C1 – PRIX DE LA VILLE D’EAUBONNE (PX SORBONNE) – 2875m (a2m) – Class D Race – Mounted – EUR € 40,000

  1. LAZIE PONT VAUTIER – Disqualified in her last three starts, the latest at La Capelle on 6 April. Hard to trust and is probably best watched for now.
  2. LUXELLA – Only modest form this year and was sixth last time out in a Class F mounted race at Laval over 2850m on 29 March. Needs to do a bit more to win.
  3. LADY DES CHAMPS – Has major disqualification issues but was victorious last time out in a Class F Mounted race at Graignes over 2700m on 3 April. Can follow up if in the same mood
  4. LA SOL FA – Disqualified last time out at Meslay-du-Maine on 18 March. Needs to find a few lengths to win this race
  5. LADY D’ECOTAY – Disqualified in her last four starts, with the latest being at Angers on 3 April. Can surprise if wise
  6. LUXUEUSE DANICA – Much improved since goind barefoot and was third in a Class E Mounted race at Caen over 2450m on 26 March. Be right there at the finish yet again
  7. LUNE ROSE D’ALESA – Disappointing last run when 8th in Class D at Vincennes over 2100m on 4 April. Tries a Mounted race and could improve
  8. LELIA FRANCE – A runner-up in her last three starts, with the latest being in a Class E Mounted race at Caen over 2450m on 26 March. Should fight out the finish
  9. LECTINA – Needed her only start of the year and was tenth in Class E at Caen over 240m on 31 March. Barefoot and could score back under the saddle
    Summary: LECTINA (9) showed plenty of ability at Vincennes last winter and runs barefoot for the first time this Saturday. She looks very hard to oppose. LELIA FRANCE (8) has made significant progress since switching to mounted races and should go very close once again. LUXUEUSE DANICA (6) was a disappointing third at Caen last time but remains well-regarded and is capable of playing a major role in the finish. A runaway winner at Graignes last time out, LADY DES CHAMPS (3) looks to have more to offer and should not be underestimated.

  17. MARADONA ELLIS – Disqualified last time out at Vincennes on 1 April. In good form before that and can bounce back to score
  18. MAFIATIME DUCAMPUS – Not disgraced when 5th last time in Class A at Cagnes-sur-Mer over 2925m on 7 March. Can contest the finish
  19. MELCHIOR JAMES – Unreliable but did not run too badly when fourth in Class B at Vincennes over 2850m on 26 February. Might play a minor roe
    Summary: MARADONA ELLIS (8) has performed well over this course and distance before and is expected to bounce back from his below-par latest effort. He gets a narrow vote ahead of MURO (5), a talented trotter who also has some behavioral quirks. MISTER YELLOW (1) impressed when getting off the mark at Rouen and looks capable of following up with further improvement. MORE AND MORE (3) is knocking on the door and looks poised to break through sooner rather than later.

    Summary: RIKITA JP (6) was an easy winner of the benchmark race at Vincennes over 2100 meters and looks capable of following up despite the step up in trip. KARAMBAR (8) impressed when scoring at Vincennes last time and, although he keeps all of his shoes on this time, he remains very hard to ignore. EXPRESS D’ARC (3) is a reliable performer who can make his presence felt if he maintains his stride. KILLIAM FROMENTRO (10) runs with a new shoeing arrangement and could cause an upset.

  43. INDUS VAL – Finished third in a Group 3 at Salon-de-Provence over 3000m on 26 March when barefoot. Won earlier in March and can be competitive yet again
  44. GYS – Finished 9th in a Group 3 at Reims over 2550m on 9 April. Unreliable and needs to find a few lengths to win
  45. GUERRIER CASTELETS – In good form and was runner-up in class C at Vincennes over 2100m on 5 April when barefoot. Can make the frame
  46. ENJOY THE GAME – Unreliable but was runner-up in class C at Enghien over 2150m on 14 March. Remains barefoot but is on a long losing streak. Place chance
    Summary: Effective in both codes, in good form, and a previous winner over this course and distance, EROS ZOLA (1) has plenty in his favor and is the selection here. He is preferred to the consistent HARISON DU PLESSIS (2), who ran a solid third in his only previous attempt over this track and trip. ISTER MAN (3) finished behind these two rivals two starts ago and, in similar form, should be in the mix once again. A game sixth in a competitive Class B at Vincennes last time out, ILAYA (4) must be considered a solid each-way contender. INDUS VAL (13) arrives at the top of his game, having won over this course and distance last month.

  61. LOVI CADENCE – Not disgraced when fouth in class D at Vincennes over 2200m on 8 April. Has shown improvement and could earn some minor money
  62. LAST DES BROUSSES – Disqualified in class D at Vincennes over 2700m on 28 March. Unreliable and others make more appeal in this line-up
    Summary: LORD FROMENTRO (2) has plenty of ability and can win a race of this caliber if he manages to get away cleanly. LEXCELLENT DU METZ (12) has shown significant improvement in his behavior in recent outings and looks a strong alternative should the selection underperform. Reunited with top driver Eric Raffin, LEBOSS D’HAVAROCHE (3) is one to monitor very closely. LOUIS QUATORZE (1) showed a nice return to form at Angers and has claims based on that performance.

  65. HUSSARD DU LANDRET – Not at all disgraced when fifth last time out in a Group 2 at Vincennes over 2700m on 5 April. Probably better over further but could play a minor role
  66. ETONNANT – In good shape and was fourth last time out in a Group 2 at Vincennes over 2700m on 5 April. Back on the right path and would not be a surprise winner
  67. HOOKER BERRY – Has struggled of late and was 11th in a Group 2 at Vincennes over 2700m on 5 April. Must reaffirm but Eric Raffin in the kart is worth noting
  68. AMPIA MEDE SM – Unreliable this year but did run well when third in a Group 1 at Cagnes-sur-Mer over 1609m on 9 March. Better over that distance and can get a look in
  69. GO ON BOY – Disqualified last time out at Cagnes-sur-Mer on 9 March. Lethal over this distance and can bounce back to score if wise
  70. HOHNECK – Returned from a break with a victory in a Class D at Caen over 2200m on 13 March. Up in grade but boasts top class form and has every chance
  71. JOUMBA DE GUEZ – Disappointing last run when sixth in a Group 2 at Vincennes over 2700m on 5 April. Better over further but is not out of it
  72. IGUSKI SAUTONNE – Disqualified last time out at Angers on 2 April. Did better last year and needs to show vast improvement to score
  73. FAKIR DE MAHEY – In good shape and finished fourth in his latest start, a Group 3 at Vincennes over 2850m on 22 March. In similar form can pick up some prize money
  74. EAST ASIA – Very consistent and was third last time out in a Group 3 at Vincennes over 2700m on 1 March. Group 1-placed at Vincennes this winter and should make a bold bid this time
    Summary: EMERAUDE DE BAIS (2) produced an impressive winning performance in the G1 Critérium de Vitesse at Cagnes-sur-Mer in early March. She backed that up with a strong run at Vincennes last time out and, from an ideal starting berth, looks poised to make a big impact once again. GO ON BOY (7) is a top-class performer looking for redemption after a disappointing effort and would not be a surprise winner. Runner-up in this race last year, HOHNECK (8) is very effective over this distance and should be right in the thick of things once more. Veteran ETONNANT (4) appears to be back to his best and cannot be discounted.

    Summary: LEARN TO FLY (5) scored comfortably in a Group 3 on his first run under this shoeing configuration and can follow up. LUCIANO MENUET (9) boasts the strongest overall form and is expected to bounce back sooner or later. LITTLE BROWN (6) comes into this race off an excellent effort at Vincennes and, although better suited to longer distances, cannot be dismissed lightly. Barefoot for the first time, LOVER MAN (1) could have more to offer.

    Summary: NINEPOINTS LASSE (3) suffered his first defeat at Salon de Provence in six attempts on French soil. He can be forgiven for that and deserves another chance. IMAGINE D’ATOUT (12) scored impressively last time out, and although running with slightly different shoeing, she can be competitive again. IMPERIAL COGLAIS (10) has been a model of consistency in this discipline and is a must for the shortlist. HUIS CLOS (SWE) (4) can be excused for his last run and also deserves another chance.

KOWEIT DE CHENU (7) can be difficult to handle but possesses plenty of ability and could spring a surprise.

    Summary: HORNIG (1) looks like the first string of the Jean Claude Rouget pair, and he can make a winning debut. NOBLE D’ARGENT (5) could be the one to shake up the selection. His dam was a three-time winner, and he has a speedy profile. He will be well-tuned by his connections. MATAKI (4) is also from the Rouget yard and would not surprise if he were to beat his stablemate. He can have a say at the business end. MEFIE TOI (3) is worth a market check.

WARELIA (1) is not reliable but handles this distance well and must be given respect. BURLINGTON ARCADE (3) is in very good form and will not go down easily. ALGECIRAS (10) can also contest the finish.
