Fine Form
Elladonna SL – 5.07
was given a confident ride when scoring at Nottingham last month and looks one to keep on side when bidding for a double at Salisbury.
James Fanshawe’s filly did not race as a juvenile but started to make up for lost time at three, building on a trio of promising efforts by justifying favouritism at Kempton.
She was a little frustrating on her first couple of starts this term but, as her breeding would suggest, enjoyed stepping up in distance on her most recent outing.
There was plenty of market support for Elladonna that day and William Buick produced her with a smooth run from the rear to score in fine style, making her worth sticking with in the Sorvio Insurance Brokers Margadale Fillies’ Handicap.
Stratusnine SL – 2.32
made an eyecatching debut when going down by just a neck to the more experienced Arabie at York and is taken to go one better in the Danny McNab Bookmakers British EBF Restricted Novice Stakes.
Hugo Palmer’s charge was slowly away and had plenty to do halfway through that contest but picked up really well once getting the hang of things.
A half-brother to six winners, including multiple scorers Ayaar and Dual Identity, Stratusnine hails from a yard which is doing well in juvenile races this term.
Strike SL – 5.42
showed a willing attitude to prevail on his seasonal reappearance and a 3lb rise up the ratings is not excessive for the Shipseys Marquees Handicap.
Own Accord WE – 8.00
is of obvious interest in the Be The Best Dressed Lady Handicap at Wetherby after getting up in the closing stages to score over this course on her
second public outing.
The ground is set to be a fair bit faster this time, but everything about that run suggested there is more improvement to come and that a step up from seven furlongs to a mile should suit.
Laser Focus WE – 9.00
is fancied to complete a hat-trick for the in-form James Owen yard in the Kelling Group Specialist Hire Experts Apprentice Handicap following nice victories at Windsor and Lingfield on a sound surface.
Over the jumps at Southwell,
Annie Wicks SO – 2.15
appears to be in a good place at present and gets the nod in the Download The Raceday Ready App Handicap Chase.
The seven-year-old was always doing enough when scoring at Taunton in March and then split a couple of in-form market leaders when second in a slightly higher grade at Hereford.
Sanitiser SO – 3.50
has run well in defeat several times over the past couple of months and deserves some reward for his consistency in the Play Southwell Golf Course Novices’ Handicap Hurdle.
Although yet to score over timber from eight attempts, he struck four times on the Flat for Paul and Oliver Cole and is a very likeable sort.
Hobb’s Delight SO – 6.05
obliged here in February and should strip fitter for a fair fourth at Cartmel on her sole outing since when lining up for the Tips For Every Race At raceday-ready.com Handicap Hurdle.
