8. JACINTHE DU BOIRON – Not once out of first 2 in past 12 months. Runner-up to JAVA FAST (1) in a 2900m Amiens Class E on 11 July and, although unlikely to turn the tables, can still challenge for a place on the podium

10. JOYCE DE LA COUR – Faithful servant that came 5th of 11 in a 2200m Le Mans Class D mid-July. Has never shown much liking for Cabourg and represents no more than a minor place prospect
11. JUVENIA DU CLOSET – Last of 9, on re-entry, in a 2675m Class E at Le Mont-Saint-Michel a fortnight ago. Sports a new configuration for return to a track she likes and is not to be overlooked
Summary: A fine servant with a terrific record racing right-handed, JALOUSIE MAZA (5) will be expected to bounce back from her Enghien sanction and bring home the bacon. She will still meet resistance from JAVA FAST (1) who is on a hat-trick for Yoann Lebourgeois, and JACINTHE DU BOIRON (8) who has picked up where she left off in the spring. The complicated JUNON DE LOU (9) reassured at Enghien 3 weeks ago and, given her aptitude for racing clockwise, will be no soft touch.

6. JE REVE DU BOIS – Has not been seen out since coming 2nd of 12 in a 2850m Vincennes Class B early-April. Has solid right-handed references, sports front pads for re-entry, and should give a competitive account
7. JET EXPRESS – Notable 5th of 11 in a 2875m Enghien Gr.3 on 6 July. Untried at this level but has references against many of these and, given the stable’s form, is not to be underestimated
8. JUST FOR BACK – 8th of 11, behind JAG STRYCK (11), in Bernay race of reference. Preparing for a campaign under the saddle though and can be passed over
9. JAZZMAN DEBAILLEUL – Unraced since winning a 2850m Vincennes Gr.2 3 months ago, but thrives with Franck Nivard, has never disappointed at Cabourg, and will take all the beating
10. JASPER DES CHARMES – Sanctioned in last 4, most recently a 2800m Bernay Class B freshener last weekend. New pilot at the controls and must be taken more seriously this time around
11. JAG STRYCK – Quality element that did not displease when 5th of 11 finishers in a 2800m Bernay Class B last Sunday. Has come close more than once at this level, came 2nd on lone start here, and is not going to be far off the mark
12. JACK TONIC – Reassuring 2nd of 11 finishers in 2175m Gr.2 Prix Jean le Gonidec early-June after having been disqualified in Prix Albert Demarcq. Incurs the penalty but still looks principal danger to JAZZMAN DEBAILLEUL (9)
Summary: An absolute revelation this season, JAZZMAN DEBAILLEUL (9) makes his first appearance since winning the Gr.2 Prix Albert Demarcq 3 months ago and has every chance of pulling off the 6-timer. That being said, JACK TONIC (12) is an exceptional campaigner when focused, comes here fresh and, even from the 2nd line, looks the main threat. JET EXPRESS (7) may not be an obvious choice considering his recent numbers but he has proven form against a number of these and looks an interesting candidate. The Gr.1-winning, and barefoot, JASPER DES CHARMES (10) has been struggling with stride issues lately but the engagement of Yoann Lebourgeois may be just the ticket to his redemption.

8. IBILI D’OCCAGNES – Has returned to competition in fine shape, most recently 2nd of 8 in a 2750m Class F at La Capelle on 9 July. Front shoes off this time and can play a leading role if Inès Fraigne keeps him trotting
9. GISARO – Sprang a 156/1 surprise when 6th of 16 in a competitive Class E over course and distance 3 weeks ago, and is not incapable of repeating
10. HIDALGO DAIRPET – Sports 4 pads for the first time after faulting in a 2875m Meslay-du-Maine Class G on 21 July, and has no possible chance
Summary: A veritable steamroller over the past 3 months, INDIGO BEACH (7) came 2nd under these conditions before winning 3 on the trot, and is an obvious preference here. Andrea Roussel will still be expecting opposition from the fine ICARE DU TRESOR (6) who is clearly close to his race, and the omnipresent IBILI D’OCCAGNES (8) who will be dangerous if he stays in stride. HATE YOU BEYLEV (4) steps up in category in search of the 3-timer and although unlikely to pull it off with shoes back on, should nevertheless figure prominently.

6. GIGI DES NEUF CLOS – Excellent in 3 before oddly flopping to last of 15 in a 2800m Vichy Class F on 2 July. Most likely a blip on the radar and will be expected to bounce back and finish in the mix
7. HABIBI – 2nd in an amateur event here before coming 4th of 9 in a 2900m Amiens Class F a fortnight ago. Yoann Lebourgeois reining this time and will be no easy touch
8. GOOD FRIEND – Unplaced in last 6 starts, latterly 6th of 14 in a 2600m Le Touquet Class F last Sunday, and will need to raise his game
9. GENIAL HAUFOR – 8th of 14, on just 2nd start back, in an amateurs Class F over course and distance last Tuesday. Barefoot this time but backs up with limited ambition

Summary: Excellent when focused and unshod, HOCHE (12) met little opposition here last month and will be well-backed for a repeat. François Lagadeuc will still want to be wary of HASARD D’ERABLE (11) who is back at his best, and a barefoot HORACIO DE CERISY (4) who is reunited with Franck Nivard who won with him at Lisieux mid-May. HABIBI (7) has shown lately that he is back on the right track and will not be far off the mark.

Summary: The main protagonists find themselves on the second row here, with little to separate them, however preference goes to KELYO DU SOLNAN (15) who could well have secured a 4-timer had he kept his action together at Enghien mid-July. Similarly well-engaged at the limit of earnings, KILLER DE CAHOT (16) should not be too hastily-judged for his recent sanction and, reunited with his handler, can successfully bounce back. Hard to fault when focused, and 25m better off, KANTOUTSTART (9) has been close to his race for some time and, barefoot for the occasion, just gets the nod over KOMEO DU DOME (6) who races unshod-behind for the first time.

Summary: A tricky filly at the best of times, KOUREAS D’ELA (6) nonetheless opened her monté account, in good order, at Angers early-June. She showed her form under harness here 10 days ago and, shod to preference, looks a leading contender. Benjamin Rochard will still be keeping an eye on the tricky but capable KALINKA MELRIC (10) who reassured in the provinces last time out. KRONOS JIEL (3) may not be the easiest of horses to handle but he won superbly at Amiens recently and is by no means out of the picture. KABALA QUICK (12) is an interesting future prospect and merits respect.

LOULOU DE L’AUNAY (12) benefits from a very good entry here and has a reasonable chance of making his Cabourg debut a winning one. 15. GUNNER – Showed some improvement when 6th in class F at Cagnes-sur-Mer over 2150m on 15 July. Has shown improvement and is capable of doing better this time
16. HERMES DU DON – Won well in class F at Cagnes-sur-Mer over 2150m on 22 July. Capable of completing the hat-trick of wins
Summary: HERMES DU DON (16) has won some nice races of late and can complete a hat-trick. HOUKO SPORT (8) remains in very good form and should fight out the finish once again. HOTELLO DESBOIS (6) has won four of his last five starts and will not go down easily. HONORINE DES PRES (7) is yet another that is in good shape and capable of contesting the finish.

6. LEBEL DU MIDI – Finished 11th in Class E at Avignon over 2650m on 16 July. Needs to find a few lengths to win
7. LASKO DES FORGES – Victorious in Class F at Hyeres over 2650m on 21 July. Returned to his best form and can contest the finish
8. L’AMIRAL D’EURVAD – Has improved of late and was 5th in class B at Hyeres over 2850m on 29 May. Good penultimate run and should fight out the finish
9. LE GRAND BORNAND – Holding form and was fourth in class D at Hyeres over 2650m on 7 July. Has a winning chance if in the mood
Summary: A difficult race to be confident in. LE GRAND BORNAND (9) likes this track and should be very competitive yet again. L’AMIRAL D’EURVAD (8) has improved of late and was not disgraced last time out at this course. LASKO DES FORGES (7) returned to his best with a good win last time out and can follow up. LORD LA GAUCHERIE (5) is unreliable but is also not out of it.

9. KRUNCH BOCNEUF – Unreliable and was 5th in class F at Cagnes-sur-Mer over 2700m on 17 July. Probably needed to find a few lengths to win
10. KUEEN PEARL – Disqualified in class F at Les Sables-d’Olonne over 2775m on 13 July when barefoot. Has major disqualification issues and others are preferred
11. KOSAK DU FER – Finished 8th in class F at Cagnes-sur-Mer over 2925m on 14 July. Inconsistent of late and has disqualification issues. Best watched for now
Summary: KATE TURGOT (6) is very consistent and deserves a winning turn and she may well get it against these rivals. KACEY BELL (7) was not disgraced last time out and should do even better this time around. KASH MARCEAUX (8) had some fair form before the last start disqualification and can contest the finish. KERJACQUES RED (4) did better earlier this year and could be ready to pop up.

Summary: HEROS DU REYNARD (7) has been consistent at this level and should make a bold bid at scoring in this lucky last race. ILOMBA DU GUESCLIN (4) is barefoot so the last start disqualification is best ignored. IRASKA DUEM (1) is in good shape and will be competitive once again. INGENIOUS BOND (2) is unreliable but ran well enough last time out to be a threat to these rivals.
