Summary: MOTION (2) gets the nod despite a couple of unplaced efforts since his Class 2 handicap win at Parislongchamp in early June. He is preferred over GALEGO STAR (6), who, while also out of the frame in recent starts, ran a respectable sixth last time and could pose a threat. VOLCANO (5) made an encouraging debut when third at Saint-Cloud in early June and appears the main danger. LIBYAN KNIGHT (1) is a reliable each-way prospect and could put in a bold effort, while FRANKLIN AL GUNAY (4) looks best of the remainder.

He is the tentative selection ahead of DORIANELLO (2), who was a credible third two runs ago at Saint-Cloud on July 4th. HARTWOOD MAN (3) has the talent to make the two already mentioned work hard for success. ROMANELLO (1) ran a solid race when second on his penultimate start at this track in mid-June and warrants respect.

- THE WASP – Several unplaced runs of late, the most recent over 1800m in a handicap on July 2nd at Clairefontaine. Each way angle
Summary: In a race lacking depth, SECULIER (6) makes the most appeal, having shown enough ability to win a race of this calibre. He is the tentative pick ahead of KISSAKO (3), who ran a promising third in a maiden at Nort-sur-Erdre on June 1st and remains open to improvement. PADDOCKWOOD (1) and GALAXINA (2) look set to battle it out for the minor honours.

- THINK GIANT – Good win over 2000m in a Class 2 race at Chantilly on June 24th. He looks progressive and has a live chance of scoring
Summary: THINK GIANT (8) brings strong credentials, having won impressively in a Class 2 race at Chantilly in late June. He is preferred over NIZAM (1), who was unbeaten in two starts last year and has been highly tried this season; back in calmer waters, he can be a factor. UTHRED (3) wasn’t beaten far in Listed company last time and deserves respect, while DIOPTASE (6) arrives in good form with two wins from his last three outings and should be in the mix at the finish.

- ANDANOTHERGLORY – Three unplaced efforts this year, 1600m at Vittel in a maiden race on July 7th. Look for an alternative
Summary: DIPLOMATE (2) was a pleasing second two runs back at Nort-Sur-Erdre in late April and has a leading chance on his handicap debut. ROYAL ENCLOSURE (3) can be competitive and was a credible fourth at Chantilly on his last run earlier this month. NOTA BENE (8) got a confidence-boosting success at Vittel in a handicap on July 7th and should have a say in proceedings. BRASILIA (1) is also worth considering.

- ROOBA – 5th on both starts, the latter over 1600m at this track in a maiden race on March 28th. Place contender
- REBECCA ROSE – Unraced filly by Belardo, the dam won 1 race. From a respected stable who knows the time of day. Likely to improve from this run and is best watched
Summary: LES DIGGERS (8) seems to have improved with each race. Her third at Chantilly in April was a positive, and she can be expected to be fit after almost 3 months off. Her main danger could be VICKY (5), who has been placed on both starts, the latter over 1600m in early June at Hoppergarten in Germany. KODIACOLOR (1) has been consistent and deserves to break her maiden after four placed efforts. She can make her rivals work hard. ROOBA (9) is also worth a mention.

- WOFF – Two unplaced runs since a 3rd over 1600m at Compiegne in a Class 3 handicap on May 30th. Opposable
- MA MOME – 4th on the last run over 1400m at Vichy in a Class 3 handicap on July 15th. Looks vulnerable
Summary: ROOFTOP (8) was slightly below his best last time but can be forgiven that run. He’s better judged on his strong second in a Class 2 handicap at Lyon-Parilly in May, and a repeat of that performance would make him the one to beat. PRIDE OF AMERICA (1) is a key danger; although burdened with top weight, he’s been competing in stronger races and has held his own. TALENTUOSO (4) is a reliable each-way contender, while WE RIDE THE WORLD (5) should be in the mix. SERINES (6), a last-time-out winner at Parislongchamp in late May, also merits respect.

GOLDEN ALQA (1) showed good resolve to get her form back on track with a win and she can be competitive again against similar. - ANNALIGHT – Dam was unraced and this filly doesn’t make much appeal on paper. One to pass by
Summary: NUENCE’K (5) performed with credit on debut and would have tightened up with that effort under the belt. She gets valuable weight off the back and will enjoy the step up in trip. GARIGA (7) has produced two pleasing runs to date and is going about her business in the right manner. She should contest the finish. - VERMELHO – Will need to build on last run at Prague over 1600m and others should be stronger. Hard to make a case for and can be ignored

DOURIANN (1) is a tad erratic but on very best form can threaten all the way home and is a serious runner. LA PELEMOISE (6) can be forgiven the last run and judged on the penultimate effort. - KARAWAN – Finished 7th of ten on debut at Dieppe on 7 July over 9f. Likely to improve for the run but remains hard to fancy
- NIPPE DE STAR – Has captured the attention in both his runs having placed 3rd and 4th respectively . Most recent effort was at Chateaubriant over 2650m on the 10th of this month. Strong each way claims
- ROMANTIC REVIVAL – Only managed a 7th place finish at Erbray over 2200m in a weak claiming race on the 22nd of last month. Hard to fancy
- OLYMPIQUE DES BOIS – Has been finishing way back recently and is hard to make a case for and hard to assess and predict. Would be a shock winner
- BELLE LUMIERE – Improving quickly, finished 3rd at Lyon La Soie over 1800m on the 16th of December and despite the layoff, can go close. Enters the equation
- HERMANCE – Will need to improve off dismal debut 15th place finish over 1400m at Dieppe earlier this month and probably can. Others preferred for today
- SPRING LILY – She will need to progress on current and overall form, placed 5th at Compiegne over 1400m last time and others are preferred. Pass by
- AVANT NOUS – Placed 5th at Down Royal over 2100m on the 21st of June. Brings some fair overall form with her into France from Ireland and is selected to get off to winning ways
- CAMICA – Unraced daughter of Le Brivido out of a Areion mare that should need a few starts to tighten up. Unlikely to trouble the judge on debut and can be overlooked
- DALYAMIX – Is out of a one time winning mare and is likely to need this debut run. Ignore unless the betting trend shows otherwise
Summary: AVANT NOUS (10) comes to France with solid Irish form, having finished 5th at Down Royal over 2100m in late June. It will be interesting to see how she fares here and is selected to make a winning local debut. NIPPE DE STAR (4) has run two very creditable races and should find the winners box soon. Good, strong each way claims. MISTER BANKER (1) was far from ashamed when making the first racecourse appearance at Clairefontaine and will have scope to do better now and BELLE LUMIERE (7) is improving with each and every run and can be expected to go close.
