R1 ENGHIEN [L-H]
C1 – PRIX DE MIMIZAN – 2875m (a2m) – Class C Race – Mounted – EUR € 68,000
- IT’S MY DREAM – Last of 9 behind JE REVE DU BOIS (3), on comeback, in a 2175m Vincennes Class C on 19 January. Excels over track and trip and has every chance of coming close
- HUIS CLOS (SWE) – Runner-up in his last 2, most recently a 2700m Class D across town on 16 February. Sanctioned on lone start here but in current condition is easy to like for the win
- JE REVE DU BOIS – Pleasant 6th of 12 in a 2850m harness Gr.3 across town on 9 February. Can prove a handful but has bags of ability and can make a big splash if he stays in stride
- FLASH DU BIWETZ – Has shown improvement since the turn of the year, latterly 4th in 21 February race of reference, but a repeat seems improbable
- HURRICANE WAY – Returns to racing shod after running 8th of 11 finishers behind ILTON ROYAL (6) in a 2850m Vincennes Class C a fortnight ago. Is useful when focused but would have better prospects a level down
- ILTON ROYAL – 2nd of 11 finishers in a 2850m Vincennes Class C over short course 2 weeks ago. Has won 2 of 3 under these conditions and looks a serious proposition
- GIANT MESLOIS – Unseen since being sanctioned in a 2700m Vincennes Class B 2 months ago. Previously a good sort but latest results do nothing to inspire confidence
- FASCINOSO DE LOU – Has ample talent but out of the picture in last 2, most recently last of 11 finishers behind ILTON ROYAL (6) in a 2850m Vincennes Class C a fortnight ago. Takes on a good lot this time but appreciates Enghien and can make first 5
- FLUO MESLOIS – Sanctioned when unsupported in 21 February race of reference and appears to have no possible chance
- HOPIUM – Should not be too hastily-judged for faulting in a 2850m Vincennes Class C a fortnight ago. Has solid Enghien credentials and, entrusted to Adrien Lamy for first time, should be competitive for a step on the podium
Summary: Currently at the top of his game and clearly close to his race, HUIS CLOS (SWE) (2) has another good chance to open his 2025 account. He will still meet resistance from the on-form and Enghien-loving ILTON ROYAL (6), and a shod JE REVE DU BOIS (3) who is hard to knock when focused. HOPIUM (10) enjoys a terrific entry and has nothing to prove under these conditions.

C2 – PRIX DE SANARY-SUR-MER – 2150m (a1m1/4) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 59,000 - GOLDEN GRACE – Reliability not her strong suit but ran an encouraging 4th of 15 in a 2100m Vincennes Class D last week and will not be available at 85/1 this time
- IS MAGIC HAUFOR – 3rd of 12 in a 2700m Vincennes Class D on 16 February. Has been excelling in this class over recent months and the draw will only enhance her already good prospects. Claim
- GUIGNOL DE CHARDET – 7th of 12 behind IS MAGIC HAUFOR (2) in a 2700m Vincennes Class D on 16 February. Enjoys an excellent draw but would be preferred barefoot
- HOLD UP RANAIS – Not overtaxed on re-entry when 10th of 15 behind GOLDEN GRACE (1) in a 2100m Vincennes Class D last week. Is ideally-drawn this time and will be expected to turn the tables
- GALANT DE BRUYERE – Ran 4th at Vincennes before coming 3rd of 14 in a 2850m Laval Class last week. Has been handed the 5-spot and Guillaume Lenain will be eager to make hay
- FINGER DES BORDES – Defied his odds to run 7th of 15 behind GOLDEN GRACE (1) in a 2100m Vincennes Class D last week. Barefoot this time and while not a priority is still worth retaining
- INDUS VAL – 6th of 10 when prepping for this over 2300m at Mons 2 weeks ago. Reunited with Pierre-Yves Verva who has already won with him 4 times
- FERLAINE – Last but one finisher behind IS MAGIC HAUFOR (2) in a 2700m Vincennes Class D on 16 February. Is out of her league this time and can be passed over
- IRINA DE BAILLY – 7th of 13 in a 2925m Cagnes Class D a month back. Has been off the boil for some time and will not be troubling the judge
- GOLDORACK – Sanctioned in last 3, most recently 2 February race of reference. Races barefoot this time but still not easy to recommend
- INSTRUCTOR – Hardy element making first start since running 7th of 14 in a 2700m Vincennes Class C on 24 December. Has never disappointed at Enghien and in this company will have his chances
Summary: In excellent shape over recent months, IS MAGIC HAUFOR (2) has been acquitting herself well in good company and from the 2-spot can impose. Although unraced since Christmas Eve and forced to break from the 2nd line, INSTRUCTOR (11) takes a dip in category and can get straight back down to business. Starting wide but on the front row nonetheless, INDUS VAL (7) returns barefoot to a track he likes and with a good hand to play. Better-positioned behind the car, GALANT DE BRUYERE (5) is plainly on the way up and is confirmed at the venue.

C3 – PRIX DE SAINT-PIERRE LE MOUTIER – 2875m (a2m) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 40,000 - LYS PETTEVINIERE – Faulted in a 2700m Vincennes Class E 9 days ago. Will appreciate Enghien more but still has a lot to find
- LOMBARDO DE LOU – Sanctioned on re-entry in a 2700m Vincennes Class E last week. Won over shorter here last summer but still represents no more than a minor place prospect
- LAST DES BROUSSES – Sanctioned in last 2, latterly when competitive in a 2700m Vincennes Class D on 23 February. Yoann Lebourgeois gets the nod this time and will be no pushover if he can keep his colt applied
- LEON – 2nd of 8 in a 2175m Vincennes Class E on 4 February. Will be better barefoot and will have a legitimate claim on the prize
- LE GENTLEMAN – 6th of 10 finishers in a 2700m Vincennes Class D 2.5 weeks ago. Should take well to new profile and, behind in earnings, must be considered a player
- LE GOLDEN PHYT’S – 4th of 14, a place behind LINCOLN HAWK (12), in a 2100m Vincennes Class D on 12 February. Unlikely to cause an upset but still looks a respectable first-5 candidate
- L’AMIRAL STREET – Last of 11 on comeback in a 2700m Vincennes Class D on 1 February. Has merit but would still be preferred in a lower category
- LYNX DU CHATELET – 9th of 11 finishers in a 2700m Vincennes Class D on 23 February. Entrusted to P-Y Verva for the occasion and has a realistic chance of extending his win-rate to 50 percent
- LONDON JONES – Placed twice before finishing last but one in a 2100m Class D here a month back. Shod as he was here in January and is not incapable of getting a look-in
- LAZAN DE PASSIEU – Has not been seen out since being sanctioned in a 2850m Vincennes Class C last October. Barefoot on first start back but still not a concern
- LARABELLO DE LOU – Promising last year but disappointing this winter, most recently 7th of 11 finishers in a 2700m Vincennes Class D on 23 February, and must get his house in order
- LINCOLN HAWK – Won nicely at Pontchateau in January prior to running 3rd of 14 in a 2100m Vincennes Class D on 12 February. Will appreciate returning to a longer trip and must be considered a player
Summary: Given an easy return run across town recently, the promising LYNX DU CHATELET (8) races first-time barefoot for his Enghien bow and has a decent chance of trotting off with the silverware. Pierre-Yves Verva will still want to keep track of the similarly first-time-barefoot LEON (4) who has not stepped a foot out of line this term, and the well-entered LINCOLN HAWK (12) who has turned a corner recently. Back on a more even surface, LE GENTLEMAN (5) goes unshod-behind, will be reined by Benjamin Rochard this time, and a more competitive performance is anticipated.

C4 – PRIX D’HERBLAY – 2875m (a2m) – Class E Race – Mounted – EUR € 35,000 - LIBERTY DELO – Untroubled 6th of 9 finishers on comeback mid-February in a 2875m Argentan harness Class E. Has demonstrated significant aptitude for the code and racing barefoot for the occasion must be considered a leading contender
- LARPENT CELESTE – Returns to the monte code, unshod-behind, after finishing last but one in a 3000m Nantes harness Class E a fortnight ago and is not about to influence the outcome
- LA SOL FA – Kicked the year off well but disappointing in last 2, latterly 6th of 8 finishers in a 2700m Graignes Class E 3 weeks ago, and even though reconfigured still has more to find
- LEADER TUILERIE – Ran 3rd under harness on re-entry at Cordemais mid-January before repeating a fortnight later in a 2700m Vincennes Class E. Paul Ploquin in the saddle here and is very easy to like for the win
- LATINA DE TILOU – Won at first time of asking but sanctioned in next 3, latterly a 2200m Vincennes Class D 2 months ago, and others easier to trust
- LOU DE LANGE – 6th of 11 in a 2700m Class D on 20 January. Has had ample time to recalibrate and it is only a question of time before she comes good again
- LA CHENEVIERE – Complicated filly that was taken out by another horse in a 2700m Vincennes Class D 2.5 weeks ago. François Lagadeuc takes over in the irons and will not be far from the action if he can keep her focused and out of trouble
- LOLITA DE MIELOUI – Sanctioned in 3 of last 4, most recently a 2700m Vincennes Class D on 20 January. Shoes back on but still not a concern
- LOTUS DES SABLES – Tenacious 3rd of 7 finishers in a 2200m Vincennes Class D 2 months ago. Comes here fresh, is in his category, and must not be underestimated
Summary: Yet to finish out of the first three in 4 starts, LEADER TUILERIE (4) will be configured at he was at Cordemais and is in with a realistic shout of making his ridden debut a successful one. Although a tricky individual, LIBERTY DELO (1) is back racing left-handed and, barefoot for the first time, looks competitive for the win. LOTUS DES SABLES (9) has yet to lose his maiden status but encouraged across town last time out and the excellent entry will only work to his advantage. The talented LOU DE LANGE (6) returns to racing without hind shoes and drops marginally in category with a reasonable chance of making the frame.

C5 – PRIX DE NOIRMOUTIER – 2875m (a2m) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 52,000 - IONIQUE – Surprising 3rd of 16 on re-entry in a 2700m Class F at Le Croise-Laroche 11 days ago although a repeat seems improbable
- DESTINY DI POGGIO – Makes first appearance since coming 2nd of 16 in a 2850m Vincennes Class B on 15 December. Sensational over shorter here a year ago and can keep her undefeated Enghien status intact
- MISTER INVICTUS – Tricky sort that would have picked up a cheque in a 2850m Vincennes Class D 2.5 weeks ago had he not faulted. Difficult to oppose when focused and must be taken very seriously
- HISTOIREMIKA – Below-par in last 3, most recently 8th of 14 behind IQUITO PLANCHETTE (8) in a 2725m Graignes Class E 3 weeks ago, and can expect to have few friends
- GOLD DE CHIMAY – Unexceptional 7th of 14 in a 2700m Vincennes Class E on comeback last week. Shoes on this time and not a concern
- HERAKLION DESBOIS – Showed his limits in last 2, latterly last but one behind GOLD DE CHIMAY (5) in a 2700m Vincennes Class E last week, and can be passed over
- DRAGOWSKI – Plucky 4th of 14 in a 2850m Vincennes Class E on 14 January. Not once out of first 5 at Enghien and is not about to disappoint
- IQUITO PLANCHETTE – Seen more often than not in the amateur division but came pleasant 5th of 14 in a 2725m Graignes Class E 3 weeks ago and looks good enough to finish in the mix
- JINGLE DELO – Back under harness after finishing 9th of 10 in a 2700m Vincennes monte Class A conditioner 2 weeks ago. Charles-Antoine Mary could not have asked for a better entry and Paul Ploquin will be quietly confident. Place chance
Summary: DESTINY DI POGGIO (2) has done nothing but improve since moving to France, won her only Enghien start, and even though unraced since mid-December she is barefoot for the occasion and looks the one to beat. Nicolas Bazire will still be keeping a wary eye on MISTER INVICTUS (3) who will be difficult to oppose if he stays in stride, and DRAGOWSKI (7) who held his own in a competitive Vincennes Class E mid-January. JINGLE DELO (9) needs to reassure but is just 500 Euros from elimination and has previously won at the venue.

C6 – PRIX CYRANO II – 2150m (a1m1/4) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 40,000 - MAWENZI – 5th of 7 finishers behind MAHATMA DANICA (7) in a 2100m Class D on 12 February. Forced to start oil the rail but has a lot more to give and should not be underestimated
- MEC D’ERCOURT – Showed improvement when 2nd of 11 in a 2725m Graignes Class E 3 weeks ago. Has more to find but still worth retaining all the same
- MUST ATOUT – Lost his action in a 2950m Toulouse Class C on 19 February. Ability is not in question though and François Lagadeuc will be keen to put things right
- MELOMANE DE LOU – Nicely-bred colt that made it 2 on the trot when comfortably winning a 2050m Agen-Le Passage Class E 3 weeks ago. Well-engaged in front and is thoroughly capable of confirming
- MADE IN PRIMO – Got back in the game when 2nd of 9 in a 2275m Nantes Class E 3 weeks ago. Well-positioned behind the car and can play an active role
- MISSILE DE TAGOR – Won 2 in January before faulting, when full of running, in a 2700m Vincennes Class C a fortnight ago. If applied though, can bring the fight to MELOMANE DE LOU (4)
- MAHATMA DANICA – Good 2nd of 10 in a 2100m Vincennes Class D on 12 February. Has talent in spades and even though starting wide still looks a serious player
- MELKIOR DE BAILLY – Starting to make good on his promise, most recently 4th of 11 in a 2700m Vincennes Class C a fortnight ago, but faces a much stiffer test this time
- MELIDIAN – Last of 9 in a 2700m Vincennes Class A on 9 February. Handed a rough draw and can be ruled out
- MILLESIME TIKELOLE – Missed out by the smallest of margins on debut in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class F on 5 February. Has had time to recuperate but will not be helped by the draw
Summary: Undefeated in two starts to date, MELOMANE DE LOU (4) races left-handed for the first time but, given the nature of his Agen performance, has the class to secure the hat-trick. Nicolas Bazire would still want to be wary of MISSILE DE TAGOR (6) who would have pulled off his own 3-timer had he kept trotting last time out, and the progressive MAHATMA DANICA (7) who is close to losing his maiden status. MUST ATOUT (3) is complicated at the best of times but has ample ability and, if focused, will be dangerous from the 3-spot.

C7 – PRIX DE TREMBLAY-EN-FRANCE – 2250m (a1m1/2) – Class D Race – Mounted – EUR € 40,000 - MARKO DE COQUERIE – Unexceptional in qualification, posting 1’20″3 at Caen last December, and is unlikely to spring any surprises
- MESSI D’OURVILLE – Racecourse debutant that qualified in 1’20″7 at Grosbois last November. Is an unknown entity but hails from a good yard and should not be overlooked
- MILLESIME GRIFF – Untried colt that qualified in 1’19″1 at Caen last July. Has had time to come into himself and looks a serious proposition first time out
- MENDELEIEV – Looked very ordinary when 7th of 11 behind MISTRAL D’AUVRECY (9) in a 2200m Vincennes Class D 3.5 weeks ago and will need to show marked improvement
- MALONG – Drops back in class after finishing a trounced 7th of 8 in a 2200m Vincennes Gr.3 3 weeks ago but still has no realistic chance
- MERCANTOUR – Switches code for first time after running 5th of 11 in a 2825m harness Class F at Le Croise-Laroche 11 days ago. Leading jockey aboard and must be taken seriously
- MANIGOD – 5th of 11, a place behind MISTRAL D’AUVRECY (9), in a 2200m Vincennes Class D 3.5 weeks ago. Has more to find but is not out of the running for a first-5 payout
- MACK DAIRPET – Made short work of his ridden debut, dominating a 2625m Cherbourg Class F early last month. Makes metropolitan debut in excellent shape and has the quality to repeat
- MISTRAL D’AUVRECY – 4th of 11 in a 2200m Vincennes Class D 3.5 weeks ago. Unlikely to get his nose in front but can still give this a good go
Summary: After kicking off his career with a brace of harness sanctions, MACK DAIRPET (8) stormed up at Cherbourg on his ridden debut and, well-engaged here, can confirm. The well-bred MILLESIME GRIFF (3) has been held back since qualifying nicely at Laval last summer and if as good as believed, can get straight down to business. Under the saddle for the first time, MERCANTOUR (6) will benefit from an Adrien Lamy ride and is expected to figure prominently. MISTRAL D’AUVRECY (9) benefits from an entry at the limit of earnings and should take well to Enghien conditions.

C8 – PRIX QUICK WILLIAMS – 2150m (a1m1/4) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 46,000 - KANKAN – 4th of 11 finishers, despite being denied a run, in a 2100m Vincennes Class D a fortnight ago. Is confirmed at Enghien and even from the rail, looks the horse to beat
- NOAH NEWPORT – Quality element making Enghien debut after scoring over 2600m in Victoria Park 3 weeks ago. Consistently gives his best and the draw will do his prospects no disservice
- KENDRICK – Imposed at Bordeaux late-January before running 2nd to a good horse in a 2850m Vincennes Class D on 16 February. Enjoys a top draw in front and will be expected to contest the finish
- KUSAERI – Reassuring 3rd of 11 finishers in a 3000m Nantes Class E 3 weeks ago. Unlikely to shake things up but from the 4-spot deserves to be taken seriously
- KEROSEN DU GERS – Has struggled to come into himself this term, latterly last of 9 in a 2100m Vincennes Class C on 4 February, and is unlikely to influence the result
- DOWNTOWN AS – Useful Italian import making Enghien bow after running 6th of 8 over a mile at San Siro mid-December. Has not been seen out since and even though barefoot still appears to have too much to do
- PLAYBOY DE REVE – Won 4 on the trot before finishing 7th of 15 in a 2700m Vincennes Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Went close on only Enghien start and from the front line can redeem himself
- EMPIRE AS – Tenacious winner of a 2700m Vincennes Class E 12 days ago. Steps marginally up in category and starts wide but returns with morale intact and a decent chance of doubling his money
- ELAND – Placed in 2 before running 8th of 14 in a 2850m Class B across town a month ago. Forced to endure a tough draw but with application can get a look-in
- KAZACHOK – Won 2 from 3 before finishing a one-paced 8th of 15 behind KANKAN (1) in a 2100m Vincennes Class D 2 weeks ago and appears to have his work cut out
- MODRIC RENKA – Terrific servant making Vincennes debut after running 3rd of 12 finishers in a 2700m Vincennes Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Has pulled a tough number though and others easier to back
- KHEOPS BOURBON – Sprang something of a surprise when 5th of 11 finishers behind KANKAN (1) in a 2100m Vincennes Class D a fortnight ago. Breaks from the rear and is unlikely to cause an upset
- DALI’DEL RONCO – No slouch at home in Italy but will need to improve on recent 6th of 12 finishers in a 2700m Vincennes Class E 2.5 weeks ago
- DEMIDOFF CLA – Missed out by little in a 2700m Vincennes Class E 2.5 weeks ago before being sanctioned in the 2nd edition. Not ideally-drawn but will appreciate the mobile start and must be respected
- ETRANGER JOYEUSE – Returns to the French capital after running 3rd of 4 over 2640m in Milan 12 days ago. Barefoot this time but the draw does him no favours
- KASSIDY KID – 9th of 15 behind KANKAN (1) in a 2100m Vincennes Class D 2 weeks ago. Has decent Enghien references but in current form is hard to recommend
Summary: KANKAN (1) may not always be the easiest of horses to handle but he has been in fine shape since the turn of the year, reverts to a proven formula, and has a decent chance of imposing. Back at the top of his game, KENDRICK (3) is ideally-placed on the front row and looks the principal threat. It has taken some time since leaving Italy but EMPIRE AS (8) opened his French account at Vincennes recently and although in better company still looks competitively well-in. Usually a model of consistency, PLAYBOY DE REVE (7) missed the start across town last time out but still has the capacity to finish in the mix. DEMIDOFF CLA (14) was unlucky in a re-run race at Vincennes recently and, clearly in rude health, can set the record straight.

Summary: MAGIC DE BANVILLE (3) is improving and was a good winner at Nantes in January. The step up in distance should suit and he can double up. MALABAR MAGO (9) has been very consistent over the shorter distances and can be a real threat in this line-up. MAMBO ITALIANO (1) looked good when scoring on debut at this course. This longer distance may not be a problem. MYSTERY QUEEN (4) did not run badly at Vincennes and can also be considered a possible winner.

Summary: LESTANCIA BELLA (12) won both her starts last year and only found one better on the day in her come back run. She is awkwardly placed in the second row but would not be a surprise winner. LE CONQUERANT (5) was a good winner at Nantes last time out and can follow up. LE DUC DE SEVRES (11) seems better over a shorter distance but that is not guaranteed. LAUVERGNIER (2) is barefoot for the very first time and has a winning chance on that evidence.
