R1 VINCENNES [L-H]
C1 – PRIX HENRIETTA – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 46,000
- KENDO JIEL – 13th of 15, on first start for 9 months, in a 2800m Rambouillet Class E late last month. Hind shoes off this time but still not a priority
- KAISER CHANCE – 3rd of 15 in a 2950m Toulouse Class E a fortnight ago. Has no harness references over the main track but in current condition is very easy to like for a place in the frame
- KANEM – Sanctioned, on return to competition, in a 2700m Class D here last Friday. Has decent main track references but still has more to find
- KAZACHOK – Swiftly sanctioned on comeback in a 2150m Enghien Class D early-March. Already a winner for Eric Raffin here and from the 4-spot will have his chances
- KOQUIN D’AMOUR – Showed moderate improvement when 6th of 16 in a 2700m Class D here 2 weeks ago. Is considerably better than that though and will be expected to go closer this time
- KASH DES RIOULTS – 4th of 13 in a 2700m Class D here 3 weeks ago. Takes to 2100m for the first time and racing barefoot for the occasion will do his chances no disservice
- KRISTO BOURBON – Sanctioned on re-entry in a 2450m Caen Class D on 20 March. Has evident ability but has suffered an interrupted career and is expected to need another run
- KABOTIN CHENEVIERE – Produced 2 good provincial performances before finishing last of 10 in a 2700m Class D here a week ago. Sports front pads this time but in this category will have too much to do
- KITKO DAIRPET – Quality element that was prepping for this when sanctioned in a 2450m Caen Class D on 20 March. Set his personal best time under these conditions last November and has every chance of confirming
Summary: Winner for Matthieu Abrivard over course and distance before being sent for a spell, KITKO DAIRPET (9) now has a race under his belt, is reunited with the driver in question, goes barefoot for the occasion, and looks the one to beat. In a similar vein, Eric Raffin, who won with KAZACHOK (4) here in December, is back in the bike and represents the main threat. KAISER CHANCE (2) has been a model of consistency lately and sports a fresh configuration. KASH DES RIOULTS (6) has no references over these shorter trips but tends to go well for Franck Nivard and will be first-time barefoot.

C2 – PRIX ARIEL – 2850m (a2m) – Class B Race – Harness – EUR € 60,000 - CONRADS PALLE – 3rd of 12, on French debut, in a 2875m Enghien monte Class D 2.5 weeks ago. Has other priorities and can be passed over
- PANTOCRATOR – Twice showed his form before faulting early in a 2100m Class C here last Saturday. Is no priority but can still make his presence felt
- MONA LISA VENUS – Unraced since winning over 2100m in Vienna last August. Is not here unprepared though and has the class to defy the layoff and finish close
- KOOL AND THE GANG – No longer the horse he once was, most recently last of 12 behind KIPHYLE DESBOIS (13) in a 2700m Class B here in late-February, and can be disregarded
- KRACOVIA – Has not been seen out since being sanctioned in a 2700m Gr.2 here last June. Shoes fitted and not a concern
- NIAGARA RIVER – Last of 9, when preparing for this, over 2100m in Victoria Park last weekend. Tends to go well at Vincennes, and runs barefoot, but represents little more than a minor place chance
- EVERY TIME WINNER – Returns to Vincennes after imposing over a mile in Turin on 26 March. Is proven here but at this level will have his work cut out
- ERNESTO ROC – 7th of 16, a place behind KEYNOTE (14), in a 2850m Class B here on 22 March. Is as inclement as the wind though and even with Matthieu Abrivard at the helm still looks an outsider
- ERNEST JET – Yet to make his mark since coming to France, most recently 8th of 16 behind KEYNOTE (14) in a 2850m Class B here on 22 March, and others easier to back
- ENOCK – Trounced in 2 here recently, last time 11th of 16 behind KEYNOTE (14) in a 2850m Class B here on 22 March, and has no possible chance
- KEVIN PRINCE – Sanctioned when going well in a Class B under these conditions 3 weeks ago. Very hard to knock when focused and has already imposed over track and trip. Chance
- KENO PETTEVINIERE – Showed considerable improvement when 3rd of 14 in a 2700m Class B here on 28 February. Cannot be considered a leading contender this time but can still get in on the action
- KIPHYLE DESBOIS – Consistently gives her best, as she showed when just pipped in a 2700m Class B here on 28 February. Appreciates 2850m over the main track and can get her nose in front this time
- KEYNOTE – In the frame in 2 before running 6th of 16 in a 2850m Class B here on 22 March. Enjoys a good entry and is unlikely to be far off the mark
- KIVALA RENARDIER – In excellent form this year winning 2 from 3, most recently a 2850m Laval Class D a fortnight ago, and looks thoroughly capable of confirming
Summary: Close to the limit of earnings, and winner of her last 2 starts with Eric Raffin in the bike, KIVALA RENARDIER (15) can expect the lion’s share of support. KEVIN PRINCE (11) is no slouch when focused though and showed his form in a similar event recently despite losing his action. Solid for the most part since the turn of the year, KIPHYLE DESBOIS (13) missed out by the smallest of margins here last time out and will be competitive for the win. Five times a winner in six career starts, MONA LISA VENUS (3) has not been seen out since last August but she is competitively-shod, with Mathieu Mottier reining, and is not to be underestimated.

C3 – PRIX ICLEA – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class C Amateur Riders Race – Mounted – EUR € 61,000 - HUGO OCCAGNES – Made a good return to competition last week, running 3rd of 7 finishers in a 3125m Angers Class C. Unlikely to spring a surprise but should nevertheless hold his own
- FLASH DU BIWETZ – In fine form this term, most recently 3rd of 10 to ILTON ROYAL (7) in a 2875m Enghien Class C early last month. Unlikely to get his nose in front but can still figure prominently
- FICIMER – Returns to Vincennes on a hat-trick after winning 2 at Cagnes, most recently with consummate ease, in a 2925m Class C a month ago. Takes on some more accomplished horses here but still looks a serious proposition
- GIANT MESLOIS – Drops down the category-ladder after finishing 10th of 11 in a 2875m Enghien Class B on 18 March. Not short of ability, just reliability, and others easier to trust
- ILLENC DES BOSC – Imposed with ease on comeback in a 2250m Enghien Class C 2.5 weeks ago. Has won 2 of last 3 and once again looks the horse to beat
- GABELOU CARISAIE – Back under the saddle after finishing last but one behind FALCON D’ESPACE (10) in a harness Class C over course and distance a fortnight back, and is unlikely to generate much interest
- ILTON ROYAL – Superb at Enghien on 7 March before running 4th of 16 in a 2875m Argentan harness Class D 12 days later. Is close to his best and very much in the running
- GADGET DU GADE – Out of the picture in last 3, latterly sanctioned in a 2875m Enghien Class B on 18 March, and can expect to have few friends
- EOLIEN DE CHENU – Flattering 4th of 5 finishers in a 2650m Bordeaux Class C on 8 March. Not a priority but can still make his presence felt
- FALCON D’ESPACE – Gives monte code another go after running 5th of 16 in a harness Class C over course and distance 2 weeks ago. Is confirmed at this level and in the hands of Agathe Poulain is unlikely to disappoint
Summary: One of the most consistent horses in this branch of the business, ILLENC DES BOSC (5) got straight back in the game across town late last month and with the talented Luka Ott aboard, can confirm. He will still be minded to pay attention to ILTON ROYAL (7) who is quite obviously at the top of his game, and FICIMER (3) who has been transformed since returning to the code. FALCON D’ESPACE (10) reassured under harness here a fortnight ago and will not be sent out at 119/1 this time.

C4 – PRIX ALGENIB – 2850m (a2m) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 49,000 - JAVA DES BERTHES – Returned to winning ways on 17 March, determinedly winning a 2450m Caen Class F. Can prove a handful but tends to go well here and must be taken seriously
- JOKE BLUE – 5th of 13, a place behind JULIANA BREIL (3), in a 2200m Caen Class E a month back. Can prove a handful but can trot when focused and should not be written off
- JULIANA BREIL – Returns to a track she likes after finishing 7th of 14 in a 3125m Angers monte Class F last week. Is plainly in fine shape and looks a solid first-5 chance
- JAVOTTE MADRIK – Quality mare that ran 6th of 16 on re-entry in a 2875m Class E at Meslay-du-Maine on 18 March. Will have progressed for the race and David Thomain can be confident of a competitive run
- JESSIE LAKE – 5th of 16 in a 2825m Class F at Le Croise-Laroche 2.5 weeks ago. Starts in front but would be preferred over shorter here
- JESSY DES PISTES – 7th of 14, on first outing since January, in a 2550m Gournay-en-Bray Class F on 23 March. Sports a new formula but still looks outclassed
- JULIE DU CLOS – Won a 2800m Pontchateau Class F on 7 March, her first start for 5 months. Has never produced the goods here but in this configuration can start to put the record straight. Claim
- JASMINE D’OUILLY – Last but one, after being off for 5.5 months, in a 2875m Enghien Class E mid-March. Has done nothing of note for 18 months and is not about to change her ways
- JOLYSTAR GEDE – Sanctioned in 5 of last 6, most recently a 2700m Meral Class H last Sunday. On back row and, while not a priority, could spice things up if applied
- JAVA D’ANAMA – Made up for Caen sanction when good 3rd of 14 in a 2350m Angers Class E last week. Has placed just once in 3 under these conditions but in current shape is easy to recommend
- HELMA DE BUSSET – In cracking form since returning to competition, latterly 2nd of 13 in a 2600m Cavaillon Class F on 23 March. Forced to incur the penalty but has decent form with Eric Raffin and is not incapable of getting her nose in front
- IRIS FARCEUSE – Held on well to win a 2700m Class E at Le Croise-Laroche early last month. Sports similar shoeing but is still unlikely to repeat
Summary: Nicely entered on the front line here after having won on her comeback early last month, JULIE DU CLOS (7) will be reined by Guillaume Martin this time and can repeat. She will still face resistance from back-line starters JAVA D’ANAMA (10), who has placed in 2 of her last 3, and HELMA DE BUSSET (11) who has returned to racing in earnest this year. Barefoot after winning at Caen last month, JAVA DES BERTHES (1) is seldom far from faulting but breaks in front and can expect significant support.

C5 – PRIX D’USSEL – 2175m (a1m1/4) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 41,000 - KRYSTA DE KERYANN – Failed to replicate re-entry success when 9th of 11 behind KUNZITE D’EM (9) in a 2150m Enghien Class E 2.5 weeks ago. In similar company this time but should not be entirely ruled out
- KYA D’ERABLE – 3rd of 10 behind KYRA D’ESSARTS (5) in a 2725m Graignes Class E on 16 March. Has hardly put a foot wrong recently and is unlikely to go home empty-handed
- KOMEDIE SOMOLLI – Returns to harness code after finishing last but one in a 2450m Caen monte Class E a month ago. Barefoot this time but still not a concern
- KOREA – Serious mare making first start since running 2nd of 13 in a 2700m Class E here mid-January. Is clearly in competition-mode though and can bring the fight to KELLISIA GIRL (12)
- KYRA D’ESSARTS – Clear 2nd of 10 on comeback in a 2725m Graignes Class E on 16 March. Placed in one of 2 over main track here and should be good enough to finish close again
- KALINKA MOYA – Pleasant 5th of 11 behind KUNZITE D’EM (9) in a 2150m Enghien Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Appears to be back on the right road and will be barefoot this time
- KELLY CHARLY ERA – 5th in both starts after having won over track and trip late-January, most recently 2650m Laval Class E on 6 March. Barefoot for just 2nd Vincennes appearance and will be no pushover
- KELLY GEDE – Pulled-up in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class E on 17 March. Appears to be out of sorts and others easier to trust
- KUNZITE D’EM – Left a good impression when 3rd of 11 in a 2150m Enghien Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Goes barefoot again but a repeat seems highly unlikely
- KRONA VIKING – 7th of 11, on return to competition, in a 2400m Amiens Class E on 5 March. Has limited Vincennes experience but with hind shoes off can play a small part
- KOPALINE DE CHENOU – Easy winner of a 2850m Feurs Class F on 23 March, her first start for 2 months. Takes on a tougher lot this time but with form maintained, will not be far from the action
- KELLISIA GIRL – Comfortable winner of a 2100m Class E here on 18 February. Hard to knock when barefoot and focused and Eric Raffin will be eyeing the double
Summary: Just 100 Euros from elimination and winner of her last start at the venue, KELLISIA GIRL (12) has won her last 3 when reined by Eric Raffin, and extending that to 4 wins is well within her capacity. KOREA (4) however has taken particularly well to Vincennes conditions and although unseen for 3 months, she races barefoot for the occasion and poses the main danger. Somewhat less-performant in her last 2 since winning over course and distance, KELLY CHARLY ERA (7) returns to racing barefoot and should be competitive for a place in the frame. KYRA D’ESSARTS (5) will have come on for her encouraging return run and should take well to this shorter trip.

C6 – PRIX BEAUMANOIR – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class A Race – Mounted – EUR € 71,000 - KING DRY – Makes just 2nd ridden appearance, most recently having won a 2750m Toulouse harness Class F 3 weeks ago. In considerably tougher company this time but he can at least make first 5
- LASKO DES BROUSSES – Unbeaten in 3 monte starts, latterly storming to success in a Gr.3 under these conditions on 18 February. His limits have yet to be defined and is going to take all the beating
- KATINKA AIMEF – Easy 2nd of 9 in a Class B over course and distance 10 days ago. Is confirmed at group-level but faces a stiff test in this company
- LUCKY SIBEY – Sanctioned in 2200m Gr.1 Prix des Centaures early last month. Is confirmed in decent company and looks capable of trotting her way onto the podium
- KERRY LOVE – Takes a notable dip in class after running last of 6 finishers in 2200m Gr.1 Prix des Centaures early last month. Not always easy to gauge but has buckets of class and Mathieu Mottier will be eager to get her back in the game. Chance
Summary: It is not often that one horse scares away the opposition but LASKO DES BROUSSES (2) has done just that after winning 3 straight, all for Eric Raffin. Closest thing to opposition will come from KERRY LOVE (5) who returns to a more reasonable level after last month’s Prix des Centaures bid. Sanctioned on re-entry that day, LUCKY SIBEY (4) sports a new configuration for the occasion and looks best of the rest.

C7 – PRIX CLARISSE – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 40,000 - LODEN D’HERFRAIE – 7th of 9 finishers in a 2700m Class D here 2 weeks ago. Starts on the rail and, even with hind shoes off for first time, will struggle to make his presence felt
- LUNDU DE LOU – Got off the mark in a 2050m Class E at Lyon-La Soie a month ago. Pleased in 1 of 2 here but others still easier to support
- LAY UP – Flew up at Caen before running 3rd of 11, a place behind LATINUS AVIS (12), in a 2875m Enghien Class E on 18 March. Has never produced the goods at Vincennes but in current form looks a player
- LUX DE LA MESLIERE – Makes first start since winning a 2175m Class E here on 21 January. Is nicely-engaged though, barefoot for the occasion, and clearly in competition mode. Claim
- LEXCELLENT DU METZ – Complicated type that dominated a 2100m Lisieux Class E a fortnight ago. Has yet to deliver over the main track but will be dangerous if Léo Abrivard keeps him trotting
- LEBARON D’OURVILLE – Won 2 in January before being sanctioned in next 2, latterly a 2700m Class D here a fortnight back. Reverts to racing barefoot, starts in front, and if applied will not be too far from the action
- LION DES ISLES – Showed improvement when 5th of 11 behind LATINUS AVIS (12) in a 2875m Enghien Class E on 18 March. Shoes off again and the engagement of JMB will do his chances no harm
- LEFORT FLIGNY – Imposed at Lisieux before running good 3rd of 13 in a 2450m Caen Class E on 26 March. Is new to the main track, sports a fresh configuration for the occasion, but cannot be considered a priority
- LOUISDOR DECHAMBOU – Got back in the winners’ circle at Toulouse early last month after securing a 2750m Class E but has little to no chance of repeating
- LOTHBROCK – Tricky but talented sort that was quickly sanctioned in a 2875m Enghien Class E on 18 March. Has bags of ability, is behind in earnings, and has a major role to play if applied
- LE TAJ MAHAL – Sanctioned in last 3, most recently when going well in a 2875m Enghien Class E on 18 March. Patently has ability but 3 straight sanctions do nothing to inspire confidence
- LATINUS AVIS – Imposed at Le Croise-Laroche on 8 March prior to coming 2nd of 11 in a 2875m Enghien Class E on 18 March. Is new to the venue but is clearly a progressive sort and will have his chances if he takes to the new profile
- LAPS GEDE – Pleasantly-surprising 4th of 16 in a 2850m Laval Class E late last month. Barefoot this time but has never delivered at Vincennes and is unlikely to start now
Summary: A winner on his only start of the year so far, LUX DE LA MESLIERE (4) returns fresh to Vincennes and from the 4-spot has a realistic chance of getting straight down to business. Starting just to his outer, the complicated LEXCELLENT DU METZ (5) had his way in the provinces late last month and, with stride in check, could well double his money. LATINUS AVIS (12) is like a horse reborn since starting to race barefoot and is plainly close to winning another. LOTHBROCK (10) joins him on the 2nd row but has been reconfigured and will be no easy touch if Mathieu Mottier keeps him focused.

C8 – PRIX EUKRATE – 2850m (a2m) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 59,000 - ETHAN DRIVE – Disappointing in 2 since imposing on 2025 bow, latterly last of 14 behind GAGNEUR (6) in a 2850m Laval Class D late last month. Barefoot this time but chances still limited
- HERMES EXPRESS – Won a Class D under the saddle here before finishing last but one in a 2850m Laval Class D conditioner early last month. Goes barefoot this time and looks a player
- HAUTE COTE DE NUIT – Beaten only by a very good mare in a Class D under these conditions 3 weeks ago. Takes on the boys this time but is as tough as they come and thrives in the day’s configuration. Place prospect
- FINGER DES BORDES – Left a good impression at Enghien before being sanctioned in a Class D over course and distance 3 weeks ago. Goes barefoot again and should not be entirely ruled out
- HISA DU MARGAS – Returns to a previous formula after coming 5th of 15 in a 2450m Caen Class D on 6 March but a repeat seems most improbable
- GAGNEUR – 9th of 14 in a 2850m Laval Class D late last month. Has ample ability but would be preferred competitively-shod
- GALION – Ran 3rd in a Vincennes Class C before coming 6th of 15 in a 2925m Cagnes Class B on 27 February. Appreciates 2850m over the main track and will be competitive for a place in the mix
- HARRY LE BEAU – Takes his chances in Paris after running 3rd of 12 in a 2150m Cagnes Class D on 9 March. Seldom seen here and appears to have too much to do
- GILBERTO – Surprisingly lacklustre 9th of 14 in a 2825m Cordemais Class D in late-February. Receives a Mathieu Mottier drive this time and can play a small role
- GARUDA FLIGNY – 5th of 12 behind HARRY LE BEAU (8) in a 2150m Cagnes Class D on 9 March and will struggle to make his presence felt
- HARDI CROWN – Sanctioned early on re-entry in a 3000m Gr.3 at Salon-de-Provence on 26 March. Has won 2 of 3 with Benjamin Rochard and, with application, can extend that strike-rate
- GARANCIO BELLO – Makes first start since faulting in a 2850m monte Class C over short course on 21 February. Is confirmed in this configuration but others still easier to back
- GAMIN DES ISLES – Missed out by little in a Class D under these conditions 3 weeks ago. Excels with the day’s driver and has a legitimate claim on the silverware
- FLYING BRICKELL – 5th of 13 in a 2700m claimer here on 1 April and even racing barefoot has no possible chance
- HAPPY FACE – Honest sort that ran 2nd of 11 in a 2800m Pontchateau Class D early last month. Has acquitted himself well in both Vincennes starts but represents no more than a minor place prospect
- GRIZZLY BEAR – Last but one behind GAGNEUR (6) on comeback in a 2850m Laval Class D late last month. Will have come on for the run, has been entrusted to Paul Ploquin, and Mattia Monaco could not have asked for a better entry. First 5
Summary: GAMIN DES ISLES (13) is very hard to knock when barefoot and even harder to fault with Jean-Michel Bazire in the bike. The pair was just beaten here last month and JMB will be out to put things right. HARDI CROWN (11) boasts decent credentials under these conditions and Benjamin Rochard will be keen to make amends for his charge’s recent sanction. Barring a late-January blip, HAUTE COTE DE NUIT (3) has been in cracking form and is shod as she was here in February. HERMES EXPRESS (2) has imposed multiple times with Eric Raffin and will be barefoot following a Laval freshener. GALION (7) held his own in good company at Cagnes in late-February and has the wherewithal to finish closer this time.

Summary: LAZIO BUROIS (3) has won all three of his barefoot races. He drops in distance, but that should not be a problem and he can add to his win tally. LUPIN DE BEAUFOUR (2) is not reliable but could go one better this time after a solid last performance. LEOPARD (10) has held his form of late and can contest the finish.
