O SOLE MIO (7) has not won for some time now but is capable of contesting the finish if at his best. SCHUMAN (6) carries a penalty and tackles stronger opposition but cannot be ruled out from a follow-up success. SECRET WOOD (4) was unlucky last time out in a Listed race and can be a danger. R2 CABOURG [R-H]
C1 – PRIX DE BERNESQ – 2750m (a1m1/2) – Class E – Mounted – EUR € 26,000
- KIMY SIMARDIERE – Has demonstrated respectable aptitude for the discipline, latterly 5th in a 3150m Saint-Brieuc Class E on 5 December. Goes barefoot this time but others still preferred
- KILLIE EILISH – Quality mare with just the one race under her belt since last month’s comeback. Is still in conditioning-mode though and best to hold off
- LOU D’ECROVILLE – Delicate but has ample ability and is unbeaten under the saddle here. Has imposed at Cabourg in the day’s configuration but would still be preferred barefoot
- LEVADIA – Has struggled over recent months but did win her only Cabourg start. Is shod as she was then, but still not easy to make a case
- LA SCUPICCIA – Classy mare making first appearance since winning a Vincennes Class E in late-November. Imposed last time here and has every chance of doubling up
- KENTUCKY DU CAIEU – Has undeniable ability but is as complicated as they get, most recently going well when eliminated at Vincennes on Christmas Day. Is confirmed in the day’s configuration and on good behaviour can get a look in
- KAISER LATAL – Debuted nicely under the saddle at Caen in mid-November, and then confirmed in the other code a fortnight later. Prepared for this under harness at Argentan and Arthur Rebeche gets the nod this time. Place chance
- LANNISTER D’AVRIL – Leaving harness claiming division for return to the monte code. Stays shod and is unlikely to spice things up
- LITYGE DE CYM – Returns to a track he appreciates after running 5th of 12 in a 2700m Vincennes Class D on 7 December. Is unlikely to spring any surprises but reverts to racing with 4 pads and has the wherewithal to make first 5
- L’ARTISTE ZEN – Good, consistent element making Cabourg debut after a surprisingly lacklustre run at Cagnes-sur-Mer a fortnight ago. Should not be too hastily-condemned and is expected to bounce back and finish close
- LADY DE SAFRAN – Useful filly taking first competitive ridden steps after a re-entry run under harness at Vincennes 3 weeks ago. Clement Frecelle aboard for the occasion and will be expecting to fill one of the steps on the podium
- KARINE DU DOLLAR – Returns to her code of preference after prepping under harness at Nantes early last month. Likes Cabourg conditions and with application can finish in the mix
- KILOU – Debuts under the saddle after a couple of disappointments under harness. Can trot on a good day and is certainly worth keeping an eye on
Summary: Even though late to see the racetrack, LA SCUPICCIA (5) has more than made up for it with some excellent performances in both disciplines. She has looked even better under the saddle than she did under harness and, already a winner here, is going to take all the beating. Mathieu Mottier will still be keeping an eye on L’ARTISTE ZEN (10) who has yet to disappoint for Alexandre Abrivard, and KAISER LATAL (7) who showed significant promise first time in the code. LADY DE SAFRAN (11) may be new to the discipline but has shown considerable ability under harness and deserves to be taken seriously.

C2 – PRIX DE BRICQUEVILLE – 2050m (a1m1/4) – Class D – Harness – EUR € 21,000 - NICE TO SEE YOU – Showed early promise but has struggled of late, latterly unplaced in a Vincennes Class C 3 weeks ago. In less-exalted company this time and should prove significantly more competitive. Chance
- NANA DU LEVANT – Showed marked improvement when 2nd of 12 in a Laval Class F over the same trip on 7 December. Races clockwise for just the 2nd time but deserves to take her chances here and is unlikely to disappoint. First 5
- NAXOS DIBAH – Talented colt that was quickly eliminated in a 2750m Class D here on 22 December. Is entrusted to Yoann Lebourgeois for the first time and will be dangerous if his driver assures his charge’s initial strides
- NOTTINGHAM FIRST – Sprang a 113-1 surprise when 2nd of 12 in a 2750m Class E on debut here early last month. Will have come on for the run and in similar form can challenge for a place in the frame
- NETCHE BEST – Courageous 2nd of 10 in a 2700m Graignes Class E 3 weeks ago. Has yet to make his mark racing right-handed but with form maintained will not be far from the action
- NAGODA – Back under harness after finishing 5th of 6 in a 2225m Vire monte Class F on 7 December and is not about to make any waves
- NINA DE LA DUNE – Belied unexceptional qualification when victorious early last month at Nantes, first time out. She takes on the boys this time but still looks the one to beat
- NUAGE MYSTIC – Unremarkable in qualification last July and eliminated on debut at Argentan on 14 December. Not ideally-drawn and is unlikely to generate much interest
- NOSTALGIE CENE – Starts for the first time since faulting on debut 2 months ago. Starts on back line and cannot be considered a priority
Summary: NINA DE LA DUNE (7) showed considerable courage to win her Nantes debut in early-December; she will have progressed for the run, has had ample time to get back in shape, and despite the wide draw can double her money. NICE TO SEE YOU (1) takes on a more reasonable bunch than he did at Vincennes and with Alexandre Abrivard in the bike will be afforded every chance. NAXOS DIBAH (3) is clearly in excellent form and could well make a big splash if he gets off on the right foot. NOTTINGHAM FIRST (4) defied his odds here in early-December and must be taken more seriously on this occasion.

C3 – PRIX DE PICAUVILLE – 2725m (a1m1/2) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 22,000 - MITSY DU NOYER – Handy filly sent for a break after flopping at Toulouse in September. Is a winner going right-handed but still best to hold off
- MANHATTAN FRANCE – Unraced since comfortably winning a 2675m Class E at Le Mont-Saint-Michel on 7 September. Has progress written all over her and, although possibly a race shy, will be unshod-behind and competitive for a first-5 cheque
- MIRELLA DE LOU – Back to racing right-handed after a brace of Vincennes disappointments since the spell. Was not disgraced here during the summer but cannot be considered a player
- MARAVIGLIA – Serious filly that should not be condemned for being eliminated at Vincennes in late-November. Should take well to Cabourg conditions and the engagement of Yoann Lebourgeois will do her prospects no harm. Claim
- MELODY DELADOU – Has not been seen out since coming 5th in a 2750m Class D here in late-July. Has some ability but is unlikely to shake things up on first start back
- MATA HARI – Returns to the provinces after twice failing to deliver at Vincennes. Has no clockwise references but if applied, and if she turns, should not be too far off the mark
- MAYA DES CAILLONS – Starts for the first time since winning a 2750m monte Class E here on 25 October. Here for reasons of conditioning and can be passed over
- MELODIE D’AMOUR – Showed early promise but unplaced in 3 this term, most recently a monte freshener at Vincennes on Christmas Day. Races barefoot for the first time though and will be worth monitoring
- MISS IS DU CANET – Sent for a break in September following a pair of unproductive runs in the capital. Pleased on sole Cabourg run but is still going to need the race
- MAKITA BERRY – Has turned a corner over recent months, latterly 3rd in a 2575m Saint-Brieuc Class E on 5 December. Clearly has considerable progress in her and should be able to bring the fight to MARAVIGLIA (4)
- MANOLA DE MUZE – Never far from losing her action but showed her form when 2nd of 11 in a Class E over 2750m here early last month. Is forced to break on the 2nd line this time but still has the wherewithal to finish in the mix
- MISS SMART – Got straight down to business on comeback, winning a 2400m Amiens Class F on 13 November. Will be even more performant with shoes off and despite the draw must not be underestimated
- MEGAFLECHE – Good future prospect with a a pair of runs under her belt after 5.5 months off. Has already won twice going clockwise and, if fully-fit, can play a prominent role
- MAUNY DE PLAY – Lost her action on comeback in a 2700m Vincennes Class E on 5 December. Has pulled a rough number but is no slouch on a good day and, with some luck in running, can play a small part
Summary: Solid in Bordeaux on her return to competition, MARAVIGLIA (4) lost her action in Paris next time, but will be fit by now, has nothing to prove at this level, sports a competitive configuration, and from the 4-spot will be hard to oppose. MAKITA BERRY (10) has started to come into herself over recent weeks, races first-time barefoot, and will be no pushover if Tony Le Beller positions her early. MISS SMART (12) did not skip a beat on her November re-entry and with shoes off this time will be competitive at the business end of the race. MEGAFLECHE (13) starts beside her on the back row, will also be barefoot for her Cabourg bow, and will have a lot to contribute if she takes to the new conditions.

C4 – PRIX DE MATHIEU – 2725m (a1m1/2) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 22,000 - MACBETH – Useful sort that has not been seen out since being pulled-up at Enghien last July. Is proven in good company and it would be no surprise to see him play an active part
- MALOU DU BOIS – 4th of 12, a place behind MIKI DU POMMEREUX (11) in a Bordeaux Class E on 22 December. Enjoys a decent spot on front line, runs unshod-behind, and with form maintained should not let the side down
- MIGHTY DREAM – Was unable to confirm November performance when eliminated at Bordeaux a week ago. Form is not in question though and the draw will only work to his advantage
- MITCH DE GRANOU – 7th of 9 behind MONSEIGNEUR MADRIK (7) on re-entry at Vincennes 2 weeks ago. Is preparing for a monte campaign and can be passed over
- MASSILIO BLOND – Disappointing on the whole over recent months. Front shoes off for the first time but still not a concern
- MILANO DARLING – Progressive colt that just missed out on the 3-timer when close 2nd in a 2800m Argentan Class E 10 days ago. Takes on some better horses this time but on current trajectory is easy to like for a place in the frame
- MONSEIGNEUR MADRIK – Imposed at Graignes before uneasily finishing 4th in a 2100m Vincennes Class E a fortnight ago. Will have come on for the run though and with front pads fitted this time will be a tough nut to crack
- MAGIC D’ESPACE – Lightly-raced element starting for first time since May. Will have been prepared for this and even though not a priority will have his supporters
- MEDICI DE BUSSET – Honest colt with solid clockwise references. Unraced since August and is going to need the outing
- MULTIPASS – Failed to confirm Toulouse performance when last but one in a Vincennes Class E early last month. Placed last time here but appears to have too much to do this time around
- MIKI DU POMMEREUX – Left a good impression when 3rd in a Bordeaux Class E on 22 December. Hind shoes off this time, with Yoann Lebourgeois in the bike, and will be expected to play an active role
- MAMBO ITALIANO – Useful in both codes but has not been seen out since last June and will be race-rusty
- MAJOR DU GOUTIER – Complicated but talented colt that has won 2 of 3 going clockwise. Handed a rough draw but is clearly fit and with application will have a realistic chance of imposing
Summary: A quality colt with bags of untapped potential, MONSEIGNEUR MADRIK (7) races competitively-shod for the first time and should be able to wrap this up if he keeps his action together. MAJOR DU GOUTIER (13) is still rather green, presents solid clockwise credentials, and with front shoes off can apply the pressure. MILANO DARLING (6) improves with every run, starts in front, has been reconfigured, and the Cabourg profile should suit him to a tee. Better-positioned behind the car, MIGHTY DREAM (3) is unlikely to disappoint if he keeps his action together.

C5 – PRIX DE COLOMBIERES – 2750m (a1m1/2) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 22,000 - LADY MYSTIC – Put in quite the performance here 11 days ago, on debut for new stable, after losing her action early. Is plainly close to her race though and with application can win for the first time in 2 years
- LADY DE JANEIRO – Reassured at Caen in October but failed to confirm on 13 November when quickly eliminated at Amiens, and is unlikely to have many friends
- LYLOU DES THUYAS – Returns to the provinces after failing to fire in the capital recently. Here for reasons of conditioning and can be passed over
- LA MOME DE CAHOT – Never far from losing her action but is hard to knock when focused. Has 3 runs under her belt and even though shod still looks competitive for a cheque
- LINA DU RIB – Quality mare with just the one run under her belt since the summer. Remains shod and best to keep one’s powder dry
- LA BELLE MIKA – Travels to Cabourg after running 3rd of 13 in a 2050m Class E at Lyon-La Soie on 10 December. Has little love for Cabourg though and others easier to back
- LOUVE DE BAIS – Produced a fine performance to secure a 2700m Vincennes Class E early last month. Shoes back on here but should not be overlooked
- LEA GIBUS – Just once out of first 2 when applied. Won last 2 in good order and can complete the 3-timer if she handles Cabourg’s profile
- LA CALLAS – Has gone from strength to strength lately, most recently 3rd in a 2725m Class E here 2.5 weeks ago. Is unlikely to repeat but should nonetheless acquit herself honourably
- LUNE DU DOUET – Unexceptional mare with better prospects in the claiming division and can be confidently disregarded
- LOVELY TO SEE YOU – Should not be hastily-judged for coming 3rd in a 2725m Class E here on 16 December. Is clearly in fine fettle and, considering the entry, will not be far off the mark
- LAIA D’AVRIL – Starts for first time since disappointing at Vincennes in mid-November. Has yet to be beaten when barefoot racing clockwise, but looks more a minor place chance this time around
- LUTECE D’OUVILLE – Mixes the good with the less good but returned to victorious ways at Graignes 3 weeks ago and the entry will do her chances no harm
Summary: Complicated she may be but LADY MYSTIC (1) could well have had her way here late last month had she not lost her action. Her performance will have nevertheless pleased her new trainer who will be determined to set the record straight. That said, LEA GIBUS (8) returns to the venue on a hat-trick and with application will be no shrinking violet. LOVELY TO SEE YOU (11) gave a good account here recently and should again contest a place on the podium. LA MOME DE CAHOT (4) races shod but is better than most here, and with Mathieu Mottier reining is unlikely to let the side down.

C6 – PRIX DE NEGREVILLE – 2750m (a1m1/2) – Class F – Mounted – EUR € 29,000 - JANE HUDSON – Never far from elimination but has solid monte references. Is new to Cabourg but is clearly in competition-mode and, if applied, can play a prominent part
- JADE VENESI – Produced best monte performance to date when 2nd to JACK QUICK (5) over track and trip on 22 December. Has ground to make up but can still figure prominently
- ISA DES LANDES – 5th to INFINITIF D’ERABLE (4) in a 2875m Argentan Class F on monte debut 10 days ago. Runs back relatively quickly but faces a stiffer test on this occasion
- INFINITIF D’ERABLE – Gave a fine account on monte debut at Argentan 10 days ago when 2nd in a Class F. Will have come on for the run and should not be far off the mark
- JACK QUICK – Has won in both disciplines this term, latterly flying up in a Class E under these conditions on 22 December. Mathieu Mottier in the irons this time and the double will be well within his reach
- JIZUKE JIEL – Has not raced since completing the hat-trick in Strasbourg on 24 October. Will have been prepared for this though, has already won here this year, and must be considered a serious player
- JANICK DU VIVIER – Excellent during the autumn but has since lost her way and latest effort in race of reference found her wanting
- JOYEUX MESLOIS – Has little ridden experience but ran 4th to JACK QUICK (5) over course and distance on 22 December. Is not about to create an upset but can still get in on the action
- JAMES OF CARLY – Has ample ability but came off the boil in October and will first need to re-establish his credentials
- JURAC DE VALFORG – Good servant taking to the monte discipline for the first time. Has been showing his form this term and has every chance of getting straight down to business
Summary: A fine campaigner under harness, JURAC DE VALFORG (10) has been reconfigured for his monte bow and at just 20 Euros from elimination, he is easy to fancy for the win. Clement Frecelle will need to be mindful though of JACK QUICK (5) who opened his ridden account over course and distance just 11 days ago, and the returning JIZUKE JIEL (6) who comes here on a 4-timer. Reliability may not be her strong suit but JANE HUDSON (1) has nothing to prove in this branch of the business and will be barefoot for her first goal of the winter.

C7 – PRIX DE TREVIERES – 2750m (a1m1/2) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 22,000 - LOOKING DU CAIEU – Won at Chartres on comeback but eliminated in next 2. Sports front pads for the first time but others still easier to trust
- LOVE DE BELLOUET – Winner of a monte Class F over course and distance on 6 December. Has never delivered under harness here however and is not about to start now
- LOKY DE JIEL – Quality individual but has not been seen out since October 2024 and is going to need the race
- LEADER DE CERISY – Moderate type that has placed in both Cabourg starts, but failed to convince on re-entry in Mons and can expect to have few takers
- LESS TIME – Starts for the first time since mid-October. Has buckets of ability though, sports front shoes for the occasion, and with application is unlikely to disappoint
- LOUSTIC DE FLAM – Unbeaten in 3 starts for new trainer and has improved for every run. Clearly has a lot more to give and is in with a realistic shout of making it 4 on the trot
- LOUPIAC DE GODREL – Unexceptional sort that tends to show more at a lower level and will have little to offer
- L’AS DES CARAIBES – Gave a fine account of himself at Le Mans last month, coming 3rd of 17 in a 2950m Class F. Esteban De Jesus in the bike this time and can be confident of a big performance
- LOVER DE CHENU – Has been enjoying a decent run of form, most recently coming 5th in a Saint-Brieuc Class F. Is not about to get his head in front but is certainly good enough to make first 5
- LEADER BEACH – Serious trotter with nothing to prove at this level but is shod for re-entry and can be ignored
- LAPIN AGILE – Has so far failed this term to show the form he displayed during the summer, and is not easy to recommend
- LOVE ACTUALLY – Has a tendency to lose focus but is a serious trotter for the most part. Flew up in Bordeaux, is particularly well-engaged here, and has a decent chance of confirming
- LITTLE KING – Not the calmest of trotters and has never delivered here, but enjoys a good entry, will be unshod-behind for the first time, and cannot be ruled out
Summary: Like a horse transformed since moving yards, LOUSTIC DE FLAM (6) makes his Cabourg debut on a 4-timer and, already a winner with Yoann Lebourgeois reining, can add another to his tally. It is unlikely to be all plain sailing though considering how well LOVE ACTUALLY (12) has taken to racing barefoot. L’AS DES CARAIBES (8) showed a different side to himself at Le Mans in mid-December and will be similarly-shod here. LESS TIME (5) can prove something of a handful, and has not been seen out for 2.5 months, but has been reconfigured and, if sufficiently-fit, can finish in the mix.

C8 – PRIX DE VIERVILLE-SUR-MER – 2725m (a1m1/2) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 33,000 - JAGUAR DE LAUMAC – Honest element that has been putting in some fast times recently. Was particularly encouraging at Amiens and is not incapable of contesting the finish this time
- JOMA OV – Quality mare making first appearance since imposing at La Capelle last June. Races shod and best to wait
- JUNKIES MINDS – Like a horse reborn in late-summer and is hard to fault when barefoot. Has yet to deliver at Cabourg but under these conditions has no excuse
- INEDIT DU PAVILLON – Made up for Châtelaillon blip when 3rd in a Nantes Class E on 7 December. Antonin André at the helm once more and, from the 4-spot, is easy to like for a first-5 cheque
- HELIOS BONBON – Pleasant 5th in Bordeaux on 16 December but failed to finish 10 days later. Goes barefoot this time but others still easier to trust
- GRANIT DU MONT – Disappointing on the whole for last 9 months. Fitted with pads this time and has no possible chance
- HORSERIS – Honest sort that has done nothing but improve lately. Is as competent racing right-handed as left- but may just be taking on too much this time
- JETLAG DE BEAUFOUR – Ran 4th over course and distance 2.5 weeks ago, then won in the amateur division in Bordeaux. Shoes on again though and others preferred
- HERDUNO – Capable on a good day but has looked ordinary lately and from the 2nd row will have nothing to contribute
- JETPACK – Has shown improvement since returning to a previous formula. Gave an excellent account in a Quinte on his sole Cabourg start and even from the 2nd row can make his presence felt
- HIBISCUS NORMAND – Faces first objective of the winter after a trio of conditioners. Is barefoot for the occasion, has fine Cabourg form, and even from the back row could pleasantly surprise
- INTELLO D’ERABLE – Held his own in a Vincennes Class D before acquitting himself well at Angers. Has yet to deliver for his driver but it is just a matter of time. Place chance
- IZIASLAV TEK – Imposed at Argentan before being denied a run in Bordeaux. Goes particularly well for Tony Le Beller and despite the draw must be considered a contender
- JALDO D’OCQUE – Has a pair of runs under his belt after 3 months off. Has pulled a rough number but is reunited with Francois Lagadeuc who placed with him at Le Mont-Saint-Michel during the summer, and will have his supporters
Summary: In cracking form before being sent for a spell in October, JUNKIES MINDS (3) goes barefoot from the 3-spot following a mid-December conditioner and can make this his own. Sebastien Ernault would be wise to be wary though of JAGUAR DE LAUMAC (1) who drops down the category-ladder for the occasion. IZIASLAV TEK (13) has been handed a tough draw but is plainly in fine shape and has excellent Cabourg references. Starting just to his inside on the 2nd line, INTELLO D’ERABLE (12) is back on the right road and will be reunited with Yoann Lebourgeois.

- CAMPONANES – Three unplaced runs in maiden races, the latter over 1600m at this track on December 4th. Down in class and enters calculations
- YUSCARAN – Unraced colt by Hello Youmzain, the dam won 1 race. From a respected trainer who knows the time of day. The betting can be the best guide

- GOLDEN BREEZE – Placed 4th at Mont-De-Marsan on November 15th over 1200m in a claimer last time out. Hard to recommend
Summary: NEBUR (2) found Class 2 at this track too strong in December, but won and was third in two claimers before that in November. He can get back on track, back in claiming class. GENERAL CHOP (1) has won in claiming class and was fourth two runs back in a claimer on the turf at Toulouse. He can make the selection work, as can recent winner DARINICE (4), who scored on the artificial surface at Pornichet in December. VATHANA (3) is also worth considering.

- ZELICA – Unplaced last time, 3rd previously over 2400m at Pornichet on December 5th in a Class 4 handicap. Others make more appeal
Summary: DSCHINGIS HEIGHTS (4) has shaped well with two recent placed efforts. He looks ready to get another success. L’INITIE (2) could be the main danger. He ran third two runs back, and he has shown a liking for the artificial surfaces before. KERDINA (1) could be an option each way, having won at Craon in late September over a stiffer test. Summary: MARKOS (1) has shown enough in two starts to take a race of this nature. His fourth on debut was a solid effort, and he acquitted himself well enough on the artificial surface at Pornichet in mid-December. MASAYA (4) arrives after two placed runs on the artificial surfaces and can give another good account of herself. LADY GATSBY (3) scored at Tarbes in October and is better than recent efforts. Summary: BALEGRIO (1) scored over the track and trip in early December on his latest start and looks capable of following up despite having to concede weight away to all of his rivals. LADY PINK (4) can make the selection work hard for success after four solid efforts of late. OLIVA (5) was second at this track in late October and warrants respect. ON Y VA (7) is well handicapped and can make the top four.

- HAUTE GAMME – Placed 4th over 2000m at this track in a Class 4 handicap on December 20th. Not the most reliable of late
Summary: DRACO (4) is the tentative selection in a race lacking in depth. He is yet to win on an artificial surface. XARUN (8) can give the selection something to think about. He was a pleasing second at this track in a Class 4 handicap in early November when last seen. LOUIS SKI (1) could be an option for the each way enthusiasts.
