He is preferred over CHARLESQUINT (6) who scored for new connections over 2400m 5 days ago. He can adapt to various distances and will not be inconvenienced by the drop back to 1900m. NORSK (4) looks like a safe each-way option. MANDEGA (8) heads the rest.

Summary: ELEGANTIA (6) has been in good shape recently and can keep up her consistent form and record another success. CLOUD MAN (11) won gamely at Deauville earlier this month over 2500m and is a threat. The step up in trip is probably a positive. AIRA (7) is one to include in all of the place bet permutations. MAESTRO CHOP (14) won two starts ago and is racing from the right end of the handicap. He can be involved.

- KALEO SALSA – Solid effort when 3rd over 2500m in a Class 3 race at Deauville on February 8th. Player
- AND WE DANCED – 3rd at Deauville over 2500m in a Class 3 handicap on her latest start on February 8th. Unplaced before that and seems inconsistent
- KASIMSKA – Four unplaced runs since she won over 2300m at Mons-Ghlin (BEL) on September 10th. Not seen on this surface since 2023 and looks safely held
- MONT STEELE – 4th on his last start over 3100m at Pornichet in a Class 4 handicap on February 20th. Recent course form has been poor

- CHECKPOINT CHARLIE – 5th on his latest start over 3400m at Deauville on January 17th in a Class 3 handicap. One to pay attention too
Summary: RED JOY (1) has been knocking at the door on her last two starts, the latest in late January over 3400m. She is an honest performer and is preferred over KALEO SALSA (9) who will do her best to overturn the selection. She was third at Deauville over 2500m on her latest outing on February 8th. ARGYRON (5) has been placed on his last three starts and is a safe option each-way. PARFAITE MERILL (14) is also worth considering.

- MISTER GOKEN – Recent win over 2500m at Deauville in a Class 3 handicap on February 8th. Ought to be involved at the finish
- LE GAST – Creditable 4th on his last run, he won before that at Deauville on January 4th in a Class 4 race. Place contender
- BEL ARISTO – Unplaced last time out, he won before that at Pau over 2400m in a Class 3 handicap on January 8th. Needs to be more reliable
- SITUMELEDEMANDAIS – Four unplaced efforts since he won over 2500m at Deauville in a Class 3 handicap on November 2nd. Needs a return to form to be involved
- SCREEN SHOT – Fair 4th over 2500m at Deauville on January 4th in a Class 4 race. This extra distance should not be inconvenient as he is a previous track/trip winner in 2024
- MAC LA TAMBOUILLE – Won on his latest outing over 3400m at Deauville in a Class 3 handicap on January 31st. Honest and can make the top four
Summary: PONT MIRABEAU (4) was a narrow winner last time over 2500m at Deauville last month. The step up in trip could bring out a bit more improvement. PENTAOUR (3) won over track and trip two runs back in a Class 3 claimer in December and was a credible sixth at Deauville earlier this month on his latest start. SCREEN SHOT (14) is a previous course and distance winner and can not be ruled out. MISTER GOKEN (10) is also worth a mention.

R4 LAVAL [L-H]
C1 – PRIX LE LOIR – 2850m (a2m) – Class E Race – Mounted – EUR € 30,000
- JUAN PERRINE – Takes first public steps under the saddle after running 11th of 14 in a 2100m Vincennes Class D on 8 February. Is plainly better than that though and even looks a respectable first-5 prospect
- JUSTICE D’EOLE – Last of 14, on return from her break, in a harness Class E over track and trip mid-month. Is useful in the ridden code but would have better prospects at a lower level
- ILVICA DE HOUELLE – 8th of 12 in a 3000m Nantes Class F 9 days ago. Is far from her best and must first re-establish her credentials
- JUMBO DE LUNESE – Wonderfully-consistent element that ran 4th of 8 finishers in a Class E under these conditions 3 weeks ago. Enjoys a front-line break, appreciates Laval, and has every chance of imposing
- JOJO DE L’AUNAY – Sanctioned in a harness Class E over course and distance when preparing for this mid-month. Seldom disappoints when focused and returns to a previous formula with a good hand to play
- ICE HAUFOR – Makes monte debut after being sanctioned in a 2700m Vincennes harness Class E a week ago. Takes on some serious players here and is unlikely to rock the boat
- JAD DE CALIX – Sanctioned, on return from his break, in a 2700m Class D here 3 weeks ago. Sports a successful formula this time but still needs to take his game up a notch
- JOKER DU HAMEL – Good 2nd of 12 in a 2175m Vincennes Class D on 11 February. Is plainly close to his race and the 8kg allowance will do his prospects no disservice
- JOKER DE FROULAY – Has 2 races under his belt since the break, latterly sanctioned in a 3000m Nantes harness Class F on 18 February. Mathieu Mottier in the saddle this time and is thoroughly capable of getting his nose in front
- JULIANA DE RETZ – Sanctioned when preparing for this in a 2625m Agen conditioner mid-month. Boasts fine ridden references and Guillaume Martin will be eager to make amends
- GAVROCHE D’OMBLAIS – Makes first appearance since finishing last but one in a 3000m Nantes Class E last June. Shoes fitted and will need the run
Summary: One of the most reliable horses in the game, JUMBO DE LUNESE (4) put in a good effort on his re-entry here earlier in the month and, reunited with Alexandre Abrivard, can bring home the bacon. JOKER DE FROULAY (9) may never have delivered at Laval under the saddle, and starts 25m worse off, but he races barefoot and has nothing to prove at this level. JOJO DE L’AUNAY (5) is competitively-shod for his return to the code and if applied can make the most of his front-row break and finish close. JULIANA DE RETZ (10) makes her first monté start of 2025 and with stride in check will have a lot to contribute.

C2 – PRIX FEU FOLLET – 2850m (a2m) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 21,000 - KRONOS CAMP – Sprang quite the surprise when 2nd of 8 finishers in a 3000m Nantes Class E 9 days ago. Sports 4 pads for first time and even though stepping up in category should not be written off
- KITO DUNGY – Pleased at Chateaubriant on re-entry before finishing 7th of 11 behind KETBERNY (7) in a 2700m Machecoul Class F 3.5 weeks ago and is not easy to recommend
- KIROYAL DU VINOIS – Quality trotter returning from an extended hiatus. Is competitively-shod for re-entry but is nonetheless expected to need the outing
- KANSAS STYLE – Last but one in a 3000m Nantes Class E a fortnight ago. Has been disappointing on the whole and, even though reconfigured, will have nothing to offer
- KINGS CANYON – Complicated type that was sanctioned on return to competition in a 2700m Graignes Class E last weekend and can be confidently passed over
- KALAWAT – Starts for first time since running 4th of 9 to KARRINGTON (13) in a 2850m Vincennes Class E 12 months ago. Shoes off for re-entry and if race-fit, can play a leading role
- KETBERNY – Looked decidedly ordinary when 7th of 9 in a 3000m Nantes Class E last week and can expect to have few takers
- KENZO BY MAGALOU – Has not been seen out since running 7th of 14 in a 2850m Maure-de-Bretagne Class F last November. Is proven here when barefoot though and should be competitive for a first-5 payout
- KESARO FIRST – Sanctioned, when unsupported, in a 2650m Bordeaux Class F early last month and can expect to remain friendless in the markets
- KASSIANO D’IS – 5th of 9 finishers in a 2700m Vincennes Class E on 21 January. Has had time to recover, breaks in front, and racing barefoot may be just the ticket. Chance
- KLEEN D’EPUISAY – Moderate trotter starting for first time since faulting in a 2825m Durtal Class F last October and is unlikely to cause an upset
- KARO DU BELET – Sanctioned in a 2575m Saint-Brieuc Class F 11 days ago. Nicely-engaged on first row, races barefoot as he was when runner-up at Vire a month ago, and warrants respect
- KARRINGTON – Sanctioned on 2nd start back in a 2700m Vincennes Class E on 11 February. Is behind in earnings and can make a big splash if Mathieu Mottier keeps him trotting
- KOLOSSE RHODES – Capable sort but has not been seen out since finishing last but one in a 2700m Vincennes monte Class D 4 months ago and can be ignored
- KIRWAN THORIS – Useful individual that will have come on for his mid-month return run when sanctioned in a Class E over course and distance. Races barefoot this time and must not be overlooked
- KING D’EB – Sprang a 59/1 surprise when 2nd of 11 finishers in a 2875m Argentan Class E 3 weeks ago. Unlikely to repeat but with form maintained, can get in on the action
- KIKOU D’ALEXIANE – 4th of 14 in a 2700m Vincennes Class E on 11 February. Gets on well with Benjamin Rochard and is unlikely to be far off the mark
Summary: Not always the easiest of horses to rein, KARRINGTON (13) is forced to start on the second row but is a category above most here and has never disappointed in the day’s configuration. New to Laval but clearly in fine shape, KASSIANO D’IS (10) returns to racing barefoot and will have his chances from the front line, as should a barefoot and fresh KALAWAT (6) who also starts in front. Wonderfully-entered at the limit of earnings and currently enjoying a productive run of form, KIKOU D’ALEXIANE (17) has placed just once in 5 here but is still very hard to ignore.

C3 – PRIX QUERIDO II – 2850m (a2m) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 35,000 - IRINA D’ATOUT – Imposed at Cagnes early-January before missing out by little in a 3125m Angers Class F 3 weeks later. Enjoying a renaissance since having been reconfigured and can bring the battle to GAMIN DES ISLES (14)
- INSIGHT SPOKEN – Unraced since coming a disappointing 8th of 11 finishers in a Class D under these conditions mid-month and will need to find significantly more
- FERIA DE LIGNY – Unraced since being sanctioned in a 2800m Pontchateau monté Class E on 22 December and is unlikely to spring any surprises
- HERCULE DE LEAU – Fine 2nd at Nantes before running 7th of 16 in a 2100m Vincennes Class D 3 weeks ago. Reunited with Benjamin Rochard, for whom he excels, and can set the record straight. Place prospect
- HECTOR DE BASSIERE – Makes first appearance since finishing 8th of 15 behind GET UP DES PLAINES (8) in a 2750m Cabourg Class D on 17 December. Shoes on this time though and will have little to offer
- ISOCRATE D’ELA – Unraced since running 3rd of 10 in a 2800m Pontchateau monté Class E on 22 December. Here for reasons of conditioning and with shoes on can be ignored
- HUNT – 4th of 16 in a 3000m Nantes Class E a month back. No penalty to incur this time, won his only start at the venue, and will legitimately generate interest
- GET UP DES PLAINES – Last but one, after having been denied a run, to GAMIN DES ISLES (14) in a 2850m Vincennes Class D a week ago. Is clearly in top shape and considerable improvement anticipated
- GALANT DE BRUYERE – Reassuring 4th of 16 to GAMIN DES ISLES (14) in a 2850m Vincennes Class D a week ago despite a difficult trip, but will be dangerous if Guillaume Lenain keeps him out of trouble
- INDIGO PIERJI – Starts for first time since faulting in a 2850m Vincennes Class D early-December. Boasts fine Laval references but races shod this time and best to hold off
- FARCEUR ACE – Made it 2 straight sanctions after faulting in a 2175m Vincennes monté Class D earlier this month. Switches code for Laval debut, is shod to preference, and not incapable of getting in on the action
- FILOU SMILING – Disappointing all winter, most recently last of 9 in a 2700m Vincennes Class D mid-month, and will have nothing to offer
- FELICITA D’ECOUVES – Makes first start since finishing 10th of 13 in a 2100m Vincennes Class D early last month. Has been off the boil over recent months and can be confidently passed over
- GAMIN DES ISLES – Comfortable winner of a 2850m Vincennes Class D a week ago. Does not get a JMB drive this time but form is sure and a repeat is well within his capacity
- HAPPY FACE – Started to come good again early this month when 4th of 18 in a 3000m Chateaubriant Class D. Has nothing to prove in this category and, considering the entry, deserves to be taken very seriously
Summary: GAMIN DES ISLES (14) clearly showed he was back at his best when making short work of a Vincennes Class D last week and has a realistic chance of repeating. Corentin Gourgand will justifiably be keeping a keen eye on the reinvigorated IRINA D’ATOUT (1) however who has turned a corner recently, and the well-engaged HAPPY FACE (15) who excels under these conditions. GALANT DE BRUYERE (9) put on a good show behind Stéphane Bourlier’s horse last week and will be no pushover.

C4 – PRIX ALEXIS JOURDAN – 2850m (a2m) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 21,000 - KISS ME CHERIE – Modest mare that has not been seen since running 8th of 9 in a 2800m Moulins Class F last June and can be confidently disregarded
- KAMYNA DE GUEGUE – Out of the picture in last 4, latterly last of 9 in a 2700m Graignes Class E on Sunday, and will have few friends
- KALYNA DREAM – Pleasant 6th of 16 to KORAYA DE KERLEAN (15) in a 2800m Pontchateau Class F early last month but a repeat seems unlikely
- KOLANTA DU LOISIR – Unraced since finishing last of 11 in a 2050m Divonne Class F last August and has no realistic chance
- KAROLE DU JOUAN – Encouraged at Pontchateau before finishing last but one in a 3000m Nantes monte Class F last week. Cannot be considered a priority but is not to be ruled out either
- KIARA DE LANDEMER – Has not been seen out since faulting in a 2850m Vincennes Class D in April 2023. Is barefoot for first start for new handler but others still easier to back
- KATIA TURGOT – Unexceptional mare making first appearance since finishing last of 9 in a 2750m Nimes Class F last November and would be preferred racing right-handed
- KA LULU DE COSSE – Sanctioned in last 4, most recently a 2900m Challans Class F 2.5 weeks ago, and appears to to have her work cut out
- KINA FOUTEAU – 4th of 12 finishers in a 3125m Angers Class F on 25 January. Has been knocking at the door lately and from the front row can make this her own
- KACHA DE L’ITON – Has not been seen out since finishing last of 10 in a 2625m Cherbourg Class E last October. Shoes on for comeback and not a concern
- KONTRASTA – Steps up in category after running 4th of 9 finishers in a 2625m Cherbourg Class F 11 days ago. Shoes on this time, enjoys a good entry in front, and must be taken seriously
- KIA BLUE – Not disgraced when 6th of 8 finishers in a Class E over track and trip 3 weeks ago. Would be preferred barefoot but from the front line can still get a look-in
- KOHANA – Lost her action in a 2850m Maure-de-Bretagne Class E last Sunday. Has no particular love for Laval and in this company will have too much to do
- KELOMA DREAM – 8th of 10 in a 2175m Vincennes Class E late last month despite losing ground early, but can play a leading role if Laurent-Michel David gets her off on the right foot
- KORAYA DE KERLEAN – Left a good impression when 7th of 13 in a Class E over course and distance mid-month, and with shoes off this time can make a big impact
- KALISKA DE FORGAN – Never-dangerous 6th of 7 in a 2100m Vincennes Class E last week. Will be fully-fit by now, placed on lone start here, and looks a decent first-5 chance
- KIVAOA DU PERCHE – 4th of 12 finishers in a 2875m Argentan Class E 3 weeks ago. Just 140 Euros from elimination and will not be sent out at 182/1 this time
Summary: Although seen more often than not racing clockwise, KINA FOUTEAU (9) nevertheless enjoys decent left-handed references, is clearly close to her race, and the engagement of Franck Nivard will only enhance her already good prospects. That being said, KELOMA DREAM (14) raced better in Paris last month than the result would suggest and even from the second row still looks a serious proposition. KORAYA DE KERLEAN (15) joins her on the back line but is first-time barefoot and should not be underestimated. KIVAOA DU PERCHE (17) enjoys a superb entry and a repeat of her Argentan performance would see her compete for a place in the frame.

C5 – PRIX JEUNE ORANGE – 2850m (a2m) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 21,000 - LADY DE LA NOE – Got off the mark in a 2575m Saint-Brieuc Class G on 24 January. Will be pitted against better this time and racing shod will do her no favours
- LIYAVA – Showed her form after being sanctioned in a 2700m Graignes Class E 2 weeks ago. Is confirmed under these conditions and, if focused, can play a leading part
- LELIZIA – Sanctioned in last 2, most recently a 2700m Graignes Class E a fortnight ago. Not devoid of ability but others easier to trust
- LUDMILLA HAUFOR – Unlucky 9th of 12 finishers in a 2200m Vincennes Class E 9 days ago. Padded as she was here in December and must be considered a contender
- LOVE ME BECO – Starts for first time since running 7th of 9 in a 2700m Vincennes Class E on 6 December. Is not without merit but may need the race
- LOUISIANE PARIS – Looked a different horse on re-entry 3 weeks ago, coming 2nd of 8 finishers in a Class F over course and distance. Takes on marginally better this time but with form maintained, can make first 5
- LADY DAY – Progressive type making first appearance since coming 3rd of 16 in a 2150m Enghien Class E 5 months ago. Has bags of ability though and it would be no surprise to see her getting in on the action
- LADY D’IDEF – Failed to confirm good Cordemais performance when sanctioned in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class E a month back. Is a quality element in this category though and must be taken seriously
- LINE MAJYC – 7th of 9 finishers in a 2875m Argentan Class E on 16 February and would be preferred in the other discipline
- LOMBARDINA – Has returned from her spell in fine shape, latterly 3rd of 10 in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class E a month ago. Enjoys a terrific entry and has a decent chance of opening her 2025 account
- LARA MAKS – Imposed at Argentan before running 10th of 12 finishers, a place behind LUDMILLA HAUFOR (4), in a 2200m Vincennes Class E 9 days ago. Shoes off this time but others still easier to back
Summary: A rather open affair but it is nevertheless difficult to ignore the consistently-improving LOMBARDINA (10) who races barefoot for the first time. Runner-up here in December and latterly very unlucky in Paris, LUDMILLA HAUFOR (4) is fitted with pads for the occasion and, with more luck in running, can finally lose her maiden status. LIYAVA (2) has climbed the category-ladder in good order and Tony Le Beller can be confident of a big run. LADY D’IDEF (8) should not be too hastily-judged for her recent blunder and can be backed with confidence this time.

- LIVING STAR – Steps up in category after running 4th of 9 finishers in a 2700m Graignes Class F last Sunday. Cannot be regarded a leading player but on good behaviour can pick up some more prizemoney
- LYRIC – Last but one in a 3000m Nantes harness Class E last Saturday. Competitively-shod, with Anthony Barrier in the irons, but nevertheless faces a very stiff test
- LORD PARKER – 9th of 13 when preparing for this in a 2800m Argentan harness Class F 3 weeks ago. Is confirmed here and the engagement of Victor Saussaye will only work in his favour. Place chance

- LIEGO – Makes just 2nd appearance in the discipline after coming 6th of 13 in a harness Class E over course and distance 12 days ago. Shoes on and no threat
- LORD DU GUELIER – Sanctioned on re-entry mid-month in a 2875m Argentan harness Class E. Boasts decent references under these conditions and will be supported accordingly. Place prospect
- LEWIS D’EVEL – Honest type that ran 4th of 7 finishers in a 2175m Vincennes Class E 3 weeks ago. Has ground to make up though and would be preferred a level down
- LAKANA DE FELLIERE – Authoritative winner at Chateaubriant before running 2nd of 10 in a 2625m Class E at Paray-le-Monial on 16 February. Has excelled with Lilian Bertin and has a realistic claim on the silverware
- LILA D’OCTAV – Ran 2nd at Angers late-January prior to winning a 2650m Bordeaux Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Is arguably better racing clockwise but in current form looks good enough to contest the finish
- LIONELA D’ECHAL – Authoritative winner at Chateaubriant before running 2nd of 10 in a 2625m Class E at Paray-le-Monial on 16 February. Shod differently this time, and is up against the colts, but still easy to like for a first-5 cheque
- LUXELLA – Respectable 5th of 8 finishers behind LIONELA D’ECHAL (11) in a 2700m Graignes Class E a fortnight ago. Barefoot again but others still easier to back
Summary: Fillies look to have the advantage here with LAKANA DE FELLIERE (9) an obvious contender given how well she has taken to racing barefoot. She has no left-handed references but has yet to disappoint for her new stable and looks marginally better than LAKANA DE FELLIERE (9) who won for Alexiane Lepage in Bordeaux earlier this month. LORD DU GUELIER (7) will have progressed for his harness return run and, competitively-shod this time, will be no easy touch. Course-and-distance runner-up in early-December, LORD PARKER (4) can finish in the thick of things, provided Victor Saussaye keeps him focused.

C7 – PRIX DU DOUANIER ROUSSEAU – 2850m (a2m) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 17,000 - MALIUM – Qualified in 1’18″7 here on 11 February. Is no superstar in the making and is going to need to find his feet
- MARABOU DODVILLE – Qualified in 1’19″0 at Meslay-du-Maine last June. Takes on a good lot first time out and is not about to cause an upset
- MARVIN D’ALGOT – Held back since qualifying in 1’19″6 at Caen last May and in this category may be taking on too much
- MISTER DUAL – Qualified in 1’18″7 here last July. Services of Paul Ploquin engaged for the occasion and although not an obvious contender, can still pick up a cheque
- MONSIEUR DARLING – Has not been seen out since qualifying in 1’19″9 at Meslay-du-Maine last May. Matthieu Abrivard in the bike and must be respected
- MYRCIA – Sanctioned, on debut, in a 2275m Nantes Class F early last week. Is obviously one to watch for the future and, if focused, can give MAGIC MAN (9) a run for his money
- MOJITO FRAISE – Qualified well here last August but somewhat lacklustre 4th of 6 finishers on debut in a 2625m Cherbourg Class F 11 days ago. Not to be ruled out but still no more than a minor place prospect
- MY DREAM – Did everything right first time out, running 2nd of 12 in a 2700m Machecoul Class F on 2 February. Has big shoes to fill but looks thoroughly up to the task. Chance
- MAGIC MAN – Looked thoroughly professional and full of potential when 2nd of 6 finishers in a 2625m Cherbourg Class F 3.5 weeks ago, first time out. Will have come on for the run and can make this his own
- MISS DISCO – Debuts at Laval after running 7th of 15 in a 2100m Vincennes Class D on 11 February. Has provincial references and will be no easy touch
- MAURICETTE BLUE – In the frame in last 2, latterly 3rd of 13 in a Class F over course and distance mid-month. Is nicely-entered and has a reasonable chance of making first 5
Summary: Held back after qualifying nicely at Le Mans last summer, MAGIC MAN (9) left a very good impression on debut earlier this month and appears to have the wherewithal to win a race of this nature. MYRCIA (6) looked very promising on her Nantes bow, even though sanctioned, and Gregory Thorel would not put her up against the colts without legitimate aspiration. Smartly-bred and clearly a decent future prospect, MY DREAM (8) will be expected to confirm his Machecoul performance. MISS DISCO (10) has yet to confirm her superb qualification but should take well to Laval conditions and can start to come good again.

C8 – PRIX UNE DE MAI – 2850m (a2m) – Class G Amateur Drivers Race – Harness – EUR € 6,000 - IRYSKA LESMELCHEN – Back under harness after running 5th of 13 in a 2625m Cherbourg monté Class G on 16 February. In unexceptional company this time, has been entrusted to François Chapdelaine, and is unlikely to let the side down
- IROISE DES BAULTS – Has not been seen out since finishing 11th of 14 behind GOLD GEDE (6) in a 2800m Vire amateurs Class G 4 months ago and is sure to need the run
- IBISCUS DE L’ITON – Sanctioned in a 2825m Cordemais amateurs Class G early last month. Has been disappointing over recent months and, even though reconfigured, will have nothing to contribute
- INGLORIOUS – Sanctioned when going well in a 2825m Vire amateurs Class G a month ago. Reunited with the driver who won with him at Cordemais and, with application, can do so again
- HORYVIL DES MOYEUX – Excellent since the turn of the year, latterly close 2nd of 11 in a 2850m Mauquenchy amateurs Class G last week, and will not be easy to oppose
- GOLD GEDE – Amateur specialist that ran 6th of 14 in a 2800m Pontchateau Class G on 16 February. Has previously imposed here and, barefoot this time, could pleasantly surprise
- IMZARA VALIERE – Starts for first time since finishing 8th of 14 in a 2725m Cabourg Class F on 19 December and, in this company, will struggle to make her presence felt
- ISARIO VENESI – Makes first appearance since running 6th of 15 in a 2825m Cordemais amateurs Class G mid-December. Is behind in earnings and even with shoes on can trot his way onto the podium
- HEALA CARISAIE – Last but one behind IORIK MARBOULA (11) in a 2825m Vire amateurs Class G a month ago, following 10 months off. Just front shoes on this time but others still preferred
- HARCANGE – 11th of 15, on re-entry, in a 3000m Nantes amateurs Class G early last week. Barefoot this time but others still easier to back
- IORIK MARBOULA – 7th of 13, on return to competition, in a 2825m Vire amateurs Class G a month ago. Races barefoot this time but still not an obvious choice
- HISTOIRE DE LIERRE – Showed her form when victorious over track and trip early-December. Has not been seen since but gets on well with Quentin Champenois and can defy the penalty
- IMOKO DU BOUILLON – Placed in a claimer before running 4th of 12 in a 2850m Vincennes amateurs Class G last week. On back line again but races shod this time and others preferred
- GERGOVIE QUESNOT – Has not been seen out since running 8th of 14 behind HARCANGE (10) in a 2725m Pornichet amateurs Class F late-October. Fine servant at this level though and even racing shod can still play a role
- FURY D’EVEL – 6th to INGLORIOUS (4) at Cordemais prior to coming 7th of 15 in a 2575m Saint-Brieuc amateurs Class G 3.5 weeks ago and is unlikely to shake things up
- GRACE DE MAI – Raced better in a 2850m Vincennes amateurs Class G last week than her 6th of 12 would suggest. Could not have asked for a better entry and must be considered a first-5 possible
Summary: An excellent servant in the amateur category, INGLORIOUS (4) won well at Cordemais before running out of luck at Vire, but can get back in the winners’ enclosure if Daniel Grimault keeps him focused. He can still expect to meet considerable opposition though from the revitalised HORYVIL DES MOYEUX (5) who missed out by the smallest of margins at Mauquenchy last week, and second-row starter HISTOIRE DE LIERRE (12) who was sent for a spell after imposing under these conditions. ISARIO VENESI (8) will also be fresh and, while preferred barefoot, must still be considered a player.
