C1 – PRIX MOET & CHANDON – 2850m (a2m) – Class F Race – Harness – EUR € 20,000 |
1. KITKO TEJY – 6th of 10 in a 2900m Challans Class F last weekend. Has looked ordinary of late and can be confidently passed over
2. KENYA FLIGNY – Has merit but sanctioned in 3 of last 4, latterly a 2775m Class E at Les Sables on 21 October and, revised configuration or not, can be passed over
3. KRUG LOVER – Sanctioned in a 2850m Parilly Class E on 18 September. Has merit but too frequently sanctioned to be afforded much trust
4. KANTARO DU TRESOR – 10th of 12, on return to competition, in a 2775m Class F at Les Sables on 20 September. Has previously won here but appears to have too much to do this time
5. KALKO D’OURVILLE – Won at Le Pertre before finishing 9th of 13 in a 3250m Saumur class F on 20 October. Goes barefoot with Franck Nivard reining and should not be overlooked
6. KHEOPS DORE – Failed to confirm his good run at Les Sables when 8th of 11 in a 3000m Nantes Class E 3.5 weeks ago. Configured differently this time, is proven at Laval, and is unlikely to disappoint
7. KRONOS DE BRION – Ran 2nd at Alencon before winning a 2750m Class E at Angouleme on 6 October. Takes on better this time but still looks good enough to make the frame
8. KING STEED – Reassuring 3rd of 8 in a 2300m Chateaubriant Class F in early-August. Has been rested since but sports a competitive configuration for re-entry and, already confirmed here, must not be underestimated
9. KANDJAR RANAIS – Pleasantly surprising 2nd of 10 in a 2600m Morlaix Class F on 22 September, but is being aimed too high here
10. KNOCKANDO – Laval-loving trotter making first start since coming 5th of 12 in a 2700m Vincennes Class E last March and best to hold off
11. KORO DE LA COUR – Honest type that trotted 4th of 8 finishers in a 3100m Class E at Nort-sur-Erdre mid-September. Unlikely to spring a surprise but races unshod-behind and should hold his own
12. KAYAK GEMA – 7th of 11 in a 2750m Cabourg monté Class E on 3 October. Here for a change of scenery and can be ruled out
13. KASH GAGOU – Last but one in a 3250m Saumur Class F on 20 October. Front pads fitted this time but has been off the boil for a while and chances seem limited
14. KIRSCH DES PRES – Last but one when preparing for this in a 2750m Cabourg Class D mid-October. Is a different horse when unshod-behind and can fight out the finish
15. KOKTAIL LUDOIS – Has not been seen out since finishing 7th of 12 in a Class E over course and distance late-August. Is superbly-entered and can win this if he disposes of KIRSCH DES PRES (14)
Summary: Quite an open affair this with the similarly well-engaged KOKTAIL LUDOIS (15), who returns fresh from a spell, set to do battle with KIRSCH DES PRES (14) who ran 3rd here mid-September when unshod-behind. A freshly-configured KING STEED (8) made up for his Enghien clinker with a solid run at Chateaubriant, and looks marginally preferable to KRONOS DE BRION (7) who has won 2 of his last 4.

C2 – PRIX PRESIDENT PROFESSIONNEL – 2850m (a2m) – Class B Race – Harness – EUR € 30,000 |
1. LEON DE LA COURBE – 4th of 9 in a 2700m Vincennes monté Class B mid-October. Has other priorities and can be ruled out
2. LARGO LIGNERIES – Has not been seen out since being sanctioned in a 2875m Enghien Class C late-July. Hails from a good yard and it is only a matter of time before he gets back in the game
3. LADY DADA – 6th of 10, behind LITTLE STRAWBERRY (16), in a 2775m Class B at Les Sables-d’Olonne 11 days ago. Should take well to Laval conditions and is worth keeping an eye on
4. LYRIKO BELLO – Useful colt making first appearance since coming 2nd of 11 in a 2700m Vincennes Class C last May. Pads off and not a priority this time
5. LUTIN DE REUX – Serious future prospect that ran a very good 3rd of 12 in a 2850m Vincennes Class C 10 days ago. Ideally-placed in front and is not incapable of imposing this time
6. LUDIVINE – Honest filly making first start for 2 months after having run 4th of 11 in a 2850m Vincennes Class C. Would be preferred a category down though
7. LOOK AT ME LULU – Sanctioned in a 2800m Rambouillet Class B on 6 October. Is clearly capable and will be no pushover if applied, but others still easier to trust
8. LOTI SOLO – 5th of 9, behind LEON DE LA COURBE (1), in a 2700m Vincennes monté Class B mid-October. Here for a change of scenery and will have nothing to offer
9. LAVALLOISE GIRL – Unraced since coming 2nd of 7 in a 2875m Enghien monté Class B late-June. Here for reasons of conditioning and can be confidently passed over
10. LA DIVA SUPREME – Sanctioned in last 2, most recently a 2700m Vincennes Class A a fortnight ago. Shod this time, but ability is not in doubt, and can play an active part if Matthieu Abrivard keeps her focused
11. LEADER D’AIMTE – Would have finished closer than 5th of 7 in a 2700m Vincennes Class A mid-October had the door not shut. Franck Nivard in the bike this time and will be expected to put things right
12. LUMINOUS STAR – Ran 3rd of 10, a place behind LAKARA (13), in a 2700m Vincennes Class A 2 weeks ago. Will be fully fit by now and looks competitive for a first-5 payout
13. LAKARA – Put a pair of clinkers behind her when 2nd of 10 in a 2700m Vincennes Class A 2 weeks ago. Pads off this time but can still get in on the action
14. LIZY JOSSELYN – Reassured at Rambouillet before being sanctioned in Les Sables race of reference. Not a priority but will generate some interest
15. LASH PERRINE – 8th of 10 behind LITTLE STRAWBERRY (16), on first start since summer break, in a 2775m Class B at Les Sables-d’Olonne 11 days ago. Shoes on again and no threat
16. LITTLE STRAWBERRY – Solid 2nd of 10 finishers in a 2775m Class B at Les Sables-d’Olonne 11 days ago. Starts on back row but still has the wherewithal to win this
17. LILAS CASTELLE – Met no opposition en route to victory in a 2825m Chartres Class B a fortnight ago and is in with a decent chance of confirming
18. LEMON TREE – Classy individual that is still in conditioning mode after running 5th of 8 to LILAS CASTELLE (17) in a 2825m Chartres Class B a fortnight ago, and best to hold off
Summary: Back at her best over recent weeks, LILAS CASTELLE (17) comfortably won at Chartres recently and even from the second line has a realistic chance of repeating. She will be directly opposed though by the progressive LUTIN DE REUX (5) who breaks with a 25m head-start, and LITTLE STRAWBERRY (16) who gave a very good account at Les Sables on her comeback. LEADER D’AIMTE (11) was not the most fortunate in Paris last time but can more than make amends if Franck Nivard keeps him out of trouble.

C3 – PRIX CREDIT AGRICOLE – ANJOU MAINE – 2850m (a2m) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 31,000 |
1. INFLUENCE – Unraced since faulting in a 3000m Nantes Class E last June. Better under the saddle and has no possible chance
2. INCISIF VAUCEEN – 9th of 12 in a 2100m Vincennes Class E 3 weeks ago. Has 3 runs in him by now and if fully-fit, can get a look-in
3. I KEEP CALM – 7th of 11 to IQUEM D’AMER (12) in a 2650m Class D here late-September. Won over course and distance last spring but still looks to have too much to do
4. HERMES DE BELHEME – 2nd of 13 in a 3150m Class F at La Roche-Posay 2 months ago. Shod for re-entry and best to wait
5. HELIOS D’EURVAD – 8th of 13 to HALL BLACK MESS (15) in a 2700m Graignes Class F 2 weeks ago. Hind shoes off this time but still not easy to recommend
6. HOPPELA THEPOL – Sanctioned in a 2775m Class D at les Sables 11 days ago. Has merit but is never easy to gauge and others easier to back
7. IBERA – 7th of 14 in a 2650m Alencon Class F early last month following a long layoff. Just front pads fitted this time and a minor place chance at best
8. HERMINE DU GUELIER – 7th of 14 in a 2875m Meslay monté Class F in early-October and has nothing to contribute
9. HAMIGO – Has not been seen out since winning a 2450m Caen Class F last June. Sports 4 pads for re-entry though and, like many of Mathieu Mottier’s horses, should be fresh for comeback. Place chance
10. ILMAT DES KECHES – Made it 2 on the trot when dominating a 3000m Borely Class E 3 weeks ago. Excellent in last 2 Laval starts and can expect to garner the lion’s share of support
11. IGGY POP DE CHENU – Got back in the game at Meslay but failed to confirm last Sunday when 8th of 13 in a 2875m Enghien Class D and, with 4 pads fitted, is unlikely to generate much interest
12. IQUEM D’AMER – Sprang a 19/1 surprise when successful in a 2650m Class D here late-September. Franck Nivard at the helm this time and should again finish close
13. INSTANT D’HAUFOR – 10th of 14, behind IDEFIX DU MANS (14), in a 2775m Class E at Les Sables-d’Olonne on 21 October. Has 2 races under his belt and, if focused, can trot his way onto the podium
14. IDEFIX DU MANS – 8th of 14, when preparing for this, in a 2775m Class E at Les Sables-d’Olonne on 21 October. Nevertheless showed his form that day and the new configuration can make all the difference. Chance
15. HALL BLACK MESS – Got back down to business a fortnight ago, winning a 2700m Graignes Class F with consummate ease. Enjoys a good entry and Thomas Chalon will be out to capitalise
16. ICARE DU LEARD – Starts for first time since finishing 8th of 10 in a 2700m Vincennes monté Class B last April. Here for reasons of conditioning and poses no danger
Summary: Rejuvenated since returning to racing barefoot, ILMAT DES KECHES (10) boasts a good Laval record and the hat-trick appears to be well within his grasp. He will nevertheless encounter resistance from the eclectic IDEFIX DU MANS (14) who races with 4 pads for the first time, and INSTANT D’HAUFOR (13) who is shod to preference following a pair of conditioners. Seldom disappointing when focused, HAMIGO (9) has no Laval references and returns from a rest, but has never disappointed in the day’s configuration and must be respected.

1. GAUDEPSOU – 10th of 15 in a 2575m Agen Class D last week. Has looked very ordinary this season and is not about to cause an upset
2. GREAT TIGRESS – 10th of 13, on return to competition, in a 2650m Cordemais Class D on 6 October. Here for reasons of conditioning and can be ruled out
3. FOGO PICO – 7th of 11 to GAZELLE DE VAL (7) in a 2175m Vincennes monté Class D early-September. Shoes on and no threat
4. JASON – Did not enjoy the best of fortune when 10th of 15 in a 2700m Vincennes Class B on 29 September. Has nothing to prove at this level and the front-line start will only work to his advantage
5. HASUR DAIRPET – Failed to confirm good Cabourg run when 8th of 14 in a Class D over course and distance late-September. Unlikely to shake things up but will have his supporters
6. JEWELCANDLE FAC – Fine dual-discipline trotter that finished 11th of 14, on comeback, in a 2750m Class B at Les Sables 11 days ago. Is still in conditioning mode though and best to keep one’s powder dry
7. GAZELLE DE VAL – Last but one in a 2775m Class D at Les Sables 11 days ago. Known more for her monté exploits but is no slouch in the harness code and could get a look-in
8. GYS – Pleasant 4th of 10 finishers in a 2725m Graignes Class C, on return from a spell, on 13 October. Sports front pads this time but is unlikely to ruffle many feathers
9. HACKER LOVER – Classy campaigner making first appearance since winning a 2700m Vincennes Class D last February. Enjoys good entry on first row, sports 4 pads for re-entry, and is not incapable of getting in on the action
10. CASH BANK BIGI – 2nd of 8, at 49/1, in a 2950m Vichy Gr.2 early-July. Is fresh and barefoot, and will have a lot to contribute if Benjamin Rochard keeps her trotting
11. HANNIBAL TUILERIE – Quality trotter that won a 2850m Vincennes Class B mid-September. Stays shod for the occasion however and others preferred
12. INO DU LUPIN – Remarkable trotter that would have won a 2875m Gr.3 at Meslay-du-Maine a month ago had he not faulted in the final strides, and Antoine Wiels is not about to let the same thing happen twice
13. BORDEAUX S. – Sanctioned early in a 2875m Meslay-du-Maine Gr.3 on 2 October. Has never disappointed at Laval though and will be competitive for a place in the mix
14. IBIKI DE HOUELLE – Failed to live up to expectations when 5th of 16 in a 2775m Craon Gr.3 on 2 September. Has had time to recalibrate but shoes on this time and best to wait
15. GENDREEN – Won a Meslay-du-Maine Gr.3 before running 2nd of 12 in a 2550m Beaumont Class A on 13 October. Alexandre Abrivard in the bike this time and is unlikely to be far off the mark
16. GRACE DU DIGEON – Ran 2nd in a Cherbourg Gr.3 before coming 3rd of 9 in a 2850m Vincennes monté Gr.3 3 weeks ago, and in similar form, should prove main threat to INO DU LUPIN (12)
Summary: With a strike-rate to envy and winner of his only start at the venue, INO DU LUPIN (12) has 2 races under his belt, and provided he stays trotting, the race is his for the taking. Leading the opposition, GRACE DU DIGEON (16) returns to the harness code in excellent shape, while the complicated CASH BANK BIGI (10) drops in category after producing a fine Vichy performance before the spell. Reconfigured for his Laval debut, JASON (4) is 25m better off and has the capacity to do well here.

1. JENY DES MALBERAUX – Out of the picture in last 2, latterly 7th of 9 in a 2750m Angouleme Class E on 6 October, and has no possible chance
2. JOSY EXPRESS – Won at Enghien before finishing 9th of 12 in a 3000m Nantes Class E late-September. Has had time to get her house in order, has also won at the venue, but others still easier to back
3. JIGSAW D’AMOUR – Sanctioned on re-entry in a 2775m Class E at Les Sables on 21 October. Not short of ability but stays shod for the occasion and others preferred
4. JUST PRINCESS – Sanctioned on return to competition in a 2775m Class E at Les Sables 11 days ago. Starts in front, excels when barefoot, and makes Laval debut with a good hand to play
5. JASMIN DAIRPET – Honest type that ran 4th of 12, despite some bad fortune, in a 3000m Nantes Class E late-September. Jean-Philippe Monclin in the wagon this time and, from the front line, can pick up a cheque
6. JOYEUSE ENTREE – Won 3 on the trot right-handed before being pulled-up in a 2875m Enghien Class D early last month. Has never delivered here and represents a minor place chance at best
7. JYTRACE DE HOUELLE – 10th of 12 in a 2775m Class E at Les Sables on 21 October, in first start for 8 months. Shoes on again and will have nothing to contribute
8. JALNA GIRL – Last of 12 on return from her break in a 2775m Class E at Les Sables on 21 October. Has ample ability and is nicely-engaged but is unlikely to shake things up
9. JASMIN DU VALLON – Fast-finishing runner-up to JAPPELOUP TURGOT (16) in a 2700m Vincennes Class B mid-October. Is new to the venue but still looks a serious proposition
10. JEUNE AMI – Oddly out of sorts when sanctioned in a 2700m Vincennes Class B mid-October. Is plainly in excellent shape and despite the modified shoeing, still looks a player
11. JADE D’AMOUR – 8th of 12, on first start back, in a 2700m Vincennes Class B a fortnight ago. Is still being conditioned though and best to hold off
12. JIBI DU FRUITIER – Placed twice at Vincennes before coming 4th of 12, a place behind JEUNE AMI (10), in a 2875m Enghien Class B on 30 September. Stays shod on this occasion though and can be passed over
13. JASMIN PRECIEUX – 7th of 12, behind JEUNE AMI (10), in a 2875m Enghien Class B late-September. Has bags of ability though, sports a revised formula, and should not be underestimated
14. JUS DE FRUIT – Has not ben seen out since coming 4th of 8 finishers in a 3000m Vincennes monté Gr.1 late-June. Here for reasons of conditioning and can be ignored
15. JEWEL DE BANVILLE – Showed his form despite being sanctioned on comeback in a 2875m Enghien Class B late-September. Comes here fresh, has raced and placed at the venue, and with application can open his autumn account
16. JAPPELOUP TURGOT – Made it 2 straight wins when successful in a 2700m Vincennes Class B mid-October. Enjoys an excellent entry and will have a claim on the hat-trick
Summary: Terrifically-entered at the limit of earnings, JAPPELOUP TURGOT (16) may have something of a chequered history at Laval but he has turned a corner lately and will take all the beating. That being said, JASMIN DU VALLON (9) has finished runner-up to him twice at Vincennes recently and once again looks the principal threat. The tricky but talented JEWEL DE BANVILLE (15) was sanctioned on his re-entry just over a month ago, but is shod to preference and has had time to recalibrate. Clearly in form but out of sorts last time here, JEUNE AMI (10) reverts to a previous configuration and will be no easy touch if Alexandre Abrivard can keep him focused.

C6 – PRIX ANNICK ET GEORGES DREUX – 2850m (a2m) – Class A Race – Mounted – EUR € 53,000 |
1. KERRY LOVE – 10th of 13 when preparing for this in a 2800m Chartres harness Class B a fortnight ago. Is hard to knock when barefoot and focused though and has a 25m head-start on JE REVE DU BOIS (5)
2. JET MESLOIS – Consistent trotter that ran 4th of 7 behind JIMAKO VERDERIE (3) in a 2700m Vincennes Class C mid-October. Shoes on for Laval debut and others preferred
3. JIMAKO VERDERIE – Surprising 3rd of 7, on return from his layoff, in a 2700m Vincennes Class C mid-October. Faces a much stiffer test this time and chances slim
4. JOKER DE FROULAY – Highly-consistent type that finished a good 2nd to JE REVE DU BOIS (5) in a 2700m Vincennes Class B on 4 October. Knows the track well and from the front row can make a big impact
5. JE REVE DU BOIS – Impressed under harness in September before winning a 2700m Vincennes Class B on 4 October. Similarly-shod and looks the one to beat
6. ELIXIR – Sanctioned, when unsupported, in a 2875m Enghien Class D 2 weeks ago and has no place in this field
7. HALFA – Won at Vincennes on 13 September before coming 4th of 9 in a 2175m Class B at the same venue a month ago. Sports pads this time and but still looks good enough to trot her way onto the podium
8. IN LOVE DU CHOQUEL – Quality individual that was sanctioned on re-entry 3 weeks ago in a 2850m Vincennes Gr.3. Has nothing to prove at this level and, even from the 3rd row, will be no soft touch
9. GALET STED – Returns to the ridden code after coming 7th of 15 in a 3500m Craon Class B on 23 September and looks out of his depth
10. EDITION GEMA – Pleasant 5th of 9 behind JOKER DE FROULAY (4) in a 2600m Cherbourg Class A on 25 September. Unraced since but has been handed a 50m handicap and a minor place prospect at best
Summary: A good race in prospect here, with a number in contention, and a slim preference must go to recent Vincennes winner, JE REVE DU BOIS (5) who boasts excellent monté credentials. Clearly close to his race, JOKER DE FROULAY (4) ran 2nd to him early last month and, starting in front, represents a decent place chance, but he may first have to defer to KERRY LOVE (1) who has group form when barefoot, and the reconfigured HALFA (7) whose recent performances bode well for her prospects.

C7 – GRAND PRIX ANDRE DE LA VAISSIERE – 2850m (a2m) – Class B Race – Harness – EUR € 30,000 |
1. KILLER DE CAHOT – Sprang a 69/1 surprise when 2nd of 14 in a 2800m Rambouillet Class B early last month. Change of shoeing for Laval debut and will not be going home empty-handed if he takes to the new profile
2. KAPELLA – Made no impression when sanctioned in a 2775m Craon Class D on 23 September. Is plainly better than that, pleased on lone start in the day’s configuration, and must be taken seriously
3. KIKI AND CO – Here for a change of scenery after winning a 2700m Vincennes monté Class D on 17 September, and will have nothing to contribute
4. KING TEJY – 8th of 10 in a 2700m Vincennes Class C late-September. Is proven here but races shod for the occasion and cannot be considered a priority
5. KARINA STEED – Has not been seen out since finishing 6th of 7 in a 2775m Class C at Les Sables-d’Olonne in early-August. Shoes on and no threat
6. KALEO DU BELLAY – Showed marked improvement when 3rd of 14 in a 2850m Vincennes Class D 10 days ago. Alain Chavatte could not have asked for a better entry and will be expected to give KARMA POWER (8) a run for his money
7. KATIM DU GOUTIER – Sanctioned in last 2, latterly a 2750m Class B at Les Sables-d’Olonne on 21 October. Has nothing to prove in this category and will be no shrinking violet if he deigns to keep his action together
8. KARMA POWER – Beaten just once [2nd] in 6 barefoot starts, most recently demolishing a 2700m Vincennes Class C mid-October. Has shown a liking for Laval conditions and can wrap this up
9. KETTY ANGOT – Back under harness after faulting in a 2175m Vincennes Class C on 8 October. Sports front pads for first time in a year and should not be entirely written off
10. KOMERE DE CORDAY – Made it 4 straight victories when successful in a 2700m Vincennes Class C 2 weeks ago. Races shod this time but still has the wherewithal to finish in the mix
11. KAKO GASCOGNE – Sanctioned in a 2100m Vincennes Class C a week ago. Quality element in both disciplines but shoes back on and others easier to back
12. KATINKA AIMEF – Quality filly starting for first time since being sanctioned in a 2850m Vincennes monté Gr.1 late-June. Is plainly being conditioned and can be ruled out
13. KRAFEN – Has 2 races in him since the break, latterly 10th of 15 in a 2750m Class B at Les Sables on 21 September. Sports pads this time and can figure more prominently
14. KONDOR – Takes first competitive steps after finishing last of 8 in a 2700m Vincennes Gr.2 late-May. Will be eased back in and has other priorities
15. KANTO AVIS – Makes first appearance since finishing 10th of 12 in a 2850m Vincennes Gr.1 mid-September. On 3rd row and with shoes on will have nothing to offer
16. KYRIELLE – Unraced since coming 6th of 10 in a 2700m Vincennes Gr.2 early-June. Shoes on but starts on 3rd line and will need the run
Summary: Remarkably performant when barefoot, KARMA POWER (8) made short work of a Vincennes Class C 2.5 weeks ago and, winner of his only Laval start, once again looks the pick of the field. Course-and-distance winner during the summer, and ideally-entered in front, KALEO DU BELLAY (6) has started to come good again and is expected to confirm his recent Vincennes performance. Also benefiting from a front-row start, KAPELLA (2) sports pads for her return to a track she appreciates and can start to set the record straight. 25m worse off, and sanctioned in his last two, KATIM DU GOUTIER (7) gets on well with Franck Nivard and reverts to a proven formula.

1. KELLE PONT VAUTIER – Sanctioned in all 3 last month before finishing 7th of 11 in a 2700m Graignes Class F a fortnight ago, and is unlikely to cause an upset any time soon
2. KALIAKIE PHEDO – Pleases for the most part when focused, most recently 5th in Maure-de-Bretagne race of reference. Races shod as she was at Segré and can expect to find the going tough
3. KALLISTE CODIE – Sanctioned in a 2600m Class F at Blain-Bouvron-Le Gâvre on 22 September. Has freshness on her side, and sports a revised configuration, but no more than a minor place chance
4. KLASSICAL WAY ACE – In the frame in last 2, most recently 3rd of 9 in a 2400m Nort-sur-Erdre Class F 2 months ago, but in this company will quite simply have too much to do
5. KOUMBA DE LA NADE – Out of the picture in last 2, latterly 12th of 14 in Maure race of reference, and can be confidently passed over
6. KARA DE LOIRON – Unraced since winning a 2700m Graignes monté Class F on 10 August and has nothing going for her here
7. KASSIOPEE NANIE – A complete write-off all year, lastly sanctioned in a 2750m monté Class E at La Capelle late-July, and can be disregarded
8. KELL MISS DE CAHOT – Unexceptional filly that finished last but one in Maure-de-Bretagne race of reference and already looks an also-ran
9. KARINA JOSSELYN – Considerably better than recent numbers would suggest, latterly 8th behind KOETANE D’AVRIL (12) in a 2850m Maure Class E 12 days ago. Has good references when shod and should have the measure of most
10. KALIE TEJY – Was on a fine run of provincial form before faulting in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class E late-September. Takes on better this time, and races with shoes on, but can still bounce back and get in on the action
11. KALIE GEMA – Hardy element making first start since running 3rd of 9 in a 2750m Cabourg Class E late-July. Shoes on and best to hold off
12. KOETANE D’AVRIL – Encouraging 4th of 14 in a 2850m Maure Class E 12 days ago. Shoes back on though and, while not a priority, can still make her presence felt
13. KITA MESLOISE – 5th of 10 in a 2750m Class E at La Capelle on 6 October. Appears to have put her complications behind her and the engagement of Benjamin Rochard will only work to her advantage. First 5
14. KOREA – Makes first appearance since finishing last of 11 in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class E early-August. Is clearly in competition mode and Mathieu Mottier will be eager to restore his filly’s morale. Claim
15. KARLESS DANICA – Steps marginally up in category after winning a 2500m Class F at Bihorel-lès-Rouen on 20 October. Alexandre Abrivard in the bike this time and could well repeat
16. KATTEGAT CITY – 8th of 10 in a 2275m Nantes Class E last Sunday. Benefits from a good entry, has been entrusted to a leading driver, and significant improvement anticipated. Place prospect
Summary: Sent for some R&R after a pair of summer blips, the capable KOREA (14) sports front pads for her return run and, prepared for this, can return to successful ways. KARINA JOSSELYN (9) has not been firing on all cylinders recently but is better than most here and with shoes back on can start to redeem herself. Nicely-engaged at the limit of earnings, KARLESS DANICA (15) recently won at Bihorel-lès-Rouen and races unshod-behind this time, while KATTEGAT CITY (16) has been entrusted to Matthieu Abrivard.

C9 – PRIX GEORGES PORCHER – 2850m (a2m) – Class G Amateur Drivers Race – Harness – EUR € 6,000 |
1. HARRY ATOUT – Produced a pair of good efforts at Les Andelys before faulting in a 2700m Segre Class F on 6 October. Gets on well with Hervé Jouault and, if applied, has a decent chance of fighting out the finish
2. HECATE DU DOLLAR – Came 3rd in a Rambouillet amateur event before running 8th of 11 in a 2750m Class E at Le Pertre last Saturday. Seldom disappoints at this level when focused and will be worth retaining as an interesting outsider
3. ISIS DU CORTA – Has not been seen out since faulting in a 3100m Chinon Class H mid-August. Has references in the amateur division but still looks out of her depth
4. FENOMENON – 10th of 12 behind HAMILTON DU LUPIN (16) in a 3000m Nantes amateurs Class G 3.5 weeks ago. Out of sorts since the spring and must get his act together
5. INES DU MARLOU – Takes first steps in amateur category after finishing 5th of 14 in a 3275m Saumur Class E on 20 October. On front row but others still preferred
6. IPANO STAR – Useful sort making first appearance since September 2023. Shoes on and will be eased gently back into competition
7. FIRE OF CARLESS – Has references in the amateur division but out of the picture lately and others easier to back
8. HALDO – 3rd in the professional ranks before finishing 8th of 14 in a 2850m Vincennes amateurs Class G on 1 October. Not easy to gauge but, if focused, can play a part
9. IRWIN STAR – 4th of 14, on amateur debut, in a 2850m Vincennes Class G on 1 October. Benefits from a front-row break and can play a leading role
10. FREGATE HAUFOR – Twice 4th before finishing 7th of 13 in a 2775m amateurs Class G at Les Sables on 20 September. Incurs the penalty but has won twice in the amateur category here and must not be overlooked
11. HISTOIRE DE LIERRE – Failed to deliver when 7th to HAMILTON DU LUPIN (16) in a 3000m Nantes amateurs Class G 3.5 weeks ago. Imposed 3 months ago, at this level, for her driver and even from back line looks a player
12. HALAFOLY ROBSEN – Capable in this category but has not been seen out since running 14th of 15 in an amateurs Class F here last June, and will need the run
13. HAVE A LOVE – Returns to the amateur ranks after finishing last of 12 in a 2150m Enghien claimer a fortnight ago. On second line, shod, and chances limited
14. IMPERATRICE HEDEN – Ran 3rd in the professional ranks here before coning 2nd of 10 in a 2700m Vincennes Class E on 4 October. Clearly back at his best and, despite the handicap, still looks a serious proposition
15. GRACE DE MAI – Disappointing for some time, latterly 9th of 11 in a 2850m Class F at Nuillé-sur-Vicoin on 13 October, and has no realistic chance
16. HAMILTON DU LUPIN – Made no bones about winning a 3000m Nantes amateurs Class G on 7 October. Trainer could not have wished for better conditions and, with the experienced Poirier back in the bike, can win this
Summary: Well-engaged and winner here in the professional ranks before confirming in the amateur division at Nantes next time, HAMILTON DU LUPIN (16) will be reined by Michel Poirier again and is in with a realistic shout of pulling off the 3-timer. He will nevertheless feel the heat from IMPERATRICE HEDEN (14) who has done nothing but improve over recent weeks, and the ideally-entered, and reconfigured, IRWIN STAR (9) who put on a fine show at Vincennes a month back. HISTOIRE DE LIERRE (11) disappointed behind the favourite at Nantes last time but she has already won for her driver this term.

Summary: VICTORIA SQUARE (7) has a couple of good runs of late, she was second in September at Compiegne and then ran well to be fourth in a claimer at Chantilly on her latest run. She was a decent fifth two starts ago at Dieppe when not beaten far in a maiden. A few winners have evolved from that event. HER MAJESTY (7) has only had the two starts and has shown she has ability. 4. LOUISA BANBOU – Confirmed the promise of her debut win over LADIVA SMART (1) by following up at Le Lion d’Angers over 2400m on 9 June. Absent since but should play a leading role
5. LOUBA – Consistent filly with solid form references/credentials at Group level, including back-to-back seconds in 2400m Group III races and a last-start 3rd in a 2500m Group II at Saint-Cloud on 14 October. Keep safe

2. RASHFORD – Consistent colt with undeniable means and rock-solid form references/credentials at this level and in Group races. Finished an encouraging 3rd over 3000m at Fontainebleau on 8 October – beware!
3. IN FRONT – Stayed on encouragingly from last to finish 6th over 2300m at Le Mans on 16 October on his return from a lengthy layoff (almost 2 years). Would have benefitted from that comeback run, keep safe
4. KLIFF BERE – Bounced back from an unlucky 14th in the 2400m Quinté+ of 1 September at ParisLongchamp with a last-start 2300m victory at Le Mans on 16 October. Ought to remain competitive for race honours

9. MOOR MALPIC – Lightly raced filly with sound form references, albeit at a lower level. Failed (finished 8th) in a Listed race in August but reassured (4th) in a 2100m Saint-Cloud handicap on 13 September – dark horse
Summary: André Fabre’s first Nantes starter of the year GALASHIELS (1) was unlucky on his return at Saint-Cloud and could make amends by winning on his first visit to this track. Progressive KLIFF BERE (4) spearheads the opposition with veteran IN FRONT (3), who made a very encouraging comeback lately.
