  4. PURE LEGEND – Well-bred Mehmas colt whose full-brother Gold Index placed at Group III at Chantilly as a two-year-old. Clément Lecoeuvre rides for trainer Henri-François Devin
  5. COLONEL SAAB – Hot Streak newcomer from the stable of Florian Bellemere, who has engaged Corentin Bergé to ride this colt
  6. RIDE ON – Augustin Madamet rides this Florian Bellemere-trained Fighting Irish colt on debut. Will appeal to lovers of outsiders
  7. TYWIN – Ronan Thomas rides this well-bred Mehmas colt on debut for Carlos & Yann Lerner. Likely type on paper – keep safe
  8. KHELONYX – Philippe Sogorb-trained Kheleyf gelding on debut with Alejandro Gutiérrez Val in the irons. Not taken lightly
  9. NOFIX – Edouard Monfort-trained newcomer by champion sprinter No Nay Never. Léo Roussel rides this gelding who shouldn’t lack speed on debut
  10. JUSTIFY TWIN CEN – Christophe Soumillon rides this Victoria Head-trained newcomer by American dirt champion Maximum Security. One for the shortlist
Summary: Mehmas is proving a prolific source of 2-year-old winners and that trend is likely to continue here with his sons PURE LEGEND (4), whose dam is a proven producer, and TYWIN (7), himself a well-related colt with an attractive pedigree. American-bred JUSTIFY TWIN CEN (10) and well-bred WINTER CLASSIC (2) are from stables known to do well with its young horses, so they shouldn’t be underestimated either.

    C2 – PRIX DU CHATEAU DE HIMEJI – 2100m (a1m1/4) – ALL WEATHER – Class 4 Divided Handicap – Flat – EUR € 13,000
  11. KING’S CROWN – Out of sorts – placed just once (3rd at Zweibrücken in April) in 10 starts this year – but shouldn’t be underestimated off a career-low mark, despite finishing 11th on a 2000m Nancy handicap on 17 November. Dark horse
  12. OSER – Versatile but unreliable veteran mare with undeniable means – usually acquits herself well on a going day. Shouldn’t be hastily condemned for her recent failure (11th) in a 1900m PSF handicap at Deauville on 4 December
  13. SILVER CONDOR – Won a course-and-distance handicap in mid-October with headgear fitted but finished unplaced in both subsequent starts under a 2,5kg penalty, though didn’t go unnoticed (6th) in a 2100m PSF handicap at Pornichet on 30 November
  14. THUNDER DREAM – Unplaced in all 6 starts on this surface, including 3 consecutive recent appearances – the latest (11th) on this course in a 2700m handicap on 22 November. Others preferred
  15. MEARAS STYLE – Honest hard-knocker with sound/consistent form references in handicaps at this level on both surfaces. Shouldn’t be hastily condemned for finishing 8th in a 2100m PSF handicap at Pornichet on 30 November – may well redeem herself
  16. DIAMOND FOR REEL – Lightly raced mare who opened her account in a 2600m Fontainebleau handicap in mid-October but failed to confirm that form/improvement when only 10th over the same distance at that venue on 7 November. For another day
  17. PRINCEDESCHAMPS – Inconsistent but versatile hard-knocker with sound references in handicaps on both surfaces, including a last-start 6th over 1800m in a Le Croisé-Laroche handicap on 16 November. His last victory was on PSF
  18. BLEUSKY – Experienced but unreliable handicapper. Failed to confirm the form/improvement of her 3rd at ParisLongchamp over 2250m in her penultimate start when only 7th over 2100m in a Vittel handicap on 25 July. Best watched for now
  19. ACATANA – Unexposed on this surface (finished 7th over 2400m in her only PSF appearance on 23 March last year) and did spark improvement off this mark to finish 4th in a 2000m turf handicap at Nancy on 17 November. Dark horse
  20. LA PALOMBIERE – Rediscovered form/consistency recently in 3 starts off her current mark – finished on the podium in each outing, the latest (3rd) in a 2000m handicap at Lignières on 30 November. Lacks references on this surface but is best kept safe
  21. WALDENON – Inconsistent but has already proven his competitiveness at this level off his current mark. Runner-up in a 1900m PSF handicap at Deauville last month and can be excused his latest (9th) performance at Pornichet on 30 November
  22. PRINCESS LAURA – Consistent and versatile 33-start maiden with sound references/form credentials, albeit without success. Finished 4th in 1900m PSF handicap at Deauville on 8 November and a repeat of that performance may suffice – today is her day!
  23. BAILEYS SANS DOUTE – Experienced 36-start maiden with inconsistent references in handicaps, including a last-start 14th on this course in a 3200m handicap on 28 October. Others make more appeal
  24. GO FOR IT – Unplaced in all 5 PSF appearances, including her latest (8th) in a 2150m handicap at Lyon-La Soie on 2 December. Can be overlooked
  25. COL NEM – Experienced but soundly beaten in his last 5 handicap appearances, the latest (14th) at Pornichet on 23 November over 1700m. Hard to recommend
  26. CLOUD MAN – Unplaced/soundly beaten in all 7 starts this year, the latest (13th) on this course in a 1900m claimer on 28 October. Ignore
Summary: An open handicap in which cases can be made for most. Versatile PRINCESS LAURA (12) showed her form recently on the PSF at Deauville and needs only to repeat that performance from a favourable stall gate to fight for victory. Experienced WALDENON (11), rejuvenated LA PALOMBIERE (10) and versatile OSER (2) are others with legitimate podium ambitions.

    C3 – PRIX DE SANDRICOURT – 1600m (a1m) – ALL WEATHER – Newcomers Race – Flat – EUR € 30,000
  27. ARNAGA – Victoria Head-trained Sottsass filly closely related to Group I Prix du Moulin runner-up Akatea. A likely type on debut with Christophe Soumillon engaged
  28. LA BILLEBAUDE – Nicolas Guilbert-trained daughter of Bobby’s Kitten debuting with Augustin Madamet in the irons. Not taken lightly
  29. HAPPY HOURS – Corentin Bergé rides this Machucambo debutante for Florian Bellemere who trains and also owns this filly
  30. PINYA – Philippe Decouz-trained daughter of Hello Youmzain. Not particularly bred to be precocious but benefits from Perrine Cheyer’s 1,5kg allowance
  31. RUE POUSSIN – Markus Nigge-trained newcomer who will benefit from Marie Vélon’s 1,5kg allowance. Shouldn’t be underestimated
  32. CHANTAL – Rosario Mangione rides this Al Wukair filly on debut for Alessandro & Giuseppe Botti. Will appeal to lovers of outsiders
  33. GAST A GAST – Romanised debutante from the in-form stable of François Monfort, who has engaged Clément Lecoeuvre to ride this filly. Keep safe
  34. TIGRESS OF GAUL – Well-bred Siyouni debutante related to 3-time Group I winner (over 1600m) Charm Spirit. Aurélien Lemaitre rides for trainer Tim Donworth
  35. PYRAMIDE – Attractively bred Gavin Hernon-trained Zelzal debutante. A likely type on debut, especially with Théo Bachelot aboard
  36. HAPPY SPIRIT – Ambre Molins takes 1,5kg off the back of this Stunning Spirit debutante owned and trained by Hélène Mennessier Martinez. Watch for now
  37. ZYA D’AUMONT – Goken debutante trained and owned by Armony Tinchon who has engaged Thomas Trullier to ride this filly
  38. LA CONSENTIDA – Galiway filly debuting with Tony Piccone in the saddle for trainer Henri-Alex Pantall. Awkwardly drawn but respected all the same
  39. NEIADE – Well-bred Seahenge filly related to Daring Prince, a Listed winner this fall. Ronan Thomas rides for Gianluca Bietolini
  40. LATROBE SKY – Florian Bellemere-trained Latrobe filly debuting under Axelle Nicco whose 1,5kg weight allowance will help. Outsider
Summary: Well-bred newcomer ARNAGA (1), with Christophe Soumillon engaged, seems a likely type on paper and need only overcome an awkward starting berth to fight for victory. TIGRESS OF GAUL (8), on paper, will be a worthy opponent, as will PYRAMIDE (9) who should acquit herself competitively from a favorable position in the stalls. NEIADE (13) hails from a good Aga Khan line, so she also deserves a mention.

    C4 – PRIX DE WATERMAEL-BOITSFORT – 2100m (a1m1/4) – ALL WEATHER – Class 4 Divided Handicap – Flat – EUR € 15,000
  41. SILVER BEAUTY – Unplaced in all 4 handicap appearances, the latest (10th) in a 2000m turf handicap at Nancy on 17 November. Unknown quantity on this surface
  42. WAITARA – Bounced back to form with a reassuring 3rd in a 2000m turf handicap at Lignières on 30 November. Confirmation required
  43. CRACKNELL – Maturing 11-start maiden with sound references/form credentials in handicaps on this surface, including a recent 2nd on this course over 1900m on 12 November. Candidate for success
  44. INCA MAN – Versatile hard-knocker whose experience and sound references/form credentials in PSF handicaps will stand him in good stead. Shouldn’t be hastily condemned for his failure (10th) on heavy ground at Craon on 1 December
  45. PUERTA DEL SOL – Lightly raced filly (15-start maiden) with little to suggest that she will be competitive in a race like this, especially on this surface after finishing 8th in a turf handicap over 1800m at Le Croisé-Laroche on 16 November. Overlook
  46. TWIN BOY – Won a 1500m PSF handicap at Deauville last month but struggled under a 2kg penalty in his subsequent start at that venue, finishing 7th over 1400m in a PSF handicap on 4 December. Improvement needed
  47. FULL COLOUR – Proven PSF performer with sound references/form credentials in handicaps on this surface, albeit without a win (34-start maiden). Runner-up in a 2500m PSF handicap at Deauville on 26 November – today could be her day!
  48. LA MOMY – Took advantage of a drop in the weights/ratings to finish a reassuring 2nd (off a career-low mark) in a 2100m PSF handicap at Pornichet on 30 November. Confirmation is expected
  49. ROHIRRIM LASS – Runner-up in a course-and-distance handicap on 12 October and should play a leading role with a repeat of that performance. Didn’t go unnoticed when 6th over 2150m at Lyon-La Soie on 25 October – winning chance
  50. LANDARYNA – Inconsistent but retains sufficient means – confirmed as much with a reassuring/competitive 3rd over 1900m on PSF in a handicap at Deauville on 4 December. Keep safe
  51. LE DRAKKAR – Regained form/momentum in handicaps earlier this yea, having dropped to a competitive mark and finished 2nd in a 2500m PSF handicap at Deauville when last seen on 10 Februray. Absent since so is best watched for now
  52. JOJO – Struggled (unplaced in her last 4 appearances) on French soil but didn’t go unnoticed when finishing 4th at Mons in a 2100m PSF handicap on 3 December. More needed here
  53. ZABIR – Won a 2100m PSF handicap at Pornichet last month and proved his competitiveness off this mark (under a 1,5kg penalty) by finishing 5th in a 2150m PSF handicap at Lyon-La Soie on 2 December. Dark horse
  54. PENRHEAD – Experienced filly with sound references/form credentials in turf handicaps, including a last-start 2nd over 1900m at Bordeaux on 22 November. Unknown quantity on this surface
  55. RECOLEROS – Versatile performer in good form and physical condition with sound references in handicaps on both surfaces, including a recent 3rd (over 2100m) on 5th over 1700m on 23 November in PSF handicaps at Pornichet – has a say
  56. NO BARRIER – Experienced 30-start maiden soundly beaten in his last 8 handicap appearances, the latest (11th) at Lyon-La Soie on PSF over 2150m on 2 December. Hard to recommend
Summary: FULL COLOR (7) showed recently that her day in this category is near. She can belatedly open her account at the expense of ROHIRRIM LASS (9), who is proven on this surface and races fresh after a break. RECOLEROS (15) is dangerous to discount under a light weight and appeals most of the remainder, with CRACKNELL (3) completing the shortlist.
    SELECTIONS
    FULL COLOUR (7) – ROHIRRIM LASS (9) – RECOLEROS (15) – CRACKNELL (3)
    C5 – PRIX DU JARDIN DES EAUX MINERALES – 3200m (a2m) – ALL WEATHER – Class 2 Divided Handicap – Flat – EUR € 53,000
  57. KAPANI – Finished an encouraging 5th in a 2500m PSF handicap at Deauville on 27 November resuming after a 4-month absence. Won this race last year, albeit off a lower mark, and ought to remain competitive
  58. SHELBY – Absent since finishing 10th over 2400m at Madrid, Spain on 20 October but boasts a good course-and-distance record (a win and a 3rd in as many outings). Usually runs well fresh and is competitive off this mark – dark horse
  59. LEMPIRA – Unplaced (11th) in a 2500m PSF handicap at Deauville on 2 November but ran a better race than his finishing position suggests. Subsequently joined Edouard Monfort’s stable – not taken lightly
  60. CHESS – He pulverized his opposition in winning the course-and-distance Prix de Raray on 28 October. Copped a penalty (3,5kg) for that performance but is improving, so seems capable of following up – will pay to follow his progress
  61. MONA TREZY – Winner of 3 handicaps since September, including a last-start victory on this course over 2700m on 22 November, but has shot up 10kg in total as a result. More questions to answer under these conditions – for another day
  62. BLACK HAWK – Ridden more aggressively than usual in his last 2 starts and acquitted himself well on both occasions, winning a 3000m handicap on this course last month (23 November). Has more to do under a 3kg penalty for that victory
  63. ALERIO – Done little wrong since joining Guillaume Courbot in late October – maintaining form and consistency in claimers and handicaps. Finished 3rd on this course in a 2700m claimer on 7 December and has another place chance
  64. SPANISH LIGHT – A specialist on soft ground so is hard to make a case for in his first start on this course, despite finishing 3rd in a 3000m Toulouse handicap on 24 November. Others preferred
  65. ILUMINE PRECIEUSE – Has found her way on the flat recently after a spell over obstacles, finishing 2nd in back-to-back Quinte+ events on very heavy ground – the latest over 2500m at Saint-Cloud on 27 October. Lack PSF references but is respecetd
  66. SITJAR – Lightly raced late-bloomer whose limits remain unknown. Won consecutive handicaps last month, the latest at Toulouse over 3000m on 24 November – not taken lightly
  67. JAZZMEN – A shadow of his former self recently but has dropped to his last-winning mark and boasts sound references at this level. Well-beaten 12th on a 2350m handicap at Strasbourg on 11 November so is best watched for now
  68. TURANIA – Didn’t go unnoticed (7th) in a 3000m handicap on this course last month (23 November) in his 3rd start back after a 5-month absence. Could get into the picture
  69. KLASSIC PRECIEUX – Confirmed/built on the promise of his encouraging comeback 2nd on turf at this venue in September by winning a course-and-distance handicap on 28 October. On the up so should remain competitive under a 2,5kg penalty
  70. ROSETTA STONE – Finished 4th in a 3200m Quinté+ on PSF at Deauville in August but unplaced in both subsequent starts, the latest over 2500m at that venue on 2 November. Needs to reaffirm
  71. ACT OF WISDOM – Regained his form/momentum recently in 3 handicap appearances, the latest (5th) on this course in a 3000m PSF handicap on 23 November. Has more on his plate at this level
  72. RUSSIAN TWIST – Versatile hard-knocker with sound references/form credentials in handicaps on both surfaces, including 2nds in his last 2 starts – the latest on PSF over 3100m at Pornichet on 13 November. Dark horse
Summary: CHESS (4) made light work of his opposition in a similar event for stayers over this course and distance and 3,5kg penalty seems unlikely to prevent him from following up, even at this level. KLASSIC PRECIEUX (13), an authoritative winner here in late October, and ILUMINE PRECIEUSE (9), who lacks references on PSF, lead the opposition ahead of KAPANI (1), the title holder this race who was undoubtedly prepared to defend his crown. SHELBY (2), RUSSIAN TWIST (16), second in the 2023 edition with 2kg more, and LEMPIRA (3), newcomer to the stable of Edouard Montfort, complete the shortlist.

  73. DAY OFF – Experienced handicapper with sound references/form credentials in handicaps on both surfaces, including a last-start 6th in a 2500m PSF Deauville handicap on 26 November
  74. LA TEMPLIERE – Experienced and versatile mare whose references include finishing 2nd in a turf Quinté+ and a last-start 4th over 3000m in a handicap on this course on 23 November. Big shout
  75. ATHINEOS – Runner-up in a 2200m Quinte+ event on turf at this venue in October and finished 2nd in a 2700m PSF handicap on this course on 22 November. Not taken lightly
  76. WARELIA – Returned to form with a reassuring 2nd in a 3000m PSF handicap on this course recently, on 23 November. Keep safe
  77. YORK TOWN – Versatile hard-knocker with sound references/form credentials in handicaps on PSF and turf, including a last-start 2nd in a 3000m handicap at Fontainebleau on 14 November
  78. STEP MORNING – Ultra-consistent versatile handicapper in good form and physical condition – finished in the first 3 seven times in eight associations with Théo Bachelot, winning twice. Caught the eye when 3rd in a 4000m handicap at Angers on 18 November
  79. ELOISE – Lightly raced filly with scope to improve on her handicap debut after an encouraging 2nd over 2900m in an apprentice event at Angers on 6 November
  80. BRAMESHOT – Versatile type with sound references/form credentials in handicaps on both surfaces, including a last-start victory in a 4000m Angers handicap on 18 November. Dark horse
  81. NASDAQ – Finished 4th in each of his 3 PSF appearances. Showed his form/well-being recently by finishing 2nd in back-to-back claimers, the latest over 2500m at Nancy on 17 November
  82. PLATEADO – Versatile hard-knocker with references in handicaps on both surfaces but out of sorts at present. Unplaced (7th) in a 2000m turf handicap at Toulouse on 17 November
  83. BADEN ROCKS – Versatile hard-knocker maintaining form and consistency in handicaps on both surfaces. Finished 3rd on this course in a 3000m handicap on 23 November – attractive outsider
  84. BARBADIN – Consistent hard-knocker with sound references/form credentials, including a last-start 4th in a course-and-distance handicap on 28 October. On the shortlist
  85. SWEET AUTHOR – Lightly raced 7-year-old unplaced in all 11 appearances this year, the latest (12th) over 3000m in a handicap at Fontainebleau on 14 November
  86. RED JOY – Rejuvenated hard-knocking mare in good form and physical condition – finished 4th in a 2700m handicap on this course and a good 3rd in a course-and-distance handicap on 28 October. Candidate for success
  87. AVENTURA – Improving last-start winner who opened his account recently in a 2500m Nancy claimer on 17 November. Outsider
  88. MAESTRO CHOP – Veteran handicapper who finished 2nd in a 2700m handicap at a lower level on this course on 7 December. For another day
  89. RUE DAUPHINE – Experienced mare with references in turf handicaps but rarely seen on the PSF. Finished 8th in a 2700m handicap on this course on 22 November – others preferred
Summary: With two races in her legs now, LA TEMPLIERE (2) is a legitimate candidate for the prize. RED JOY (14) always finishes his courses well, without managing to return to success. Maybe it’s for today. Currently in good shape, BARBADIN (12) should start fairly heavily in betting. Very hard at work, YORK TOWN (5) should still defend its chances dearly, especially since the change of surface will not bother it.

  105. KARIOITAHI – Finished 12th in a handicap at Lignières over 2000m on 30 November. Better on the turf but might play a minor role
Summary: SWEEP AWAY (12) is clearly better judged on his penultimate start when runner-up over this course and distance. He gets a narrow vote to score in a very open race. RISE AND SHINE (8) has a winning chance if repeating a good last run at Nancy. FITZCARRALDO (9) has had a good time of things at this track and did not run too badly last time out. NEKOLETO (2) is in good form and should be very competitive once again.

  132. QUALIXIA – Did not show her best when 11th at Munch-Riem over 1300m on 12 October. Needs to find a few lengths to beat these rivals
  133. PLACEHOLDER – Has won twice in the UK and was 6th last time out in a handicap at Kempton Park over 2200m on 16 October. Better this distance and has been supplemented for this race
  134. MME JOURDAIN – Very consistent so far and was runner-up last time out in a Conditions race over this course and distance on 12 November. Can go one better this time
Summary: CLAVUS (3) has been at his very best on the turf and he is coming off three nice wins. He returns from a break to try his luck on the PSF and might be good enough to score again. GOLD INDEX (4) also returns from a break but did win well last time out and could be a threat. MME JOURDAIN (13) is very consistent and should be competitive yet again. KOVEL (8) is fit and won over this distance last time out so deserves respect.

Summary: FANDERIK (6) was a pleasing second at Fontainebleau in late November when last seen and can go one better this time. Her main danger could be ZOYA (7) who is a winner on the flat and shaped with promise when sixth at this track over hurdles 6 days ago. He is seeking a hat-trick after a win at Lyon Parilly on October 20th over hurdles. His main threat is BLISSIMO (4) who was back in second when they met 10 days ago and will make things interesting. 1. KNOCKANDO – 8th of 10 finishers, on just 2nd start back, in a 2850m Laval Class F mid-November. Competitively-shod for first objective of the winter and should be good enough to finish in the mix this time
  2. KAYAK – 7th of 11 to KID DE LA BANIO (12) in a 2700m Class F at Le Croisé-Laroche on 25 November. Will be fit by now and makes Vincennes bow with a decent chance of making first 5
  3. KILLER MELOC – Sanctioned in last 3, most recently a 2700m Class F at Le Croisé-Laroche on 25 November, and can expect to have few takers
  4. KINGSTON DU GOSIER – 8th of 11 to KID DE LA BANIO (12) in a 2700m Class F at Le Croisé-Laroche on 25 November. Is not devoid of ability but must first re-establish his credentials
  5. KAPITEN DU MELEUC – Opened his account at Amiens before running 2nd of 8 in a 2550m Reims Class F mid-November. Takes on a better lot this time and chances limited
  6. KANKAL – Good, consistent servant that finished a decent 4th of 9 in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class E last week. Unlikely to win this but will not be far off the mark
  7. KOZMIC BLUES – Runner-up to KIMI DU DOME (10) at Graignes before enduring a tough trip in a Class E over course and distance last week, finishing 10th of 13. Form is not in question and can play a role if Cedric Terry keeps him out of trouble
  8. KING CASH CEKE – Performed well after being sanctioned in a Class E under these conditions on 25 November. Is not the easiest to trust but, with application, should not disappoint
  9. KING LOOK – Serious future prospect making Vincennes debut after running 10th of 14 in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class E 2 weeks ago. Still in conditioning-mode though and best to wait
  10. KIMI DU DOME – Failed to confirm Graignes success when 8th of 14 in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class E 2 weeks ago. Can be excused that run and, if focused, can put things right

  12. KID DE LA BANIO – Ran 3rd at La Capelle before winning a 2700m Class F at Le Croisé-Laroche on 25 November. Plainly back at the top of his game and is in with a shout of repeating
Summary: Winner at Le Croise-Laroche late last month, and just 345 Euros from elimination, KID DE LA BANIO (12) reverts to a previous formula and looks to have a reasonable chance of confirming. Although unplaced last time, KIMI DU DOME (10) has otherwise been in rude health and will be expected to set the record straight. After a much-needed freshener, and unshod-behind for the first time, KAZACHOK (11) has been entrusted to the champion driver and could well win his first since March 2023. KANKAL (6) consistently gives his best and should take well to the new profile.

  14. IBILI DE SALTA – Sanctioned in last 3, latterly a 2800m Strasbourg harness Class F on 25 October. Shoes on and no danger
  15. INFLUENCE – 9th of 10 in a 2725m Graignes harness Class F on 23 November. Not once out of the frame in 5 monté starts and while in very good company this time, should still not be written off
  16. INDIGODARCHE – Runner-up to IQUEM NARCY (14) mid-November before coming 5th of 13 to ISBA DU VIVIER (11) in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Unlikely to spring a surprise but races barefoot and can get a look-in
  17. ISPANO BELLO – Flew up in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class F a month ago. Excellent in 4 of 5 monté starts to date and can make this his own if Mathieu Mottier keeps him trotting

  24. ILLICO DE LOU – Impressive winner of a 3000m Nantes Class G 3.5 weeks ago. Still some way off 2023 form but it would be foolhardy to ignore him
  25. ITALIA JADOR – Would have finished 2nd in a Class D over course and distance a fortnight ago had she stayed in stride. Has otherwise demonstrated good aptitude for the discipline and has the capacity to upset the apple-cart
  26. IQUEM NARCY – Dynamic here mid-November before faulting in a Class D over course and distance 12 days later. Tends to go well here when focused and must be afforded significant respect
  27. IMAIL DE CARSI – Ran 2nd here before suffering interference, subsequently excluded, in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class E last week. 4 pads fitted this time but still no more than a minor place prospect
  28. IDYLLE COPAISE – 7th of 10, when being conditioned, in a 2725m Graignes harness Class E on 23 November. Has won twice over track and trip and, shod to preference, will be competitive for spot in the mix
Summary: Enjoying something of a renaissance this year since returning to the monte code, ISPANO BELLO (5) got straight down to business on re-entry at Mauquenchy and in similar shape will take some beating. That said, the reconfigured IDEAL D’URZY (6) made short work of his ridden debut and, with morale high, can repeat. ILLICO DE LOU (12) sprang a 22/1 surprise at Nantes last time and returns to Paris with a good hand to play. Barring a trio of sanctions, IQUEM NARCY (14) has been superb since early-summer and, if focused, will be no pushover.

  31. LORD DE BANVILLE – Well-beaten before being sanctioned in race of reference and has no possible chance
  32. LORD DES FANES – Showed his form despite being sanctioned in a Class B over track and trip on 30 November. Temperament his own worst enemy but can play a small part if behaved
  33. LOUISON – Honest sort that was unluckily-sanctioned in race of reference. Always gives his best but seems to have too much to do this time
  34. LEADER DU POMMEAU – Would have finished 3rd in race of reference had he not lost his action 100m out. Has bags of untapped potential and will have an important part to play if Gwenn Junod manages to keep him trotting
  35. LAMONT DU DOUET – Serious type that was sanctioned in race of reference, when in the running for a cheque. Has bags of ability and with application could pleasantly surprise
  36. LABEL DE TILLARD – Quickly sanctioned in a 2175m monté Gr.2 here late-November. Here for a change of scenery and will have nothing to offer
  37. LE BILLET VERT – Steps up in category after comfortably winning a Class D over course and distance mid-November. Looks a colt for the future and has the wherewithal to double his money
  38. LUTIN VENESI – Gave a decent account when 3rd of 5 finishers to LORD DELO (11) in a Class B over course and distance on 30 November. Has ground to make up but will be expected to put up some opposition
  39. LORD DELO – Superb winner of a Class B over track and trip on 30 November. Is never far from faulting but with the boss back in the bike, is hard to oppose
  40. LOUP INDIEN – Quality element that won a 2950m Toulouse Class A, with consummate ease, 3 weeks ago. Has no left-handed references but has the quality to do well if he turns
  41. LAUTREC QUICK – 6th of 8 in a Class A over course and distance 3 weeks ago and is not up to the task this time either
  42. LOVER SIXTY ONE – Drops down the class-ladder after running 4th of 12 in a 2850m Gr.3 here on 1 December. Sports pads as he did that day and looks a decent candidate for another first-5 payout
  43. LEWIS RIVER – Won over 2100m before coming 2nd of 7 finishers in a 2175m Class B here on 8 November. Is confirmed over the distance and will not go down easily
Summary: Easy winner over course and distance last month, LE BILLET VERT (9) has earned the right to step up in category and the Duvaldestin team will be justifiably hopeful of a repeat performance. It will not be all plain sailing though given how well LORD DELO (11) dominated proceedings last time out. The well-engaged LEWIS RIVER (15) has taken particularly well to the main-track profile and is very much in the running. Undefeated in the day’s configuration, LOUP INDIEN (12) makes his Vincennes debut with legitimate ambition.

  44. IMPACT SPORT – Disappointing since the break, most recently 8th of 13 behind IMPERATRICE HEDEN (9) in a 3150m Saint-Brieuc Class E last week, and barefoot or not, can be confidently ignored
  45. ICARE D’ACADIE – 3rd to ILUX DU CAUX (13) last month before being sanctioned in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class F 9 days ago. Unlikely to shake things up but with application can get a look-in
  46. INTERACTIVE – 4th under these conditions before finishing 7th of 13 in a 2100m Class E here on 26 November. Will appreciate returning to a longer trip and will be expected to play an active role
  47. INSTINCT D’AUTHISE – Runner-up in last 2, latterly to ILUX DU CAUX (13), in a Class E over course and distance a month ago and, in similar form, can play a leading role
  48. IDEAL RANAIS – Ran 2nd at Saint-Galmier before coming 4th of 13 in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class F last week. Thrives with Jérémy Ozenne and is not about to disappoint
  49. IL PLEUT BERGERE – Showed improvement when 6th of 13 behind IDEAL RANAIS (5) in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class F 9 days ago but still has more to find
  50. IVARUN – Made amends for course-and-distance blip when 3rd of 10 to IDAO NAY (10) in a 2500m Reims Class E mid-November. Unlikely to cause an upset but should nevertheless hold his own
  51. INTELLO D’ERABLE – 10th of 13 in a 3150m Saint-Brieuc Class E last Friday. Returns to racing with pads but would be preferred going right-handed
  52. IMPERATRICE HEDEN – Made up for Caen disqualification when 4th of 13 in a 3150m Saint-Brieuc Class E last week. Has decent references under these conditions and must be respected
  53. IDAO NAY – Fine servant that ran 3rd of 13 in a 2500m Reims Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Makes Vincennes debut in cracking form and has a legitimate chance of imposing
  54. IRMA DU VIVIER – Last of 13 behind INTERACTIVE (3) in a 2100m Class E here on 26 November and has no realistic chance
  55. ICONE PLANCHETTE – Unthreatening when sanctioned in a 2100m Class E here late last month. Front pads fitted and no threat
  56. ILUX DU CAUX – Brilliant winner over track and trip on 12 November before flopping to 10th of 14 in a 2100m Class E here 6 days later. Shoes on this time and can be passed over
  57. ILLICO DE BUSSET – Was being prepared for this when last but one in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class F a month back. Barefoot this time and can finally open his 2024 account
Summary: Third over 2100m here before prepping in the provinces a month ago, ILLICO DE BUSSET (14) enjoys a golden entry and, barefoot for the occasion, looks a serious proposition. Young Cyril Enault will nevertheless be wary of IDAO NAY (10) who has never let the side down when barefoot, and INSTINCT D’AUTHISE (4) who has been lurking lately. IDEAL RANAIS (5) is hard to fault at present and has a realistic chance of making the frame.

  58. KENYA DE DALINE – Has turned a corner since switching codes, most recently 2nd of 6 finishers in a 2750m Cabourg Class F last Saturday. Would be preferred racing clockwise but in present condition is easy to like
  59. KRISTAL DU TRIO – Has not been seen out since coming 6th of 10 in a 2825m Durtal Class F a month back. Races barefoot for monté debut and the Benjamin Rochard-factor cannot be ignored
  60. KEEP CONTROL – Sanctioned, when unsupported on monté debut, in a Class E over track and trip on 15 November. Hind shoes off this time but others still preferred
  61. KEROS DE BEAULIEU – 5th of 12, at 118/1, in a Class E over track and trip on 15 November. Is no slouch on a good day and with Mathieu Mottier aboard will be no easy touch
  62. KENNETH DU CLOS – In the frame in 3 before losing his action in a Class E over course and distance mid-November. Anthony Barrier in the saddle and looks main threat to KING DU RIL (7)
  63. KABOTIN CHENEVIERE – Faulted in a 2450m Caen Class F on 9 November. Has placed just once in 3 monte starts, but with front shoes off and Eric Raffin in the saddle, will generate interest
  64. KING DU RIL – 21 races and still a maiden until winning 2 straight, most recently a 2850m Mauquenchy Class F 3 weeks ago, and looks eminently capable of securing the 3-timer
  65. KABOBBY SANT – 10th of 13 in a 2700m harness Class E at La Capelle a month ago. Has little love for Vincennes and can be ruled out
  66. KEEPSAKE – Makes just 2nd appearance under the saddle having easily won a 2700m Graignes harness Class F a month ago. Clearly in excellent shape and will have his chances if form transitions
Summary: Simply sterling since returning to the monté code, KING DU RIL (7) takes his first steps in the capital with Paul Ploquin in the irons and has every chance of securing the hat-trick. More than capable at this level, KENNETH DU CLOS (5) has a race under his belt since the spell and can apply the pressure if focused. Recent Graignes winner KEEPSAKE (9) sports a fresh configuration for his return to the code and must be considered a major player.

  67. HERMES DU DOMAINE – 2nd of 10 in a 2725m Graignes Class F on 2 November. Currently enjoying a fine run of form, boasts solid amateur references, and is unlikely to be far off the mark
  68. IN TO MARANCOURT – Got straight down to business on return from a spell when winning a 2850m Mauquenchy Class F at 61/1 2.5 weeks ago. Is behind in earnings and from the 2-spot can wrap this up
  69. GET READY – 8th of 15 in a 3125m Angers Class E a month ago. Races barefoot this time, enjoys a good place behind the car and, given his record in the amateur category, can finish in the mix
  70. HELSA DE LA ROCHE – Has turned a corner since starting to race barefoot, latterly winning a 2675m Bordeaux Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Could not have asked for a better draw and although no fan of Vincennes, her form is hard to ignore
  71. GO GARFIELD – 2nd at La Rochelle before finishing an oddly-lacklustre 6th of 13 in a 2825m Vire amateurs Class G on 1 November. Has been handed a good draw and can put things right
  72. IPOCALYPSE LOVE – Failed to confirm good run at La Capelle when sanctioned in a 2700m Class E here a month back. Has never delivered at this level though and others preferred
  73. INES D’ATOUT – Debuts in the amateur division after running 6th of 11 in a 2200m Class F at Salon-de-Provence 2.5 weeks ago. Faces a more reasonable task this time, sports modified shoeing, and from front row can get in on the action
  74. ICARE DE LA DORETE – Makes first appearance since finishing 7th of 13 in a 2875m Enghien claimer on 10 October. Shoes on for comeback and not a priority
  75. ISKOYA – Set her personal best of 1’12″2 when 3rd of 13 in a Class E over course and distance late last month and can play a leading role if her driver successfully navigates the start
  76. HUTA JAZZ – Pleasant 5th at Mauquenchy before finishing last of 11 in a 2625m Cherbourg Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Fitted with 4 pads this time but still not an obvious choice
  77. IMPALA PARK – Won a Class E at La Capelle before running 4th of 12 behind IPOCALYPSE LOVE (6) in a 2750m Class F at same venue on 3 November. Has never disappointed in this category and despite the draw, looks a major player
  78. GLAXO LEMAN – 5th of 11 in a 2850m amateurs Class F over the inner course a fortnight ago. Has decent form in this category but in this company will struggle to make his mark
  79. GENIALE STAR – Sanctioned in last 2, most recently a 2850m Mauquenchy amateurs Class G a fortnight ago, and will have nothing to offer
  80. HAVANA MOST – Won a 2600m Nancy Class F late last month. Races shod this time though and best to hold off
  81. INDIANAPOLIS – Runner-up at Reims before coming 3rd of 12 in a 2725m Cabourg Class E late-October. Won her only amateur start and is not incapable of keeping that perfect record intact
  82. FIZZ SAINT GERMAIN – Honest mare with decent amateur credentials but will need to improve on recent 9th of 13 behind GO GARFIELD (5) in a 2825m Vire amateurs Class G on 1 November
Summary: Winner of 2 of his last 3, most recently in the professional ranks, IN TO MARANCOURT (2) is well-positioned on the front line and looks set to continue his productive ways. He will however be up against the tough ISKOYA (9) who will be dangerous if Benjamin Marie positions her early, and 2nd-line starter IMPALA PARK (11) whose current form stands him in good stead. INDIANAPOLIS (15) didn’t win the draw-lottery either but she is plainly close to her race and is not to be underestimated.

  83. MAESTRO DE L’AUMOY – Has not been seen out since faulting on debut in a 2825m Class F at Le Croise-Laroche mid-October. Has had time to recalibrate and the engagement of Eric Raffin will only enhance his chances
  84. MISTRAL DU REGENCY – Showed improvement when 4th of 9 in a 2400m Chateaubriant Class E on 1 December but still has more to find
  85. MERCURIUS DUCAMPUS – Confirmed good qualification with victory on debut, easily winning a 2550m Reims Class E 2.5 weeks ago. In marginally better company this time, and races left-handed, but has the ability to bring the fight to MACHUCAMBO (4)
  86. MACHUCAMBO – Close 2nd of 6 in a 2175m Class D here on 26 November. Is a colt of significant potential and Mathieu Mottier will be eager to capitalise on this good opportunity
  87. MARQUETY DE BAILLY – 3rd of 6 finishers behind MACHUCAMBO (4) in a 2175m Class D here late last month after having come 5th over course and distance, but is not about to spring any surprises
  88. MY NAME IS BOND – 4th over course and distance before finishing 7th of 10 in a 2100m Class C here just over 3 weeks ago. Cannot be considered a priority but in this small field can make first 5
  89. MANHATTAN ROUSSAC – Decent 4th of 9 in a 2100m claimer here last week but in this category will have little to contribute
  90. MARZIPAN – Got off the mark at Cabourg before running 8th of 12 in a 2700m Class B here late last month. Inner track profile should suit him better and redemption anticipated
Summary: Beaten only by a very good horse over the main track late last month, MACHUCAMBO (4) moves to the inner course this time and is in with a realistic chance of losing his maiden status. Winner first time out, MERCURIUS DUCAMPUS (3) looks a colt ready for Vincennes and will be no soft touch. MARZIPAN (8) will be more at ease under these conditions and will be competitive for a place on the podium.

  92. LATIKA SAUTREUIL – Sanctioned in a 2150m Mauquenchy Class G 2.5 weeks ago. Out of her league for ridden debut and can be passed over
  93. L’IMPERIALE AR – Sanctioned, on first start since the spell, in a 2825m Cordemais Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Never easy to gauge but has potential and the engagement of Mathieu Mottier will do her prospects no disservice
  94. LUARIA – Surprise 2nd of 13 in a 2400m Amiens harness Class F on 1 November. Adrien Lamy gets the nod for her ridden debut and can pick up some crumbs if she keeps trotting
  95. LALMERIA FILO – Reassuring 2nd of 10 in a 2850m Parilly harness Class G on 1 November. Makes ridden bow but is unlikely to have many friends
  96. LIV QUESNOT – Improving sort making ridden bow after coming 2nd of 9 in a 2550m Bordeaux harness Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Front shoes on again and looks a player first time in the capital
  97. LADY DU PAOU – Makes just 2nd appearance under the saddle after having been sanctioned in a 2125m Grenade harness Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Hind pads fitted this time but is still taking on too much
  98. LOGE D’ERABLE – Has turned a corner since switching codes, most recently 2nd of 7 finishers in a 2700m Graignes Class F a month ago. Is plainly on the way up and can finally get that maiden monkey off her back
  99. LIGHT UP ONE – Runner-up in first 2 this term before faulting in a 2750m Cabourg Class E last Saturday. Reunited with Benjamin Rochard and should be good enough to contest the finish
  100. LAYLA SONIA – Takes first competitive ridden steps after finishing 6th of 8 in a Class E over track and trip 3 weeks ago. Has evident ability and the change of code may be just what the doctor ordered. First 5
  101. LEVADIA – Never-threatening when excluded in a 2575m Saint-Brieuc Class E last Friday and will struggle to make her presence felt
  102. LYXIE KNIGHT – Has demonstrated decent aptitude for the discipline, latterly 4th of 8 in a Class E over course and distance mid-November. Will have found her feet by now and can challenge for victory this time
  103. LA COMTESSE MADRIK – Switches code for first time after being sanctioned early in a 2850m Class E over the short track 2 weeks ago. Is not without merit but with shoes on is unlikely to influence the result
Summary: Reinvigorated since moving over to the ridden discipline, LOGE D’ERABLE (8) sports 4 pads for the first time and can make her Vincennes debut a winning one. Aurélien Desmarres will still be keeping a keen eye on LYXIE KNIGHT (12) who has shown potential in this branch of the business, and the progressive LIGHT UP ONE (9) who will have her chances if she turns. LIV QUESNOT (6) has improved with every run since the break and debuts under the saddle with a good hand to play.
