- ADWAN – Regained form/momentum in 3 outings off his current mark, the latest (3rd) in a course-and-distance handicap on 10 January. High on the shortlist
- IRISHKAMAYA – Consistent but hard to win with – finished 2nd in 6 of 7 handicap appearances off this mark, including 3 consecutive recent starts. Wouldn’t be winning out of turn after her latest 2nd in a course-and-distance handicap on 10 January
- LAURA TREZY – Wasn’t winning out of turn when scoring in a 1400m PSF handicap at Chantilly on 16 January. Remains competitive for victory despite the resultant 2kg penalty

- LOUVE PRECIEUSE – Inconsistent handicapper with undeniable means but finished unplaced in both starts off her current mark, the latest (11th) in a 1400m PSF handicap at Chantilly on 16 January. For another day
- KAMETA – Experienced but inconsistent hard-knocker. Runner-up in a 1300m handicap at this venue in December so shouldn’t be hastily condemned for finishing 8th in a course-and-distance handicap on 10 January

Summary: LAURA TREZY (7) wasn’t winning out of turn when quickening well in the latter stages to score at Chantilly last month and a resultant 2kg penalty may not be enough to prevent her from following up. IRISHKAMAYA (6) deserves a reward for her consistency and few (if any) would begrudge her victory after 6 runner-up finishes in her last 7 starts. Both ADWAN (5) and KELLY KEY (3) are competitive off their current marks so shouldn’t be underestimated.

Summary: Consistent LE ROCKEUR (4) finished behind last-start winner COSMO BEAU (8) on this track last month but should avenge that defeat on 2,5kg better terms. ABELARD F (1) caught the eye when finishing 3rd in a course-and-distance event at this level last time and will be competitive with a repeat of that performance, which also applies to CALYPSO (7) who was 2nd over track and trip when last seen. DROIT DE PAROLE (10) appeals most of the remainder.

Summary: MR CASSIOPE (5) is a useful horse in this division and seems well entered in this line-up. He gets a tentative vote in this opener ahead of ZEYZOUN (1) who is a fairly consistent performer but has to carry a lot of weight today.
