French Selections Saturday 31st

R1 VINCENNES [L-H]
C1 – PRIX DE CACHAN – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 52,000

1. FALCO DU HAMEL – 6th of 12 in a 3450m Agon-Coutainville Class E last Monday. Seldom disappoints with Eric Raffin reining and will generate interest

2. FERGIE HIGHLAND – One-paced 7th of 13 in a 2875m Enghien Class D 2.5 weeks ago, but benefits from a good draw and, barefoot this time, can get in on the action

3. FESTIVAL D’ORIENT – Sanctioned, when clearly full of running, in a 2150m Cagnes Class E 2 weeks ago. Has been handed a top-tier draw but others still easier to back

4. FABIARELLE – Encouraged at Biarritz before finishing 8th of 10 in a 2800m Auch Class A on 5 August, but does not make the long trip for reasons of tourism. First 5

5. FAKIR DE GESVRES – Tricky type that came 4th of 10 in a 2150m Enghien claimer 3 weeks ago and is simply not up to the task

6. ASTRONASCENTE ZAC – Returns to France after winning the valuable 2350m Grand Prix de Waregem on Tuesday. Sports a new configuration and, although not an obvious contender, it still worth monitoring

7. GALANTIS – Respectable 6th of 11, on comeback, in a 2850m Class D here 10 days ago. Will have come on for the run and should prove significantly more competitive this time around

8. GETEHI DU NOYER – 8th of 10, behind STARO MOJITO (12), when preparing for this in a 2725m Cabourg Class E a fortnight ago. Hind shoes off for the occasion and even though starting wide, still looks competitively well-in

9. GAROU DU CHENE – Has 2 races under his belt following a long layoff, latterly last but one in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class E on 5 August. Barefoot this time but appears to have been aimed too high

10. MISTER DONALD – Got back in the game mid-month when 3rd of 9 in a 2875m Meslay-du-Maine Class E and, with form maintained, will be competitive for a place on the podium

11. FERIA DE LIGNY – Unthreatening 6th of 12 in a 2750m Class E at La Capelle last Tuesday and is plainly out of her depth

12. STARO MOJITO – Made up for his Meslay sanction when missing out by little in a 2725m Cabourg Class E 2 weeks ago. Has not delivered left-handed for over a year but in current condition is very hard to ignore

13. FILOU NICAUX – 7th of 15 in a 2800m Castéra-Verduzan Class E 12 days ago and has no possible chance

14. DONOVAN DARK – 4th of 7 finishers in a 2150m Enghien Class E on 8 August. Would prefer a more even surface and is unlikely to shake things up

15. AMORCER LEVALLO – Has thrived since coming to France, winning 2 of last 3, latterly a 2150m Enghien Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Is still progressing, aged 8, and can make this his own

16. ADAMO DIPA – 5th behind MISTER DONALD (10) in a 2875m Meslay-du-Maine Class E mid-month. In better company this time and the draw will do him no favours

Summary: Twice a winner since moving to the Duvaldestin yard, AMORCER LEVALLO (15) has a lot more to give and, despite the draw, will be expected to complement his recent Enghien victory. Leading the opposition, GALANTIS (7) is better than his recent effort would suggest and from the front row should again figure prominently. MISTER DONALD (10) reassured mid-month and Alexandre Abrivard takes over in the bike. STARO MOJITO (12) was eye-catching at Cabourg and can again defy the draw.

C2 – PRIX DE MOLAY – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 46,000

1. JUSSY DE PAUMAR – Has not been seen out since winning over 3000m at Avenches in early-May. Starts for new trainer, is barefoot for the occasion, and must not be underestimated

2. DE GAULLE GRIF – Did not enjoy the best of trips when 4th of 9 in a 2150m Class D across town late last month. Is well-positioned in front here and can return to victorious ways

3. INSOLITE EFBE – Went close at Cabourg before securing a 2850m Bréhal Class E on 12 August. Shoes back on and has no particular love for Vincennes

4. IDAHO (SWI) – Raced better in a 2150m Enghien Class E mid-month than the result would suggest, and will not be sent out at 136/1 this time around

5. JUVAMINE RENARDIER – Put her win-drought to bed with success in a 1609m Argentan Class E 3 weeks ago. Is well-placed in front but still no more than a minor place prospect

6. MISS IRMA – Has not been seen out since faulting in a 2700m monté Class D here almost 12 months ago. Is barefoot for re-entry but others still preferred

7. DINGO (ITY) – Yet to win at Vincennes but came a good 2nd of 8 in a 2150m Enghien Class D 3 weeks ago and, with form maintained, can again go close

8. DAYTONA DI CECCO – Has struggled since coming to France, latterly last but one in a 2150m Argentan Class D 3 weeks ago, and can be passed over

9. INDUCTIF – Made it 4 straight sanctions when faulting in a 2725m Pornichet Class F on 1 August, and has no possible chance

10. COSMOS DEL RONCO – Last but one in a 2150m Enghien Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Performant at home in Italy but yet to get into his stride since moving to France and can be ruled out

11. CALIGOLA LASER – Made up for his Enghien disqualification by winning a 2950m Saint-Malo Class E 3.5 weeks ago. On 2nd row but can still make first 5

12. HAWKER TYPOON – 5th of 8 over 2840m at Mons earlier this month and looks to be out of his depth

13. MISS JAJA – Failed to confirm her Enghien success when last but one in a 2150m Argentan Class D 3 weeks ago. Seldom disappoints for Alexandre Abrivard though and should not be far from the action

14. DYNAMIC FLIGHT LF – Respectable 3rd to DERBY KRONOS (16) in a 2150m Enghien Class E earlier this month. Pulled a tough draw however and is not about to spring a surprise

15. DEMETRIO – 3rd of 8, a place behind DINGO (ITY) (7), in a 2150m Enghien Class D 3 weeks ago. Unplaced last time here and has been handed a difficult draw, but should still be more competitive

16. DERBY KRONOS – Made it 2 on the trot when winning a 2150m Enghien Class E on 4 August, with Eric Raffin in the bike, and despite the draw still looks a serious proposition

Summary: After a couple of initial hiccups, DE GAULLE GRIF (2) has been hard to fault since coming to France and, a winner here on his penultimate start, he races barefoot for the occasion and can impose. Another Italian import, DERBY KRONOS (16) has been handed a tough draw but comes here on a hat-trick and will be no pushover if Eric Raffin keeps him trotting. At the top of his game, DINGO (ITY) (7) showed his form last time out and is unlikely to be far off the mark. IDAHO (SWI) (4) has the plum spot behind the car and, even though shod again, still looks a player.

SELECTIONS

C3 – PRIX ANNICK DREUX-CRITERIUM 3 ANS Q3 – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Gr2 Race – Harness – EUR € 130,000

1. LUMINEUSE DE BRION – Takes a notable step up in category after winning a 2625m Class B at La Rochelle a month ago. Hind pads fitted as they were when successful over course and distance in June but still a minor place chance at best

2. LILI DRY – Took little time losing her action in race of reference and is too frequently object of the stewards’ scrutiny to make her an appealing candidate

3. LIPANGA DE GUEZ – Sanctioned early in Prix Reine du Corta 2 weeks ago. Has little going for her here and can be disregarded

4. LOVE LETTER – Unlucky not to have finished closer than 5th in 17 August race of reference but will not be improving on that this time around

5. LUSH LIFE – Quickly sanctioned in 2175m Gr.2 Prix Reine du Corta here 2 weeks ago but can get a look-in if David Thomain gets her off on the right foot

6. LUMINOSITY – Fast-finishing 2nd of 8 in a 2725m Pornichet Class B 2.5 weeks ago. Front pads fitted, with Alexandre Abrivard drafted in for the occasion, but still not a priority

7. LA FEE DU NOYER – 6th in race of reference before faulting early in a Gr.3 over course and distance a week ago. Not a priority but will still have her supporters

8. LUNA NOVA GWEN – Won a 2700m Graignes Class B in preparation for this 3 weeks ago. Has decent references in this class and a realistic chance of trotting in for a cheque

9. LONDON – Made up for 2 straight sanctions when runner-up to LOTTA BOURBON (13) in 2175m Gr.2 Prix Reine du Corta here a fortnight ago. Front pads fitted this time and, if applied, can make a big impact

10. LET ME SHINE GIO – Sanctioned in last 3, latterly 17 August race of reference, and is unlikely to generate much interest

11. LITTLE ORELIE –

12. LEXIE DE BANVILLE – Makes first appearance since winning 2700m monté Gr.1 Prix d’Essai late-June. Shoes on and will have other priorities

13. LOTTA BOURBON – Convincing winner of 2175m Gr.2 Prix Reine du Corta here 2 weeks ago. Won a Gr.2 over 2700m here in May and, if focused, can bring the battle to LIZA JOSSELYN (14)

14. LIZA JOSSELYN – 3rd in Gr.1 Prix Albert Viel before trotting a rather unlucky 4th to LOTTA BOURBON in Prix Reine du Corta. On class alone is better than the field and can make amends and win this

15. LOUISIANE DE BOMO – Courageous 3rd to LOTTA BOURBON (13) in 2175m Gr.2 Prix Reine du Corta here 2 weeks ago. Has previously won under these conditions and will be expected to put on another good show

Summary: Remarkable for most of her career to date, LIZA JOSSELYN (14) started her Gr.2 Prix Reine du Corta run a bit late recently and JMB will be eager to put things right. Solid winner that day, LOTTA BOURBON (13) has good references over 2700m here and will not be going down without a fight. LONDON (9) and LOUISIANE DE BOMO (15) finished respectively 2nd and 3rd on that occasion and can again finish in the mix.

SELECTIONS

C4 – PRIX JOCKEY-CRITERIUM 5 ANS Q2 – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Gr2 Race – Harness – EUR € 120,000

1. JOLIE POUPEE – Superb 3rd of 10, at 72/1, in race of reference, but a repeat performance seems improbable

2. JABALPUR – Made it 2 in a row when clinching victory in a 2150m Enghien Class B earlier this month. Is not about to win this but should nevertheless give a competitive account

3. JOCONDE SIBEY – Respectable 7th of 10 to JUSTIN BOLD (13) in 2175m Gr.2 Prix Louis Jariel over 2175m here a fortnight ago. Has raced and placed in this category but others still preferred

4. JASON – 9th of 10, on return from a spell, in a 3100m Vibraye Class D mid-month. Has not once disappointed when fitted with front pads and will be worth keeping an eye on

5. JUST A MIDI – Beat JIOSCO DE PHYT’S (8) to win an Enghien Gr.3 before faulting in Prix Louis Jariel 2 weeks ago. Form is not in question and will have a decent first-5 chance if Sébastien Baude keeps him trotting

6. JANGO VICI – Defied his 83/1 price to run 6th to JUSTIN BOLD (13) in race of reference. Unlikely to spring another surprise but should nevertheless acquit himself honourably

7. JOUMBA DE GUEZ – Full of running when sanctioned in 3000m Gr.1 Prix de Normandie late-June. Just hind shoes off and cannot be considered a contender

8. JIOSCO DE PHYT’S – Unlucky to be sanctioned, when prohibitive favourite, in a Gr.3 over course and distance last Saturday. Steps back up in category and while unlikely to open his Gr.2 account, can still mix things up at the business end

9. JEROBOAM D’ERABLE – Remarkable trotter that dominated 3000m monté Gr.1 Prix de Normandie on 23 June. Here for reasons of conditioning though and can be ignored

10. JASPER DES CHARMES – Won under harness at Cabourg  before confirming superbly in a 2175m monté Gr.3 here 2 weeks ago. Reverts to a previous formula and although not a priority must still be respected

11. JAG STRYCK – Disappointing of late, most recently last but one in race of reference, and is unlikely to influence the outcome

12. J’AIME LE FOOT – Fine dual-discipline sort making first appearance since coming 3rd to JEROBOAM D’ERABLE (9) in 3000m monté Gr.1 Prix de Normandie late-June. Has other priorities and can be passed over

13. JUSTIN BOLD – Won 2175m Gr.2 Prix Louis Jariel over 2175m here a fortnight ago. Has excellent credentials over 2700m here and can apply the pressure on JUSHUA TREE (16)

14. JOSH POWER – Highly-consistent at this level, latterly 4th of 10 finishers in Gr.2 Prix Louis Jariel over 2175m here a fortnight ago. Has 3 races under his belt and, sporting a new configuration, is not to be underestimated

15. JUST LOVE YOU – Last of 10 finishers in 2175m Prix Louis Jariel 2 weeks ago. Has excellent form over course and distance but in present form is hard to make a case

16. JUSHUA TREE – Would have finished in the money had he not faulted in Gr.2 Prix Louis Jariel over 2175m here a fortnight ago. Stays shod but is clearly in rude health and, with application, should have this in the bag

17. JUST A GIGOLO – Re-established his reputation with a solid 1609m Argentan Gr.2 win 3 weeks ago. Boasts excellent references over the day’s trip and is not incapable of doubling his money

Summary: Winner of the Gr.2 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardère when shod for re-entry, JUSHUA TREE (16) would have finished close in the Gr.2 Prix Louis Jariel next time had he kept trotting, and JMB will be loathe to let the same thing happen again. A 14/1 winner that day, JUSTIN BOLD (13) reverts to racing with front pads but still looks a serious proposition. JUST A GIGOLO (17) put any doubts to bed when successful in an Argentan Gr.2 last time out and returns to Paris with morale intact. JIOSCO DE PHYT’S (8) was most unlucky last time out and Eric Raffin will be determined to set the record straight.

C5 – PRIX PARISTURF (PRIX DE NEUILLY) – 2850m (a2m) – Class B Race – Harness – EUR € 75,000

1. GOLDEN VISAIS – 8th of 12 in a 2150m Enghien Class D 2.5 weeks ago. Barefoot this time, with Eric Raffin drafted in for the occasion, but still not an obvious choice

2. GREAT OF MADRIK – Last but one to HAPPY DANICA (5) in a 2700m Class C here 10 days ago and must first re-establish his credentials

3. SAHARA JAEBURN – Showed improvement when 6th to HAPPY DANICA (5) in a 2700m Class C here 10 days ago but still has a lot more to find

4. GIRL DE BASSIERE – Reassuring 3rd to HAPPY DANICA (5) in a 2700m Class C here 10 days ago. Not a priority but races first time barefoot and should not be overlooked

5. HAPPY DANICA – Close 2nd to HEDE DARLING (9) across town late-July before dominating a 2700m Class C here 10 days ago, and is not incapable of confirming

6. GOLD VOICE – Tricky character that faulted in a 2175m monté Gr.3 here early-June. Has not been seen out since and, barefoot or not, will have little to contribute

7. GUINESS D’HERFRAIE – Returns to her preferred course and distance after coming 6th to HANNIBAL TUILERIE (15) in a 2875m Enghien Class B late-July. Has little room for manoeuvre but can still make first 5

8. GRINDELWALD – Last of 10 to GIBUS (12) in a 2000m Class B at Les Sables-d’Olonne 3 weeks ago and is not about to cause an upset

9. HEDE DARLING – Comfortable winner of a 2875m Enghien Class B a month back. JMB takes over the reins and looks the pick of the field

10. GOLD DAIRPET – Oddly out of sorts when 10th of 14 in 24 July race of reference. Appreciates 2850m over the main track however and will have his supporters

11. FONZY D’HERIPRE – Has talent in spades but is as tricky as they come, faulting in a 2050m Class B at Divonne-les-Bains 3 weeks ago. Alexandre Abrivard at the helm this time and will not be far from the action if he can keep his charge trotting

12. GIBUS – Surprise winner of a 2000m Class B at Les Sables-d’Olonne on 9 August. Has previously won under these conditions and must be taken more seriously this time

13. FAUBOURG – Sanctioned in last 2, most recently over 2300m at Mons on 8 August, and can be ruled out

14. HONKY TONK BLUES – Solid 5th of 8 in a 2700m Gr.3 here a week ago. Is plainly on the right road and can play a small part

15. HANNIBAL TUILERIE – A veritable steamroller when barefoot, as he showed when victorious in a 2875m Enghien Class B late-July. Enjoys an excellent entry and Matthieu Abrivard will not let the opportunity slip by

Summary: Twice a winner last month, latterly in good order at Enghien, HEDE DARLING (9) went close last time under these conditions, and with JMB in the wagon, can repeat. HAPPY DANICA (5) ran him close that day before winning over 2700m here and should again figure prominently, but may first have to defer to the on-form HANNIBAL TUILERIE (15) who boasts excellent references over course and distance. GIBUS (12) sprang a 39/1 surprise at Les Sables-d’Olonne 3 weeks ago and, if not just a flash in the pan, will have his chances.

SELECTIONS

C6 – PRIX GASTON BRUNET-CRITERIUM 4 ANS Q4 – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Gr2 Race – Harness – EUR € 120,000

1. KAPORAL DES FORGES – Races barefoot for first time after coming 7th of 9 in 17 August race of reference, but will still have little to contribute

2. KANTO AVIS – 7th of 9 finishers in 2175m Gr.2 Prix Phaeton a fortnight ago and will not be improving on that

3. KATAKI DE WALLIS – Stayed on well to win a 2875m Enghien Class B 3 weeks ago. Is clearly progressing and deserves to take his chances, but others more competitive

4. KHAL’S FELLA – Sports a new configuration, and has been entrusted to Eric Raffin for first time, after finishing last but one in race of reference. Cannot be considered a live chance but should nevertheless show improvement

5. KAVIARISSIME – Failed to confirm his Gr.3 Prix du Louvre performance when 7th to KNOCKONWOOD (6) in 2875m Gr.3 Prix de Genève early this month, and appears to have too much to do

6. KNOCKONWOOD – Lost his action, when 2nd-favourite, in 2175m Gr.2 Prix Phaeton 2 weeks ago. Has taken well to his current configuration and Yoann Lebourgeois will be eager to put the record straight. Attention

7. KARLITO – Close 2nd of 9 in 2175m Gr.2 Prix Phaeton a fortnight ago. Shoes back on this time but is still capable of challenging for a spot in first 3

8. KSAR – Missed out by little for 4th in Prix Phaeton race of reference 2 weeks ago. Yet to win over the distance but seldom disappoints when focused and will justifiably garner support

9. KING OPERA – Noteworthy 6th behind KARLITO (7) in 2175m Gr.2 Prix Phaeton a fortnight ago. Sports modified shoeing and looks considerably more dangerous this time around. Chance

10. KRACK TIME ATOUT – Runner-up to KNOCKONWOOD (6) in 2875m Gr.3 Prix de Genève on 3 August. Is plainly close to his race and looks eminently capable of imposing

11. KOCTEL DU DAIN – Returns to racing barefoot after finishing 4th, 2 places behind KARLITO (7), in 2175m Gr.2 Prix Phaeton a fortnight ago. Simply excels over 2700m here and will be well-backed to topple KRACK TIME ATOUT (10)

Summary: Nothing is a given here with two top-class colts fighting for supremacy of their generation, a small preference going to KRACK TIME ATOUT (10) who has been in excellent shape since the spring. KOCTEL DU DAIN (11), by some margin the wealthiest horse here, is barefoot over a distance he adores and must also be considered a serious proposition. KING OPERA (9) caught the eye in the Gr.2 Prix Phaeton and, sporting 4 pads this time, should be able to turn the tables on a shod KARLITO (7) who ran 2nd that day.

SELECTIONS

C7 – PRIX J. DE VAULOGE-CRITERIUM 3 ANS Q4 – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Gr2 Race – Harness – EUR € 120,000

1. LOOPING DAY – Makes first appearance since coming 3rd of 7 finishers in a 2700m Gr.3 here early-June. Has previously won for Eric Raffin but appears to have his work cut out on this occasion

2. LUCAS – Unraced since finishing 6th of 7 in a 2700m monté Gr.3 here on 11 June. Here for reasons of conditioning and has nothing to offer

3. LOGAN JIEL – 7th of 8 finishers in 17 August race of reference. Has never delivered in this class and is not about to start

4. LIGHT MY FIRE – Full-brother to Bold Eagle that failed to confirm his Enghien score when lacklustre 6th of 8 in 2175m Gr.2 Prix Abel Bassigny here 2 weeks ago. Pads all around this time and improvement anticipated

5. LITTLE BROWN – Has turned a corner of late, most recently 3rd to LOMBOK JIEL (9) in race of reference 2 weeks ago. Is plainly on the way back up and can again finish close

6. LUCKY SIBEY – Has not been seen out since trotting 4th of 7 finishers in 2700m monté Gr.1 Prix d’Essai on 23 June. Has other priorities and can be ignored

7. LUCKY JACKSON – Not as sharp as he was during the spring, latterly 5th of 8 in Gr.2 Prix Abel Bassigny 2 weeks ago, but it is only a question of time before he returns to victorious ways. Attention

8. LOULOU DE MYE – 2nd to LOMBOK JIEL (9) in Gr.1 Prix Albert Viel before coming 4th of 8 to him in Gr.2 Prix Abel Bassigny a fortnight ago. 4 pads fitted this time and must be taken seriously

9. LOMBOK JIEL – Simply superb lately, most recently winning 2175m Gr.2 Prix Abel Bassigny here 2 weeks ago, and the hat-trick is well within his grasp

10. LUCIANO MENUET – Ran 2nd of 5 finishers in a 2700m Vincennes Gr.3 a week ago. Has previously won under similar conditions and, with hind pads fitted, can give LOMBOK JIEL (9) something to consider

Summary: After making short work of the Gr.1 Prix Albert Viel, LOMBOK JIEL (9) returned to competition 2 weeks ago to win the Gr.2 Prix Abel Bassigny with consummate ease and, in similar form, will take some beating. Sanctioned that day before running 2nd in a valuable Gr.3 here last weekend, LUCIANO MENUET (10) is fitted with hind pads this time and looks the principal danger. LITTLE BROWN (5) defied his odds here a fortnight ago and can again make the frame. The talented LOULOU DE MYE (8) is more competitively-shod this time and has a realistic chance of trotting his way onto the podium.

SELECTIONS

C8 – PRIX G. DE WAZIERES-CRITERIUM 4 ANS Q3 – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Gr2 Race – Harness – EUR € 120,000

1. KOSANOSTRA – Sanctioned 2 weeks ago in race of reference. Is plainly in good shape but nonetheless appears to be biting off more than she can chew

2. KISS ME BOURBON – Back under harness after faulting in a 2250m Enghien monté Class C late last month. Barefoot this time but still has no realistic chance

3. KOUFRA IRIS’EYES – Not disgraced when 6th in race of reference, on first start at this level, but still represents no more than a minor place prospect

4. KILLER QUEEN – Makes first start at this level after trotting 7th of 9 in a 2875m Class B late-July. Raffin stays faithful but chances still limited

5. KERRY LOVE – Makes first appearance since faulting in a 2700m monté Gr.3 here last February. Shoes on and no threat

6. KONFINEE – 5th, a place behind KIARA DE VANDEL (9), in a 2875m Enghien Class B 3 weeks ago. Will be fully fit by now and, with some luck in running, can pick up a cheque

7. KEMIA DU CHENE – Caught the eye when 5th of 9 finishers in 2175m Gr.2 Prix Paul Leguerney 2 weeks ago. Better over this longer trip and can challenge for a place in the frame

8. KOKOTE – Sanctioned early in Gr.2 Prix Paul Leguerney 2 weeks ago. Has merit though and should not be far off the mark if she stays focused

9. KIARA DE VANDEL – Useful but has never delivered at this level. Was going well before faulting in race of reference 2 weeks ago, but still has a mountain to climb

10. KELLE BEAUTE – Won Gr.2 Prix Guy le Gonidec earlier in the summer before faulting in next two, most recently the race of reference. Is plainly in form though and, with application, can make a big splash

11. KALMIA QUICK – Made up for Gr.2 Prix Guy le Gonidec disappointment with facile success in a 2150m Cagnes Class C mid-month. No chance of winning but can still play an active role

12. KABAKA DE GUEZ – Took her game up a level when 2nd in 2175m Gr.2 Prix Paul Leguerney a fortnight ago. Is less performant over this trip but is nevertheless very hard to ignore

13. KANA DE BEYLEV – Put a brace of sanctions behind her when 4th behind KABAKA DE GUEZ (12) in 2175m Gr.2 Prix Paul Leguerney 2 weeks ago. Runner-up last time under these conditions and can impose

Summary: KABAKA DE GUEZ (12) left a very good impression here 2 weeks ago when runner-up in the Gr.2 Prix Paul Leguerney. She will be expected to play a prominent role once more, but may first have to see off KANA DE BEYLEV (13) who thrives over 2700m here. KELLE BEAUTE (10) had ample gas in the tank when sanctioned that day and, already a Gr.2 course-and-distance winner this summer, will be dangerous if applied. 5th a fortnight ago, KEMIA DU CHENE (7) seldom disappoints and has the capacity to finish closer this time.

SELECTIONS

1. KAPORAL VISAIS – 7th of 10 finishers in a 2850m Carentan Class D mid-month. Boasts a good Vincennes record but in this company, will have too much to do

2. KOZIELLO DE LOU – Runner-up at Enghien last month before winning a 2725m Cabourg Class E 3 weeks ago. Has previously won here but is not the biggest Vincennes fan and others easier to back

3. KAZAR – Has not missed a beat since returning from his break, latterly winning a 2150m Enghien Class D on 3 August. Steps up in category but is freshly-reconfigured and must be afforded respect

4. KEPI DEL – Tenacious 2nd of 6 in a 2925m Cagnes Class C a fortnight ago. Has placed just once in 5 here but, with form maintained, could spring a pleasant surprise

5. KERALDO – 5th of 11 on re-entry, behind KIF DU BIEF (8), in a 2875m Enghien Class C late last month. Will have come on for the run but cannot be considered a player

6. KARAMBAR – Serious sort that finished a good 2nd of 12 in a 2850m Meslay-du-Maine Class B a month ago. Appreciates the main-track profile and will be competitive for victory

7. KATIM DU GOUTIER – 7th of 12 in a 2875m Enghien Class C on 8 August and once again appears to have little to contribute

8. KIF DU BIEF – Has been knocking at the door this term, most recently 2nd of 11 in a 2875m Enghien Class C on 24 July. New to 2850m here but in present shape is very easy to like

9. KITTS ET NEVIS – Has not raced since coming 3rd of 9 in a 2875m Enghien Class C early-July. Has had time to get back in shape and, with application, can wrap this up

Summary: A tough nut to crack when focused, KITTS ET NEVIS (9) left a very good impression across town early last month; he comes here fresh and can win this if Yoann Lebourgeois keeps him trotting. He will still encounter resistance from the on-form and barefoot KARAMBAR (6) who has won 2 of 3 Vincennes starts, and KIF DU BIEF (8) who has been lurking recently. Close 2nd on the Riviera 2 weeks ago, KEPI DEL (4) has never disappointed in the day’s configuration and is unlikely to be far off the mark.
