R1 CAGNES-SUR-MER [L-H]

C1 – PRIX DE LA MENTHE POIVREE – 1300m (a6f1/2) – ALL WEATHER – Class 4 Claiming – Flat – EUR € 16,000

  1. IVORY SPRING – Has won his last three, most recently over 1300m at this track in a Handicap. Huge winning chance again and a must for all bets
  2. NOLITO – Ignore last run, finished 4th over 1600m in Handicap class at this track before that and has to be taken seriously. Good chance
  3. GALILODGE – Will need to progress on recent 5th place at this course over 1300m in a weak race and others are preferred
  4. BLU METAL JACKET – He made a smart local winning debut over 1300m at this track on the 27th of January in a claiming race and can follow up. Win choice
  5. TIFFANYLI – Ignore her last two starts of which one was in Listed company. She was a winner before that over 1400m at Compiegne and can bounce back to better form
  6. COGSWORTH – Makes his local debut, finished 5th over 1400m at Chelmsford on the 26th of October last year and should need a few runs to tighten up. Happy to ignore
  7. LOUIS DE LA KLAUSS – Finished 6th over 1200m at Marseille Borely in a Handicap on the 27th of May last year and is hard to like. Happy to ignore
  8. BAYC – Will need to build on latest 11th over 1600m on the 12th of February and others should be much the stronger. Hard to like in this
    Summary: BLU METAL JACKET (4) made a smart local winning debut in late January over 1300m at this very track and is confidently selected to follow up. His future looks bright here, in France. IVORY SPRING (1) is in a winning streak currently having won his last three and there simply is no reason why he cannot win again to make it four-in-a-row. NOLITO (2) can be forgiven for the last disappointing run and is likely to bounce right back to near best. He has a strong place chance. TIFFANYLI (5) is a must for the quartet and can serve up way more than the last two. Respect and include.

  12. MORE – Was a winner four starts back but has been woeful thereafter and is hard to make a case for. Would be a shock winner and can be passed by
  13. AGRI – Current form is not sparkling but has shown ability before. Far prefer others for the shortlist and will need to improve to win. Small place chance
  14. SUN PROJECT – Taking time to win, needs to do more for the victory here but can improve to earn stakes for the connections. Place chance at best for today
  15. BAWE ISLAND – Ignore last run, placed 2nd over 1200m at Marseille Borely in a Handicap before that but others are preferred. Happy to ignore
  16. MAGIC STARS – Current form has been on the decline, managed only 11th last time over 1500m in a Handicap at this course. Prefer others
    Summary: JOHN SIX (2) brings consistent form into the race and was a winner three starts back. He was 4th at Pau over 1600m in a claimer on the 19th of January and can be given strong each way claims. COUR DU ROI (1) has won six times but is proving to be a tad erratic of late. In saying that, on best efforts, he can never be ignored. SUN PROJECT (6) is taking time for the maiden win and does have a bit to do for the win here. He, however, has a solid place chance. AGRI (5) has a first four chance and is a natural inclusion for the quartet.

  21. NEVA NEVADA – Placed 4th over 2400m in a Handicap on the 10th of February and should go close. Strong each way chance
  22. ALGECIRAS – Managed to get up and run 3rd over 3200m last time in Handicap class and might be able to place again. Prefer others for win. Place chance
  23. SAINT LANGIS – Comes into the race fresh off a victory at Cagnes-Sur-Mer over 3200m and can follow up. Big runner and danger to the first choice
  24. AUEN ADVENTURE – Finished 5th over 3200m in a Handicap on the 5th of this month and can be expected to go close to winning
  25. YURINOV – Current form has been on the downward spiral over various distances and will need huge progression on latest efforts before being considered for any bets
    Summary: AUEN ADVENTURE (8) is seldom far off the action and looks ready for the next win. He placed 5th over 3200m at this very track on the 5th of this month and is the firm first choice. NEVA NEVADA (5) boasts some consistent form of late and can be expected to build on his last 4th placing at this track over 2400m. Strong each way claims. BARBADIN (4) was victorious at his penultimate start but let the team down last time. He can be forgiven for that and can go very close this time. SAINT LANGIS (7)comes into the race fresh off a victory at this track and can follow up.

  31. GANT – Comes into the race fresh off a victory at this track over 2000m in a Handicap and can follow up. Good chance and a must for all bets
  32. GAIDAR – Caught the eye when 2nd over 2000m in a Handicap on the 15th of January and can go one better. Strong each way chance
  33. BOSIOH – Finished way back in 12th place last time when seen at Deauville over 2500m and would be a huge surprise if winning. Pass by
  34. FOREVER GIVEN – Has placed 8 from 9 starts and looks ready to go close to winning. Finished 2nd over 2000m on the 13th of last month at this track. Big chance
  35. SPEECHMAN – Current form has been on the decline over various distances and courses and makes no appeal. Would be a shock winner
  36. THUNDERSPEED – Will need to progress on latest 5th place effort at salon Provence on the 30th of September over 2000m and should probably need this comeback run
  37. BOBBYMURPHY – Won over 1800m on the 7th of this month in a Handicap and must be respected and included again. Good chance
  38. NEPALAIS – Finished 4th over 1900m in a Handicap at Deauville on the 24th of last month and should, again, be in the first four. Big runner
  39. APOLINO – Finished 5th over 2000m in a Handicap last time and is difficult to make a case for on overall form and can be ignored from all bets
  40. DENIA – She ran an improved race last time when 3rd over 2000m and can place again at likely decent odds. Place value suggestion for the quartet
  41. LINFASOMMER – Won the last start which was over 2000m at this track in a Handicap in late January and can follow up. Respect and include
    Summary: SAINT ETIENNE (4) can be forgiven for the last 11th place run and judged on solid earlier form. He finished 2nd in his penultimate start which was over 1900m at Chantilly in a competitive Handicap and was a winner before that. He is the first selection. FOREVER GIVEN (9) has placed eight times from nine starts and should get it all right soon. Strong each way claims. KOVEL (1) is one for the shortlist and has a huge place chance. GANT (6) must be respected and included for all bets and should make the presence felt.

    Summary: In a race that won’t take a great deal of winning, SOHO YORK (3) is fancied to make a winning start going handicapping for the first time. He has produced two fair efforts against maidens and should prove to be a big threat in this. WESTMINSTER FOX (13) wasn’t seen to best effect last time out and should be able to bounce back to his previous form where he was right in the thick of things. SPICHOPE (4) produced a better effort last time out and should be involved. MOOREA (6) has seldom been far off the action and seems capable of winning in a race of this nature.

    Summary: MARLOWE (4) comes into this with a very healthy weight turnaround and this drop in class looks to be right up his alley. He should go very close. D DAY MAN (2) is 4kgs worse off at the weights with the former but has won his last two and could certainly reel off a hat-trick. INDIAN ALLIANCE (1) gets weight off the back courtesy of an apprentice and should be effective in this. ROI DE FLANDRE (3) is holding steady form and needs to be respected.

    Summary: AL ALMARCHAL (4) was sent over further last time out and may have not stayed so bringing him back in trip along with him racing in a handicap for the first time could see him take a significant step forward. ARLINO (10) won with a bit in hand and could repeat in the dose in a very winnable contest. RIMBAULT (3) is best forgiven for a rather under par latest effort and if judged on previous form, he will be a threat. JUSSIFER (13) doesn’t arrive in the best shape but has been dropping in the ratings and could be on the right mark to make his presence felt.

  95. KADIYAC – Winner over track/trip when beating a few reopposing sorts on the 30th of January 2025. Each way chance
  96. PRESA DIRETTA – Fair run in 4th position over 2000m at Pau in a Class 3 divided handicap on the 17th of January 2025. Can outrun odds
  97. AL ALAALI – Finished 7th behind reopposing rivals in a Class 3 divided handicap on the 30th of January 2025. Easy to look elsewhere
    Summary: MELBORA (5) has been threatening for that next win and with a bit of luck on her side, she can go one better than she did last time out. KHOCHENKO (1) lost his way towards the back end of 2024 but has returned to form with two pleasing efforts and must be respected. NOSDARGENT (4) was the meat in the sandwich between two reopposing sorts and shouldn’t be far off with a repeat effort. SHANAKILL (8) gets the services of Maxime Guyon who has a good record aboard this gelding.

  1. LEXINGTON DU SEUIL – Two unplaced runs of late over fences and hurdles, 3rd before that over 3400m in a claiming hurdle at Compiegne on October 21st. Back on the flat and best watched for now
  2. LANDZARODVILLERETS – 5th on the one run over 2300m at Durtal on January 26th. Can improve from that run. Place chance
  3. LEADER DE SARTI – Well beaten on the one start over 2300m at Durtal on January 26th. Will need vast progress to be involved
  4. LILYBEE – Fair 2nd over 2400m at Pornichet on the last run on December 8th. One to pay attention too
  5. LENZA CONTI – Did well to be 2nd at Vichy on her only run over 2400m on May 26th last year. She will be well tuned for this return to action
  6. LADY MAGIC – Creditable 3rd on the one run at Pau on November 29th over 2400m. She will strip fitter for that run and warrants respect
  7. LITTORAL – Unraced gelding by Elliptique, the dam never ran. From a respected trainer. One to watch in the betting for any support
  8. LEADER D’ALLIER – Unraced gelding by Cokoriko, the dam was placed once on the flat. His trainer can ready one to strike on debut. Monitor the betting for clues
  9. LIEIRA – 9th on the one run over 2300m at Durtal on January 26th. More was expected on her debut and she can improve from that run and make the frame
  10. LADY DIVINE – Unraced filly by Masked Marvel, the dam was placed on the flat. Stable runners tend to need a run or two for experience. The betting can guide
  11. LA VALSERINE – Unraced by No Risk At All, the dam won on the flat and over hurdles. Stable runners usually know what is required on debut. She has a nice profile and is one to keep an eye on in the betting market
    Summary: LENZA CONTI (5) made a pleasing debut when she was second at Vichy on her only run so far last May. She has been given time and will be well prepared for her return to the racecourse. LA VALSERINE (11) has a nice profile and she will be expected to give a good account of herself on her debut. LADY MAGIC (6) can improve from a nice third-placed effort at Pau in November on her only start. LILYBEE (4) ran well on the PSF when second last time and is one to consider.

  18. JOCASTA – Failed to finish over hurdles last time, she won before that on debut at Le Touquet on September 8th in a Class 4 hurdle. Chase debut and is respected
  19. LOLLITA – Fair 4th over 3600m in a Class 2 chase on December 10th at this track. Capable and was placed over hurdles. She is lightly raced and more can be expected
    Summary: CROWN DU BERLAIS (4) won nicely over hurdles at Auteuil in late November on his latest start and can make an impression and score on his chasing debut. TIDE OF DREAMS (6) is talented over hurdles, she failed to finish on her chase debut last time but with a clear round of jumping she can make her rivals work hard for success. JOCASTA (7) warrants respect and can make the frame. LOLLITA (8) shaped well over fences last time and looks best of the remainder.

  71. LISON DES GLENAN – Finished 7th in a class E at Saint-Brieuc over 2575m on 6 December. This is the third run-back and can contest the finish being fitter this time
    Summary: LAYLA SONIA (8) did not run too badly at Vincennes and improvement is expected having her first run for trainer Sébastien Guarato. She gets a narrow choice in a very difficult race. LADY STARLIGHT (10) bounced back to form when barefoot last time out and remains unshod so can go one better. LORETTE UP STAR (3) has improved since going unshod and should be a threat yet again. LISON DES GLENAN (11) should be fitter this time so could improve.

  77. KING DE COSSIO – Disqualified in a class E at Vincennes over 2175m on 4 February. This is the third run back. A runner-up on this track in August and if wise can be competitive

  83. KARAYAN DES IRIS – Disqualified in a class E at this track over 2850m on 13 January. Must be wise and needs to find a few lengths to win
  84. KARLA D’AVENIR – Disqualified in a class F at Vire over 2800m on 9 February. Disqualified in the last three. First time in this configuration and this could suprise
  85. KISCOOL DU GOLLIER – Disqualified in a Harness class F at Chateaubriant over 2300m on 3 February. A winner at Caen on 21 September and if wise can bounce back
  86. KANA DE SUCE – Finished 7th in a class E at Vincennes over 2175m on 1 February. Others make more appeal
  87. KARLITO DU CAMPDOS – Fifth in a Harness class E at this track over 2850m on 27 January. Debuts in this specialty can play a role in the finish
    Summary: KADILLAC (9) has yet to win a race but is in good form and her run at Vincennes did suggest she can win a race like this. KELIA D’ARROU (3) has been very consistent of late and would not be a surprise winner. KING DE COSSIO (6) has disqualification issues but has run well at this track before and is not out of it. KHEOPS DU LOISIR (11) is hard to trust but does have a winning chance when wise.

  96. MAMOUNIA DE LUBLE – Disqualified in a class D at Chateaubriant over 2400m on 3 February. Must be wise and needs to improve
  97. MELKIOR CASTELLE – Fourth in a class D at Chateaubriant over 2400m on 3 February. Others are preferred in this line-up

    Summary: MACINAGGIO (2) is very well bred. He qualified at Caen and would not be a surprise winner on his debut. MORETIME DU CAMPUS (8) was a good debut winner at Argentan and is quite capable of following up. MIESQUE DANICA (4) fluffed her lines with a disqualification on debut and can be a threat this time around if wise. MY QUEEN DELO (7) won on debut and is another that can shine .

  106. HORYVIL DES MOYEUX – Third in a class G at Nantes over 3000m on 21 January. A penultimate start winner on this track and has a good chance again

  110. HYROPHARE – A runner-up in a class E at Graignes over 2725m on 3 February. Holding form well and has sufficient means to fight for victory
  111. GENTLEMAN POWER – Disqualified in a Claimer at Cagnes-sur-Mer over 2925m on 3 February. Others make much more appeal
    Summary: HORYVIL DES MOYEUX (7) is not easy to trust but is in good form and is a narrow pick to win this lucky last race. HYROPHARE (11) usually gives of his best and should challenge for top honours yet again. FRINGANT PACHA (9) was not disgraced at Vincennes last time out and can be competitive in this line-up. HOUVILLE (2) was a bit unlucky last time out and is another that can shine.
