R1 VINCENNES [L-H]
C1 – PRIX DE LENS – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class D Race – Mounted – EUR € 46,000
- JOBOURG MESLOIS – Won at Strasbourg before running 4th of 8 in a 2200m Class E here late last month. Faces a better bunch this time however and chances limited
- MERCEDES STAR – Opened ridden account at Wolvega early-November before faulting over 2100m at the same venue next time, but is barefoot on this occasion, with Mathieu Mottier aboard, and can play an important part
- JAGUAR DE VILLETOT – Pleasantly surprising 4th of 11 in a 2175m Class E here on 11 December. Is plainly on way back up and will generate some interest
- JACK BARROW – Back in the code after coming 4th of 14 in a 2100m harness Class D here on 25 November. Did run 3rd in Gr.1 Saint-Léger des Trotteurs in 2022 though and, sporting modified shoeing, can get in on the action
- JAGUAR DE KARA – 2nd to JACARANDA (11) on monté debut before being sanctioned in a 2100m harness Class D when prepping for this earlier this month. Paul Ploquin back in the saddle and looks a major player
- NATURAL MINE – Makes ridden bow after running 3rd of 8 under harness over 1640m at Romme late last month. Westholm-trained runners in cracking form at present and must be taken seriously
- JAG ROYAL – Won 2 of last 4, latterly a harness Class E over course and distance. Gets on well with his jockey and, if form transitions, he should be in a position to challenge for the spoils
- JOCE JISCE – Lacklustre 5th of 7 finishers, a place behind JAZZY THOURJAN (10), in a Class D under these conditions 3 weeks ago, and can be confidently ruled out
- JACK SURPRISE – Last but one in a 2100m harness Class D here on 6 December. Sanctioned on lone appearance in the code, but sports modified shoeing for the occasion and should not be written off
- JAZZY THOURJAN – Flattering 4th of 7 finishers in a Class D under these conditions 3 weeks ago and is not about to create an upset
- JACARANDA – Won twice over course and distance lately, most recently a Class D with authority a month ago, and considering the entry, should be able to wrap this up
Summary: Transformed since moving yards earlier in the year, JACARANDA (11) returns on a course-and-distance hat-trick and looks eminently capable of pulling it off. JAGUAR DE KARA (5) ran 2nd to him on his monte debut that day and, reconfigured, can again get in on the action, but may first have to defer to the good JAG ROYAL (7) who is primed for a return to the discipline. Swedish visitor, NATURAL MINE (6) debuts at Vincennes, and under the saddle, but has been entrusted to Alexandre Abrivard who will be looking to capitalise on his charge’s current form.

C2 – PRIX RMC (PRIX DE FUSTIGNAC) – 2175m (a1m1/4) – Class A Race – Harness – EUR € 62,000 - LA DIVA SUPREME – Tricky but talented filly that lost her action in 12 December race of reference. Is better than most here on a good day though and, if focused, can get back in the game
- LEDA MESLOISE – Placed twice over track and trip before being sanctioned early in race of reference. Steps up in category but sports hind pads this time and will not be far off the mark if Eric Raffin assures her initial strides
- LOLITA BOURBON – 6th of 11 behind LAMIE DU MESNIL (4) in a Class B over course and distance on 13 December. Sports 4 pads this time but has been deserted by Eric Raffin and not a priority
- LAMIE DU MESNIL – 4th of 11 in a Class B over course and distance on 13 December. Has started to make progress but still represents no more than a minor place prospect
- LILI DRY – 7th of 11 behind LAMIE DU MESNIL (4) in a Class B over course and distance on 13 December and will have few friends
- LAURELINA – Ran 2nd under these conditions before coming 5th in race of reference. At this level though, may struggle to make her presence felt
- LIPANGA DE GUEZ – Last but one behind LITTLE WINGS (11) in a Class A over track and trip a month ago and can be confidently passed over
- LARA CROFT – Tenacious winner of an Argentan Class A last month before running 10th of 12 behind LARA DU GOUTIER (10) in a 2850m Gr.3 here 3 weeks ago. Is plainly better than that and can set the record straight
- LOVELY DU VALLON – Course-and-distance winner early-November before finishing an oddly-lacklustre 10th of 12 behind LITTLE WINGS (11) in a Class A over track and trip a month ago, but will be expected to bounce back and make amends
- LARA DU GOUTIER – Put in a decent effort against the colts to run 5th of 12 in a 2850m Gr.3 here 3 weeks ago. Back among her own sex this time and will be no easy touch
- LITTLE WINGS – Fine 3rd of 12 in a 2700m Class A here, on comeback, a month ago. Has been afforded time to recover and is thoroughly capable of winning this time
Summary: Just 325 Euros from elimination and impressive on her recent re-entry, LITTLE WINGS (11) will have progressed for the run and tackles this shorter trip with a decent chance of bringing home the bacon. Unplaced that day after enduring a tough trip, LOVELY DU VALLON (9) has excellent credentials to fall back on and looks the principal danger. Racing at a more reasonable level after being outrun in a Gr.3, LARA CROFT (8) has the wherewithal to finish close, as does LARA DU GOUTIER (10) who drops a rung of the category-ladder.

C3 – PRIX DE MONTBRISON – 2850m (a2m) – Class E Race – Mounted – EUR € 52,000 - HANDSOME BOY – Somewhat reassuring 4th of 12 in a 2700m Class D here on 26 November. Has no references over 2850m on the long course but has the wherewithal to finish in first 5
- HONNEUR DU CEBE – Opened his monté account at Chartres late-November before finishing 11th of 13 in a harness Class D over track and trip 9 days ago. In this company though, looks out of his depth
- HEVA BLONDE – Sports 4 pads for first time after being sanctioned in a Class D over course and distance on 10 December and others easier to back
- ISLAMORADA – Won 2 in a row here before coming 2nd of 8 in a 2175m Class D here mid-November, setting personal best time, and is arguably the only one capable of giving LUCKY GUY BOKO (6) a run for his money
- ICARE DU LEARD – Ran 3rd over 2175m before comfortably winning a Class D over course and distance 12 days ago. Moves up a level but is clearly progressing and can challenge for a place on the podium
- LUCKY GUY BOKO – Brilliant winner of a 2175m Class D on ridden bow here on 17 November. Has been a class act since moving to France and is in with a realistic shout of doubling his money
- INDIAN PACIFIC – Exceptional under harness since the summer, most recently 2nd of 14 in a Class E over course and distance. Has yet to distinguish himself in the code but in current form has every chance of beginning the process
Summary: Seldom are there so few declared for a race like this but it looks a good one all the same. LUCKY GUY BOKO (6), who has made a name for himself in the harness game, simply stormed up on his recent ridden debut and even though moving up a category, he still looks the one to beat. Mathieu Mottier will still bee keeping a keen eye on the barefoot ISLAMORADA (4) who boasts an excellent monte record at Vincennes, and INDIAN PACIFIC (7) who returns to the discipline reconfigured and in cracking form.

C4 – CRITERIUM CONTINENTAL-AMERIQUE RACES Q3 – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Gr1 Race – Harness – EUR € 240,000 - KOCTEL DU DAIN – 7th in Grand Prix de l’UET before coming 5th of 13 behind KEENAN DE JOUDES (18) in 2700m Gr.2 Prix Octave Douesnel here 2 weeks ago. Has previously beaten much of this field and can do so again
- EAST ASIA – 4th in Gr.1 Grand Prix de l’UET before dominating over 1640m in Rome on 16 November. Bjorn Goop in the bike this time and from the 2-spot can make this her own
- KEEP GOING – Finished 11th of 13 behind KEENAN DE JOUDES (18) in 2700m Gr.2 Prix Octave Douesnel here a fortnight ago. Goes barefoot this time and can make a big splash
- EXECUTIV EK – Comfortable winner over 2100m in Rome mid-November. Classy Italian colt with decent Vincennes form, has a lot going for him here and must not be underestimated
- CROWN (USA) – Beaten only by a good 3yo over 1640m at Solvalla late last month. Won Sprintermästaren (equivalent to Swedish Hambletonian) earlier in the year and from the 5-spot can set the cat among the pigeons
- NINETTA BOKO – Well-travelled filly that ran 3rd of 14 to KOKOTE (13) in 2700m Gr.2 Prix Ariste Hemard here 2 weeks ago. Takes a big step up in class and even with JMB in the bike still looks no more than a minor place prospect
- EDY GIRIFALCO GIO – Serious Italian colt that finished runner-up to EXECUTIV EK (4) over 2100m in Rome mid-November. 2nd chance for the Gocciadoro stable but appears to have too much to do
- KILMISTER – Quality Swedish visitor that could manage no better than 10th of 13 behind KEENAN DE JOUDES (18) in 2700m Gr.2 Prix Octave Douesnel here 2 weeks ago. Breaks wide and cannot be considered dangerous
- KANA DE BEYLEV – Missed the start but still ran 2nd of 14 to KOKOTE (13) in Gr.2 Prix Ariste Hemard over 2700m here a fortnight ago. Benjamin Rochard would have preferred a better draw and, even against the colts, must be respected
- KYRIELLE – 10th of 14 to KOKOTE (13) in Gr.2 Prix Ariste Hemard over 2700m here a fortnight ago and, padded this time, can be confidently passed over
- KRISTAL JOSSELYN – Off the boil since winning Gr.2 Prix Phaeton over 2100m in Rome mid-November, latterly last but one in Gr.2 Prix Octave Douesnel a fortnight ago and, barefoot or not, can be ruled out
- KATINKA DU MOUCHEL – 7th of 14 to KOKOTE (13) in Gr.2 Prix Ariste Hemard over 2700m here a fortnight ago. Appears to be some way off last winter’s form and chances appear limited
- KOKOTE – Opened her black-type account when comfortably winning 2700m Gr.2 Prix Ariste Hemard here 7 December. Pitted against the boys this time and the draw will do her no favours
- GLOBAL ETALON – Capable nordic colt that ran 6th of 12 over 3140m in Gothenburg on 13 November. Races barefoot but still has considerably more to find
- KARLITO – Gr.1-placed colt that ran 2nd of 9 in a 2850m Laval Class A mid-November. Is barefoot this time, consistently gives his best, and is unlikely to go home empty-handed
- KSAR – 8th of 13 behind KEENAN DE JOUDES (18) when preparing for this in 2700m Gr.2 Prix Octave Douesnel here 2 weeks ago. Has never disappointed when barefoot and despite a shocking draw can play an important role
- KHAL’S FELLA – Won a Gr.3 over track and trip last month before finishing 3rd of 13, a place behind KEENAN DE JOUDES (18), in 2700m Gr.2 Prix Octave Douesnel here 2 weeks ago. Poor draw but still merits attention
- KEENAN DE JOUDES – Colt with bags of talent, latterly 2nd of 13 in 2700m Gr.2 Prix Octave Douesnel here a fortnight back. Always gives his best but from 18-spot may find this a tough test
Summary: With success in this race comes a ticket to the Prix d’Amérique and EAST ASIA (2), who has won 5 of his last 6, has been handed a good draw and can expect the lion’s share of support. Critérium des 4 Ans winner, KEEP GOING (3) races barefoot after having prepped in the Gr.2 Prix Octave Douesnel a fortnight ago and the draw will only work in his favour. 5th that day, KOCTEL DU DAIN (1) has nothing to prove at this level and barefoot for the occasion will be expected to finish close. The good EXECUTIV EK (4) returns to Paris on a hat-trick and racing barefoot with Eric Raffin in the bike for the first time, may yet prove the joker in the pack.

C5 – PRIX DE TARBES – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 35,000 - KENNEDY FRANCE – Has not been seen out since running 3rd of 9 in a 2150m Enghien Class D mid-October. Is plainly in competition-mode and is not incapable of upsetting the apple-cart
- KAID MARTIN – Quality element that ran 7th of 11 in a 2700m Class D when being conditioned here on 19 November. Has a lot going for him this time and has a realistic chance of imposing
- KNOX JENILOU – 3rd of 11 in a 2700m Class E here 3 weeks ago. Has adapted well to the new profile and will be expected to contest the finish
- KRACKER PIYA – Useful sort that ran 2nd of 13 in a 2200m Class D here late-October. Has been afforded ample time to get back in costume and from the 4-spot is unlikely to disappoint
- KISS YOU PIYA – In the frame in last 2, latterly 3rd of 13 in a Class E over course and distance on 4 November. Comes here fresh, enjoys a fine draw, and considering his speed, must be regarded a contender
- KEOPS DU BUHOT – Finally got off the mark for 2024 when successful in a 2725m Graignes Class E a month back. Races first-time barefoot but still seems to be facing a tough ask
- KING SUN DRALIAM – Has done nothing but improve lately, most recently 2nd of 12 in a 2850m Class E here mid-November. Takes on better this time but enjoys a good entry and should not be far from the action
- KRYSTAL DU RUEL – Tricky sort that imposed at Caen but failed to deliver when sanctioned in a 2700m Class D here on 19 November. Sports a fresh configuration and can pick up some crumbs if he deigns to keep trotting
- KOPECK DE CHENU – Drops in category after finishing 8th of 11, a place behind KAID MARTIN (2), in a 2700m Class D here on 19 November. Just hind shoes off this time but the draw will do him no favours
- KEEPSAKE MOSSA – Put a pair of sanctions behind him to finish 6th of 10 in a 2850m Class E here 12 days ago but still has more to find
- KROSS FINGERS – Won over the inner course before finishing last but one in a 2700m Class E here last Wednesday. Trainer considers it a minor blip and backs up with a decent chance of making first 5
- KAID DEL GREEN – Easy winner of a 2400m Amiens Class E mid-November. Has never shown any liking for the main track though and others preferred
- KANGOUROU – Modest trotter that was sanctioned in a 2700m claimer here 9 days ago and has no possible chance
- KRICK DU GUESCLIN – Not without merit but sanctioned in last 3, latterly a 2700m Class E here on Wednesday, and is unlikely to shake things up
Summary: Decently-placed behind the car, proven over course and distance, KAID MARTIN (2) has 3 runs under his belt and, racing barefoot with Eric Raffin reining, can get back to winning ways. More reliable but still a handful on occasion, KNOX JENILOU (3) has taken a liking to the Vincennes profile and will have his chances. KISS YOU PIYA (5) just beat her here early last month and should again figure prominently, as should the returning KENNEDY FRANCE (1) who is barefoot for the occasion.

C6 – PRIX TENOR DE BAUNE-AMERIQUE RACES Q4 – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Gr1 Race – Harness – EUR € 240,000 - DIE HARD (ITY) – Has not been seen out since finishing 8th of 14 in a 2100m Class C here on 25 October and will have nothing to contribute
- JOUR DE FETE – Easy winner of a 2175m monté Class C here late-August. Here for reasons of conditioning and can be passed over
- WORKING CLASS HERO – Quality nordic import that has won 3 from 4 at Vincennes, latterly a 2100m Gr.3 in style here last weekend. Is proven at a superior level and looks competitive for a place in the frame
- JEWELCANDLE FAC – Useful mare that would have finished 3rd in a Gr.3 over course and distance a fortnight ago had she not faulted. Has won a Gr.2 under these conditions and although not a priority can still get a look-in
- JANGO VICI – Honest trotter that ran 3rd of 10 to JOUMBA DE GUEZ (9) in 2700m Gr.3 Prix de Chenonceaux here a month ago. 5th in Critérium des 5 Ans during the autumn and is unlikely to be far from the action
- JAKARTAS DES PRES – Ran 5th in a Toulouse Gr.3 before finishing 9th of 12 in a 2850m Gr.2 here 3 weeks ago. Shoes back on and poses no threat
- BENGAN – Produced a good effort to finish 2nd of 10 to JOUMBA DE GUEZ (9) in 2700m Gr.3 Prix de Chenonceaux here a month ago. Unlikely to repeat but can still pick up some prizemoney
- JAZZMAN DEBAILLEUL – 3rd in Prix Marcel Laurent before running 4th of 10 to JOUMBA DE GUEZ (9) in 2700m Gr.3 Prix de Chenonceaux here a month ago. Has had time to freshen up and, dynamic in the day’s configuration, must not be underestimated
- JOUMBA DE GUEZ – Non partante
- JACK TONIC – Pleasantly surprising 3rd of 6, behind JUSTIN BOLD (11), in 2850m Gr.2 Prix Doynel de Saint-Quentin 3 weeks ago. Appears to be in rude health and looks capable of spicing things up
- JUSTIN BOLD – Defied her 13/1 to run close 2nd of 6 in 2850m Gr.2 Prix Doynel de Saint-Quentin 3 weeks ago. Has solid references at the highest level and in current form is easy to like for the win
- JUNINHO DRY – Disappointing last of 6, behind JUSTIN BOLD (11), in 2850m Gr.2 Prix Doynel de Saint-Quentin 3 weeks ago. Races barefoot this time but still not an obvious choice
- JUST LOVE YOU – Serious mare that ran 10th of 15 in 2850m Gr.2 Prix du Bourbonnais here a fortnight ago. Barefoot for just 2nd time in her career and will be expected to apply the pressure on JUSTIN BOLD (11)
Summary: Second Prix d’Amérique ticket on the line this afternoon in what looks a particularly open affair following 3 high-profile defections. Barefoot this time, JUSTIN BOLD (11) put in a fine effort to run 2nd to the absent Jushua Tree in the Gr.2 Prix Doynel de Saint-Quentin late last month and a similar performance would see him prevail. He will however be pitted against Prix de Bretagne fourth, JUST LOVE YOU (13) who has already punched her ticket to the Amérique, and a barefoot JOUMBA DE GUEZ (9) who secured a pair of harness Gr.3s before running 2nd in the Gr.1 Prix Bilibili under the saddle over course and distance a week ago. Particularly fond of the main track, WORKING CLASS HERO (3) made it 2 for 2 this winter when dominating a Gr.3 here recently and steps back up in class with a good hand to play.

C7 – PRIX DE JUVIGNAC – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class F Race – Harness – EUR € 36,000 - JACALA DE FONTAINE – Pleased at Pontchateau before finishing 6th of 9 in a 2825m Cordemais Class F last Sunday and even though barefoot, will have few takers
- JAGUAR DE BELFOND – Makes first appearance since being sanctioned in a 2875m Enghien Class E on 27 October. Hind shoes off this time but will nevertheless struggle to make his mark
- JERICHO D’ORGERES – Raced better in a 2700m Class F at Le Croise-Laroche last Monday than his 6th of 12 would suggest. Is not a priority but has every chance of getting a look-in
- JOKER DE VOUEDE – Last of 12 when preparing for this in a 2500m Reims Class F a month back. Is no slouch on a good day, and races barefoot this time, but must first reaffirm
- JOYAUX DES ILES – Unexceptional trotter that was sanctioned in a 2600m Parilly Class F 3 weeks ago and has never delivered at Vincennes. Disregard
- JULIUS BERRY – Encouraged in 2 at Mauquenchy before being sanctioned in a 2850m Class E at Le Mans last Monday and will have a mountain to climb this time
- JOW PIQUENARD – Placed at Saint-Brieuc before running 7th of 14 to JADOU DU LUPIN (13) in a 3000m Chateaubriant Class F 3 weeks ago, and others easier to back
- JABIRU BOY – Had just taken the lead when sanctioned in a Class E over course and distance 3 weeks ago, but thrives with Eric Raffin who will be eager to set the record straight
- JACKSON HAUFOR – Lost his action in a Class E under these conditions 3 weeks ago. Is not devoid of ability though and will be no easy touch if David Thomain keeps him focused
- JEFF DE MONPAZ – Won 4 in a row prior to coming 3rd of 15 in a 2400m Beaumont Class F 3 weeks ago. Faces a stiffer test here but has been reconfigured for the occasion and warrants respect
- JEROMINUS TURGOT – Oddly out of sorts when 6th of 13 in a 2850m Le Mans Class E last Monday but is plainly in form and his trainer takes over in the bike. Place chance
- JUNIOR DU CHATELET – Handy sort that ran 3rd of 14 to JADOU DU LUPIN (13) in a 3000m Chateaubriant Class F 3 weeks ago. Has no Vincennes references but in current form will be good enough to pick up a cheque
- JADOU DU LUPIN – Comfortable winner of a 3000m Chateaubriant Class F on 1 December. Is new to the venue but is just 195 Euros from elimination and looks a serious proposition
Summary: Sanctioned when full of running here late last month, JABIRU BOY (8) has nonetheless won 3 times for Eric Raffin and can repeat if his charge deigns to stay in stride. Ideally-entered here and winner at Chateaubriant last time out, JADOU DU LUPIN (13) will be dangerous if focused. Similarly sanctioned in his last 2, JACKSON HAUFOR (9) has nothing to prove in this category but the result will depend on his temperament. In the frame in 3 of his last 4, JEROMINUS TURGOT (11) will be expected to make up for his Le Mans blip.

C8 – PRIX DE MORGAT – 2850m (a2m) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 49,000 - ICONE DE L’ETRE – Sanctioned in 2 after imposing at Les Sables, latterly a 2850m Class E here 2 weeks ago. Hind shoes on this time, with Yoann Lebourgeois in the bike, and will not be far off the mark if he keeps her trotting
- IDOLE STAR – 2nd of 9 in a Class E over course and distance 2 weeks ago, on first start for new trainer. Steps up in category but in current condition is easy to like
- ICE HAUFOR – 2nd of 13 in a 3125m Angers Class F a fortnight ago. Boasts an excellent record when barefoot and the front-line break will do her chances no disservice
- HIMALAYA TONIQUE – Encouraging 4th of 7 in a 2700m amateurs Class F at Le Croise-Laroche on 2 December but is firmly out of her depth this time
- IZZIE D’ERONVILLE – Terribly unlucky when 11th of 13 in a 3150m Saint-Brieuc Class E on 6 December after enduring traffic problems. Form is not in question though and from the front line can win this
- INTERACTIVE – Unexceptional 7th of 12 behind IL PLEUT BERGERE (11) in a 2700m Class E here 10 days ago and can be passed over
- HELLA DE JANA – 5th of 16 in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class G a month ago. Won only start under these conditions but is taking on too much this time
- IVA ROYALE – Returned to the winners’ circle after securing a 2750m Cabourg Class F earlier in the month. Starts in front but appears to have too much to do
- ISIA DU CHENE – Sanctioned on return to competition in a 2400m Amiens Class E a fortnight ago. Is 2 for 2 with Alexandre Abrivard and will not go down without a fight
- INES DE BEYLEV – Runner-up at Angers prior to coming 5th of 13 in a 3150m Saint-Brieuc Class E on 6 December. Is confirmed under these conditions but others still preferred

- IDOLE D’OURVILLE – Ran 6th in an elevated Class D before being sanctioned in a 2700m Class D here on Wednesday and backs up with modest aspiration
- INES QUICK – Failed to make it 4 in a row when sanctioned in a Class E over course and distance 2 weeks ago. JMB gets the nod this time and is unlikely to pass up such a good opportunity
- IDYLLE DU PERSIL – Reassuring 3rd of 9, a place behind IDOLE STAR (2), in a Class E over track and trip 2 weeks ago. Takes on a better lot on this occasion and is unlikely to spring any surprises
- ILLUSION D’AMOUR – Convincing winner of a 2100m Class D on 2 December. Eric Raffin in the sulky this time and will not go down easily
- ISIS D’HERFRAIE – 5th of 16 in a Class D over course and distance early last month. Comes here fresh, enjoys a good entry, but still no more than a minor place prospect
Summary: After having won 3 on the trot, INES QUICK (13) quickly lost her action next time but has been reconfigured and with Jean-Michel Bazire in the bike can make amends and set the record straight. IZZIE D’ERONVILLE (5) had been going good-guns before being denied a run here earlier in the month, but she enjoys a 25m head-start, goes barefoot, and will have her chances if Anthony Barrier keeps her out of trouble. ISIA DU CHENE (9) has buckets of talent and is reunited with Alexandre Abrivard who is unbeaten with her. Winner over 2100m 3 weeks ago, ILLUSION D’AMOUR (15) is barefoot this time and even from the back row looks a major player.

C9 – PRIX DE GAMBAIS – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class D Race – Mounted – EUR € 40,000 - KASPAROVA – Makes just 2nd monte start after finishing 10th of 13 in a harness Class E over course and distance earlier in the month. Is reconfigured and could pleasantly surprise with Eric Raffin in the irons
- KARRY WHITE – Won last 2 under the saddle, most recently a Class F under these conditions on 6 December. Takes on a much better lot this time though and chances appear slim
- KALIE D’URSIN – Sanctioned 8 times before finishing last of 10 in a 2850m harness Class E 12 days ago and has no realistic chance
- KRYSEIS – Authoritative winner of a Class E over track and trip on 18 November, on monte debut. Returns with morale intact and Adrien Lamy will be legitimately eyeing the double
- KRISTALE D’ERABLE – Was making up ground on the leader when 2nd of 5 finishers in a 2200m Class E here late last month. Excels in the day’s configuration and is not about to disappoint
- KISS ME JO DARLING – 4th at Reims before finishing 7th of 11 behind KACEY BELL (7) in a Class D over course and distance on 25 November, and will need to find significantly more
- KACEY BELL – Somewhat lacklustre 5th of 11 in a Class D under these conditions on 25 November. Proved in October that she is patently better than that and can finish in the frame this time
- KALINE DU RIB – 7th of 9 behind KALINA PRINCESS (12) in a Class D over course and distance 2 weeks ago despite a slow start. Has previously won at this level and is not incapable of making first 5 this time
- KISS ME DOMPIERRE – Back in the discipline after finishing last of 11 in a 2175m harness Class D here last weekend. Shoes on again but could just get a look-in
- KALLAS IN SALLAZ – Sanctioned, on return to competition, in a Class D over course and distance 2 weeks ago. Barefoot this time but others still preferred
- KAMILLE D’AUTHISE – Unremarkable 8th of 9 behind KALINA PRINCESS (12) in a Class D over course and distance 2 weeks ago. Is a far cry from being at her best and will need another run
- KALINA PRINCESS – Fine 3rd of 9 in a Class D over course and distance 2 weeks ago, first time under the saddle. Will have come on for the run and has a realistic chance of imposing her will
Summary: Perfectly-engaged at the limit of earnings, and impressive on her ridden debut here earlier in the month, KALINA PRINCESS (12) races barefoot this time and can open her account. She will however be pitted against KRYSEIS (4) who stormed up on her own monte bow here mid-November, and who will be barefoot this time. KACEY BELL (7) ran 2nd to her that day and can again play a part, but she may first have to see off KRISTALE D’ERABLE (5) who came close to securing her first objective of the winter.

C1 – PRIX DE NOEL – 1700m (a1m1/8) – ALL WEATHER – Maiden Race – Flat – EUR € 17,000
- CITYDOR – Unplaced in all 8 appearances, including consecutive recent outings on this surface – soundly beaten (10th) over 1400m in a Deauville handicap on 13 December. Hard to recommend
- WATHAB – Experienced 17-start maiden with sound references/form credentials, albeit without success. Unplaced (12th) in a 1600m PSF handicap at Pau on 5 December but shouldn’t be written off – remains capable of better
- ROYAL CADEAU – Finished last of 7 on debut in a well-composed (stronger) field at ParisLongchamp on heavy ground over 2100m in early April. Open to improvement on his reappearance so shouldn’t be underestimated
- SOBEST – Placed once (3rd on turf at La Roche-Posay over 2400m on 1 May) in 11 starts and isn’t likely to trouble the judge on the evidence of his latest performance (13th) in a 1900m PSF handicap at Deauville on 18 December
- KENPIC – Modest colt/maiden yet to find the frame in 14 appearances, the latest (8th) in a 1400m PSF handicap at Deauville on 13 December. Others preferred
- KEW BRIDGE – Placed in both starts under Antoine Subias, including a course-and-distance 3rd on debut in late March. Shouldn’t be hastily condemned for finishing unplaced (9th) over 1400m at Chantilly on 10 December – can redeem herself
- O DIRLADA – Well-beaten 12th of 15 over 1400m at Deauville on 8 November when resuming after a 7-month absence. Needs to improve
- FRIENDS DREAM – Hasn’t gone unnoticed in recent PSF appearances – finished 6th on both occasions, the latest on this course over 2100m in a handicap on 13 November. Career-low mark could spark improvement
- ALMALY – Built on the promise of a pleasing debut 5th (on 28 March) to finish an eye-catching 2nd in a course-and-distance event on 13 November. Needs only to repeat that performance to open her account
- MARILLAWOOD – Maturing, lightly raced filly with sound references/form credentials and scope for improvement. Acquitted herself well in (6th) on her handicap debut over 1400m at Le Lion-d’Angers on 11 July. Respected on her reappearance
- MISS ASCOT – Unplaced in 6 starts, all on turf – the latest (7th) over 2200m at Vannes on 21 September. Shown enough to suggest that she could get into the picture if taking to/effective on the PSF
- ALLEE DE LA PLAGE – Lightly raced filly with scope for improvement and sufficient means (has the form and experience to acquit herself competitively). Didn’t go unnoticed when finishing 4th over 1400m at Niort on 20 October – not taken lightly
- FURTIVE DIVINE – Unplaced in both PSF appearances, the latest (9th) in a 2400m Lyon-La Soie handicap on 18 November. Should do better over this shorter trip off a reduced mark – attractive outsider
- ZOE – Experienced filly with the undeniable means to play a leading role in a race of this ilk. Unplaced (8th) in a 1400m Bordeaux handicap on 5 November but shouldn’t be hastily condemned – keep safe, especially on the PSF
- OKAPI – Belardo debutante who benefits from Facundo Emmanuel Roldan’s 2,5kg allowance. Jose Luis Gomez Martinez owns and trains this filly
Summary: ALMALY (9) was returning from a break when finishing 2nd in a similar course-and-distance event last month and, while she is likely to improve with that comeback run under her belt, a repeat of that performance should suffice in this opening event. KEW BRIDGE (6) is the biggest danger, given her references in stronger races/fields. WATHAB (2) and ZOE (14) have the form and experience to make their presence felt too, with the shortlist completed by MARILLAWOOD (10) and ROYAL CADEAU (3).

C2 – PRIX NOUNOU ADOM (PRIX DES LUTINS) – 3100m (a2m) – ALL WEATHER – Class 4 Divided Handicap – Flat – EUR € 17,000 - SIXUNION – Inconsistent but has sufficient means – boasts sound references/form credentials at this level off his current mark. Shouldn’t be hastily condemned for finishing 10th in a 2100m handicap on this course on 30 November – respect
- PLATEADO – Placed once in 7 starts since winning a 3000m Dax handicap in late July (finished 8th in a 3200m PSF handicap at Chantilly on 12 December) but has dropped in the weights/ratings to his last-winning mark. Not taken lightly
- FATALISME – Sparingly raced versatile 9-year-old veteran who has lost little – if any – zest for racing. Showed his form/well-being by finishing 4th in a course-and-distance handicap on 23 November. Sets the standard
- PLUMBAGO – Lightly raced 4-year-old gelding with scope for improvement and sound references (form and experience), which include a last-start 6th on this course in a 2100m handicap on 30 November. On the shortlist
- ESCAPADE NOCTURNE – Versatile veteran handicapper with sound references/form credentials at this level on both surfaces, including a close-up 7th in a 2700m PSF handicap at Chantilly on 7 December. Dark horse
- GREASE – Capitalised on a drop in the weights/ratings to finish a reassuring 3rd on this course in a handicap over 2400m on 8 December. Will be competitive if confirming that form/improvement
- KIROZ – Hard-knocking veteran with sound references/form credentials, albeit without a victory since November last year. Back on the flat after an unsuccessful go over hurdles in a 3650m Mont-de-Marsan handicap on 8 December
- MYSTIC – Bounced back to form with a reassuring 3rd at Loudéac in a 2850m claimer on 21 April. Absent since but shouldn’t be underestimated on his reappearance
- KHAZAR LISES – Finished 10th in a course-and-distance handicap on 23 November back on the flat after 2 pleasing performances (3 starts) over hurdles. Best watched for now
- SPIRIT OF DANCE – Thrived back on the PSF, winning consecutive handicaps on this course – the latest over 2400m on 8 December under a 3kg penalty. Has more to do bumped up another 4kg
- BAILEYS ECLAIR – Took advantage of a career-low rating to finish an improved/encouraging 3rd on this course in a 2100m handicap on 30 November. Confirmation is expected off an unchanged mark

- MONTE CINTO – Has dropped to a competitive mark in the weights/ratings, and confirmed as much with an encouraging last-start 2nd in a course-and-distance handicap on 23 November. Should have a role to play
- GARRY D’AZE – Lightly raced 8-year-old rarely seen on PSF. Acquitted himself well in 3 recent turf handicaps on heavy ground, the latest (6th) over 2400m at Craon on 1 December, so shouldn’t be taken lightly back on the PSF
- MONT STEELE – Soundly beaten in 3 consecutive PSF appearances recently, the latest (11th) in a Deauville handicap over 2700m on 7 December. Can be ignored
Summary: Sparingly raced FATALISM (3) continues to display commendable resilience despite soundness issues that have plagued his career. He lines up here in good form and physical condition, and with legitimate winning ambitions. PLUMBAGO (4) tries his luck over a staying distance but has shown enough to acquit himself competitively. MONTE CINTO (14) bounced back to form last time and needs only to confirm that form/improvement (repeat that performance) to have a say in the outcome, while PLATEADO (2) could likewise off of his current (last-winning) mark.

- DA TEMPO DEA – Well-beaten 8th of 10 on debut in a course-and-distance maiden on 30 November. Improvement needed

- COUNT ON ME – Improved with every outing and will be competitive if building on an encouraging career-best 2nd in her last start at Limoges over 1400m on 30 November. Dark horse
- HONNEUR’S ORACLE – Yann Barberot-trained Birchwood debutante who is bred to be effective on this surface. Respected first-up with Louis Nomis in the irons

Summary: AMAZORE (7) finished an encouraging 3rd on debut at Le Mans in October and would’ve come on with the benefit of that experience. She needn’t improve much on her reappearance to open her account, even from a tricky starting berth. Improving RUE ERNESTINE (2) and unexposed POMME SURETTE (4) are best equipped to challenge the selection for race honours. Newcomer HONOR’S ORACLE (9) isn’t taken lightly on debut.

- KIMITOMO – Well-bred Yann Barberot-trained Kameko colt whose dam was a Group III runner-up at Deauville as a 2-year-old. A likely type on paper
Summary: Attractively bred KIMITOMO (9) has a precocious profile/pedigree so it could pay to take a chance on him making a winning debut for Yann Barberot. LAVIS (7), runner-up in a course-and-distance event last month. and RIGOLETTOS (5), who is best judged on his debut performance at Cholet, have the benefit of experience, so they could make life difficult for that newcomer.
