French Racing Saturday 22nd

R1 VINCENNES [L-H]

C1 – PRIX DE GUEUGNON – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class A Race – Harness – EUR € 62,000

  1. ORAZI CESARE – Sanctioned at the start of a Class D under these conditions on 16 February. Matthieu Abrivard at the helm this time but others still preferred
  2. OVER THE LIGHT AS – Unremarkable 9th of 12 finishers in a 2100m Class C here 3 weeks ago and is not about to stir things up
  3. NGANNOU – Makes French bow after pulling off the hat-trick over 2100m in Naples early last month. Takes a hike in class though and even with shoes off, can expect to have limited prospects
  4. OMERTA BOKO – Good class of colt that has not been seen out since coming 4th of 10 in a 2100m Wolvega Gr.2 in early-November. Hid shoes off this time but in this field will have too much to do
  5. FIDELIS DANCE – Respectable but unthreatening 5th of 8 in a 2850m Class B here late last month. Has yet to open his French account and is unlikely to do so this time either
  6. LORD DU GERS – Fine future prospect starting for first time since running 2nd of 8 in a Class A under these conditions late-January. Is clearly close to winning another and can expect significant support
  7. LAGNU MAG – Starts for first time since finishing last of 6 in a 2925m Cagnes Class A two months ago. Has been off his porridge all winter and needs to get his house in order
  8. FIRST TIME ROC – 7th of 13 in a 2850m Gr.3 here on 16 February. Was not the luckiest that day and can finish in the mix if Benjamin Rochard keeps him out of trouble
  9. LE BILLET VERT – Serious colt making first appearance since coming 4th of 8 in a Class A over track and trip on New Year’s Day. Races barefoot for the occasion and, considering the form of the Duvaldestin yard, must not be underestimated
  10. LUTIN VENESI – Tenacious sort that ran 2nd of 7 finishers to LORD DU BASSIN (14) in a 2100m Vincennes Class A a month ago. Has done nothing but improve lately and must be considered a major player
  11. FERAHAN AS – Made little impression when 8th of 13 in a 2850m Gr.3 on re-entry here on 16 February and will have nothing to contribute
  12. FEUDALE DEGLI DEI – Has not been seen out since running 4th of 9 finishers in 2100m Gr.1 Italian Derby mid-October. Shoes off for re-entry, with Yoann Lebourgeois reining, but is likely to need the run
  13. LORD DE LOIRON – Returns to Paris after coming 3rd of 12 in a 2925m Cagnes Class A a fortnight ago. Can prove a handful but with a top driver in the bike, is unlikely to go down easily
  14. LORD DU BASSIN – Quality element that comfortably won a 2100m Class A here a month back. Arguably better over shorter but in current condition is easy to like for the win
  15. LEWIS RIVER – Quickly sanctioned in a 2200m Gr.1 here 3 weeks ago. Back to a more realistic category this time and with stride in check can make a big splash
  16. LASH PERRINE – Takes a category-drop after running 7th of 11 in a Gr.3 over course and distance 3 weeks ago. Has ample ability but cannot be considered a priority
Summary: LORD DU GERS (6) has done nothing but improve since his successful debut almost precisely a year ago, and with JMB back in the bike will be expected to make up for coming bridesmaid here late-January. That said, LORD DU BASSIN (14) made short work of a Class A here a month back and Alexandre Abrivard will be justifiably anticipating a repeat. Good 4th in the Gr.2 Prix Ephrem Houel here before faulting at a superior level recently, LEWIS RIVER (15) has never disappointed over 2700m here and , with application, will be no pushover. Difficult to knock when focused, LORD DE LOIRON (13) races first-time barefoot and Mathieu Mottier has got the nod.
    SELECTIONS
LORD DU GERS (6) – LORD DU BASSIN (14) – LEWIS RIVER (15) – LORD DE LOIRON (13)
    C2 – PRIX DE CHATILLON – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Gr3 Race – Harness – EUR € 70,000
  17. MYRENA – Takes first steps outside of Italy after running 2nd of 6 over a mile in Milan early last month. Has solid form at home and receives an Alexandre Abrivard drive, but can nonetheless expect to find the going a bit tougher this time
  18. GINGER WISE AS – Returns to Vincennes after running 2nd of 6 over 2020m in Florence mid-February. Is unproven here but has the potential to mix it up
  19. MARA BEST – Serious filly making Vincennes debut after running 3rd of 11 in a 2925m Cagnes Class A on 7 March. Takes on a tougher lot this time and chances limited
  20. MOSAIC LIFE – Complicated character that lost her action in a Class A under these conditions a month back. Tends to go well for Yoann Lebourgeois and warrants respect
  21. MIDWAY LADY – Runner-up in last 3, most recently after staying on well behind MY PRINCESS (6) in a Class A under these conditions early last month, and is due a maiden victory one of these days. Chance
  22. MY PRINCESS – Has progressed with every run, latterly convincing winner of a Class A under these conditions early last month, and considering her potential, can make it 3 on the trot
  23. MUSCADE LEMAN – 5th of 10 in a 2200m monte Gr.3 here mid-February. Has decent harness references and looks good enough to challenge for a spot in the picture
  24. MELODY COOL – Has not been seen out since coming 6th of 8 finishers in a 2175m Gr.2 here on 5 January. Has evident ability but is likely to be race-rusty
  25. GASOLINE BAR – Unraced since finishing last of 9 over 2100m at San Siro mid-December. Takes first competitive steps for new stable and is not to be underestimated
  26. MONICA JISCE – Sanctioned more often than not, most recently a Gr.2 over track and trip late-January, but has talent to burn and can make this her own if Eric Raffin manages to keep her mind on the game
Summary: The Prix de Châtillon has attracted quite the group of fillies and there is little to separate the main protagonists. Mathieu Mottier who, along with his horses, has been firing on all cylinders for some time, sends out last month’s course-and-distance winner, MY PRINCESS (6), who has every chance of securing the hat-trick. Still a maiden but highly-consistent, MIDWAY LADY (5) ran a good 2nd to her that day and can again apply the pressure. A Gr.2 winner under these conditions, but as mercurial as the wind, the nicely-engaged MONICA JISCE (10) has won twice for Eric Raffin and will be a tough nut to crack if applied. MUSCADE LEMAN (7) has yet to get off the mark but has good speed and Anthony Barrier can be quietly confident.
    SELECTIONS

    C3 – PRIX DE MEAUX – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class A Race – Harness – EUR € 62,000
  27. FRECCIA – Unthreatening 6th of 8 finishers behind FINLANDIA TOR (3) in a 2100m Class C here earlier in the month and is unlikely to improve on that
  28. FUGA DAL BAR – Has not been seen out since running 5th of 7 over 1640m in Halmstad on 17 January. Barefoot for first start for new stable and will be no easy touch if she takes to the new profile
  29. FINLANDIA TOR – 5th of 8 finishers in a 2100m Class C here earlier in the month. Does not have a bad draw to contend with this time and merits retaining
  30. KEEN LADY JOSSELYN – Last of 12 to LILY MARGOT (6) in a 2850m Class B here on 1 March and is not about to replicate her Danish form
  31. LUDIVINE – 8th of 10 in a tough 2100m Gr.2 here on 8 February. Has conditions more to her liking this time and can trot off with the silverware
  32. LILY MARGOT – Missed out by little here in February before trouncing the opposition in a 2850m Class B here on 1 March, and Yoann Lebourgeois can be justifiably confident of another big performance
  33. LIBERTINE DJOB – Unraced since losing her action in a 2175m monte Gr.2 here late-November. Not a concern
  34. LAUREATE DRY – Sanctioned early in a Class A over course and distance on 26 January. Thrives with the day’s driver and can play a prominent role if she gets off on the right foot
  35. LOLITA BOURBON – Has been improving all the while, latterly a dogged winner of a 2650m Bordeaux Class D a fortnight ago, and Eric Raffin will have LUDIVINE (5) in his sights. Chance
  36. LITTLE STAR FLEURY – Makes first appearance since being sanctioned in a Gr.3 under these conditions on 12 January. Shoes on and best to hold off
  37. LUSH LIFE – Sanctioned in last 2, most recently a 2850m Gr.3 here late-January. Comes here fresh and reconfigured and, if applied, could well upset the apple-cart. Attention
Summary: After holding her own against the colts in the Gr.2 Prix Ephrem Houel last month, LUDIVINE (5) has just her own sex to contend with this time and consistently goes well for Benjamin Rochard. Even better since starting to race barefoot, LOLITA BOURBON (9) kept her right-handed record intact at Bordeaux recently and Eric Raffin has every right to believe she can open her Vincennes account. LILY MARGOT (6) steps marginally up in category after running away with a Class B earlier in the month, and is not incapable of repeating. LAUREATE DRY (8) has had time to recalibrate following her January sanction and has won her last 2 when reined by Alexandre Abrivard.
    SELECTIONS
    LUDIVINE (5) – LOLITA BOURBON (9) – LILY MARGOT (6) – LAUREATE DRY (8)
    C4 – PRIX D’AUXERRE – 2850m (a2m) – Class B Race – Harness – EUR € 60,000
  38. ERNESTO ROC – Disappointing in both since landing a Gr.3 two months ago, most recently 12th of 16 in race in reference, and can expect to have few takers
  39. KELLY JANE – Secured 2 in a row before losing her action in a 2700m Class B here late last month. Reverts to a previous formula and is unlikely to spring any surprises
  40. KAKO GASCOGNE – Capable sort but has not been seen out since finishing last of 9 in a 2700m Class B here mid-January. Fitted with shoes this time and can be ruled out
  41. ERNEST JET – Looked very ordinary when last but one in race of reference. Barefoot with Yoann Lebourgeois in the bike, but still not an obvious choice
  42. ENOCK – Ran better in the race of reference than his 10th of 16 would suggest but still has ground to make up
  43. KEVIN PRINCE – Quality element that got straight down to business on re-entry over 3100m at Wolvega 3 weeks ago. Won his only start under these conditions and warrants considerable respect
  44. JUST A LADY (DEN) – Opened her French account when winning a mares-only Class B over course and distance early-February. Shoes back on though and no threat
  45. KEYNOTE – Placed in last 2, latterly 2nd of 9 in a 2950m Toulouse Class D on 31 January. Is clearly in shape but would be preferred over 2700m
  46. KOMPOSTEL – Makes first appearance since finishing last of 9 in a 2875m Enghien Class B last August and will need the race
  47. KASH LADY – 3rd over course and distance before coming 5th of 16 behind KAPTAIN DU LIAMONE (16) in a 2100m Class B here on 18 February. Has been in good shape since the autumn and over this longer trip will not be far off the mark
  48. KONFINEE – Sprang 10/1 surprise when tenacious winner of a 2700m Class B here late-February. Unlikely to repeat but can nevertheless be assured a competitive drive
  49. KYOTO DIGEO – Edged by KAPTAIN DU LIAMONE (16) on 1 January before finishing 6th of 12 in a 2700m Class A here later that month. Comes here fresh and is not going to be far from the action
  50. KARAMBAR – 6th of 11 when preparing for this in a 2450m Caen Class B on 10 March. Boasts decent course-and-distance references and on good behaviour will have this in the bag
  51. ENERGY KING GAR – 6th of 16 behind KAPTAIN DU LIAMONE (16) in a 2100m Class B here on 18 February. Jean-Michel Bazire in the bike this time and can trot his way onto the podium
  52. KEMIA DU CHENE – 8th of 16 in 18 February race of reference. Has form at a superior level and the good entry will only enhance her prospects. First 5
  53. KAPTAIN DU LIAMONE – Blows hot and cold but ran a reassuring 3rd of 16 in a 2100m Class B here on 18 February and with form maintained, can play a leading role
Summary: A fine servant with a particular liking for the Vincennes main track, KARAMBAR (13) is barefoot for his first objective of the new year and, if applied, should be able to wrap this up. Well-engaged, KAPTAIN DU LIAMONE (16) won here earlier in the year and his latest performance augurs well for his chances. Not far behind him last month, ENERGY KING GAR (14) has been entrusted to JMB for the first time and has a decent chance of turning the tables on KASH LADY (10) who just had his measure that day. KEVIN PRINCE (6) showed his form on comeback and returns to Paris fresh and with a good hand to play.

    C5 – PRIX DU BOIS DE VINCENNES – 2850m (a2m) – Gr3 Race – Harness – EUR € 90,000
  54. KILLIAM FROMENTRO – 7th of 8 when being conditioned in a 2450m Caen Class B 12 days ago. Races with shoes fitted again and others easier to back
  55. LIONHEART – Exceptional colt with an 80 percent strike-rate. Unraced since winning a 2700m Gr.3 here on 5 January and with shoes on will have little to contribute
  56. KYRIELLE – 9th of 10 finishers on re-entry in a 2900m Amiens Gr.3 2.5 weeks ago. Still in conditioning-mode and not a concern
  57. BORDEAUX S. – 5th of 9 finishers in a 2825m Class D at Le Croise-Laroche 2 weeks ago. Seldom disappoints when barefoot and has a reasonable chance of picking up some prizemoney
  58. EPSOM D’HERFRAIE – Last of 9 behind BORDEAUX S. (4) on re-entry in a 2825m Class D at Le Croise-Laroche 2 weeks ago. Is confirmed at this level but others still preferred
  59. FACE TIME – Briefly lost his way but encouraging 2nd of 9 to INEXESS BLEU (10) in a 2700m Gr.3 here 3 weeks ago and is not to be underestimated
  60. IT’S A DOLLARMAKER – Quality element dropping in category after finishing an oddly lacklustre 9th of 11 finishers behind FAKIR DE MAHEY (8) in 4150m Gr.1 Prix de Paris here on 12 February. Not a priority but can still make first 5
  61. FAKIR DE MAHEY – Made up for Prix d’Amerique blip when 3rd of 11 finishers in 4150m Gr.1 Prix de Paris on 23 February and will not be available at 56/1 this time. Place
  62. IDEAL LIGNERIES – 6th of 11 finishers behind FAKIR DE MAHEY (8) in 4150m Gr.1 Prix de Paris here on 12 February. Has nothing to prove in this category and is thoroughly capable of giving this a good go. Place chance
  63. INEXESS BLEU – Made it 5 in a row when comfortably winning a 2700m Gr.3 here 3 weeks ago and even though taking on some better horses this time, still looks the horse to beat
  64. KANA DE BEYLEV – 11th of 13 finishers behind GASPAR D’ANGIS (12) on comeback in a 2850m Laval Class A on 12 March. Stays shod though and best to wait
  65. GASPAR D’ANGIS – Tough individual that ran 9th of 16 in a 2850m Laval Class A conditioner 10 days ago. Races barefoot this time and looks the main danger to INEXESS BLEU (10)
Summary: Like a horse reborn since early-December, INEXESS BLEU (10) has won his last five here and securing a sixth straight is well within the realm of possibility. Alexandre Abrivard will still want to be wary of the hardy, and barefoot, GASPAR D’ANGIS (12) who ran 2nd to him in the Gr.3 Prix du Luxembourg in late-January, and FAKIR DE MAHEY (8) who finished third in the Gr.1 Prix de Paris a month ago. Sixth that day, IDEAL LIGNERIES (9) finds himself back at a more reasonable level and will not go down without a fight.

    C6 – PRIX JEAN CABROL – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class B Race – Harness – EUR € 75,000
  66. DANGER BI – Sanctioned when unsupported in a 2100m Gr.3 here on 26 January. Is no slouch when focused though and should not be written off
  67. ISOFOU DU CHENE – Pulled off the hat-trick when dominating a 2100m Class C here a month ago. Has excellent course-and-distance credentials and the 4-timer is well within his capacity
  68. ILLUSION JIPAD – Below-par 7th of 12 in a Class B under these conditions on 7 February. Already a winner for the day’s driver and can challenge for a place on the podium this time
  69. IDEAL DU ROCHER – Last of 9 behind WORKING CLASS HERO (12) on re-entry in a Class B over track and trip late last month. Eric Raffin has won 2 of 3 with him and, racing barefoot, will again be competitive for a place in the frame
  70. GIRL DE BASSIERE – 7th of 11 behind WORKING CLASS HERO (12) in a Class B over course and distance late last month and is not about to shake things up
  71. HERADAMES – Comfortable 3rd of 11, a place behind WORKING CLASS HERO (12) in a Class B over course and distance late last month. Is in his category and not about to let the side down. First 5
  72. SELF EXPLOSIVE – Group-class trotter that lost his action at the start of a 2925m Cagnes Class B a fortnight ago. Imposed here last time with Benjamin Rochard in the bike and, with stride in check, is unlikely to go home empty-handed
  73. IBISCUS MAN – Useful type making first start since running 7th of 14 in a 2850m Gr.2 here early-December. Will race shod though and others preferred
  74. HERO SIBEY – Wonderful servant making first start since faulting in a Gr.2 over 2850m here early-December. Shod for re-entry and best to keep one’s powder dry
  75. FOSTER WOOD – Serious sort that has not been seen out since finishing last of 11 in a 2925m Cagnes Class A mid-December. Is no particular fan of Vincennes and racing shod will do him no favours
  76. INVICTUS MADIBA – Failed to confirm good January performance when sanctioned in 28 February race if reference and others easier to back
  77. WORKING CLASS HERO – Close 2nd of 11 in a Class B over track and trip on 28 February. Has taken superbly to Vincennes conditions and Mathieu Mottier will be determined to put things right. Claim
  78. HULYSSE DIGEO – Won 3 from 4 here before securing a 2850m Class A, also here, on 18 February. Hind shoes off this time and can bring the fight to WORKING CLASS HERO (12)
Summary: Fifth in the Gr.1 Prix de France before missing out by little under these conditions late last month, WORKING CLASS HERO (12) boasts an enviable strike-rate and is just preferred to a competitively-shod HULYSSE DIGEO (13) who just keeps on improving, and ISOFOU DU CHENE (2) who simply excels over 2700m here. Oddly out of sorts here last month, ILLUSION JIPAD (3) will be reunited with JMB who scored with her last October and who should logically redeem herself.
    SELECTIONS

    C7 – PRIX DE GABARRET – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class C Race – Harness – EUR € 53,000
  79. CALIMA DI POGGIO – Returns to Paris after running 2nd of 11, at 29/1, in a 2700m Cagnes Class E a fortnight ago but others still easier to back
  80. MISS JAJA – Steps up in category after running 4th of 8 finishers in a Class D under these conditions 3.5 weeks ago, but is unlikely to repeat
  81. DADA DEL RONCO – Took little time getting back in shape, most recently running 2nd of 15 to JUNKIE (SWE) (10) in a 2850m Class D here on 16 February, and has a legitimate claim on a place in the frame
  82. JAMAICA PHEDO – Looked a different horse when successful in a 2850m Laval Class D on 6 March. Franck Nivard at the helm again and is unlikely to be far off the mark
  83. DENIA – Somewhat below-par in last 2, latterly 7th of 14 in a 2850m Class C here late last month, but it is just a question of time before she gets back in the game. One to watch
  84. DIVA DEL RONCO – 6th of 15 over 2080m in Naples earlier this month and appears to have no realistic chance
  85. DESTINY DI POGGIO – Quality individual that ran 3rd of 9 in a 2875m Enghien Class E, on return to competition, a fortnight ago. Has nothing to prove in this category and has every chance of imposing
  86. JAIN MAB – Unlucky 5th of 15 in a 2450m Caen Class D on 3 March. Has done nothing of note here for some time but in current shape is easy to like for a minor place
  87. ICONE D’ERABLE – 7th of 16 in a 2850m Laval Class E conditioner 10 days ago. Is shod to preference for the occasion and can finish close this time
  88. JUNKIE (SWE) – Facile winner of a 2850m Class D here on 16 February. Climbs back up the category-ladder and poses the main threat to DESTINY DI POGGIO (7)
Summary: As classy a campaigner in France as she has been in her native Italy, DESTINY DI POGGIO (7) will have come on for her excellent re-entry run and with Jean-Michel in the bike, will take all the beating. Leading the opposition, JUNKIE (SWE) (10) has been impossible to fault this year and has a legitimate claim on a podium step, as does DIVA DEL RONCO (6) who ran 2nd to her here mid-February. Good winner at Laval earlier in the month, JAMAICA PHEDO (4) reverts to a successful formula and should be competitive at the business end of the race.

    C8 – PRIX DU TREPORT – 2850m (a2m) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 59,000
  89. ISLA JUELA – Made it 2 in a row when comfortably winning a 2825m Cordemais Class E 3 weeks ago. Faces a tougher test here but from the front row can still play a leading role
  90. IRONIE DE CHENU – Victorious here before coming 2nd of 16 in a 2900m Challans Class G a fortnight ago. Starts in front, simply excels with Eric Raffin, and a place in the frame is well within her capacity
  91. IDOLE JALLERIE – Flopped here late-January before coming a reassuring 2nd of 18 in a 2800m Vire Class F on 2 March. Barefoot from the front row this time but others still preferred
  92. ILIADE MENCOURT – Reassuring 4th of 13 in a 2500m Reims Class F on 2 March. Benefits from a front-line start but may just be taking on too much
  93. HOPPELA THEPOL – 11th of 15 in a 2500m Class E at La Rochelle 3 weeks ago. Yoann Lebourgeois in the bike this time though and is well-placed to finish in the money
  94. IZZIE D’ERONVILLE – Won 2 of 3 before running 4th of 11 in a 2800m Pontchateau Class D a fortnight ago. Enjoys a good entry on the front line and, with Anthony Barrier reining, can give IDOLE DE MEAT (9) a run for her money
  95. HELICE DU TREZON – Fast-finishing 4th of 11 in a 2700m Cagnes Class E a fortnight ago. Takes on a tougher lot here but has previously won over course and distance and given the entry will have her supporters
  96. ILLUSION D’AMOUR – Unexceptional 7th of 11 in a 2875m Enghien Class D 8 days ago. Has otherwise been in good condition and should not be overlooked
  97. IDOLE DE MEAT – 8th of 11 finishers in a 4150m Gr.1 here a month back. In less-exalted company this time and considering her liking for these conditions will be expected to impose
  98. HANIKA DU LUPIN – Comfortable winner of a 2700m monté Class D here on 16 February. Here for reasons of conditioning though and can be passed over
  99. IS MAGIC HAUFOR – Returns to a track she appreciates after running 5th of 11 in a 2150m Enghien Class D on 7 March. Unlikely to cause an upset but nevertheless has the wherewithal to finish in the mix
  100. HAUTE COTE DE NUIT – Won 2 of last 3, latterly a 2100m Class D here early-February. Sports front pads this time however and best to hold off
  101. FELICITA D’ECOUVES – Surprise 6th of 14 in a competitive 2200m Caen Class D 9 days ago. Will not be available at 126/1 this time but will not be as performant either
  102. HISA DU MARGAS – 5th of 15 behind FELICITA D’ECOUVES (13) in a 2450m Caen Class D on 6 March. Reverts to a previous formula but is on the back row here and will have nothing to offer
  103. HAIDA SAUTONNE – Won a Class C over track and trip before coming 7th of 15 in a monte Class B under similar conditions mid-January. Has had ample time to recover and Benjamin Rochard will be eager to capitalise. Chance
Summary: Back to a more realistic category after making little impact in the Gr.1 Prix de Paris, IDOLE DE MEAT (9) has been reconfigured for the occasion and will have a genuine chance of winning this. She is going to feel the heat though from the on-form IZZIE D’ERONVILLE (6) who won over course and distance in December and who will again benefit from a front-row break, and the wonderfully-engaged, fresh, and barefoot HAIDA SAUTONNE (15) who imposed here last time under harness. Barefoot for the first time in her career, ISLA JUELA (1) steps up in category after winning a brace in the provinces and must be considered a major player.

    C9 – PRIX DE LANGRES – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class E Race – Mounted – EUR € 52,000
  104. IMHOTEP MADRIK – Has 2 runs in him following a lengthy absence, latterly sanctioned early in a 2675m Lisieux harness Class F last weekend. Damien Bonne aboard this time and is not to be overlooked
  105. JAG MAHCATH – Should not be hastily-judged for being sanctioned in a 2625m Agen Class F mid-February. Excels with Mathieu Mottier who will be eager to set the record straight
  106. NYMKE BRIGADOON – Takes a notable step up in category after running third, a place behindJOKER DU HAMEL (4), in a 2175m Class D here on 11 February and is unlikely to shake things up
  107. JOKER DU HAMEL – 3rd of 11 in a 2850m Laval Class E late last month. Is as consistent as they come but may find the going a bit tougher this time around
  108. VASTERBO IMTHEMAN – 3rd of 12 in a 2825m Cordemais Class D late last month. Has taken to the discipline like a duck to water and can figure prominently if he takes to the main-track profile too
  109. STACCATO HL – Excellent monte campaigner that ran 2nd of 9 in a 2175m Class D here late last month. Seen more often over shorter but still looks a major player
  110. INKY PERRINE – Out of the picture in last six starts, most recently sanctioned in a 2850m Laval Class E 10 days ago, and has no possible chance
  111. JUNIOR BERDIERE – Placed twice in the provinces before running 6th of 10 in a Class A over course and distance on 21 February. Eric Raffin in the irons this time and can make a big impact
  112. JOKER DE FROULAY – Returns to a track he likes after coming 7th of 9 finishers behind JOKER DU HAMEL (4) in a 2850m Laval Class E on 27 February. Is not about to win this but is not out of the running for a minor place cheque either
  113. JUPITER DE PLAY – 7th of 10, a place behind JUNIOR BERDIERE (8), in a Class A over course and distance on 21 February. In less-exalted company this time and given his liking for these conditions, can play a leading role
  114. ILEO PIERJI – Ran 4th over course and distance before coming 2nd of 9 in a 2875m Enghien Class D on 11 March. Not a priority but with form maintained could get in on the action again
Summary: Nicely-engaged toward the limit of earnings, and superb over 2700m here, JUPITER DE PLAY (10) takes a dip in category and can win this if François Lagadeuc keeps him trotting. A place ahead of him a month back, and in general more reliable, JUNIOR BERDIERE (8) is a similarly -appealing proposition. JAG MAHCATH (2) did not enjoy the best of fortune at Agen but has otherwise been in sparkling form and races barefoot for the first time under the saddle. Enjoying something of a renaissance since switching codes, the German STACCATO HL (6) has been knocking at the door recently and Benjamin Rochard takes over in the saddle.

QUEEN BAY (2) is distance suited and could be a threat.
