R1 VINCENNES [L-H]

C1 – PRIX D’ARGENTON-SUR-CREUSE – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class C Race – Harness – EUR € 46,000

  1. FARAMIR AS – Good, consistent colt making French debut after running 3rd of 11 over 2100m in Naples 3 weeks ago. Forced to start on the rail but in the hands of his new driver will not be far off the mark
  2. LE METEQUE – Returns to racing with pads after coming 5th of 8 finishers in a 2925m Cagnes Gr.3 mid-February. Has ample ability but would be preferred a level down
  3. LINARO – Made up for January blip when 2nd of 8 finishers in a Class D over course and distance on 7 February. Handed an excellent spot on front row and will be competitive for a place on the podium
  4. LINDSTEDT – Wonderfully-engaged on front row but sanctioned in a 2175m Class C here 3 weeks ago and even though sporting a new formula is unlikely to shake things up
  5. FRANKIE BAR – Drops in category after running 6th of 11, a place behind OVER THE LIGHT AS (12), in a 2700m Class B here a month ago. Enjoys a very good entry and Franck Nivard is unlikely to let the opportunity pass him by. First 5
  6. LORD FROMENTRO – Has enjoyed something of a resurgence over recent months, latterly dominating a Class D over course and distance, and will take all the beating
  7. LITTLE DRAGON – Sports a fresh configuration after faulting in a 2700m monté Class C here on 12 January and in current condition will be difficult to recommend
  8. FUTURO D’AMORE – Won over a mile in Florence 2 weeks ago. Shoes off for French bow but finds himself in better company and the draw will not aid his plight
  9. LE MAC – Useful type making first appearance since faulting in a 2175m Class B here last November and will need the run
  10. FOLLETOCAR – Tricky character that could finish no closer than 6th of 14 behind FERGUS DEL RONCO (13) in a 2850m Class D here on 28 January. Handed a tough draw and is unlikely to cause an upset
  11. FLAMENCO FER – Made it 2 straight victories when successful over 2600m in Naples late-January. Takes on a better lot this time, breaks from the 2nd row, but can still play a part
  12. OVER THE LIGHT AS – Showed improvement when 5th of 11 in a 2700m Class B here on 2 February. Drops down the category-ladder but the draw will do him no favours
  13. FERGUS DEL RONCO – Fine Italian colt that ran 3rd of 14, on French debut, in a 2850m Class D here on 28 January. Has had time to recuperate and, sporting a new configuration, must be considered a leading contender
  14. FAST FURIOUS COL – 8th of 11 behind OVER THE LIGHT AS (12) in a 2700m Class B here a month ago. Races barefoot this time but others still easier to back
  15. LUCIFER DU CAIEU – Imposed over 2175m early-February before running 3rd of 10 in a 2700m Class D here 2 weeks ago. Unfavourably-drawn but with JMB in the bike should not be underestimated
  16. FORCE OF NATURE – Facile winner of a 2700m Class D on Vincennes debut on 23 January. Benjamin Rochard would have preferred a better draw but will not be far off the mark if he can position his colt early
Summary: LORD FROMENTRO (6) pulled off the first hat-trick of his career when easily winning under these conditions recently. He races first-time barefoot and is sufficiently well-positioned to keep the victory train rolling. Clément Duvaldestin will still want to be wary of the less-favourably-drawn, but reconfigured, Italian import, FERGUS DEL RONCO (13) who left a good impression on his late-January French debut, and the better-placed LINARO (3) who gave a reassuring account here early last month. FARAMIR AS (1) is competitively-shod for his Vincennes debut and with Yoann Lebourgeois reining is unlikely to disappoint.
    SELECTIONS
    LORD FROMENTRO (6) – FERGUS DEL RONCO (13) – LINARO (3) – FARAMIR AS (1)
    C2 – PRIX DE CHAMPTOCE – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 59,000
  17. HYDROMEL – Last of 11 in a 2925m Cagnes Class D late-January. Has been off the boil all winter and, even racing barefoot, can be ruled out
  18. FAVICI PASMARICK – 9th of 16 behind GIBALDI DE HOUELLE (4) in a 2850m Class D here 9 days ago. Goes barefoot this time but still not easy to like
  19. HEUREUX DE BOUERE – Out of first 5 just once in last 7 starts, most recently 5th of 16 behind HERMES D’ECROVILLE (5) in a 3000m Nantes Class E on 26 January. Could not have asked for a better draw and Sébastien Poilane will be eager to capitalise
  20. GIBALDI DE HOUELLE – Reassuring, and surprising, 3rd of 16 in a 2850m Class D here 9 days ago. Is unlikely to repeat but has been handed the plum draw and, with form maintained, can finish in the mix
  21. HERMES D’ECROVILLE – Placed twice at Nantes before running a pleasant 10th of 16 in a Class D over track and trip on 6 February, and with more luck in running can get a look-in
  22. HELENCIO – Capable type but has not been seen out since running 8th of 13 in a 2875m Enghien Class D last October and will need the race
  23. HELENA GIRL – Back under harness after running 5th of 12 in a 2700m monte Class D here a fortnight ago. Boasts fine references over course and distance and should not be overlooked
  24. HADRIEN – Left a fine impression in a Class D over course and distance on 6 February before being sanctioned. Yoann Lebourgeois in the bike this time and can make a big splash if his charge stays trotting
  25. GALIA SOTHO – 4th of 13 in a 2700m Class D here on 2 February but is unfavourably-drawn and will struggle to repeat
  26. FLAMBEUR DU DIGEON – Won over course and distance early-December. Latterly 10th of 11 finishers behind HETRE D’OURVILLE (13) when preparing for this in a 2850m Laval Class D 2 weeks ago. Barefoot this time and has the wherewithal to make first 5
  27. GIANA DE MARZY – 11th of 16 behind GIBALDI DE HOUELLE (4) in a 2850m Class D here 9 days ago. Not ideally-drawn but has nothing to prove in this category and can set the cat among the pigeons
  28. HIT DE JOBI – 7th of 13 in a Class E under these conditions 2.5 weeks ago but, in this company, has no possible chance
  29. HETRE D’OURVILLE – Solid as a rock in 4 of last 5, latterly 5th of 11 finishers in a 2850m Laval Class D a fortnight ago. Was by no means disgraced that day and will have a lot to contribute if Pierre Houel can get position early
  30. FABULEUX PIYA – 6th of 14, on return from a spell, in a 2725m Graignes Class E on 13 February and will have few friends
  31. HORIZON D’EYMY – Imposed over course and distance before running 2nd of 10 in a Class D under similar conditions early last month. Poorly-drawn but his class can make all the difference. Claim
Summary: Surprisingly unsure of stride when running in for a cheque here early last month, HADRIEN (8) has hind shoes fitted this time and will be expected to put things right. He will still be up against the prolific HORIZON D’EYMY (15) even though Kristof Depuydt will be first forced to successfully navigate the break, and fellow back-row starter HETRE D’OURVILLE (13) who is plainly close to his race. GIANA DE MARZY (11) has solid references under these conditions and will be barefoot for the occasion.
    SELECTIONS
    HADRIEN (8) – HORIZON D’EYMY (15) – HETRE D’OURVILLE (13) – GIANA DE MARZY (11)
    C3 – PRIX DE GUER-COETQUIDAN – 2850m (a2m) – Class B Race – Harness – EUR € 52,000
  32. QUEEN OF PARIS – Last but one in 4 February race of reference. Hind shoes off this time but still not a concern
  33. FRANCESINA ORS – 9th of 10 finishers behind BOURBONISTA (3) in a 2700m Class D here 12 days ago and can expect to have few takers
  34. BOURBONISTA – Steps up in category after running 3rd of 10 finishers in a 2700m Class D here 12 days ago but in this company looks to have her work cut out
  35. FAST EQUOS JET – Pleasant 3rd of 10 to LUNA PARK (13) in a 2700m Class B here early last month, first time at the venue. Will have found her feet and, if applied, can play a small part
  36. LONG LEGEND – Solid 3rd of 7 finishers in a 2700m Class B here last Sunday. Is not about to spring a surprise but is no slouch when focused and will generate some interest
  37. KEEN LADY JOSSELYN – Serious filly making first start since trouncing the opposition over 2060m at Skive in early-November. Will have no issues with the new trip and has the class to impose on French debut
  38. LIBERTE DU GOUTIER – Held back since faulting early in a 2100m Class B here on 20 January. Has been afforded time to recalibrate, has also been reconfigured, and while not a contender, must not be ruled out either
  39. LUTELLIA MONNERIE – Never threatening when disqualified in a 2700m Class A here late-January. Takes a dip in category and will have her supporters
  40. LUTECE JISCE – Dynamic winner here on 6 January but failed to confirm when last of 10 finishers in a 2700m Class A here 3 weeks later. Is plainly a horse of considerable talent and can give KEEN LADY JOSSELYN (6) a run for her money
  41. LILY MARGOT – Ran close 2nd of 8 in a 2175m Class C on 11 February. Also went close on lone association with Yoann Lebourgeois and must be taken seriously
  42. L’ETOILE – Produced a brace of good efforts before faulting in a 2700m Class A here on 26 January. Is in her category, sports a new configuration, and will be competitive for a first-5 payout
  43. LARIFLETTE – Takes a notable step up in class after winning a 2850m claimer over short course here 3 weeks ago and will struggle to make her presence felt
  44. LUNA PARK – Dominant winner of a 2700m Class B here early last month. Returns to the venue with morale intact and has a realistic chance of repeating
  45. LISSANDRA JIEL – Put December sanction behind her when runner-up to LUNA PARK (13) in a 2700m Class B here on 4 January. Showed great tenacity that day and, if focused, can again figure prominently
Summary: Wonderfully-consistent since her first steps on the track, KEEN LADY JOSSELYN (6) may not have graced a racecourse since November but she runs first-time barefoot on her Vincennes debut and can make this her own. Matthieu Abrivard will still want to be keeping a keen eye on LUTECE JISCE (9) who should not be too hastily-condemned for her late-January clinker, and LUNA PARK (13) who impressed when opening her Vincennes account 3.5 weeks ago. Solid here recently, LILY MARGOT (10) will be more competitively shod this time and winning this is not beyond her reach.
    SELECTIONS
    KEEN LADY JOSSELYN (6) – LUTECE JISCE (9) – LUNA PARK (13) – LILY MARGOT (10)
    C4 – PRIX DE SELECTION – PRIX FACE TIME BOURBON – 2200m (a1m1/2) – Gr1 Race – Harness – EUR € 240,000
  46. LEWIS RIVER – Good 4th of 12 in 2100m Gr.2 Prix Ephrem Houel here on 8 February. Has never been tested at this level but has ample untapped potential and can get a look-in
  47. LONDON – Sanctioned when going well in Prix Ourasi before coming 5th of 10 finishers, a place behind LEWIS RIVER (1), in 2100m Gr.2 Prix Ephrem Houel here on 8 February. Enjoys a front-row break and looks main threat to her stablemate
  48. LIGHT MY FIRE – Encouraging 2nd of 13 in a 2850m Gr.3 here a fortnight back. Has never delivered at this level however, and even though reconfigured, still represents no more than an outside chance
  49. LUCKY JACKSON – Unthreatening 7th of 10 finishers behind LEWIS RIVER (1) in 2100m Gr.2 Prix Ephrem Houel here on 8 February. JMB believes in him though and should be taken seriously
  50. LOTTA BOURBON – Sanctioned in last 2, latterly 2100m Gr.2 Prix Ephrem Houel here 3 weeks ago. Somewhat out of sorts this winter and, reconfigured or not, will have too much to do
  51. LOULOU DE MYE – Last but one in Gr.1 Prix Ourasi late-January before coming 6th of 12 behind LEWIS RIVER (1) in 2100m Gr.2 Prix Ephrem Houel here 3 weeks ago. Is useful on a good day and starts in front but has a lot more to find
  52. KEEP YOUR DREAMS – Unlucky in last 2, latterly 9th of 16 in a 2100m Class B here 11 days ago. Is better than that but still cannot be considered more than a minor place prospect
  53. KNOCKONWOOD – Has not been seen out since faulting over a mile in Treviso last October. Shoes on and no threat
  54. KHAL’S FELLA – Ran 6th in Gr.2 Prix de Croix before finishing 14th of 18 behind KSAR in 2700m Gr.1 Prix Bold Eagle on 25 January. Should not be too hastily-judged though, has good speed and will be entrusted to Sébastien Ernault. First 5
  55. KIARA DE VANDEL – Respectable 6th of 10 behind KSAR (13) in 2700m Gr.2 Prix Ovide Moulinet here 3 weeks ago. Can prove a handful but is barefoot for the occasion and, with her mind on the game, will be no pushover
  56. JABALPUR – Made it 4 on the trot when decisively winning a 2700m Gr.3 here on 19 January. Showed great authority that day and must not be underestimated
  57. KRISTAL JOSSELYN – 13th of 18 in Prix Bold Eagle prior to being sanctioned in 2700m Gr.2 Prix Ovide Moulinet here 3 weeks ago. Excels over 2175m here and even though incurring the penalty this time, he is shod to preference and will be competitive for a cheque
  58. KSAR – Disappointing in Gr.1 Prix Bold Eagle before coming respectable 4th of 10 in 2700m Gr.2 Prix Ovide Moulinet here 3 weeks ago. Goes barefoot this time and, with application, can make a big impact
  59. KEEP GOING – Fine winner of Gr.1 Critérium Continental before running 12th of 18 in 2700m Prix d’Amérique here late-January. Reunited with Eric Raffin who won the Critérium des 4 Ans with him and looks every part the horse to beat
Summary: Winner of the Critérium des 4 Ans and the Critérium Continental, KEEP GOING (14) is the standard-bearer of his generation and, in less-exalted company this time, should have the race in the bag. Stablemate LONDON (2), though, has not been the luckiest lately but is 25m better off and will be barefoot for the occasion. Also barefoot this time, KSAR (13) is very much at home under these conditions and Matthieu Abrivard will be intent on making up for last year’s sanction. JABALPUR (11) has earned the right to race in this class and while clearly taking a big step up, still looks capable of finishing close. KIARA DE VANDEL (10) is never easy to gauge but, she races barefoot for the first time, and it is worth remembering she ran 2nd in the Gr.1 Grand Prix de l’UET during the autumn.
    SELECTIONS
    KEEP GOING (14) – LONDON (2) – KSAR (13) – JABALPUR (11)
    C5 – PRIX HENRI DESMONTILS – 2850m (a2m) – Gr1 Race – Mounted – EUR € 240,000
  60. JOYEUSE ENTREE – 3rd of 6 finishers in a 2925m Cagnes Class E on 13 February. Has bags of ability but at this level already looks outclassed
  61. ELEGANCE KRONOS – Made victorious monte debut on 2 February, easily winning a 2175m Class A here. Plainly has ample untapped potential and the Mathieu Mottier factor must not be ignored. First 3 possible
  62. HALFA – Sanctioned when well-supported in a 2850m Lisieux Class B 3 weeks ago. Takes on some elite horses this time and appears to be out of her league
  63. J’AIME LE FOOT – Better than his 9th of 13 finishers in 2700m Gr.1 Prix de Cornulier would suggest. Has been reconfigured, has previously won for Eric Raffin, but chances still limited
  64. I CAN DREAM – Classy mare that made it 2 in a row when easily winning a 2175m Gr.3 here 2 weeks ago. Faces a stiffer test this time but is hard to knock in the day’s configuration and looks competitively well-in
  65. EDITION GEMA – 8th in Cornulier before finishing 7th of 9, a place behind HALFA (3), in a 2850m Gr.2 here on 26 January. Is a Gr.1 winner but has shown few signs of that lately. Minor place chance at best
  66. INA DU RIB – Close 2nd in Prix de Cornulier before dominating 2175m Gr.1 Prix de l’Ile-de-France here on 2 February. Less competitively shod this time but can still confirm
  67. HIRONDELLE DU RIB – Pleasantly-surprising 4th of 8 to INA DU RIB (7) in 2175m Gr.1 Prix de l’Ile-de-France here a month ago. If applied and in similar form is unlikely to disappoint. Place chance
  68. IDEALE DU CHENE – Showed improvement on Cornulier performance when runner-up to INA DU RIB (7) in 2175m Gr.1 Prix de l’Ile-de-France here a month ago. Goes barefoot again and looks capable of making up ground on her. Chance
  69. GRANVILLAISE BLEUE – Consistent mare that ran good 4th of 13 finishers behind INA DU RIB (7) in 2700m Gr.1 Prix de Cornulier on 19 January. Has freshness on her side and is eminently capable of trotting her way into the frame
Summary: After putting on a fine show in the Prix de Cornulier in January, INA DU RIB (7) met no opposition a fortnight later when running away with the Gr.1 Prix de l’Ile-de-France, and even though reconfigured should again have the measure of the fine IDEALE DU CHENE (9) who chased her home that day. GRANVILLAISE BLEUE (10) has not raced since coming 4th in the Cornulier and although unlikely to open her winter account, she can still play a leading role. ELEGANCE KRONOS (2) gave an excellent account here first time in the discipline and appears to have a lot more to give.
    SELECTIONS

    C6 – PRIX DE MONTSOREAU – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class C Race – Harness – EUR € 68,000
  70. CHITCHAT – Steps up in category after clinching a 2100m Class E here 2.5 weeks ago but looks to be out of his depth this time
  71. IN EN VRIE – Reverts to racing with 4 pads after running 12th of 14 in a 2100m Class D here on 6 February and will have nothing to contribute
  72. GAYLORD AM – Picked up 2 weeks ago where he left off 4 months earlier, winning at Eskilstuna, this time over 2640m. Is an honest trotter but appears to have too much to do this time
  73. JIMMY FERRO BR – Failed to confirm his 2850m victory when 4th of 9 finishers in a Class D over track and trip a fortnight ago, but is plainly in fine condition and unlikely to be far off the mark
  74. HISTOIRE MODERNE – Sanctioned in last 3, most recently a 2850m Class D here 3 weeks ago. Returns to racing barefoot but still no more than a minor place chance
  75. HELLO PANAME – Disappointing this winter, most recently 7th of 14 behind FURIOSO FLIGNY (8) in a 2100m Class D here 2 months ago, and can be disregarded
  76. BAHIA DEL CIRCEO – Tricky sort making first appearance since being sanctioned early in a 2850m Class C here last September. Shoes on and no threat
  77. FURIOSO FLIGNY – Did not enjoy the best of runs when last of 12 finishers in a 2850m Class B here late-January. Reverts to a proven formula, has never failed to deliver for JMB, and looks a player
  78. HARMONY DU RABUTIN – Made it 2 on the trot when securing victory in a 2700m Class D at Lyon-La Soie on 30 January. May not pull off the 3-timer but can still challenge for a spot on the podium
  79. IALTO D’HERTALS – Made amends for January sanction when close 2nd of 10 finishers in a 2850m Class D here 3 weeks ago and, if applied, can bring the fight to IALTO D’HERTALS (10)
  80. EDIBEAR – Takes to Vincennes for first time after running 2nd of 9 over 2140m in Kalmar a month back. Shod to preference this time and will be worth monitoring
  81. GREZ – Returns to the harness code after faulting in a 2850m monte Class C here 8 days ago. Is in his category though and must not be overlooked
  82. GAMIN DE MAHEY – Finished 2nd over 2850m early-January but quickly sanctioned 3 weeks later in a Class B, also over 2850m. Reunited with Yoann Lebourgeois though who will be keen to set the record straight. Place prospect
  83. COBRA KILLER GAR – Drops in category after running good 2nd of 13 in a 2100m Gr.3 here on 26 January. Is better than most here and, if firing on all cylinders, will be able to wrap this up
  84. GORDON MIJACK – 2nd in a Class C under these conditions in January before coming flattering 3rd of 11 finishers in a 2850m Vincennes Class C 8 days ago. Takes on some tougher elements this time and chances appear limited
Summary: As prolific as they come and nicely-engaged at the limit of earnings, it is hard to go against COBRA KILLER GAR (14) who was beaten only by a very good horse here late-January. IALTO D’HERTALS (10) is seldom far from faulting but he showed his form here 3 weeks ago and Théo Duvaldestin will be eager to confirm. Sanctioned early a month back, GAMIN DE MAHEY (13) has no particular love for 2700m here but in current form is not easy to ignore. Consistently in the thick of things and returning to Vincennes on a hat-trick, HARMONY DU RABUTIN (9) races barefoot for the first time and must be taken seriously.

  85. LYRIKO BELLO – Hard to fault lately, most recently 2nd of 8 finishers in a 2925m Cagnes Gr.3 on 13 February. Is confirmed over track and trip but may just be taking on too much
  86. LUTIN DE REUX – Easy winner of a 2625m Agen Class B 2 weeks ago. Has placed just once in 4 starts over main track and, even racing barefoot, others still easier to back
  87. LASH PERRINE – 6th of 11 behind LIZZANO D’ALOUETTE (4) in 2850m Gr.3 Prix d’Avignon here late-January and will need to find significantly more
  88. LIZZANO D’ALOUETTE – Took his game up a notch late-January when 2nd of 11 in a 2850m Gr.3 here. Deserves to take his chances and in current form is easy to recommend for a spot in the frame
  89. L’AS DESBOIS – Ran 2nd to LISSANDRO (11) in Gr.3 Prix Bellino II before running 4th to him 2 weeks ago in 2850m Gr.3 Prix d’Orthez here. Unlikely to beat him but has the capacity to make first 3
  90. LOOPING DAY – Made up for Gr.3 Prix d’Enghien performance when 3rd of 6 finishers in Gr.3 Prix d’Avenches over course and distance 11 days ago, but still has more to find
  91. LA STAR ROC – Won 2 in a row before finishing 6th of 11 finishers to LISSANDRO (11) in a 2850m Gr.3 a fortnight ago. Reverts to racing with pads and should not be overlooked
  92. LEARN TO FLY – Twice runner-up here before blundering at the start, subsequently sanctioned, in 16 February race of reference. Fitted with a fresh formula and Eric Raffin will be eager to put things right. First 5
  93. LOUVE DE REVE D’OR – In the frame in last 5, most recently 3rd of 13 to LISSANDRO (11) in a 2850m Gr.3 a fortnight ago. Is plainly close to her race but may have to settle for a minor place cheque this time
  94. LAPIS LAZULI – Was going well when sanctioned in 2850m Gr.3 Prix d’Orthez here a fortnight ago. Has been reconfigured for the occasion and, with application, can apply the pressure on LISSANDRO (11)
  95. LISSANDRO – Has done nothing but improve all winter, latterly dominating 2850m Gr.3 Prix d’Orthez here mid-February, and is unlikely to be thwarted in his bid for 5 in a row
Summary: Unbeaten in all four starts this winter, LISSANDRO (11) made short work of the Gr.3 Prix d’Orthez here a fortnight ago and has every chance of securing the 5-timer. That said, stablemate LAPIS LAZULI (10) ran 4th in the Gr.1 Prix Ourasi before being sanctioned that day and, freshly-configured, looks the main threat. LIZZANO D’ALOUETTE (4) keeps on improving and was not far off winning his first Gr.3 just a month ago. 4th to JMB’s charge mid-February, L’AS DESBOIS (5) is worth taking seriously.

    C8 – PRIX DES CENTAURES – 2200m (a1m1/2) – Gr1 Race – Mounted – EUR € 240,000
  96. LOVELY CHENEVIERE – Unthreatening 4th of 10 in a 2850m Gr.2 here 3 weeks ago. Is being aimed too high this time and even racing first-time barefoot, cannot be considered a priority
  97. LUCKY SIBEY – Surprise 4th in Gr.1 Prix de Vincennes before faulting in a 2700m Gr.3 here on 5 January. Not as sharp as he was last season and, with shoes on, can be passed over
  98. KERRY LOVE – Returns to racing barefoot after finishing last of 15 in a 2100m Class B harness conditioner here 11 days ago. Has solid barefoot 2175m references and even though starting in front, may just be taking on too much
  99. KEENGAME – Sanctioned early, when favourite, in 2700m Gr.2 Prix Paul Bastard here a fortnight ago. Can absolutely trot when focused but the extra 25m will do her no favours
  100. KAVIARISSIME – 2nd of 7 finishers in a 2700m harness Gr.3 here on 19 January after having reassured when 3rd to KALIF LANDIA (10) in Prix Jag De Bellouet. Blows hot and cold but still has the wherewithal to make first 5
  101. JUNE – 9th of 12 when preparing for this in a 2850m harness Gr.3 here on 9 February. Boasts a good record under these conditions and even from the 2nd line can contest the finish
  102. KAYA DREAM – Sanctioned in last 3 ridden starts, most recently 2700m Gr.2 Prix Paul Bastard here 2 weeks ago. Has merit though and could spice things up mid-division
  103. JEEGHA PRIDE – Comfortably won 2100m Gr.3 Prix Helen Johansson here on 26 January before being disqualified for interference. Has crossed swords with a number of these and will have a lot to offer if Alexandre Abrivard keeps her out of trouble
  104. KAPAULA DE L’EPINE – Failed to confirm good Prix Camille Blaisot 4th when sanctioned in 2700m Gr.2 Prix Paul Bastard here a fortnight ago. Ran 2nd in Prix Jag De Bellouet though and will have her supporters
  105. KALIF LANDIA – 15th of 18 in 2700m harness Gr.1 Prix Bold Eagle when being conditioned here on 25 January. Was simply superb last time under the saddle and, a tough nut to crack in the day’s configuration, can impose
  106. KYT KAT – Made it 2 Gr.2’s on the trot when dominating 2700m Prix Paul Bastard here a fortnight ago. Won Gr.1 Prix des Elites over course and distance last autumn and could yet win this if Eric Raffin keeps him focused
  107. JEAN BALTHAZAR – 6th in Prix de Cornulier before securing 3rd of 9 in 2175m Gr.1 Prix de l’Ile-de-France here on 2 February. Has not got his nose in front for over a year but is as honest as they come and will be no easy touch
Summary: A thriller of a race in prospect here with the pressure back on KALIF LANDIA (10) who will be expected to confirm his authoritative Gr.1 Prix Jag de Bellouet victory. Sanctioned that day when clear favourite, KYT KAT (11) has twice since reassured and should again lay a leading role, however he may first have to defer to the classy JUNE (6) who will be barefoot and fresh for her return to the discipline. Gr.2 winner last time under these conditions, and barefoot for the occasion, JEEGHA PRIDE (8) appreciates these shorter trips and showed her form last time out.

  108. L’AMOURPOURBLANCA – 6th of 10 finishers in a Gr.1 Prix Ourasi late-January. Will not be sent out at 213/1 this time but cannot be considered a concern either
  109. ENCIERRO (ITY) – 6th of 18 behind EAST ASIA (6) in Gr.1 Prix Bold Eagle over course and distance on 25 January, however a repeat seems improbable
  110. JAZZMAN DEBAILLEUL – Has not been seen out since running 4th of 12 in a Gr.1 over course and distance on 22 December. Comes here fresh though, shod to preference, and with a good hand to play
  111. CASH BANK BIGI – Unremarkable 5th of 11 in a 2100m Class A here 3 weeks ago and looks out of her depth
  112. HANNIBAL TUILERIE – 2nd to INO DU LUPIN (9) in Gr.3 Prix du Forez before running 3rd of 11 in a 2850m ridden Gr.2 here on 26 January and looks a respectable first-5 prospect
  113. EAST ASIA – Takes on some battle-hardened horses after running 2nd of 18 in Gr.1 Prix Bold Eagle over course and distance on 25 January, but is a tough nut herself and must be taken seriously
  114. JUNINHO DRY – Disappointing in last 2, latterly 7th of 14 to INEXESS BLEU (10) in 2100m Gr.3 Prix du Luxembourg on 25 January. Is not devoid of ability though and should not be written off
  115. FACE TIME – 5th of 14 to INEXESS BLEU (10) 2100m Gr.3 Prix du Luxembourg on 25 January. Not as sharp as he was last winter but class is not in question and he is unlikely to go home empty-handed
  116. INO DU LUPIN – Confirmed Bordeaux victory when confirming in Gr.3 Prix du Forez over track and trip on 11 January. Simply excels under these conditions and has a realistic chance of bringing home the bacon
  117. INEXESS BLEU – Has enjoyed something of a resurgence this winter, latterly winning 2100m Gr.3 Prix du Luxembourg in style on 25 January, and with form maintained, can repeat
Summary: Simply majestic all winter, INEXESS BLEU (10) was a most impressive winner of the tough Gr.3 Prix du Luxembourg here late-January and pulling off the 5-timer is well within his capacity. Alexandre Abrivard will still have one eye on INO DU LUPIN (9) who showed great tenacity to win the Gr.3 Prix du Forez, and EAST ASIA (6) who has twice run 2nd at Gr.1 level recently and who can give her elders something to consider. JAZZMAN DEBAILLEUL (3) consistently gives everything he has, reverts to a proven formula, and his recent Gr.1 Prix Ténor de Baune performance did not go unnoticed.

  118. LUNA DE MALAC – Imposed on re-entry before running 2nd of 15 in a 2175m Class D here 11 days ago. Has never disappointed for Mathieu Mottier, sports a new configuration, and even from the 1-spot looks competitive for a place finish
  119. LOVELY JENILOU – Winner of a Class D over course and distance a fortnight ago. Takes on a better lot this time but is clearly in shape and could pleasantly surprise
  120. FANTASTIC GIO – Makes Vincennes debut not having raced since winning over a mile at San Siro late-November. Alessandro Gocciadoro could not have wished for a better entry and has every chance of making hay. Claim
  121. LEA D’ATOUT – Ran 3rd over 2850m before faulting in a 2175m Class C here 2.5 weeks ago. Finds herself ideally-placed behind the car though and should not be ruled out
  122. FLORES DE CAMPO – Will have come on for his relatively easy 4th of 10 finishers behind FINLANDIA TOR (15) in a 2700m Class D here 12 days ago. Handed a superb draw and her driver will be confident of a big run
  123. LOLITA TURGOT – Has not been seen out since being pulled-up in a 2600m Cherbourg Class B late-September. Barefoot for first time but will still need the race
  124. LATINA QUICK – Pleased here a month ago, a fortnight prior to coming 5th of 10 finishers behind FINLANDIA TOR (15) in a 2700m Class D here. Handed a tricky draw and not an obvious choice this time
  125. LADY DU CHENE – Drops in category after having been sanctioned in a 2700m Class B here 3.5 weeks ago. Breaks wide but returns to a proven formula and still merits respect
  126. LIBERTY PAT – 2nd of 12 in a Class D over course and distance 3 weeks ago. Not ideally-drawn here but still looks thoroughly capable of contesting the finish
  127. FRECCIA – Showed improvement when 6th of 10 finishers behind FINLANDIA TOR (15) in a 2700m Class D here 12 days ago but still has more to find
  128. LYRA POTERIE – Makes first start since faulting in a 2700m Class D here on 6 January. Reconfigured for the occasion but still not easy to like
  129. LOUBIANA DU BOURG – Has turned a corner this winter, most recently running 4th of 12 behind LIBERTY PAT (9) in a Class D over course and distance 3 weeks ago. Forced to start on back line this time however and others easier to back
  130. FANNY BREED – Sanctioned in 3 of last 4, latterly 17 February race of reference, and even going barefoot still has too much to do
  131. FORTANA SI – Unraced since running 2nd of 6 over 1660m in Bologna on 6 January. Sports a new configuration but the draw will do her no favours
  132. FINLANDIA TOR – Gave a reassuringly-good account when 2nd of 10 finishers in a 2700m Class D here on 17 February. A repeat seems unlikely but can still trot her way into the money
  133. FLAVIA BROS – Sanctioned early in a 2700m Class D here on 17 February. Will be helped by the mobile start, not by the draw, and will be dangerous if she gets a good trip
Summary: Full-sister to a certain Golden Gio, FANTASTIC GIO (3) may not have been seen out for 3 months but she is a good class of filly, with a favourable draw, and looks a marginally better bet than LIBERTY PAT (9) whose February performance augurs well for her chances. Winner of 2 at San Siro before pleasing here in spite of traffic problems recently, FLORES DE CAMPO (5) has kept JMB’s interest and the draw will only work to her advantage. FLAVIA BROS (16) made her mark here in January and, despite a tough draw, can again finish in the mix if Alexandre Abrivard gets her off on the right foot.

She was placed over hurdles before that and did win over 2400m at Saint-Cloud on the flat back in 2021. CLICCLIC PANPANPAN (4) was a creditable fourth at Deauville early last month and can make the selection work hard. 28. KUPALA – Four unplaced runs of late, the latter over 2150m at Lyon La Soie in a Class 4 race on December 8th. Others make more appeal
  29. LADY VALOU – Three unplaced runs recently, 4th before that over 2000m at Vichy in a Class 4 handicap on July 15th. Opposable

NATIVE PEARL (3) has been fifth on her last two runs and can have a say in proceedings. REINE DE BAVIERE (4) has only run twice and was a decent third at Marseille Borely in May last year. 49. HELSINKOEUR – She has several unplaced runs of late, on the flat and one of them over hurdles. She will need to shape better than her last run on this track on February 16th over 1600m to score but has a place chance
  50. CIAO MA – Ran well two runs back when 4th over 2400m at Cagnes-Sur-Mer on January 30th. One to take seriously
  51. KAPYRHON – Unplaced over hurdles last time out, 4th before that over 3500m in a claiming hurdle on October 16th at Royan. Flat debut and will find this difficult
