R1 VINCENNES [L-H]

C1 – PRIX DE LANGEAIS – 2850m (a2m) – Class B Race – Harness – EUR € 75,000

  1. HOLERO LOVE – Made it 2 straight sanctions when faulting in a 2700m Class C here on 18 January and is not about to spring a surprise
  2. FURIOSO FLIGNY – Has thrived at Vincennes this winter, most recently inheriting victory in a 2100m Class D here 2 weeks ago. Is clearly in shape though, has decent 2850m credentials and is unlikely to be far from the action
  3. GARDON – Generous type returning to conditions he appreciates after coming 5th of 16 in a 2700m Cagnes Class C a fortnight ago. Not a leading contender but races barefoot and should nevertheless hold his own
  4. INGRID TURGOT – Good 2nd of 15 in a 2925m Cagnes Class D 3 weeks ago. Has yet to show any liking for Vincennes and others easier to trust
  5. INSHOT JOSSELYN – Serious trotter making first appearance since dominating a Class D over course and distance early-November. Shoes on and will need the race
  6. GREAT TIGRESS – Unable to confirm her 2100m success when 5th of 12 in a Class D over track and trip early this month. Can prove a handful but is better than latest result would suggest and must be considered a player
  7. FAST CASH – Last of 15 in a 2100m Class B here 2.5 weeks ago. Has other priorities and can be ruled out
  8. HERALDIQUE – Last but one behind ILAYA (10) in a 2700m Class C here on 18 January, on first start since the spell. Will have come on for the run, is shod to preference with Gabi Gelormini reining, but others still easier to back
  9. GAMIN DE MAHEY – Put his December disqualification behind him when 2nd of 15 in a Class D over course and distance earlier this month. Continues over his preferred trip and is unlikely to disappoint. Place chance
  10. ILAYA – Won a Class C over 2700m here prior to finishing 4th of 14 under similar conditions 12 days ago. Has decent references under these conditions and will be expected to contest the finish once more
  11. GALA D’URFIST – Here for a change of scenery after finishing 9th of 13 in a 2700m monte Gr.3 here late last month and can be passed over
  12. GRINDELWALD – Left a good impression 12 days ago when 3rd of 10 in a Gr.3 over course and distance. Has 25m further to travel this time though and more a minor place prospect on this occasion
  13. HEDE DARLING – Oddly lacklustre 5th of 15 in a 2925m Cagnes Class B last week. Has never disappointed when barefoot over 2850m here and with JMB back in the bike, can set the record straight
  14. INSHORE – Has not been seen out since being sanctioned in a 2700m Class A here on 18 November. Preparing for a return to the ridden code and has nothing to offer
  15. HARLEY GEMA – Good class of mare that finished an honourable 8th of 15 in 2850m Gr.2 Prix de Belgique here 2.5 weeks ago. Is back in her category and has the wherewithal to wrap this up
  16. ESPACE WINNER – Going good-guns when sanctioned 100m out in 2700m Gr.3 Prix du Forez here on 11 January. Cannot be considered a priority but with form maintained will be one to watch
Summary: A quality mare with excellent references under these conditions, HARLEY GEMA (15) moves back to a more reasonable level following a valiant but unproductive Prix de Belgique performance, and even though on the back line, she still looks the one to beat. Hard to fault when barefoot over 2850m here, HEDE DARLING (13) will be no shrinking violet. Both ILAYA (10) and GAMIN DE MAHEY (9) find themselves ideally-engaged on the front row and, given their respective form, each looks competitive for a place on the podium.

    C2 – PRIX DE LAZENAY – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 35,000
  17. LE GOLDEN PHYT’S – Defied traffic issues and brief stride woes to run 5th of 13 in a 2100m Class D over main track 2.5 weeks ago. Goes barefoot again and should have this in the bag if his driver keeps him out of trouble
  18. LEBARON D’OURVILLE – Got off the mark in a 2825m Cordemais Class F on 5 January. Pitted against better this time and even though barefoot for the occasion, still appears to have too much to do
  19. LUXOR D’ECAJEUL – Runner-up in last 2, most recently a 2000m Lyon-Parilly Class F on 14 December. Races unshod behind but in this category can expect to have few friends
  20. LETS GO HAPPY – 4th of 10 after being denied a run in a 2175m Class E here 9 days ago. Unlikely to lose his maiden tag but can still pick up a first-5 cheque
  21. LEGATO DE FELLIERE – Made up for Chartres sanction when 4th of 12 finishers in a 2700m Class E at Lyon-La Soie on 11 December. Can trot when focused, races first-time barefoot, and from the 5-spot can give this a good go
  22. LEXCELLENT DU METZ – Sanctioned in 2 over the main track, latterly when storming up in a 2700m Class E on 15 January. Trainer in the bike this time, will be more suited to these conditions, and could pleasantly surprise
  23. LIBRIUM – Made it 2 for 2 when dominating a 2550m Bordeaux Class F 3 weeks ago. Faces a tougher test this time but benefits from a Benjamin Rochard drive and must be taken at face value. Chance
  24. LIVE MY DREAM – Ran 5th under the saddle before faulting in a 2700m Class E here mid-month. Is plainly in shape though, is better than most here, and can figure prominently if he stays in stride
  25. LEON DE L’AUNAY – Respectable but unthreatening 5th of 10, a place behind LETS GO HAPPY (4), in a 2175m Class E here 9 days ago. Hind shoes back on but no more than a minor place chance
  26. LIEGO DU NOYER – Last but one in a 2850m Class E over inner course here on 7 January. Competitively-shod this time but still not easy to recommend
Summary: LE GOLDEN PHYT’S (1) has caught the eye more than once this winter, was very unlucky over the main track earlier in the month, but given his speed and potential, can defy the draw and open his Vincennes account. Louis Baudouin will still be keeping an eye on the tricky but talented LIVE MY DREAM (8) who just needs top keep trotting in order to play a leading role, and LEXCELLENT DU METZ (6) who will be better-off in this mobile start.
    SELECTIONS

    C3 – PRIX DE FLEURANCE – 2200m (a1m1/2) – Class C Race – Harness – EUR € 38,000
  27. MELKIOR DE BAILLY – Unraced since finishing last but one in a 2175m Class D here on 5 December and will have nothing to contribute
  28. MOVING QUICK – Decent 4th of 5 here before faulting at the start of a 2275m Nantes Class F a fortnight ago. Is never far from losing his action but will be expected to play an active role if his driver keeps him focused
  29. MISTER YELLOW – 2nd of 5 finishers, on debut, in a 2875m Argentan Class F on 11 January. Will have progressed for the run but may just be taking on too much this time
  30. MISTER ROYAL – Moderate 3rd of 5 finishers behind MAESTRO BILOU (6) in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Should take well to this even profile and will be no soft touch
  31. MENINO – Put a trio of sanctions behind him when 2nd of 7 in a 2050m Lyon-La Soie Class F 12 days ago. Mathieu Mottier at the helm this time but chances still seem limited
  32. MAESTRO BILOU – Promising colt that was beaten only by a very good horse in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class E 2.5 weeks ago. In better company this time but looks a well-balanced colt and should not be ruled out. First 5
  33. MOUSTIK LA GOVELLE – Tenacious 2nd of 9 in a 2175m Class D here 2 weeks ago. Has a lot more to give but whether he can beat MADE IN MARETTES (12) again remains to be seen
  34. MISTRAL CASTELLE – Somewhat uneasy 4th of 9 behind MOUSTIK LA GOVELLE (7) in a 2175m Class D here 2 weeks ago. By no means the worst horse here but still needs to find more
  35. MUST ATOUT – Lost his maiden tag at Graignes in December but quickly sanctioned 3 weeks ago here in a 2100m Class C over the inner track. Is a decent colt in the making and will not be far off the mark if François Lagadeuc assures his initial strides
  36. MONTEQUILLO – Got off the mark at Cabourg in December prior to being sanctioned in a 2100m Class C over the inner track here 3 weeks ago. Not devoid of ability but others still easier to trust
  37. MIDORIYA DU BOURG – 2nd of 11 in a 2100m Lyon-Parilly Class B on 14 December. In better company this time but will still have his supporters
  38. MADE IN MARETTES – Quality colt taking first steps over inner track after coming 3rd of 9 behind MOUSTIK LA GOVELLE (7) in a 2175m Class D here 2 weeks ago. Has bags of potential and looks set to open his metropolitan account
Summary: Very hard to knock since his triumphant first steps on the track, the well-engaged MADE IN MARETTES (12) made a fine Vincennes debut, missing out to MOUSTIK LA GOVELLE (7). He will have come on for the run and under these new conditions should be in a position to turn the tables. MOVING QUICK (2) left a good impression over the short track earlier in the month and Benjamin Rochard will be eager to put his Nantes sanction behind him. MISTER ROYAL (4) has shown significant promise and her chances will only be enhanced with the champion driver in the bike.
    SELECTIONS

    C4 – PRIX DE CHOLET – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class A Race – Mounted – EUR € 51,000
  39. MAJESTEDARCHE – Last of 6 finishers, first time under the saddle, in a 2200m Class D here 10 days ago and can be confidently disregarded
  40. MELODY DE VIVOIN – Distant 3rd of 6 finishers on debut in a 2200m Class D here 10 days ago and has no possible chance
  41. MEMPHIS ELLIS – Quality element that lost his action when setting out his stall in a 2700m Class B here 3 weeks ago. Has talent to burn and will figure prominently if kept focused
  42. MAESTRO DE JOUDES – Has acquitted himself decently to date but will need to improve on latest 4th of 5 finishers to MHUM FLYNG (6) in a Class B over course and distance 3 weeks ago
  43. MAESTRO DU VOYAGE – Imposed over the short course prior to being sanctioned in 10 January race of reference but will not be far off the mark if Alexis Collette can keep his charge’s mind on the game
  44. MHUM FLYNG – Stylishly won a Class B under these conditions 3 weeks ago. In marginally better company this time but still looks main threat to stablemate MALICE CAILLERIE (8)
  45. MISS DES BESACES – Won over the short course before coming 3rd of 8 to MALICE CAILLERIE (8) in a Class B over course and distance on 14 January. Ran an honest race that day and can again finish close
  46. MALICE CAILLERIE – 4th on debut over the short course before dominating a Class B over course and distance on 14 January and a similar effort would see her confirm
  47. MANHATTAN JIEL – Flattering 3rd of 5 finishers to MHUM FLYNG (6) in a Class B over course and distance 3 weeks ago and will need to raise his game
  48. MAESTRIA GALAA – Useful filly taking first competitive ridden steps after running 4th of 6 in a 2850m harness Class A over short course on Christmas Day. Cannot be considered a priority but can still play an honest role
Summary: Christophe Clin looks to have this sewn up with MALICE CAILLERIE (8) who comfortably won under these conditions mid-month, and MHUM FLYNG (6) who similarly got off the mark over 2700m here, but with even more authority. Sanctioned that day, MEMPHIS ELLIS (3) is undeniably a horse for the future and will have a lot to contribute if Paul Ploquin manages to keep him trotting.

    C5 – PRIX D’ISSOIRE – 2850m (a2m) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 40,000
  49. LISBETH DRY – Capable but very complicated filly returning to Vincennes on a hat-trick of sanctions, most recently over 2840m at Mons early-December. Barefoot for first time but is unlikely to spring any surprises
  50. LIBERTE DE CHOISEL – Unraced since easily winning a 2725m Graignes Class E on 12 November. Will have been prepared for this though and has the quality to make a big impact
  51. FINLANDIA TOR – Debuts at Vincennes after running 2nd of 7 over a mile in Florence mid-December. Just beaten by a horse who has since run well here and deserves to be taken seriously
  52. FOXY LADY BI – Tries her hand in Paris after coming 2nd of 10 over a mile in Naples just last week. François Lagadeuc gets the nod but would still be preferred a level down
  53. LUNA HAUFOR – Made it 2 on the trot, on Vincennes debut a month ago, winning a 2700m Class E with consummate ease. Steps up in category but is still expected to figure prominently
  54. LINNA DE VANDEL – Would have finished closer than 6th of 15 in a 2175m Class D here 12 days ago had she been afforded a run. Is plainly close to her best and can impose if kept out of trouble
  55. LUMIERE DU CHENE – Sanctioned early in a 2175m Class D here 12 days ago. Has done little of note here this winter and can be disregarded
  56. FANNY BREED – Useful Italian filly but has been sanctioned in 3 of last 4, latterly over 2020m in Florence. Front shoes off, with Eric Raffin reining, but others easier to trust
  57. LADY HAUFOR – Made up for early-December sanction when 2nd of 14 in a 2700m Class D here on Christmas Eve. More competitively shod this time and David Thomain will have a legitimate claim on the spoils
  58. LADY DES ARRIS – Opened main-track account with ease on 18 January, comfortably winning a 2700m Class E. Takes on a better lot this time and looks no more than a minor place chance
  59. LAUREN DE BEYLEV – Showed marked improvement when 4th of 11 finishers in a 2700m Class D here 3.5 weeks ago. Hind shoes off for first time and must not be underestimated
  60. LEA D’ATOUT – 7th of 9 finishers in a 2100m Class B here 10 days ago after having been denied a run. Form is not in question though, races barefoot, and will be no pushover if afforded a clean trip
  61. LA FORMIDABLE – Has not been seen out since winning over 2350m at Avenches mid-October. Competitively-shod but others still preferred
Summary: Noteworthy in her last three starts, LINNA DE VANDEL (6) has not had her way much recently but has been reconfigured and is eminently capable of winning this. LIBERTE DE CHOISEL (2) may not have been seen out since November but she has won 3 of the 4 races she has contested and makes her Vincennes debut with justified ambition. A promising filly and runner-up in 2 of her last 3 starts, LADY HAUFOR (9) sports a new configuration and can play a leading role. Stablemate LUNA HAUFOR (5) has won 3 from 5 and has been similarly shod.

  62. EMY STECCA – Unremarkable sort that finished 11th of 12 finishers behind ELSA KILLER GAR (12) in a 2850m Class D here early-December. Has no love for Vincennes and can be passed over
  63. COSMEA – Hardy German mare that looked ordinary before being sanctioned in a Class C under these conditions 3.5 weeks ago. Reverts to a previous formula but others still preferred
  64. EASY DI GIRIFALCO – Remarkably-consistent Italian mare that ran 2nd of 7 over 1660m in Bologna a month ago. Alexandre Abrivard reining this time and despite the hike in class, must not be written off
  65. EKARIN BABA – Good, consistent Italian mare turning to France for first time after winning over a mile at San Siro 11 days ago. Gabriele Gelormini in the bike and will be afforded every chance. First 5
  66. KID LEA DRIVER – Back in Paris after coming 3rd of 11 in a 3000m Nantes Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Barefoot for the occasion but is still not a concern
  67. KINJAL DE BELLANDE – 3rd over course and distance early-December before repeating in a 2750m Cabourg Class E on 2 January. Takes on a better lot this time but can still hold her own
  68. KALIE PRIMO – Produced a pair of good efforts before being denied a run here mid-month, coming 6th of 13 behind KYA D’ERABLE (14) in a Class E over track and trip. Mathieu Mottier reining for first time and can apply the pressure on KALIAKIE PHEDO (8)
  69. KALIAKIE PHEDO – Made it 2 in a row with an authoritative Class E victory over course and distance on 3 January. Comes here fresh and should again have the measure of the field
  70. KIM SPEED – Ran 2nd over course and distance before finishing last but one in a 2100m Class E on Christmas Eve. Will have freshness on her side, gets an Eric Raffin drive for first time, and is unlikely to be far from the action
  71. ELECTRA ZS – Takes on Vincennes for first time after finishing last of 11 over 2020m in Florence 2.5 weeks ago. Sports front pads for the occasion but others still preferred
  72. KEONA DELALANDE – Won in Marseille prior to running 3rd of 17 in a 2925m Cagnes Class E on Boxing Day. Sanctioned on lone Vincennes appearance but in current form is easy to like for a spot in the mix
  73. ELSA KILLER GAR – Returns to racing barefoot after finishing last but one in a Class C over track and trip on 6 January. Has yet to convince in Paris and others easier to back
  74. KALINE D’ERABLE – Makes first appearance since being sanctioned in a Class E under these conditions on 18 December. Has been afforded time to recalibrate and with an unhindered path can make a big splash
  75. KYA D’ERABLE – Respectable 3rd of 13 in a Class E over course and distance on 14 January. Has been showing all the right signs lately and Damien Bonne can count on a competitive run
  76. ERITREA – Decent Italian type making Vincennes debut after running 3rd of 6 over 2100m at Le Capannelle late last month. Front shoes off but still appears to be taking on too much
  77. KUNZITE D’EM – Not disgraced when 6th of 8 in a 2850m Class D here 10 days ago. Enjoys a terrific entry but still has more to find
Summary: Enjoying something of a resurgence since being entrusted to Francois Lagadeuc, KALIAKIE PHEDO (8) trounced the opposition here earlier in the month and the hat-trick should be on the cards. They can still expect to encounter resistance from the progressive KALIE PRIMO (7) who can count herself very unfortunate last time out, and the handy KALINE D’ERABLE (13) who was never at her ease here last month. Stablemate KYA D’ERABLE (14) is clearly on the right road and can again challenge for a place in the frame.

  78. KIWI DU BISSON – In the frame in last 2, latterly 2nd of 8 finishers in a 2700m Graignes Class F a month back. Takes on a better lot this time though and chances seem slim
  79. KALIBRE – Has been knocking at the door since the autumn, most recently 4th of 12 in a 2700m Class E here 9 days ago. Barefoot for first time here but still represents no more than a minor place prospect
  80. KADOR DE VILLABON – 5th of 11 in a Class E over course and distance 3 weeks ago. David Thomain in the bike this time but a repeat still seems improbable
  81. KALL ME CENSERIE – Did not enjoy the best of trips when 6th of 12 behind KALIBRE (2) in a 2700m Class E here on 21 January. Seems to be close to previous form and is not one to be written off
  82. KAPTAIN DE CRISTAL – Would have finished closer than 6th of 10 in a 2150m Cagnes Class E last week had he not faulted close to home. Has a poor Vincennes history though and can be ruled out
  83. KAZAN BEACH – Failed to confirm good Pontchateau run when 7th of 9 finishers behind KAYAK (12) in a 2700m Class E here on 4 January. Races first-time barefoot though and will be expected to show another side
  84. KNOCKANDO – Won a 2800m Argentan Class F last Saturday, 2 weeks after placing at Angers. Has yet to show any liking for Vincennes however and others preferred
  85. KORRIGAN SIBEY – Starts for the first time since running 2nd of 10 finishers in a 2550m Bordeaux claimer early-December. Shoes on for re-entry and best to hold off
  86. KARO DAIRPET – Got 2025 off to a good start with 100/1 success in a 2425m Angers Class F last week. Has never disappointed when barefoot and although unlikely to repeat, should still be taken seriously
  87. KISS COOL MIJACK – Made all to comfortably win a 2850m Mauquenchy Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Should take well to the main-track profile and has every chance of doubling his money
  88. KRONOS DE BUSSET – Got back in the game 11 days ago when 2nd of 13 in a 2650m Saint-Galmier Class E. Flopped on lone start here but Eric Raffin gets the nod this time and will afford him every chance. First 5
  89. KAYAK – Has taken well to Vincennes conditions, most recently 3rd of 9 finishers in a 2700m Class E on 4 January. Is not far off winning in the capital and must be afforded considerable respect
  90. KINGSTON DU BOURG – Has 2 races under his belt since the break, most recently 7th of 18 in a 3125m Angers Class F last Saturday. Shoes on however and others easier to back
  91. KIT ANGOT – 5th over 2700m here in December before coming 7th of 13 in a 2750m Cabourg Class E early this month. Is plainly better than that and given the chance will be close to the action
  92. KOMAN – Gives Vincennes another shot after coming 2nd of 14 in a 2650m Bordeaux Class E 3 weeks ago. Barefoot for the first time at the venue and with Mathieu Mottier in the bike will be no easy touch
Summary: A fairly open affair this but it is still difficult to ignore KISS COOL MIJACK (10) who imposed in very good order at Mauquenchy recently. Barefoot as he was when victorious at Carentan, and with Alexandre Abrivard reining, he looks a serious proposition. That said, KOMAN (15) has been firing on all cylinders recently, enjoys a terrific entry, and racing barefoot here for the first time could just be key to his success. Already proven over 2175m here, KAYAK (12) has taken well to the main-track profile and will be shod to preference. KIT ANGOT (14) sports a fresh configuration after disappointing at Cabourg but has good speed which will serve him well here.

  93. VALLATONIAN – Sanctioned when well-backed in a 2550m Bordeaux Class E earlier this month. Alexis Collette in the bike this time but will still struggle to make his presence felt
  94. HASHTAG SIMONI – Failed to make much of an impact before being sanctioned in a 2700m Class C here a month ago. Has previously won in the day’s configuration but cannot be considered a player on this occasion
  95. JOLICOEUR – Takes a notable step up in category after comfortably winning a 2700m Class E here on 14 January. Mathieu Mottier in the bike again but appears to be taking on too much
  96. DEMETRIO – 3rd of 15, on return to France, in a 2850m Class D over the short course 10 days ago. Has never made his mark on the main track but in current condition is very easy to like
  97. DIE HARD (ITY) – Ran 2nd over 2700m before finishing a below-par 7th of 14 in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Must not be hastily-judged and should logically bounce back and give JUNKIES MINDS (12) something to consider
  98. CAMERON – Takes first competitive steps south of the nordics after running 3rd of 9 over 2640m at Eskilstuna mid-month. Barefoot with Yoann Lebourgeois reining for the occasion and must not be overlooked
  99. NATURAL MINE – Opened his French account when victorious in a 2550m Bordeaux Class E on 5 January. Races barefoot, with Alexandre Abrivard reining, but seems to have his work cut out
  100. KINGSLAYER PELLINI – Fine Scandinavian import taking first steps for new handler, not having been seen out since running 7th of 11 over 1640m in Boden last October, and will not be far off the mark if he takes to the new profile
  101. JARDYLAND – Steps up in category after securing a 2700m Class D here on 7 January. Not incapable of imposing at this level but looks more a first-5 prospect
  102. JOB DES MOLLES – 4th of 18 when being conditioned for this in a 2825m Cordemais Class D mid-month. Hind pads off this time and will be expected to finish close at the business end of the race
  103. JOVIAL HAUFOR – Runner-up in 2 before coming 4th of 16 in a 2700m Class C here on 20 December. Has yet to impose this winter but it will not be long before he does. Chance
  104. JUNKIES MINDS – 8th of 14 finishers in a 3000m Chateaubriant Class D conditioner earlier in the month. Has a lot going for him here and can get straight down to business
  105. DAYAK (ITY) – Respectable but unthreatening 4th of 8 finishers behind DIE HARD (ITY) (5) in a 2700m Class C here a month ago. Not a priority but can still pick up a cheque
Summary: Dynamic at Vincennes and fresh from a conditioner in the provinces, JUNKIES MINDS (12) races barefoot for the occasion, has been entrusted to Eric Raffin for the first time, and is going to take all the beating. Leading the opposition is the well-regarded DIE HARD (ITY) (5) who will have appreciated his jaunt in the countryside, and JOVIAL HAUFOR (11) who has been acquitting himself competitively this winter. Reassuring at Cordemais and boasting excellent course-and-distance credentials, JOB DES MOLLES (10) is shod to preference and will be reunited with Benjamin Rochard who has already won with him.

C1 – PRIX DES BLEUETS – 2000m (a1m1/4) – ALL WEATHER – Claiming – Flat – EUR € 16,000

  1. LINDERHOF – Unplaced last time out, she won before that over 2000m at Marseille Pont De Vivaux on November 25th in a handicap. Leading chance in a drop in class
  2. LOUIS DEUX – He won on his last run over 2150m in a claimer at this track on January 21st. Ought to be thereabouts
  3. BARSSIO – Two unplaced efforts in 2024, the most recent over 1400m at Prague (CZE) on September 21st. Unlikely to be a threat
  4. LILAROSE – 5th over 1600m 12 days ago, she won at Lyon La Soie over 1800m in October in a claimer and is best judged on that win. In the mix
