French Selections Wednesday 6th

R1 NANTES [L-H]
C1 – PRIX ONIRIS – 3000m (a2m) – Class F Amateur Riders Race – Mounted – EUR € 19,000

1. JAVA D’ALEXIANE – Sanctioned in a 3250m Saumur Class F 2.5 weeks ago, and in current form will have nothing to offer

2. JIKAO – Backs up after finishing 8th of 13 in a 2700m Graignes Class F last Saturday. Has done nothing of note in either code for some time and can be ruled out

3. JOBI SAINT JO – Sanctioned in a 2750m Ecommoy harness Class F on 22 September. Has demonstrated little talent for the discipline and has no possible chance

4. JEWEL OF SEBHA – 4th of 10 in a 2700m Segré harness Class F a month back. Just 2nd start in the code and is not about to cause an upset

5. JAMBA DE GLADJESS – Flattering 5th of 6 in a 2700m Graignes Class F 3.5 weeks ago. Shoes back on and already looks out of her depth

6. JARLHEY DU RIB – Makes first appearance since being pulled-up in a 2500m Bihorel-lès-Rouen harness Class F 2 months ago. Has placed in 1 of 2 under the saddle but cannot be considered any more than a minor place prospect

7. JELLINO SPRINT – Unraced since running 4th of 12 in a 2450m Caen Class E mid-June. Takes a dip in category and can expect a significant share of support. Claim

8. JOKER VANCEEN – Sanctioned in a 2775m harness Class F at Les Sables on 20 September. Yet to show much aptitude for the discipline and others easier to back

9. JIOSKA LUDOISE – 6th of 9 in a 2750m Le Pertre harness Class F on 26 October. Has never shown any liking for Nantes and, with 4 pads fitted, is unlikely to shake things up

10. JORDINIO – Unraced since being sanctioned in a 2200m Agon Class F early-August. Hind pads off though and, on good behaviour, can get a look-in

11. JOY DE LA GIRO – 8th of 11 in a 2850m Class F at Nuillé-sur-Vicoin mid-October. Has been out of sorts for some time and even though well-placed in front, still has too much to do

12. JACKPOT DU WALLON – Won at Beaupréau before repeating in a 2850m Parilly Class F early-September. 4 shoes off this time and must be taken seriously

13. JACKPOT MAN GLORIA – 5th of 7, behind JACANA DE BLARY (15), in a 2850m Laval Class E a month ago. Sanctioned on lone start at the venue but it would be foolhardy to ignore his chances

14. JASMINE DANCER – Sanctioned in a harness Class F over course and distance on 7 October. Sports pads for return to the discipline and should not be ignored

15. JACANA DE BLARY – Drops in category after finishing 7th of 11 in a 2700m Vincennes Class E a fortnight ago, and will be dangerous if she can replicate her Laval performance

16. JAZZMAN IDEF – Has won 5 of 11 under the saddle but below par in last 2, latterly sanctioned in a 2775m Class E at Les Sables 2 months ago and, barefoot or not, needs to get his house in order

17. JOYAU DE SOYORA – Showed his form despite being sanctioned in a 2700m Vincennes Class E a fortnight ago. Benefits from a good entry and, with application, should not be too far off the mark

18. JABIN DES TOURS – 4th of 9 finishers in a 2750m Cabourg Class E 3 weeks ago. Is clearly in shape though and Marius Delorme will be eager to capitalise

Summary: JELLINO SPRINT (7) may not have been seen out since June but is competitively-shod for his return to competition and, from the front line, can get straight down to business. He will be opposed by the useful JACANA DE BLARY (15) who returns to racing barefoot, and the nicely-engaged and in-form JABIN DES TOURS (18) who reverts to a previous configuration. Exceptional under the saddle this year, JACKPOT DU WALLON (12) goes barefoot for his hat-trick bid.

SELECTIONS
JELLINO SPRINT (7) – JACANA DE BLARY (15) – JABIN DES TOURS (18) – JACKPOT DU WALLON (12)
C2 – GRAND NATIONAL DU TROT – 3000m (a2m) – Gr3 Race – Harness – EUR € 90,000

1. GINKO DU ROUSSOIR – Unseen since finishing 11th of 13 in a 2875m Argentan Class D mid-July. Has been off the boil all year and can be confidently written off

2. HOLD UP DU DIGEON – 5th in Cherbourg edition before finishing an unexceptional 8th of 11, behind GINO VIVA (8), in a 2625m Saint-Galmier Gr.3 3 weeks ago. Barefoot this time but others still easier to back

3. ELIXIR DE CRENNES – 5th of 15 in a 2700m Vincennes Class C late last month. Is plainly in excellent form but in this company, looks more a minor place prospect

4. HARRY DE SASSY – Won a brace before coming 3rd of 12 to ELIXIR DE CRENNES (3) in a 2700m Segre Class D a month ago. Is a tough nut to crack in the day’s configuration and can make his Nantes debut a winning one

5. HORATIUS D’ELA – Failed to confirm good Cherbourg performance when sanctioned in a 2850m Vincennes Class C on 11 October. Eric Raffin in the wagon this time and can play a leading role if he keeps his charge trotting

6. FAREDGIO MENUET – Well-regarded campaigner making first appearance since running 4th of 14 in a 3250m Lyon-La Soie Gr.3 last April. Shoes on and no danger

7. GIMS DU PLESSIS – Sent for a break after winning a 2100m Vincennes Class C late-June. Has not been seen out since and with shoes on will have nothing to contribute

8. GINO VIVA – Courageous 4th of 11 in a 2635m Saint-Galmier Gr.3 mid-October. Matthieu Abrivard at the helm this time and has every chance of making the frame

9. GALA DE CRENNES – Reassuring 2nd of 12 in a 2750m Class D at La Capelle on 23 September. Has freshness on his side and, breaking in front, will have his supporters

10. GOOD GIRL MARCEAUX – 2nd of 9 in a 2175m Vincennes monté Class B early-October. Shod and here for a change of scenery

11. GALA D’URFIST – Has not raced since coming 3rd of 11 in a 2700m Vincennes monté Class B on13 September. Here for conditioning reasons and can be ignored

12. IGREC DE CELLAND – Sanctioned at Le Mans before finishing 12th of 13 behind HORATIUS D’ELA (5) in a 2600m Cherbourg Gr.3 late-September. Should not be too hastily-judged though and David Thomain maintaining faith speaks volumes

13. HARLEY GEMA – Would have finished closer than 4th of 11 in a 2850m Vincennes Class B on 14 September had she been afforded a run. Benjamin Rochard reining this time and even from 2nd row, can make a big impact

14. J’AIME LE FOOT – 9th of 12 in a 2875m Meslay Gr.3 on 2 October. Has bags of ability but is here for reasons of conditioning and can be ruled out

15. HIDALGO DES NOES – Surprise 6th of 16 in a 2875m Argentan Class A last Sunday. Has decent GNT references though and is unlikely to be far from the action

16. IDEAL LIGNERIES – High-class campaigner making first start since finishing 10th of 11 in a 2700m Vincennes Gr.3 last March. Barefoot for re-entry but is going to need the run

Summary: Known more for his exploits on turf, the on-form HARRY DE SASSY (4) returns to a hard surface in cracking condition and, reconfigured for the occasion, can make the most of his front row start and impose. 4th in the Cherbourg addition before faulting in Paris, HORATIUS D’ELA (5) gets an Eric Raffin drive this time and looks a top-tier contender. Stablemate HARLEY GEMA (13) was very unlucky at Vincennes in September, but will have freshness on her side and being reunited with Benjamin Rochard will do her chances no disservice. Consistently in the thick of things, GINO VIVA (8) breaks in front and, in similar form, should prove particularly competitive.

SELECTIONS
HARRY DE SASSY (4) – HORATIUS D’ELA (5) – HARLEY GEMA (13) – GINO VIVA (8)
C3 – PRIX MG STORE NANTES – 3000m (a2m) – Class F Amateur Drivers Race – Harness – EUR € 8,000

1. HOLY D’AIMTE – Oddly out of sorts in a 2725m Pornichet Class F, coming last of 12, behind FIFTY WINNER (12), in a 2725m Pornichet amateurs Class F last week. Races shod this time but in current shape should not be written off

2. FOREVER YOUNG – 10th of 12 in Pornichet race of reference. Is confirmed in the amateur division but others easier to recommend

3. IRONIE DE CHENU – Left a good impression at Challans before being sanctioned in a 2775m Class E at Les Sables-d’Olonne on 21 October. Cyril Baty reining this time and, from front row, will have her chances

4. HAPPY DU CANTER – Went into her spell on a high note but only 10th of 13, behind HEMILIO PIERJI (14), on comeback last Friday, in a 2725m Lisieux amateurs Class F. Races shod this time and others preferred

5. GIN FIZZ PAULO – Surprise winner at Cordemais but unsurprisingly unplaced next time, coming 9th of 12, behind FIFTY WINNER (12), in a 2725m Pornichet amateurs Class F last week. Not a priority, but still worth keeping an eye on

6. ISMIR DE L’ORMERIE – Takes maiden amateur steps after coming 4th of 14 finishers, at 188/1, in a 2775m Class E at Les Sables on 21 October. Enjoys an excellent entry here and looks main danger to IQUITO PLANCHETTE (16)

7. HALAFOLY ROBSEN – 7th of 13, on re-entry, in a 2850m Laval amateurs Class G last Friday, but a repeats seems most improbable

8. IOUP LA BOUM – Ran 2nd at Chartres before finishing last but one in a 2875m Enghien Class D 10 days ago. Back at a more reasonable level and, even from 2nd line, looks a respectable minor place chance

9. GRAND VENT RUSH – 6th of 9 behind HEMILIO PIERJI (14) in a 2850m Vincennes Class F early last month. Raced better that day than the result suggests and is not incapable of making first 5

10. INES DE LA ROUVRE – Makes amateur debut after coming 3rd of 8 finishers in a 2850m Laval Class D a month back. Shoes on though and best to hold off

11. ICE TEA – Last but one in a 2650m Alencon Class F a month ago. Stays shod for the occasion and can be passed over

12. FIFTY WINNER – Failed to confirm Maure-de-Bretagne victory when 7th of 12 in a 2725m Pornichet amateurs Class F last week. Gets Alain Sinenberg in the wagon this time and will be expected to redeem himself. First 3

13. HIPSTER DE CAHOT – Handy in this category but disappointing lately, most recently last of 13 in a 3125m Angers Class E 2.5 weeks ago, and needs to raise his game

14. HEMILIO PIERJI – Back at the top of his game following a lean summer, most recently 2nd of 13 in a 2725m Lisieux amateurs Class F last Friday. Forced to start on 3rd row but is in sufficiently good form to give this a good go

15. FARCEUSE DU PRE – 7th of 13 behind HEMILIO PIERJI (14) last Friday, in a 2725m Lisieux amateurs Class F. Has done nothing noteworthy for over two years and will have nothing to contribute

16. IQUITO PLANCHETTE – Easily secured the hat-trick when victorious in a 2150m Enghien Class E 3 weeks ago. Faces a stiff test this time but has won 8 of last 9 and is eminently up to the task

Summary: A veritable metronome in the amateur category, IQUITO PLANCHETTE (16) makes his Nantes debut on a 4-timer and even with a 50m handicap can pull it off. ISMIR DE L’ORMERIE (6) takes a drop in class after surprising at Les Sables-d’Olonne recently and the front-row start will only enhance his prospects. Sanctioned that day when being prepped for this, IRONIE DE CHENU (3) has never disappointed when unshod-behind and looks a player. Even though unexceptional at Pornichet after having imposed at Maure, FIFTY WINNER (12) returns to a track he likes and, if focused, can trot his way into the money.

SELECTIONS
IQUITO PLANCHETTE (16) – ISMIR DE L’ORMERIE (6) – IRONIE DE CHENU (3) – FIFTY WINNER (12)
C4 – PRIX PMU “LE LUCEEN” – 3000m (a2m) – Class B Race – Harness – EUR € 30,000

1. LOUSTIC D’YVEL – Sanctioned on comeback here before finishing last of 9 in a 2725m Pornichet Class F last week. Stays shod and others preferred

2. LENNON D’HERFRAIE – 9th of 12, behind LUCKY LUMALO (9) in a 2875m Enghien Class D mid-October. Is not going to be rushed and while not a priority this time, he will be soon

3. LISA DE CHANLECY – 9th of 13 in a 2150m Enghien Class D 10 days ago, on just 2nd start back. Still in conditioning mode and will have few takers

4. LASCAR D’ENFER – Put a pair of sanctions behind him to come 5th of 11 in a 2450m Caen Class C 3.5 weeks ago. Sports 4 pads for first time and should not be overlooked

5. L’ETOILE D’URSIN – Useful filly making first appearance since coming 2nd of 8 in a 2875m Enghien Class E early-August. Shod for the occasion though and not an obvious choice

6. LOVE DANCER – Has not been seen out since winning a 2875m Argentan Class D late-May. Has no left-handed references, and will need the run

7. LAPS GEDE – Last but one, on return to competition, in a 2700m Vincennes Class C a week ago. Will have progressed for the run and while unlikely to get off the mark, can still pick up a cheque

8. LOVA BLUE – Left a decent impression at Craon late-September, coming 6th of 12 finishers in a 2750m Class B. Comes here fresh, breaks on front line, and must be considered a respectable first-5 prospect

9. LUCKY LUMALO – Ran 4th here before coming 3rd of 12 in a 2875m Enghien Class D mid-October. Shoes back on but starts in front and looks 2nd-best chance here

10. LARA DE CHENU – Unseen since running 4th of 9 in a 2150m Enghien Class B mid-June. Not in competition mode and best to leave alone

11. LEMPICKA SEPT – Here for a change of scenery after trotting 7th of 8 in a 2700m Vincennes monté Class B on 18 October, and poses no danger

12. L’AMOUR SUPREME – Unbeaten in 3 until finishing last of 7, on re-entry, in a 2900m Amiens Class B 10 days ago, and will need another run

13. LOVE GLORY – Failed to confirm good September performance when 8th of 10 finishers in a 2700m Vincennes Class A on 18 October. Has bags of potential though and the change of driver may do just the job

14. L’AS DESBOIS – Showed improvement when 5th to LIGHT MY FIRE (16) in a 2775m Class B at Les Sables-d’Olonne 2.5 weeks ago. On back line again but, with form maintained, could well make the frame this time

15. LAGUNE PIYA – Serious future prospect with just one race in her since the summer break, coming 4th of 10 finishers in a 2800m Rambouillet Class B a month ago. Has been afforded time to come on and will have her supporters

16. LIGHT MY FIRE – Quality colt that easily won a 2775m Class B at Les Sables-d’Olonne 2.5 weeks ago. Is head-and-shoulders superior to the opposition and should have this wrapped up

Summary: A group-class colt with nothing to prove in this class, LIGHT MY FIRE (16) was never bothered last time out and the 25m penalty should pose no issue. Leading the opposition is the progressive LUCKY LUMALO (9) who returns to racing shod after a solid Enghien run, 2nd line starter L’AS DESBOIS (14) who was by no means disgraced behind Franck Nivard’s horse at Les Sables, and LOVE GLORY (13) who takes a dip in category with a good hand to play.

SELECTIONS
LIGHT MY FIRE (16) – LUCKY LUMALO (9) – L’AS DESBOIS (14) – LOVE GLORY (13)
C5 – PRIX DE LA REGION PAYS DE LOIRE – 3000m (a2m) – Class B Race – Harness – EUR € 35,000

1. JEWEL LUMALO – Modest individual that finished 7th of 15 in a 2350m Angers Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Hind shoes off but is properly out of his depth

2. JACOTTE DE TIZE – Made up for recent sanctions when 3rd of 14 finishers in a 2750m Class B at Les Sables-d’Olonne 2.5 weeks ago. Will not be sent out at 74/1 this time, but will not be as competitive either

3. JAZZ IN JEEP – 8th here late-September before repeating in a 2850m Class F at Nuillé-sur-Vicoin in middle of last month. Won here earlier in the year though and should not be ignored

4. JEUDI DES RACQUES – Encouraged at Laval before running 3rd of 15 in a 2700m Vincennes Class E on 8 October. In good company here but thrives at Nantes, is ideally-placed on first row, and can win this

5. JILANZA DU MOULIN – Sanctioned, on 2nd start back, in a 2750m Class B at Les Sables-d’Olonne 2.5 weeks ago. Preparing for a campaign under the saddle and can be passed over

6. JADE HERINIERE – Has 2 runs in her since the break, most recently 9th of 13 in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class F last Friday. Remains shod though and can be ignored

7. JAFLOSA AR CARAC – Made it 2 on the trot when securing a 2875m Enghien Class E on 10 October. Has had time to recover but races shod on this occasion and, although not a priority, can still play a role

8. JEROCASH DE PHYT’S – 13th of 15, when preparing for this in a 2700m Vincennes Class C last week. Has won numerous times for his driver and, with application, will be no easy touch

9. JUPITER TURGOT – Rewarded with victory a month back in a 2825m Lyon-Parilly Class B. 25m worse off again but still looks a serious proposition

10. JOKER DE CHOISEL – 6th of 7, when being conditioned for this, in a 2700m Vincennes monté Class C mid-October. Has talent to burn and is not incapable of imposing

11. JOLIE POUPEE – Serious type that ran 14th of 15 in 3000m Gr.1 Criterium des 5 Ans at Vincennes mid-October. Has nothing going for her here however and can be disregarded

12. JOCONDE SIBEY – Unraced since finishing 11th of 15 in 3000m Gr.1 Criterium des 5 Ans at Vincennes mid-October. Here for reasons of conditioning and not a contender

13. JASON – Classy trotter with references at a superior level but, from 3rd row, is unlikely to improve on recent 8th of 15 in a 2850m Laval Class A last Friday

14. JIOSCO DE PHYT’S – Takes a notable drop in class after finishing 12th of 15 in 3000m Gr.1 Criterium des 5 Ans at Vincennes mid-October. Races shod from 3rd row and has no realistic chance

15. JAZZ IN MONTREUX – Sanctioned in a 2750m Class B at Les Sables-d’Olonne 2.5 weeks ago after having won under the saddle at Cherbourg. Has other priorities and can be ruled out

16. JAKARTAS DES PRES – 4th of 14 finishers when being conditioned in a 2750m Class B at Les Sables-d’Olonne 2.5 weeks ago. Incurs 50m penalty again but still has the class to finish close

Summary: JEUDI DES RACQUES (4) may not be the most dependable of horses but he showed marked improvement at Vincennes last month and, barefoot from the front row here, can make this his own. On the second row but on-form, and winner of his only run here, JUPITER TURGOT (9) will be no shrinking violet, and neither will the excellent JOKER DE CHOISEL (10) who is barefoot for his first objective of the autumn. JOKER DE CHOISEL (10) has 2 races under his belt and, barefoot with Eric Raffin back in the sulky, will have his chances.

SELECTIONS

C6 – PRIX DU SALON DU CHEVAL D’ANGERS – 3000m (a2m) – Class D Race – Mounted – EUR € 35,000

1. HERMINE DU GUELIER – Last but one in a 2850m Laval harness Class D conditioner last Friday. On front row here but still not easy to recommend

2. HEUREUSE DE VIVRE – Unexceptional 9th of 10 in a 2175m Vincennes Class D a fortnight ago. Benefits from a 25m head-start this time and could get a look-in

3. FARCEUR ACE – Encouraged at Borely before finishing 7th of 10 in a 3000m harness Class D at Salon-de-Provence a month ago. Out of the picture in last 3 in the code and will have few takers

4. HIS DREAM DE CAHOT – Lost all chance at the start but finished a valiant 8th of 10, behind HELLO JADE RUSH (7), in a 2875m Meslay Class D early-October. Has had time to recalibrate and can play a leading role if he gets off on the right foot

5. GAGNANT GEMA – Failed to confirm his mid-October performance when last but one in a 2875m Enghien Class C 10 days later. Has merit though and should not be written off

6. FLOPY RUSH – Improved on his Cherbourg run when 3rd of 10, a place behind FASCINOSO DE LOU (12), in a 2875m Enghien Class C a month back. Victor Saussaye in the irons this time and will be afforded every chance

7. HELLO JADE RUSH – 14th of 16 when preparing for this in a 2775m harness Class D at Les Sables 2.5 weeks ago. Has been lurking for some time and should again finish close

8. FIRST GEDE – Has not been seen out since finishing last of 15 in a 3000m Class D at Rochefort-sur-Loire early-August and has no realistic chance

9. FEE DU VERNAY – 8th of 10 in a 2450m Caen Class B 2.5 weeks ago. Shoes on again and will have few friends

10. HERE I GO AGAIN – Last of 16, on first start since the break, in a 2775m harness Class D at Les Sables 2.5 weeks ago. Has form at this level, has been fitted with front pads, and looks a decent first 5 prospect

11. HOLLYWOOD DU BOIS – Serious sort in both codes, most recently 3rd of 12 in a 2875m Enghien harness Class D a month ago. Incurs the penalty again but sports a new configuration and will be expected to contest the finish

12. FASCINOSO DE LOU – Left a good impression when 5th of 10 in a 2450m Caen Class B 2.5 weeks ago. Leading driver in the bike and has every chance of keeping his perfect Nantes record intact

Summary: An excellent servant in this branch of the business, FASCINOSO DE LOU (12) enjoys an excellent entry at the limit of earnings and, winner of his only start here, is very hard to ignore. Benjamin Rochard will still be keeping a watchful eye on a reconfigured HOLLYWOOD DU BOIS (11) who is unbeaten in 2 starts with Eric Raffin, and HIS DREAM DE CAHOT (4) who should not be too hastily-condemned for his recent Meslay performance. Runner-up in five of her last 6 monté starts, HELLO JADE RUSH (7) deserves to be rewarded with victory one of these days.

C7 – PRIX RCA LA RADIO – 3000m (a2m) – Class B Race – Harness – EUR € 30,000

1. KISS ME SMART – 7th of 11 finishers in a 2875m Enghien Class E late-September. Will be fully fit by now and, even racing shod, can get in on the action

2. KLARCK DE VANDEL – 7th of 13, behind KOWEIT DE CHENU (3), in a 2200m Vincennes Class D, on 2nd start back. Barefoot for just 2nd time in his career and has a realistic chance of opening his 2024 account

3. KOWEIT DE CHENU – 5th at Enghien on comeback before running 4th of 13 in a 2200m Vincennes Class D last week. Shoes back on though and chances reduced

4. KARA DE PADD – Pleasantly-surprising 5th of 15 to KOALA DES ARCS (6) in a 2750m Class B at Les Sables-d’Olonne on 21 October. Unlikely to cause an upset but can again hold her own

5. KARAIELLA BOND – Fine winner of a 2800m Cordemais Class B a month ago. Enjoys a good entry in front and even with shoes on still looks the pick of the field

6. KOALA DES ARCS – Made up for Cordemais sanction when dominating a 2750m Class B at Les Sables-d’Olonne 2.5 weeks ago. Enjoys a good entry, is proven at Nantes, and is unlikely to disappoint

7. KWARTZ SIBEY – 13th of 15, on return to competition, to KOALA DES ARCS (6) in a 2750m Class B at Les Sables-d’Olonne on 21 October. Is going to need another run

8. KIPHYLE DESBOIS – 7th of 15 to KOALA DES ARCS (6) in a 2750m Class B at Les Sables-d’Olonne on 21 October. Races barefoot this time and even though new to the venue, she is clearly in form and can make a big splash

9. KIVALA RENARDIER – 8th of 11 finishers, when being prepared for this, in a 2100m Vincennes Class C 12 days ago. Placed on lone start for Eric Raffin and even from second row, still looks a respectable place prospect

10. KRACKMANIA – Solid in last 3, most recently 4th of 9 in a 2700m Vincennes Class B on 19 September. Shoes on this time though and others preferred

11. KENO PETTEVINIERE – Honest sort that finished 9th of 14 in a 2800m Vire Class B 10 days ago. Shoes on again and best to keep one’s powder dry

12. KARMA – Sanctioned 10 days ago, on 2nd start back, in a 2800m Vire Class B. Never easy to gauge but has the element of surprise and should not be written off

13. KANAKA DE BUSSET – 11th of 14, behind KENO PETTEVINIERE (11), in a 2800m Vire Class B 10 days ago. Shoes on again and best left alone

14. KOBAYASHI – Gr.1-placed colt with 2 runs under his belt since the layoff, latterly 5th of 11 in a 2850m Meslay Class B early last month. On back line, with shoes on, and not a player

15. KELLE BEAUTE – Complicated but talented filly that finished last of 15 in a 2700m Vincennes Gr.3 on 25 October. Is still being conditioned though and best to wait

16. KEENAN DE JOUDES – Tough colt that ran 9th in Les Sables race of reference. Has little to offer here and can be passed over

Summary: KARAIELLA BOND (5) has done nothing but improve over recent months and even though racing with shoes on this time, she starts on the first line and can finally open her Nantes account. Guillaume Martin can still expect to feel the pressure from the similarly well-positioned KLARCK DE VANDEL (2) who is proven at the venue and who races barefoot for the occasion, and a barefoot KIPHYLE DESBOIS (8) who starts on the 2nd row, but whose credentials at this level require no confirmation. KOALA DES ARCS (6) appreciates these conditions, comes off a win at Les Sables, and is suitably well-engaged to finish close.

1. IBRAHISCO – Returned to victorious ways a month ago when securing a 2650m Alencon Class F. Races shod this time but has form here and will still generate some interest

2. ISKO D’IQUAINE – 3rd here in last 2 starts, latterly a Class F over course and distance 10 days ago. Appreciates Nantes and while unlikely to impose, can still challenge for a place in the frame

3. HERMES DE L’ISAC – 7th of 14 in a 2825m Chartres Class F 10 days ago. Front pads fitted this time but still not a player

4. ICE HAUFOR – Sanctioned early in a 2875m Enghien Class D mid-October. Is clearly in excellent form and can give IGOR DU PLANTIS (10) a run for his money if Matthieu Abrivard manages to keep her trotting

5. IDEAL DU BOUILLON – Showed moderate improvement 10 days ago when 6th of 13, behind ISKO D’IQUAINE (2), in a Class F over course and distance. Is not about to shake things up but is still worth taking more seriously

6. IZZIE D’ERONVILLE – Enjoying a good run of form, most recently 3rd of 13 in a 2700m Machecoul Class F 2.5 weeks ago, but would be preferred at a lower level

7. ILVICA DE HOUELLE – 6th of 9 in a 2850m Mauquenchy monté Class F on 12 September. Has other priorities and can be ruled out

8. IDEAL DU LERRE – Out of the picture in last 4, most recently 10th in 27 October race of reference, and must first re-establish his credentials

9. IDEAL RANAIS – Sanctioned when unsupported in a Class F over track and trip 10 days ago. Is dangerous when applied though and has previously won under these conditions. First 5

10. IGOR DU PLANTIS – Blows hot and cold but has won 2 of last 4, most recently a 2800m Langon Class E late-September. Enjoys favourable conditions and can impose if Yvan Lacombe keeps him focused

11. IRINA D’ATOUT – Drops in category after faulting in a 2850m Vincennes Class C on 18 October. Sports front pads this time and will not be far from the action if William Bigeon can keep her focused on the job at hand

12. HOLLENBOURG – Not the horse he was earlier in the year, latterly last of 11 in a 2850m Vincennes Class D on 18 October, and must get his house in order

13. INSIGHT SPOKEN – 4th of 13 in a 2875m Enghien Class D 10 days ago. Has previously imposed under these conditions, but shoes back on and others easier to back

14. IQUEM D’AMER – Made it 2 on the trot when courageous winner of a 2850m Laval Class D last Friday and, if still on the boil, could well pull off the hat-trick

15. HISTORY MAJYC – Ran 2nd in a 2725m Cabourg Class E late last month before being disqualified. Respectable in 1 of 2 starts here but others preferred

16. FRENCHY BERRY – Solid as a rock of late, latterly 2nd of 12 in a 2700m Segré Class D a month ago. Benjamin Rochard reining and, considering the entry, should not be overlooked

Summary: Wonderfully-entered on the front line, IGOR DU PLANTIS (10) got back in the winners’ enclosure at Langon last time out and, if still on the boil, and focused, can double up. Nothing is ever a given though when confronted with ICE HAUFOR (4) who is as likely to win these days as lose her action. Starting on the 2nd row but enjoying a new lease on life since returning to the day’s configuration, IQUEM D’AMER (14) makes his Nantes debut with a good hand to play. ISKO D’IQUAINE (2) has been showing his form here recently and, barefoot as he was when imposing at Pornichet, is not to be underestimated.
