R1 CABOURG [R-H]
C1 – PRIX DE LISIEUX – 2750m (a1m1/2) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 29,000
- LOVELY TRIP – Last of 12 finishers in a Class D over course and distance 3 weeks ago but is clearly being aimed too high
- KRONOS DE TROIS – Ran 2nd at Mauquenchy before coming 4th of 7 finishers in a 2300m Chateaubriant Class F a fortnight back. Sports 4 pads for first time and should not be underestimated
- LYRA POTERIE – Tricky filly that finished last but one in a 2725m Class D here a month back. Has a lot more going for her this time and on good behaviour is unlikely to disappoint
- JOKER BODENSEE – Unplaced in last 2, most recently 7th of 10 finishers in a 2875m Meslay-du-Maine Class F on 15 August, and can be confidently ruled out
- LAST DES BROUSSES – Surprising 3rd of 10 in a 2150m Enghien Class D on 2 August. Appears to be close to his best and will not be sent out at 78/1 this time
- LA TRINITE NEMO – Was competitive for a place when eliminated in a Class D under these conditions 3 weeks ago. Is an excellent servant for the most part and with stride in check can make a big impact
- LULU DES CARREAUX – Made amends for Enghien clinker when dominating a Class E over course and distance 10 days ago. In tougher company this time but is 25m better off and can double his money
- JILINO – Got back in the game a week ago when 4th of 10 in a 2875m Class H at Bagnoles-de-l’Orne. Enjoys a good entry but is still out of his depth
- JULLOU – Reassuring 3rd of 14 in a 2875m amateurs Class G at Meslay-du-Maine last week but is taking on too much this time
- KHAMSA – Classy mare that ran 10th of 11 behind KAZACHOK (11) when being prepared for this in a 2150m Argentan Class D 2 weeks ago. Is still in conditioning-mode though and best to hold off
- KAZACHOK – Sports 4 pads for first time after running 5th of 11 in a 2150m Argentan Class D 2 weeks ago. On back row but can still play an active role
- JAMAICA D’OYSE – Ran 4th in good company here on 25 July prior to finishing 6th of 16 in a 3450m Agon Class E a fortnight later. Incurs the penalty but still has the capacity to make first 5
Summary: Advantage to those starting in front here and recent course-and-distance winner LULU DES CARREAUX (7) is easy to fancy for a repeat performance. Opposing him here, LA TRINITE NEMO (6) will be expected to bounce back from her recent elimination, and LYRA POTERIE (3) who sports a new configuration and will be reined by Yoann Lebourgeois for the first time. LAST DES BROUSSES (5) gave a reassuringly good account at Enghien 3 weeks ago and returns to racing clockwise with a good hand to play.

C2 – PRIX DE VILLEDIEU LES POÊLES – 2050m (a1m1/4) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 25,000 - LOU D’ECROVILLE – Sanctioned for the 4th time in succession when faulting in a 2150m Argentan Class D a fortnight ago and others easier to trust
- LUNE DE L’EMION – 7th of 9 finishers on re-entry in a 2750m Class E here 10 days ago. Starts in front but is going to need another run
- LOUBIANA DU BOURG – Eliminated on return to competition 11 days ago, after faulting in a 2850m Brehal Class E. Has shown significant talent, has twice won right-handed, and is ideally-placed to give this a good go
- LOLA D’OHARA – Got off the mark in a 2950m Biarritz Class E 3 weeks ago, at 19th time of asking. Is barefoot as she was when 2nd at Feurs, benefits from a terrific draw, and should not be overlooked
- LADY MAJOR – 4th of 10 in a 2150m Argentan Class D on 9 August. Gets a top pilot this time and from the 5-spot will have her chances
- LIO DE PIENCOURT – Back under harness after being eliminated in a 2450m Caen monte Class F in late-May. Is barefoot with David Thomain in the bike, but still looks an outsider
- LILY ROSE MYSTIC – Made up for June blip when making short work of a 2700m Class E at La Capelle a month ago. Drawn wide but still looks a serious proposition
- LUCKY LADY D’AMOUR – Makes first appearance since being eliminated in a 2325m Toulouse monte Class D in early-May. Shoes on and no threat
- LOVE ME ALWAYS – Last of 10 behind LADY DE NEUILLY (13) in a 2875m Enghien Class E on 27 July. Goes barefoot this time but appears to be taking on too much
- LADY DE JANEIRO – Sanctioned early in a 2750m Class E here a month ago. Handed a 2nd line draw and will struggle to make her presence felt
- LAURA SISSI – Showed marked improvement when 2nd of 11 in a 2725m Class E here a week ago. Has form here and while unlikely to win this, can nonetheless finish in the mix
- LUGACHA – Returns to racing barefoot after finishing 8th of 11 in a 2150m Enghien Class D a month ago. Franck Nivard at the helm but still not a priority
- LADY DE NEUILLY – Non partante
- LEWISIA DE LATOM – Has taken her game to a new level recently, lastly winning a 2750m Class E here late last month. Has been reconfigured, and Robin Lamy would have preferred a better draw, but still looks a respectable first-5 prospect
Summary: A fine filly with an excellent record, LADY DE NEUILLY (13) may not be the best-positioned here but she runs barefoot on sand for the first time and should still be good enough to win this. LILY ROSE MYSTIC (7) however, did get back in the winners’ circle last time out and will be no pushover if she stays in stride. Hard to knock of late, LADY MAJOR (5) is first-time barefoot and has been entrusted to Yoann Lebourgeois. LOUBIANA DU BOURG (3) is not the easiest of horses to handle but she has ample ability and will have come on for her re-entry run.

C3 – PRIX DE GRAIGNES – 2725m (a1m1/2) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 26,000 - KALINKA DU HOME – Got back in the winners’ circle at Amiens before running 5th of 9 finishers in a 2750m Class E here 10 days ago. Enjoys a terrific entry and Joachim Brandon Lelièvre will be eager to oblige
- KIRENE FLASH – Runner-up in last 3 starts, most recently a 2600m Class E at Le Mont-Saint-Michel in mid-July. Handed a decent draw and is eminently capable of getting her nose in front this time
- KALIPETTE JELOCA – 8th of 14 on comeback in a Class E over course and distance 2 weeks ago. Nicely in on the front line, and barefoot for the occasion, but represents a minor place chance at best
- KATANE DU CORTA – Finished last of 10 on re-entry in a 2700m Graignes Class F 2 weeks ago. Is barefoot and nicely placed behind the car this time and must be considered a contender
- KIRA DE CAHOT – Left a good impression when 4th of 8 in a 2875m Meslay-du-Maine Class E late last month. Is by no means a priority but will have her supporters
- KHARA DRY – Last but one behind KALIPETTE JELOCA (3) on re-entry in a 2750m Class F here on 25 July and has no realistic chance
- KAPELLA DAIRPET – Took little time showing her form following a lengthy break, coming 2nd of 16 in a 2875m Enghien Class E last week. Is still progressing and looks a major player once more
- KALI DES LANDIERS – Back racing with shoes fitted after running 5th of 11 in a 2475m Francheville Class F last Sunday and will not be taking Cabourg by storm
- KALINE DJOB – Could have finished closer than 5th of 14 behind KATINKA COTON (12) in a 2750m Class F here 2.5 weeks ago had she been afforded a run. Was at 89/1 that day and others easier to back
- KISSES ROYALE – Eliminated in last 2, latterly a 2875m Enghien Class E last week. Not the most courageous of horses but can play a part if Yoann Lebourgeois keeps her focused
- KSARYA DE CHENU – Failed to confirm Vichy success when last of 12 behind KIRA DE CAHOT (5) in a 2750m Ecommoy Class F a month ago and is unlikely to generate much interest
- KATINKA COTON – Beaten only by a good horse in a 2750m Class F here 2.5 weeks ago. Not ideally drawn but should prove no problem over 2725m and with stride in check could pleasantly surprise
- KALANSKA – 4th behind KIRENE FLASH (2) at Le Mont-Saint-Michel before repeating behind KATINKA COTON (12) in a 2750m Class F here 2.5 weeks ago. On back row with Pierre-Yves Verva reining and has a decent chance of making first 4
Summary: Reinvigorated lately, and very effective with David Thomain in the bike, KIRENE FLASH (2) is clearly close to her race and returns to racing barefoot with a realistic chance of opening her 2025 account. KAPELLA DAIRPET (7) showed her form at Enghien last week and even though drawn wide still looks the main threat. KATANE DU CORTA (4) always gives her best, has a race under her belt, and with shoes off is unlikely to disappoint. Less favourably drawn but solid here earlier in the month, KATINKA COTON (12) will be no easy touch.

C4 – PRIX D’ARGENTAN – 2750m (a1m1/2) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 37,000 - JALDO D’OCQUE – Failed to confirm Mont-Saint-Michel performance when 9th of 13 in a 2700m Class F at Aix-les-Bains on 5 August. Is unbeaten here though and should logically start to show improvement
- DADA DEL RONCO – Has not been seen out since dominating a 2100m Vincennes Class E in late- April. Is barefoot for re-entry, with Franck Nivard in the bike, and must be taken seriously
- FROU FROU – Yet to get into his stride this term, latterly last of 13 in a 2725m Class E here 2.5 weeks ago. Is plainly capable on a good day but must first reaffirm his credentials
- ANOTHER CREATION – Last of 13 to JOURNEE REVEE (6) in a Class D over track and trip on 4 July. Has failed to make any impression after returning from a lengthy hiatus and can be ruled out
- DRAGOWSKI – Placed in Toulouse before running an unlucky 6th of 13 to JOURNEE REVEE in a Class D over track and trip on 4 July. Boasts an enviable strike-rate and looks competitively well in
- JOURNEE REVEE – Won over course and distance in early-July but eliminated in a 2150m Enghien Class B a fortnight back. Boasts a remarkable Cabourg record and looks the pick of the lot again
- JUST DE L’OISON – Good 2nd of 9 on re-entry 2 weeks ago in a 2650m Class D at Les Sables-d’Olonne. Won his lone start at the venue and can confirm
- JET EXPRESS – Tenacious 3rd of 11 in a 2500m Class C at La Rochelle on 28 July. Has a particular liking for the venue and in current condition is easy to recommend for a place in the frame
- GATSBY WIC – 7th of 11 finishers in a 2400m Amiens Class D in late-July. Springs the occasional surprise but with shoes back on is not about to spice things up
- ICARE DE PHYT’S – Starts for the first time since being pulled-up in a 2875m Enghien Class D mid-June. Shoes on and no threat
- L.A.BOKO – 5th of 13 in a 2150m Enghien Class D on 19 July. Has solid references over longer and if focused will be competitive for a cheque
- IKURO JIEL – Easy winner of a 2250m Enghien monte Class C early this month but was subsequently eliminated. Returns to racing barefoot but is here for reasons of conditioning and is unlikely to influence the outcome
- GASOLIN – Last but one behind L.A. BOKO in a 2150m Enghien Class D on 19 July. Out of the picture in all 3 starts this summer but benefits from a good entry and will be worth monitoring
Summary: A tricky character she may be but JOURNEE REVEE (6) left a very good impression here in July and can impose if Jean-Philippe Dubois manages to keep her trotting. That said, JUST DE L’OISON (7) seldom lets the side down, is unbeaten here, and will have come on for his return run. Reassuring at La Rochelle late last month, JET EXPRESS (8) appreciates Cabourg conditions and merits considerable respect. DRAGOWSKI (5) has solid references at this level and is reunited with Gabriele Gelormini. L.A.BOKO (11) consistently gives everything he has and should prove competitive.

C5 – PRIX D’ALENCON – 2750m (a1m1/2) – Class E Race – Mounted – EUR € 33,000 - GINKGO ROCQ – 6th of 8 finishers in a 2875m Argentan Class E 2 weeks ago and will need to find considerably more
- IDEAL D’ARTONGES – Ran 3rd under the saddle at Amiens before finishing 12th of 15 in a 3025m harness Class D at Montier-en-Der on 19 July. In superior company this time and not an obvious choice
- INDIAN FIGHTER – Gives the monte code another go after running 4th of 12 in a harness Class D over course and distance 3 weeks ago, but chances nevertheless seem limited
- HAZOE DES GLENAN – Good, consistent mare than ran 4th of 9 in a 2875m Enghien Class D on 9 August. Seldom disappoints here and, reverting to racing with 4 pads, is unlikely to return home empty-handed
- HYM SUBLIGNAIS – Runner-up in his last 3 starts, latterly to IVRE DE TOI (8) in a 3100m Vibraye Class E a week ago. Will be rewarded one of these days but may once again have to settle for a place cheque
- IDYLLE COPAISE – Was preparing for this when 8th of 10 in a harness Class E over course and distance on Tuesday and backs up with a realistic chance of imposing
- HELL GIRL CHATHO – Back under the saddle after finishing 9th of 12 in a 2750m Ecommoy Class F a month back. Left a good impression at Caen last time in the discipline and is shod as she was that day. First 5
- IVRE DE TOI – Comfortable winner of a 3100m Vibraye Class E a week ago. Hard to knock when barefoot and focused and a repeat is not out of the question
- GENTLEMAN LOVER – Out of the picture in all 3 starts this term, latterly last but one in a 3450m Agon Class E a fortnight ago. Eliminated in all 3 ridden outings and is not about to change his ways
- IN LOVE REGLISSE – Easy winner of a harness Class E under these conditions late last month. Has also imposed here in the ridden code and will be no soft touch
Summary: Back in her code of preference after being conditioned under harness, IDYLLE COPAISE (6) went close under these conditions earlier in the year and looks good enough to win a race of this nature. IN LOVE REGLISSE (10), on the other hand, is as good in one code as the other and Esteban De Jesus will be confident he can confirm his latest harness victory. A terrific campaigner in this branch of the game, IVRE DE TOI (8) is not incapable of repeating her Vibraye success. Second to her that day, HYM SUBLIGNAIS (5) can again finish in the mix.

C6 – PRIX DE BOURIGNY – 2050m (a1m1/4) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 22,000 - MAJOR DU MAINE – Useful type that ran 4th of 7 in a 2400m Amiens Class E late last month. Starts on the inside here and can expect to find this a stiff test
- MIRADOR PLANCHETTE – Made up for July clinker when 3rd of 13 in a 2725m Class E here 2 weeks ago. Decently placed behind the car and with his mind on the game can again finish thereabouts
- MILLE MERCIS – Got off the mark late last month prior to finishing last but one in a 2150m Argentan Class E a fortnight ago. Has been handed a decent draw though and Jean-Philippe Dubois will be eager to take advantage
- MAGNUS DE FLEUR – Stormed up in a 2850m Brehal Class F on 11 August. Unlikely to be any less effective on sand and can double his money
- MULTIPASS – Eliminated in 2 before running 6th of 9 in a 2150m Mauquenchy Class E on 24 July and has a lot more to find
- MIDNIGHT WAY – Eliminated on debut but has been consistent since, latterly 3rd of 13 in a 2200m Agon Class E on 25 July. Starts on front line and should be good enough to challenge for a place in the frame
- MINUS DE CHENU – Starts for the first time since comfortably winning a 2200m Vichy Class F on 24 June. Comes here fresh and despite the wide draw can still play a small role
- MACHO PERRINE – Debuts on a hard surface after running 2nd of 13 to MAGNUS DE FLEUR (4) in a 2850m Brehal Class F on 11 August. Forced to break from 2nd row but still looks a serious proposition
- MOMENT MAJYC – Debuted nicely at Avranches before winning a 2750m Class F at La Ferte-Vidame early this month, but appears to be taking on too much this time
- MICA DE FARCHAT – Pleased under the saddle at Caen before being eliminated in a 2700m Class F at La Capelle a month back. Is plainly in form though and should not be entirely written off
- MAESTRO VET – Lost his action when on course for victory in a 2650m Portbail Class F on 10 August. Gets to race on sand for first time which may just prove key to his rehabilitation
- MISTRAL DES SABLES – Eliminated in a 2500m Chinon Class H a week ago. Has yet to show any particular ability and can be passed over
- MY BUDDY – Courageous 5th of 10 in a claimer over course and distance 10 days ago but in this company will have too much to do
- MAX DE LA NOE – Failed to confirm Guerlesquin performance when eliminated in a 2500m Vibraye Class F a week ago and under these conditions has no possible chance
Summary: Unopposed winner on turf recently, MAGNUS DE FLEUR (4) finds himself ideally-placed on the front line and Yoann Lebourgeois will be expecting to double his money. Runner-up to him that day after having imposed first time out, MACHO PERRINE (8) has been handed a tough number but Franck Nivard will not be unduly concerned. MIDNIGHT WAY (6) has been progressing nicely and deserves to take his chances here. MAESTRO VET (11) would have won at Portbail had he stayed trotting and Bertrand Le Beller will be determined to set the record straight.

- NIKITA DE BLARY – 4th of 9 in a 2250m Enghien Class D on 19 July. Entrusted to David Thomain this time and will be one to watch
- NIZZA ROCCA – Encountered a very good colt when 2nd of 8 in a 2150m Class E at Les Sables-d’Olonne a fortnight ago. No colts to face this time, will have progressed for the race, and could well have her day in the sun
- NATIVE DE PLAY – 3rd of 9, a place behind NOELA JOSSELYN (5), in a Class E under these conditions 2.5 weeks ago. Has more to find but can still challenge for a spot on the podium
- NOELA JOSSELYN – Good 2nd of 9 in a Class E under these conditions 2.5 weeks ago. Has bags of untapped potential and every chance of getting off the mark
- NAYARA – 3rd of 7 in a 2250m Enghien Class D late last month despite losing her action. Gets to start in front here and is unlikely to be far off the mark
- NEVADARA – Showed improvement when 3rd of 6 in a 2475m Francheville Class E last Friday. Forced to break wide and cannot be considered a contender
- NIGHT DE BANVILLE – Qualified in an unremarkable 1’20″7 at Caen 3 weeks ago. Handed an unfavourable number and others easier to back
- NIGHT ERCA – Courageous but unthreatening 5th of 9 behind NOELA JOSSELYN (5) in a Class E under these conditions 2.5 weeks ago and is not about to improve on that
- NOBLESSE OBLIGE EC – Qualified in 1’17″9 at Caen on 17 July. Not ideally-positioned for career debut though and is unlikely to shake things up
- NESTOLA – Racecourse debutante that qualified in 1’19″9 at Caen a fortnight ago and from the back row is unlikely to create an upset
- NOBILITY – 4th of 9 in a 2250m Class G at La Ferte-Vidame on 3 August. Should have no issue with the hard surface and despite a poor draw, can still figure prominently at the business end of the race
- NEBELINE LEMAN – Unplaced in both to date, latterly 6th of 9 behind NOBILITY (12) in a 2250m Class G at La Ferte-Vidame earlier in the month, and can be confidently passed over
- NEBULEUSE FLIGNY – Qualified in 1’20″2 at Caen early last month. Has pulled a tough number for racecourse bow and chances appear slim
Summary: After qualifying nicely at Caen in May, NOELA JOSSELYN (5) was beaten only by a very good horse on debut here earlier this month and can open her account this time. NATIVE DE PLAY (4) ran a place behind her that day and can again figure prominently, but will first have to see off the promising NIZZA ROCCA (3) who is nicely placed in front, and NAYARA (6) who pleased at Enghien despite being unsure of stride.

- MADERE – Showed improvement when 4th of 11 to MISS GRAIGNES (9) in a 2375m Dozule Class F on 13 August. Cannot be considered a priority on this occasion though
- MAYO DES FLOTS – Quickly eliminated in a Class F under these conditions 2.5 weeks ago. Has no right-handed references and chances appear limited
- MALAGA DU DIGEON – Makes first start since running 3rd of 9, on career debut, in a 2950m Vichy harness Class F mid-June. Makes first start for the Bonne stable and must be considered a serious player
- MADONE ROCHEL – Last of 5 at Graignes before being eliminated in a 2150m Biarritz Class D on 10 July, and will not be troubling the judge
- MADAME DE MORNY – Just missed out, on ridden debut 2.5 weeks ago, in a Class F over course and distance. Is plainly a decent filly in the making and can again figure prominently
- MIMI RAUDIERE – Makes ridden bow almost a month after finishing 5th of 11 in a 2200m Agon Class E. Takes on some good elements this time and others preferred
- MISS SPEED – Lost her maiden status at first time of asking, lifting a 2625m harness Class G at Saint-Jean-de-Monts late last month. Oscar Placier in charge this time and can be confident of another big performance. Chance
- MISS GRAIGNES – Got off the mark in a 2375m Dozule Class F last week. Will have come on for the run and although unlikely to double up can nevertheless play an active role
- MAGIE DE GUIBRAY – Pleasantly surprising 3rd of 10 finishers, a place behind MADAME DE MORNY (6), in a Class F over course and distance 2.5 weeks ago, and in similar form can pick up another cheque
- MALICIA – Debuts in the discipline after being eliminated in a 2300m Bernay Class E on 13 July, and is not about to influence the result
- MIMI D’AUVILLIER – Unremarkable 4th of 8 finishers, on ridden debut, in a Class F over track and trip on 18 July. Is unlikely to spring any surprises but can nonetheless hold her own
- MONA GALAA – Returns to the code after finishing last of 10 on comeback in a harness claimer over course and distance 10 days ago. Is not the worst horse here but still seems to be taking on too much
- MALICIA JIEL – Makes first appearance since being eliminated in a 2550m Reims Class E on 17 May. Is already a winner under the saddle and can get in on the action if she gets off on the right foot
- MAGGY PAULO – Showed improvement when 4th of 8 finishers in a 2150m Class E at Les Sables-d’Olonne last week. Has yet to show any particular bent for the code but can still get a look in
Summary: Switched to the ridden code after living up to expectations on her harness debut late-July, MISS SPEED (8) is not incapable of repeating. Oscar Placier will still be vigilant of MALAGA DU DIGEON (4) who moved yards after her promising June bow. MADAME DE MORNY (6) left a very good impression here earlier in the month and should again prove competitive, as should MISS GRAIGNES (9) who opened her monte account last week.

- GURVAN – Finished 3rd in a Maiden at Dieppe on 22 July. Faces stronger this time and tries the trip for the first time
- EMERALD ISLAND – Ran 2nd in a Maiden over 2200m at Dieppe on 22 July. Will need to show more in this company but could place

- AUSMAS FAL – An unraced 3yo colt by Australia out of Quality Road mare Masaaqaat trained by Gavin Hernon. Mare has only had one previous runner who has two 2 places from 8 starts
Summary: There is no doubt about the staying ability of FILLE DU HAVRE (7). Barring any incident, she should once again fight it out for top honours. Although still immature, LE CONQUERANT (3) should improve with each race. Much talked about recently, KANDO (2) also seems capable of winning a race like this. BAGAZ (1) has just made an excellent debut in the stayers’ ranks among so he could surprise.

Summary: SILVER TOWER (5) has won three of her last five races and is in good form, but she needs to prove she will handle the extra distance. ETREHAM (4), however, meets her under more favourable weight conditions and will try to reverse their last form line. GWO KA (1) comes off a good run on the sand, but is just as effective on grass. On his best form LE ROI LEON (3) would have a say against a field of this nature.

- CENTRICAL – Ran 3rd in a Handicap ovet 2400m at La Teste on 5 August. Drops in class so this looks an ideal opportunity for him, especially with Warren Levesque in the irons
Summary: CENTRICAL (10) has raced against a lot stronger and finds himself with a very favourable entry. However, the opposition is decent, headed up by ACOTANGO (2), an easy winner of his last attempt at this level. After a dry spell, GALEGO STAR (3) has shown some of his old spark and is in to confirm his well-being. I’M A BELIEVER (1) is capable of winning if the race comes down to a sprint.

Summary: PROMETHEAN (7) had shown some ability as a 2-year-old in France before earning his living across the Channel. He is returning in the hope of finally opening his account. Timing will be the key for QUESTURA (12) as she attempts to finally pick up a win following two promising runner-up spots. - DANICA – Two unplaced efforts, the latter over 1400m at Vichy in a maiden on July 15th. She can improve, and the drop in class is a positive
Summary: MON POTE LEO (1) opened his account in a 1600m maiden at La Teste 17 days ago and is fancied to follow up. UTXA (7) rates the main danger, having shown consistent placed form in maidens, including a third over 1600m at Vittel in late July. DANICA (11) has hinted at ability in stronger company and may find improvement now dropped into a claimer. LAKE DREAM (8), placed on her last two starts, also warrants respect.

Summary: MONTGAUDRY (7) is racing off quite an attractive handicap rating, and if emulating his third-place effort in the Spring at Fontainebleau, he can get off the mark. ALAMSAR (10) does pose a threat. He ran a credible race when fifth at Deauville in a Class 4 handicap earlier this month on his last start. TERRA MADRE (4) shaped well to be fifth at Compiegne late in July and is better than his form figures. BAKHCHISARAY (6) makes up the shortlist.

- ARCUBIATU – Two 5th placed efforts of late, the most recent over 1800m at this track on August 2nd in a Class 3 handicap. Can get back to winning form
- INATTENDU – 6th on the last run over 1600m at this track in a Class 3 handicap on July 26th. Has dropped in the rating and a better run is anticipated
- ELKABIER – Showed more when 4th at Dieppe over 1800m in a Class 4 race on August 4th after a few unplaced efforts previously. One to pay attention to
- BONNIE ELIZABETH – Unplaced last time, 2nd previously over 1850m in a Class 4 claimer at Vichy on July 17th. Merits consideration
- AFRICAN GREY – Has been out of form, made no show over 1800m in a Class 4 handicap at La Teste on August 5th. Best watched for now
- APOLLON – Ran well to be 2nd over 1600m at Deauville on August 17th in a Class 3 handicap. Can be competitive
- LA BONITA – Unplaced last time, 3rd previously over 1600m at this track in a Class 3 handicap on July 26th. In the mix
- BLUFF – Several placed efforts have been made lately, including 2nd in the latest over 2000m at Vichy on July 30th in a Class 4 handicap. Hard to rule out of the top four
- DZARINA – 8th on the one run this year over 1500m at Deauville on January 4th in a Class 4 race. Makes very little appeal
- MIA GRANDE – Four unplaced runs of late, well held over 1500m at Deauville on August 12th in a Class 3 handicap when last seen. Pass over
- ORANGE VIF – 5th last time out, 4th before that over 1600m at this track in a Class 3 handicap on July 26th. He can make his presence felt
- BEST SHALAA – Several unplaced runs of late, 13th at Deauville in a Class 3 handicap on August 17th. Others seem more likely to score
- SHANNA ROSE – 5th on her last run over 1600m at this track on July 26th in a Class 3 handicap. Unlikely to threaten some of these
- TOPINAMBUR – Two placed efforts of late, 3rd at Vichy on August 4th over 1600m in a Class 4 handicap. Can make the frame at nice odds
Summary: ARCUBIATU (2) could be the answer to this open handicap. His last two starts when fifth were reasonably good efforts. He is the tentative choice ahead of BLUFF (9), who has a good racing weight and has shown consistency recently with several placed runs. ELKABIER (4) can make the top three after a better effort shown when fourth at Dieppe earlier this month on the latest start. APOLLON (7) is also worth a mention.

- PUMP PUMP CITY – Placed 2nd on his last two runs, the latter at Vichy in a Class 3 handicap on July 19th. He might find a few of these too smart
- MARHARRY – Unplaced on both starts this year, most recently in a Class 2 handicap over 1600m at Deauville on July 6th, but should strip fitter for those runs and can be involved.
- DROIT DE PAROLE – Fair effort to be 4th two runs back at Saint-Malo on July 24th in a Class 3 race. Among the leading chances

- PRINCESSE SAPHIR – Unplaced last time, 2nd before that over 1800m in a claimer at Compiegne on July 21st in a claiming event. Unlikely to trouble the leading lights
- STARS AND AWAY – Three unplaced runs of late, 4th before that at Chantilly on February 14th in a Class 3 handicap. Handles most surfaces and is one to keep safe
Summary: SWIFT FLIGHT (7) takes a drop in class and shaped with encouragement when sixth in stronger company at Compiègne. This Class 4 assignment may prove the key to success. STARS AND AWAY (11) has been a touch frustrating of late, but retains the ability to pose a serious threat if putting it all together. MARHARRY (5) should strip fitter for a couple of runs this season and looks capable of making the top three. DROIT DE PAROLE (6) is another to consider for minor honours.
