R1 VINCENNES [L-H]

C1 – PRIX DE SILLE LE GUILLAUME – 2850m (a2m) – Class C Race – Harness – EUR € 68,000

  1. FERGIE HIGHLAND – Showed improvement when 5th of 15 in a 3125m Angers Class E 10 days ago but, on this occasion, will need to find more
  2. HOLLY D’ECHAL – Makes first appearance since being sanctioned in a 2650m Bordeaux Class E last March and will need the run
  3. FEELING BOY – 2nd of 16, on first start since the spell, in a 2875m Argentan Class A 2.5 weeks ago. Not always the most dependable but, if still in shape, can get a look-in
  4. HAITIAN FIGHT SONG – Back under harness after running 4th of 10 in a 2875m Enghien monté Class C on 27 October. Just 2nd start over 2850m here but is currently going good-guns and can challenge for a place in the frame
  5. HEMMA DE BRIKVIL – Made up for September sanction when 4th of 15 in a 2700m Class C here 3 weeks ago. Has previously won over 2850m here but represents more a minor place prospect this time
  6. HUDO DU RUEL – In the frame in last 2, latterly 2nd of 16 in a 2200m Caen Class B a month ago. Has good speed and with Eric Raffin in the bike, is unlikely to be far off the mark
  7. TOTO BAROSSO – 2nd of 6 over 3100m at Wolvega 2 weeks ago. Failed to deliver in last 5 here though and others easier to back
  8. HEADSCOTT – Valiant 3rd of 10 in a Class C over course and distance on 11 October. Has been knocking at the door over recent months and has a realistic chance of imposing this time
  9. FOLLOW ME FLASH – Better than his 9th of 15 in a 2700m Class C here 3 weeks ago would suggest. Won over there summer under these conditions and will legitimately generate interest
  10. ELIXIR DE CRENNES – Pleasantly-surprising 6th of 14 in a 3000m Nantes Gr.3 a fortnight ago. Plainly in form but has little love for Vincennes and is unlikely to shake things up
  11. HARIBO DU LOISIR – Modest element returning to the harness code after finishing last of 8 in a 2700m monté Class C here a fortnight ago, and can be confidently ruled out
  12. HUBBLE DU VIVIER – Back under harness, with Mathieu Mottier reining, after coming 4th of 10 in a 2875m Enghien monté Class C late last month. Just the once seen over this trip but in current form is very easy to like
  13. HORATIUS D’ELA – Sent off favourite but sanctioned early in 3000m Nantes Gr.3 a fortnight ago. Has buckets of ability and can open his winter account if Benjamin Rochard keeps him in stride
  14. HELLO SPORT – Won a monte Class C here a fortnight ago only to lose it in stewards room. Not the easiest of horses to gauge but, if form transitions, can pick up a cheque
  15. FLUO MESLOIS – 5th of 8 in a 2700m monté Class C here a fortnight ago and, reconfigured, is not about to set the cat among the pigeons
  16. GIMS DU PLESSIS – Serious trotter making just 2nd start since the spell, latterly 12th of 14 in a 3000m Nantes Gr.3 earlier in the month. Stays shod and best to wait
Summary: A competitive affair with a number in contention here, preference nonetheless goes to the reconfigured HEADSCOTT (8) who left a good impression in a similar event here early last month. HUBBLE DU VIVIER (12) didn’t finish far behind that day and should again have a say in the outcome, but may first have to defer to the complicated but eminently capable HORATIUS D’ELA (13) who will be dangerous if focused, and a reinvigorated HAITIAN FIGHT SONG (4) who is clearly close to her race.

    C2 – PRIX URGENT – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Gr3 Race – Mounted – EUR € 80,000
  17. LAFOLLY DELO – Flattering 5th of 9 finishers in a a Class B over course and distance last week. Useful under the saddle but in this category will struggle to make her mark
  18. LEON DU CLOS – Quality element that finished last of 9 in a Class B over course and distance last week, but appears to need another run
  19. LABEL DE TILLARD – Sanctioned on return from a spell in a Class B over course and distance 9 days ago. Has twice won over course and distance but chances appear limited this time
  20. LOTUS ZEN – 5th to LIONHEART (9) in a Vincennes Class A before coming 4th of 8 in a 2825m harness Class A at Le Croise-Laroche 12 days ago. Is not devoid of ability but still has more to find
  21. LOCHAN – Ran 4th of 10 finishers in 2450m Gr.1 Saint-Léger des Trotteurs at Caen on 12 October. Makes just 2nd appearance over the main track but is a thorough professional, is in form, and will be competitive for a place on the podium
  22. LIBERTINE DJOB – 9th of 11 to LOOPING DAY (11) in 2700m Gr.2 Prix Louis Tillaye over course and distance 3 weeks ago. Is proven at a superior level but would be preferred with 4 pads fitted
  23. LUCAS – Defied his odds in Gr.2 Prix de Basly before running 6th of 10 in a 2800m Rambouillet harness Class B conditioner early-October. 4 pads fitted for the occasion and, although not a priority, should not be ignored
  24. LE VOYOU D’ALMO – 8th of 11 to LOOPING DAY (11) in 2700m Gr.2 Prix Louis Tillaye over course and distance 3 weeks ago. Front pads fitted this time and the change of jockey could make all the difference. First 5
  25. LIONHEART – Made it 4 in a row when dominating a harness Gr.3 over course and distance a fortnight ago. In good company here but is undefeated with Eric Raffin and looks main threat to LOOPING DAY (11)
  26. LEARN TO FLY – Facile winner of a 2850m Mauquenchy harness Class A last week. Has shown considerable aptitude for the code and, with application, is unlikely to disappoint
  27. LOOPING DAY – Opened his monté account in style, at first time of asking, in 2700m Gr.2 Prix Louis Tillaye over course and distance 3 weeks ago. Returns to the code with morale at a high and can leave in similar humour
  28. LOVISSIME – 3rd of 10 finishers in 2450m Gr.1 Saint-Léger des Trotteurs at Caen on 12 October. Has won 2 of 3 under these conditions and, if still firing on all cylinders, can contest the finish
Summary: Terrific winner of the Gr.2 Prix Louis Tillaye here 3 weeks ago, on his first public start under the saddle, LOOPING DAY (11) looks more than capable of doubling up. He will nevertheless be pitted against some good elements, notably the reconfigured LIONHEART (9) who boasts a 100% win-rate in the discipline, and LOVISSIME (12) who put on an excellent show in the Gr.1 Saint-Léger des Trotteurs last time out. A place behind her that day, LOCHAN (5) has significant untapped potential and will be no easy touch.

    C3 – PRIX DE VALENCE-SUR-BAISE – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 35,000
  29. LYUBOV – Encouraged at Alencon before finishing 8th of 12 to LIPSKA (10) in a 2700m Graignes Class F 10 days ago, and can expect to have few takers
  30. LA BELLE FLAC – Has not been seen out since faulting in a 2700m Cagnes Class D in early-August, and others easier to trust
  31. LADY BECO – Starts for first time since coming 5th of 12 in a 2450m Caen Class E 2 months ago. Returns to racing shod and will be expected to need the run
  32. LUCRECE HAUFOR – Lost her action, on first start back, in a 2350m Angers Class E a month ago. Nevertheless showed her form that day and, with pads fitted this time, can make amends and finish close
  33. LA VISTA HAUFOR – Sanctioned in both since the spell, latterly a 2700m Graignes Class F on 2 November. Competitively-shod this time and, with application, can make a big splash
  34. LERMINE D’OLIVERIE – 8th of 9 finishers in a 2700m Graignes Class F early this month. Both fitted with pads and entrusted to Alexandre Abrivard for the first time, and could well finish in the mix
  35. LILAS D’ECHAL – 5th of 11 in a 2275m Nantes Class E on 27 October and looks to have too much to do on Vincennes debut
  36. LAYLA SONIA – Tricky character that ran a one-paced 6th of 10 in a 2400m Amiens Class F last week, and has little chance of improving on that
  37. L’ETOILE D’ETE – Makes Vincennes debut on a hat-trick, most recently winning a 2400m Chateaubriant Class F with ease 10 days ago. Excels with her driver and will be expected to contest the finish
  38. LIPSKA – Made it 2 in a row when dominating a 2700m Graignes Class F 10 days ago. Faces a stiffer test this time but looks eminently up to the task and can pull off the hat-trick
  39. L’ORANGE – Quality filly that was quickly sanctioned in a 2100m Class E here 3 weeks ago. Has bags of ability though and can get back in the game if Théo Duvaldestin assures her initial strides
  40. LEGENDE DU LOISIR – Sanctioned in 4 of last 5, latterly a 2550m Reims Class E a week ago. Is not devoid of ability but must first re-establish her credentials
  41. LOLLIPOP THE BEST – Lost her maiden status in a 2625m Paray-le-Monial Class F on 10 November. 4 pads fitted, with Matthieu Abrivard reining this time but, in this category, is unlikely to shake things up
Summary: Winner of her last two without having to be asked for more, LIPSKA (10) races with front pads for the first time and can expect the lion’s share of support. Yoann Lebourgeois will still be keeping a keen eye on L’ETOILE D’ETE (9) who is unbeaten in 2 starts with Eric Raffin reining, and the promising but tricky LA VISTA HAUFOR (5) who has been fitted with pads for the first time. Similarly-padded, stablemate LUCRECE HAUFOR (4) should logically make up for her recent sanction.

    C4 – PRIX DE BEAUVOIR – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 35,000
  42. KILLER DE BEAULIEU – 3rd of 12 in a 2850m Class E here last week, when entrusted to JMB. Has the inside line but must still be considered a contender
  43. KOOL LUDOIS – Showed improvement when 3rd of 9 in a 2850m claimer here on 29 October, but in this company will have limited prospects
  44. KONAN JERSEY – Has 2 runs in him since the break, latterly 7th of 12 in a 2700m Class D here a fortnight ago. The stars have aligned for him here and Benjamin Rochard will be eager to make hay
  45. KANAK DU BOCAGE – Returns to racing with front pads fitted after finishing last but one behind KILLER DE BEAULIEU (1) in a 2850m Class E here last week, and is not about to influence the outcome
  46. KAZAN DE VANDEL – Not disgraced when 8th of 12, behind KILLER DE BEAULIEU (1), in a 2850m Class E here last week. Is unlikely to cause an upset but has been handed a good draw, will be barefoot for the occasion, and is reunited with Eric Raffin
  47. KING TURGOT – Unable to confirm Enghien success when sanctioned in a Class E under these conditions 2.5 weeks ago. Never easy to gauge but is well-positioned behind the car and must not be underestimated
  48. KEFIR COHIAIS – Has twice failed to confirm La Capelle success, most recently 6th of 13 behind KNOX JENILOU (9) in a Class E over course and distance 2.5 weeks ago. Shoes on and others easier to back
  49. KOUROUX – Defied his 88/1 to run 3rd of 13 in a 2200m Class D here late last month. Thrives with Yoann Lebourgeois and, despite the wide draw, still looks competitively well-in
  50. KNOX JENILOU – Never far from faulting but reassuring 4th of 13 in a Class E over course and distance 2.5 weeks ago. Badly-positioned once more but the Alexandre Abrivard-factor can make all the difference. Chance
  51. KITO TURGOT – Sanctioned in a 2850m Class E here a week ago. Will prefer the mobile start but in this category will struggle to make his mark
  52. KOOPER – 3rd of 11 in a 2200m Class E here last week. Won over the distance on the inner course last winter and will have a lot to offer if David Thomain successfully negotiates the start
  53. KOWEIT DE CHENU – Last of 15, when preparing for this, in a 3000m Nantes Class B a fortnight ago. Should not be inconvenienced by the draw, is shod to preference, and warrants respect
Summary: Just €200 from elimination and ideally-positioned behind the car, KONAN JERSEY (3) sports a new configuration for the occasion and most certainly has the wherewithal to win this. Barefoot this time, with Alexandre Abrivard reining, KNOX JENILOU (9) has pulled a tough number but still looks dangerous. Not ideally-placed either, but clearly in form, KOUROUX (8) makes his main-track debut with Yoann Lebourgeois in the bike, and will have his chances. Yet to disappoint in the day’s configuration, KOOPER (11) will have some work to do but his recent performance bodes well for his prospects.

    C5 – PRIX DE LA CAMARGUE – 2850m (a2m) – Class C Race – Harness – EUR € 53,000
  54. BOTTNAS IDOL – Makes French debut after coming 6th of 11 over 2609m in Orebro a month back. Won 2 prior to that though and can get a look-in if he takes to the new profile
  55. INDIEN DE FONTAINE – Sanctioned when heavily-backed in a 2725m Graignes Class E last week. Is clearly capable but even racing barefoot, appears to be taking on too much
  56. IVOIRE PRESTANCE – Ran 3rd at Mons before coming a surprise 4th of 15, behind INSTRUCTOR (12), in a 2100m Class C here late last month. Sports front pads this time, with Matthieu Abrivard back in the bike, but others still preferred
  57. IGO CLEA – 13th of 15, when being conditioned, in a 3125m Angers Class E 10 days ago. Shod to preference this time but would be preferred in the other code
  58. ISLAND LOVE – Made short work of a Class D over course and distance on 5 November. Unlikely to repeat but, with hind shoes off again, is unlikely to be far off the mark
  59. COBRA KILLER GAR – Went into his break on a high note and picked up where he left off, dominating a 2625m Cherbourg Class E on 25 September. Comes here fresh and chances of a 6-timer seem high
  60. IMPERIAL MABON – 10th of 11, on return to competition, in a 2100m Class C here late last month. Still in conditioning-mode though and best to hold off
  61. INTELLO DE CHENU – Tricky but capable trotter making first appearance since being sanctioned in a 2625m Class E at La Rochelle last May. Goes first-time barefoot and, with application, will have a part to play
  62. CARLOFORTE FONT – Quality individual that ran 3rd of 15, a place behind INSTRUCTOR (12), in a 2100m Class C here late last month. Won his only start under these conditions and must be taken seriously
  63. IXORA – Imposed at Cabourg before being quickly sanctioned in a Class A under these conditions 3 weeks ago. Boasts excellent course-and-distance credentials though and should not be written off
  64. IMOKO JIBELAU – Did not enjoy the best of trips when 4th of 10 in a 2600m Gr.3 at La Rochelle 12 days ago. Takes a dip in category and the engagement of Jean-Michel Bazire will only work in his favour. First 5
  65. INSTRUCTOR – 2nd of 15, at 24/1, in a 2100m Class C here late last month. Appears to be back on the right track and has a reasonable chance of winning his first race since July 2022
  66. IRINA DE BAILLY – Sanctioned early in a Class D over course and distance 12 days ago. Has looked ordinary for some time and will have nothing to offer
  67. IACYNTHE DIDJEAP – 2nd of 13 in a 2450m Caen Class C on 12 October. Has been lurking for some time and seldom disappoints with Benjamin Rochard. Place chance
Summary: Simply remarkable since returning to racing barefoot, COBRA KILLER GAR (6) may not have been seen out for almost 2 months but he nonetheless has the class to continue his winning spree. Capable of putting an end to it though is INSTRUCTOR (12) who came close to imposing here late last month. A place behind him that day, the ever-consistent CARLOFORTE FONT (9) should again figure prominently, however he may first have to see off the terrifically-engaged IACYNTHE DIDJEAP (14) who is clearly close to his race.

    C6 – PRIX DE L’ILE DE RE – 2850m (a2m) – Class B Race – Mounted – EUR € 75,000
  68. IVANOF – Back in the code after being sanctioned in a 2850m Laval harness Class E last Saturday. Seldom lets the side down in this code but even with Eric Raffin in the irons, still looks to have his work cut out
  69. IMAGINE D’ATOUT – Failed to pull off the 5-timer when 2nd of 10 in a 2625m Agen Class D on 23 October. Yet to deliver over 2850m here but, in present shape, is very easy to recommend
  70. DOWHATYOUDODOWELL – Sanctioned in a 2875m Enghien Class C 3.5 weeks ago. Is clearly in form but will still struggle to make his presence felt
  71. GAZELLE DE VAL – 4th of 15 in a 2850m Laval harness Class A on 1 November. Unbeaten in 4 monté starts and is in with a realistic shout of keeping that statistic intact
  72. IMPALA DE VAL – Imposed under the saddle at Caen before coming excellent 3rd of 11 in a 2700m harness Class A 3 weeks ago. Is confirmed under these conditions and will be expected to give GAZELLE DE VAL (4) a run for her money
  73. HERE I GO AGAIN – Comfortable winner of a 3000m Nantes Class D on 6 November. Not once out of first 5 in 12 main-track starts and, barefoot this time, can again finish in the mix
  74. GALA D’URFIST – Last but one in a 3000m Nantes harness Gr.3 conditioner a fortnight ago. Goes over any trip and has a realistic chance of making the frame once more
  75. EXTREME DESBOIS – 4th of 7 in 2175m Gr.2 Prix Reynolds here 2.5 weeks ago. Forced to travel an extra 25m this time but still has the capacity to play a prominent part at the business end of the race
  76. FAKIR DE L’ECLUSE – Last of 13 in a Class D over course and distance 2.5 weeks ago, on first start for 10 months. Goes barefoot this time but others still preferred
  77. INES DES RIOULTS – 6th in Gr.3 Prix Gordonia before running 5th of 7, a place behind EXTREME DESBOIS (8), in 2175m Gr.2 Prix Reynolds here 2.5 weeks ago. On back line and is not about to spring any surprises
Summary: Three weeks after putting on a good show under harness, GAZELLE DE VAL (4) returns to the code in which she has yet to be defeated, and if she manages to hold off the in-form and reconfigured IMPALA DE VAL (5), she will have the race at her mercy. Others capable of stirring things up include back-row starters, EXTREME DESBOIS (8) who won over 2850m here during the summer, and the tough GALA D’URFIST (7) who is shod to preference for his return to the discipline.

    C7 – PRIX DE MONTELIMAR – 2850m (a2m) – Class C Race – Harness – EUR € 46,000
  78. KHALEESI SMART – Respectable 4th to KELLY JANE (5) in a 2700m Class D here 3 weeks ago. Shoes back on though and no more than a minor place prospect this time
  79. KIKA JOSSELYN – Fine servant that ran 6th of 15 in a 2750m Class B conditioner at Les Sables a month ago. Yet to be bested here, has won 4 from 5 for Benjamin Rochard, and must be taken very seriously
  80. KINGA SUPREME – Makes first appearance since finishing last of 9 in a 2700m Class B here 2 months ago. Is not devoid of talent, and sports modified shoeing, but must first get her house in order
  81. KEY LADY – 10th of 15, behind KISS ME DE NAVARY (10), in a 2825m Class B at Le Croise-Laroche 3 weeks ago, on first start since April. Won last 2 when barefoot but is being asked to do too much this time
  82. KELLY JANE – Tenacious winner of a 2700m Class D here 3 weeks ago. Goes barefoot again and even though stepping up in category, is not out of the running
  83. KATE MESLOISE – Last but one in a 2800m Vire Class B late last month. Seldom disappoints here when focused but others easier to back this time
  84. KOSANOSTRA – Good 3rd at Meslay before being sanctioned, when full of running, in a 2750m Class B at Les Sables-d’Olonne a month ago. Franck Nivard at the helm this time and will have his chances if he can keep her trotting
  85. KIVALA RENARDIER – Showed she was getting back into condition when 5th of 15 in a 3000m Nantes Class B a fortnight ago. Failed to deliver on only start under these conditions but still looks capable of playing a leading role
  86. KRACKMANIA – Handy sort that ran 8th of 15, behind KIVALA RENARDIER (8), in a 3000m Nantes Class B conditioner a fortnight ago. Barefoot this time and, while not a priority, will have her supporters
  87. KISS ME DE NAVARY – Good, consistent filly that ran 4th of 15 in a 2825m Class B at Le Croise-Laroche 3 weeks ago. Unlikely to get her nose in front but in current condition is easy to recommend for a spot in first 5
  88. KANAKA DE BUSSET – 13th of 15, behind KIVALA RENARDIER (8), in a 3000m Nantes Class B a fortnight ago. Shoes off this time but chances limited nevertheless
  89. KAVALA DE PADD – Sanctioned, on just 2nd start back, in a 2800m Vire Class B late last month. Is a tough nut with front pads fitted, has references over the distance here, and must be worth retaining
  90. KISS ME HONEY – Complicated but talented sort that finished last but one in a 2700m Class B conditioner here earlier this month. Has talent to burn and, if focused, can begin to set the record straight
Summary: Justifiably well-regarded at home, the complicated, but nicely-entered, KISS ME HONEY (13) races barefoot for her first objective of the winter meeting and, if applied, can impose. She will however be up against the somewhat more composed KOSANOSTRA (7) who showed her form at Les Sables despite falling foul of the stewards, and 6th that day, KIKA JOSSELYN (2) who sports a new configuration in a bid to keep her unbeaten Vincennes run intact. Hard to fault over the main track, KIVALA RENARDIER (8) will be fit by now and is reunited with Eric Raffin.

    C8 – PRIX DE PICARDIE – 2850m (a2m) – Class A Race – Harness – EUR € 62,000
  91. EMPIRE AS – 2nd over course and distance before the summer break. Starts for first time since faulting in a 2175m Class C here 2 months ago and is plainly in conditioning-mode this time
  92. KIKI AND CO – Won over 2700m here before finishing 13th of 15 in a 2850m Laval Class B 3 weeks ago. Remains shod and can be ruled out
  93. ERICA JET – Returns to racing barefoot after finishing last but one in a Gr.2 over 2100m here earlier in the month, but seems out of sorts and will first need to reaffirm
  94. ERNESTO ROC – Sanctioned in last 2, most recently a Class C over 2100m here late-October. Is not without merit though and the engagement of Benjamin Rochard can pay off
  95. EVERY TIME WINNER – Made it 4 on the trot when easy winner of a Class D over 2100m here on 29 September. Comes here fresh and even though stepping up in category, must be respected
  96. RIKITA JP – Has not been seen out since being sanctioned in a 2875m Enghien Class A mid-June. Sports modified shoeing but is unlikely to influence the result
  97. KOKOTE – Put in a fine finish to come 3rd of 12 in a 2700m Class B here 12 days ago. Trainer back in the bike and will not be sent out at 30/1 this time. Chance
  98. JAZZMAN (GER) – 8th of 12, on first start for 3 months, in a 2100m Gr.2 here on 9 November. Caught the eye that day and, competitively-shod this time, will be no pushover
  99. KOBAYASHI – 10th of 15, when preparing for this, in a 3000m Nantes Class B 2 weeks ago. Has significant ability and is not one to be underestimated
  100. EDGAR SABA – Serious sort making first start since running 3rd of 9 in a 2875m Enghien Gr.3 in August. Has never disappointed when barefoot and should be thereabouts at the finish
  101. KAPORAL DES FORGES – Failed to make his mark when last of 8 in a 2100m Gr.1 here on 11 October. Ran 2nd here on penultimate start though and, similarly-shod, should not be far from the action
  102. KAVIARISSIME – Sanctioned when full of running in a 2100m Gr.1 here on 11 October. Has nothing to prove at this level and, if still on the boil, can wrap this up
  103. KALMIA QUICK – Last of 9, on return from a spell, in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class A last week. Unconvincing that day and may need another outing
  104. KOOL DES CHAMPS – Nicely-engaged here but will need to improve on last week’s 5th of 9 in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class A
Summary: Very unlucky in the Gr.1 Grand Prix de l’U.E.T., KAVIARISSIME (12) drops down the class-ladder in search of a morale-booster and should be able to win this if François Lagadeuc keeps him out go trouble. That being said, the classy German, JAZZMAN (GER) (8), has a race under his belt, runs unshod-behind for the first time, and is unlikely to go down easily. KOKOTE (7) left quite the impression here earlier in the month and, sporting a new configuration, is not incapable of outshining her stablemate. KOBAYASHI (9) has been afforded ample time to prepare for this, is shod as he was for the Prix Ourasi, and with application, could pleasantly surprise.

C1 – PRIX DE BALIVERE – 3200m (a2m) – ALL WEATHER – Handicap – Flat – EUR € 25,000

  1. SPINELLO – Unplaced in back-to-back recent outings with cheekpieces fitted, the latest (6th) over 2500m on PSF at Deauville on 8 November. Could atone with the headgear removed and Alexis Pouching aboard off a 1kg lower mark
  2. FREEZE – Progressive last-start winner of a 2400m Clairefontaine handicap on 22 October. Has no references on PSF or over this distance but should remain competitive off a 2,5kg higher mark
  3. HEAREN – Experienced filly with no references over this distance or on PSF. Unplaced (9th) in a Fontainebleau handicap over 2200m on 8 October – headgear worn that day dispensed with
  4. COSMIC FRONT – Improving, lightly raced filly with a future in the handicap category. Finished a career-best 3rd on heavy ground at Nantes over 2400m on 1 November
  5. LUMINESCE – A 10-start maiden regaining momentum dropped in the weights/ratings. Finished 5th in a 2600m Fontainebleau claimer on 4 November
  6. AMARENA DODVILLE – Consistent filly with sound references, albeit without success (9-start maiden). Didn’t go unnoticed when finishing 5th over course and distance on 28 October
  7. DSCHINGIS GOLD – Unexposed in the handicap category and has shown his form/well-being recently in conditions races over 3200m at Le Mans off his current mark, the latest (4th) on 2 November. Respected under Mickaël Barzalona
Summary: SPINELLO (1) will appreciate this extended distance and, from stall No 1 with Alexis Puchin aboard, he should set the record straight. Last-start winner FREEZE (2) remains competitive under a penalty and ought to continue his momentum by challenging the selection for race honours. COSMIC FRONT (4) and DSCHINGIS GOLD (7), newcomers to the handicap category, shouldn’t be underestimated.

  8. SAFWAN – Won a course-and-distance handicap on 3 October – beat subsequent winner THE WHITE LADY (2) who reopposes on 1kg better terms
  9. THE WHITE LADY – Has won and finished 2nd in 2 course-and-distance appearances. Showed her form and well-being by winning on PSF at Deauville over 1900m on 23 October and is the horse to beat
  10. MIWA – Improved in 2 appearances over 1800m with headgear fitted. Confirmed the form of her Clairefontaine comeback win with a good 2nd over 1800m on turf at this venue on 17 October – makes her handicap/PSF debut
  11. FULL OF HOPE – Handicap newcomer with no references on PSF either. FInished 7th in a 2400m Listed race at Lyon-Parilly earlier this month (8 November). Others preferred
  12. CALYPSO KING – Soundly beaten in 2 handicap appearances, both in Quinte+ races – the latest (15th) over 1400m on this course in his first PSF outing on 28 October. Best watched for now
  13. FANG MICH – Runner-up over course and distance on 29 October in her first start on this surface. Makes her handicap debut with legitimate ambitions
Summary: THE WHITE LADY (2) wasn’t winning out of turn at Deauville last month and that confidence-boosting victory stands her in good stead here. She boasts a good record on this track and is taken to get the better of improving MIWA (3) who has benefitted from the addition of headgear. Last-start scorer SAFWAN (1) is worse at the weights with the selection but remains competitive for the leading positions despite carrying a penalty. FANG MICH (6) finished 2nd recently in a Class 1 so isn’t without a chance either.

  14. MILLIONAIRE – Soundly beaten (10th) when last seen on French soil at Strasbourg in September and unplaced in 2 subsequent starts, the latest (7th) at Hanovre in Germany on 27 October over 2000m
  15. KAPANI – Versatile hard-knocking handicapper with sound references/form credentials on both surfaces, including a recent 4th in a 2800m Quinte+ on turf at Vichy on 18 July. Respected on his reappearance
  16. THE GOOD MAN – Honest performer on a competitive mark – confirmed as much with an encouraging 2nd at Fontainebleau over 3000m on 8 October. Should have a role to play
  17. ALWAYS WELCOME – Rarely seen on PSF but but has sound references on this surface. Bounced back to form with a reassuring 4th over 2400m at Toulouse on 23 October
  18. ZULU WARRIOR – Consistent performer with references at a higher level, albeit on turf – including a good 3rd over 2300m at Le Mans on 16 October. Has no references on PSF but will appreciate this extended distance so warrants serious respect
  19. FENELON – Sparingly raced 6-year-old gelding but boasts the best form references/credentials in this field. Returned from an extended 14-month absence when finishing 9th on PSF over 1900m at Deauville on 3 November – better expected
  20. WURFGEIST – Course-and-distance winner of his only start on this surface but that was almost a year ago to the day, albeit only 2 starts back. Finished 14th in a 2400m Quinte+ turf handicap at this venue on 4 April and hasn’t been seen since
  21. AFF UN ZO – Consistent performer in Germany but finished unplaced (8th) on French soil at Le Mans over 2300m on 16 October
  22. GARBO – Regaining momentum after 2 comeback appearances following a lengthy 7-month absence. Didn’t go unnoticed when finishing 5th on turf at this venue on heavy ground over 1600m on 26 October
Summary: FENELON (6) would’ve needed his comeback outing at Deauville and, with the benefit of that run under his belt, ideally engaged here to reconnect with success. However, he has to thwart the likely challenge of ZULU WARRIOR (5) who will appreciate this distance and play a leading role. THE GOOD MAN (3) lacks references on this surface but has shown enough to make his presence felt at the finish. ALWAYS WELCOME (4) and KAPANI (2) appeal most of the remainder.

  23. WICKBURY – Sparingly raced but caught the eye when finishing 4th over 1650m at Machecoul on 11 November after a 2-month break. Confirmation is expected on her handicap and PSF debut
  24. HEY VINCE – Has failed to confirm the promise of his debut 5th (at this venue on turf over 1100m on 2 June) in two subsequent starts, 10th in both – the latest over 1300m on PSF at Deauville on 2 November. Should fare better in handicaps
  25. LA FLAMINIA – Unplaced in all 3 appearances, the latest (8th) over 1200m on turf at Deauville on 30 July. Open to improvement on her reappearance and handicap debut
  26. FISFUL OF LOVE – Soundly beaten in 3 consecutive handicap appearances, the latest (11th) over 1200m on turf at Fontainebleau on 14 November. Others preferred
  27. MISTRA RIVER – Lightly raced filly with scope for further progress after finishing a career-best 5th over 1400m on heavy ground at Haras du Pin on 27 October. Switch to this surface and the handicap category holds no fears
  28. BAY DE LARMOR – Unplaced in 3 starts, the latest (9th) over 1700m at Saint-Brieuc on 27 October. Has scope to improve and may do better in handicaps
  29. INHEBHAA – Well-beaten 8th of 9 in a Group I event on Arc day and finished unplaced (8th again) at Clairefontaine over 1600m on 22 October. Could fare better in handicaps and remains open to improvement
  30. LARMES D’OR – Improving with each outing and didn’t go unnoticed when finishing 6th in a 1500m PSF claimer at Deauville in her first start on this surface earlier this month (9 November). Candidate for success
  31. SIGNORIA PIAZZA – Experienced 11-start maiden on a career-low mark. Unplaced in back-to-back recent handicap appearances (9th on both occasions), the latest over 2000m at Lyon-Parilly on 8 November. Not taken lightly on PSF over this trip
  32. AUDELADESETOILES – Soundly beaten in back-to-back recent outings on turf over longer distances, the latest (10th) at Strasbourg over 2000m on 11 November. Will appreciate this shorter trip and return to this surface
  33. FUJI HANA – Inconsistent at a lower level – failed to confirm the form/improvement of her previous start (3rd) in a claimer over 1800m at Lyon-La Soie when only 12th in a similar contest at that venue on 25 October. Makes handicap debut
  34. ALLABARA – Handicap newcomer with references in maiden and claiming races, including a last-start 5th in a 1600m Lignières claimer in 1 November
Summary: Hard race to assess. Maturing MISTRA RIVER (5) posted a career-best at Haras du Pin last time and should go well on her handicap and PSF debut if confirming that progress. LARMES D’OR (8) didn’t go unnoticed, despite finishing unplaced, in a PSF claimer at Deauville earlier this month and, with improvement expected, she should be a factor in the outcome. Perrine Cheyer’s weight allowance should aid the chances of WICKBURY (1) who caught the eye at Machecoul 10 days ago, so she is another with legitimate ambitions on her handicap/PSF debut. SIGNORIA PIAZZA (9) has more experience than most of her rivals and should stand her in good stead.

  47. GOT PLAY – Ran a fair race in 3rd spot over track/trip in a handicap on the 29th of October 2024. Will be competitve
Summary: AVENTINO (8) slots in with a nice galloping weight and looks set to run his best race to date. BELLA INDIA (2) started off her career on the right note but has been disappointing at her last two outings. If she puts her best foot forward, she could well win this. STAR OF LIGHT (10) ran a better race last time out and with improvement on the cards, she should be competitve. GOT PLAY (13) isn’t the most reliable but has produced a couple of good efforts which should see him in the mix.

Summary: HAPPY AGAIN (1) arrives in solid form and has done well this calendar year. He was a winner two starts back and can add another win to his tally. BAYLINER (2) remains a maiden but is seldom far off the action and should be involved at the finish. RED IN SIGHT (3) showed up much better last time out and could be ideally placed in this contest. SI CAPO SI (6) finished behind our pick last time out but finds himself 2.5kgs better off at the weights which could see him getting closer if not winning.

Summary: RIYABOVKA (8) produced her career best effort last time out and can continue improving which will see her right in the thick of things. IMEDARA (11) has found form after a slow start to her career and she should run a huge race. BAILEYS ILLUSION (9) wasn’t beaten far last time out and a repeat performance should see her going well. Summary: BAGGALA (6) finished behind a couple reopposing sorts last time out but with a bit more luck in running, she could turn the form around despite meeting them on the same weight terms. HANTANO (13) continues to threaten for that maiden victory and should be bang there at the finish. IGNOL (4) is seldom far off the action and is capable of making his presence felt in a race of this nature.
