    Summary: MOTION (2) gets the nod despite a couple of unplaced efforts since his Class 2 handicap win at Parislongchamp in early June. He is preferred over GALEGO STAR (6), who, while also out of the frame in recent starts, ran a respectable sixth last time and could pose a threat. BLACK HAWK (5) appeals as a solid each-way option, while I’M A BELIEVER (1) completes the shortlist.

    Summary: CHAMPAGNE POWDER (7), trained in the UK by Paul and Oliver Cole, looks well placed to make the trip worthwhile. His runner-up finish at this track two starts ago was a solid performance. VOLCANO (5) made an encouraging debut when third at Saint-Cloud in early June and appears the main danger. LIBYAN KNIGHT (1) is a reliable each-way prospect and could put in a bold effort, while FRANKLIN AL GUNAY (4) looks best of the remainder.

    Summary: AMOUAGE (9) ran well at Chantilly when he was fourth earlier this month in a Class 3 handicap. He is the tentative selection ahead of DORIANELLO (2), who was a credible third two runs ago at Saint-Cloud on July 4th. HARTWOOD MAN (3) has the talent to make the two already mentioned work hard for success. ROMANELLO (1) ran a solid race when second on his penultimate start at this track in mid-June and warrants respect.

He is the tentative pick ahead of KISSAKO (3), who ran a promising third in a maiden at Nort-sur-Erdre on June 1st and remains open to improvement. PADDOCKWOOD (1) and GALAXINA (2) look set to battle it out for the minor honours.

    Summary: THINK GIANT (8) brings strong credentials, having won impressively in a Class 2 race at Chantilly in late June. He is preferred over NIZAM (1), who was unbeaten in two starts last year and has been highly tried this season; back in calmer waters, he can be a factor. UTHRED (3) wasn’t beaten far in Listed company last time and deserves respect, while DIOPTASE (6) arrives in good form with two wins from his last three outings and should be in the mix at the finish.

NOTA BENE (8) got a confidence-boosting success at Vittel in a handicap on July 7th and should have a say in proceedings. BRASILIA (1) is also worth considering.

    Summary: LES DIGGERS (8) seems to have improved with each race. Her third at Chantilly in April was a positive, and she can be expected to be fit after almost 3 months off. Her main danger could be VICKY (5), who has been placed on both starts, the latter over 1600m in early June at Hoppergarten in Germany. KODIACOLOR (1) has been consistent and deserves to break her maiden after four placed efforts. She can make her rivals work hard. ROOBA (9) is also worth a mention.

    Summary: ROOFTOP (8) was slightly below his best last time but can be forgiven that run. He’s better judged on his strong second in a Class 2 handicap at Lyon-Parilly in May, and a repeat of that performance would make him the one to beat. PRIDE OF AMERICA (1) is a key danger; although burdened with top weight, he’s been competing in stronger races and has held his own. TALENTUOSO (4) is a reliable each-way contender, while WE RIDE THE WORLD (5) should be in the mix. SERINES (6), a last-time-out winner at Parislongchamp in late May, also merits respect.

KHAMEPHIS GAME (3) hasn’t been seen on the racetrack for a while but has the ability to feature if fit and ready to go. KING DINO (1) is a low milage six year old who is still open to improvement and can threaten if in good heart. IN MY LIFE (6) is best of the rest but will have her work cut out to feature.

    Summary: BALLADE EN BARQUE (4) produced a good finish to land the spoils over a similar trip last time out and with his confidence boosted, he can go back to back. GOLDEN ALQA (1) showed good resolve to get her form back on track with a win and she can be competitive again against similar. GONDOLO (3) has bits and pieces of form to his name which brings him into this with a place chance. BLACK TIE (6) won at a weaker center but is open to further improvement.

  24. ZILIKHA – Dam won once over 1600m and this filly comes from a yard that know how to get them ready on debut. Follow the market
  25. ADVENTURA – Dam won twice over 1300m/1400m and this filly is likely to need the outing. Others make more appeal
  26. ANNALIGHT – Dam was unraced and this filly doesn’t make much appeal on paper. One to pass by
    Summary: NUENCE’K (5) performed with credit on debut and would have tightened up with that effort under the belt. She gets valuable weight off the back and will enjoy the step up in trip. GARIGA (7) has produced two pleasing runs to date and is going about her business in the right manner. She should contest the finish. DIEGO DE LA VEGA (8) hails from a yard that can ready them up on debut and she is a filly that warrants careful consideration. RUE EBLE (1) wasn’t disgraced on debut and should have more to offer that his second attempt.

    Summary: TREMBLANT (1) arrives in solid, hard knocking form and can go one better than he has done at his last two. He drops in company and is the one to beat. FUCHSIA (4) hasn’t been beaten far in a couple of her recent outings and with some weight off the back, she should be involved at the finish. SIXTUS (2) has the right type of form to make his presence felt and will be in the shake up once again. JASMIN DORE (3) has fair form to her name in slightly stronger races and is a likely type here.

    Summary: AVANT NOUS (10) comes to France with solid Irish form, having finished 5th at Down Royal over 2100m in late June. It will be interesting to see how she fares here and is selected to make a winning local debut. NIPPE DE STAR (4) has run two very creditable races and should find the winners box soon.     Summary: A very tricky lucky last race. JOS MAZA (8) starts in the second row but appears to have ability and could win, so gets a narrow vote.     Summary: IERMES DE GUEZ (10) is not easy to trust but has been in good form lately and could be the right one for this opening event. IRMYLA DE SOMMAIRE (11) showed improvement at Vincennes and can go one better with a bit of luck in running. INSIGHT SPOKEN (12) hasn’t been at his best this year but is showing signs of a return to form. HUDSON BAIE (8) has disqualification issues but wouldn’t be a surprise winner if he keeps his act together.

JUST A COUET (9) was not disgraced at Vincennes in June and is consistent, so must be respected for that. MILAN DU BOSQUET (4) is consistent and looks likely to win a race soon.

LOKO (8) has improved recently and was third in that same race on 13 July—he has a winning chance. LIGNEE VENDEENNE (12) appears to have put disqualification issues behind her and could be ready to strike.
