C1 – PRIX DE CAMBES – 2200m (a1m1/2) – Class G Amateur Drivers Race – Harness – EUR € 6,000

  1. ILLUMINATOR – Takes first steps in amateur division not having raced since being sanctioned in a 2150m Mauquenchy Class E last September. Appreciates Caen, runs barefoot this time, but still no more than a minor place prospect
  2. ISA DU PRESSOIR – Unraced since running 5th of 16 in a 2725m Lisieux amateurs Class G last September. Has already won for Margot Trihollet and will be expected to play a leading role
  3. INCOGNITO DE LOU – Has not been seen out since finishing last of 13 in a 2400m Amiens Class F mid-November. Has nothing to prove at this level, sports a new formula, and from the 3-spot will have a lot to offer
  4. HARTEFAX – Back in the category after finishing last of 14, on return to competition, in a 2900m Challans Class G 11 days ago. Handed a top draw and, barefoot for the occasion, looks a decent first-5 chance
  5. HOBBY DU LOISIR – 14th of 18 behind GOLDORACK DU BOIS (10) in a 2675m Class F at Le Mont-Saint-Michel on 9 March. Competitively shod this time but would be preferred in the claiming category
  6. INCROYABLE MORGAN – Has not been seen out since winning a 2825m ridden Class G at Le Croise-Laroche on 2 December. Shoes on and no threat
  7. ILDO DU VIVIER – Well-beaten 6th of 7 finishers behind INSTIGATEUR (16) in a 2850m Mauquenchy amateurs Class G on 25 February. Barefoot for Caen debut but still not an obvious choice
  8. HEROINE DARCHE – Returns to the harness code after running 6th of 7 in a 2550m Reims monte Class G last weekend and the draw just adds insult to injury
  9. ITALIANO – 6th of 8 finishers in a 2700m amateurs Class G at Le Croise-Laroche 12 days ago. Has evident ability but races shod this time and best to hold off
  10. GOLDORACK DU BOIS – Drops in category after running 7th of 18 in a 2675m Class F at Le Mont-Saint-Michel on 9 March. Has hardly put a foot wrong all winter and can wrap this up
  11. HURRICANE STEED – Disappointing in 3 starts since winning at Argentan in December, most recently 7th of 10 in a 2900m Amiens amateurs Class F a fortnight ago and even though reconfigured, is unlikely to stir things up
  12. IN YOU – Failed to confirm good Vire performance when sanctioned in a 2700m Graignes Class E 3.5 weeks ago, and others easier to back
  13. HORS CADRE – Sent for a spell after finishing 10th of 15 in a 2825m Cordemais amateurs Class G mid-December. Starts on back row, sports front pads for first time, but can still play a small part
  14. INCOGNITO – Sanctioned when going strong in a 2900m Amiens amateurs Class G a month ago. Sports front pads for the occasion and can challenge for the win if Matthieu Corbin successfully navigates the start
  15. HEGA DES LANDIERS – Returns to racing barefoot after finishing 13th of 14 in a 2675m Lisieux Class F conditioner last Saturday. Jean-Luc Gadois would have preferred a better draw but she has been solid in 2 of last 3 amateur runs and must be taken seriously
  16. INSTIGATEUR – Well-beaten 2nd of 10 in a 2850m Mauquenchy amateurs Class G on 25 February. Handed a shocking draw but appreciates Caen and with hind shoes off will be no pushover
Summary: Seldom disappointing in the amateur division, GOLDORACK DU BOIS (10) has won twice already this year and returns to the category with every chance of securing a third success. He will still come up against the tough and reconfigured INCOGNITO (14) who showed his form at Amiens last month, and the better-situated ISA DU PRESSOIR (2) who races barefoot for her return from a lengthy layoff. INSTIGATEUR (16) was last in the draw ‘queue’ but races unshod-behind at a track he appreciates.

    C2 – PRIX D’AMFREVILLE – 2450m (a1m1/2) – Class F Race – Mounted – EUR € 18,500
  17. MAGIC MAESTRO – Looked very ordinary in qualification here last October when posting 1’20″5 and is unlikely to generate much interest
  18. MARIUS DU CLOS – Unexceptional 1’19″8 in qualification here last autumn. Has had time to mature but not easy to recommend first time out
  19. MONARK DE BELLOUET – Qualified in 1’18″2 under the saddle here a month ago. Looks an interesting future prospect and should be able to give this a good go. First 5
  20. MERCATO D’OLIVERIE – Sanctioned on debut in a 2300m harness Class F at Argentan on 16 February. Should take well to new discipline and with Guillaume Martin in the irons, will be afforded every chance
  21. MIL REEF – 9th of 10 behind MOJITO D’AXEL (11) in a harness Class F under these conditions on 3 March and will struggle to make his mark
  22. MONTANA WOOD – Sanctioned in all 3 to date, latterly a 2550m Reims Class F on re-entry 2.5 weeks ago. Talented jockey in the irons here and, with application, will be a serious proposition
  23. MISTRAL KERYANN – 6th of 9 in a 2425m Angers harness Class F on 29 January. Looks a decent monte prospect and Benjamin Rochard can expect to make the frame this time
  24. MERCANTOUR – Indisciplined before being sanctioned in a 2250m Enghien Class D a fortnight ago. Is patently capable though and the engagement of Mathieu Mottier should be just what the doctor ordered. Claim
  25. MENDELEIEV – Takes on a less-arduous mission than he did at Enghien 2 weeks ago when last of 6 finishers in a 2250m Class D, and a place on the podium is well within his reach
  26. MAX MESLOIS – Switches code after faulting in a harness Class F over course and distance a week ago. Is not devoid of ability though and can pick up a cheque if focused
  27. MOJITO D’AXEL – Placed at Argentan before coming 7th of 10 finishers in a harness Class F over track and trip 2.5 weeks ago. Théo Peltier gets the nod and will be one to keep an eye on
Summary: Although sanctioned when heavily-backed on his recent ridden bow, MERCANTOUR (8) has been entrusted to Mathieu Mottier this time and can dominate if he keeps his action together. The spirited but promising MONTANA WOOD (6) gets to try his hand under the saddle and Alexis Collette can expect to finish close if his colt behaves. MENDELEIEV (9) will find the this task an easier one and looks a marginally better bet than MISTRAL KERYANN (7) who has not raced since late-January.

  28. MAYENNE COMMAYENNE – Qualified in 1’18″7 at Meslay-du-Maine last June. Has had time to come into herself and will be worth keeping an eye on
  29. MELINA BILOU – Last but one on debut in a 2675m Class F at Le Mont-Saint-Michel 11 days ago and will need to show another side
  30. MISS IBIZA – Unremarkable 9th of 10, first time out, in a Class F over course and distance a fortnight ago and has no realistic chance
  31. MUSCATE – Qualified well here early-February before being sanctioned when never threatening in a Class F over course and distance 2 weeks ago, and can expect to have few takers
  32. MEET AND GREET – 4th of 12 on debut in a 2625m Cherbourg Class F early-November. Comes here fresh with a leading pilot reining and can get straight down to business
  33. MADRAGUE DAIRPET – Ran 3rd of 13, on debut, in a 2675m Class F at Le Mont-Saint-Michel on 9 March. Beaten only by 2 very good horses that day and must be considered a player
  34. MANDRAGORA FLEURY – Well-supported when sanctioned in a 2700m Graignes Class F 3.5 weeks ago. Has merit but still appears to be taking on too much
  35. MELISSA JOSSELYN – Starts for first time after coming good 3rd of 13 in a 2875m Argentan Class F 2 months ago. Has freshness on her side, Matthieu Abrivard in the bike, and has a decent claim on the prize
  36. MEGANE DE CERISY – Capable filly but as tricky as they come. Sanctioned in last 4, latterly a 2750m Cabourg Class D on 23 December. François Lagadeuc in the bike this time but cannot be considered a priority
  37. MISS DISCO – Returns to racing clockwise after coming 5th of 8 finishers in a 2850m Laval Class E 3 weeks ago. No colts to take on this time and should be competitive at the business end of the race
  38. MAYA GERBEHAYE – Left a good impression first time out, running 2nd of 10 in a 2825m Class F at Le Croise-Laroche 12 days ago. Will have come on for the run and has every chance of making the frame once again
  39. MAMZELLE DREAM – Unremarkable filly that ran 6th of 11 in a 2100m Vincennes claimer a month ago and is not about to set off any fireworks
  40. MADINA MESLOISE – Back under harness after faulting in a monte Class E over track and trip a week ago. Unlikely to cause an upset but has the wherewithal to make first 5
Summary: Qualified in 1’16″1 here and well-regarded at home, MEET AND GREET (5) has been off since her November debut but still has a realistic chance of getting off the mark. Yoann Lebourgeois will still want to be wary of MELISSA JOSSELYN (8) who debuted nicely at Argentan 2 months ago, and MAYA GERBEHAYE (11) whose Le Croise-Laroche bow did not go unnoticed. MADRAGUE DAIRPET (6) will have come on for her good debut at Le Mont and Guillaume Martin gets the nod this time.

  41. LUNA DE BELFONDS – Has done nothing but progress lately, most recently running 2nd of 16 in a 2700m Vire Class F early this month but represents more a minor place chance this time
  42. LOREZZA ERA – 4th of 11, on first start for 9 months, in a 2875m Argentan Class E on 16 February. Will have come on for the race, is barefoot for the first time, and the draw will do her chances no disservice
  43. LADY DE VANDEL – Returns to a track she adores after running 8th of 11 in a 2850m Laval Class E conditioner last week. Successful on lone start with François Lagadeuc and is well-positioned to give this a good go. Chance
  44. LICORNVERASPERANZA – Has not been seen out since faulting in a 2875m Enghien Class D last October. Shoes fitted for comeback and will have little to offer
  45. LYMKA PRINCESSE – Gave a fine account at Agen before losing her action in a 2750m Toulouse Class E a fortnight back. Nicely-positioned in front but is being aimed too high
  46. LA FOULE – Promising future prospect that ran 4th of 13 in a Class F over course and distance 2 weeks ago, her first start for 8.5 months. Will have progressed for the run and from front row can impose
  47. LAYLA SONIA – Failed to confirm Mauquenchy performance when sanctioned in a 2550m Reims Class E last Saturday. Form is not in doubt though, sports a fresh configuration and, with some luck in running, can pick up a cheque
  48. LIBERTE CERISE – Races barefoot for first time after running 6th of 12 in a 2800m Pontchateau Class F a fortnight ago. Faces a stiffer test this time and chances limited
  49. LA STAR – Starts for first time since winning a 2450m Class E here last September. Breaks wide on front line and others preferred
  50. LILIE D’OMAHA – Complicated filly that comfortably won a 2275m Nantes Class F mid-February. Has pulled a bad number but is barefoot again, with her handler in the bike, and is not to be underestimated
  51. LEGENDE DES ECUS – Quality element but sanctioned in last 2, most recently a 2875m Argentan Class E on 16 February. Should appreciate Caen profile though and with application will not be far off the mark
  52. LAETITIA MONTVASON – Unseen since completing the double last September, winning a 2550m Dieppe Class E. Forced to break from 2nd row but is unbeaten with Yoann Lebourgeois who will bid to keep that fact relevant
  53. LILOU – Unexceptional so far this year, latterly 6th of 13 behind LA FOULE (6) in a Class F over course and distance 2 weeks ago, and the draw will not help her cause
  54. LILAE D’OSMOZ – Encouraged at Amiens last month before being sanctioned in a 2800m Chartres Class F last Sunday, and backs up shod and with little aspiration
  55. LIPINSKA – Sanctioned in a 2700m Graignes Class F last Sunday. Has been off the boil since November and can be ruled out
  56. LUNE D’OCCAGNES – Pulled-up in a 2700m Graignes Class F on 23 February and quite simply has nothing to contribute
  57. LIBRE SAUTONNE – Got off the mark for the season when securing a 2500m Class G at La Rochelle on 2 March. Handed an unenviable number but Mathieu Mottier was not born yesterday. Chance
  58. LADY DE JANEIRO – Surprise 4th of 12 in a 2400m Amiens Class F on 5 March. Has pulled a shocking number and has no possible chance
Summary: A good lot of fillies here but preference nevertheless goes to the progressive LA FOULE (6) who gave a good account on her re-entry here earlier in the month. Winner of 2 on the trot before being sent for a holiday, LAETITIA MONTVASON (12) is first-time barefoot, and if fully-fit, can give Julien Dubois’ charge a run for her money. Better-placed behind the car, and unbeaten in two Caen starts, LADY DE VANDEL (3) is competitively-shod for the occasion and warrants respect. LIBRE SAUTONNE (17) has pulled a shocker of a draw but imposed at La Rochelle recently, is barefoot for the first time, and Mathieu Mottier will endeavour to complement Matthieu Abrivard’s good work.

  59. GINKGO ROCQ – Surprise 3rd here earlier in the month before running 5th of 12 to IDEAL D’URZY (2) in a Class F under these conditions a week ago. Has a lot of ground to make up though and no more than a minor place chance
  60. IDEAL D’URZY – Left quite the impression when successful in a Class F under these conditions a week ago. Shod as he was that day and can confirm
  61. HERACLES DU LAYON – Failed to complement his Nantes victory when 9th of 15 in a 2850m Laval Class E last week. Is by no means devoid of talent though and must not be written off
  62. HARTFORD – Last of 8, on return to competition, in a 2200m Class D here 10 days ago. Has no particular love for Caen and is unlikely to spring any surprises
  63. ICARE DU POMMEREUX – Pleasantly surprising 4th of 11 in a 2800m Pontchateau Class G on 7 March but a repeat seems most improbable
  64. HATE YOU BEYLEV – 5th of 8 finishers behind GINKGO ROCQ (1) in a Class F over course and distance 2.5 weeks ago. Races barefoot this time and should logically finish close
  65. HIRO MAGIS – 11th of 16 when preparing for this in a Class D over track and trip 10 days ago and is not about to influence the outcome
  66. IMAIL DE CARSI – In the frame in last 2, most recently 3rd of 11 in a 2850m Laval Class E mid-February. Receives a Mathieu Mottier ride this time and has a respectable chance of bringing home the bacon
  67. HARRYBEAU DE COUET – Unlucky 4th of 8 finishers, a place behind GINKGO ROCQ (1), in a Class F over track and trip 2.5 weeks ago. Reliability not his thing but still warrants attention. First 5
  68. ILLICO DE LOU – Made up for a pair of sanctions when 5th of 11, a place behind ICARE DU POMMEREUX (5), in a 2800m Pontchateau Class G a fortnight back. Should appreciate the new profile and can finish thereabouts
  69. INDIGO BEACH – Serious sort that ran 7th of 18 on re-entry in a 2800m Vire harness Class F on 2 March. Back in his code of preference, with shoes off, likes Caen, and can challenge for the win
Summary: He may not be the most reliable of trotters but IDEAL D’URZY (2) made short work of a similar event here last week and could well double up if François Lagadeuc keeps him focused. That said, INDIGO BEACH (11) returns to conditions he favours and will be barefoot for the occasion. IMAIL DE CARSI (8) is never far from faulting but current form is hard to ignore. HATE YOU BEYLEV (6) is barefoot for the first time this year and Agathe Poulain will be eyeing a place on the podium.

  70. LEADER DE L’AUMOY – 10th of 15 when preparing for this in a 2450m Class E here 10 days ago. Is in competition mode this time and Franck Nivard can be confident of a big run
  71. LUXE D’ERABLE – Makes first start since faulting in a 2750m Cabourg Class D last July. Has bags of ability but is going to need the race
  72. LOUSTIC DE CHENU – 2nd of 9 in a 2750m Toulouse Class E on 8 February. Looks the sort that can do well at Caen and is ideally-positioned to make a big splash
  73. LINO GUILLERVILLE – Useful sort making first appearance since finishing 6th of 14 in a 2875m Enghien Class D last September. Sports pads for the occasion, with Benjamin Rochard reining, and will not go home empty-handed if he turns
  74. LONDON EYE – Quality but spirited sort making first start since faulting in a 2200m Vincennes Class E early-November. Was gelded over the winter, has been reconfigured, and will be no easy touch if Yoann Lebourgeois keeps him trotting
  75. LOWE DU BOUILLON – Takes on a good bunch after having run 3rd of 12 in a 2875m Argentan Class E on 16 February. Breaks in front but is unlikely to repeat
  76. LAFAYETTE DU BOURG – Reassuring 2nd of 9 in a 2700m Vire Class F on 2 March. Steps up in category but goes well right-handed and can get a look-in on Caen bow
  77. LITTLE LOVE – Has not been seen out since being sanctioned in a 2725m Lisieux Class C last June. Is unbeaten in 2 clockwise runs but is going to need the race
  78. LOOPING RENARDIER – In the frame in last 2, most recently 3rd of 12 in a 2400m Amiens Class F a fortnight ago. Not a priority but David Thomain in the bike and will be afforded every chance
  79. LOOK DE CARA – Honest sort that ran 4th of 9 in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class E on 25 February. Has never been tested racing clockwise and others easier to back
  80. LITTERAIRE – Unseen since being sanctioned in a 2875m Vincennes claimer 2 months ago and will have little to contribute
  81. LE VOILA SAUTONNE – Progressive colt making first start since running 7th of 10 in a 2800m Pontchateau Class E on 2 January. Starts on back row but, racing barefoot, will not be easy to oppose
  82. L’ART DU SOLLIER – Ran 5th on re-entry before coming 2nd of 14 in a 2675m Class F at Le Mont-Saint-Michel on 9 March. Emilien Dupont would have preferred a better draw but his charge goes barefoot and must be taken seriously
Summary: Sent for a rest after failing to pull off the hat-trick in early-January, LE VOILA SAUTONNE (12) is barefoot for his comeback and even from the back row can return to winning ways. LEADER DE L’AUMOY (1) showed significant promise at 3, has a pair of runs in him since the winter break, and racing barefoot will be no easy touch. Rejuvenated since the turn of the year, LOUSTIC DE CHENU (3) is ideally-placed in front and is not incapable of losing his maiden tag. L’ART DU SOLLIER (13) steps back up in category after encouraging at Le Mont-Saint-Michel and races barefoot for the first time.

  83. LOVER DU SCION – Sanctioned in a 2500m Class H at Bihorel-lès-Rouen last weekend. Hind shoes off this time but still not easy to recommend
  84. LUTHER DU CLOS – Last but one in a 2700m Machecoul Class G on debut 2.5 weeks ago and will need to show marked improvement
  85. LE BOY DU CHERISAY – Debuts under the saddle after 3 poor harness efforts, latterly sanctioned in a 2800m Cholet Class G on 2 March. Hind shoes off but others still easier to back
  86. LYPHARD DELF – 2nd of 6 finishers to LATSBY DE GUEZ (6) before faulting early in a 2700m Graignes Class F last Sunday. Is clearly in good shape though and will be expected to make amends
  87. LASCO DE L’ITON – 5th of 6 finishers to LATSBY DE GUEZ (6), on comeback, in a Class F over course and distance 10 days ago. The run will have done him good, sports front pads for first time, but still has more to find
  88. LATSBY DE GUEZ – Flew up in a Class F over course and distance 10 days ago. Is well behind in earnings and, with application, can make it 2 on the trot
  89. LASCAUX DU NOYER – Imposed at Argentan before running 3rd of 6 finishers to LATSBY DE GUEZ (6) in a Class F over course and distance 10 days ago. Front pads fitted this time and is not without a chance of imposing
  90. LOUPIOT DE CHENU – 3rd of 4 finishers in a 2700m Class E mid-January. In less-exalted company here and with Benjamin Rochard in the bike, can bring the fight to LATSBY DE GUEZ (6)
  91. LAMENTIN – Debuts under the saddle after being sanctioned in a 2675m Lisieux harness Class F last Saturday and, on good behaviour, can finish in the mix
  92. LOTUS DES CHAMPS – Back under the saddle after faulting in a 2200m Class F harness conditioner here 2.5 weeks ago. Reunited with Victor Saussaye and could pleasantly surprise
Summary: Sanctioned 6 times in a row, it took just 2 runs for LATSBY DE GUEZ (6) to register a win for his new yard and, if behaved, will have a realistic claim on the double. LYPHARD DELF (4) ran second to him that day but races barefoot this time and with stride in check can again figure prominently, but may first have to see off LOUPIOT DE CHENU (8) who has taken particularly well to his new vocation, and the reconfigured LASCAUX DU NOYER (7) who is better than the 3rd place he posted in the race of reference.

  93. KALIE D’URSIN – Disappointing on the whole for some time, most recently sanctioned in a 2650m Saint-Galmier Class F a fortnight ago, and would be preferred racing left-handed
  94. KARAT DEFF – Put a pair of sanctions behind him when 3rd of 14 in a Class E over course and distance 10 days ago and will be dangerous if David Thomain manages to keep him trotting
  95. KALINKA ERA – Missed out by little for victory 3 weeks ago in a 2825m Cordemais Class E. Unlikely to repeat but can still pick up a cheque
  96. KIRWAN THORIS – 6th of 17, on 2nd start back, in a 2850m Laval Class E 3 weeks ago. Top pilot in the bike this time and from the front row can challenge for a spot in the mix
  97. KANKAL – Back under harness after being sanctioned in a monte Class D over course and distance on 3 March. Faithful for the most part and will be expected to play a prominent role
  98. KITTY PIYA – In the frame in 2 of last 3, latterly 3rd of 16 in a 2700m Vincennes Class E on 12 February. Ideally-entered on front row but more a minor place prospect this time around
  99. KEOPS BEGONIA – Sanctioned in last 3, latterly a 2100m Vincennes Class D a month ago. Sports shoes for the occasion and is not a concern
  100. KOQUIN D’AMOUR – Quality individual that ran 2nd of 15 in a 2100m Vincennes Class D a month ago. Shoes on this time though and will have other priorities
  101. KITKO DAIRPET – Ended last year with 2 straight successes, latterly a 2100m Vincennes Class D mid-November. Incurs the penalty, and races shod, and best to hold off
  102. KRISTO BOURBON – Serious trotter but has not been seen out since May 2024 and is going to need the run
  103. KORALIA DE CROUAY – Showed the limits of her capacity when last of 9 in a 2175m Vincennes Class C 3 months ago. On 2nd line and can expect to have few friends
  104. KINGA SUPREME – 10th of 15 on re-entry in a Class D over course and distance 2 weeks ago. Has talent to burn, races barefoot for the occasion, and if focused, can figure prominently
  105. KEL PRESTANCE – Unseen since comfortably winning a 2175m Vincennes Class D on 13 December. Has a lot going for him here and can win this if he turns
  106. KARNAC WOOD – Has not been seen out since faulting in a 2950m Toulouse Class B late-September. Is otherwise an excellent servant and, if fit, can make this his own
  107. KISS ATOUT – Improving type making first start since coming 3rd of 15 in a 2700m Vincennes Class A late-January. Shoes fitted this time though and best to keep one’s powder dry
Summary: Winner of four of his last six starts, KEL PRESTANCE (13) may not have been seen out since December and has no right-handed references, but she is fitted with pads again and the engagement of Benjamin Rochard may be just the ticket. Similarly returning from a break, KARNAC WOOD (14) is more at home racing clockwise and looks the main threat. Reliability may not be his strong suit but KARAT DEFF (2) put on quite the show here recently and the 25m head-start can make all the difference. KANKAL (5) enjoys a terrific entry on the front line and returns to the harness code with a realistic chance of making the frame.
