behind LUTIN DES BORDES (15), in 2700m Gr.1 Prix d’Essai late-June. Sports pads for re-entry, will be fresh, and looks a respectable first-5 prospect
13. LYZIA DES AGETS – 9th of 10, on re-entry, in a 2700m Vincennes harness Gr.3 a fortnight ago. 5th in Caen race of reference, has won in this class, and justifiably warrants significant respect
14. LET ME SHINE GIO – Last but one when being conditioned for this in a 2700m Vincennes harness Gr.2 late-August. Has bags of ability but also has a temperament. Change of shoeing though and with application, can get a look-in
15. LUTIN DES BORDES – Sanctioned on first start since the break, in a 2700m Vincennes harness Gr.1 on 14 September. 2nd to LITTLE ORELIE (16) in Gr.2 Prix de Basly late-June and, with hind pads fitted, will be no soft touch
16. LITTLE ORELIE – Sanctioned on return to competition a month ago, in 2700m Vincennes Gr.2 Prix de Basly. Won Gr.2 Prix Pierre Gamare over track and trip during the spring and if she disposes of LUTIN DES BORDES (15), the race is hers for the taking
Summary: On paper, this looks a 2-horse race between LITTLE ORELIE (16) who won the Gr.2 Prix Pierre Gamare over course and distance in May, and the reconfigured LUTIN DES BORDES (15) who finished runner-up to her that day before turning the tables on her in the Prix d’Essai. But racing being what it is, nothing is a guarantee, which leaves the door open for the padded LYZIA DES AGETS (13) who beat Mathieu Mottier’s filly during the spring, and the reliably-performant LOCHAN (9) who races here on his merits.

C9 – PRIX DE BLAINVILLE SUR ORNE – 2200m (a1m1/2) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 24,000 |
1. KYMJO DE BELFOND – On a decent run of form these days, latterly 5th of 9 in a 2950m Toulouse Class C 3 weeks ago. Would, however, be preferred at a lower level
2. KASSOUMAYE – Good future prospect making first start since coming 2nd of 10 in a 2700m Vincennes Class D late-May. Shoes on though and best to wait
3. KANAK DU BOCAGE – Last but one, on return to competition, to KYLEBEAU DU LUOT (9) in a Class E over course and distance 3 weeks ago. Will have progressed for the run and looks a serious candidate
4. KALEO DE BANVILLE – Steps back up in class after dominating a 2850m Vincennes claimer on 5 September. Unlikely to repeat but the draw will do his prospects no disservice
5. KAISER GRIFF – Produced 4 good efforts before failing to fire, coming last of 8 in a 2775m Class E at Les Sables-d’Olonne late-August. Returns fresh, is ideally-placed in front, and should logically play an active role
6. KASH DE TILLARD – Unraced since finishing 11th of 13 in a 2850m Bréhal Class E 2 months ago. Has looked ordinary this term and can be ruled out
7. KISS YOU PIYA – Returns to racing clockwise after running [a somewhat unlucky] 6th of 12 in a 2700m Vincennes Class D early last month. Is plainly in form and looks good enough to make first 5
8. KING BLACK DANOVER – Failed to confirm his Cabourg performance when sanctioned in a 2950m Toulouse Class C on 20 September. Starts wide and others easier to back
9. KYLEBEAU DU LUOT – Comfortable winner of a Class E over course and distance 3 weeks ago. Has shown a different side since starting to race barefoot and, with Lebourgeois in the bike, can defy the draw and repeat
10. KOKA RIGHT – Courageous 5th of 10 in a 2700m Vincennes Class D 3.5 weeks ago. Won twice right-handed over the summer and will not be far off the mark if Franck Nivard successfully navigates the start
11. KOUROUX – Encouraged at Vire before running 7th to KYLEBEAU DU LUOT (9) in a 2450m Class E here 3 weeks ago. Not a priority but can play a small part if he gets off on the right foot
12. KEKOA – 6th of 10, a place behind KOKA RIGHT (10), in a 2700m Vincennes Class D 3.5 weeks ago. Honest mare with form at the venue but still no more than a minor place prospect
13. KRYSTAL DU RUEL – 8th of 16, behind KYLEBEAU DU LUOT (9) in a 2450m Class E here 3 weeks ago. Proved himself right-handed at Bréhal and will not be far off the mark if David Thomain manages to keep him trotting
14. KEOPS BEGONIA – Has not been seen out since faulting early in a 2150m Vichy Class D on 3 August. Has had time to recalibrate and will be no pushover if Anthony Barrier assures his initial strides
15. KINOS DE CRENNES – Got off the mark at Le Sap before faulting in a 2725m Lisieux Class F 3 weeks ago. Takes a big step up in category and the draw only compounds matters
16. KART HAUFOR – 14th of 16, behind KYLEBEAU DU LUOT (9,) in a 2450m Class E here 3 weeks ago. Has bags of talent but stays shod and will not be given a hard race
Summary: KYLEBEAU DU LUOT (9) showed his superiority over longer here late last month, continuing his rejuvenating barefoot streak. Winner of 2 from 3 with Yoann Lebourgeois reining, he returns to the venue and, despite the draw, can confirm. KEOPS BEGONIA (14) does not enjoy the best position either but he comes fresh to Caen and, with application, can play an important role. KANAK DU BOCAGE (3) has a run under his belt following the summer break and, barefoot from the 3-spot, will have his chances. KRYSTAL DU RUEL (13) sports a new configuration and will be expected to show marked improvement on his latest effort.

ASHNAK (1) showed plenty of inexperience on his debut and will be more focused this time. He can make the frame. AL AALI (7) has also shown talent in both runs and makes up the shortlist.

4. GIMANZOR – Absent since finishing 3rd at Vichy over 1850m on 19 August. Lightly raced gelding open to improvement on his reappearance

Summary: BELL SONG (2), returning to the course of her last success, and MAFALDA STORY (3), who is at home on this track, could find themselves fighting for victory. However, HAARICIA (10) wouldn’t be winning out of turn and could challenge those rivals for race honours.
