C1 – PRIX DE VILLERS COTTERETS – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class C Race – Harness – EUR € 53,000

  1. CERTAINLY (SWE) – 12th of 15, on first start back, in a Class D over course and distance 2.5 weeks ago. Will have come on for the run and will not be far off the mark if Franck Ouvrie extricates him early
  2. IDEM JIHEM – 7th of 15, a place behind CHEMAR (3), in a Class C over course and distance late-October. Better-placed this time and will be one to watch
  3. CHEMAR – Would arguably have finished closer than 8th of 13 behind IN EN VRIE (5) in a Class C over course and distance mid-November had different tactics been employed. Won here in 1’11” here in September and could well repeat
  4. DONIZETTI (SWE) – Unseen since finishing last of 13 in a 2700m Class D at La Capelle 3 months ago. Barefoot for the occasion but has no possible chance
  5. IN EN VRIE – Defied his 15/1 to run 4th of 13 in a Class C over track and trip mid-November. Has been undervalued before but enjoys a good spot behind the car and is unlikely to be this time. First 5
  6. JOY ALISSA – Makes Vincennes debut after coming 3rd of 7 over 2140m under the saddle in Bergsåker on 9 November. Here to get the lie of the land and can be passed over
  7. FIGHTER SIMONI – Sensational this season, latterly dominating a 2950m Toulouse Class E a fortnight ago. Has never failed to deliver here and from the front row must be considered a player
  8. IBRA MESLOIS – Last but one, on return from a long absence, in a 2700m Class A here on 18 November. Shoes on and no danger
  9. G.K.JUSTUS – Reassuring 3rd of 14 in a 2150m Mauquenchy Class D 3 weeks ago. Not ideally-drawn though and others easier to back
  10. FETLOCK JOINT – Has not been seen out since finishing last of 9 over 2350m in Waregem late-August. Reconfigured but still best to hold off
  11. CHEYENNE LUX – Given an easy race when 10th of 13 behind IN EN VRIE (5) in a Class C over course and distance mid-November. Matthieu Abrivard gets the nod this time and, with a well-negotiated break, can impose
  12. MASK OFF (FIN) – Would have finished in the money when making Vincennes debut in a 2850m Class D mid-October had he not stumbled 100m out. Returns to racing shod and Yoann Lebourgeois has maintained faith. Minor place prospect
  13. NINEPOINTS LASSE – Got back to winning ways in a 2625m Agen monté Class D on 23 October. Is no slouch under harness either and even with just front shoes off, can play a small part
  14. SIDNEY CELEBER – Good 3rd over track and trip before faulting [prior to passing the post in 2nd] in a 2725m Cabourg Class D mid-October. Is reconfigured for the occasion and Eric Raffin will be eager to capitalise on his charge’s form
    Summary: Visiting horses have the upper hand here, the ideally-positioned CHEMAR (3) looking the horse to beat despite failing to deliver lately. Stablemate SIDNEY CELEBER (14) will also be in with a shout if Eric Raffin keeps him trotting, but he may first have to see off CHEYENNE LUX (11) who acquitted himself nicely on his first start since the spell. CERTAINLY (SWE) (1) has yet to produce the goods at Vincennes but he has a race under his belt and patently has the wherewithal to get in on the action.

  15. MILORD D’IRAI – Sanctioned in a Gr.3 before finishing last but one in a 2700m Class B on Saturday. Has raced and placed at a superior level and, on good behaviour, can wrap this up
  16. MEA CULPA – Sanctioned in last 2, latterly a 2650m Agen claimer on 4 November. Is by no means devoid of merit, enjoys a decent draw, and will have an important part to play if he stays in stride
  17. MYRTILLE MARBOULA – Has twice failed to confirm Cherbourg claiming success, most recently 7th of 8 in a 2700m Graignes Class B on 11 November. Is back in her category and the engagement of Gabi Gelormini will only work in her favour
  18. MANHATTAN ROUSSAC – 2nd to MYRTILLE MARBOULA (3) in a Cherbourg claimer before finishing a trounced 6th of 7 in a 2200m Class B here a month ago. Returns to a more suitable division and, from the 4-spot, should be taken seriously
  19. MAESTRO DE JOUDES – Has not been seen out since finishing last of 9, behind MANHATTAN ROUSSAC (4), in a 2150m Enghien Class C late-September. Is capable on a good day, has been handed a fine draw, and can restore some morale
  20. MARVEL MESLOIS – Ran 3rd at Le Croise-Laroche before being sanctioned in a Class C over course and distance a fortnight ago. Form is not in question and is sufficiently well-placed behind the car to give this a good go. First 5
  21. MAGGIE MAY – Lost her action in a 2400m Châteaubriant Class E on 11 November. Starts in front but has placed just once in 4 starts and is unlikely to shake things up
  22. MINNIE DE SUBLIGNY – Makes first appearance since coming 5th of 6, a place behind MYRTILLE MARBOULA (3), in a 2200m Vichy Class E on 21 September. Will be race-rusty and best to wait
  23. MERRY – Reassuring 4th of 8 finishers, despite stride concerns, in a 2175m Class D here a week ago. Takes a notable drop in category and is unlikely to disappoint
  24. MAGNIFIQUE IDEE – Last of 7, behind MAMZELLE DREAM (11), in a 2675m Class F at Le Mont-Saint-Michel 2.5 weeks ago, and can expect to remain friendless in the markets
  25. MAMZELLE DREAM – 5th of 7 in a 2675m Class F at Le Mont-Saint-Michel 2.5 weeks ago. Takes on a tougher lot this time and has no left-handed references
  26. MA CATHERINECHERIE – Takes first career steps after having qualified in 1’20”2 at Caen 4 months ago. Benjamin Rochard engaged for the occasion but others still preferred
  27. MUSE DU GOUTIER – Makes career debut, having qualified in 1’19”5 at Caen late-August, and no fireworks anticipated
  28. MIDDLE STAR – 9th of 11 in a 2050m Laval Class F 2.5 weeks ago and even at this level, has little to no chance
  29. MONACO JENILOU – 7th of 9 in a 2300m Chartres Class F a month ago. Did not win the draw-lottery and even with a leading driver in the bike, will struggle to make his mark
    Summary: Clearly capable but out of the picture in his last two, MILORD D’IRAI (1) contests his first claimer, from the front row, and if applied can finally get that maiden monkey off his back. He will still be opposed by MEA CULPA (2) who will have a lot to contribute if Clément Duvaldestin keeps him trotting, and MYRTILLE MARBOULA (3) who won her only start in this category. MERRY (9) has been less-fortunate with the draw but a repeat of her recent performance would see her finish closer.

  31. LA BOMBONERA – Back to racing with pads after coming 5th of 8 finishers, behind LADY DU CHENE (5), in a 2175m Class D here on 8 November. Unlikely to cause an upset but could well get a look-in
  32. LA MISS ROYALE – Quality element that showed her form despite being sanctioned in a 2175m Class D here on 8 November, but can impose this time if she stays in stride
  33. LIBERTY AVENUE – Has not been seen out since finishing last of 10 in a 2700m Class C here last May, and will need the run
  34. LADY DU CHENE – 3rd of 8 finishers in a 2175m Class D here on 8 November, despite being denied a run. Alexandre Abrivard at the helm this time and looks a serious player
  35. LAGUNA SECA – Made it 2 in a row when easily winning a 2700m Class E here on 14 November. Unlikely to repeat but can nonetheless challenge for a spot in the mix
  36. LADY HAUFOR – 2nd of 8 to LAGUNA SECA (6) in a 2700m Class E here 3 weeks ago, on just 2nd start back. First time with pads and has every chance of winning this
  37. LOU D’ECROVILLE – Sanctioned in a 2175m monté Class D here on 18 November. Here for a change of scenery and can be passed over
  38. LYRA POTERIE – Reassuring 3rd of 9 finishers in a 2100m Class E here a fortnight ago, but still has more to find
  39. LA VISTA HAUFOR – Easy winner of a 2700m Class E here a fortnight ago. Pads fitted for first time and looks a decent proposition
  40. LOLA DU CAMPUS – Won at Caen before being headed in a Class E over course and distance a month ago. Is padded again and will be no pushover
  41. LUNA D’ARNHEM – 7th of 8 finishers, behind LADY DU CHENE (5), in a 2175m Class D here on 8 November, and is simply not up to the task
  42. LADY DU POMMEREUX – 2nd of 14 in a 2100m claimer over the main track a week ago but will have nothing to offer this time
  43. LOVA BLUE – 6th of 9 in a 2850m Laval Class A mid-November. Consistently gives her best but even sporting a new configuration, that will still not be enough
  44. LEA D’ATOUT – Ran 2nd at Enghien before faulting in race of reference. Is in decent condition though, enjoys a good entry, and Matthieu Abrivard will be eager to make hay
    Summary: Very unlucky here early last month, LA MISS ROYALE (3) is clearly in excellent shape and over this more even surface can bring home the bacon. Fortune did not favour LADY DU CHENE (5) that day either but she still put on a good show and the change of driver can play a decisive part. Beaten here mid-November, LADY HAUFOR (7) will be fully-fit by now and padded this time, while stablemate LA VISTA HAUFOR (10) steps up in class after having recently opened her account over the main track.

  51. LE RETOUR VRIE – Showed his condition despite being excluded early in a 2100m Class E over the inner track a fortnight ago but, with application, will be good enough to finish in the mix
  52. LOVING DREAM – Unable to confirm Cabourg effort when last of 11 behind LOULOU DES OUBEAUX (11), in a 2100m Class E over the inner track a fortnight ago. Sports pads this time but still not an obvious choice
  53. LOOK PEJI – Easy winner of a 2725m Graignes Class E 3 weeks ago. In better company this time but can still play a prominent role
  54. LYNX DU SAPTEL – Comfortable winner a 2550m Reims Class E 3 weeks ago. Has no Vincennes references but in current form is very easy to like. Chance
  55. LOULOU DES OUBEAUX – Put a pair of sanctions behind him to run 4th of 11 in a 2100m Class E over the inner track a fortnight ago, and even racing shod will not be sent out at 23/1 this time
  56. LUCKY LOVE – Failed to live up to expectations when 5th of 11, a place behind LOULOU DES OUBEAUX (11), in a 2100m Class E over the inner track a fortnight ago. Has merit but cannot be considered a priority
  57. LUDO PAROYO – Made it 3 in a row when successful in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class E 3.5 weeks ago. Faces a tougher test this time but nevertheless has the quality to continue his rich vein of form
  58. LOUIS VITTON MIJO – Met little opposition on return to competition 11 days ago, winning a 2700m Graignes Class E. Mathieu Mottier reining this time and must be considered a contender
  59. LINO DU POMMEREUX – Sanctioned, when unsupported, in a 2850m Class D here 9 days ago. Has obvious ability but will first need to re-establish his credentials
    Summary: Enjoying something of a renaissance over recent months, LUDO PAROYO (13) makes his Vincennes debut on a 4-timer and, with Anthony Barrier reining, can pull it off. That said, he still faces the improving LYNX DU SAPTEL (10) who got off the mark at Reims last month, and the good LOVE DANCER (5) who will have come on for his Nantes return run. LOUIS VITTON MIJO (14) was most impressive on his first start back and although stepping up in category, he still looks a player.

  62. EXPRESS D’ARC – Unraced since being sanctioned over a mile in Turin on 23 September. Is clearly in competition-mode though and, proven in more elevated company, could well with this
  63. ELAND – Starts for first time since being sanctioned in a 2100m Class D here late-September and will have nothing to contribute
  64. EMIRO CLEMAR – Has taken well to Vincennes conditions, latterly 5th of 11 in a 2100m Class C here on 25 October. Can prove a handful but can also play a leading role if Matthieu Abrivard keeps him focused
  65. YIN YANG – Makes just 2nd Vincennes appearance after having won over 1900m in Berlin late-October. Competitively-shod but others still preferred
  66. KANDEL DE BEYLEV – Disappointing 9th of 14 in race of reference. Won his only outing under these conditions, is shod as he was then, but still faces a tough ask
  67. KRONO DU TRIO – 12th of 14 behind KAN DURAN (12) when denied a run in a 2100m Class D here mid-November. Has decent Vincennes references in superior company and must be afforded respect
  68. KENTUCKY SOMOLLI – 3rd on Vire re-entry before finishing lacklustre 11th of 14 in a 2100m Class D here mid-November. Sports pads for first time, has solid Vincennes references, and must not be underestimated
  69. EK DEL RONCO – Back to Vincennes after running 2nd of 6 over 2100m in Naples a month ago. Has references under these conditions and returns to racing barefoot with a good hand to play
  70. KAKOU CAYENNAIS – Easy winner of a 2700m Class D here a fortnight ago. Takes on a marginally better lot this time but can still finish in the mix
  71. KAN DURAN – Reassuring 3rd of 14 in a 2100m Class D here mid-November. Hard to knock when barefoot but may be taking on too much this time
  72. KATSUMOTO – 4th of 14, a place behind KAN DURAN (12), in a 2100m Class D here mid-November. David Thomain reining this time but others still preferred
  73. KNOK – 5th of 14 in 15 November race of reference. Has evident ability but is being aimed too high on this occasion
  74. KISS ME – 5th of 15 in a 2700m Class C here on 30 October. Enjoys a good entry and should again give another competitive account
  75. KWARTZ SIBEY – 3rd of 8 in a 3000m Nantes Class A 2.5 weeks ago. Has never disappointed in the day’s configuration and will legitimately generate interest
    Summary: He may not be the easiest of horses to handle but EMPIRE AS (2) has buckets of ability, and although yet to win for his new trainer, he goes barefoot for the occasion and, with application, can open his French account. JMB will still be wary of compatriot EXPRESS D’ARC (3) who is barefoot for his seasonal return, with Eric Raffin in the bike, and EMIRO CLEMAR (5) who left a very good impression here late-October. KRONO DU TRIO (8) last all chance through no fault of his own last time but has nothing to prove at this level and will be competitive for a place cheque.

  78. LOBELIE DE GODREL – 6th of 9 when preparing for this in a 2100m harness Class E a fortnight ago. Has references at a better level, sports 4 pads this time, but other more competitive options on offer
  79. LEA DE FROULAY – Sanctioned at Pornichet before finishing 2nd of 8 to LEXA DE LA CROIX (7) in a 2200m Class E here 3 weeks ago. Has taken well to racing with pads and has a reasonable chance of picking up another place cheque
  80. LA STORIA DE LOU – Won easily at Cabourg before coming 2nd of 5 to LACINIA (11) in a 2700m Class E here a month ago. Returns to racing with front pads and takes to the shorter trip with legitimate ambition
  81. LOUISIANE KERYVON – Respectable 4th of 7 finishers, on return from a long absence, in a Class D over course and distance on 18 November. Has more to find but should nevertheless hold her own
  82. LEXA DE LA CROIX – Got off the mark in a 2200m Class E here 3 weeks ago. Has earned the right to return to the main track and can again make first 3
  83. LOLITA DE MIELOUI – Unraced since running 2nd of 7 in a 2200m Class D here on 1 October. Returns fresh and, if back on the boil, can make her presence felt
  84. LA GUARDIA – Reassuring, and surprising, 2nd of 12 in a 2700m Le Croise-Laroche harness Class E 9 days ago, but is most unlikely to repeat
  85. LAIKA D’ESPACE – Excluded after faulting in a 2625m Saint-Galmier harness Class B on 5 November. Pads fitted this time but still not easy to recommend
  86. LACINIA – Made it 2 on the trot when dominating a 2700m Class E here a month ago. Climbs another rung of the category-ladder and looks eminently up to the task
    Summary: Winner of her last two, most recently with consummate ease, LACINIA (11) takes advantage of an excellent entry here and Eric Raffin will be confident of pulling off the hat-trick. Runner-up to her a month ago, the reconfigured LA STORIA DE LOU (5) is not about to turn the tables but can nevertheless apply the pressure. LEXA DE LA CROIX (7) lost her maiden tag over the inner course last time will again be competitive at the business end of the race. LEA DE FROULAY (4) ran 2nd to her that day and can again figure prominently.

  89. MISSANDEI – Would have finished close in a 2200m Class B here a month ago had she not faulted 200m out, but on better behaviour can set the record straight. Chance
  90. MILLE ETOILES – Progressive filly that won at Caen before coming 2nd of 8 in a 2700m Graignes Class B on 11 November. Takes on a better bunch this time but is becoming battle-hardened and is not going to be far off the mark
  91. MAGIC AMERICA – Unbeaten in 2, most recently outclassing the opposition in a 2850m Class D over the inner track here 3 weeks ago and it is not easy to see her being bested this time either
  92. MUSCADE LEMAN – Takes a dip in category after finishing last of 6, behind MIDNIGHT MOLLY (7), in Gr.3 Prix Vourasie over 2200m here 11 days ago, but would be preferred still another level down
  93. MIDNIGHT MOLLY – Flattering 4th of 6 finishers in Gr.3 Prix Vourasie over 2200m here 11 days ago, and others easier to back
  94. MONEGASQUE – Won at Enghien before being sanctioned in 2 here, latterly when going well in Gr.3 Prix Vourasie over 2200m here 11 days ago. Is justifiably well-regarded and must not be written off
  95. MAESTRIA GALAA – Got off the mark in style, winning a 2175m Class D here a week ago. Steps up in category and, although not a priority, is still worth monitoring. Attention
  96. MORNING NEWS – In the frame in last 4, latterly 3rd of 7 in a 2200m Class B here a month ago. Unlikely to lose her maiden tag but has the capacity to apply the pressure at the business end of the race
  97. MELBA DU GERS – Classy winner of a 2100m Class C over the inner track here 12 days ago. Steps up in category but is plainly a filly with a future and looks main threat to MAGIC AMERICA (5)
  98. MARINA ELLIS – 5th of 6 finishers, a place behind MIDNIGHT MOLLY (7), in Gr.3 Prix Vourasie over 2200m here 11 days ago, and appears to have no possible chance
    Summary: Easy winner on debut at Nantes, MAGIC AMERICA (5) repeated with an authoritative performance over the inner course mid-November and graduates to the main track with every chance of securing the hat-trick. Eric Raffin will still be keeping an eye on the well-engaged MELBA DU GERS (11) who has done nothing but improve recently, and the promising MISSANDEI (3) who will be dangerous if applied. Runner-up to the Guarato filly last time out, MARALE SIBEY (1) is unlikely to turn the tables but can still challenge for a place on the podium.

It’s unlikely to be all plain sailing though considering the form JAG ROYAL (5) has been displaying of late. JUST D’ACADIE (16) is not to everyone’s taste but he got back in the game here recently and, with Yoann Lebourgeois maintaining faith, must be considered a leading player.     Summary: This is the headliner on the afternoon and it’s a race that has attracted a field of 16 runners. There is lots of quality on offer and it is set to be a mouth-watering event over 1500m. SIAM PARAGON (12) shades the vote in this as he won doing handstands last time out and is lethal on this surface. He is the one to beat. VERTBOIS (4) showed lots of heart to knuckle down for victory last time and is now 4th up for the year which should see him cherry ripe. MOUNT ATHOS (1) and FAST RAAJ (9) met at their most recent outing and there wasn’t a lot to choose between them which should be the case again. Both have compelling form and will be players.
