C1 – GRAND PRIX ANGERS LOIRE METROPOLE – 3100m (a2m) – Gr3 Race – Harness – EUR € 64,000

  1. INDY DARK – Hardy element returning from a long layoff, latterly last of 15 in a 2150m Enghien Class A last May, and has no realistic chance
  2. GAI MATIN – Got back in the game when 2nd of 16 in a 2450m Caen Class D on 10 March. Has never failed to deliver for JMB but in this company looks more a minor place chance
  3. IMPERATOR D’ELA – Given an easy return race, finishing last but one behind HASARD D’ERABLE (7) in a 2875m Argentan Class D 2 weeks ago. Excels racing clockwise and has a realistic chance of opening his 2025 account
  4. JUNE – Back under harness after running 5th of 6 finishers in a 2200m Vincennes monté Gr.1 on 1 March. Breaks in front and will be dangerous if form transitions
  5. HASUR DAIRPET – Starts for first time since finishing last of 10 in a 2100m Vincennes Gr.3 on 26 January. Useful in the day’s configuration but is being asked to do too much
  6. HELIOS SI – Has 2 races under his belt, latterly 10th of 12 finishers, a place behind HASARD D’ERABLE (7), in a 2875m Argentan Class D 2 weeks ago. Front pads fitted this time and others easier to back
  7. HASARD D’ERABLE – 9th of 12 finishers in a 2875m Argentan Class D 2 weeks ago. Wonderfully-entered on front line, has been reconfigured for the occasion, and should not be ruled out
  8. HELIOT DE CAHOT – Has not been seen out since running 3rd of 9 in a 2700m Vincennes Gr.3 last August. Front pads fitted and not a concern this time
  9. HALICIA BELLA – Good mare that was strangely disappointing when 12th of 13 behind IGUSKI SAUTONNE (10) in a 2850m Vincennes Class A on 18 February. In conditioning-mode this time and best to hold off
  10. IGUSKI SAUTONNE – Back racing his preferred direction after running 5th of 11 in a 2700m Vincennes Class B late-February. Is new to the venue but is a serious trotter and will be expected to contest the finish
  11. IGREC DE CELLAND – Quality element but has not been seen out since finishing 8th of 14 behind GRACE DU DIGEON (14) in a 2850m Vincennes G.2 in early-December. Shoes on and will need the race
  12. GRECO BELLO – A veritable metronome stepping up in category after winning a 2850m Laval Class A 3 weeks ago. Forced to start on 2nd line but can still play an active role
  13. IBIKI DE HOUELLE – Gave a fine account on his Caen re-entry early last month, coming 2nd of 15 in a 2450m Class D. Boasts an excellent record with his driver and makes his Angers debut with a good hand to play
  14. GRACE DU DIGEON – Last but one behind GRECO BELLO (12) in a 2850m Laval Class A 3 weeks ago. Barefoot this time but still not an obvious choice
  15. GENDREEN – Honest sort that pleasantly surprised when 4th of 14 in a 2100m Vincennes Gr.3 on 25 January. Shod for comeback and will have nothing to contribute
  16. INO DU LUPIN – Unraced since winning a 2700m Vincennes Gr.3 on 11 January. Just front shoes off this time, and has 25m extra to travel, but still has the class to win this
    Summary: Given a break after an exceptional 2024, IMPERATOR D’ELA (3) is barefoot for the 2nd start of the year and from the front row can get straight back down to business. Anthony Barrier will however be wary of two 2nd row starters, the superb INO DU LUPIN (16) who has front shoes off for her comeback, and IGUSKI SAUTONNE (10) who boasts a superb right-handed record. Reassuringly good in a Gr.1 under the saddle a month back, JUNE (4) is no slouch under harness and with no penalty to incur, can play a leading role.

  18. IN THE AIR – Unremarkable element making his first start since finishing 9th of 13 and a 2800m Argentan Class F on 26 December, and can be ruled out
  19. FURY D’EVEL – Disappointing over recent months, latterly 10th of 16 behind GERGOVIE QUESNOT (12) in a 2850m Laval amateurs Class G on 27 February. Well-placed behind the car but chances slim nevertheless
  20. GHOST OF FASHION – Useful trotter making first appearance since being sanctioned in a 2700m Machecoul Class E last November, but is going to need the run
  21. ICONE PLANCHETTE – Returns to the amateur category after finishing last of 9 in a 2450m Caen Class D early last month. Enjoy a good draw, but others still easier to support
  22. INSTAGRAM – Serious sort taking first steps since finishing last of 9 in a 2950m Biarritz Class F last June. Barefoot for comeback but still not a concern
  23. IMPERATRICE HEDEN – Makes first start since finishing 11th of 13 in a 3000m Nantes Class E late-January. In more suitable company this time and can play an active role
  24. HENJOY DE MONGOCHY – A write-off before and after the break, most recently sanctioned in a 2850m Durtal Class E 10 days ago, and has no possible chance
  25. HIPPO DE POMMERAYE – Won a 3200m Fougères amateurs Class H 10 days ago, on first appearance with Michel Poirier. Would have preferred a better draw but must still be respected
  26. HAPPY DE TOUCHYVON – 12th of 14 in a 2700m Graignes Class F 10 days ago. Is clearly in excellent shape though and returns to the amateur division with every chance of imposing
  27. HAXO DE LA CHAULE – Returns to amateur division after running 3rd of 12 in a 2500m Reims Class G 2.5 weeks ago. Is plainly close to his race and should be competitive at the business end of affairs
  28. GERGOVIE QUESNOT – 8th of 16 on comeback in a 2850m Laval amateurs Class G late-February. Will have come on for the run, sports a successful formula, and is worth retaining for a minor place cheque
  29. IMOKO DU BOUILLON – 5th of 16 to HIPPO DE POMMERAYE (9) in a 3200m Fougères amateurs Class H 10 days ago. Races barefoot this time and despite a 2nd-row draw still looks a decent first-5 chance
  30. GALTON SAINT BAR – Has not been seen out since finishing 11th of 15 and a 2800m Argentan amateurs Class F on Boxing Day. Handed a rough draw and can expect to have few friends
  31. GUTENBERG DE DYPP – 9th of 16 to HIPPO DE POMMERAYE (9) in a 3200m Fougères amateurs Class H 10 days ago. Has references in the amateur category but is unlikely to cause an upset on this occasion
  32. HAVANE DE CHENU – Has not been seen out since running 4th of 11 in a 2775m Class E at Les Sables d’Olonne last August. Takes a notable dip in category though and will not be far off the mark if Cyril Baty successfully navigates the start
    Summary: After placing twice in succession, HAPPY DE TOUCHYVON (10) was oddly disappointing at Graignes, but returns to a category in which he has already made his mark and, even though sporting pads this time, can still impose from the second line. IMPERATRICE HEDEN (7) breaks wide, but from the front nonetheless, and reverts to an earlier configuration. HAXO DE LA CHAULE (11) left a good impression on his amateur debut before confirming in the professional ranks, and deserves to be taken seriously. Always game at this level of competition, HIPPO DE POMMERAYE (9) was victorious at Fougères and Michel Poirier is back in the bike.

  35. MON BARTH – Defied his modest qualification to run 2nd of 13 in a 2425m Class F on debut here 11 days ago. Has been handed an excellent draw and Clément Guillon will be eager to make hay
  36. MISTER LOVE QUICK – Would have finished closer than 3rd in a 2550m Reims Class E a fortnight ago had he not briefly lost his action, but has a lot going for him here and Guillaume Martin will be keen to put things right
  37. MOWGLY FRECA – Made up for debut sanction when 5th of 13 in a 2450m Caen Class F on 3 March. Nicely-placed in front and will be expected to bring the fight to MISTER CHARM (6)
  38. MISTER CHARM – 4th of 12 in a 2450m Caen Class F 3 weeks ago. In less-exalted company this time and looks eminently capable of getting off the mark. Claim
  39. MEMPHIS D’ECHAL – Pleasant 2nd on debut before running 5th of 7 finishers in a 2550m Bordeaux Class F on 9 February. Has had ample time to recover and the presence of Paul Ploquin in the bike will only work to his advantage
  40. MISTER DE L’AUMOY – Not disgraced when 7th of 11 in a 2450m Caen Class F on 17 March but still needs to find significantly more
  41. MAESTRO TEJY – Qualified in 1’17″6 at Laval early last month. Not a priority first time out but is worth monitoring all the same
  42. MICKEY ANGEL – 7th of 11 in a 2625m Class G at Paray-le-Monial on debut late last month and needs to show another side
  43. MILLENIUM PEJI – Looked very ordinary when 9th of 13 behind MON BARTH (3) in a 2425m Class F on debut here 11 days ago. Handed a 2nd line draw and is not about to cause an upset
  44. MADISON SEVEN – Qualified in 1’18″8 at Grosbois last September. On back row but will have been specifically prepared for this and has a reasonable chance of imposing at first time of asking
    Summary: MISTER CHARM (6) has given hints but has yet to show his true potential and if applied should have the measure of this bunch. Marginally better-placed on the front line, MOWGLY FRECA (5) showed promise at Caen a month back and should have the wherewithal to give the Dubois colt a run for his money. MADISON SEVEN (12) makes his career debut after having qualified nicely last season and, considering the stable he hails from, is not to be underestimated. MAMBO DRY (1) starts on the rail but left a good impression at Fougères and Benjamin Rochard will be justifiably confident of trotting his way into the money.

  46. LOVELY JIM – Impressive on re-entry at Nantes before missing out by little in a 2450m Caen Class E on 13 March. Handed a good draw and is unlikely to disappoint. Chance
  47. LOVE LETTERS FERM – Sanctioned in a 2175m Vincennes Class E in early-February. Races shod this time and has no realistic chance
  48. LAURIANE DU RIED – Sanctioned twice before running 7th of 13 in a 2875m Enghien Class E last week. Reverts to racing with pads and even though well-drawn, still looks an outsider
  49. LA NUIT JE MENS – Failed to confirm Reims performance when sanctioned in a 2700m Class E at Le Croise-Laroche 9 days ago, but with more luck in running can finish in the mix
  50. LOYALTY – Quality element that was denied a run at Laval on 12 March. Won last time racing clockwise and can make this her own if she gets a good trip
  51. LA MOME DE CAHOT – Easily opened her 2025 tally in a 2200m Caen Class F on 6 March. Sports pads again and Anthony Barrier can be confident of another valiant performance
  52. LYPSIE THONIC – Lost her maiden status in a 2600m Class F at Blain-Bouvron-Le Gâvre 10 days ago. Takes on a better lot this time but is worth retaining all the same
  53. LIBERTINE RUSH – Takes a notable step up the category-ladder after winning a 2550m Class H at Gournay-en-Bray 10 days ago. Hind shoes off this time but may just be biting off too much
  54. LOVE TO RUN – Authoritative winner of a 2900m Amiens Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Steps up in category and with shoes off again must be considered a serious proposition
    Summary: An improving filly that was denied a run at Laval 3 weeks ago, LOYALTY (6) returns to racing right-handed, starts in front, and can bring home the bacon as long as Jean-Philippe Dubois keeps her out of trouble. It’s unlikely to be all plain sailing though considering how well LOVELY JIM (2) has been comporting herself since the winter break. LA MOME DE CAHOT (7) encountered little opposition at Caen early last month and is once again in with a shout, as is the progressive LOVE TO RUN (10) who thrashed the field at Amiens mid-March.

  56. HANIKA DU LUPIN – Won 2 in a row in Paris before being sanctioned in a 2850m Vincennes harness Class D conditioner late last month and Mathieu Mottier will be justifiably confident of a big performance
  57. FERRERO DU LOISIR – Returns to the ridden code after running 6th of 16 in a 2900m Challans harness Class E 10 days ago, but disappointing in last 4 monte starts and can be ruled out
  58. DOWHATYOUDODOWELL – 8th of 15 on re-entry in a 2150m Enghien harness Class C mid-March. The run will have done him good, has fine form in the day’s configuration, and with application can go close
  59. HUIS CLOS (SWE) – 4th of 10 in a 2875m Enghien Class C early last month. Consistently gives what he can and must be considered a contender
  60. HEROS DE BEYLEV – 10th of 11 finishers behind HELLO JADE RUSH (9) in a 2825m Cordemais Class D late-February. Going through a lean patch and is unlikely to influence the outcome
  61. HUGO OCCAGNES – Unseen since finishing last but one in a 2700m Vincennes Class C late-January. Barefoot for re-entry but others still preferred
  62. GLADIATOR BOY – Flattering 5th of 14 in a 2250m Enghien Class C last week and is not about to cause an upset
  63. HELLO JADE RUSH – Drops down the category-ladder after running 7th of 14 in a 2875m Enghien Class B a fortnight ago. Is no champion but nevertheless has the wherewithal to make first 5
  64. IMAGINE D’ATOUT – 4th of 9 behind FLOPY RUSH (12) in a 3000m Chateaubriant Class D early-February. Excels racing clockwise, is barefoot for the first time, and is hard not to like for the win
  65. ERMES DE CORDAY – Distant 5th of 6 in a 2925m Cagnes Class C on 26 February and in this company has no possible chance
  66. FLOPY RUSH – Failed to confirm Chateaubriant performance when sanctioned in a 2825m Cordemais Class D late-February and can be passed over
    Summary: A fine campaigner with an enviable strike-rate, IMAGINE D’ATOUT (10) has never failed to deliver at Angers, races first-time barefoot, and may just be a better bet than IVORINO D’ECHAL (1) who has taken to the ridden discipline like a duck to water. HANIKA DU LUPIN (2) won two at Vincennes in February and, after a harness freshener, returns to Angers barefoot and with a good hand to play. HUIS CLOS (SWE) (5) has been knocking at the door and debuts at the venue with every chance of trotting his way into the frame.

  69. KAID DES CHAMPS – Undeniably useful but starts for the first time since finishing 9th of 16 in a 2875m Enghien Class D mid-October, and is going to need the race
  70. KUROKO LAUAR – Unexceptional sort that ran 6th of 16, at 301/1, in a 2500m Châtelaillon-La Rochelle Class F on 9 March, but a repeat seems improbable
  71. KILDARE – Made it 2 on the trot when comfortably winning a 2150m Mauquenchy Class F last November. Races shod for comeback but is worth keeping an eye on all the same
  72. KOUREION D’ELA – Returns to Angers after coming second of 12 in a 2500m Reims Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Is proven here and with hind shoes off will not be far from the action
  73. KONG – Complicated sort that finished last of 9 on re-entry in a 2550m Gournay-en-Bray Class F 10 days ago and can expect to have few takers
  74. KORIOLIS DE ZIETTE – Ran good 3rd at Cordemais before being sanctioned in a 2850m Maure-de-Bretagne Class E last week. Enjoys a nice entry in front and with his mind on the game should be able to give this a good go. Place chance
  75. KOOL LUDOIS – 7th of 16 in a 2850m Vincennes Class D mid-February. Can trot but with shoes on will face a stiff test
  76. KRONOS DU KLAU – Complicated sort making first appearance since faulting in a 2750m Cabourg monté Class F on 2 January and chances appear limited once more
  77. KAPLA DEVOL – Given a break after running 12th of 15 in a 2100m Vincennes Class D early-December. Has otherwise nothing to prove at this level and with Matthieu Abrivard reining is unlikely to be far off the mark
  78. KANGOUROU – Makes Angers debut after running 8th of 16, a place behind KOOL LUDOIS (9), in a 2850m Vincennes Class D mid-February, and is clearly being aimed too high
  79. KAISER DE MORTREE – Has started to get back in the game, most recently running 3rd of 15 in a 2850m Maure-de-Bretagne Class E last week. Is clearly on the right road and with hind shoes off, should not be underestimated
  80. KORRIGAN OLIVERIE – Has not been seen out since coming 5th of 12 in a 2700m Vincennes monte Class C last September. Has other plans and can be passed over
  81. KADOR D’OURVILLE – Made up for Caen blip when 2nd of 15 in a 2850m Maure-de-Bretagne Class E last week. Ideally-engaged here and makes his Angers debut with a good hand to play
  82. KELYO DU SOLNAN – 7th of 14 in a 2850m Laval Class E on 12 March. Has a lot going for him this time, has already imposed at the venue, and can make this his own
    Summary: Barefoot and reunited with Anthony Barrier, with whom he secured his last 2 successes, GRACE DU DIGEON (14) is well-engaged here and can finally get the 2025 victory-train rolling. Principal opposition will come from the similarly-well-entered KADOR D’OURVILLE (15) who redeemed himself at Maure-de-Bretagne, and the serious KORIOLIS DE ZIETTE (8) who lost his action that day, but who is ideally-positioned in front. Winner at Challans 3.5 weeks ago, KAIROS DU PERCHE (2) races without hind shoes, receives a Mathieu Mottier drive this time, and will be no pushover if applied.

  85. JINGLE PACA – Runner-up in 5 before coming 5th of 12 in a 2700m Class E at Lyon-La Soie late-February. Races barefoot this time and has a decent chance of finishing close
  86. ISAC DE LA DIVE – Secured the hat-trick in a 2850m Bagnoles-de-l’Orne Class H last August. In better company this time and would be preferred on turf
  87. JULIANA BREIL – 4th of 13 in a 2200m Caen harness Class E on 10 March. Has not delivered in 3 ridden starts but is in flying form and has been reconfigured. Attention
  88. IVANHOE DU CLOS – Unraced since dominating a 2625m Agen Class G on 22 January. Is shod to preference and, if still on the boil, can give JULLOU (15) a run for his money
  89. JIKITA MELRIC – Back in the discipline after coming last of 12 in a 2875m Enghien harness Class E mid-March. Has solid ridden credentials, appreciates Angers, and barefoot for the occasion, looks a player
  90. JANTARA DESBOIS – Imposed under harness in Bordeaux prior to coming 2nd of 12 to IDOLE DE BEYLEV (11) in a 2625m Agen monte Class F 10 days ago. Is plainly close to her race and even in this company will have her chances
  91. JASMINE DE FORGAN – Sanctioned in a 2850m Maure Class F last week. Sports 4 pads for first time but others easier to recommend
  92. JUST IN LOVE – Was expected to finish closer than 4th of 8 finishers in a 2450m Caen Class D a month ago. Won her previous 2 though and Paul Ploquin will be confident of a big run
  93. IDOLE DE BEYLEV – Fine servant that comfortably won a 2625m Agen Class F 10 days ago. Takes on a better lot this time but is still competitive for a minor place payout
  94. HARPAGOS RULES – Back in a code he has little flair for after finishing 8th of 16 in a 2700m Machecoul harness amateurs Class G a month ago, and can be passed over
  95. ISATIS DES TOUCHES – Has been in decent shape lately, most recently running 5th of 12, a place behind INTREPIDE NEMO (2), in a 3000m Nantes Class F on 18 February, but will struggle to make his mark this time
  96. INDIGODARCHE – Imposed at Bihorel-lès-Rouen before finishing 7th of 12 in a 2450m Caen Class F 3 weeks ago, and others easier to back
  97. JULLOU – Switches codes after being sanctioned in a 2875m Meslay harness Class E a fortnight ago. Flew up on lone ridden appearance and even in the absence of Eric Raffin, can still win this
    Summary: Winner of his only monte start, the complicated but well-engaged JULLOU (15) returns to the code following two harness sanctions and, with his mind on the game, can have his day in the sun. That being said, he will have to take on the tough IVANHOE DU CLOS (6) who, despite not having raced for over 2 months, still bids for the monte 6-timer. JUST IN LOVE (10) is a tough nut to crack when focused and with a better trip can contest the finish. JANTARA DESBOIS (8) has never imposed in this branch of the game but in current condition is very easy to like.

  102. JOLIE COKTAIL – Quality element making first appearance since being sanctioned in a 2700m Vincennes Class C last August. Is shod for re-entry though and best to hold off
  103. IN LOVE DE BLARY – Unraced since finishing last of 9 in a 2700m Vincennes monté Class D late-November. Reliability not her strong suit though and has never delivered racing clockwise
  104. JOYCE DELTO – Tough mare making first start since running 5th of 12 in a 2750m Cabourg Class A last August. Shoes on for re-entry but in this category must be taken seriously

  41. HAUTE GAMME – Unreliable and finished 7th last time out in a handicap at Chantilly over 1900m on 17 March. Needs to do a bit more to beat these rivals.
  42. AFRICAN GREY – Has really struggled of late and was 13th last time out in a handicap at Toulouse over this distance on 3 March. Others are preferred
    Summary: HENRY THE LION (5) did not show his best on a heavy track last month. From a good draw and on firmer ground, he can bounce back to score. DENISJONH (3) is in good shape and should fight out the finish yet again. VA S’Y MIX (6) is unreliable but capable of a good finishing run when in the mood. NORDESTE (2) will like it back on the grass and could be the surprise package of the race.

    Summary: A very open-looking handicap where anything is possible. VALINA (3) was a good winner at Pau and can carry a penalty to victory, but she will need to show that form on the turf this time. TORNILLA (1) ran better than her last run would suggest and can be a lively danger in this line-up. ALEXEJ (7) should prefer it back on the turf and is not out of it. LOUIS SKI (9) is also capable of getting into the mix.

    Summary: BRESSLAND (4) only found one better on debut last month. She looks likely to beat these rivals with improvement expected. MAESTRO D’AUBRELLE (2) has a strong maternal line and could be a serious threat on debut. AZAAN DE ROCHE (5) is likely to have learned from his debut last month and could contest the finish. ROMAN SKIES (1) ran well on his hurdles debut and can get involved in the finish.

    Summary: VICTORY CAT (8) is better drawn this time and can overturn her recent defeat by CHARM KING (2). His recent form is good, and CHARM KING (2) will not go down without a fight. VICTORY CAT (8) liked it back on the grass and has run well over this particular track and trip. ODIN (6) remains in good shape and can fight out the finish yet again. RICHMOND (4) is not reliable but looks like the type that will improve with blinkers this time.

    Summary: KIRCHNER (2) has shown talent and was not disgraced at Pau. He returns from a break but can quicken nicely and should prove hard to beat in this small field. STARNBERG (4) has been very consistent so far and will not go down easily. BULNES (1) has not done much wrong and was a Listed winner, but he does have to give some smart rivals weight. DUMONET (6) won both starts last year and could be anything.

    Summary: MONEER (4) showed talent when runner-up at Toulouse on debut. He returns from a break, but if fit and well, he can secure a lucky last race victory. BASHEQ (3) has faced a couple of stable companions who beat him but will not go down without challenging for top honours. BEHOOR AL SHAHANIA (11) is a well-bred filly who could be ready for a strong debut. SHA’AN (5) tries blinkers and could improve.
