C1 – PRIX DE BEAUCOURT – 2850m (a2m) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 40,000

  1. KOWEIT DE CHENU – Moves up the category ladder after running courageous 2nd of 11 finishers in a 2700m Class E here late-November. Has freshness on his side but still represents a minor place chance at best
  2. KERRO DE HOUELLE – Good, consistent sort that ran 5th of 14, a place behind KOPECK DE CHENU (7), in a Class D over course and distance on 7 January, and on good behaviour can finish closer
  3. KING OF RACE – Opened his metropolitan account when dominating a 2100m Class E here late last month. Matthieu Abrivard reining this time and will be afforded every chance
  4. KING LOOK – Fine servant that took no time to open his Vincennes account, winning a 2700m Class E on 4 January, and the Duvaldestin team will be anticipating confirmation
  5. KAVANI – 9th of 14, a place behind KOPECK DE CHENU (7), in a Class D over course and distance on 7 January and is not about to shake things up
  6. KING SUN DRALIAM – Reverts to racing with pads after being sanctioned in a Class D over track and trip on 7 January, and others preferred
  7. KOPECK DE CHENU – Reassuring 4th of 14 in a Class D over course and distance on 7 January and will not be sent out at 78/1 this time
    Summary: Winner of 4 from 5 in various states of configuration, KING LOOK (4) steps marginally up in category after winning over 2700m here earlier this month and, barefoot again, can expect the lion’s share of support. Opposition will be led by the well-entered KOPECK DE CHENU (7) who left a good impression under these conditions 12 days ago.

  10. MISTER CHARLY – Disappointing in last 2, latterly 9th of 11 behind MACHUCAMBO (9) in a Class B over course and distance last weekend, and must get his house in order
  11. MISTRAL DU GOUTIER – Drops in category after finishing last of 8 in a 2175m Gr.2 here a fortnight ago but still looks to have too much to do
  12. MILAN – Generous colt that ran 4th of 11 behind MACHUCAMBO (9) in a Class B over course and distance last Sunday. is justifiably well-regarded at home and, in this category, can again figure prominently
  13. MARQUETY DE BAILLY – Returns to the main track after winning a 2100m Class C over the inner course a month ago. Steps up in category but has shown improvement with Matthieu Abrivard and will again be expected to put on a good show. Place chance
  14. MYSTIC SONATO – Quality element making first appearance since coming 2nd of 8 in a 2200m Class B here early-November. Is new to the main track but can impose if he takes to the unfamiliar profile
  15. MAGICO DE LOU – Faulted early, and later denied a run, but still managed 6th of 13 in a 2850m Class A over the short course on 24 December. Eric Raffin reining this time and will be no pushover
  16. MACHUCAMBO – Has not put a foot wrong since his sanctioned debut, latterly 2nd of 11 in a Class B over course and distance last Sunday, and has a realistic chance of winning this
    Summary: Well-entered and plainly a colt for the future, MACHUCAMBO (9) was beaten only by a very good horse here last weekend and looks the pick this time. Mathieu Mottier will still want to be wary of the progressive MYSTIC SONATO (7) who returns fresh, and the well-regarded MAGICO DE LOU (8) who raced better here on Christmas Eve than the result would suggest.

  18. JINGLE DU PONT – Has looked a different horse since adopting current configuration, most recently winning a 2850m Class A with ease here 2 weeks ago. unlikely to repeat but can still give this a good go. First 5
  19. JOCONDE SIBEY – Honourable 6th of 14 to JABALPUR (6) in a 2100m Class A here on New Year’s Day. Is plainly better than that though and should not be entirely written off
  20. JASON – 3rd of 12 to JEEGHA PRIDE (8) in a 2100m Class A here on 3 January. Has won his last 3 under these conditions and can pick up a 4th
  21. JUST A MIDI – 6th of 12 to JABALPUR (6) in a Gr.3 over course and distance early last month and even though reconfigured appears to have limited prospects
  22. JABALPUR – Won his last 3, most recently a 2100m Class A on New Year’s Day. Has nothing to prove over course and distance and in current form it is hard to see him being bested
  23. JIOSCO DE PHYT’S – 3rd to JABALPUR (6) here last month before finishing lacklustre 6th of 10 in a 2850m Class A here 3 weeks ago. Is not out of the picture but others are better-in
  24. JEEGHA PRIDE – Authoritative winner of a 2100m Class A here on 3 January. Boasts solid references over 2700m here and can play a leading role
  25. JANGO VICI – Ran 3rd in a similar Gr.3 prior to finishing last but one in a 2700m Gr.1 here on 22 December. Is confirmed in the day’s configuration and should logically bounce back and finish in the mix
    Summary: Like a horse reborn this winter, JABALPUR (6) has won twice under these conditions recently, latterly imposed over 2100m, and is eminently capable of pulling off the 4-timer. JEEGHA PRIDE (8) beat JASON (4) here earlier in the month but Thomas Levesque’s colt races barefoot this time and can turn the tables.

  26. JASMINE DE VAU – 3rd in Prix Bilibili before repeating behind GAZELLE DE VAL (5) in 2850m Gr.2 Prix du Calvados a fortnight ago, and is unlikely to be far off the mark
  27. JEZABELLE BIE – Has shown a different side to herself this winter, most recently winning Gr.1 Prix Bilibili over course and distance mid-December. Shod as she was that day and even against older horses can hold her own
  28. INTOUCHABLE – 2nd in Prix Jules Lemonnier before enduring a tough trip, finishing last of 11 to GAZELLE DE VAL (5) in 2850m Gr.2 Prix du Calvados a fortnight ago. Is plainly better than that but may show the limit of his capacity this time
  29. JEWELCANDLE FAC – 8th of 12 in a 2700m harness Gr.1 here on 22 December. Makes first appearance under the saddle for 11 months and cannot be considered a contender
  30. GAZELLE DE VAL – Undefeated in 7 starts under the saddle, most recently winning 2850m Gr.2 Prix du Calvados in style 2 weeks ago. Faces a stiffer test this time but still has the wherewithal to secure the most coveted trophy in the business
  31. GUIDE MOI FORGAN – 5th of 12, on return to the discipline, in a 2700m Gr.3 here 3 weeks ago, and is simply not up to the task
  32. GOLD VOICE – Unraced since coming 4th of 7 to IDEALE DU CHENE (17) in 2175m Gr.2 Prix Jules Lemonnier on 21 December. Last but one 12 months ago and a rank outsider once more
  33. JOUMBA DE GUEZ – Close 2nd in Prix Bilibili prior to dominating 2700m Gr.3 Prix Léon Tacquet here a fortnight back and, in similar form, can make a big splash
  34. J’AIME LE FOOT – 4th in Prix Bilibili before running 9th of 15 in a 2850m Gr.2 harness conditioner here a week ago. Is an honest sort that always gives his best and while not a priority, he goes barefoot and will be worth monitoring
  35. INES DES RIOULTS – Quickly sanctioned in 2850m Gr.2 Prix du Calvados 2 weeks ago and will have nothing to contribute
  36. HIP HOP HAUFOR – 3rd of 9 in a harness Gr.3 over course and distance last weekend. Has been showing his form and although short of monte experience, his quality is not in question
  37. GRACE DU DIGEON – 8th of 13 to GAZELLE DE VAL (5) in 2850m Gr.2 Prix du Calvados a fortnight ago. Capable on a good day but bites off more than she can chew this time
  38. INA DU RIB – 5th of 13 to GAZELLE DE VAL (5) when prepping for this in 2850m Gr.2 Prix du Calvados a fortnight ago. Ran 4th 12 months ago, is dynamic when barefoot, and will be expected to contest the finish
  39. JEAN BALTHAZAR – Ran 5th in Prix Bilibili before coming 3rd of 9 to JOUMBA DE GUEZ (8) in Gr.2 Prix Léon Tacquet over course and distance a fortnight back. Will have more to find though
  40. EDITION GEMA – 2nd of 13 to GAZELLE DE VAL (5) in 2850m Gr.2 Prix du Calvados 2 weeks ago. Unplaced in last 2 editions but in present form is worth retaining for a minor place spot
  41. HIRONDELLE DU RIB – 7th of 13 to GAZELLE DE VAL (5) when prepping for this in 2850m Gr.2 Prix du Calvados a fortnight ago. Came close to winning 12 months ago, is barefoot for the occasion, but others still preferred
  42. IDEALE DU CHENE – 6th of 13 to GAZELLE DE VAL (5) when prepping for this in 2850m Gr.2 Prix du Calvados a fortnight ago. 3rd in 2024 edition, can seldom be criticised, and Paul Ploquin could well pick up his first Cornulier
  43. GRANVILLAISE BLEUE – 3rd of 7 to IDEALE DU CHENE (17) in 2175m Gr.2 Prix Jules Lemonnier a month ago. Has twice placed in the Cornulier, is clearly close to a big run, and must be afforded respect
    Summary: Simply remarkable since being switched to the monte code after a few unexceptional years under harness, GAZELLE DE VAL (5) is being aimed higher than ever before, but considering the nature of her Prix du Calvados victory, this seems a very achievable goal. One of just 5 males in the field, HIP HOP HAUFOR (11) appears to be back in the game and has sufficiently good harness credentials to be considered a player. IDEALE DU CHENE (17) achieved both of her winter targets en route to the Cornulier and, barefoot this time, has a realistic claim on the title. Similarly-unshod, but for the first time since running 4th in last year’s edition, INA DU RIB (13) must be taken seriously.

  45. IDOLE D’OURVILLE – 9th of 16 in a 2850m Class F here last Wednesday and backs up, barefoot, with unrealistic aspirations
  46. GUAPITA LAUMAX – Sanctioned when well-supported in a 2925m Cagnes Class E on 14 December. Takes on a tougher bunch this time and chances limited
  47. IDYLLE DU PERSIL – 6th of 13 when prepping for this in a 2925m Cagnes Class C on 3 January. Placed just once in 4 here this winter and, even with front shoes off, is unlikely to influence the result
  48. HANIKA DU LUPIN – Dips down the category-ladder after finishing 8th of 11 in a Class C over course and distance late last month. Has been showing her form all season, gets on well with Matthieu Abrivard, and can finish close
  49. FRISE PONT VAUTIER – 10th of 14 in a 2850m Class F here last weekend and in present condition can be confidently passed over
  50. IXELLE BLEUE – 12th of 14 behind FRISE PONT VAUTIER (6) in a 2850m Class F conditioner here last weekend. Has placed just once in the day’s configuration but the engagement of Alexandre Abrivard will do her chances no disservice
  51. GAILLARDE QUERAY – Unplaced in all 3 since the break, latterly 8th of 13 in a 2950m Toulouse Class D on 10 January. Unlucky however that day and is not incapable of getting a look-in
  52. HERAKLION – 6th of 16 in a 2925m Cagnes Class F a fortnight ago. Shoes off this time but others still preferred
  53. ILLUSION D’AMOUR – Imposed over 2100m before finishing a courageous 2nd of 9 finishers in a 2850m Class E here on 22 December. Eric Raffin stays faithful and can strike gold this time
  54. HIRONDELLE FEE – Model of consistency, most recently 2nd of 14 in a 2725m Cabourg Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Has been knocking at the door for some time and will be rewarded one of these days
  55. IDOLE DE MEAT – Ran 3rd in a Class B here before coming 4th of 14 in a 2800m Pontchateau Class E conditioner 2.5 weeks ago. Has been specifically prepared for this and can bring home the bacon
  56. IVANJICA DE LOU – Has not been seen out since coming 4th of 18 in a 3125m Angers Class E on 11 November. Is nicely-entered though, barefoot for the occasion, and not to be overlooked
    Summary: Lightly-campaigned over recent months but clearly in top shape, IDOLE DE MEAT (12) has decent form under these conditions and with shoes off for the occasion can open her 2025 account. She can nevertheless expect to be hard-pressed by ILLUSION D’AMOUR (10) who has been hard to knock lately, and ISLAND CASH (1) who has never disappointed when barefoot here. HANIKA DU LUPIN (5) drops in category after a respectable effort in better company late-December and must be considered a player.

  58. IT’S MY DREAM – Useful sort making first start since finishing last but one in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class D on 13 November. Barefoot for re-entry but better options available
  59. JE REVE DU BOIS – Quickly sanctioned in a 2850m Class A here a fortnight ago. Is no slouch when focused and, shod to preference, must be respected
  60. IKURO JIEL – Surprise winner of a 2850m Class D here early this month but has a mountain to climb this time
  61. BEAT GENERATION – Last but one in a 2850m Gr.2 here 2 weeks ago. Has previously won under these conditions, goes well for Eric Raffin, but others still preferred
  62. GOLDEN GRACE – Imposed under the saddle over the short course before coming 8th of 14 in a 2850m harness Class C conditioner on New Year’s Day and is thoroughly capable of getting a look-in
  63. IMAGINE D’ATOUT – 2nd of 9 in a 2650m Bordeaux Class C on 27 December. Has no references over the distance but has been fitted with pads for first time and in current form is easy to like for a first-5 cheque
  64. HORIZON CARISAIE – Back under the saddle after finishing 7th of 17 in a 2800m Pontchateau harness Class D on 22 December and looks out of his depth
  65. IVANOF – Showed his form at Cagnes before being disqualified and placed last in a 2925m Class D on Boxing Day. Is clearly in excellent shape though and if kept out of trouble can challenge for a place in the frame
  66. FEVE DE BEYLEV – Steps up in category after coming 4th of 17 in a 2850m Class D here 3 weeks ago but is taking on too much this time around
  67. ILTON ROYAL – Takes to 2175m for first time after coming 3rd of 10 finishers to ILLENC DES BOSC (12) in a 2700m Class C here on 1 December. Seldom disappoints in this branch of the business and is not about to start. Chance
  68. ILLENC DES BOSC – Tenacious winner of a 2700m Class C here on 1 December. Thrives over 2175m and will take all the beating
  69. EROS ZOLA – 5th of 14, on just 2nd start back, in a 2800m harness Class C here on Christmas Eve. Sports modified shoeing, has been entrusted to Alexandre Abrivard, and looks a major player
    Summary: A tough nut to crack when barefoot and focused, ILLENC DES BOSC (12) won a competitive Class B here early last month, is reunited with Mathieu Mottier, and can confirm. IVANOF (9) ran him close that day and should again figure prominently, but may first have to see off the wonderfully-consistent ILTON ROYAL (11) whom he just beat on that occasion, and the nicely-engaged Swedish import EROS ZOLA (13) who won 4 times here last winter.

  70. IN AMERICA – Looked very ordinary before being sanctioned in a 2850m Class E here on 21 December and even racing barefoot is unlikely to cause an upset
  71. IZIJAL – Unseen since winning a 2700m Graignes Class G on 8 December but is shod to preference for comeback and will have his supporters
  72. IVALO DU BOCAGE – Makes first appearance since being sanctioned early in a 2825m Chartres Class E last October and has no possible chance
  73. INVICTUS DE NILREM – Has not put a foot out of line for some time, most recently close third of 16 behind IN TO MARANCOURT (9) in a 2100m Class E here late last month, and can again challenge for a step on the podium
  74. INDY DE SALSA – Has 3 runs under his belt since the break, latterly 5th of 18 in a 3000m Chateaubriant Class D a fortnight ago, and will endeavour to stay undefeated over the main track
  75. ICARUS BOURBON – Sanctioned when never dangerous in a 2400m Amiens Class E on 9 December. Has been off the boil for some time and will have nothing to offer
  76. IBERO BELLO – Last but one when prepping for this in a 2650m Bordeaux Class D 10 days ago. Shoes off this time though, with Eric Raffin in the bike, and must not be underestimated
  77. INDICE D’ARGENT – Last of 9 behind ITALIANO DI PAO (10) when preparing for this in a 2100m harness Class E here 2 weeks ago. Is in competition-mode this time and looks a serious proposition
  78. IN TO MARANCOURT – Tenacious 2nd of 16 in a 2100m Class E here late last month. Patently at the top of his game and Gabriele Gelormini will be eyeing the trophy this time
  79. ITALIANO DI PAO – Unthreatening 6th of 9 in a 2100m Class E here a fortnight ago and has a lot more to find
  80. IDEAL DU DIGEON – Has not been seen out since finishing 8th of 9 in a 3000m Chateaubriant Class E last September. 4 pads fitted but others easier to back
  81. ILIO MANNETOT – Won 2 of last 3, most recently a 2875m Argentan Class F with authority 3.5 weeks ago. Has no references over the day’s distance but is still easy to recommend. First 5
  82. INEDIT DU PAVILLON – 7th of 9 behind ITALIANO DI PAO (10) in a 2100m harness Class E here 2 weeks ago. Has placed just once in 7 starts over main track but enjoys a superb entry, races barefoot, and Benjamin Rochard will be keen to take advantage
    Summary: A number in with a shout here but is nonetheless hard to ignore how well IN TO MARANCOURT (9) has been racing recently and his latest performance augurs well for his prospects. Close 3rd to him on that occasion, INVICTUS DE NILREM (4) is again in with a shout, but may first have to defer to the classy but complicated INDY DE SALSA (5) who is barefoot for his first objective of the winter, and a reconfigured INDICE D’ARGENT (8) who boasts an excellent Vincennes win-rate.

    C8 – PRIX DE MIRANDE – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Gr3 Race – Harness – EUR € 90,000
  83. ERNESTO ROC – Sanctioned in 3 of last 4, most recently a Class C over course and distance 2 weeks ago, and will have little to offer
  84. KOBAYASHI – 11th of 13 in race of reference when preparing for this. Shod to preference this time but is far from the horse he once was and chances appear limited
  85. JAZZMAN (GER) – Below-par in 2 since imposing over the inner track, latterly 9th in 1 January race of reference. Unlikely to shake things up but reverts to a previous formula and can pick up some first-5 prizemoney
  86. KELLE BEAUTE – Somewhat unlucky 7th of 14 behind EDGAR SABA (6) in a 2100m Class A here on New Year’s Day. Has raced and placed at a superior level and will have a lot to contribute if Alexandre Abrivard keeps her focused
  87. KARLA DE MAI – Sanctioned in last 2, latterly a Gr.2 over track and trip early last month, and recent numbers do nothing to inspire confidence
  88. EDGAR SABA – Comfortable 4th of 14 in a 2100m Class A here on New Year’s Day. Excels in the day’s configuration and will be no easy touch
  89. KEEN WINNER – Quality mare that was sanctioned in a 2100m Class A here on 1 January. Is clearly better than most here and this could well be the day she gets her nose back in front
  90. KAVIARISSIME – Ran 3rd in a monte Gr.1 prior to finishing last but one in 1 January race of reference and represents no more than a minor place prospect
  91. KAMEHAMEHA – 8th of 14 behind EDGAR SABA (6) in a 2100m Class A here on 1 January. Was not disgraced that day, has more to give and the wherewithal to trot his way into the frame
    Summary: KEEN WINNER (7) may not have lived up to expectations in her last 2 but she has nothing to prove at this level and, if focused, can impose. KELLE BEAUTE (4) was not the luckiest last time out, owns a formcard which belies her true value, and must not be underestimated. EDGAR SABA (6) beat a number of these, including the latter, last time out and returns to a configuration in which he has yet to be beaten.

  94. LORD DE BANVILLE – Sanctioned in 3 of last 4, most recently a 2175m Class B here 9 days ago, and will have few friends
  95. LOTUS GRIFF – Showed a different side to himself when 2nd of 5 finishers in a 2175m Class B here 9 days ago. Barefoot again and front the 4-spot will not be available at 34/1 this time
  96. LOIC BARON – Unlucky here in December but made amends when comfortably winning a 2925m Cagnes Class B 10 days ago. Handed a good spot behind the car and can play an active role
  97. LAST MAN – Came 2nd of 7 finishers, on re-entry, in a 2700m Class C here on 29 December. Will have come on for the run and should once again prove competitive for victory
  98. LUTIN JABA – Won over 2175m before coming a disappointing 3rd of 5 finishers, a place behind LOTUS GRIFF (4), in a 2175m Class B here 9 days ago. Has talent to burn though and can give LAST MAN (6) a run for his money
  99. LUTIN VENESI – 5th of 10 finishers in a 2700m Class D here a week ago. Forced to break wide but is first-time barefoot and must not be ruled out
  100. LE CAP – 6th of 7 finishers behind LAST MAN (6) in a 2700m Class C here 3 weeks ago. Still in conditioning mode and best to hold off
  101. L’AMIRAL DARLING – Has climbed the category-ladder in good order, most recently dominating a 2700m Class D here on 27 December. Hind shoes off this time but is pitted against better and the draw will do him no favours
  102. LORENZO DE CHENU – Close 2nd of 7 finishers in a Class D over course and distance 3 weeks ago. Steps up in category but Raffin is back in the bike and must be afforded considerable respect
  103. LE SAP – Sanctioned when being prepared for this in a 2700m Class C here late last month. Already boasts a fine win-rate and is not incapable of extending it further
    Summary: Not once out of the first 2 when sporting pads, and beaten only by a very good horse last time, LAST MAN (6) starts in front, races barefoot for the occasion, and can make this his own. It will be no easy task though given how well the freshly-reconfigured LUTIN JABA (7) has been acquitting himself here this winter. A quality trotter, LE SAP (12) is forced to break from the second line but will be fit by now and competitively-shod.
