IRIS DES YOLAIS (9) is in good shape and can fight out the finish once again. IXELLE BLEUE (16) is not easy to trust but is a threat if she turns up in the right mood. C1 – PRIX DES PALMIERS – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class F Race – Harness – EUR € 23,000
- JAGUAR DELO – Sanctioned in a 2925m Class F here on Boxing Day. Has had time to recalibrate and from even with the inside draw will be dangerous, if applied
- JEZILDA MAUVE – Did not enjoy the best of circumstances when sanctioned in a 2925m Class E here on 17 January. Can trot when focused and is not one to be overlooked
- JUST PRETTY ONE – Rather unfortunate in both starts here this term, latterly sanctioned in a 2925m Class E here on 17 January. Has significant ability, hails from a yard in form, and can win this if she stays in stride
- JIMMY DU CLOS – Back in the professional ranks after running 4th of 14 in a 2650m Vivaux amateurs Class G conditioner here 10 days ago. Is new to the venue but still looks competitively well-in
- JIMOKA – Last of 5 in a 2150m Class F here last Sunday. Competitively-shod this time, with her handler in the bike, and is sufficiently well-placed to give this a good go
- JADA MOKO – Ran 4th over 2150m here before finishing 10th of 15 in a 2925m Class E here earlier in the month. Ran 2nd last time under these conditions and from the front line is unlikely to go home empty-handed
- JONGLEUSE DE BRY – Sent for a break after securing the double here last July. Sanctioned after 200m on re-entry in a 2925m Class E, also here, on 17 January. Not once out of the frame when focused and even drawn wide, still looks the one to beat
- JACKPOT DE MAHEY – Has struggled to replicate last season’s form, latterly sanctioned in a 2650m Vivaux Class F 2 weeks ago, and even though reconfigured still looks a rank outsider
- JANGO SMART – Last but one when preparing for this in a 2925m Class D 2.5 weeks ago. Handed a shocking draw and will have nothing to offer
- JACKPOT D’AXEL – Makes first appearance since finishing last but one in a 2150m Toulouse Class F early-December. Shoes on and no threat
- JO THUNDER – Has struggled to make any impact for some time, latterly sanctioned in a 2650m Vivaux Class F a fortnight ago, and the draw will do him no favours
- JUNIOR D’ETE – Respectable 4th at Borely before coming 5th of 15 in a 2150m Class F here on 18 December, and will not be available at 173/1 on this occasion
- JASMIN BLEU – 9th of 11 finishers in a 2925m Class E here on 17 January and can be confidently disregarded
- JESCO DE LA VALLEE – Sanctioned under the saddle here before repeating in a 2700m Lyon-La Soie harness Class E on 20 January. Front pads fitted this time but is not about to shake things up
- JUMPER – Sanctioned in 3 of last 4, latterly a 2650m Marseille-Vivaux Class F on 14 January, and can be passed over
- JAZZ IN BELLAY – Has solid references here but has been out of sorts, most recently faulting in a 2925m Class E here on 17 January, and even though shod to preference can expect to find himself treading water
Summary: An excellent servant when focused, and quite the fan of Cagnes-sur-Mer, JONGLEUSE DE BRY (7) lost her action early here recently but can redeem herself if Romain Derieux assures her initial strides. Better-placed in front, JUST PRETTY ONE (3) would have finished close here that day had she not been sanctioned, but Nicolas Ensch has shod her differently and will be eager to set the record straight. JIMMY DU CLOS (4) is barefoot for his first objective of the new year and being handed the 4-spot will only enhance his prospects. JAGUAR DELO (1) should not be too hastily-judged for his recent blunder here and, with application, is unlikely to disappoint.

C2 – GRAND PRIX DE VINCENNES – 2925m (a2m) – Gr3 Race – Harness – EUR € 80,000 - EAGLE EYES – Trounced in last 2, latterly 12th of 14 to FRONSAC (3) in a 2700m Class C here on 17 January, and has no possible chance
- HEROS DES MOTTES – Consistently acquits himself competitively, most recently 3rd of 16 to FRONSAC (3) in a 2700m Class C here on 17 January. Takes on a better lot this time but should nevertheless hold his own
- FRONSAC – Not everyone’s cup of tea but is hard to ignore after winning 2700m Class C here, with authority, 12 days ago, and even though stepping up in category will not be sent out at 114/1 this time
- FIFTY BLACK – Out of the picture in 3 this term, latterly 11th of 13 behind EL GRECO BELLO (17) in Gr.3 Prix de la Côte d’Azur 3 weeks ago and can be confidently ruled out
- IDEAL SAN LEANDRO – Returns to a track he appreciates after running 9th of 14 in a 2700m Vincennes Class C 11 days ago and has a realistic chance of finishing in the mix
- KING COLE (SWE) – Won on comeback before running 4th of 16, a place behind KING COLE (SWE) (6), in 9 January race of reference. Won a similar event during the summer and is not to be underestimated
- ZIGULI DEI GREPPI – Returns to France after running 4th of 10 over 2460m in Bologna earlier in the month. Not devoid of ability but would be preferred a level down
- HUDO DU RUEL – Comfortable winner of a Class B under these conditions a month back. Breaks in front and will be expected to bring the fight to GLOBAL AGREEMENT (9)
- GLOBAL AGREEMENT – Secured his 8th straight French race when dominating a 2100m Vincennes Class C on 17 November. Races well when fresh and from the front line can win this
- GREAT OF MADRIK – Raced better behind HONKY TONK BLUES (12) in a course-and-distance Class B a week ago than his 4th place would suggest. Enjoys a terrific entry and will be competitive for a spot on the podium
- FONZY D’HERIPRE – Talented but sanctioned in last 6, most recently a 2700m Class B here on 21 December, and will have few takers
- HONKY TONK BLUES – 5th in 9 January race of reference before coming 3rd of 15 in a Class B over course and distance last week. 25m worse off this time though and others preferred
- EDY DU POMMEREUX – Returns to racing unshod-behind after finishing 8th of 13 finishers behind EL GRECO BELLO (17) in Gr.3 Prix de la Côte d’Azur 3 weeks ago and will struggle to improve on that
- EBERTON – Failed to impress in Gr.3 Grand Prix de Noël prior to faulting in a Class B over course and distance a week ago, and others easier to back
- FLOREAL – Lost his action when full of running in Gr.3 Prix de la Côte d’Azur over course and distance 3 weeks ago. Is plainly in fine form and can finish close if his driver keeps him trotting
- BORDEAUX S. – 8th of 14 behind HONKY TONK BLUES (12) in a Gr.3 over course and distance on 21 December. Has looked very ordinary of late and others preferred
- EL GRECO BELLO – Beat KING COLE (SWE) (6) when 3rd of 16 in Gr.3 Prix de la Côte d’Azur over course and distance 3 weeks ago. On back row again and a repeat is not out of the question
- FAKIR MERITE – Back under harness after coming 4th of 7 finishers in a 2700m Vincennes monte Gr.3 2.5 weeks ago. Starts here for just 2nd time and cannot be considered a priority
Summary: Winner of his last 10 starts, and undefeated in France, GLOBAL AGREEMENT (9) showed during the autumn that he can stay. He races barefoot for his first start of the year and will be expected to pick up where he left off. HUDO DU RUEL (8) cannot boast such a formcard but he has yet to be bested under these conditions and looks the main threat. GREAT OF MADRIK (10) left a good impression here recently and Henk Grift could not have asked for a better engagement. Going well when sanctioned in the Gr.3 Prix de la Côte d’Azur, FLOREAL (15) starts 25m further back but will have his chances if Robin Bouvier keeps him focused.

- GIRLY VICTORY – Reassured somewhat when 5th of 8 finishers in a 2650m Marseille-Vivaux Class F 10 days ago but can expect to find the going a bit tougher this time
- IVANA DE BERTRANGE – Back under harness after running 3rd of 10 in a 2650m Vivaux monte Class E 10 days ago. Competitively-shod this time and is not incapable of springing a small surprise
- IDYLLE DU PERSIL – Got back in the game when 3rd of 7 finishers in a 2700m Vincennes Class D 10 days ago. Is reunited with Jean-Charles Féron who won with her last autumn and must be taken seriously
- HERAKLION – By no means disgraced when 5th of 7 finishers behind IDYLLE DU PERSIL (4) in a 2700m Vincennes Class D on 19 January. Has been knocking at the door of late and while unlikely to get her nose in front, can still make first 5
- GAILLARDE QUERAY – Pleasantly-surprising 4th of 7 finishers, a place behind IDYLLE DU PERSIL (4), in a 2700m Vincennes Class D on 19 January. Has previously imposed over course and distance and merits credit
- HISTOIRE DU MIDI – 9th of 13 behind IDYLLE DU PERSIL (4) in a Class C over course and distance on 3 January and will need to find significantly more
- IMPULSE JULRY – Enjoyed quite the resurgence in last semester of 2024, latterly winning like a good thing over course and distance mid-December. Has a lot going for her here and can expect the lion’s share of support
- GEODE DU CHERISAY – 6th in last 2 at this level, most recently a 2150m Class D here on 6 January. Gives a good account for the most part but needs to raise her game somewhat
- ISEULT FLOWER – Ran 4th over 2150m on Cagnes debut on 21 December before finishing 8th of 13 in a 2650m Vivaux Class E 10 days ago. Is better than that though and is worth retaining for a minor place cheque
- GEOLE DE LA TOUQUE – Disappointing so far this winter, latterly last of 10 in a Class D over course and distance a week ago. Races barefoot this time though and, if focused, can get in on the action
- IRIS DES CHAMPS – 7th of 9 when being conditioned in a Class C under these conditions on 18 December. Has freshness on her side and, shod to preference, will be expected to bring the fight to IMPULSE JULRY (8)
- IRINA DE BAILLY – Makes Cagnes debut after having finished 7th of 11 in a 2700m Vincennes Class D on 20 December and does not make the long trip only to return home empty-handed. Place chance
Summary: IMPULSE JULRY (8) made it 3 in a row when dominating a Class E here mid-December, has been afforded ample time to recover, and the 4-timer looks a distinct possibility. That said, IRIS DES CHAMPS (12) has 2 runs under her belt, was simply magnificent at Cagnes last summer and, shod as she was then, will be expected to bring it on. Also well-entered, IRINA DE BAILLY (13) has been entrusted to David Bekaert for the first time and drops in category with a good hand to play. IDYLLE DU PERSIL (4) has yet to win here but her recent Vincennes performance bodes well for her chances of picking up another place cheque.

- INVISIBLE SAM – 3rd of 13 in a 2650m Vivaux Class E 10 days ago. Unlikely to spring any surprises but still has the wherewithal to make first 5
- GLOWING MOKO – Oddly below-par 10th of 15 behind FALFAUST (13) in a Class D over track and trip early this month. Gives a decent account for the most part when applied and has a reasonable chance of finishing in the mix
- GO AWAY BIRD – Last of 14 in a Class D over track and trip 3 weeks ago. Races barefoot this time but is unlikely to generate much interest
- HERODE DU CORTA – Even better since starting to race in current configuration, latterly winning a 2950m Toulouse Class D with ease on 10 January, and has every chance of securing the hat-trick
- FIGARO GRAVE – Respectable but unthreatening 6th of 13 behind INVISIBLE SAM (3) in a 2650m Vivaux Class E 10 days ago. Barefoot this time but is not about to cause an upset
- ENJEU DAIRPET – Runner-up in a claimer before finishing 6th of 12 in a Class D over course and distance last week, and is simply not up to the task
- GRAND TRIO LUDOIS – Placed twice here recently before holding off the good El Greco Bello to win a 2625m Agen Class B a week ago. Yet to disappoint here and is not about to start. Place chance
- HYDROMEL – Reverts to a previous configuration after faulting early in a 2150m Toulouse Class D on 18 January. Gabi Gelormini reining this time and something of a turnaround anticipated
- IRU FUSHI – In the frame in last 4, most recently 3rd of 13 finishers in a Class B over course and distance 12 days ago. Is a tough nut to crack in the day’s configuration and should prove competitive at the business end of affairs
- IDEFIX DE CENTULE – 3rd of 14, behind IRU FUSHI (11) here on 21 December before finishing last of 13 to the same horse in a Class B conditioner under these conditions 12 days ago. David Békaert in the bike and looks a serious proposition
- FALFAUST – 3rd here early this month before finishing a well-beaten 8th of 12 in a Class D over course and distance last week. Is proven here but still no more than a minor place chance
Summary: Very hard to fault since the autumn, HERODE DU CORTA (6) trounced the opposition at Toulouse a week before Christmas and should take all the beating. Third on his Cagnes debut before prepping here recently, IDEFIX DE CENTULE (12) enjoys a wonderful entry and, barefoot for the occasion, will be no pushover. Dynamic over the past two months, GRAND TRIO LUDOIS (9) is difficult to ignore, as is IRU FUSHI (11) who has been knocking at the door lately.

C5 – PRIX DES NENUPHARS – 2925m (a2m) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 22,000 - KENT CLARK – Sanctioned when favourite in 9 January race of reference. Is not an easy horse to handle but sports a new configuration and, if applied, could pleasantly surprise
- KHEOPS TURGOT – Good, consistent trotter that was rewarded with success 10 days ago when dominating a 2650m Saint-Galmier Class E. Placed 3rd here 2 weeks earlier and must be considered a player
- KAMI DU BOURG – Would have finished in the money in a Class E over course and distance 3 weeks ago had he managed to stay in stride. Gabriele Gelormini gets the nod this time and will be expected to put things right
- KOKIN DE BELLANDE – One-paced 6th of 8 finishers to KIKO JOSSELYN (8) in a Class E under these conditions 3 weeks ago. Has won twice here but in current shape still has more to find
- KHEOPS DU PERSIL – Has not been seen out since finishing last of 11 in a 2825m Parilly Class B last September and is going to need the race
- KASIMODO – 4th of 8 finishers to KIKO JOSSELYN (8) in a Class E under these conditions 3 weeks ago. Races barefoot this time and although not a priority is still worth keeping an eye on
- KINO DE LAUMIERE – Has been improving of late, most recently 2nd of 10 finishers in a 2150m Class E here last week, but seems to be aimed too high this time
- KIKO JOSSELYN – Opened his 2025 account with an authoritative Class E course-and-distance victory 3 weeks ago. In marginally better company this time but can still double up
- KRUNCH BOCNEUF – Makes first appearance since 2 December when easily winning a 2300m Marseille-Borely Class E. Unbeaten with his driver who will be out to keep that record intact
- KHARTOUM DE LA FYE – Quality individual that was sanctioned early on re-entry in a Class D over course and distance on 3 January. Has nothing to prove in this category and, if applied, can bring home the bacon
- KSAR VRIE – Returns to conditions he adores after having run 5th of 11 in a 3000m Nantes Class E on 17 January and, in current shape, will be expected to give KHARTOUM DE LA FYE (10) a run for his money
- KASSOUMAYE – Showed considerable improvement when 2nd of 10 finishers in a 2150m Class E here a week ago after having run 5th in race of reference and must be afforded respect
- KELLY GEDE – Last but one in a Class D over course and distance 2.5 weeks ago and recent numbers do nothing to inspire confidence
- KASH DE TAGOR – Last of 12 when prepping for this in a Class D over course and distance 2.5 weeks ago. Ideally-entered at the limit of earnings, and races barefoot, but others still easier to back
Summary: Consistently in the thick of things when he can stay focused, KHARTOUM DE LA FYE (10) boasts marvellous Cagnes form and with a race under his belt, can get back to doing what he does best. Romain Derieux will still want to be wary of KSAR VRIE (11) who has won 2 of 3 starts under these conditions, and KIKO JOSSELYN (8) who made short work of a similar event 3 weeks ago. KRUNCH BOCNEUF (9) has not been seen out for almost 2 months but thrives with David Bekaert and can pick up where he left off.

C6 – PRIX DES JACINTHES – 2925m (a2m) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 22,000 - LEWIS KING – 5th of 8 finishers in a Class F under these conditions last Sunday and is not about to improve on that
- LE POMMEREUX – Sanctioned in last 3, latterly a Class F over track and trip on Sunday. Goes barefoot for the first time but cannot be considered a player
- LUCKY MAN – Ran 5th here before coming a flattering 3rd of 6 finishers in a 2650m Vivaux Class F a fortnight back. Is unlikely to spring any surprises but can still play a small part
- LLUC DES BOSC – Sanctioned, on return from a spell, in a 2925m Class E here on 18 December. Competitively-shod this time and will be dangerous if he stays in stride from one end of the race to the other
- LOU PRESTANCE – Did not enjoy the best of trips when 4th of 6 finishers in a 2700m Class E here 2.5 weeks ago. Is close to opening his French account and with more luck in running will be in a position to apply the pressure on LIPSTICK QUICK (7)
- LE PRINCE – Sanctioned in both since the autumn break, most recently a Class E over course and distance 2.5 weeks ago. Ability and liking for Cagnes are not in doubt and it is just a question of time before he is competitive once more
- LIPSTICK QUICK – Put away after winning at Avignon last May, returned on 18 December coming 3rd of 9 finishers, behind LOU PRESTANCE (5), in a Class F over track and trip. Is a serious sort in the making and looks the pick of the field
- LE DESTIN – Ran 3rd in a 2650m Vivaux Class F mid-month, at 85/1, only to be disqualified for interference. Is never easy to gauge but with form, and stride, maintained can trot his way into the frame
- LEADER DES APRES – Sanctioned in 2 of last 3, most recently a Class E over course and distance 2.5 weeks ago, and others easier to trust
- LOUSTIC DU MIDI – Failed to confirm Nimes success when last of 6 finishers in a 2650m Marseille-Vivaux Class F a fortnight ago and will struggle to leave his mark
- LUTIN DE BOISNEY – Modest 5th of 6 finishers, a place behind LOU PRESTANCE (5), in a 2700m Class E here on 17 January. Is plainly better than that though and has a fine occasion to come good again
Summary: LIPSTICK QUICK (7) may have just three runs in him but he has shown significant aptitude for the game, made an excellent re-entry here last month, and with hind shoes off this time should more than have the measure of the useful LOU PRESTANCE (5) who finished ahead of him that day. LE DESTIN (8) defied his odds over at Vivaux mid-month and can play a leading role on Cagnes debut if his driver keeps him focused. Clearly talented but never far from faulting, LLUC DES BOSC (4) has had his freshener, goes unshod-behind for the first time, and with application will be no easy touch.

C7 – PRIX DES VIOLETTES – 2150m (a1m1/4) – Class C Race – Harness – EUR € 24,000 - MARQUIS D’ENFER – Makes first appearance on the Riviera after running 8th of 12 in a 2850m Vincennes Class A on Christmas Eve. Was by no means disgraced that day and should find conditions more to his liking here. Chance
- MISTER FOURCADE – Last of 12 behind MARQUIS D’ENFER (1) in a 2850m Vincennes Class A on Christmas Eve. Should not be condemned for the clinker and under these conditions should be able to get back in the game
- MISS LADY D’ALESA – Has taken well to Cagnes profile, latterly winning a Class D over course and distance earlier this month. Has significant room for progress and is ideally-positioned to wrap this up
- MA REINE – Got off the mark at Saint-Brieuc last Friday, comfortably winning a 2575m Class F. Takes a marked step up in category though and not an obvious choice
- MISTER BARRA – Lacklustre last of 7 finishers behind MARQUIS D’ENFER in a 2100m Vincennes Class C on 18 December. Is no slouch on a good day but others still preferred
- MATIGNON – In the frame in 3 of last 4, most recently 2nd of 9 in a 2925m Class C here 12 days ago. Is plainly close to his race and will be no soft touch when push comes to shove
- MAD DREAM – Put in a good effort to run 4th of 9 behind MATIGNON (6) in a 2925m Class C here 12 days ago. Gabi Gelormini in the bike this time and spoiling the party will be very much on his mind
- MANHATTAN ROUSSAC – 6th of 10, a place behind MARQUIS D’ENFER (1) in a 2100m Vincennes Class C on 18 December. In less-exalted company this time and did not make the long trip to see the sights. Place chance
Summary: Barring a blip at Laval, MISS LADY D’ALESA (3), has gone from strength to strength, has found conditions to her liking here, and from the 3-spot is well-placed to confirm her early-January victory. Esteban De Jesus will still be keeping a keen eye on MARQUIS D’ENFER (1) who takes a notable dip in category, and MANHATTAN ROUSSAC (8) who consistently gives everything he has.

C8 – PRIX DES NARCISSES – 2150m (a1m1/4) – Class F Amateur Drivers Race – Harness – EUR € 8,000 - JAIKA DES FANES – Easy winner of a 2925m Class E here on 17 January. Breaks in front and has every chance of making her amateur debut a winning one
- IRONIE DU BAS BOSQ – Left a good impression after being sanctioned in 9 January race of reference. Nicely-placed in front and will not be far off the mark if Philippe Terme keeps her trotting
- ISPAHAN TEAM – Ran 3rd here on 3 January before stylishly winning a 2925m amateurs Class G 6 days later. Excels with Kassandra Fresneau and will be competitive for the double
- JAMAIQUE TURGOT – 9th of 13 when preparing for this in a 2650m Vivaux Class E 10 days ago. Is in competition-mode this time, has been gifted the 4-spot, and looks a major player
- HOLY GRACE – Races barefoot for first time in 2 years after running 6th of 10 to ISPAHAN TEAM (3) in a 2925m amateurs Class G here 3 weeks ago, and from the 5-spot can get back in the game
- JYLVIE DE GUEUDE – Pleasant 6th of 16 in a 2650m Marseille-Vivaux Class F a fortnight ago. Entrusted to an experienced driver for first amateur steps and has a realistic chance of going close
- GALAXY DU REYNARD – Amateur specialist making first start since running 2nd of 12 in a 2750m Nimes amateurs Class G on 1 December. Barefoot for comeback though and will have claims on a first-5 cheque
- JOY FOR EVER – Serious mare that ran 3rd of 10 finishers to JAIKA DES FANES (1) in a 2925m Class E here on 17 January. Shoes on this time, and widely-drawn, but should not be written off
- INDESKAYA BIRD – Drops down the category-ladder after being sanctioned in a 2650m Vivaux Class F on 14 January. Shoes back on and no threat
- JOLIE DE CORTEM – Last but one behind JAIKA DES FANES (1) in a 2925m Class E here on 6 January. Is not devoid of ability but has little going for her this time either
- JAZZ DU GOUTIER – 5th of 12 in a 2575m Agen amateurs Class G 10 days ago but is sent out shod this time and best to wait
- JAMIROQUAI – Pleasant 7th of 10 finishers in a 2925m Class D here 2.5 weeks ago. Sports modified shoeing and will struggle to make his mark
- GENESALIA – 8th of 16 behind ISPAHAN TEAM (3) in a 2925m amateurs Class F here on 3 January. Hind shoes off but others still easier to back
Summary: In cracking form in the professional ranks, JAIKA DES FANES (1) may have been handed the rail this time but should nevertheless have this in the bag if she reproduces her latest performance. Better-placed behind the car and twice a winner in 3 amateur starts, ISPAHAN TEAM (3) will not be denied easily. Stablemate JYLVIE DE GUEUDE (6) takes a dip in category, starts in front, and in this company must be taken seriously. JAMAIQUE TURGOT (4) finds herself ideally-positioned in front, is shod to preference following a pair of conditioners, and is not about to let the side down.
SELECTIONS – JAIKA DES FANES (1) – ISPAHAN TEAM (3) – JYLVIE DE GUEUDE (6) – JAMAIQUE TURGOT (4
