Beaten on debut at Beverley but then a Nottingham maiden winner, Ryan felt his charge was worth a shot in the Norfolk Stakes, where he was sent off a 100-1 shot.
He defied those odds to finish a three-and-a-half-length fourth to Charles Darwin and a repeat of that kind of form should put him right in the mix here.
