French Selections Sunday 29th

R1 VINCENNES [L-H]

C1 – PRIX D’ESTISSAC – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class E Race – Mounted – EUR € 35,000

  1. KUEEN DES CHARMES – Debuts under the saddle after being sanctioned in a harness Class F at Le Croise-Laroche on 16 December and has no realistic chance
  2. KABRELLA – Sanctioned in a Class F over track and trip on 6 December. Has bags of ability though and, with application, will be no easy touch
  3. KALYPSO DU CAUX – Got off the mark at Reims before coming 3rd of 10 finishers, some distance behind KEILA TREMBLADAISE (10), in a Class F over course and distance on 6 December, but can still pick up some prizemoney
  4. KANA DE SUCE – 7th of 10 finishers, some distance behind KEILA TREMBLADAISE (10), in a Class F over course and distance on 6 December, and can be confidently passed over
  5. KARINE DU DOLLAR – Made it 4 sanctions in a row when faulting in a Class E over course and distance 3 weeks ago. Has yet to finish a monte race unscathed but has been reconfigured, will be partnered by Alexis Collette, and must be respected
  6. KARA DU FER – Looked very ordinary when last of 9 in a 2825m Chartres Class F on 26 November and is not about to influence the outcome
  7. KRISTINA DU CLOS – 6th of 7 when prepping for this in a 2800m Pontchateau harness Class F a week ago. Barefoot this time and although not a contender, is still worth retaining for a minor place payout
  8. KALIE DU BLEQUIN – Unraced since finishing 6th of 8 in a Class D under these conditions 2 months ago. Is barefoot for re-entry though and with some luck in running, can get a look-in
  9. KISS ME JIHEM – 5th of 14 to KAVIASE (12) on monte debut before running 8th of 11 in a harness Class E under these conditions 3 weeks ago, and is unlikely to disturb the status quo
  10. KEILA TREMBLADAISE – Imposed at Caen before coming close 2nd of 10 finishers in a Class F over course and distance on 6 December and looks principal threat to KAVIASE (12)
  11. KELLY CHALEONNAISE – 12th of 14 when preparing for this in a 3150m Saint-Brieuc harness Class F on 6 December. Reunited with Eric Raffin who has already delivered with her and must be considered a decent place prospect
  12. KAVIASE – Made short work of a Class E over course and distance, on first public start in the discipline, on 12 November. Comes here fresh and confirmation anticipated
  13. KIVIANA – Reassuring 3rd of 6 finishers in a 2950m Le Mans Class E mid-month. Front pads fitted again and must not be overlooked
Summary: KAVIASE (12) made no bones about getting off the mark at the first time of asking under the saddle and a similar effort would see her double up. Leading the opposition, KEILA TREMBLADAISE (10) has turned a corner lately and should again finish close, while KABRELLA (2) will be dangerous if Andréa Roussel manages to keep her trotting. Yet to disappoint in the day’s configuration, KELLY CHALEONNAISE (11) goes well for Eric Raffin who will be determined to improve on last month’s course-and-distance performance.
    SELECTIONS
    KAVIASE (12) – KEILA TREMBLADAISE (10) – KABRELLA (2) – KELLY CHALEONNAISE (11)
    C2 – PRIX RMC (PRIX DE SERRIGNY) – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 35,000
  14. LYRIC – Has improved with every run recently, lastly 4th of 8 in a 3000m Nantes Class G a fortnight ago, but has been handed a stiff task this time
  15. LILIE D’OMAHA – Tricky but useful filly starting for first time since faulting in a Class E under these conditions on 20 September. Shod on this occasion though and best to wait
  16. LADY STARLIGHT – Pleasant 7th of 14 behind LOLA DU MESNIL (7) in a 2200m Le Mans Class E a fortnight ago. Has shown significant promise and can make her Vincennes debut a winning one
  17. LUCCIANA HAUFOR – 5th here before finishing 8th of 13 behind LEXOVIENNE (10) in a 2200m Class E here on 11 December. Will be more at ease over the main track and can play a small part
  18. LADY D’ELFE – Back under harness after faulting in a monte Class E over course and distance on 25 November. Disregard
  19. LEIRIA – Has acquitted herself well so far, most recently running 4th of 10 in a 2175m Class E here a month ago, and has a respectable chance of making first 5 once more
  20. LOLA DU MESNIL – Honest filly that ran 3rd of 14 in a 2200m Class E at Le Mans mid-month. Is no spoiler but always gives her best and should at least hold her own
  21. LA NUIT JE MENS – In the frame in last 2, latterly 3rd of 12 in a 2400m Amiens Class E 3 weeks ago. Is not far off losing her maiden tag and the new configuration can make all the difference
  22. LUNA HAUFOR – Has won 2 of 4, most recently a 2850m Laval Class F 3 weeks ago. In better company this time but still looks a serious proposition
  23. LEXOVIENNE – Surprise 6th of 13 in a 2200m Class E here 2.5 weeks ago and a repeat seems improbable
  24. LOKIE KADESH – Never pushed once denied a run, coming last but one behind LEXOVIENNE (10) in a 2200m Class E here on 11 December, but can play a leading role if she is kept out of trouble
  25. LA PERLE RARE – Held back for this after winning a 2800m Class E at Castéra-Verduzan mid-October. Could not have asked for a better entry and looks competitive for a payout
Summary: After a much-needed return run at Le Mans a fortnight ago, LADY STARLIGHT (3) races padded for her Vincennes bow and considering the potential she has shown, the race is hers for the taking. LUNA HAUFOR (9) moves up a class after winning at Laval and Damien Bonne takes over in the bike. LA NUIT JE MENS (8) has been progressing nicely and, first-time padded, can finish close. LOKIE KADESH (11) was very unlucky here earlier in the month and Philippe Daugeard will be motivated to set the record straight.
    SELECTIONS
    LADY STARLIGHT (3) – LUNA HAUFOR (9) – LA NUIT JE MENS (8) – LOKIE KADESH (11)
    C3 – PRIX DE BOUVRON – 2850m (a2m) – Class D Race – Mounted – EUR € 59,000
  26. ELIXIR – Useful sort but disappointing in last 3, latterly sanctioned in a 2200m Class D here 9 days ago, and must get his house in order
  27. ALONE (SWE) – Has ridden form at home in Sweden but will need to improve on his 8th of 10 behind GILBERTO (10) in a 2200m harness Class D at Salon-de-Provence on 24 November
  28. GLOSSY BOY – 5th of 13, a place behind FITZY DE VIVE (8), in a 2550m Bordeaux harness Class D 3 weeks ago. Has solid references in the code and the 10kg allowance can go a long way here
  29. ENDIAN DE BANVILLE – Unremarkable character returning to the discipline after finishing 7th of 8 in a 2600m Parilly harness Class D on 14 December, and has no possible chance
  30. FLASH DU BIWETZ – Last of 7 finishers behind GOUTIER CELESTE (11) in a Class D over course and distance mid-month and is not about to shake things up
  31. GRIGRI DU BONHEUR – Takes first competitive ridden steps after finishing last but one in a 2650m Vivaux harness Class C 2.5 weeks ago. Is particularly competitive in this configuration and must not be overlooked
  32. FARCEUR ACE – Last but one behind GOUTIER CELESTE (11) in a Class D over course and distance mid-month and still looks out of his depth
  33. FITZY DE VIVE – Back under the saddle after coming 5th of 12 in a 2925m Cagnes harness Class D last weekend. Produced a fine performance last time here and leading jockey aboard this time
  34. FERRERO DU LOISIR – Lost his action, when unsupported, in a Class D over course and distance a fortnight ago. Has been proving temperamental recently and, even though reconfigured, others still easier to trust
  35. GILBERTO – 7th of 13 in a 2550m Bordeaux harness Class D on 17 December. Just hind shoes off this time but nevertheless debuts in the discipline with limited prospects
  36. GOUTIER CELESTE – Imposed on comeback before running 2nd to a very good horse in a Class D over course and distance mid-month and looks the pick of the field
  37. FRANCEVILLE – Out of the picture in last 3, most recently last of 13 in a 2550m Bordeaux harness Class D on 17 December, and can expect to have few friends
  38. FOGO PICO – Goes barefoot for first time under the saddle after coming 10th of 12 in a 2100m harness Class D here 3 weeks ago. Cannot be considered a player but has the wherewithal to play a small role
  39. EXCELLENT DAY – Has done nothing of note under the saddle for almost 3 years and his latest 2850m Mauquenchy harness Class D sanction does nothing to inspire confidence
  40. FIRST GEDE – Quickly sanctioned on re-entry in a 3000m Nantes Class D early-November. Races barefoot this time, with Eric Raffin aboard, and while not a priority, should not be disregarded either
  41. FEVE DE BEYLEV – 8th of 12, on first start since the spell, in a 2175m Class C here 3 weeks ago. Will have come on for the run and, barefoot this time, should prove considerably more competitive. Place chance
  42. FINGER DE RODREY – Sanctioned when being prepped for this in a 2925m Cagnes harness Class C 11 days ago. Top jockey in the saddle this time and looks main threat to GOUTIER CELESTE (11)
  43. GOUPIL D’ARDENNES – Sanctioned, on return from a spell, in a Class D over course and distance mid-month. Has struggled to reproduce last season’s form but enjoys an excellent entry here and should not be written off
Summary: An absolute dynamo when barefoot and focused, GOUTIER CELESTE (11) was beaten only by the good Heursitique here a fortnight ago and should take all the beating this time. Nicely-entered here, FINGER DE RODREY (17) makes a first barefoot start for his new trainer and the engagement of Paul Ploquin speaks volumes. FEVE DE BEYLEV (16) is barefoot following her conditioner and has a reasonable chance of finishing close. FITZY DE VIVE (8) left a good impression last time under the saddle and Benjamin Rochard gets the nod.
    SELECTIONS
GOUTIER CELESTE (11) – FINGER DE RODREY (17) – FEVE DE BEYLEV (16) – FITZY DE VIVE (8)
    C4 – PRIX DE BOURGOGNE-AMERIQUE RACES Q5 – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Gr2 Race – Harness – EUR € 120,000
  44. INMAROSA – Sanctioned in Prix du Bourbonnais 3 weeks ago. Showed her form though and can make first 5 if Léo Abrivard manages to keep her focused
  45. DON FANUCCI ZET – Missed out by little for 4th in Prix du Bourbonnais 3 weeks ago. Form is not in question and from the 5-spot will be no easy touch
  46. EMERAUDE DE BAIS – Valiant 2nd to JOSH POWER (17), at 36/1, in Prix du Bourbonnais on 8 December. Is under no pressure to qualify but is barefoot for the occasion and must be taken seriously
  47. GU D’HERIPRE – Pleasant 6th in Prix du Bourbonnais 3 weeks ago. Won this race in 2023, is not far from his best, and even though sporting front pads this time is not to be underestimated
  48. GO ON BOY – Won Gr.1 UET Elite Circuit Finale before running 2nd to ALWAYS EK (13) in 2100m Gr.1 Gran Premio Delle Nazioni at San Siro 2 months ago. Goes well when shod, is fresh and nicely-placed in front, and could well impose
  49. IDAO DE TILLARD – Should not be too hastily-judged for running 8th of 15 to JOSH POWER (17) in 2850m Gr.2 Prix du Bourbonnais 3 weeks ago. Reported to be back on track and over his preferred 2100m can return to winning ways
  50. HUSSARD DU LANDRET – Tenacious Prix de Bretagne winner before coming 12th in Bourbonnais when being conditioned. Competitively-shod this time and Benoît Robin has declared that she will be driven offensively. Minor place chance
  51. DIMITRI FERM – 2nd in a Gr.2 over course and distance on re-entry prior to faulting in the Bourbonnais earlier in the month. Starts wide on the front line and against these battle-hardened older horses will struggle to make his mark
  52. HOKKAIDO JIEL – 3rd to JOSH POWER (17) in Prix du Bourbonnais 3 weeks ago. Is under no pressure this time but is clearly in competition-mode and will not be far off the mark if David Thomain successfully negotiates the start
  53. BENGURION JET – Quality element returning to France after coming 4th of 11 over a mile at Montegiorgio on 10 November. Barefoot for the occasion but has more to find
  54. ORACLE TILE – Courageous but unthreatening 7th of 15 to JOSH POWER (17) in 2850m Gr.2 Prix du Bourbonnais 3 weeks ago. Will appreciate the shorter trip and despite a tough draw, can get in on the action
  55. IDEAL LIGNERIES – Made up for Prix de Bretagne performance when 3rd of 12 in a 2850m Gr.2 here on 1 December. Has references under these conditions but is unlikely to spring any surprises
  56. ALWAYS EK – Has not been seen out since winning 2100m Gr.1 Gran Premio Delle Nazioni at San Siro 2 months ago. Is confirmed at Vincennes and despite the draw, still looks competitive for a place on the podium
  57. MISTER HERCULES – Consistent nordic type making Vincennes debut after running 4th over 2140m at Jagersro on 23 November. Alexandre Abrivard at the helm but may first need to find his feet
  58. JUSTIN BOLD – 3rd of 11 in 2700m Gr.1 Prix Ténor de Baune here last weekend. Sports a revised configuration but in a tougher field this time and the draw only compounds matters
  59. HAPPY AND LUCKY – Last of 15, on first start for 11 months, to JOSH POWER (17) in 2850m Gr.2 Prix du Bourbonnais 3 weeks ago. Preparing for campaign under the saddle and can be ruled out
  60. JOSH POWER – Comfortable winner of 2850m Gr.2 Prix du Bourbonnais 3 weeks ago. Reconfigured this time and handed a shocking draw, but Eric Raffin will expect to at least get a sniff of the action
  61. BANDERAS BI –
Summary: Declared fit after found to be suffering from a blood condition, IDAO DE TILLARD (6) may not be as sharp as he was this time last year but he returns to a trip he particularly appreciates and may just have the edge over GO ON BOY (5) who has been very hard to knock this term. DON FANUCCI ZET (2) showed his form in the race of reference, boasts excellent speed, and the draw will only enhance his chances. Like Romain Derieux’s horse, ALWAYS EK (13) has not raced since the Gran Premio Delle Nazioni at San Siro late-October but is barefoot for his return to France and can play a prominent part if his Scandinavian driver positions him early.
    SELECTIONS
IDAO DE TILLARD (6) – GO ON BOY (5) – DON FANUCCI ZET (2) – ALWAYS EK (13)
    C5 – PRIX DE CONDE – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class C Race – Harness – EUR € 46,000
  62. KING DE LARRE – Spirited but useful sort that reassured in a 2100m Class D here 3.5 weeks ago when 2nd of 14. In this company though will have his work cut out
  63. KNOK – Very disappointing 10th of 13 behind KWARTZ SIBEY (11) in a 2850m Class D here on 4 December. Shoes on this time and poses no danger
  64. KILOU D’YMER – 6th of 8, on return to competition, in a monté Class D over course and distance. Has other priorities and will have nothing to contribute
  65. KEPI DEL – Makes first appearance since being sanctioned in a 2875m Argentan Class A early last month. Has ample ability though, is confirmed under these conditions, and is thoroughly capable of making first 5
  66. KAMOUR – Steps up in category after running 2nd of 10 in a 2175m Class D here on 13 December and with shoes on will struggle to make any impression
  67. KIF DU BIEF – 11th of 13 behind KATIM DU GOUTIER (16) in a 2850m Class C here on 18 November. Is considerably better than that though and the new configuration may be just the ticket
  68. KAMIL VAN HALBEEK – Only once out of first 3 in 11 starts, latterly 3rd of 15, a place behind KELMEC (14), in a Class C over course and distance 2 months ago. Will be fully fit for this and is not incapable of imposing
  69. KARLOS DU LOISIR – Won over the inner track before coming close 2nd of 14 in a 2100m Class D here mid-November. Has had ample time to freshen up and will be expected to figure prominently
  70. KAISER DES GRANGES – Honest type that finished 4th of 11 in a Class C under these conditions 3 weeks ago but a repeat seems improbable
  71. KEVISAN – Drops in category after finishing 9th of 13 in a 2850m Gr.3 here on 1 December. Has still looked rather disappointing however and needs to raise his game
  72. KWARTZ SIBEY – 3rd at Nantes before running close 2nd of 13 in a 2850m Class D here on 4 December. Is a class above most in this field and can wrap this up
  73. KHARNAS – By no means disgraced when 6th of 11 behind KAISER DES GRANGES (9) in a Class C over course and distance 3 weeks ago. Is not about to cause an upset but but can still make his presence felt
  74. KOZIELLO DE LOU – Sanctioned when preparing for this in a Class C over track and trip 3 weeks ago. Alexandre Abrivard in the bike this time and will have a lot to offer if he keeps his charge focused
  75. KELMEC – Lost his action in a Class C over course and distance 3 weeks ago. Is otherwise hard to fault when focused and Romain Derieux will be keen to put things right
  76. KHEOPS DE FREDLAU – Last of 11 behind KAISER DES GRANGES (9) in a Class C under these conditions 3 weeks ago. Is still in conditioning mode and best to hold off
  77. KATIM DU GOUTIER – 3rd of 9, at 72/1, in a 2175m Class C here on 20 December. Enjoys an excellent entry, Eric Raffin reins this time, but still no more than a minor place chance
Summary: In the frame in all 4 starts in his current configuration, KWARTZ SIBEY (11) missed out by little here earlier in the month, to a horse that has since gone on to confirm, and deserves to have his moment in the sun before 2024 ends. Louis Baudouin will still be keeping a keen eye the tricky but talented KOZIELLO DE LOU (13) who returns to racing barefoot, and KAMIL VAN HALBEEK (7) who will be out to turn the tables on KELMEC (14) who headed him here 2 months ago.
    SELECTIONS
    KWARTZ SIBEY (11) – KOZIELLO DE LOU (13) – KAMIL VAN HALBEEK (7) – KELMEC (14)
    C6 – PRIX DE BEAUMONT-DE-LOMAGNE – 2850m (a2m) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 41,000
  78. JALENZA DU BOCAGE – Did not enjoy the best of trips before being sanctioned, when full of running, in a 2100m Class E here on 11 December. If focused though, can make a big splash
  79. JADORE JULRY – Sanctioned when never travelling in a 2700m Class E here on 23 November. Trainer back in the bike but cannot be considered a priority
  80. JARYCA – Just the one blip on her card since early-August, most recently beaten by little in a 2700m Class E here on 1 December. Has been knocking at the door lately and is in with a realistic shout of imposing
  81. JOLIE NANA – Has not been seen out since finishing 9th of 12 in a 2150m Enghien claimer 3 months ago. Shoes on and can be written off
  82. JAVA DE CASTELLE – 10th of 11 in a 2100m Class D here 3 weeks ago. Out of the picture in all 3 starts this term and will first need to reaffirm
  83. JENUFA – Defied his 55/1 when 4th of 10, a place behind JOKE DE CHENU (8), in a 2700m Class E here on 23 November. Will have come on for the race, is in her category here, and will not go down easily. First 5
  84. JAPONICA – Encouraging 3rd of 11 in a 2400m Beaumont-de-Lomagne Class D on 1 December. Has respectable Vincennes credentials but may be biting off more than she can chew this time
  85. JOKE DE CHENU – 3rd of 10 finishers, on first objective of the winter, in a 2700m Class E here on 23 November. Has been afforded time to recover and returns to Paris with a decent chance of getting her nose in front
  86. JULOHA STAR ELGE – Capable mare starting for first time since finishing 6th of 8 in a 2150m Enghien Class D early-August, but is going to need the outing
  87. JADE MAJOR – 3rd of 11 in a 2100m Class E here 2.5 weeks ago. Goes well when barefoot and will be no pushover if she takes to the revised conditions
  88. JESSY DES PISTES – Last of 9 in a 2100m Class D here a month ago. Barefoot this time but still has no possible chance
  89. JONQUILLETE CREPIN – Back under harness after faulting in a 2175m monté Class E here 2.5 weeks ago. Ran 2nd under these conditions during the autumn and should not be entirely ignored
  90. JADE VENESI – Sanctioned early in a 2700m Class E here on 5 December. Is not devoid of talent but current numbers do little to inspire confidence
  91. JOYCE DREAM – Sanctioned when being conditioned in a 2875m Argentan Class A early-November. Comes here fresh but would be preferred barefoot
  92. JASMINE DE GREZ – Sanctioned when clearly going well in a 2700m Class E here on 5 December. Is plainly in shape and has the wherewithal to play a leading role
  93. JIVA – Should not be condemned for finishing 8th of 13 in a 2700m Class E here 3.5 weeks ago. Has significant ability, enjoys a superb entry, and Romain Congard will be eager to make hay
Summary: At the top of her game for a number of months, JARYCA (3) came close to imposing here earlier in the month and, clearly a fan of the main track, can bring home the bacon this time. She will still be opposed by JOKE DE CHENU (8) who left a very good impression here last time out, and JALENZA DU BOCAGE (1) who was going good-guns before faulting here 2.5 weeks ago. Sanctioned more often than not these days, JASMINE DE GREZ (15) is nevertheless very capable when applied, as she showed here recently, and must be respected.

    C7 – PRIX DE TOURNON – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class C Race – Harness – EUR € 53,000
  94. VALLATONIAN – Capable Norwegian type making first appearance since running 6th of 9 over 2140m in Bjerke on 1 October. Barefoot but will be race-rusty
  95. HASHTAG SIMONI – Unraced since finishing 8th of 13 over 3140m at Solvalla on 12 October. Is new to the venue, is barefoot for the occasion, but may just need the run
  96. DIE HARD (ITY) – Unthreatening 7th of 11 in a Gr.1 over course and distance last Sunday. Not devoid of ability but will again have too much to do
  97. NATURAL MINE – Still had gas in the tank when sanctioned in a Class D over course and distance last weekend. Alexandre Abrivard keeps faith but still no more than a minor place chance
  98. JOSHUA PEJI – Has hardly put a foot wrong in either code since June, most recently dominating a 2850m Mauquenchy Class E on 3 December. In more-exalted company this time but can still finish in the mix
  99. DAYAK (ITY) – 7th of 13 behind HEARTBEAT THUNDER (8), on return to competition, in a 2100m Class A here a month back. Will have progressed for the run, has won 2 of 3 under these conditions, and must be afforded respect
  100. JEROCASH DE PHYT’S – Got back in the game in a Class C over course and distance late-November, coming 2nd of 12, and can impose this time if he deigns to keep his action together
  101. HEARTBEAT THUNDER – 6th of 13 in a 2100m Class A here a month ago. Takes a dip in category and should prove more competitive this time around
  102. JOLIVERT DU GERS – Has been enjoying a productive run of form, latterly 3rd of 12, a place behind JEROCASH DE PHYT’S (7) in a Class C over course and distance late-November. Little chance of imposing but is unlikely to go home empty-handed
  103. JOTUNN DU DOME – Imposed over track and trip before running fine 3rd of 13 in a 2100m Class C here on 19 November. Will have freshness on his side and looks a solid podium-prospect once more
  104. JAZZ DE PERVENCHE – Last of 13 in a Class C under these conditions on 2 December. Has been out of sorts for some time and can be passed over
  105. NIGHT ART – Serious Nordic raider that was not the luckiest when 10th of 12 in a 2850m Class B here mid-month. Is clearly in shape and Daniel Wäjersten will be determined to make good on the excellent conditions
Summary: It has taken the capricious JEROCASH DE PHYT’S (7) some time to come to hand this term but he showed his form here last month and with Yoann Lebourgeois back in the bike, can win his first race for 18 months. That said, he will be taking on the tough Swedish NIGHT ART (12) who benefits from a superb entry, and JOTUNN DU DOME (10) who won over course and distance 2 months ago. DAYAK (ITY) (6) has a race under his belt since the spell and drops sufficiently in class to be considered a player.

  106. LORD DU GERS – Won on re-entry early last month, easily securing a 2175m Class D here. Untried at this distance but has the class to bring the fight to LAST MAN (10)
  107. LOULOU DES OUBEAUX – Switches to main track for first time after comfortably winning a 2200m Class D here on 4 December. Unlikely to repeat but can still trot his way into the money
  108. LOUSTIC DE SALOMAX – Has taken well to Vincennes conditions, most recently 2nd of 11 in a 2100m Class D here 3 weeks ago, and can again trot his way onto the podium
  109. LITTLE DRAGON – Got off the mark over the inner course late-November but finished last of 10 behind LOTUS GRIFF (5) in a Class B over course and distance 2.5 weeks ago, and cannot be considered a player
  110. LOTUS GRIFF – 7th of 10 finishers in a Class B over course and distance 2.5 weeks ago. Front pads fitted this time but has no love for the main track and others preferred
  111. LINDSTEDT – 5th of 13 in a Class C over course and distance 11 days ago. Consistently gives his best, has decent references here, and will have legitimate claims on a first-5 payout
  112. LUDIVER DES VAUX – Sanctioned in 4 of last 5, latterly a 2850m Mauquenchy Class A on 13 December. Has evident ability but must first get his house in order
  113. LE SAP – Last of 5, on first start back, in a Class B over course and distance a month ago. Won his first 4 though and, sporting 4 pads for the first time, is not to be underestimated
  114. LUXOR DE VILLABON – Showed significant early promise but has been disappointing lately, most recently sanctioned in a Class B under these conditions a month ago, and others easier to back
  115. LAST MAN – Quality colt making first appearance since running 2nd of 12 in a 2850m Class C over the inner track on 22 October. Clearly in competition-mode however and has every chance of winning this
  116. LORD DE BANVILLE – Sanctioned for 2nd time in a row when faulting in a Class B under these conditions 2.5 weeks ago and can be confidently passed over
  117. LE CAP – Moderate sort starting for first time since being sanctioned in a 2750m Class B at La Capelle early-September. Shod for return and can be ruled out
Summary: Excellent when racing with 4 pads, LAST MAN (10) may not have been seen out for over 2 months but Mathieu Mottier’s yard is in cracking form and can keep his course-and-distance record intact. He is still going to face stiff resistance from the promising LORD DU GERS (1) who sports hind pads for the first time, and LOUSTIC DE SALOMAX (3) who has never failed to deliver over the main track. Last of 5 on last month’s return to competition, LE SAP (8) has been reconfigured and will be no soft touch.

    C9 – PRIX DE MACHILLY – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class E Race – Mounted – EUR € 35,000
  118. LOUXOR DE PIERRAIS – Sanctioned, on career debut, in a Class E under these conditions late last month. Adrien Lamy aboard this time but others still preferred
  119. LUKOMEDES – 7th of 9 behind LOVE ME DO MESLOIS (14) in a 2200m Class E here on 13 December. Stable in flying form and will be no pushover if Mathieu Mottier keeps him trotting
  120. LOVE DE BEAULIEU – Sanctioned in a 2750m Cabourg Class F on 17 December. Yet to display much aptitude for the code and can be ignored
  121. LASCAUX DEL PHEDO – Imposed at Chateaubriant before running 4th of 9 finishers, a place behind LOVE ME DO MESLOIS (14), in a 2200m Class E here on 13 December. Is not about to let the side down but is unlikely to surprise either
  122. LIVE MY DREAM – Pleased on monte debut before being sanctioned in a 2200m Class E here on 13 December. Is plainly a colt of considerable potential and if applied should be able to prove the point
  123. LITTLEBOY DE PLANY – Sanctioned in last 2, most recently a 2700m Class D here 9 days ago, but given the chance to express himself, can pick up a cheque
  124. LARPENT CELESTE – Lost his maiden status in a 2825m Cordemais Class F on 24 November. Is new to Vincennes though and others easier to back
  125. LANINO – Opened his account when dominating a 2750m Cabourg Class F on 17 December. Pitted against better this time but has been entrusted to Eric Raffin and will generate interest
  126. LUCERO TEJY – Steps up in category after winning a 2700m Graignes Class F on 12 November. Has freshness on his side, Benjamin Rochard in the saddle, and will not be far off the mark at the business end of affairs
  127. LORD SMART – Finished 2nd of 7 finishers in a 2175m Class D here on 6 December only to lose it in the stewards’ mobile-office. Paul Ploquin stays faithful and will be hopeful of getting him off the mark
  128. LICARI – 4th over track and trip on ridden debut last month before finishing 5th of 9 finishers, a place behind LOVE ME DO MESLOIS (14), in a 2200m Class E here on 13 December. Disregard
  129. LEON DE LA COURBE – 5th here mid-November prior to faulting in a Class C over track and trip a month back, and has little to offer
  130. LOTUS DES SABLES – 3rd of 9, on return from a break, in a 2700m Class E here on 26 November. In better company this time but will have progressed and must be taken seriously
  131. LOVE ME DO MESLOIS – Clear 3rd of 9 finishers in a 2200m Class E here on 13 December. In similar company on this occasion and will be expected to make the podium once more
Summary: Disqualified from 2nd place on his ridden debut here earlier in the month, LORD SMART (10) will be fitted with front pads this time and can set the record straight. He is still going to encounter a padded LIVE MY DREAM (5) who has similarly shown significant potential, and the wonderfully-engaged, and reconfigured, LOVE ME DO MESLOIS (14) who takes to the main track after having twice pleased over the inner course. LUKOMEDES (2) cannot boast the cleanest of formcards but he will be fully-padded for his main-track bow.
