10. JAVA DE BEUVRON – Disappointed when 9th in a class E at Eauze over 3025m on 8 July. She is seldom far off them and can be involved in the finish
11. JOLIE ROMAINE – Well beaten 7th in a class E at Biarritz over 2950m on 2 July. Reverts to barefoot and if in the mood can pop up in a place
12. JOYEUSE DE FLAM – Disqualified in a class F at Biarritz over 2950m on 2 July. Others are preferred in this line-up
13. JUSTE DU GERS – Disqualified in a class F at Les Sables-d’Olonne over 2650m on 10 July. She is in fair form and can make the frame
14. JACOTTE DE TIZE – Disqualified in the last three, the latest in a class F at Les Sables-d’Olonne over 2650m on 10 July. If wise she can be involved in the finish. Remains barefoot
Summary: On the evidence of her victory at Le Croisé-Laroche two starts back, JAFFNA SHAN (7) is good value to make amends and bounce back from her recent failure (disqualification) at the expense of JUSTE DU GERS (13) who has the means to pose a threat if avoiding disqualification. Versatile JALNA DE CAREL (8) has found a new lease on life since joining Franck Terry’s yard, confirming the form/improvement of her 3rd under the saddle by finishing 2nd back in the harness category last time, and shouldn’t be underestimated either. JAVA DE BEUVRON (10) and JERIKA LOVE (5) complete the shortlist.

14. JOE LOUIS – A winner in a class F at Villeneuve-sur-Lot over 2625m on 30 June. He remains barefoot. Nicolas Bazire is on the sulky and will give every assistance
Summary: Another wide-open event, in which it could pay to side with JOE LOUIS (14) who returned to winning ways on turf at Villeneuve-sur-Lot last month. With Nicolas Bazire engaged for this ideal entry, he will make another bold bid for victory. JAGUAR DE CHENOU (10) continues to beat around the bush but he wouldn’t be winning out of turn either, while JERK HAUFOR (12) is most effective in this configuration and he also has the means to fight for victory. JERICHO VICI (7) is dangerous to discount.

14. IDYLLIC DREAM – Disqualified in a class H at Monpazier over 3125m on 29 June. He has been prepared for this race and will have his supporters
Summary: Another trappy contest in which a speculative vote is worth giving to IYAR (11), for whom this remains purely a question of wisdom. He has the undeniable means to win a race of this nature but must avoid disqualification to redeem himself after back-to-back failures. IDYLLIC DREAM (14) is more reliable but has to reaffirm after a recent faux pas of his own. However, he retains the confidence of those around him and is ideally committed at the ceiling of earnings, so is expected to fight for victory. Consistent rivals INUKSHUK (9) and ICARUS OF HELL (13) aren’t taken lightly, while ISEA D’HOULBEC (4) is another who warrants consideration.

16. IDEFIX DES LANDES – Finished 10th in a class E at Pornichet-La Baule over 2650m on 11 July. He has sufficient means to fight for victory
17. FAMILOTE – Well beaten 7th in a class H at Monpazier over 3125m on 29 June. Not in the best of form and is unplaced this year
Summary: A hard race to assess, although victory is likely to be fought out by ILLICO D’AMOUR (13) and INFERNO POURPRE (14) who have been threatening to reconnect with success for several weeks now. Both are ideally engaged under these conditions so they ought to play leading roles. IL MIO (7), however, races unshod for this engagement and has the means to stake a claim in the outcome. ILMAT DES KECHES (11) and IDEFIX DES LANDES (16) aren’t taken lightly either.

12. HOPPELA THEPOL – Struggling of late and was 7th in class F at Les Sables-d’Olonne over 2775m on 10 July. Has disqualification issues and more is needed to win this race
13. HAMILTON DU LUPIN – Unreliable and was fourth in class F at Les Sables-d’Olonne over 2775m on 10 July. Won well in February and is barefoot. Big chance
Summary: HAMILTON DU LUPIN (13) sparked signs of a revival when a reassuring 4th over 2775m on a recent visit to this track and need only confirm that form/improvement to capitalise on this ideal entry (just 180 Euros from limit of earnings!). HADES DE SUCE (1) who has racked up 4 consecutive wins in the amateur category and ought to continue his momentum, even at this level, from a favourable starting berth. HAMPTON AMERICA (10) and HORTENSIA DE LARRE (4) appeal most of the remainder.

12. GEGE DE FROMENTEL – In good form and has won two of last three starts, with the latest being in a Class D Mounted race at Enghien over 2875m on 3 July. Better under the saddle and others are preferred
13. ENTRE AMIS – Unreliable but was a barefoot winner last time out in Class D at Eauze over 3025m on 8 July. Not unshod this time but could earn some money
14. FLYING BRICKELL – Unreliable but was not disgraced when fourth last time out in Class D at Le Mont-Saint-Michel over 2675m on 26 June. Not out of it
15. HELIOS SI – Did not show his best when 6th last time out in Class D at Vichy over 1609m on 6 July. Capable of better and can bounce back to score
16. GIPSON CREEK – Returns from a lengthy break and was 13th last time out in Class B at Bordeaux-Le Bouscat over 2650m on 28 December. Likely to need this run returning from a break
Summary: Having proven his form, well-being and confirmed his efficiency in this shoeing configuration recently at Vichy, HELIOS SI (15) makes the trip for this engagement with legitimate ambitions. He is, however, likely to be tested by Jean-Paul Marmion’s representatives GIANINA BELLA (8) and GLOIRE DU LUPINE (10), both of whom have the means to fight for victory. FLYING BRICKELL (14), a newcomer to Franck Terry stable, could be hard to peg back if allowed an easy lead. Of those on the front row, HARONA D’OLIVERIE (5) appeals most.

1. LAMBADA TURGOT – 6th of 12 finishers, on debut, in a Class E over course and distance 3 weeks ago, but a repeat performance is unlikely
2. LUNE D’ERABLE – Made short work of a 2800m Villedieu-les-Poëles Class H on debut a fortnight ago. Will have progressed and David Thomain will be eyeing the double
3. LADY MAJOR – 6th of 11 in a 2625m Cherbourg Class E mid-June. Placed just once in 6 to date and can be passed over
4. LADY SLAVE TEK – 3rd of 11 finishers in a 2275m Craon Class F late last month. Is a serious filly with untapped potential and must be respected
5. LILOU DU HIDOUX – Got off the mark at Segré before trotting 8th of 11 in a 2625m Class G at Saint-Jean-de-Monts late-June, and can be ruled out
6. LUCRECE DU BELLAY – Runner-up to LITTLE ROAD (12) in a 2600m Genêts Class F on 7 July. Front pads fitted for the occasion but still a minor place chance at best
7. LAREDO BAY – Failed to confirm her Villedieu success when 5th of 8 in a 2850m Laval Class E late last month. Fitted with pads all-around, Lebourgeois maintains faith, and is not to be underestimated
8. LUBIE D’URZY – Sanctioned in 3 after imposing on debut, latterly a 2675m Class E here 3 weeks ago, but will be no easy touch if Arnaud Desmottes keeps her trotting
9. LOVESONG HEMCASH – Not without merit but sanctioned early in a 2400m Amiens Class F a week ago, but others still easier to back
10. LEGENDE SEVEN – Lost 150m at the start, coming last of 6 in a 2150m Vichy Class E on 20 June. Is clearly a progressive filly though and can make a big impact if she gets off on the right foot
11. LIMITLESS LOVE – Lost her maiden status early-June, winning a 2150m Rânes Class G. Takes on a better bunch this time around but still looks competitive for a small slice of the pie
12. LITTLE ROAD – 3rd on debut before winning a 2600m Genêts Class F on 7 July. Comes here with morale intact and a good hand to play
13. LIBELLULE VERGNIER – Showed early promise but has since shown her limits, latterly 7th in a 2675m Class E here late-June, and even fitted with pads this time, will need to pull her socks up
Summary: Given a spell after winning first time out, LEGENDE SEVEN (10) completely missed the start at Vichy last month but can make this her own if Romain Congard assures her initial strides. He will still be keeping a watchful eye on LUNE D’ERABLE (2) who imposed a fortnight ago, first time out, and LITTLE ROAD (12) who steps up in category after striking gold at Genêts earlier this month. LADY SLAVE TEK (4) has been knocking at the door recently and it will not be long before she opens her account.

1. KILLER ANGOT – Left a good impression in qualification, going 1’17″3 at Caen 2 months ago, but is not about to spring a surprise first time out
2. KLINGER – Qualified in 1’18″7 at Laval in 2022. Comes here already with a certain status and will be expected to get straight down to business
3. KRISLINE DU MESNIL – Qualified in 1’17″8 at Laval earlier in the month and, in this company, is not about to influence the outcome
4. KEEPING JYL – Sanctioned on monté debut (after a long layoff) early last month in a 2150m Rânes Class H. Is better than his formcard would suggest but still no more than a minor place prospect
5. KRYSTA DE MONTBRAY – Sanctioned when unsupported in a 2450m Caen Class E on 17 June and is not about to shake things up
6. KAID BOURGEOIS – Makes first appearance under the saddle following 4 straight harness sanctions and, with shoes back on, will have few takers
7. KEY LARGO WIND – Sanctioned in a harness Class F over course and distance 3 weeks ago. Made little impression on monté debut early-June and is unlikely to cause an upset
8. KINSKILAND – Sanctioned as often as not but good 2nd to KORINA DE BASSIERE (11) in a 2825m Durtal Class F last Sunday. Is proven at the venue and, with Benjamin Rochard in the irons, can trot his way into first 5
9. KALIE GEMA – In the frame in 2 of last 3, most recently 3rd of 6 in a 2750m Cabourg Class F a fortnight ago and once again looks competitively well-in
10. KHEOPS LA VALLEE – 2nd of 9 finishers in a 2400m Amiens Class F on 22 June. Steps marginally up in category but has the capacity to finish in the mix
11. KORINA DE BASSIERE – Lost her maiden status in a 2825m Class H at Villedieu-les-Poëles 2 weeks ago. Unlikely to repeat but should still acquit herself honourably
12. KALMIE HAUFOR – Not without merit but sanctioned in 4 of last 5, latterly a 2800m Chartres Class F a month back, and even with front shoes off, can expect to remain friendless in the markets
13. KELLY DES LUCAS – Last of 11, when being conditioned, in a 2200m Class F at Agon-Coutainville 10 days ago. Goes barefoot for the occasion but has yet to shine in this branch of the business and others preferred
14. KALONE DE MORGANE – Complicated filly making first appearance since trotting 4th of 7 in a 2450m Caen Class E last March. Is expected to need the run but can still get a look-in
15. KALOU DES NOEES – Reassuring 5th of 13 in a 2675m Erbray harness Class F earlier this month. Looks the sort that can do well in this code and will be relied on to figure prominently
16. KRISTINA DU CLOS – Sanctioned, when favourite, in a 2800m Chartres Class F a month ago. Not the easiest to handle but has evident ability and, with application, should not be far off the mark
Summary: It’s not everyday that an untried 4yo gets the nod in a race like this but KLINGER (2) will be competitively-shod first time out, with Mathieu Mottier onboard, and William Bigeon would not race him unless he was confident of a big run. KALOU DES NOEES (15) takes his first competitive steps under the saddle but has shown enough under harness to be considered a player. KALIE GEMA (9) has demonstrated very good aptitude for the monté discipline and, given recent performances, is not far from opening her account. KHEOPS LA VALLEE (10) seldom puts a foot wrong and his recent Amiens run bodes well for his chances of picking up another place prize.

1. JUMPING DU RIB – Faulted in a 2750m Ecommoy Class F 11 days ago, on just 2nd start back. Will be race-fit and, with application, can play a small role
2. JACOBIN – Blows hot and cold but form is not in doubt. Beaten only by a very good horse in a 2750m Cabourg Class F 2 weeks ago and, with application, can impose this time
3. JAGUAR DU DOLLAR – 12th of 14, when being conditioned, in a 2825m Vire Class E on 12 June. Gets another crack at racing barefoot and, on good behaviour, will not go home empty-handed
4. JEWEL DE MIRE – Last of 13 in a 2775m Class E at Les Sables d’Olonne 10 days ago. Makes first appearance for new trainer and is not to be underestimated
5. JINGLE FAN – 8th of 13 in a 2725m Lisieux Class F 2 weeks ago. Has no references at this level and is unlikely to spring a surprise
6. JAZZY EFFEL – Has ample ability but lacklustre 11th of 14 in a 2150m Vichy Class F late-May. Has had time to get his house in order but others still easier to back
7. JULIETTE D’OO – Has placed just once in 3 since imposing at Vire during the spring, most recently 7th of 10 in a 2825m Mondoubleau Class F on 16 June, but on a good day, can pick up some prizemoney
8. JEST THE BEST – Oddly lacklustre 6th of 16 in a 2950m Vichy Class E on 2 July. Faces a less difficult task this time around and can put things right. Chance
9. JARODE PAULOIS – Pleasant 3rd at Le Croisé-Laroche before trotting 5th of 10 in a 2600m Nancy Class F 3 weeks ago but, even racing barefoot, a repeat seems improbable
10. JADE DE COQUERIE – Made up for her Rânes blunder when 5th of 12 in a 2725m Lisieux Class E early last month. Sports a new configuration and is not to be overlooked
11. JAKARTA – Sanctioned in 4 of last 5, latterly a 3125m Class F at La Gacilly on Monday, and backs up with limited ambition
12. JOG JELOCA – 4th of 11 in a 2475m Niort Class E on 23 June. Is hard to fault when focused and is unlikely to be far off the mark
13. JOUVENCE DE KACY – Seldom far from the action when she can stay focused, but faulted in 3 of last 4 and will have few, if any, takers
14. JAGUAR DE THABE – Last of 10, when being conditioned, in a 2950m Vichy Class F on 25 June. Faces first objective of the new season and with application, can play a leading role
Summary: Temperamental he may be but JACOBIN (2) has been in decent form lately, left a very good impression last time out, and is not incapable of setting the record straight. He will still feel the heat from JEST THE BEST (8) who should logically bounce back from his modest Vichy effort, and the well-engaged JAGUAR DE THABE (14) who was not afforded a decent trip at the same venue late last month. An honest sort that always gives his best, JOG JELOCA (12) sports front pads this time and, with form maintained, can again go close.

C4 – PRIX DE MOIDREY – 2675m (a1m1/2) – Class F Race – Harness – EUR € 17,500 |
1. KHAMSA – Quality filly that opened her 2024 account late-June when shod. Sports a new configuration and looks the one to beat
2. KIMBILA – 5th of 11 finishers in a 2200m Caen Class E a month ago. Has already won this term and, although not a priority, is still worth keeping an eye on
3. KENTIA HAUFOR – Sanctioned when full of running in a 2675m Class F here 3 weeks ago. Is clearly in excellent shape and, on good behaviour, can finish close
4. KALINKA DU HOME – 5th of 10 finishers in a 2950m Vichy Class D a month ago but is unlikely to confirm
5. KWYTE DE HOUELLE – Rewarded with maiden success in a 2825m Vire Class F on 1 July. Showed great tenacity that day and a similar performance would see her competitive for another win
6. KUZA DU BOUILLON – Disappointing on the whole lately, latterly sanctioned in a 2750m Cabourg monté Class F 2 weeks ago, and chances slim at best
7. KALIE CHOUM – Honest filly that went close 2nd in a 2800m Bernay Class F on 7 July. Is being asked a lot this time though and represents no more than a minor place prospect
8. KELLY PRETTY – Below-par in 3 since winning at Cholet. Reassured somewhat when 6th, behind KUEEN DE TILLARD (11), in a 2750m Ecommoy Class F earlier in the month and, sporting a new formula, can play a part in the reckoning
9. KALIAH DES LANDES – Can trot but unplaced in last 3, most recently 7th of 8 in a 2725m Pornichet Class F a week ago, and has a lot more to find
10. KASTA DU RIB – Useful sort that lost her action when favourite in Caen race of reference. Goes barefoot again but in this company will struggle to make her mark
11. KUEEN DE TILLARD – Put 3 straight sanctions behind her when 4th of 8 in a 2750m Ecommoy Class F earlier this month. Is confirmed at this level and will be expected to give KHAMSA (1) something to think about
12. KARA DU BELLAY – Has been giving a good account of herself lately, and is first time barefoot, but will need to improve on her 5th place to KWYTE DE HOUELLE (5) in a 2825m Vire Class F on 1 July
13. KOSTA BUROISE – Returned to winning ways in a 2625m Class F at Saint-Jean-de-Monts late-June. Takes on a tougher bunch this time though and chances limited
14. KINA DU GOUTIER – Disappointing of late, latterly faulting in a 2750m Ecommoy Class F on 23 June. Benefits from an excellent entry though and with Yoann Lebourgeois reining, will be afforded every chance
Summary: Put away after winning on debut last October, KHAMSA (1) has returned to competition in fine fettle and, with hind shoes off this time, can confirm her recent victory. Sanctioned here late last month before reassuring 11 days later, KUEEN DE TILLARD (11) will have a lot to contribute if she stays in stride. KWYTE DE HOUELLE (5) has progressed nicely of late, latterly opening her account, and can again figure prominently. KENTIA HAUFOR (3) would have finished in the mix here late-June had she maintained stride but, with front pads fitted for the first time, Florian Boudet can put things right.

C5 – PRIX DU COUESNON – 2675m (a1m1/2) – Class F Race – Harness – EUR € 17,500 |
1. KRONOS LOCO – Consistently in thick of things, most recently 2nd of 9 finishers in a 2800m Bernay Class F on 23 June. Shoes back on but can still make a big splash
2. KARISME NAY – Good, consistent type that ran 3rd of 8 finishers in a 2600m Nancy Class F 3 weeks ago. 2nd on his only start at the track and, in present form, looks a major player
3. KORO DE LA COUR – In the frame in 2 before finishing 5th, a place behind KOLMI DES EPINES (14), in a 2750m Ecommoy Class F on 7 July. Not a priority but has been configured competitively and will have his supporters
4. KORSO SNOB – Progressive individual that trotted 5th of 10 finishers in a 2600m Meslay-du-Maine Class E mid-May. Stays shod this time too but no more than a minor place chance
5. KITKO DAIRPET – Made the frame in 2 of last 3, most recently 2nd of 13 in a 2675m Erbray Class F on 7 July, but is being asked for a lot this time around
6. KAPRICE D’EVAILLES – Won at Graignes on 13 June before coming 3rd of 9 in a 2800m Chartres Class E at the end of the month. In better company this time but will still generate some interest
7. KING PRESTIGE – Made it 2 on the trot when securing a 3000m Châteaubriant Class E early-February. Has not been seen out since but is competitively-shod and the 3-timer is well within his capacity
8. KYLEBEAU DU LUOT – Took little time getting back to victorious ways, scoring a 2800m Bernay Class F success earlier in the month. Has a lot going for him here and will be no pushover
9. KADOR D’OURVILLE – 3rd of 11 finishers in a 2050m Cabourg Class F early-June. Has had time to recuperate, reverts to a previous configuration, and is capable of playing a leading role
10. KARAMEL DIDO – Sent for a break after trotting 3rd, a place behind KOLMI DES EPINES (14), in a 2850m Loudéac Class F 3 months ago. Will need the run
11. KING BOLD – Tricky sort but pleasant runner-up to KYLEBEAU DU LUOT (8) in a 2800m Bernay Class F earlier in the month, and in similar shape will not go home empty-handed
12. KEMEUNEUR – Well-beaten in last 2, latterly last but one in a 2800m Pontchâteau Class E early-June, and has no realistic chance
13. KENDO DU CHERISAY – Was given an easy re-entry race before coming 4th of 11 in a 2825m Class F at Sablé-sur-Sarthe on 30 June. Is unlikely to have his way but hind shoes off for the first time and can get in on the action
14. KOLMI DES EPINES – Reassuring 4th of 8 in a 2750m Ecommoy Class F earlier this month. Hind shoes off for first time but others still easier to back
Summary: Very much an open affair this, but a tentative nod nevertheless goes to KING PRESTIGE (7) who, although unraced since February, is a classy character and. with hind shoes off for the occasion, will legitimately bid to pull off the hat-trick. He will be directly opposed by a shod KRONOS LOCO (1) who is a model of consistency, and recent winner KYLEBEAU DU LUOT (8) who races barefoot with Yoann Lebourgeois at the helm. KARISME NAY (2) has yet to get off the mark but he consistently gives his best and went close on his only start here.

C6 – PRIX DE LA SELUNE – 2675m (a1m1/2) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 23,000 |
1. JOYAU PIYA – Springs the occasional surprise but was sanctioned in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class F 6 days ago. 4 pads fitted this time and, in current form, looks to have his work cut out
2. JOKER DES LANDES – Hardy element that won at Chartres before coming 5th of 13 in a 1609m Vichy Class F on 6 July. Placed in 1 of 3 here but, in present shape, is very easy to like
3. JAVA DE FOLIOT – Has been disappointing for some time, most recently sanctioned in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class F last Friday, and even with hind shoes off, has no realistic chance
4. JERICHO D’ORGERES – Pleasantly surprising 5th of 10 in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class F last week. Franck Nivard reining this time and, with some luck in running, can get a look in
5. JUANA DE SEY – Went off the boil after imposing at La Rochelle early-May. Last of 8 in a 2625m Agen-Le Passage Class B on 15 June and first needs to re-establish her credentials
6. JIGOVE DU GRENY – Has been difficult to knock over recent months, latterly 2nd of 12 in a 3025m Luçon Class F earlier in the month. Steps up in category, but sports modified shoeing, and still has a lot to offer. First 5
7. JAVOTTE MADRIK – 3rd of 11, on comeback, in a 2450m Caen Class F a month ago. Already twice a winner this year, and looks a player on Le Mont-Saint-Michel debut. Place prospect
8. JAGUAR DE ROZEVIC – Pleased at Vire before losing his action in a 2050m Cabourg Class F on 2 July. Stays shod and best to hold off
9. JAZZY ABSOLUTE – 7th of 12 in a 3100m Chinon Class F last Sunday. Has done nothing of note for past 13 months and can be ruled out
10. JURAC DE VALFORG – Quality sort that made short work of a 2750m Ecommoy Class F on 23 June and, with the cobwebs swept away and Benjamin Rochard reining, can double his money
11. JUGEMENT D’AVE – Has found his feet again after a tough start to the season, most recently 4th of 14 in a 2725m Pornichet Class F a fortnight ago and, from the front row, can win this
12. JERZINO VICI – Has 2 races under his belt since the spell, most recently 7th of 14 in a 2800m Bernay Class E on 7 July, and if fully-fit, can play a prominent part even though 25m worse off
13. JOJO DE L’AUNAY – 3rd of 14 in a 2700m Vincennes monté Class D late last month. Here for a change of scenery, sports pads all-around, and will have nothing to contribute
14. JERICHO VEDAQUAIS – Very hard to fault when unshod and focused, latterly 4th of 12 in a 2525m Class D at Les Andelys mid-June. Incurs the penalty but still has a lot to contribute. Attention
15. JUVENIA DU CLOSET – Has not been seen out since finishing 6th of 8 in a 2175m Vincennes Class C last October and will not be given a hard race
Summary: Remarkably consistent and boasting an enviable win-rate, JURAC DE VALFORG (10) steps up in category in search of a 7th victory and looks just to have the edge over the similarly well-engaged JUGEMENT D’AVE (11) who seldom disappoints when unshod-behind. JERICHO VEDAQUAIS (14) is forced to break from the 2nd line but has been flying since the start of the year and going barefoot for the occasion will do his prospects no disservice. A winner of 2 from 3 earlier in the year, JAVOTTE MADRIK (7) left a good impression on re-entry, will have progressed for the run, and warrants respect.

1. I LOVE JAM – Sanctioned in a 3100m La Gacilly Class H on Monday. Shoes on and backs up with little to contribute
2. INDIGO QUICK – Disappointing on the whole for some time and even with Gabi Gelormini reining, is unlikely to improve on his 10th of 12 in a 2400m Amiens amateurs Class G on 8 June
3. IMPERIAL DE SUCE – 5th of 11, on re-entry, in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class G on 12 July. Will have progressed for the run and is not going to be far from the action. Chance
4. IMPETO DODVILLE – Last of 12 in a 2650m Class F at Les Sables d’Olonne last week. Shoes on again and has no realistic chance
5. IDEO DE REP – Impressive last season, has 2 fresheners in him, most recently 6th of 15 in a 2800m Bernay Class F late last month. Is confirmed here and is not going to be far off the mark
6. IALKO VASANI – Failed to confirm his Saint-Omer victory when faulting in a 2725m Pornichet Class G 2 weeks ago. Is prove at the venue and worth retaining for a place in first 5
7. IF DU RIB – Pulled-up in a 2825m Sablé-sur-Sarthe Class F late-June. Here for a change of scenery and can be passed over
8. IDEAL DU BOUILLON – Put a brace of sanctions behind him when 6th of 10 in a 2750m Cabourg Class E 9 days ago. Has placed in 1 of 2 here but a minor place prospect at best
9. IRON MAN – 6th of 15, when being conditioned, in a 2800m Bernay Class F on 23 June. Will be at peak fitness and can give INEDIT DU PAVILLON (10) a run for his money
10. INEDIT DU PAVILLON – Consistent sort that was oddly lacklustre 7th of 9 in a 2450m Agon-Coutainville Class F 10 days ago. Nicely-entered and can expect to garner the lion’s share of support
Summary: Barring his recent performance at Agon, INEDIT DU PAVILLON (10) has otherwise been in very good form this term; he tends to go well for Sébastien Ernault and winning this would be no surprise. IRON MAN (9) is a tough nut when focused and should logically put his Caen effort behind him. Winner at Cholet earlier in the season, IMPERIAL DE SUCE (3) reassured at Saint-Malo last Friday and the engagement of David Thomain could make all the difference. IDEO DE REP (5) is better than latest numbers would suggest and, if fully fit, will be no easy touch.

1. I SPEED LUCKY – Modest individual that faulted in a 2525m amateurs Class H late last month and, in present shape, can be confidently disregarded
2. IMAGINE MAISONS – Trounced in 4 of last 5, most recently 11th of 13 in a 2700m Class H at Le Dorat last week, and can be passed over
3. ICONE DE LANDISACQ – Lost her action on re-entry earlier this month, in a 2600m Genêts Class F on 7 July, and will not be troubling the judge
4. IBIZA PACHA – Did not enjoy the best of trips when 7th of 11 in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class G last Friday. Showed her form at Questembert on penultimate start and with a better run, is unlikely to disappoint
5. INDIANA DU BOCAGE – Faulted in a 2800m Bernay amateurs Class F earlier this month. Has ample ability for this category and, on good behaviour, can play a part
6. INESS DE BELLANDE – Successful on annual bow but subsequently lost her way. Last but one in a 2800m Bernay Class F late-June and will have few friends
7. IMPRESSION HAUFOR – Returns to the harness code after coming 8th of 10 in a 2625m Class E at Saint-Jean-de-Monts late last month. Has shown her form this term, sports pads again, and will be expected to redeem herself. Minor place chance
8. IASELMA – Completely out of the picture this year, faulting last time in a 3025m Luçon Class F on 7 July. Front pads on for the occasion but still not an obvious choice
9. INTENSE ACE – Reassuring 3rd of 11 in a 2750m Ecommoy amateurs Class G 11 days ago. Yoann Lebourgeois reining this time and will be afforded every chance
10. IROISE DES BAULTS – Tends to go well when barefoot but sanctioned in a 2900m Bourigny Class F on 22 June and others easier to back
11. IZZIE D’ERONVILLE – A write-off this year, most recently sanctioned in a 2900m Clairefontaine Class F on Sunday, and chances slim
12. INES DE FAEL – Tricky character that had a 2200m Caen Class E won late-June only to be disqualified. Shod as she was when victorious at Bordeaux and should prove main threat to IMPERIALE DU MONT (14)
13. IN RACE LORRAINE – Reinvigorated since the spring, most recently winning a 2600m Nancy Class F with ease 3 weeks ago, and even from the 2nd line can figure prominently
14. IMPERIALE DU MONT – Won at Cholet before repeating early-June in a 2450m Caen Class E. Comes here fresh and can make it 3 on the trot
15. INES DE LA ROUVRE – Never far from faulting but reassuring 5th of 11 in a 2875m Enghien Class D last week. Won her only start at the venue but is not about to repeat
Summary: The principal power-hitters are on the back line here with IMPERIALE DU MONT (14) looking every part the horse to beat given how well she has been racing lately, and the hat-trick looks well within her reach. That being said, the good but complicated INES DE FAEL (12) gave a fine account at Caen late last month and, reverting to a successful formula, will be dangerous if David Thomain manages to keep her trotting. IN RACE LORRAINE (13) is plainly back at her best and is unlikely to be far from the action, while 25m better off, INTENSE ACE (9) will be in with a realistic chance of making the frame.
