R1 VINCENNES [L-H]

C1 – PRIX DE LENS – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class D Race – Mounted – EUR € 46,000

  1. JOBOURG MESLOIS – Won at Strasbourg before running 4th of 8 in a 2200m Class E here late last month. Faces a better bunch this time however and chances limited
  2. MERCEDES STAR – Opened ridden account at Wolvega early-November before faulting over 2100m at the same venue next time, but is barefoot on this occasion, with Mathieu Mottier aboard, and can play an important part
  3. JAGUAR DE VILLETOT – Pleasantly surprising 4th of 11 in a 2175m Class E here on 11 December. Is plainly on way back up and will generate some interest
  4. JACK BARROW – Back in the code after coming 4th of 14 in a 2100m harness Class D here on 25 November. Did run 3rd in Gr.1 Saint-Léger des Trotteurs in 2022 though and, sporting modified shoeing, can get in on the action
  5. JAGUAR DE KARA – 2nd to JACARANDA (11) on monté debut before being sanctioned in a 2100m harness Class D when prepping for this earlier this month. Paul Ploquin back in the saddle and looks a major player
  6. NATURAL MINE – Makes ridden bow after running 3rd of 8 under harness over 1640m at Romme late last month. Westholm-trained runners in cracking form at present and must be taken seriously
  7. JAG ROYAL – Won 2 of last 4, latterly a harness Class E over course and distance. Gets on well with his jockey and, if form transitions, he should be in a position to challenge for the spoils
  8. JOCE JISCE – Lacklustre 5th of 7 finishers, a place behind JAZZY THOURJAN (10), in a Class D under these conditions 3 weeks ago, and can be confidently ruled out
  9. JACK SURPRISE – Last but one in a 2100m harness Class D here on 6 December. Sanctioned on lone appearance in the code, but sports modified shoeing for the occasion and should not be written off
  10. JAZZY THOURJAN – Flattering 4th of 7 finishers in a Class D under these conditions 3 weeks ago and is not about to create an upset
  11. JACARANDA – Won twice over course and distance lately, most recently a Class D with authority a month ago, and considering the entry, should be able to wrap this up
    Summary: Transformed since moving yards earlier in the year, JACARANDA (11) returns on a course-and-distance hat-trick and looks eminently capable of pulling it off. JAGUAR DE KARA (5) ran 2nd to him on his monte debut that day and, reconfigured, can again get in on the action, but may first have to defer to the good JAG ROYAL (7) who is primed for a return to the discipline. Swedish visitor, NATURAL MINE (6) debuts at Vincennes, and under the saddle, but has been entrusted to Alexandre Abrivard who will be looking to capitalise on his charge’s current form.

  12. LA DIVA SUPREME – Tricky but talented filly that lost her action in 12 December race of reference. Is better than most here on a good day though and, if focused, can get back in the game
  13. LEDA MESLOISE – Placed twice over track and trip before being sanctioned early in race of reference. Steps up in category but sports hind pads this time and will not be far off the mark if Eric Raffin assures her initial strides
  14. LOLITA BOURBON – 6th of 11 behind LAMIE DU MESNIL (4) in a Class B over course and distance on 13 December. Sports 4 pads this time but has been deserted by Eric Raffin and not a priority
  15. LAMIE DU MESNIL – 4th of 11 in a Class B over course and distance on 13 December. Has started to make progress but still represents no more than a minor place prospect
  16. LILI DRY – 7th of 11 behind LAMIE DU MESNIL (4) in a Class B over course and distance on 13 December and will have few friends
  17. LAURELINA – Ran 2nd under these conditions before coming 5th in race of reference. At this level though, may struggle to make her presence felt
  18. LIPANGA DE GUEZ – Last but one behind LITTLE WINGS (11) in a Class A over track and trip a month ago and can be confidently passed over
  19. LARA CROFT – Tenacious winner of an Argentan Class A last month before running 10th of 12 behind LARA DU GOUTIER (10) in a 2850m Gr.3 here 3 weeks ago. Is plainly better than that and can set the record straight
  20. LOVELY DU VALLON – Course-and-distance winner early-November before finishing an oddly-lacklustre 10th of 12 behind LITTLE WINGS (11) in a Class A over track and trip a month ago, but will be expected to bounce back and make amends
  21. LARA DU GOUTIER – Put in a decent effort against the colts to run 5th of 12 in a 2850m Gr.3 here 3 weeks ago. Back among her own sex this time and will be no easy touch
  22. LITTLE WINGS – Fine 3rd of 12 in a 2700m Class A here, on comeback, a month ago. Has been afforded time to recover and is thoroughly capable of winning this time
    Summary: Just 325 Euros from elimination and impressive on her recent re-entry, LITTLE WINGS (11) will have progressed for the run and tackles this shorter trip with a decent chance of bringing home the bacon. Unplaced that day after enduring a tough trip, LOVELY DU VALLON (9) has excellent credentials to fall back on and looks the principal danger. Racing at a more reasonable level after being outrun in a Gr.3, LARA CROFT (8) has the wherewithal to finish close, as does LARA DU GOUTIER (10) who drops a rung of the category-ladder.

  24. HONNEUR DU CEBE – Opened his monté account at Chartres late-November before finishing 11th of 13 in a harness Class D over track and trip 9 days ago. In this company though, looks out of his depth
  25. HEVA BLONDE – Sports 4 pads for first time after being sanctioned in a Class D over course and distance on 10 December and others easier to back
  26. ISLAMORADA – Won 2 in a row here before coming 2nd of 8 in a 2175m Class D here mid-November, setting personal best time, and is arguably the only one capable of giving LUCKY GUY BOKO (6) a run for his money
  27. ICARE DU LEARD – Ran 3rd over 2175m before comfortably winning a Class D over course and distance 12 days ago. Moves up a level but is clearly progressing and can challenge for a place on the podium
  28. LUCKY GUY BOKO – Brilliant winner of a 2175m Class D on ridden bow here on 17 November. Has been a class act since moving to France and is in with a realistic shout of doubling his money
  29. INDIAN PACIFIC – Exceptional under harness since the summer, most recently 2nd of 14 in a Class E over course and distance. Has yet to distinguish himself in the code but in current form has every chance of beginning the process
    Summary: Seldom are there so few declared for a race like this but it looks a good one all the same. LUCKY GUY BOKO (6), who has made a name for himself in the harness game, simply stormed up on his recent ridden debut and even though moving up a category, he still looks the one to beat. Mathieu Mottier will still bee keeping a keen eye on the barefoot ISLAMORADA (4) who boasts an excellent monte record at Vincennes, and INDIAN PACIFIC (7) who returns to the discipline reconfigured and in cracking form.

  31. EAST ASIA – 4th in Gr.1 Grand Prix de l’UET before dominating over 1640m in Rome on 16 November. Bjorn Goop in the bike this time and from the 2-spot can make this her own
  32. KEEP GOING – Finished 11th of 13 behind KEENAN DE JOUDES (18) in 2700m Gr.2 Prix Octave Douesnel here a fortnight ago. Goes barefoot this time and can make a big splash
  33. EXECUTIV EK – Comfortable winner over 2100m in Rome mid-November. Classy Italian colt with decent Vincennes form, has a lot going for him here and must not be underestimated
  34. CROWN (USA) – Beaten only by a good 3yo over 1640m at Solvalla late last month. Won Sprintermästaren (equivalent to Swedish Hambletonian) earlier in the year and from the 5-spot can set the cat among the pigeons
  35. NINETTA BOKO – Well-travelled filly that ran 3rd of 14 to KOKOTE (13) in 2700m Gr.2 Prix Ariste Hemard here 2 weeks ago. Takes a big step up in class and even with JMB in the bike still looks no more than a minor place prospect
  36. EDY GIRIFALCO GIO – Serious Italian colt that finished runner-up to EXECUTIV EK (4) over 2100m in Rome mid-November. 2nd chance for the Gocciadoro stable but appears to have too much to do
  37. KILMISTER – Quality Swedish visitor that could manage no better than 10th of 13 behind KEENAN DE JOUDES (18) in 2700m Gr.2 Prix Octave Douesnel here 2 weeks ago. Breaks wide and cannot be considered dangerous
  38. KANA DE BEYLEV – Missed the start but still ran 2nd of 14 to KOKOTE (13) in Gr.2 Prix Ariste Hemard over 2700m here a fortnight ago. Benjamin Rochard would have preferred a better draw and, even against the colts, must be respected
  39. KYRIELLE – 10th of 14 to KOKOTE (13) in Gr.2 Prix Ariste Hemard over 2700m here a fortnight ago and, padded this time, can be confidently passed over
  40. KRISTAL JOSSELYN – Off the boil since winning Gr.2 Prix Phaeton over 2100m in Rome mid-November, latterly last but one in Gr.2 Prix Octave Douesnel a fortnight ago and, barefoot or not, can be ruled out
  41. KATINKA DU MOUCHEL – 7th of 14 to KOKOTE (13) in Gr.2 Prix Ariste Hemard over 2700m here a fortnight ago. Appears to be some way off last winter’s form and chances appear limited
  42. KOKOTE – Opened her black-type account when comfortably winning 2700m Gr.2 Prix Ariste Hemard here 7 December. Pitted against the boys this time and the draw will do her no favours
  43. GLOBAL ETALON – Capable nordic colt that ran 6th of 12 over 3140m in Gothenburg on 13 November. Races barefoot but still has considerably more to find
  44. KARLITO – Gr.1-placed colt that ran 2nd of 9 in a 2850m Laval Class A mid-November. Is barefoot this time, consistently gives his best, and is unlikely to go home empty-handed
  45. KSAR – 8th of 13 behind KEENAN DE JOUDES (18) when preparing for this in 2700m Gr.2 Prix Octave Douesnel here 2 weeks ago. Has never disappointed when barefoot and despite a shocking draw can play an important role
  46. KHAL’S FELLA – Won a Gr.3 over track and trip last month before finishing 3rd of 13, a place behind KEENAN DE JOUDES (18), in 2700m Gr.2 Prix Octave Douesnel here 2 weeks ago. Poor draw but still merits attention
  47. KEENAN DE JOUDES – Colt with bags of talent, latterly 2nd of 13 in 2700m Gr.2 Prix Octave Douesnel here a fortnight back. Always gives his best but from 18-spot may find this a tough test
    Summary: With success in this race comes a ticket to the Prix d’Amérique and EAST ASIA (2), who has won 5 of his last 6, has been handed a good draw and can expect the lion’s share of support. Critérium des 4 Ans winner, KEEP GOING (3) races barefoot after having prepped in the Gr.2 Prix Octave Douesnel a fortnight ago and the draw will only work in his favour. 5th that day, KOCTEL DU DAIN (1) has nothing to prove at this level and barefoot for the occasion will be expected to finish close. The good EXECUTIV EK (4) returns to Paris on a hat-trick and racing barefoot with Eric Raffin in the bike for the first time, may yet prove the joker in the pack.

  49. KAID MARTIN – Quality element that ran 7th of 11 in a 2700m Class D when being conditioned here on 19 November. Has a lot going for him this time and has a realistic chance of imposing
  50. KNOX JENILOU – 3rd of 11 in a 2700m Class E here 3 weeks ago. Has adapted well to the new profile and will be expected to contest the finish
  51. KRACKER PIYA – Useful sort that ran 2nd of 13 in a 2200m Class D here late-October. Has been afforded ample time to get back in costume and from the 4-spot is unlikely to disappoint
  52. KISS YOU PIYA – In the frame in last 2, latterly 3rd of 13 in a Class E over course and distance on 4 November. Comes here fresh, enjoys a fine draw, and considering his speed, must be regarded a contender
  53. KEOPS DU BUHOT – Finally got off the mark for 2024 when successful in a 2725m Graignes Class E a month back. Races first-time barefoot but still seems to be facing a tough ask
  54. KING SUN DRALIAM – Has done nothing but improve lately, most recently 2nd of 12 in a 2850m Class E here mid-November. Takes on better this time but enjoys a good entry and should not be far from the action
  55. KRYSTAL DU RUEL – Tricky sort that imposed at Caen but failed to deliver when sanctioned in a 2700m Class D here on 19 November. Sports a fresh configuration and can pick up some crumbs if he deigns to keep trotting
  56. KOPECK DE CHENU – Drops in category after finishing 8th of 11, a place behind KAID MARTIN (2), in a 2700m Class D here on 19 November. Just hind shoes off this time but the draw will do him no favours
  57. KEEPSAKE MOSSA – Put a pair of sanctions behind him to finish 6th of 10 in a 2850m Class E here 12 days ago but still has more to find
  58. KROSS FINGERS – Won over the inner course before finishing last but one in a 2700m Class E here last Wednesday. Trainer considers it a minor blip and backs up with a decent chance of making first 5
  59. KAID DEL GREEN – Easy winner of a 2400m Amiens Class E mid-November. Has never shown any liking for the main track though and others preferred
  60. KANGOUROU – Modest trotter that was sanctioned in a 2700m claimer here 9 days ago and has no possible chance
  61. KRICK DU GUESCLIN – Not without merit but sanctioned in last 3, latterly a 2700m Class E here on Wednesday, and is unlikely to shake things up
    Summary: Decently-placed behind the car, proven over course and distance, KAID MARTIN (2) has 3 runs under his belt and, racing barefoot with Eric Raffin reining, can get back to winning ways. More reliable but still a handful on occasion, KNOX JENILOU (3) has taken a liking to the Vincennes profile and will have his chances. KISS YOU PIYA (5) just beat her here early last month and should again figure prominently, as should the returning KENNEDY FRANCE (1) who is barefoot for the occasion.

  64. WORKING CLASS HERO – Quality nordic import that has won 3 from 4 at Vincennes, latterly a 2100m Gr.3 in style here last weekend. Is proven at a superior level and looks competitive for a place in the frame
  65. JEWELCANDLE FAC – Useful mare that would have finished 3rd in a Gr.3 over course and distance a fortnight ago had she not faulted. Has won a Gr.2 under these conditions and although not a priority can still get a look-in
  66. JANGO VICI – Honest trotter that ran 3rd of 10 to JOUMBA DE GUEZ (9) in 2700m Gr.3 Prix de Chenonceaux here a month ago. 5th in Critérium des 5 Ans during the autumn and is unlikely to be far from the action
  67. JAKARTAS DES PRES – Ran 5th in a Toulouse Gr.3 before finishing 9th of 12 in a 2850m Gr.2 here 3 weeks ago. Shoes back on and poses no threat
  68. BENGAN – Produced a good effort to finish 2nd of 10 to JOUMBA DE GUEZ (9) in 2700m Gr.3 Prix de Chenonceaux here a month ago. Unlikely to repeat but can still pick up some prizemoney
  69. JAZZMAN DEBAILLEUL – 3rd in Prix Marcel Laurent before running 4th of 10 to JOUMBA DE GUEZ (9) in 2700m Gr.3 Prix de Chenonceaux here a month ago. Has had time to freshen up and, dynamic in the day’s configuration, must not be underestimated

  72. JUSTIN BOLD – Defied her 13/1 to run close 2nd of 6 in 2850m Gr.2 Prix Doynel de Saint-Quentin 3 weeks ago. Has solid references at the highest level and in current form is easy to like for the win
  73. JUNINHO DRY – Disappointing last of 6, behind JUSTIN BOLD (11), in 2850m Gr.2 Prix Doynel de Saint-Quentin 3 weeks ago. Races barefoot this time but still not an obvious choice
  74. JUST LOVE YOU – Serious mare that ran 10th of 15 in 2850m Gr.2 Prix du Bourbonnais here a fortnight ago. Barefoot for just 2nd time in her career and will be expected to apply the pressure on JUSTIN BOLD (11)
    Summary: Second Prix d’Amérique ticket on the line this afternoon in what looks a particularly open affair following 3 high-profile defections. Barefoot this time, JUSTIN BOLD (11) put in a fine effort to run 2nd to the absent Jushua Tree in the Gr.2 Prix Doynel de Saint-Quentin late last month and a similar performance would see him prevail. He will however be pitted against Prix de Bretagne fourth, JUST LOVE YOU (13) who has already punched her ticket to the Amérique, and a barefoot JOUMBA DE GUEZ (9) who secured a pair of harness Gr.3s before running 2nd in the Gr.1 Prix Bilibili under the saddle over course and distance a week ago. Particularly fond of the main track, WORKING CLASS HERO (3) made it 2 for 2 this winter when dominating a Gr.3 here recently and steps back up in class with a good hand to play.

  77. JERICHO D’ORGERES – Raced better in a 2700m Class F at Le Croise-Laroche last Monday than his 6th of 12 would suggest. Is not a priority but has every chance of getting a look-in
  78. JOKER DE VOUEDE – Last of 12 when preparing for this in a 2500m Reims Class F a month back. Is no slouch on a good day, and races barefoot this time, but must first reaffirm
  79. JOYAUX DES ILES – Unexceptional trotter that was sanctioned in a 2600m Parilly Class F 3 weeks ago and has never delivered at Vincennes. Disregard
  80. JULIUS BERRY – Encouraged in 2 at Mauquenchy before being sanctioned in a 2850m Class E at Le Mans last Monday and will have a mountain to climb this time
  81. JOW PIQUENARD – Placed at Saint-Brieuc before running 7th of 14 to JADOU DU LUPIN (13) in a 3000m Chateaubriant Class F 3 weeks ago, and others easier to back
  82. JABIRU BOY – Had just taken the lead when sanctioned in a Class E over course and distance 3 weeks ago, but thrives with Eric Raffin who will be eager to set the record straight
  83. JACKSON HAUFOR – Lost his action in a Class E under these conditions 3 weeks ago. Is not devoid of ability though and will be no easy touch if David Thomain keeps him focused
  84. JEFF DE MONPAZ – Won 4 in a row prior to coming 3rd of 15 in a 2400m Beaumont Class F 3 weeks ago. Faces a stiffer test here but has been reconfigured for the occasion and warrants respect
  85. JEROMINUS TURGOT – Oddly out of sorts when 6th of 13 in a 2850m Le Mans Class E last Monday but is plainly in form and his trainer takes over in the bike. Place chance
  86. JUNIOR DU CHATELET – Handy sort that ran 3rd of 14 to JADOU DU LUPIN (13) in a 3000m Chateaubriant Class F 3 weeks ago. Has no Vincennes references but in current form will be good enough to pick up a cheque
  87. JADOU DU LUPIN – Comfortable winner of a 3000m Chateaubriant Class F on 1 December. Is new to the venue but is just 195 Euros from elimination and looks a serious proposition
    Summary: Sanctioned when full of running here late last month, JABIRU BOY (8) has nonetheless won 3 times for Eric Raffin and can repeat if his charge deigns to stay in stride. Ideally-entered here and winner at Chateaubriant last time out, JADOU DU LUPIN (13) will be dangerous if focused. Similarly sanctioned in his last 2, JACKSON HAUFOR (9) has nothing to prove in this category but the result will depend on his temperament. In the frame in 3 of his last 4, JEROMINUS TURGOT (11) will be expected to make up for his Le Mans blip.

  92. IZZIE D’ERONVILLE – Terribly unlucky when 11th of 13 in a 3150m Saint-Brieuc Class E on 6 December after enduring traffic problems. Form is not in question though and from the front line can win this
  93. INTERACTIVE – Unexceptional 7th of 12 behind IL PLEUT BERGERE (11) in a 2700m Class E here 10 days ago and can be passed over

SEMEUR (5) could be the one that makes the selection work hard. She seems to like this track and trip and was a decent second two starts ago on November 30th when beaten by RIVER DAVEN (1) that day who is penalised for that and will find it more difficult but can not be ignored. MONDAINAI (4) heads the rest.
