Summary: JABALPUR (6) has been imperious in winning consecutive starts over 2700m recently and, with solid references over shorter distances, he should continue his momentum. The opposition will likely be led by JOCONDE SIBEY (2), back to his best after a slump, consistent EDGAR SABA (13) and well-performed KEEN WINNER (1). There are several others with legitimate podium aspirations, including CORAL COGER (9) and DYLAN DOG FONT (14), with Eric Raffin at the helm, and DEA SPRINT BAR (3).

Summary: Many for whom a solid case can be made. JOURNEE REVEE (15), JAVA D’ANAMA (9) and JUSTICIA GLAM (8) renew rivalry after finishing in that order on 21 December, and they’re likely to dominate the leading positions. 98. GERSHWIN DE CHENU – Inconsistent but has sound references at this level, especially in this barefoot configuration. Must reaffirm after a recent failure at Bordeaux on 17 December – for another day
Summary: Prolific HURRICANE CARTER (13) is hard to oppose after an impressive last start (win) in this shoeing configuration, especially with Eric Raffin at the helm. HOCKFELER DU MESLE (7) leads the opposition in the company of HORS BORD (5), second to the selection last time out, with GRAND ROI KALOUMA (6) and GAGNEUR (12) other contenders for a spot on the podium. 110. JERIKA DE KERYANN – Consistent hard-knocker with the form and experience in this category to play a leading role. Finished 9th in a 2700m mounted race on this course on 21 December but she ought to far better in this grade/field
Summary: Enigmatic JUSTE SNOB (10) didn’t go unnoticed last time, despite his disqualification in a harness race here last month, and it could pay to take a chance on him making a winning mounted race debut. Hard-knocker JOYAU DE JANZE (11) boasts the form and experience in this category to expose any chinks in that rival’s armour. JERIKA DE KERYANN (12), ideally engaged, and JIMINY CRICKET (9), whose debut under the saddle was encouraging, aren’t taken lightly and should acquit themselves competitively, along with Damien Bonne’s new recruit JOMIZIO (6).
