C1 – PRIX DE SAINT-FLOUR – 2850m (a2m) – Class F Amateur Drivers Race – Harness – EUR € 15,000

  1. IROS DU GOUTIER – Has not been seen out since coming 6th of 11 in a 2700m Class F at Le Croise-Laroche 2 months ago and will need the run
  2. HOLD UP PECE – Dominated an amateurs Class E under these conditions 2.5 weeks ago, on first start for 7 months, and will be very difficult to oppose
  3. IRON BIRD DEVOL – 4th of 14, on 2nd start back, in a 2725m Cabourg Class F on 19 December. Will have come on for the run but others still preferred
  4. HENZO DREAM – Looked ordinary before being sanctioned in a 2900m Amiens Class E on 9 December. Reconfigured for the occasion but still not easy to recommend
  5. HERMES DU DOMAINE – 4th of 15 in a 2100m amateurs Class G here on 12 December. Is plainly enjoying a productive run of form but cannot be considered more than a minor place prospect this time
  6. IMPRESS ME – Left a good impression at Amiens before finishing 9th of 15 in a 2100m Class E here late last month. Has shown decent aptitude at this level and the the front-row start will do his chances no disservice
  7. HIMALAYA TONIQUE – Last but one in a Class E over course and distance 3 weeks ago. Is confirmed in the amateur category but may find the going a bit too tough this time
  8. IMOKO DU BOUILLON – Won in the amateur division at Châteaubriant before confirming in a claimer over course and distance a month ago. Unlikely to secure the hat-trick but enjoys a superb entry and has the wherewithal to get in on the action
  9. EQUALITY – Failed to live up to expectations when 11th of 12 to IPSO DU FER (10) in a 2100m amateurs Class F here 2 weeks ago. Races barefoot this time though and even from back line can give this a good go. First 5
  10. IPSO DU FER – Opened his amateur account in a 2100m Class F here a fortnight ago. Forced to start on back line this time but still has the capacity to run his way into the money
  11. IQUITO PLANCHETTE – Qulaity amateur campaigner that won over track and trip before coming 2nd of 10 to HOLD UP PECE (2) 2.5 weeks ago and again looks the main threat
  12. FIFTY – 3rd to IQUITO PLANCHETTE (11) under similar conditions before finishing last of 11 in a 2700m Class D here 2 weeks ago. Charly Clozier in the bike this time and has a realistic chance of making the frame
  13. FRISE PONT VAUTIER – Drops back in category after finishing 9th of 14 behind IXELLE BLEUE (14) in a 2725m Cabourg Class E on 2 January. Has amateur references here but still not a player
  14. IXELLE BLEUE – 7th of 14 in a 2725m Cabourg Class E on 2 January. 3rd at Enghien on lone amateur start and in current shape looks a player
    Summary: Dynamic winner over course and distance on Christmas Eve, his first start for Alexis Grimault, HOLD UP PECE (2) again starts in front and should be able to wrap this up. He will still encounter opposition from second-row starters, the consistent IQUITO PLANCHETTE (11) who ran 2nd to him that day, IXELLE BLEUE (14) whose recent Cabourg run was better than the result would suggest, and FIFTY (12) who ran 3rd to Franck Blandin’s horse early last month.

  16. MERYTATON – Bit off more than she could chew when sanctioned in a Gr.2 under these conditions mid-December and has no realistic chance
  17. MELINA SUPREME – Sanctioned in a Class B over course and distance on 4 December. Is not devoid of ability but is the Bazire 2nd string and represents a minor place chance at best
  18. MOSTRA DE BANVILLE – Unraced since dominating a 2200m Class D here on 13 September but will have been specifically prepared for this and should prove principal threat to MILLE ETOILES (6)
  19. MAMMA MIA – Pleasant 3rd of 6 in a 2850m Class A here 2.5 weeks ago. Will not be sent out at 37/1 this time and, in this company, is worth keeping an eye on
  20. MILLE ETOILES – Showed her class despite faulting in a 2850m Class A here on Christmas Day. Is clearly better than most here and, with stride in check, should bring home the spoils
  21. MIDWAY LADY – Made up for 13 December sanction when 2nd of 12 in a 2100m Class C over the inner course a week later. Unlikely to dominate MILLE ETOILES (6) but can still trot her way into the frame
  22. MIDNIGHT MOLLY – Flattering Gr.3 4th before finishing last but one behind MILLE ETOILES (6) in a Class B over course and distance early-December and will have nothing to contribute
  23. MADEMOISELLE JANE – Showed significant tenacity to come 2nd of 10 on a 2850m Class C here on 13 December. Tackles main track for first time but still looks competitive for a place cheque
    Summary: On her first start for Nicolas Bazire, MILLE ETOILES (6) was fighting out the finish with Melba Du Gers (who has since won Gr.2 Prix Gélinotte) when sanctioned in a Class A here 2.5 weeks ago, and should have this in the bag if Jean-Michel keeps her focused. He will still be keeping an eye on Thierry Duvaldestin’s promising MOSTRA DE BANVILLE (4) even though she has not been seen out for 4 months, and MIDWAY LADY (7) who is not far from losing her maiden tag.

  26. LILY MARGOT – Quality filly that was sanctioned on re-entry in a 2700m Class C here 11 days ago. Showed her form nevertheless and will have her chances if Gabi Gelormini keeps her focused
  27. LUCIOLE DU VERTAIN – Honest filly stepping up in category and racing barefoot after running 4th of 11 behind LAUREATE DRY (5) in a 2700m Class C here 3 weeks ago. Franck Ouvrie in the bike this time but others still preferred
  28. LAUREATE DRY – Runner-up in last 2, most recently of 11 in a 2700m Class C here 3 weeks ago. Is plainly close to her race and racing barefoot may be just the ticket to her success
  29. LIBERTE DU GOUTIER – Comfortable winner of a 2100m Class D here on 8 December. Possesses significant potential and is not incapable of extending her Vincennes tally
  30. L’ETOILE – Showed improvement when 4th of 8 in a 2700m Class C here late last month. Races barefoot for first time but may struggle to make her mark this time
  31. LAGUNE PIYA – A far cry from the filly we saw last spring, most recently 9th of 11 behind LERIKA DU CHENE (10) in a 2700m Class B here on 13 December. Hind shoes off but others still easier to back
  32. LAMATTA – 8th of 11 behind LERIKA DU CHENE (10) in a 2700m Class B here on 13 December. Is better than that though and racing barefoot this time, can prove the point
  33. LERIKA DU CHENE – Missed out by little in a 2700m Class B here on 13 December. Sports modified shoeing with the leading driver in the bike, is proven over 2175m here, and can make this her own
    Summary: Revitalised here a month ago, LERIKA DU CHENE (10) enjoys a terrific entry at just 100 Euros from elimination and, reconfigured and in the hands of Eric Raffin, can open her main-track account. She will still come under pressure from the likes of LERIKA DU CHENE (10) who races unshod-behind after having made short work of a Class D here early-December, and a first-time barefoot LAUREATE DRY (5) who has been lurking of late.

  35. CORAL COGER – Quality Scandinavian mare that ran 5th of 13 in a 2100m Class A on Vincennes debut 10 days ago. Makes first appearance for new stable and will be expected to acquit herself more competitively
  36. KANTO AVIS – Unexpected winner of 2700m Gr.2 Prix Octave Douesnel here on 7 December. Has had ample time to freshen up and, if still on the boil, can again figure prominently
  37. KOKOTE – Superb winner of Gr.2 Prix Ariste Hemard before being sanctioned in Criterium Continental. Is up against the boys again, but sports pads this time and will be no pushover if she stays in stride
  38. ELEGANCE KRONOS – Quality nordic raider making first start for new stable. Has not raced since finishing 3rd of 11 in a 2140m Eskilstuna Gr.1 mid-November and even though barefoot for re-entry, cannot be considered a priority
  39. GLOBAL ETALON – Sprang a 70/1 surprise when 6th of 13 in 2100m Gr.1 Critérium Continental here 3 weeks ago. Has never delivered at Vincennes but with Gabriele Gelormini in the bike, will be afforded every chance
  40. KEENAN DE JOUDES – Can be forgiven his 12th of 13 in 2100m Gr.1 Critérium Continental here 3 weeks ago. Has never finished out of the frame at this level and can finally open his Gr.2 account, on first start over the distance
  41. KATINKA DU MOUCHEL – 7th in Gr.2 Prix Ariste Hemard before being sanctioned early in Critérium Continental and is not expected to shake things up
  42. KHAL’S FELLA – Good 3rd in Prix Octave Douesnel before being drawn 17, coming last of 13 in 2100m Gr.1 Critérium Continental here 3 weeks ago. Is plainly in excellent shape however and will be expected to contest the finish this time
  43. KING OPERA – Unraced since being sanctioned in a 2100m Class A here late-September. Shoes on and no threat
  44. KRISTAL JOSSELYN – Disappointing for some time, most recently sanctioned when unsupported in Criterium Continental, and is not about to trouble the judge
  45. KALIF LANDIA – Takes his chances in the harness code after winning a 2700m monté Gr.1 here mid-December. Eric Raffin reining for first time and is sure to be competitive at the business end of the race
  46. KELLY DE BANVILLE – 4th of 9 to KALIF LANDIA (12) in a 2700m monté Gr.1 here mid-December. Runs for reasons of conditioning and can be ruled out
  47. KILMISTER – Has failed to make any impression since coming south, latterly 9th of 13 in 2100m Gr.1 Critérium Continental here 3 weeks ago, and will not be influencing the outcome
  48. KOCTEL DU DAIN – Never dangerous 8th of 13 behind GLOBAL ETALON (6) in 2100m Gr.1 Critérium Continental here 3 weeks ago. Not as sharp as he was before the winter but has nothing to prove in this class and can return to victorious ways
    Summary: Fine runner-up in the Gr.2 Prix Octave Douesnel, KEENAN DE JOUDES (7) drew a tough number in the Critérium Continental but will have conditions in his favour this time and should be able to turn the tables on KOCTEL DU DAIN (15) who finished 8th that day. KHAL’S FELLA (9) endured a similar fate to Jean-Philippe Monclin’s horse but his form is sure and has decent credentials over 2850m of the main track. Unraced since springing a 45/1 Octave Douesnel surprise, KANTO AVIS (3) must be afforded more respect this time.

  50. HIP HOP DE MADKER – Makes just 2nd appearance under the saddle after finishing 7th of 11 in a 2100m harness Class D here on 3 January and can expect to have few friends
  51. FIGHTER SIMONI – Serious Swedish sort that has thrived since coming to France, most recently 5th of 11 in a 2100m harness Class C here on 4 December. Won his only monte start at the venue and has every chance of confirming
  52. HELITE ELEVEN – 4th of 8 behind HOUARNEAU (11) in a 2850m Class D here 10 days ago. Always gives her best but appears to have too much to do this time
  53. STARO MOJITO – Flattering 2nd under the saddle before being sanctioned in a 2700m harness Class D here 2 weeks ago. Shod to preference but still not a priority
  54. HELENA GIRL – Has been knocking at the door for some time, latterly 2nd of 7, in 1’11”7 , over course and distance on 2 December, and is not without a claim on the prize
  55. HESCORT LOVE – Encouraging 2nd of 11 in a 2100m harness Class D here 3 weeks ago. Has shown significant potential in the code and will have his chances if he stays in stride
  56. HEAVEN STAR – Continued his rich vein of form when 3rd of 10 in a 2600m harness Class D at Meslay-du-Maine on 19 December. Has no monte references but in current form and configuration is very easy to like
  57. HIMALAYA NARCY – 4th of 13 when preparing for this in a 2550m Bordeaux harness Class D on 17 December. Is confirmed at this level and is unlikely to go home empty-handed
  58. GET UP DES PLAINES – Back under the saddle after running 4th of 14 in a 2750m Cabourg harness Class D on 17 December. Placed under these conditions during the autumn but will need to be at his best this time
  59. HOUARNEAU – Has done nothing but improve lately, most recently 2nd of 8 in a 2850m Class D here 10 days ago. Reunited with Lilian Bertin who won with him during the autumn and must be afforded respect
  60. HOTKATISSIME – Reassuring 3rd of 7 in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class D 2 months ago. Has not been seen since but is competitively-shod and will generate some interest
  61. HISTORIC DAY – Takes first public steps in the discipline after coming 3rd of 14 in a 2825m Cordemais harness Class F mid-December and if form transitions, can make this his own
    Summary: Ideally-engaged at the limit of earnings and patently in cracking form, HISTORIC DAY (13) sports front pads for his monte debut and with Alan Gendrot aboard can get straight down to business. Excellent in both ridden starts on French soil, FIGHTER SIMONI (3) has also been reconfigured and is unbeaten with Benjamin Rochard. HELENA GIRL (6) is not far from opening her monte account and the new formula will set her up nicely. After reassuring under harness here last month, HESCORT LOVE (7) similarly sports modified shoeing and will be reunited with Alexandre Abrivard.

  64. JAZZIE DE BERLES – Failed to confirm good Vincennes performance when 8th of 13 in a 2925m Class D on 14 December, and even with shoes back on will have few takers
  65. JAVA DE BOITRON – Opened her Vincennes account in a Class F over course and distance 2.5 weeks ago. Has a lot more to give and Benjamin Rochard can be confident of a competitive run
  66. JAPONICA – Has turned a corner recently, latterly 4th of 13 behind JARYCA (10) in a 2850m Class E here 2 weeks ago, but still has more to find
  67. JOSY EXPRESS – 2nd over track and trip late-November but failed to confirm when last of 13 behind JARYCA (10) in a 2850m Class E here 2 weeks ago. Barefoot this time but others still easier to back
  68. JICKY GIRL – Tenacious 2nd of 11 in a 2100m Class E here a month back. David Thomain in the bike this time but represents no more than a minor place prospect
  69. JUSTICE BRICKELL – Imposed at La Rochelle before coming 3rd of 13 in a Class E under these conditions on 5 December. Has been afforded time to freshen up and enjoys a realistic chance of opening her metropolitan account
  70. JADE HAUFOR – Lacklustre 9th of 13 behind JUSTICE BRICKELL (8) in a Class E under these conditions on 5 December. Struggling to replicate last spring 2024 form and must first re-establish her credentials
  71. JARYCA – Serious mare that was just headed in a 2850m Class E here late last month. Is close to her race and Eric Raffin will be keen to seal the deal this time
  72. JADE VENESI – 3rd of 13, a place behind JARYCA (10), in a 2850m Class E here 2 weeks ago. Mathieu Mottier stays faithful and she will not be sent out at 49/1 on this occasion
  73. JOIE D’AMOUR – Won at Graignes prior to coming 4th of 9, a place behind JAZZIE DE BERLES (3), in a 2100m Class D here late-November. Has had time to get back in shape, has won twice with Franck Nivard, and will not be far off the mark
  74. JOSEPHA CHOUP – 8th of 10 when prepping for this in a 2650m Bordeaux Class D a fortnight ago. Boasts fine references in this configuration and will be expected to challenge for a place on the podium
    Summary: A tough race to decipher this but it is nevertheless very hard to ignore JARYCA (10) who has more than held her own since being entrusted to Eric Raffin. Not once out of the frame in the day’s configuration, she may just have the edge over Laurent Koubiche’s fine JUSTICE BRICKELL (8) who has done nothing to disappoint this term, and the well-entered JOSEPHA CHOUP (13) who is shod as she was at Toulouse. JAVA DE BOITRON (4) steps up in category after imposing over track and trip on Christmas Eve and must be taken seriously.

  76. ESPACE WINNER – Steps up in category after running 7th of 10 in a 2850m amateurs Class E here on Christmas Eve, and would be preferred under the saddle
  77. HANNIBAL TUILERIE – Serious sort returning to the harness code after running 3rd of 12 in a monté Gr.3 over course and distance 2 weeks ago. Has solid credentials under these conditions and can fill the 3rd step on the podium
  78. HIP HOP HAUFOR – Beat stablemate GOELAND D’HAUFOR (5) in a 2100m Class A prior to coming 5th of 12 behind him in 2850m Gr.3 Prix Jean Dumouch here mid-December, and can again make first 5
  79. GOELAND D’HAUFOR – In the frame in last 2, latterly 3rd of 12 in 2850m Gr.3 Prix Jean Dumouch here mid-December. Is clearly close to his best and should again figure prominently
  80. ELITE DE JIEL – Makes first appearance since finishing 7th of 13 in a 2850m Class D here on 4 November. Shod for competition but is out of her depth
  81. INO DU LUPIN – Flew up in a 2650m Bordeaux Class A late last month. Returns to racing barefoot and, with form maintained, can give FACE TIME (9) a run for his money
  82. GENDREEN – Won a Gr.3 during the autumn but out of the picture in last 2, latterly 6th of 12 behind GOELAND D’HAUFOR (5) in 2850m Gr.3 Prix Jean Dumouch here on 15 December, and will need to raise his game
  83. FACE TIME – 8th of 10 in a 2850m Class A conditioner here a fortnight ago. Swept away all before him last winter and can pick up where he left off
    Summary: On paper this looks a 2-horse race between the exceptionally well-engaged FACE TIME (9) who is barefoot after a brace of conditioners, and Jean-Paul Marmion’s tough INO DU LUPIN (7) who also goes barefoot after having imposed shod at Bordeaux just a fortnight ago. Class A course-and-distance winner mid-November, HANNIBAL TUILERIE (3) looks the best of the rest.

  85. FOR YOU ROC – Respectable Italian import making first appearance for new stable. Has not run since coming 4th of 7 over a mile at San Siro mid-November though and is unlikely to be given a hard race
  86. FUNKY ROC – Courageous 5th of 8 finishers behind LEADER DE JOUDES (10) in a 2100m Gr.3 on 14 December. Sports 4 pads for first time and will be expected to show notable improvement
  87. LAGNU MAG – Sanctioned in 3 of last 4, latterly a Class A over course and distance 10 days ago. Shoes on and no danger
  88. FIRST TIME ROC – Well-regarded type making first French start not having run since being sanctioned over 2140m at Jägersro late-October. Barefoot for the occasion but may be race-rusty
  89. LASH PERRINE – 4th of 8 finishers behind LEADER DE JOUDES (10) in a 2100m Gr.3 on 14 December. Races first-time barefoot and should again finish in the mix
  90. LOGAN JIEL – Unexceptional 8th of 10 behind L’AS DESBOIS (11) in a Gr.3 over course and distance 2.5 weeks ago and even with hind shoes off will struggle to make any impact
  91. FRANKIE LJ – Useful Italian import that finished 6th of 8 finishers behind LEADER DE JOUDES, on first French start, (10) in a 2100m Gr.3 on 14 December. Goes barefoot with Eric Raffin reining this time and must not be underestimated
  92. LISSANDRO – Made it 2 on the trot when dominating a 2175m Class A here 3 weeks ago. Is plainly on the way up, has placed over track and trip, and looks the one to beat
  93. LEADER DE JOUDES – Made up for early-December sanction when 3rd of 8 finishers in 2100m Gr.3 Prix de Mansle here 2 weeks later. Sports modified shoeing this time and will be no easy touch if Clément Duvaldestin keeps him focused
  94. L’AS DESBOIS – Won a 2850m Gr.3 here before running a somewhat unfortunate 5th of 10 in a Gr.3 over course and distance 2.5 weeks ago. Enjoys a good entry and William Bigeon will be intent on taking advantage. Chance
    Summary: Improving with every run, and winner of his last two, LISSANDRO (9) steps marginally up in class but races unshod-behind for the first time and can secure the hat-trick. Jean-Michel Bazire will however be justifiably wary of William Bigeon’s freshly-barefoot L’AS DESBOIS (11) who did not enjoy the best of trips here on Christmas Day, and a reconfigured LEADER DE JOUDES (10) who beat a number of these in the Gr.3 Prix de Mansle mid-December. FUNKY ROC (3) was by no means disgraced that day and racing with 4 pads this time could well make all the difference.

  96. DENIA – Tricky but talented mare that lost a 2700m Class C here on New Year’s Day after having got her nose in front. On better behaviour though can bring the fight to JALENDRA DE MALAC (5)
  97. DIVINA TRIO – No slouch on a good day but will need to show considerable improvement on recent 8th of 12 in a 2700m Class C here 10 days ago
  98. IRIS FARCEUSE – Reassuring, but surprising, 3rd of 6 in a 2700m Class D here 2 weeks ago but a repeat looks decidedly unlikely
  99. JALENDRA DE MALAC – Simply superb since switching yards, most recently securing the hat-trick in a 2700m Class C here late-November. Has been afforded time to freshen up and will take all the beating
  100. IRMYLA DE SOMMAIRE – Quality element that ran 5th of 6 when being conditioned in a 2700m Class D here a fortnight ago. Shoes on again and best to hold off
