C1 – PRIX MELUSINA – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 46,000

  1. IDEFIX D’OLMEN – 4th of 12 in a 2100m claimer over the other course here 10 days ago. Races barefoot but steps up in category and is being asked to do too much
  2. FREEDOM (NOR) – Pleased at Reims before finishing 9th of 13, behind OBLIVION (13), in a Class C over course and distance 2 weeks ago. Is clearly capable, races barefoot, and enjoys a decent spot in front, but others still preferred
  3. IRIS INTENSE – 11th of 15 in a 2850m Maure Class F earlier in the month. Reverts to a previous configuration, is reunited with David Thomain who drove him to victory here last March, and the draw will do him no disservice
  4. I LOVE YOU TEK – Ran 3rd of 15 to INVICTUS DU DOLLAR (8) in a Class E over track and trip last week, only to be sanctioned. Has nothing to prove under these conditions and is not incapable of setting the cat among the pigeons
  5. MISTER INVICTUS – Won under harness at Cabourg before suffering interference [subsequently sanctioned] in a 2175m monté Class D here 12 days ago. Is plainly in cracking form and can bring the fight to INVICTUS DU DOLLAR (8)
  6. ILIANO DES PLAINES – 2nd of 13 in a 2625m Class F at Paray-le-Monial on 10 November. Placed on lone start at the venue but, in this company, will have his work cut out
  7. IDEFIX DHELPA – 5th of 13 in a 3300m Chartres Class F on 17 November. Dependable type but would have better prospects a level down
  8. INVICTUS DU DOLLAR – Remarkable campaigner that made short work of a Class E over track and trip last week. Has never been bested when barefoot and is not about to disappoint. Claim
  9. IMHOTEP FROMENTRO – Was preparing for this when 9th of 16 in a 2850m Class D here on 5 November. Has a lot going for him and will be no easy touch if his driver successfully navigates the start
  10. ONE LOVE BIANCA – Dependable sort returning to France after running 3rd of 10 over 2300m at Mons on 26 October. Is no slouch on a good day, placed here last month, sports a revised formula, and can play a part if Paul Ploquin settles him early
  11. CANTAB AS – Unraced since coming 2nd of 13 in a 2150m Enghien Class F 4 months ago. Barefoot for comeback but is expected to be race-rusty
  12. LUCIFER BOKO – Sanctioned, on French debut, in a Class C under these conditions a month ago. Shod this time though and perhaps best to hold off
  13. OBLIVION – 6th of 13 in a Class C under these conditions mid-month. Is better than recent results would suggest and a quick start would go a long way
    Summary: An excellent servant that seldom meets opposition these days, INVICTUS DU DOLLAR (8) imposed from a shocking draw here recently and, with Alexandre Abrivard in the bike, will be expected to confirm. Winner of his last 2 harness starts, MISTER INVICTUS (5) finds himself better-positioned behind the car and looks the main threat. A tough nut to crack in the day’s configuration, IMHOTEP FROMENTRO (9) did not win the draw-lottery but he gets on superbly with Gabi Gelormini, is shod to preference, and in with a realistic shout. Seldom disappointing when barefoot and focused, OBLIVION (13) breaks from the rear but still deserves attention.

  14. JALMAROSA – Last of 15, behind JET SOCIETY (3), in a Class C conditioner over course and distance on 5 November. Is a classy campaigner but stays shod and best to keep one’s powder dry
  15. JOLYSTAR GEDE – Tricky character making first appearance since finishing last of 13 in a Class C over course and distance on 22 September and is not about to shake things up
  16. JET SOCIETY – Beat a number of these earlier in the month before faulting in a 2100m Class C here last week. Seldom lets the side down when focused and will be expected to contest the finish
  17. JOIA DU CITRUS – Not the most fortunate when last but one in 5 November race of reference, but still appears to have too much to do
  18. JUSTICIA SMART – Sanctioned in 6 of last 7, latterly a 2100m Class C here on 22 November, but others easier to trust
  19. JUNGLE GREEN – Dependable type that ran 4th of 11, despite being unsure of stride, in a 2100m Class C here last week. Is a veritable metronome when barefoot and, proven at this level, is not to be underestimated
  20. JOURNEE REVEE – Faithful servant that ran 3rd of 15, a place behind JET SOCIETY (3), in a Class C over course and distance on 5 November. Just hind shoes off this time, but is clearly in shape, and can pick up a cheque
  21. JAMAICA – Has not been seen out since finishing 8th of 9 in a 2175m monté Class C here late-August. Has other priorities and can be ruled out
  22. JET SET – Won a Class D here before coming 5th of 15, behind JET SOCIETY (3), in a Class C over course and distance on 5 November. Consistently in the thick of things at this level and can again make the frame
  23. JUSTICIA GLAM – Back under harness after running 7th of 9 in a 2850m monté Class C here late last month. Is barefoot for just 2nd time and, considering the entry, will not be far from the action
  24. JASMINE DE VAU – Has 3 runs under her belt, latterly 4th of 15 in a 2625m Class D conditioner at La Rochelle 3 weeks ago. Entrusted to Franck Nivard for first time, goes barefoot, and looks competitive for a first-5 payout
  25. JALENDRA DE MALAC – Made it 2 on the trot when dominating a 2850m Class C here on 11 October. Has had time to get back in shape and is eminently capable of securing the hat-trick
    Summary: Superbly-engaged at the limit of earnings and twice a winner here over the autumn, JALENDRA DE MALAC (12) returns fresh and can make this her own. She will still have a job on her hands if the classy JET SOCIETY (3) keeps her action together. JET SET (9) is right in her category here and will have a lot more to offer this time around. JUSTICIA GLAM (10) has references over course and distance and will be barefoot for her first goal of the winter.

  28. KISS ME DU LIVET – Placed under these conditions in September but she will need to improve on last week’s 6th of 14 in a 2700m Class D here
  29. KENNEDY STREET – 3rd of 11 in a 2700m Class D here 3 weeks ago. A revelation since starting to race barefoot and and must be taken seriously
  30. KARINA STEED – Was prepping for this when sanctioned in a 2700m Class D here a week ago. Sports a new configuration but has placed just twice in 9 main-track starts and others easier to back
  31. KISS ME DU RUEL – Starts for first time since finishing 12th of 14, behind KALINKA CASTELETS (10), in a 2100m Class D here on 13 September. Has previously won under these conditions but not easy to recommend on re-entry
  32. KEY OF LOVE – Unraced since faulting in a 2100m Class A here 2 months ago. Remains shod for re-entry and can be passed over
  33. KENZA SUPREME – Returned to winning ways in a 2200m Class D here late last month. Dangerous in this configuration and is not to be undervalued
  34. KHAMSA – Won over course and distance before faulting in a 2700m Class C here on 18 October. Is a class above most here and, with more luck in running, can wrap this up
  35. KALINKA CASTELETS – 9th of 15 in a 2100m Class D here 2 weeks ago. Has previously won at this level but has not done enough lately to be considered a player
  36. KLASSICA BLEUE – Sanctioned on return to competition in a 2825m Chartres Class E on 4 November. Is a model of consistency when unshod-behind and is in with a realistic chance of imposing
  37. KOUSINE CARISAIE – Caught the eye when 4th of 9 in a 2850m Laval Class A a fortnight ago. Matthieu Abrivard back in the bike and looks competitively well-in
  38. KELLE CLASS – Ran 4th over 2700m before finishing 12th of 15, behind KALINKA CASTELETS (10), in a 2100m Class D here 2 weeks ago. Boasts good references at this level though and will have a lot to contribute if she keeps her action together
  39. KULTA – 3rd of 11 in a 2700m Class D here 3 weeks ago. Not an obvious contender but benefits from a terrific entry and has never disappointed for Benjamin Rochard
    Summary: KHAMSA (9) could well have picked up the 4-timer had she not collided with another horse here last time out, but will have every chance at redemption if Julien Dubois keeps her out of trouble. He will still be keeping one eye on the progressive KLASSICA BLEUE (11) who is shod to preference for her Vincennes bow, and the tricky but capable KELLE CLASS (13) who will have progressed for her comeback run. KOUSINE CARISAIE (12) showed her form at Laval and has a reasonable chance of confirming.

  40. KOUROUX – Reassuring, and surprising, 3rd of 13 to KING DE LARRE (6) in a 2200m Class D here a month ago. Will not be sent out at 88/1 this time but cannot be considered a player either
  41. KEITHOS DU RHIN – 2nd on re-entry at Chartres but just 6th of 9 in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class A on 13 November, and is not about to spring any surprises
  42. KING EVOLUTION – Unable to confirm Enghien victory when 5th of 14 in a 2850m Class D over the inner track on 22 October. Races barefoot and is not without a first-5 chance
  43. KEN FERFAY – Encouraging 3rd of 7 in a 2825m Class A at Le Croise-Laroche 3 weeks ago but faces a much stiffer test here
  44. KING DE L’OUEST – 3rd to 2 very good horses in a 2825m Class B at Le Croise-Laroche on 1 November. Is patently on the way up and will be competitive for a place on the podium
  45. KING DE LARRE – Made up for Enghien sanction when easily winning a 2200m Class D here a month ago. Is confirmed over the main track and Benjamin Rochard will not be leaving with one arm as long as the other
  46. KRYSTAL PIYA – Serious colt that won twice at Cabourg before running 4th of 11, a place behind KENZO DU MONT (11), in a 2700m Class D here 10 days ago. Plainly passed his test and should prove more competitive this time
  47. KHEOPS SAINT CLAIR – Shod to preference after having finished 8th of 10 in a 2625m Class E conditioner at La Rochelle 3 weeks ago, but still not easy to like
  48. KENOR DESBOIS – Sanctioned, on first start since the break, in a 2825m Chartres Class E earlier this month. Shod to preference this time and, if applied, can make a big splash
  49. KIBRILLE MONTAVAL – Last of 14, on comeback, in a 2800m Vire Class B late last month. Is still being conditioned though and best to hold off
  50. KENZO DU MONT – 3rd of 11 in a 2700m Class D here 10 days ago. Has taken no time getting back in shape and although unlikely to impose, can still get in on the action
  51. KEL PRESTANCE – Picked up 3.5 weeks ago where he left off before the spell, winning a 2100m Class E here. Goes over a more particular distance this time but still looks up to the task. Claim
  52. KAMOUR – 2nd of 12 in a 2700m Class D here 3 weeks ago, but is in better company this time and others preferred
  53. KILLER DE CAHOT – Makes Vincennes debut after finishing 5th of 9 in a 2850m Laval Class A a fortnight ago. Has ample ability but represents no more than a minor place prospect
    Summary: Undefeated in two starts over the main track, KEL PRESTANCE (12) will have come on for his recent performance and has a realistic chance of pulling off the hat-trick. Following his Chartres conditioner, KENOR DESBOIS (9) is unshod behind, reunited with Alexandre Abrivard, and could yet spoil the Lebourgeois-Locqueneux party. A more confident horse since starting to race barefoot, KING DE L’OUEST (5) is unlikely to disappoint. KRYSTAL PIYA (7) held his own here after a pair of right-handed victories and David Thomain will be justifiably confident of a big run.

  58. L’AMIRAL DARLING – With different tactics would have finished closer than 9th of 11 in a 2700m Class E here 11 days ago . Has evident ability and Nicolas Bazire will be eager to set the record straight
  59. L’AMOUR D’ETANG – Sanctioned in last 2, most recently a 2700m Class E here on 18 November. Should appreciate the shorter trip and, if focused, can challenge for a place in the frame
  60. LOZANO – 3rd of 9 in a 2550m Reims Class E a fortnight ago. Takes on a better bunch this time and is unlikely to cause an upset
  61. LAGO DE PERVENCHE – Sanctioned when clearly in form, in a 2550m Reims Class D mid-September. Comes here fresh and can return to winning ways
  62. LATINO AU CROSNIER – Got off the mark in a 2225m Vire Class F on 10 November. Enjoys an excellent entry and, with 4 pads fitted, will be competitive for a spot in the mix
    Summary: A fine future prospect, LAGO DE PERVENCHE (8) has had time to get his house in order, races with hind pads for the first time and, if applied, can open his metropolitan account. Alexandre Abrivard would still be wise to be wary of L’AMIRAL DARLING (5) who has won 2 of his last 4, and L’AMOUR D’ETANG (6) who will not be far off the mark if Damien Bonne can keep him trotting.

  67. LIGNE BLANCHE – Comfortably opened her account in a 2400m Chateaubriant Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Is clearly on the way up and the engagement of Alexandre Abrivard will only work to her advantage
  68. LOTTA ROSIE – 11th of 13 in a 2600m Saint-Galmier Class E 10 days ago. Is not without merit, and sports front pads for first time, but would be preferred at a lower level
  69. LOVA DE LA COUR – Left a good impression on re-entry before coming 4th of 10 in a 2850m Laval Class E 3 weeks ago. Is plainly in shape and can get in on the action if she takes to the new profile
  70. LIO DE PIENCOURT – Comfortable 2nd of 9 finishers in a 2700m Graignes Class F early this month. Takes on a better lot this time but sports pads for the occasion and can get a look-in
  71. LORELEI DE REUX – Returns to racing left-handed after coming 4th of 12 in a 2750m Cabourg Class E on 26 October. Sports pads this time, with Yoann Lebourgeois reining, and must not be discounted
  72. LAURIANE DU RIED – Surprise 3rd of 8 in a 2700m Class E here on 14 November. Franck Nivard at the helm this time and can get her nose in front if she deigns to stay in stride
  73. LEXOVIENNE – 8th of 10 in a 2550m Reims Class E on 14 November. Hind pads fitted but still has a lot more to find
  74. LIPINSKA – Got off the mark at Bordeaux before running 3rd of 10 in a 2400m Amiens Class F mid-month. Takes a notable step up the category-ladder but races with front pads, will be reined by Mathieu Mottier, and will have her supporters
  75. LADY DE JANEIRO – Sanctioned, on first start for 3 months, in a 2550m Reims Class E a fortnight ago. Goes left-handed for first time and not an obvious choice
  76. LAURE DE MORANZY – Showed marginal improvement when 5th of 8 in a 2725m Graignes Class E 2.5 weeks ago, but is still being aimed too high
  77. LADY VICTORY – Last but one in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class E on 10 November. Fitted with pads this time, enjoys a good entry, but still not easy to recommend
    Summary: LAURIANE DU RIED (10) put a brace of sanctions behind her with a fine run over longer here mid-month and in similar form could finally get that maiden monkey off her back. She will still encounter opposition from LESLIE DE VANDEL (2) who is better than her recent effort would suggest, and LIGNE BLANCHE (5) who earned the right to race here after scoring at Chateaubriant. LEIRIA (3) acquitted herself well on her recent re-entry, will have come on for the run, and will be no pushover.

  80. GASSMAN D’ESSA – Pleased at Enghien before finishing 12th of 14, behind FERIA DE LIGNY (6), in a 2800m Pontchateau Class E on 1 November. Enjoys a good draw, has been reconfigured, and if applied can play a small part
  81. IF I TELL YOU – Raced better in a similar event here 10 days ago than his 11th of 12 would suggest. Handed a good draw and is in with shout of making first 5 this time
  82. FILOU DU BERGER – Sanctioned in a 2400m Amiens Class D mid-month and current form does nothing to inspire confidence
  83. FERIA DE LIGNY – 11th of 14 in a 2800m Pontchateau Class E on 1 November. Benefits from a front-line start and, if focused, can impose
  84. FAKIR DE GESVRES – Takes a big dip in category after finishing last but one in a 2100m Class D here on 25 October and is not incapable of getting a look-in
  85. FARCEUR DE MAI – Sanctioned in a 2950m Toulouse monté Class E earlier in the month. Is better than most in this field and Yoann Lebourgeois gets the honours this time
  86. GLORIOSO BELLO – Defied his 86/1 to come 4th of 13 in a 2450m Caen Class C on 12 October, and a similar performance would assure him a place on the podium. Claim
  87. FAIRPLAY FOREVER – Has 3 conditioners under his belt, most recently last of 12 in a 2725m Graignes Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Is plainly in competition-mode and despite the draw, will have his chances
  88. HEROS DU POMMEREUX – 7th of 11 in a 2550m Reims Class D a fortnight ago. Flopped on lone claiming start here and cannot be considered a priority
  89. GORLANDO LUDOIS – 9th of 15 in a 2500m Saint-Brieuc Class E on 3 November. On 2nd line and appears to have too much to do
  90. HOMMAGE DE LARRE – Last but one in a 2725m Graignes Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Springs the occasional surprise but is unlikely to do so here
  91. GOWEN CHALEONNAIS – Unplaced in 3 since coming 3rd in a similar event here early-October, most recently 8th of 14 in a 2825m Chartres Class E on Tuesday, and backs up with limited aspiration
  92. GOLZAC DE REM – Last of 15 in a 2800m Vire Class F on 10 November and even racing barefoot will have little to offer
    Summary: Already established in the claiming category and recently competitive in superior company, GLORIOSO BELLO (9) has been handed a tough draw but with Benjamin Rochard at the helm, can finally open his 2024 account. Runner-up in a Class D here during the summer, and decently-positioned in front, FERIA DE LIGNY (6) is no slouch either. Seldom disappointing when focused, FAIRPLAY FOREVER (10) is new to claimers and not ideally-placed on the back row, but is barefoot for the occasion and should not be underestimated. FARCEUR DE MAI (8) breaks wide on the first line but has the wherewithal to pick up a place cheque.

  94. KID LEA DRIVER – Sanctioned, on just send start back, in a 2850m Laval harness Class F a fortnight ago. Goes first-time barefoot for ridden bow and the engagement of Anthony Barrier will do her prospects no harm
  95. KLOE DU ROUEZO – Complicated filly that was going freely before faulting in a harness Class E over course and distance 2.5 weeks ago. Has talent in spades and can win this if she takes to the new code
  96. KORALINE DU LUPIN – 3rd of 15 in a 2700m Vincennes Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Has been lurking lately and should find this course to her liking
  97. KYRA GIO – 9th of 11, when being conditioned, in a 2200m harness Class E here 2.5 weeks ago. Has never disappointed under the saddle and will be barefoot for the occasion
  98. KALEA DREAM – Takes first competitive monté steps after being sanctioned early in a 2200m Class D here a month ago. Hind shoes off this time but still not easy to like
  99. KIVIANA – 7th of 10 finishers in a 2700m Class E here on 19 November. Has twice failed to confirm Cabourg victory but sports pads this time, pleased on lone start over track and trip, and should not be overlooked
  100. KRYSTEL SEVEN – Sanctioned in all 3 this term, latterly a 2700m Class E here last week. Is not one to be ignored when focused though and the revised configuration may be just what the doctor ordered
  101. KEJAIME DE HOUELLE – Unlucky to be sanctioned in a 2700m Class D here a month ago. Won in this configuration last March but still seems to be taking on too much
  102. KIARA DES MONTS – Makes first appearance under the saddle after running 8th of 10 in a 2850m Class E on 17 November, and is not about to cause an upset
  103. KRISTALE D’ERABLE – 9th of 11, when being conditioned, in a 2725m Graignes Class E last weekend. Thrives in this configuration, has references over course and distance, and could yet impose
  104. KALIE D’URSIN – Returns to the inner track after being sanctioned in a 2700m Class E here 11 days ago. First time unshod-behind but others easier to trust
  105. KEY TO THE HIGHWAY – Debuts in the discipline after faulting in a 2725m Graignes monté Class E last Saturday. Boasts solid harness credentials, sports 4 pads for first time, and must be respected
    Summary: A talented filly but as capricious as they come, KLOE DU ROUEZO (3) races shod for her switch to the monté discipline and will have her chances if Damien Bonne manages to keep her trotting from one end of the race to the other. Similarly-complicated but already established in the code, KRYSTEL SEVEN (8) reverts to a successful formula and Alexandre Abrivard has kept faith in her. Confirmed under these conditions and hard to knock in the day’s configuration, KRISTALE D’ERABLE (11) will be no soft touch. Barefoot this time, KORALINE DU LUPIN (4) is close to her race but still looks more a place chance on this occasion.

    Summary: A very cosy winner of a Condition race last time out, MONTE SANCHA (2) looks a solid proposition back in the Handicap division. She will take all the beating but it may be safer to keep a close eye on PARIOLO (1) who posted a very promising first run on the fibersand last time out. FEE DU VIVIEN (7) is still looking for that elusive first career win but she is in fine form and warrants the utmost respect. SANTO (6) is another one that can be on the shortlist.

    Summary: VEGETALE (9) ran a very promising third on debut at the venue early this month. She’ll come on plenty for the experience and warrants the utmost respect. WEDDING MOOD (2) was far from disgraced on debut at Longchamp last month on a very testing ground. She should be smarter and could be an interesting contender. MADIBA (4) and FLAMME ROUGE (7) are best of the rest.

  108. ANNA MANDARA – Victorious in a conditions race at Machecoul over 2350m on 11 November. Has shown improvement but tackles stronger this time
  109. STRANGELOVE – Showed improvement when fourth in a handicap at this course over 2500m on 20 November. Can do even better this time
  110. MISTER JULES – Has struggled of late and was 12th in a handicap at Amiens over 2200m on 6 November. Capable of doing better and is not out of it
  111. ALREADY QUEEN – Unreliable but was runner-up in a conditions race at Machecoul over 1650m on 3 November. Has a place chance
  112. KEDUREV – Finished 10th in a claimer at Machecoul over 1650m on 11 November. Needs major improvement
  113. LARCIN – Disappointing last run when 11th in a handicap at Amiens over 2200m on 6 November. Placed twice this year and can earn some money
  114. ORFEO – Finished 11th in a claimer at Chantilly over 2100m on 28 October. Capable of better but others are preferred
  115. LULILUCIOLE BLOU – Has struggled of late and was 7th in a handicap at this course over 1900m on 3 November. Yet to win and needs major improvement to beat these rivals
  116. RUM TUM TUGGER – Finished 14th in a handicap at Amiens over 2200m on 6 November. On a long losing streak and more is needed to win this race
    Summary: STRANGELOVE (9) somewhat reassured in his last start and should benefit from the slight drop in distance. He is a tentative choice ahead of AFRIQUE ADIEU (1), who also showed a rebound of form at the venue early this month. He has a tricky draw number but has the assistance of Champion jockey Maxime Guyon. LOGIS (3) was far from disgraced in his last start in a better class of event. Watch out for MISTER JULES (10) who is back over a surface that will suit him.
