R1 AUTEUIL [L-H]

C1 – PRIX DE L’YONNE – 3500m (a2m1/4) – TURF – Condition Race – Hurdles – EUR € 53,000

  1. LUDMIKO – He won on debut on the flat at Le Mans over 3200m on November 2nd. He will be well prepared for this debut over hurdles
  2. LANCRAY – Unraced gelding by Bande, the dam never raced. Stable runners warrant respect on debut. Watch the betting patterns for clues
  3. LOMBO SACRE – Fair 3rd at Machecoul over 2950m in a flat race on February 1st on his only run. Hurdles debut and others make more appeal
  4. LORIKO – Fair 3rd last time on his second run on the flat over 2400m at Lignieres on November 30th. Bred to do well over hurdles
  5. LOWAVE – Two placed runs on the flat, the latter when 4th at Angers over 2300m on November 11th. Unlikely to feature on hurdling debut
  6. L’OR MONSEIGNOR – He won over 3000m at Limoges on the flat on November 30th on his second start. Bred for hurdles and is best watched for now
  7. LE BON SAMARITAIN – Placed twice on the flat, the latter when 2nd at Lignieres over 2400m on November 30th. Hurdles debut and is one to keep safe
  8. LE ROUGE EST MIS – Unraced gelding by No Risk At All, the dam never ran. He is from a top stable and has a choice profile. Bold show likely on hurdles debut
  9. LITTORAL – Fair 4th on the one flat run over 3000m at Fontainebleau on February 19th. From a leading trainer who will have this gelding well tuned for his hurdle race debut
    Summary: LE ROUGE EST MIS (8) has a nice profile and he will be well-schooled for his debut over hurdles. With James Reveley on top, he can score on his racecourse bow. LUDMIKO (1) won on his sole start on the flat at Le Mans last November and is bred to do well over hurdles. LE BON SAMARITAIN (7) has shown talent on the flat and could be even better over hurdles. He can make the frame along with LITTORAL (9) who is also trying hurdles after a good run on debut on the flat.

  13. KENTUCKY WOOD – Fair 3rd over track and trip in a Grade 3 chase on February 15th on his last start. Can play a leading role
  14. GRAND ONCLE – 7th last time over hurdles at this track over 4300m in a Listed event on March 2nd. Quickly out again but others preferred
  15. KIF KIF BOURRICOT – Three wins in a row of late, the latter over 4700m in a Class 1 chase at Pau on February 9th. Steps up in class and he has won over fences at this track before
    Summary: KAADAM (2) did improve for his first start in 2024, and can be expected to be not fully tuned for this but should be too smart for his rivals. He was an impressive winner of the Prix Maurice Gillois-Grand Steeple Chase (Grade 1) over track and trip last November on his last run. KIF KIF BOURRICOT (6) will not lack fitness and is improving. He looks like the main threat to the selection. KENTUCKY WOOD (4) was second to KAADAM (2) in the Prix Maurice Gillois -Grand Steeple Chase and warrants respect.

  23. HILL OF BAMBOO – 5th on his last start over 4300m in a Listed hurdle at this track on November 16th. Course winner over 3600m in 2024. Merits consideration
  24. JUMPER BAIE – Unplaced last time, he won before that over 3600m at this track in a handicap hurdle on November 30th. Opposable
  25. REVE DE PRINCE – Placed on his two runs this year, the latter over 3600m when 4th in a Listed hurdle on February 15th at this track. Player
  26. FURIOSO – He won over 3600m in a Class 2 handicap hurdle at this track on February 15th. Can make the top four
  27. KAMYADOR – Unplaced last time, 2nd before that over 4600m in a Grade 3 chase at Cagnes-Sur-Mer on January 5th. Unlikely to be involved
  28. JARDIN SECRET – Nice 2nd over 3600m in a Listed hurdle at this track on February 15th on his last start. Ought to be in the shake-up
  29. DIABLE D’AUTEUIL – Two unplaced runs since a 3rd over 4300m at Pontchateau in a Class 4 chase on November 1st. Course and distance winner in May 2024 although others make more appeal
  30. STINGO AA – Won over 4700m at Pau on the one run in 2024 on January 14th over fences. Capable hurdler and runs well fresh
  31. IDEAL DU CHENET – Unplaced over 3600m in a Listed hurdle at this track on February 15th when last seen. Off the track before that run since November 2023 and is best watched for now
    Summary: STINGO AA (15) could be the answer to this open handicap hurdle. He won on his sole start in 2024 at Pau on January 14th over fences. He should be fit after an absence and have no issues back over hurdles. JARDIN SECRET (13) ran a solid race in a Listed hurdle at this track recently and could be the main danger to the selection. LOU FAST (1) ran a decent race when third in a Listed hurdle last time and has each-way claims despite top-weight. NUMERUS BORGET (2) looks best of the remainder.

  36. NONOLETA – Nice 2nd over 3400m in a Class 2 hurdle at Clairefontaine on July 1st on her last start. Opposable
  37. LEMON SWEET – Unplaced last time, 2nd before that over 3600m at this track over hurdles on October 19th. Can make the frame
  38. LADY RAFFLES – She won over 3500m at Pau in a Class 4 hurdle on January 10th on her second run over hurdles. She can make an impact
  39. HIGHBOURNEDYNAMITE – She won on her debut over 3550m in a Class 4 hurdle at Fontainebleau on February 25th by 6L. One to pay attention too
  40. PLAY IT AGAIN – Two 2nd placed runs so far, the latter over 3250m at Hereford (GBR) on February 12th. She can be competitive
  41. LOUBARANE – Unraced filly by Barastraight, the dam won 7 races on the flat. From a respected trainer. Watch the betting patterns for clues
  42. LA FLEUR AU FUSIL – 3rd on her last run at Angers over 3400m in a Class 4 hurdle on February 16th. She might find a few of these too-smart
    Summary: PLAY IT AGAIN (9) has been second on both of her runs. The latter at Herford in the UK in February. Her experience could be key to success. HIGHBOURNEDYNAMITE (8) was an impressive winner on her sole start in a Class 4 hurdle at Fontainebleau in late February and will improve on that experience. LADY RAFFLES (7) won at Pau on her latest start and is the each-way angle. LA ROULADE (4) is also worth considering.

  50. MARTHA CANNARY – 4th on her last run over 3500m at this track in a Class 1 chase on February 15th. Looks out of her depth
  51. SOBRIQUETTE – She has won both of her runs over fences, the latter over track and trip in a Class 2 race on November 30th. She is improving and has a live chance
    Summary: HACKER DU BERLAIS (1) seems to thrive at this track and was a good winner of the Prix Congress (Grade 2) Chase on November 16th when beating a few of his rivals he takes on again today. SOBRIQUETTE (9) has scored on both of her starts over fences and warrants respect. LAUTHENTYKO (5) was second to the main selection in the Prix Congress chase in November and has a bit of ground to find. APOLLON DU LUY (7) was back in third that day and heads the rest.

    Summary: HASSADAM (4) won by over seven lengths on his debut over hurdles at this track in late October last year and can be expected to be ready for this race. MOODY RISK (5) will not make life easy for the selection. She has won her last three races and will be full of confidence after a six-length success in a Listed hurdle on her latest start in December at Auteuil. LAYLA LUX (10) was second in the Auteuil race and has each-way claims. LORD BRETT (3) is also worth a mention.

    Summary: ILIVA DES OBEAUX (5) is the model of consistency. She has had several good runs of late, her latest start was when third in a competitive Class 2 handicap hurdle in mid-February. DINOZAURE (2) was a decent fourth in a competitive Class 2 handicap hurdle at this track in mid-February when last seen and can not be overlooked. JOSIE D ‘AJONC (12) has a good racing weight and can be involved in proceedings. HEDENN BIHOUE (4) makes up the shortlist.

    Summary: BLACK TRACK (8) won with a bit to spare on his latest start at this track in a handicap hurdle in mid-February. He is still reasonably well-handicapped and can follow up. GALET D’OUDAIRIES (1) ran well to be fourth in the same race at Auteuil and is capable of making things interesting. A CHOEUR JOIE (2) was third in the same race and can not be ruled out. BEST BOWL (5) can also be involved at the business end.

  2. MIKADO CASTELETS – Winner on debut in class F at Nantes over 2275m on 17 January. Tries further and is quite capable of scoring once again
  3. MICH D’OCCAGNES – Disqualified last time out at Vincennes on 1 February. A winner of a Mounted race before that and could contest the finish back in a harness race
  4. MY DREAM DES MONTS – Victorious last time out in class F at Bordeaux over 2550m on 9 February. Tries further but does have a winning chance
  5. MAJYC FLIGHT – Unreliable but was runner-up last time out in class E at Agen-La Garenne over 2575m on 3 March. Can earn some more money
  6. MOLLY DU VALLON – Finished 7th in class D at Vincennes over 2850m on 14 November. Returns from a break and has a place chance if fit
  7. MAXOU DES IFS – Disqualified last time out at Enghien on 14 October. Not one to trust but is capable of earning some money when wise
  8. MOSTRA DE BANVILLE – Finished 6th last time out in class A at Vincennes over 2700m on 8 February. Has been better over a shorter distance but has a winning chance
  9. MONA LISA ELLIS – Disqualified last time out at Vincennes on 26 February. Has some fair form and could make the frame
    Summary: MOSTRA DE BANVILLE (8) has been a disappointment at Vincennes of late. She might be at her very best over a shorter distance but can bounce back to beat these rivals over this distance. MIKADO CASTELETS (2) looked promising when scoring on his debut and can double up trying further. MY DREAM DES MONTS (4) was comfortable winner at this track last time out and is clearly not out of it. MICH D’OCCAGNES (3) can make the frame back in a harness race.

    Summary: KIFF L’OSEILLE (10) has been suffering with disqualifications of late but does look a bit better than these rivals if wise this time around. KADOR DES CHAMPS (4) ran well when barefoot last time out and has Eric Raffin in the sulky so should be a threat. KARPANINO (9) was unlucky at Caen earlier this month and can contest the finish if smart. KAMPALA DU DAMIER (7) is improving and would not be a surprise winner.

William Forniglia will nonetheless be legitimately wary of the better-positioned JADE (4) who is close to his race, and a reinvigorated JEDUISANT (5) who starts upsides.     Summary: Sent for a break after winning 2 for 2 last autumn, LUTIN DE LA BESVRE (5) will have come on over the winter and, even though shod for comeback, he is well-placed in front and has every chance of maintaining his perfect record. That being said, LATINUS AVIS (2) gave a good account here on his recent re-entry and racing first-time barefoot can get off the mark. LET IT SNOW (4) failed to complement his own return run but has no shortage of ability and is ideally placed to make amends.     Summary: As complicated as she is talented, MERVEILLEUSE (10) returned from her spell with an excellent effort in Rouen and could well with this if Pierre-Yves Verva keeps her focused. MALICE DELADOU (7), though, showed potential despite being sanctioned on his recent debut. The untried, but well-related, MAFIA (1) qualified nicely at Grosbois during the autumn and is sure to garner support. MAYA GERBEHAYE (8) may not have set off any fireworks when qualifying but she is nicely-bred and Julien Raffestin will be quietly confident.

    Summary: STADE VELODROME (5) is an old boy that is still loving his racing and has posted two creditable efforts at his last two outings which hold him in good stead here. He should post a big challenge. PIERRE LE GRAND (1) returned to winning ways with a gusty victory and that win could have only boosted his confidence given that he last tasted success in 2023 and there is every chance he could follow up. ARLINO (3) is holding steady form and was a winner two starts back in a slightly more competitive contest. He will be involved. PRINCE LOS (9) is on the right mark and can challenge for the placings.
