C1 – PRIX DE LA LANDE DE BRUYERE – 1200m (a6f) – TURF – Handicap – Flat – EUR € 21,000 |
1. BAKHILOVA – Won a course-and-distance handicap last month and shouldn’t be hastily condemned for finishing 12th in a 1300m PSF handicap at Deauville on 24 October. Return to turf will suit
2. FORTUNATE SON – Consistent sort with sound references. Unplaced (9th) in a course-and-distance handicap last month but finished a reassuring 2nd over 1100m at Le Croise-Laroche on 18 October
3. BOMBEY – Finished 3rd in a 1200m Strasbourg handicap off a 3kg higher mark on 8 July. Unplaced in 4 subsequent starts, the latest (8th) in a 1400m Nancy handicap on 22 October – lurker
4. QUITE RIGHT TOO – Improved with each drop in the weights/ratings – finished 2nd in an 1100m handicap at Le Croise-Laroche. Unplaced (13th) in a 1300m PSF handicap at Deauville on 24 October but will appreciate being back on turf
5. BAILEYS BACHELOR – Finished 3rd over 1000m at Dieppe on his handicap debut but unplaced in 2 subsequent handicap appearances, the latest (9th) on PSF over 1300m at Deauville on 24 October
6. LOLLIPOP STAR – Didn’t go unnoticed when 6th under Maxime Guyon in a course-and-distance handicap at this venue last month. Finished a good 4th in a 1350m Cholet handicap on 3 November
7. BAYLINER – Versatile colt with sound references/credentials in handicaps on both surfaces, including a last-start 3rd in a 1300m PSF handicap at Deauville on 24 October. Dark horse
8. PACOSTAR – Finished 3rd on his handicap debut at Vichy over 1000m on 7 August but unplaced in all 4 subsequent starts, the latest (5th) in a 1200m Agen claimer on 27 October – can do better
9. FIRST ONE – Closely matched with LOLLIPOP STAR (6) on the form of their meeting in the benchmark race won by BAKHILOVA (1) over this course and distance on 8 October. Not taken lightly
10. BOTTOMS UP – Experienced 24-start maiden with sound references, albeit without a victory – seldom far off the mark. Unplaced (7th) over 1100m at Le Croise-Laroche on 18 October
11. BAWE ISLAND – Experienced filly with references in handicaps off higher marks but currently out of sorts. Well-beaten 11th over 1400m in a Nancy handicap on 22 October
12. FIRE REBEL – Unplaced in all 5 handicap appearances. Finished a career-best 3rd in an 1100m Class 3 conditions race at Angoulême on 20 October – more to do back in a handicap
13. RECREATE – Inconsistent performer with undeniable means and sound references in turf handicaps, including a last-start 3rd in 1200m Marseille-Borély handicap on 22 October. Keep safe
14. KENPIC – A 12-start maiden soundly beaten in 5 handicap appearances. Unplaced (6th) over 1700m at Saint-Brieuc on 6 October
Summary: BAKHILOVA (1) was an authoritative winner of a similar course-and-distance handicap last month and she needs only to repeat that performance to reconnect with success. LOLLIPOP STAR (6), FIRST ONE (9) and FORTUNATE SON (2) finished 6th, 7th and 9th respectively in that reference race on 8 October and should pose more of a threat on these revised weight terms. RECREATE (13) and QUITE RIGHT TOO (4) have place chances.

2. HIDE THE EVIDENCE – Debut winner at Bordeaux in April before a 6-month layoff. Finished an encouraging 4th over 1300m on PSF at Chantilly on 29 October – warrants respect on her handicap debut
3. DYONISOS – Experienced colt with sound form references/credentials, including a good 3rd in his only handicap appearance. Finished 7th on PSF over 1300m at Deauville on 2 November but is capable of better back in a handicap on turf
4. KING RETURN – Finished 4th over 1000m on debut at Chantilly in May but hasn’t confirmed that promise in 3 starts since, the latest over 1300m (PSF) at Deauville on 2 November. Handicap debut
5. POSAFOLIE – Ultra-consistent filly with the form experience to play a leading role on handicap debut. Showed her well-being when 2nd in an 1100m claimer at Le Croise-Laroche on 7 October
6. DOCTEUR SAFI – Won and finished 2nd in back-to-back 1200m turf handicaps at Chantilly before finishing 5th in a course-and-distance Class 2 conditions race on 8 October. Sets the standard
7. MARY JAYNE – Confirmed the form/improvement of her 3rd at Dax last month by opening her account at Chantilly on heavy ground over 1100m on 17 October. Respected despite a 2,5kg penalty
8. LOVELY DREAM – Wasn’t beaten far (6th) in a 1400m PSF handicap at Chantilly on 29 October. Eased 0,5kg on her return to turf
9. SHEARKAN – Unplaced in 3 all starts but didn’t go unnoticed when 5th over 1200m at Le Lion-d’Angers on 15 September. Could have more to offer in a handicap for the first time
10. KEY TO VICTORY – Unplaced in 3 handicap appearances, the latest (13th) in a 1400m Chantilly PSF handicap on 29 October. Races off a career-low mark
11. FISFUL OF LOVE – Experienced 14-start maiden with sound references in handicaps. Not written off back on turf after her recent failure (12th) in a 1400m PSF handicap at Chantilly on 29 October
12. PERGOLOR – Unplaced in 3 appearances although improving with each start. Didn’t go unnoticed (5th) at Vichy over 1000m on 24 September but is best watched for now on his handicap debut
13. OCEANE PEARL – Placed twice in 7 starts (claimers) but is unlikely to trouble the judge on handicap debut, having finished 9th over 1600m at Lignières on 1 November. Others preferred
Summary: DOCTEUR SAFI (6) is experienced and competitive off her current mark so is a legitimate candidate for race honours. However, so too is last-start scorer MARY JAYNE (7), despite a 2,5kg penalty for her recent victory at Chantilly. DYONISOS (3) finished a commendable 3rd in his only handicap appearance so isn’t without a chance either. POSAFOLIE (5) and HIDE THE EVIDENCE (2) appeal most of the remainder.

11. PRINCESS LILY – Well-beaten 5th of 7 on debut at Clairefontaine over 2200m on 25 October. Improvement needed
Summary: O’WOOD (3) has only once finished worse than 3rd in 8 starts. He is a genuine candidate for success, even if his only failure was at this venue. SABROSO (1) has the means to fight for victory on his reappearance and shouldn’t be underestimated. ACOTANGO (4), who is open to improvement stretching out to this distance for the first time, and MAKE A WISH (10), after her reassuring 3rd last time out, complete the shortlist.

2. MR BRIGHTSIDE – Well-bred gelding (out of Jazz Mélodie) whose last-start 6th over 1600m at Clairefontaine on 5 July is better than it reads. Has legitimate winning ambitions on his reappearance
3. RASTRELLARE – Consistent colt with solid form references/credentials, albeit without a win from 5 starts. Finished 5th in a 1600m Saint-Cloud handicap on 10 October – candidate for success
4. SURVIVOL – Finished 7th of 8 in a 1600m newcomers’ race on heavy ground over 1600m at Deauville on 23 October. Can only improve with the benefit of that experience
5. LE ROI LEON – Long-time leader on debut at ParisLongchamp before finishing a game-in-defeat 4th over 1800m on heavy ground last month (20 October). Would’ve improved for that experience
6. KEKOA MAKANI – Well-beaten 4th of 4 on debut at Haras du Pin over 1400m on 27 October. Should improve for that experience

13. MONSIEUR ROGER – Eddy Hardouin is a notable jockey booking aboard this Le Brivido gelding from the stable of Jehan Bertran de Balanda
Summary: Well-bred MR BRIGHTSIDE (2) is bred to excel on rain-affected ground. He is unexposed and remains open to improvement so gets the nod ahead of experienced rival RASTRELLARE (3) who boasts sound references in handicaps and will be competitive back in a maiden. LE ROI LEON (5) ran with promise on debut and will make his presence felt if building on the encouragement of that ParisLongchamp introduction. ROULETTE (7) and MON COMEDIEN (8) aren’t without a prayer and have podium prospects.

OURO PRETO (7) ran a cracker straight out the maidens and looks to have more to offer. GANASS (16) slots in with a nice galloping weight and should be on the premises. Winning seems to come at a premium but he can be competitve. PINGO (12) was unlucky to not get her head in front last time out but with a repeat performance, she should challenge.

Summary: MISTER GATZ (6) arrives in solid form and has been tested at this level. He runs as if he will enjoy the extra yardage and rates the one to beat. BEL ET BIEN (2) has been super consistent and added another win to his CV when winning a good race over this trip last time out. He has the right form and should be a big player. OXFORD COMMA (8) comes over from the UK and represents the bang in form yard of RM. Beckett. She stays well and will provide a huge challenge for the French horses. ATHINEOS (5) was best of the rest last time out and with a bit of luck on his side, he could go one better with weight off the back. INCLINATION (8) has posted two pleasing efforts and should be a threat on the basis off those runs. RIYAK (3) arrives in cracking form and should be right in the thick of things.

He gets the vote ahead of JAKARTA DE FROM (1) who is a threat and has been racing in strong events of late. She was a good 4th in a Group 3 AQ race three starts ago at Vichy in July. Her main threat could be DYLAN’S SPIRIT (3) who won three starts ago and was a pleasing third at Argentan in early October on her latest run. MERI LILOU (1) looks like the each way option. Summary: PETIT TRUC (1)has only been beaten once in five starts when second on that occasion. His latest win was over hurdles at Argentan in late October. 6. JUMPER DETE – Two unplaced runs of late, 2nd before that over 3500m at Pau in a handicap hurdle on February 18th. Chase debut and is best watched for now
Summary: MARVIN FLIGHT (3) was a good second at Saint-Brieuc 18 days ago in a Class 3 chase and can go one better this time at the expense of old rival JIBSON (1) who was fourth in the same race and looks like the main threat. JELKA DE MEE (2) won the race that all three contested last time and on less favourable terms she has more on her plate, although she can make her rivals work hard for success. She also won twice on the flat and was placed on the only other start. She can score from MADE BY DE HOUELLE (2) who was a decent third in a Class 3 chase two starts ago at the end of last month. 14. ROSA RUGOSA – Unplaced last time, 3rd before that over 3900m at Nantes in a Class 4 hurdle on September 10th. Down in class and can make the top three
Summary: LOKO MOME (2) showed improved form when fourth at Compiegne in what looked like a competitive claiming hurdle in late October. She looks like she is improving and is the tentative selection ahead of STYLE AROMA (8) who has been unplaced on her last two runs but scored at Vertou in August before that in a maiden hurdle by thirteen lengths. ROSA RUGOSA (14) is one to include in all of the place bet permutations. LA BELLE HISTOIRE (10) makes up the shortlist.

7. MANAROSE – Won last time over 3200m in a Class 4 flat race at Landivisiau on October 13th. Second run over hurdles and others are preferred
8. KEFIR DES BORDES – Unplaced hurdle debut last time, 2nd before that on the flat at St-Jean-De Mont on August 25th over 3100m. Best watched for the time being
9. KLAP FOREVER – Unplaced on both runs over hurdles, the latter over 3500m at this track in a Class 4 race on October 19th. Unlikely to feature
10. KINGMAN D’AMSYL – 4th on the flat last time over 2600m in a conditions race at Landivisiau on October 13th. Others make more appeal
11. KAPACA DE THAIX – Two unplaced runs on the flat, the latter when 7th at Saint-Brieuc on October 27th over 2400m. From a shrewd stable and warrants respect on hurdles debut
12. KITO DE LA RUE – Unplaced on the sole run on the flat over 3300m at Morlaix on September 22nd. Hurdle debut and is one to watch this time
13. LORCAN – Won three races on the flat, Unplaced last time over 1900m in a Class 2 handicap at Chantilly on October 1st. Tries hurdles and is one to watch in the betting

Summary: KABYLIE (6) was a decent third at Auteuil in mid-September on her second try over hurdles. She will be sharper for that and can get the verdict over KREMLIN (5) who is a winner and ran well recently when second at Saint-Brieuc in early October. He will be well schooled by connections and can play a lead role on his hurdling debut. KERDANE (3) is already a winner and can make the top three. LORCAN (13) won three times on the flat and is one to watch in the betting on hurdles debut.

C1 – PRIX ALBERT LIBEER – 2175m (a1m1/4) – Class D Race – Mounted – EUR € 46,000 |
1. WILDA KNIGHT – Has not been seen out since running 4th of 11 over 1640m at Solvalla on 18 September. Hind shoes off for first time and, confirmed in the discipline at home in Sweden, and will be ably guided around by Benjamin Rochard. Attention
2. NYMKE BRIGADOON – Unremarkable 6th of 9 in a 2800m Chartres Class E mid-October and already looks to be out of her depth
3. HEADLINE FAC – Has turned a corner since being associated with Adrien Lamy, latterly winning a 2700m Graignes Class F on 2 October. May struggle to repeat but can still make first 3
4. ILOVIROIZ DI LEONE – Last but one in a 2875m Enghien Class D a month ago and would be preferred at a lower level
5. LOADED LEILA – Won a Class E at Angouleme before faulting in a 2725m Cabourg harness Class D mid-October. Debuts under the saddle with the good Estelle Croisic in the irons and the new configuration should stand her in good stead
6. ISABELLA DIMJY – Placed at Meslay before galloping early in a 2775m Class E at Les Sables 3.5 weeks ago, and is unlikely to spring any surprises
7. IRESINE DU LUPIN – Yet to deliver since the break, most recently sanctioned in a 2700m Class D here late last month. Has bags of ability though, hind shoes off for the occasion, and it is only a question of time before she comes good again
8. IDOLE DE RETZ – 9th of 14 in a 2700m harness Class D here a fortnight ago. Has nothing to prove under these conditions and is not incapable of contesting the finish
9. ITALIA SOLO – Drops in category after finishing 8th of 10 in a Class D over course and distance 3.5 weeks ago. Is proven here but current form does little to convince
10. ISLAMORADA – Won over the short course here before imposing easily in a 2700m Class D here late last month. Modified shoeing this time but will still garner the lion’s share of support
Summary: A remarkable campaigner in the monté division, the ideally-engaged ISLAMORADA (10) simply excels at Vincennes when barefoot, and even though sporting just front pads this time, she still looks the one to beat. Unbeaten in 2 harness starts over course and distance, IDOLE DE RETZ (8) can boast solid references under the saddle and, shod to preference, will be no easy touch. HEADLINE FAC (3) is like a horse reborn this autumn and will have her chances.

C2 – PRIX AGATHE – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 40,000 |
1. LEADER DE SEVRE – Sanctioned, on comeback, in a Class C over course and distance a fortnight ago. Preparing for campaign under the saddle and will have nothing to offer
2. LORENZO DE CHENU – Course-and-distance winner during the spring but yet to get into his stride this term, latterly last but one in a 2850m Class C here on 22 October. Hind pads fitted for first time and will be one to watch
3. LYNX DU RIB – Hardy sort making first start since running 2nd to LE BILLET VERT (10) in a 2750m Cabourg Class D late-August. Debuts at the venue and is unlikely to shake things up
4. LORD DU BASSIN – Quality colt that comfortably won a 2100m Class E over the inner track here on 29 October. Debuts on the main track but has the profile and can repeat
5. LOVER STILL – Won a Class E here before faulting in the latter stages of a 2100m Class C here early last month. Sports just hind pads this time and is unlikely to be far from the action
6. LASKO DES BROUSSES – Won at Les Sables before being pipped in a 2875m Enghien Class D late-September. Eric Raffin maintains faith and is very much in the picture
7. LATINO PURA VIDA – 8th of 11 in a 2825m Chartres Class E 10 days ago. Fitted with 4 pads this time but still seems to be taking on more than he can handle
8. LORD DELO – Sanctioned, when clearly in shape, in a 2850m Class C here on 22 October. Has ample ability though and, with application, can make a big splash
9. LOVELY TRIP – Disappointing before being sanctioned in a 2750m Cherbourg Class C mid-August. Is not without merit but will be expected to need the run
10. LE BILLET VERT – Drops in category after running a respectable 7th of 12, behind LEXINGTON DANICA (11), in a 2850m Class C here on 22 October. Yet to prove himself right-handed but has a lot going for him here. Chance
11. LEXINGTON DANICA – Pleasant 6th of 12 in 22 October race of reference. Tackles main track for first time and even with Benjamin Rochard reining, is unlikely to cause an upset
12. LOIC BARON – 3rd of 10 finishers in a 2100m Class C here early-October. Is as consistent as they come and, entrusted to David Thomain, will not be far off the mark
13. LITTLE DAIDOU – Classy future prospect that was sanctioned on re-entry in a 2700m Graignes Class B a month back. Has other priorities and can be passed over
14. LOVE ME DO – Unseen since being sanctioned in a Gr.3 over course and distance late-August. Has freshness on his side and will have his chances if his driver assures his initial strides
Summary: A number of interesting elements here, but preference nevertheless goes to LORD DU BASSIN (4) who opened his Vincennes account late last month and who takes to the main track with a realistic chance of doubling his money. LORD DELO (8) is complicated at the best of times but with JMB back in the bike, can set the record straight. Arguably better racing clockwise, LE BILLET VERT (10) held his own here recently and, sporting pads for the first time, looks dangerous. Sanctioned more often than not, LOVE ME DO (14) makes his first appearance since August, but enjoys an excellent entry, and is good enough to win this, provided Christophe Martens manages to get him off on the right foot.

C3 – PRIX DE L’ILE D’OLERON – 2850m (a2m) – Gr3 Race – Mounted – EUR € 90,000 |
1. GIANT MESLOIS – Sanctioned on re-entry in a Class C over 2700m here last Friday. Is capable on a good day but others easier to trust
2. HALLIX – Good class of mare in this branch of the business. Hind shoes off, with Benjamin Rochard reining, and although not a priority this time, is still worth monitoring
3. JAZZ IN MONTREUX – 9th of 13, when preparing for this, in a 3000m Nantes harness Class B 8 days ago. Barefoot this time, has nothing to prove under these conditions, and will be no pushover if Nathalie Henry keeps him trotting
4. HALFA – Courageous 4th of 6 finishers in a 2850m Laval Class A on 1 October. Races barefoot this time and should not be entirely discounted
5. INOUI DANICA – Hardy sort that ran 3rd to GO OR NOT (7) in a 2450m Caen Class B 3.5 weeks ago. Steps marginally up in class but looks capable of picking up some prizemoney
6. GABIANO – Last of 11 in a harness Class C over course and distance on 18 October, and appears to have no possible chance
7. GO OR NOT – Convincing winner of a 2450m Caen Class B 3.5 weeks ago. Goes well for his young partner, and given the nature of his latest Vincennes performances, must not be overlooked
8. GRAAL DU TRESOR – Has not been seen out since coming 5th behind FILWELL (15) in 2875m Gr.2 Prix de Londres in August. Is 25m better off this time and, if sufficiently-fit, can get in on the action
9. GOOD GIRL MARCEAUX – Last of 14 when being conditioned in a 3000m Nantes Gr.3 last week. Goes particularly well for the day’s jockey and has a reasonable chance of making the frame
10. FIASCHETTO – Last but one to GRANIT MESLOIS (14) in a 2850m Vincennes Gr.3 on 11 October. 4 pads fitted but still not a player
11. GOLD VOICE – Brilliant winner, at 16/1, of a 2175m Class B here on 1 October. Put in a time of 1’10″6 that day and a similar performance, from the first line, would set the cat among the pigeons
12. FANATIC FLASH – Back under the saddle after finishing 8th of 11 in a 2300m Mons harness Gr.3 late last month and is not about to spring a surprise
13. EBERTON – Sanctioned in a harness Class D over course and distance 10 days ago. Has never shown any aptitude for the discipline and, even though reconfigured, is not about to start
14. GRANIT MESLOIS – Failed to confirm Gr.3 victory when sanctioned in a 2175m Gr.2 here on 4 November. Has excellent references over 2850m here, is a class above most and, with application, should have this in the bag
15. FILWELL – Makes first appearance since running 2nd of 9 to GRANIT MESLOIS (14) in a 2850m Vincennes Gr.3 on 11 October. Starts on 2nd line but still has the capacity to finish close
Summary: Winner of a Gr.3 over the inner track here early-October before faulting in the Gr.2 Prix Reynolds 10 days ago, GRANIT MESLOIS (14) is forced to start on the second line but can wrap this up if Victor Saussaye keeps him focused. Runner-up to him in the Gr.3, FILWELL (15) also incurs the penalty, but still looks the main threat. GOLD VOICE (11) sprang quite the surprise here last time and must be taken more seriously. Shod to preference after prepping under harness, GOOD GIRL MARCEAUX (9) is reunited with Alexandre Abrivard and looks competitively well-in.

2. KENDRICK – Starts for first time since running 2nd of 12 in a 2725m Pornichet Class E on 21 September. Trainer used a priority-card to get a run and must be considered a serious proposition
3. KILLER ZOFE – Serious type with better credentials racing clockwise, most recently 2nd of 12 in a 2750m Cabourg Class D mid-October, but can go home with a small slice of the pie if he turns
4. KART HAUFOR – 11th of 13 behind KOKA RIGHT (8), when prepping for this in a 2200m Caen Class D a month ago. Will have come on during the break and looks a leading contender
5. KILLER DE BEAULIEU – Last but one in a 2200m Class D here late last month. Numbers do little to inspire confidence but races barefoot with JMB in the bike this time
6. KITO TURGOT – Placed at Enghien under harness before trotting 2nd of 11 in a 2875m Argentan monté Class F early this month. Front shoes off but still faces a stiff test
7. KING D’HERMES – Last but one in a 2100m Class E here 10 days ago. Has bags of ability but needs another outing
8. KOKA RIGHT – Regularly in the mix but will need to show marked improvement on his last of 13 in a 2100m Class E here 10 days ago
9. KERGOMAR SIBEY – Steps back up in class after finishing 6th of 9 finishers in a 2850m claimer here on 29 October, and with shoes on will have nothing to contribute
10. KING SUN DRALIAM – 3rd of 12 in a 2875m Enghien Class D a month back. Plainly in shape, races barefoot for main-track debut, and appears competitively well-in
11. KASSOUMAYE – Last but one when preparing for this in a 2750m Cabourg Class D 3 weeks ago. Is proven here when barefoot and takes on his first objective of the new season with legitimate ambition
12. KANAK DU BOCAGE – Unexceptional trotter that was sanctioned, when unsupported, in a 2825m Class B at Le Croise-Laroche on 1 October, and is not about to shake things up
13. KAZAN DE VANDEL – Ran 3rd here in September before being pulled-up in a 2150m Enghien Class D on 17 October. Shod differently this time and should not be far from the action if he runs to his mark
14. KARMA TEJY – 7th of 13 in a 2750m Cabourg Class D 3 weeks ago. Hind shoes off for first time but, in this category, will struggle to make his mark
15. KADOR DU MONT – Has 2 races under his belt since the rest, latterly 8th of 11 in a 2700m Graignes Class B on 13 October. Has a lot going for him here and is not incapable of imposing
Summary: After having shown significant potential last winter, KART HAUFOR (4) has a pair of runs in him this term and, shod competitively, can open his main-track account. He will still meet resistance from the good KENDRICK (2) who has been afforded time to freshen up after having impressed at Pornichet, and the well-entered KADOR DU MONT (15) who races unshod-behind with Eric Raffin in the bike. Difficult to knock when barefoot and focused, KASSOUMAYE (11) has the wherewithal to finish in the mix.

C5 – PRIX DE THORIGNY – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 35,000 |
1. LESLIE DE VANDEL – 9th of 11, on re-entry, in a 2275m Nantes Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Is not devoid of talent, will have come on for the run, but others still preferred
2. LAURIANE DU RIED – Sanctioned early in a 2200m Class E here last week and is simply not up to the task at hand
3. LAGUNA SECA – Progressive filly that lost her maiden tag in a 2375m Challans Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Front pads fitted, takes on better this time, but with Mathieu Mottier drafted in for the occasion, is unlikely to be far from the action
4. L’APOLOGIE – Returns to racing with pads after running 5th of 9 in a 2800m Vire Class E on 27 October, but others still easier to back
5. LADIVA DE VILLABON – Pleasant 3rd of 11 in a 2400m Beaumont Class F, on first start back, on 1 October, but in this company will find the going a lot tougher
6. LISON DES GLENAN – Has not raced since winning a 2850m Laval Class F on 6 September. Comes here fresh though and will have a lot to offer if she takes to the main-track profile
7. LIGHT DE PADD – 5th of 11, on first start back, in a 2825m Chartres Class E 10 days ago. Has shown significant promise and although unlikely to win this, can nevertheless finish in the mix
8. LOVELY FACE – 7th of 11, on comeback, in a 2875m Enghien Class D on 17 October. Champion driver back at the helm and will be expected to give LADY HAUFOR (9) a run for her money
9. LADY HAUFOR – 9th of 11, on re-entry, in a 2200m Caen Class D on 20 October, and returns to racing left-handed with every chance of imposing
Summary: Winner of her first 2 before being given an easy re-introduction last month, LADY HAUFOR (9) makes her Vincennes debut with every chance of getting back in the winners’ enclosure. Similarly well-engaged at the limit of earnings, LOVELY FACE (8) sports front pads for the first time, will be reunited with Eric Raffin, and is unlikely to be a soft touch. Unraced since opening her account at Laval early-September, LISON DES GLENAN (6) steps up to a more competitive category but has earned the right to race here and should be competitive for a place in the frame.

C6 – COUPE DES AMATEURS (GR A) – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class F Amateur Drivers Race – Harness – EUR € 12,000 |
1. HORYVIL DES MOYEUX – Decent 4th of 10 in a 2825m Chartres amateurs Class G 10 days ago. Hind shoes off but, in this company, will have too much to do
2. HYMNE MERITE – Pleasantly-surprising 5th of 12 in a 2650m Saint-Malo amateurs Class G on 1 October, but a repeat seems most improbable
3. HEROINE DARCHE – Back under harness after finishing 9th of 11 in a 2825m Vire amateurs Class G last Sunday, but backs up with front shoes off, the excellent Kassandra Fresneau reining, and must be taken seriously
4. GAGA LADY BENACH – Unthreatening 5th of 13 in a 2625m Saint-Galmier amateurs Class F mid-October and can be confidently passed over
5. HOCCO DARCHE – Surprise winner at Vire 2.5 weeks ago before finishing 11th of 13 in a 2800m amateurs Class G at the same venue last Sunday. Is not devoid of talent and with front pads fitted, will have his supporters
6. GIRLY D’HUON – 4th of 10, at 91/1, in a 2725m Graignes Class F 12 days ago. Appears to be getting back in shape but still no more than a minor place prospect
7. HISTORIQUE ELDE – Back in the amateur division after finishing 7th of 10 in a 3000m Class E at Salon-de-Provence on 26 October. Has won numerous times at this level but current form is insufficient to convince
8. HATALANTE DE FLO – Flew up here before coming 4th of 12 in a 2650m Saint-Malo Class F on 1 October. Is reunited with Tuomo Kantela who won with her last month and will have her chances
9. HAMOUR DE SISSI – Sanctioned in a 2700m Graignes monté Class F early this month. Here for a change of scenery and poses no danger
10. HENRIETT D’AURCY – Made it 8 amateur successes when victorious in a 2725m Pornichet Class F 2 weeks ago. Appreciates the venue, goes well for Quentin Champenois, and has a reasonable chance of adding to her tally
11. ECRIN DU LAYON – Returns to racing with front shoes off after finishing 13th of 15 in a 2850m Laval amateurs Class G last Friday. Is plainly in decent shape though and can make first 5
12. HOPE – Sanctioned in last 2, latterly a 2750m Toulouse Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Has won twice this summer and can deliver again if Maud Goetz keeps him focused
13. FRANKLIN STAR – Imposed at Graignes before coming 5th of 15 in a 2850m Laval amateurs Class G last Friday. Thrives with his partner and looks thoroughly capable of challenging for the win this time
Summary: Nicely-engaged at the limit of earnings, both the complicated but talented HOPE (12), and the more dependable FRANKLIN STAR (13), will be expected to fight out the finish. That will not however rule out amateur specialist, HENRIETT D’AURCY (10) who has never failed to deliver here, and HATALANTE DE FLO (8) who imposed with ease under these conditions early last month.

C7 – COUPE DES AMATEURS (GR B) – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class F Amateur Drivers Race – Harness – EUR € 12,000 |
1. GYPSIE MAGIQUE – Surprising, and reassuring, 3rd of 12 in a 2650m Saint-Malo amateurs Class G early this month, but takes on too much this time
2. HEROS DE BANVILLE – Has previously won in this category but sanctioned in last 2, latterly a 2825m Class F at Le Croise-Laroche, and can be ruled out
3. GODZILLA VICI – Honest mare that finished a valiant 5th of 13 in a 2825m Chartres amateurs Class G 2.5 weeks ago, but is unlikely to confirm
4. IVRE DE TOI – Tricky mare that got back in the winners’ circle last Sunday, securing a 2825m Vire amateurs monté Class G last weekend, and with application can finish in the mix
5. HARLEY DU CHERISAY – Not totally at his ease when 6th of 12 in a 2400m Amiens amateurs Class G 2.5 weeks ago. Should take well to inner-track profile and will be expected to finish close this time
6. HENRIQUE – Capable on a good day but sanctioned in a 2900m Chateauroux Class F late-September, and cannot be considered a priority
7. HAMYOT DE BOMO – Yet to excel in the amateur division but came 3rd of 11 in a 2825m Chartres Class E mid-October and should not be underestimated
8. IRVING HEROLD – Makes first start since coming 2nd of 14 in an amateurs Class G over course and distance on 1 October. Comes here fresh, sporting modified shoeing, and can impose
9. IOUP LA BOUM – Last of 15 in a 3000m Nantes amateurs Class F last week. Front shoes off though and is not incapable of surprising
10. GRYFFONDOR DU POLI – 4th of 13 in a 2850m Parilly Class E on 22 September. Simply never disappoints in the amateur division and is not about to start. Chance
11. FLEURON DE NEUVY – 7th of 10 in a 2750m Toulouse Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Is confirmed at this level but latest amateur efforts only lacklustre
12. EQUALITY – 9th of 15 in a 2850m Laval amateurs Class G last week. In cracking form for past 4 months and, twice a winner for François Chapdelaine, can play a leading role
Summary: Excellent in all 3 of his recent starts here, IRVING HEROLD (8) sports 4 pads this time and with Pauline Prod’homme in the bike, can win this. She will still face opposition from GRYFFONDOR DU POLI (10) who drops back to the amateur division after a fine performance in the professional ranks at Parilly, and the well-entered, and padded, EQUALITY (12) who simply thrives at this level. HARLEY DU CHERISAY (5) is better than his recent Amiens performance would suggest, and is unlikely to disappoint this time.

C8 – PRIX DES HORTENSIAS – 2850m (a2m) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 33,000 |
1. MINETTE DU BOIS – 5th of 8 behind MAESTRIA GALAA (5) in a 2450m Caen Class D 3.5 weeks ago. Has ground to make up and others preferred
2. MARVINA BELLA – Pleasant on debut before being sanctioned in a 2150m Enghien Class C on 10 October. Pitted against a more-exalted bunch here and can be ignored
3. MOOREA DE CHANLECY – Put 2 sanctions behind her when 3rd of 9 in a 2050m Lyon-La Soie Class D early this month, but chances slim this time
4. MASTERCLASS D’EARL – Runner-up on debut before coming 4th of 7 finishers in a 2050m Cabourg Class E 3 weeks ago. Takes on a better lot this time but should still be good enough to hold her own
5. MAESTRIA GALAA – Unable to confirm her good debut when 7th of 9, behind MOLLY DU VALLON (14), in a 2200m Class D here a fortnight ago. Is better than that though and could pleasantly surprise on Vincennes debut
6. MADRID HAUFOR – Qualified superbly before easily winning a 2625m Cherbourg Class F on 1 October, first time out. In similar shape, can bring the fight to MAGIC AMERICA (7)
7. MAGIC AMERICA – Made short work of a 2275m Nantes Class F on debut late last month. Eric Raffin in the wagon again and is in with a realistic shout of repeating
8. MARALE SIBEY – Won smartly on debut at La Capelle before faulting when going well in a 2200m Class D here 2 weeks ago. Has significant potential and can play an active role if she keeps trotting
9. MOLLY WHITE – Has done nothing but improve since her debut, most recently 3rd of 8, a place behind MAESTRIA GALAA (5) in a 2450m Caen Class D 3.5 weeks ago, and will again be competitive for a place cheque
10. MANITAS DE TRUCHON – Moderate filly that was sanctioned in a 2400m Beaumont Class C on 1 October. Takes a hike in category and appears to have her work cut out
11. MANAMA D’ORLY – Reassuring 2nd of 10 in a 2400m Amiens Class E 2 weeks ago, but would be preferred a level down
12. MOUSKIE DE GUEZ – Good 2nd here mid-September before being sanctioned early in a 2200m Class D here on 31 October. On good behaviour though, will have a claim on a place in the frame
13. MERRY – 5th of 8 in a 2150m Enghien Class C 2.5 weeks ago. Has significant promise and with Benjamin Rochard reining, can start to get back in the game. First 5
14. MOLLY DU VALLON – 5th of 9 in a 2200m Class D here late last month. Has demonstrated good reliability but is still not easy to recommend
15. MISSY PERRINE – Has not raced since coming 3rd of 7 in a 2200m Class C here on 20 September, and is not about to set the world alight
Summary: Kept back a few months after qualifying in very good order, MAGIC AMERICA (7) got her career off to a flying start 2.5 weeks ago and has the class to confirm. Filly of a very similar profile, MADRID HAUFOR (6) will be reined by Damien Bonne this time and is equally capable of repeating. MARALE SIBEY (8) got off the mark at the first time of asking before being sanctioned here next time, but with stride in check, can make amends. MOUSKIE DE GUEZ (12) is clearly a capable sort and will have a lot to contribute if Romain Congard keeps her trotting.

1. LIBERTE CELESTE – Unremarkable in July qualification before faulting on debut in a 2775m Class F at Les Sables mid-August. Returns fresh but still not easy to like
2. LIASSE DU BAS BOSQ – Makes first appearance in the code after faulting in a 2800m Chartres Class F a month ago, and can expect to have few friends
3. LEXA DE LA CROIX – Would have finished 3rd of 6 in a 2875m Enghien Class D 2 weeks ago had she kept trotting. Faces a different test here and others preferred
4. LADY DES CHAMPS – Close 2nd of 8 finishers in a 2450m Caen Class E on 21 September. Has had ample time to recuperate and makes her Vincennes debut with legitimate aspiration. Chance
5. LEA DE FROULAY – Ran 3rd at Enghien before losing her action in a 2725m Pornichet Class D 2 weeks ago. Is not about to cause an upset but is good enough to make first 5
6. LOVELY JENILOU – Debuts in the discipline after running 6th of 11 in a 2100m harness Class E here late-October. Looks the sort that can do well in this code and must be respected
7. LYXIE KNIGHT – Pleased at Enghien early last month, on monté debut, before faulting in a 2750m Cabourg harness Class E 2 weeks ago. In better company this time and chances limited
8. LINDY LOU – Sanctioned in a 2200m Class C here on 21 August. Has not raced since but is better than most here and, with application, can impose
9. LHASSA QUICK – Faulted in a 2725m Pornichet Class D a fortnight ago. Should not be hastily-judged and, if focused, can play a dominant role
10. LUXELLA – Sanctioned in a 2875m Enghien Class D on 27 October. Not devoid of ability but still looks to have her work cut out
11. LAREINE D’OURVILLE – Got off the mark at Cabourg before just missing out on 3rd of 5 finishers in a 2700m Class E here 10 days ago. Unlikely to impose but can still fill a step on the podium
12. LA GUARDIA – Takes first competitive monté steps after coming 6th of 13 in a 2150m Enghien Class D a fortnight ago, but has not done enough under harness to be considered a player
Summary: It is more often a case of nothing than all for LINDY LOU (8) but she has nonetheless shown considerable promise and, fresh from a break, races shod for re-entry, and can start to put the record straight. LADY DES CHAMPS (4) has turned a corner since switching codes and is plainly close to her race. Even though sanctioned on her first start back, LHASSA QUICK (9) has demonstrated decent aptitude for the discipline and, if fit, will be competitive for a place on the podium. LAREINE D’OURVILLE (11) has taken terrifically to her new vocation and is not about to disappoint.
