C1 – PRIX DE LA GARE DE LYON – 2875m (a2m) – Class G Amateur Drivers Race – Harness – EUR € 12,000 |
1. IT’S DU QUENNE – Has taken well to the amateur category, most recently trotting 2nd of 10 in a 3025m Class H at Montier-en-Der last week. Takes on better this time but breaks in front and looks good enough to trot his way into the money
2. GY DU GANEP – Disappointing on the whole over recent months, latterly 6th of 9 in a 2900m Arras amateurs Class G 10 days ago and, barefoot or not, has no possible chance
3. IVAJALE – Pleased in 3 amateur events before winning a 2500m Reims Class F on 22 June. Aimed higher this time though and even from the front line, will have her work cut out
4. HUTA JAZZ – 4th of 10 finishers in an amateurs Class F here late last month, but takes on a tougher bunch this time and chances limited
5. HADRIEN MERITE – Sanctioned in last 6, most recently a similar Class F over course and distance late-June, and can be confidently disregarded
6. HEMILIO PIERJI – A model of consistency this year in the amateur division. Drops back in class after coming close 2nd of 15 in a 2100m Vichy Class F and is not incapable of setting the cat among the pigeons. Attention
7. HELECHO – Superb servant in the amateur division, winning a brace at Vincennes last month, latterly a 2100m Class F a fortnight ago, and the 3-timer looks a distinct possibility
8. IOUPY TOLLEVILLE – Close 2nd of 12 in a 2150m Class F on amateur debut here last week. Has morale intact and will be expected to give HELECHO (7) a run for his money
9. INDIANA D’ESPACE – Takes her first amateur steps after coming a reassuring 4th of 10 finishers in a 2700m Vincennes Class D on 21 June, and has a realistic claim on a place in the frame
10. HELITE ELEVEN – Went into her spell on a good note and 6th of 10 behind INDIANA D’ESPACE (9), on first outing back, in a 2700m Vincennes Class D on 21 June. On ability alone is better than most here and will be expected to finish in the mix
Summary: Always generous in the amateur category, and proven at Enghien, HELECHO (7) is forced to incur the handicap but can still win this and pull off the metropolitan hat-trick. That said, IOUPY TOLLEVILLE (8) only went down by little, over 2150m, here a week ago and Benjamin Lebey returns to the venue with eyes on the prize. New to this division after putting in a very good Vincennes Class D performance, INDIANA D’ESPACE (9) looks competitive for a place on the podium. Just behind her that day, on her first start following the spell, HELITE ELEVEN (10) will have come on for the run and is not to be underestimated.

C2 – PRIX DE MENILMONTANT – 2150m (a1m1/4) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 35,000 |
1. LICARI – Went close on debut before losing his maiden status on 22 June in a 2400m Amiens Class F. Has masses of room for improvement and will be expected to give LYNYRD SKYNYRD (4) something to consider
2. LE CAPORAL – Opened his account at Elbeuf before coming 3rd of 5 finishers in a 2700m Class E at La Capelle 2 months ago. Unseen since but well-placed in front and will generate interest
3. L’AS DE COEUR – Won a 2450m Caen monté Class F on 24 June. Here for a change of scenery and can be passed over
4. LYNYRD SKYNYRD – Got off the mark at 2nd time of asking, dominating a 2150m Mauquenchy Class D a month ago, and is ideally-positioned to confirm
5. LOULOU DES OUBEAUX – Goes left-handed for first time after trotting 5th of 11 in a 2725m Cabourg Class D last week, and could pleasantly surprise if he turns
6. LUCKY LOVE – In the frame in 3 of 4, most recently 3rd of 9 in a 2275m Nantes Class E on 3 June. Has had time to freshen up and looks a realistic place prospect
7. LISTED VOIRONS – Got off the mark at Le Croisé-Laroche mid-May before finishing unexceptional 4th in a 2700m Class E at La Capelle on 21 June and, even with front pads fitted, is unlikely to influence the result
8. LORD DES GRANGES – Has started to come good again, latterly 4th of 9 in a 2825m Class D at Le Croisé-Laroche on 24 June. Not a contender from the 8-spot but can still get a look-in
9. LOUKY DE BAULON – Sanctioned in all 4 outings to date, latterly a 2400m Amiens Class F on 22 June. Nicolas Bazire reining this time but still appears to have nothing to offer
10. LE ROI DES BRIERES – Sanctioned in first 3 before finishing runner-up to LYNYRD SKYNYRD (4) in a 2150m Mauquenchy Class D a month ago and, if applied, can make first 5
11. LEE HOOKER – Capable on a good day but unremarkable 5th of 8 in a Class D over course and distance late last month and will need to find more
12. LUCKY DU DONJON – 3rd of 9 finishers in a 2850m Laval Class E a fortnight back. Starts on second line but, with form maintained, can figure prominently
Summary: Sanctioned on debut, LYNYRD SKYNYRD (4) more than made amends at Mauquenchy next time and, with application, can wrap this up. That said, recent Amiens winner, LICARI (1) seems more reliable, or at least less-spirited, and will be expected to put up considerable resistance. 5th in a Class D here before going closer at Nantes, LUCKY LOVE (6) is a progressive colt with a decent shot here, while Charles Dreux will be hopeful that LUCKY DU DONJON (12) can replicate his Laval performance.

C3 – PRIX DE BERTINCOURT – 2875m (a2m) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 35,000 |
1. KING STEED – 2nd of 14 in a 2700m Graignes Class F 2 weeks ago. Has taken his game up a notch since starting to race unshod-behind and although not a priority, can still make first 5
2. KANSAS CASTELETS – Honest colt that came 2nd of 12 in a 2825m Class F at Le Croisé-Laroche on 24 June. Newly configured shoeing and, while not a priority, can still play a small role
3. KING EVOLUTION – Showed improvement when 5th of 16 in a Class E over course and distance late last month, but in this company will have his work cut out
4. KING CASH CEKE – Sanctioned in last 5, latterly a 2800m Chartres Class E 3 weeks ago. Has previously won when racing without hind shoes and, will not be far from the action if he stays in stride
5. KERU DE LOU – Unbeaten in 2 in 2023; has yet to win this term but encouraging 4th of 15 in a 2725m Lisieux Class D early last month, and returns to racing left-handed with justified ambition
6. KRONOS ZEN – Regularly in the thick of things when focused, latterly winning a 2700m Vire Class E on 12 June. Unlikely to repeat but makes his metropolitan debut with a realistic chance of making the frame
7. KINO DE LAUMIERE – Placed under these conditions earlier this season but very disappointing since. Sanctioned, at 110/1, in a 2700m Vincennes Class D a fortnight back, and can be ruled out
8. KILLER DES CHAMPS – 5th of 12 in a 2750m Class D at La Capelle, but raced better than the result would suggest, and reverting to his Laval configuration, can play a key role
9. KOLOSSE – Impressive over autumn and winter but has since lost his way, most recently 8th, behind KILLER DES CHAMPS (8), in a 2750m Class D at La Capelle on 21 June. Barefoot for first time but still not an obvious choice
10. KURAPIKA DU PONT – 9th of 17, on return from spring break, in a 2750m Craon Class B on 24 June. Hind shoes off this time and could yet get a look-in
11. KING GEORGES ELLIS – Lost his action in a 2700m Vincennes Class D a fortnight ago, but had shown his form at Reims 3 weeks earlier. Pads on all 4 this time and will generate some interest
12. KEPI DES MONTS – Unraced since finishing last of 8 in a 2150m Class D on 20 April, and can expect to remain friendless in the markets
13. KAID DUCAL – Found his form at Laval a fortnight ago when 3rd of 9 in a 2850m Laval Class D, and can win this if Pierre-Yves Verva keeps him out of trouble
14. KASH DES CAILLONS – Good, consistent colt that came 3rd of 8 in a 2825m Vire Class E earlier in the month. Should take well to Enghien profile and is unlikely to finish out of first 3
Summary: KAID DUCAL (13) may not be the luckiest of horses but he is competitive at this level and his recent Laval performance bodes well for his chances. Pierre-Yves Verva will still want to be wary of the reconfigured KILLER DES CHAMPS (8) who is clearly close to his race, and the well-entered KASH DES CAILLONS (14) who will have his chances if he takes to the new conditions. KRONOS ZEN (6) produced his career-best performance at Vire a month ago and, hind shoes off again, can repeat.

1. ISTRA – Useful mare that trotted 5th of 12 in a 2600m Nancy Class F 12 days ago but in this category, may find the going too tough
2. INES DE LA ROUVRE – Has ability but sanctioned in 4 of last 5, latterly the race of reference, and can be passed over
3. I FEEL PRETTY – 3rd of 11 finishers in a 2825m Class E at Le Croisé-Laroche mid-May. David Thomain drafted in for the occasion and must be afforded significant respect
4. ISIS DE LA FERME – 5th to INES QUICK (8) in late-June race of reference and is not incapable of making first 5 once more
5. IDAHI DE HOUELLE – 6th to INES QUICK (8) in Laval race of reference. Left a good impression that day and, although not a contender, can still get a look-in
6. IDYLLE DE MAHEY – Got back in the game when 4th to INES QUICK (8) in a 2850m Laval Class D on 27 June. Is plainly in shape, is confirmed here, and is unlikely to be far from the action
7. IRINA DE MONTCEAU – 7th of 11 in a 1900m Class D at Le Croisé-Laroche late last month. Has been off the boil for some time and can be ignored
8. INES QUICK – Smartly won a 2850m Laval Class D 2 weeks ago. Has never disappointed for Yoann Lebourgeois and can make this her own
9. INA DU PONT – 2nd to INES QUICK (8) in a 2850m Laval Class D a fortnight ago. Enjoys a good turn of foot, won here this time last year, the long straight will only work to her advantage, and looks main danger to Lebourgeois’ charge
10. IRIS FARCEUSE – Missed out by little for 3rd here late-May before coming 8th of 10 in a 2700m Vincennes Class D on 21 June. Has never left Enghien empty-handed and is not about to start
11. IRMYLA DE SOMMAIRE – Was preparing for this when 9th of 11 in a 2825m Chartres Class D 10 days ago. Is better than her formcard would suggest and, with a trouble-free run, can make her presence felt
Summary: The season started in earnest for INES QUICK (8) in late-March, winning twice, and most recently dominating much of the day’s opponents. The occasionally complicated INA DU PONT (9) trotted 2nd to him that day, has previously won here, and will be no pushover. IRMYLA DE SOMMAIRE (11) enjoys an excellent entry, has front pads fitted, and can get back in the game if Paul-Antoine Delacour keeps her out of trouble. I FEEL PRETTY (3) is currently on a productive run of form, goes barefoot this time around, and should logically finish in the mix.

1. JACKSON HILL – No slouch but unplaced in last 2, latterly 8th of 16 in a 2825m Class F at Le Croisé-Laroche on 24 June, and must get his house in order
2. JERONIMO DU CAUX – Complicated trotter that consistently gives his best, when applied. 3rd of 12 in a 2800m Strasbourg Class E a month back, sports a new configuration, but others still easier to back
3. JULEJACQ – Made up for some poor runs when 2nd to JERZINHO SPORT (9), at 40/1, in a 2850m Laval Class D 2 weeks ago, but a repeat seems improbable
4. JIRENZO – Had been making good progress elsewhere before losing his action early in a 2875m Class D here late-June. Hind shoes off for the occasion but still looks to have his work cut out
5. JOKER D’OCCAGNES – Hard to knock when focused and unshod. 3rd of 11 finishers in a Class D over course and distance late last month. Not a priority but will still have his supporters
6. JUST A DREAM – At the top of his game over past 3 months, latterly 3rd to JANNIG D’EREVAN (12) in a Class D under these conditions late-May. Has freshness on his side and is not to be underestimated
7. JEU MAJYC – Sanctioned when heavily-backed in a Class D over course and distance late last month. Has nothing to prove in this category, reverts to racing unshod-behind and, on good behaviour, can make a big splash
8. JASMIN PHIL – Runner-up to JANNIG D’EREVAN (12) in late-May before coming 7th behind JOKER D’OCCAGNES (5) in a Class D over track and trip on 29 June. Is better than that though and looks a respectable first-5 chance
9. JERZINHO SPORT – Had a tricky start to the season but came good with victory in a 2850m Laval Class D 2 weeks ago and will not be available at 16/1 this time around. Chance
10. JOJO LAPIN – Prepping shod for this when last of 9 over 2600m at Duindigt on Sunday. Won here 13 months ago, is barefoot this time, and is unlikely to disappoint
11. JOUR DE GLOIRE – No closer than 4th in 7 starts this year, most recently last but one in a 2775m Craon Class D on turf late last month. Barefoot this time but others still preferred
12. JANNIG D’EREVAN – Seldom far off the mark when he can stay focused. Comes here of the back of 2 solid victories and will be expected to garner the lion’s share of support
Summary: Winner of his last two, most recently with consummate ease here, JANNIG D’EREVAN (12) has a realistic claim on the hat-trick. In cracking form of late, JUST A DREAM (6) finished 3rd to him here that day and should again figure prominently, but he may first have to see off JERZINHO SPORT (9) who returned to triumphant ways at Laval a fortnight ago. JEU MAJYC (7) would have finished in the money here last time had he not faulted, and should logically make amends if Nicolas Bazire can keep him in stride from one end of the race to the other.

C6 – PRIX JEAN PAUL FAIRAND – 2875m (a2m) – Gr3 Amateur Riders Race – Mounted – EUR € 90,000 |
1. HOTLINE DE CARSI – Very good, and reliable, servant under the saddle, latterly 2nd of 11 finishers in a 2850m Vincennes Class C on 21 June, but takes on better this time and no more than a minor place prospect
2. DICK DES MALBERAUX – Never-dangerous 7th of 13 in a 2875m Class C here on 15 June, and at this level, will struggle to make his mark
3. ESPOIR DU RAVARY – Serious trotter that came 2nd of 8 in a 3000m Marseille-Borély Class C on 17 May. Has not been seen out since and in this field will not find the going easy
4. GEORGICA GEDE – Has merit but not as sharp as she used to be, latterly last of 8, behind FULTON (10), in a 2700m Vincennes Gr.3 late June, and can expect to have few takers
5. DUC DU LUPIN – Last but one, on comeback, in a 2875m harness claimer here 2 weeks ago. Competitively-shod this time but others still easier to back
6. FANATIC FLASH – Made an impressive return to the code at Caen before winning a 2525m Cavaillon harness Class B 3 weeks ago. Steps up in category but is still capable of challenging for a place in the frame
7. FOUGUE DU DOLLAR – Quality mare that has struggled this year but came a respectable 5th of 8 in a 2850m Vincennes Class A on 14 June and, given her liking for Enghien, will have a say in the outcome
8. GO FOR THE GOLD – Victorious at Vincennes before coming an unlucky last of 6 finishers in Gr.3 Prix Paul Delanoé over 2175m at same venue early last month. Has had time to freshen up however and expectations are high for a big finish
9. EPSOM D’HERFRAIE – Lost his way after winning a brace earlier in the year, most recently last but one in a 2850m Vincennes Class A mid-May. Has had time to get his act together and, if focused, can play a small part
10. FULTON – Never easy to handle but finished a reassuring 3rd of 9 in a 2700m Vincennes Gr.3 on 28 June. 5th in this race last year but looks more a place prospect this time around
11. GEISHA SPEED – Returns to her code of preference after finishing last of 10 in Gr.1 Kymi Grand Prix at Kouvola mid-June. Has nothing to prove in this category and, already 4 times a winner here, can bring home the bacon once more
Summary: Gr.1 Prix de l’Ile-de-France winner earlier in the year, GEISHA SPEED (11) seldom disappoints in this branch of the business and, refreshed from her Finnish trip, can get straight back down to business. Oscar Placier will nevertheless feel the heat from GO FOR THE GOLD (8) who won a Vincennes Gr.2 before enduring a woeful trip behind the Duvaldestin mare at the same venue early last month. FULTON (10) defied his odds to trot 3rd in another Vincennes Gr.3 late last month and, in similar shape, should put on another decent showing. FOUGUE DU DOLLAR (7) reassured across town mid-June, sports a fresh configuration, and with application can give this a good go.

1. HALFA – Makes first appearance since coming 7th of 10 in a 2850m Vincennes monté Gr.3 early-May. Has other priorities and can be discounted
2. FAITHFUL – Surprise 5th of 10 finishers, at 169/1, in a 2875m Class C here a week ago, on first appearance since November. Hind shoes off this time, handed a good draw, but a repeat seems improbable
3. GALAGO DU CADRAN – Valiant 2nd of 15 in a 2100m Vincennes Class C on 23 June. Is clearly at the top of his game and, from the 3-spot, looks the one to beat
4. FUNKY D’ALB – Has struggled with form this term, most recently sanctioned in a 2650m Avignon Class D mid-June. Sports a previous configuration but can still be passed over
5. FORBAN – Has been knocking at the door in the provinces recently, latterly 2nd of 15 in a 3550m Niort Class A on 23 June. Benefits from a decent place behind the car, has never disappointed under these conditions, and can pick up a cheque
6. GREAT OF MADRIK – Sanctioned in a 2800m Class A on turf at Sablé-sur-Sarthe 10 days ago. Boasts an excellent Enghien record though and will be no pushover
7. EPSON D’ARIANE – Sanctioned in a 2800m Class A on turf at Sablé-sur-Sarthe 10 days ago. Is no longer the horse he once was and chances limited
8. GAZOLINE DU SEUX – Seldom gets her nose in front these days but finished 4th of 10 finishers in a 2875m Class C here a week ago. Forced to start wide but receives an Alexandre Abrivard drive this time and will be afforded every chance
9. HORATIUS D’ELA – Quickly sanctioned in a 2875m Class C here last week, but trotted 3rd in better company the race before and, despite starting on the back line, looks main threat to GALAGO DU CADRAN (3)
10. DOMINO D’AUVRECY – 9th behind GALAGO DU CADRAN (3) in a 2100m Vincennes Class C late-June, on first start since the spell. Not ideally-drawn but, if fully fit, can get a look-in
11. HAMILTON DU HAM – Won over 2850m at Vincennes before coming 4th of 16 in a Class C over track and trip late-June, and a similar performance would see him go close
12. FOLLOW ME FLASH – Won at Vincennes earlier in the year but unplaced in last 3, latterly 12th of 17 in a 2675m Class D at Le Mont-Saint-Michel a fortnight ago, and even with front pads fitted, has no possible chance
13. ENJOY THE GAME – 7th behind HAMILTON DU HAM (11), on return from his break, in a Class C over course and distance 11 days ago. Has previously won twice at the venue but still no more than a minor place prospect
14. VERY JOY – Quality Italian veteran with an enviable strike-rate, most recently imposing over a mile in Naples late-May. Front shoes off for the occasion, placed 3rd last time here [4 yrs ago], and with David Thomain reining, must be taken seriously
15. FRODO S – Not without merit but last of 14 in a 2100m Vincennes Class E on 21 June and, even though sporting modified shoeing, appears once more to be biting off more than he can chew
16. CYRANO DE B. – Has not been seen out since faulting in a 2875m Class C here 12 months ago. Shoes on and will need the race
Summary: Excellent all season, GALAGO DU CADRAN (3) set his personal best time when beaten only by a very good horse across town late last month and, sporting a new configuration, can make his Enghien debut a victorious one. Sanctioned early here a week ago, HORATIUS D’ELA (9) has nothing to prove at this level and Benjamin Rochard will be eager to put things right. 4th over course and distance 11 days ago after having won at Vincennes, HAMILTON DU HAM (11) reverts to a previous formula and even from the back row, will have his chances. GREAT OF MADRIK (6) is better-positioned in front and will be dangerous if Matthieu Abrivard manages to keep him trotting.

1. KOTKIE – Returns to Paris after trotting 2nd of 11 in a 3000m Marseille-Borély Class B on 17 May. Comes here fresh and, already a winner at the venue, will have her chances
2. KOKOTE – Classy filly that came 4th of 10 finishers in a 2700m Vincennes Gr.2 early last month. Entrusted to Alexandre Abrivard for the first time and will take some beating
3. JUSTICIA GLAM – Trotted 5th to KOUFRA IRIS’EYES (7) in late-June race of reference. Is useful when focused and starting from the 3-spot will do her prospects no disservice
4. DENIA – Has hardly put a foot wrong under harness over recent months, latterly 4th, a place behind KOUFRA IRIS’EYES (7), in late-June race of reference. Handed an excellent spot behind the car and looks a possible spoiler
5. KIVALA RENARDIER – Made up for her Vincennes disappointment when 3rd of 9 in a 2200m Vichy Class B mid-June. Has a good spot in front and will not be far from the action if she takes to the new profile
6. LOOK OF LOVE – Unlucky 8th of 15 in a 2100m Vincennes Class C 12 days ago. Has bags of ability, breaks from the front line and, with stride in check, can challenge for a place in the frame
7. KOUFRA IRIS’EYES – Fine campaigner that won on re-entry before coming 3rd of 15 in a 2100m Vincennes Class C late last month. Handed a wide draw but in present form is very hard to ignore
8. KANAKA DE BUSSET – Last of 13, on comeback, in race of reference. Is barefoot this time, has references at a superior level, but may be one race shy
9. JAMES BOND GIRL – Never far from faulting, as she did in 28 June race of reference. Would certainly have finished closer that day had she not faulted and Mathieu Mottier will be keen to set the record straight
10. EMY STECCA – Yet to replicate her Italian form, latterly 7th behind ELOISE GAR (16) in a 2850m Vincennes Class D a month ago, and is out of her depth
11. DADA DEL RONCO – Showed improvement when 5th, behind JAVERNE (13), in a 2100m Vincennes Class D mid-June. On second line here however and not the most attractive of propositions
12. DAYTONA DI CECCO – Off the boil all year, most recently last but one in a 2100m Vincennes Class D on 14 June, and can be ruled out
13. JAVERNE – Runner-up in last 2, latterly a 2100m Vincennes Class D mid-May. Takes a step up in category though and will need to find more
14. CARBONFIBER – Yet to make much of an impression since coming to France. 6th to JAVERNE (13) in a 2100m Vincennes Class D on 14 June and can expect to have few friends
15. EVA KANT GIO – Pleased in Turin before finishing last of 9 in Gr.1 Gran Premio della Lotteria over 1600m in Naples early-May. Has freshness on her side but the draw will do her no favours
16. ELOISE GAR – Debuts at Enghien after placing 4th of 12 in a 2850m Vincennes Class D a month back. Races barefoot for Enghien debut but the draw will limit her prospects
Summary: Dropping back in class after a valiant Gr.2 performance at Vincennes a month ago, KOKOTE (2) finds herself nicely-positioned on the front line and, even against her elders, is still the pick of the field. The widely-drawn, and newly-configured, KOUFRA IRIS’EYES (7), won here last summer, is more competitively-shod, and could well pose the main danger. Also a winner here mid-2023, KOTKIE (1) makes her first appearance since mid-May but breaks in front and, with application, can go close. LOOK OF LOVE (6) did not enjoy the best of trips last time, but form is not in doubt and, on good behaviour, will not be far off the mark.

1. PYRRHAA – Broke the ice over hurdles in a 3500m Class 3 race at Nantes on the 18th of June 2024. Big runner
2. LIKATA – Won with quite a bit in hand over 3500m at Dax in a Class 3 event over hurdles on the 10th of June 2024. Should go close
3. BONHAM STRAND – Finished 5th over 3500m at Nantes in a Class 3 event on the 18th of June 2024. Held on form
4. CITY LIFE – Dam won three times over hurdles from 3500m – 3800m. This gelding comes up against a few strong rivals on debut. Follow the market
5. VOLIKA JELOIS – Best of the rest when 2nd behind a reopposing rival at this venue in a claimer on the 28th of June 2024. Others preferred
6. MANAVA – Comfortable debut winner over 3400m in a Claimer at this venue on the 28th of June 2024. Should have more to offer
7. CORAL DES MOTTES – Runner over 3400m at Lyon Parilly in a Class 3 hurdles race on the 2nd of June 2024. Others make more appeal
8. STYLE AROMA – Well beaten in 5th position over 3700m in a Class 2 hurdles race at Le Lion D’Angers on the 23rd of May 2024. Place chance
Summary: LIKATA (2) has not looked back since a poor debut run and she seems to now be heading in the right direction and could turn out to be quite a useful filly over the hurdles. She can pull off the hat-trick. PYRRHAA (1) put his act together last time out and won a very nice race and with confidence on his side, he can follow up. STYLE AROMA (8) has the form to be competitive and could earn a minor position.
