French Selections Sunday 4th

R1 VINCENNES [L-H]

C1 – PRIX DE LIGNIERES – 2850m (a2m) – Class D – Harness – EUR € 40,000

  1. LUNA KALOUMA – Out of the picture in last 3 starts, most recently behind LOULIANA DE VANDEL (12) on Christmas Eve, and can be ruled out
  2. LUNE DE L’EMION – Respectable in last 3, latterly 4th of 10, a place behind LESDY MAGODA (4) in a 2700m Class E here on 17 December, but will need to find more this time around
  3. L’ILE D’HAUFOR – 3rd over course and distance before being eliminated on 17 December in a 2700m Class E here. Alternates the good with the less good but, if behaved, can figure prominently
  4. LESDY MAGODA – Beat a number of these when 3rd in a 2700m Class E here on 17 December. Faces a stiffer test this time but should nevertheless acquit herself honourably
  5. LAURENE DE BAILLY – Modest mare that has done nothing noteworthy for past 2 months and would be preferred barefoot
  6. LAMBADA GIRL – Won over 2100m here before suffering a troubled trip behind LOULIANA DE VANDEL (12) in a 2100m Class E on 24 December. Form is not in question and can play a leading role if given the chance
  7. LITTLE DU RIB – It took 18 races but she got off the mark in a Graignes Class E on 20 November. Makes Vincennes debut fresh and barefoot but at this level may be taking on too much
  8. LIANGA – Unremarkable trotter making first appearance since September. Goes shod and has nothing to offer
  9. LAIKA DES MARES – Moderate mare with better references in the claiming division and is unlikely to spice things up
  10. LUTECE D’ELA – Back under harness after failing to deliver in a monte Class D here 2 weeks ago. Is first-time barefoot and the engagement of Alexandre Abrivard will only work to her advantage. First 5
  11. LATIKA BELLA – Fine servant that imposed at Laval before missing out by little in a Class E over course and distance on 16 November. Has been afforded time to return to her best and has every chance of opening her 2026 account
  12. LOULIANA DE VANDEL – Steps up in category after running 3rd in a 2100m Class E here on 24 December. Cannot be regarded a priority but has earned the right to race in this company and can get in on the action
  13. LOVELY FACE – Left a good impression in early-November return, but looked very ordinary next time. Has never finished closer than 4th here but should nevertheless improve on latest outing
  14. LILY ROSE MYSTIC – Capricious character with a pair of runs in her since the spell. Imposed here in September and, barefoot this time, will garner support
  15. LA MISS ROYALE – Never far from faulting but otherwise always gives her best. Sports shoes for the occasion though and others easier to back
  16. L’ORANGE – Progressive mare that opened her winter account in a Class E over course and distance on 9 December. Takes on a better lot this time but with shoes off should not disappoint
Summary: After a much-needed return run following a year off the track, it took LATIKA BELLA (11) little time getting back to competitive ways and, barefoot for the first time, can make this her own. Benjamin Rochard will still be wary of the in-form LAMBADA GIRL (6) who endured an awful trip here on Christmas Eve, and the tricky but talented L’ILE D’HAUFOR (3) who goes first-time barefoot. Enjoying a terrific entry at the threshold of earnings, L’ORANGE (16) steps up in category after imposing over track and trip last month and, similarly barefoot for the occasion, will be no easy touch.
    SELECTIONS
    LATIKA BELLA (11) – LAMBADA GIRL (6) – L’ILE D’HAUFOR (3) – L’ORANGE (16)
    C2 – PRIX GELINOTTE – 2175m (a1m1/4) – Gr2 – Harness – EUR € 120,000
  17. NOCE ROYALE – Respectable filly with Mathieu Mottier reining this time but will still need to show improvement on recent 5th to NESPERA (4) here on 19 December
  18. NIKAIA PORT – Won first 2 but looked decidedly ordinary here early last month and already looks outclassed
  19. NOVA ISTORIA CHOC – Ran courageous 4th in Gr.3 Prix Vourasie but was dominated in race of reference and can expect to have few takers
  20. NESPERA – Takes to main track for first time after imposing over the inner course 2.5 weeks ago. Faces a better lot here but is plainly a progressive filly with a lot to contribute and, sporting front pads, is unlikely to return home empty-handed
  21. NOELA JOSSELYN – Honest filly that ran 2nd to NORMA JEANE (10) in a 2850m Class A here on Christmas Day. Is unlikely to get her nose in front but the addition of pads will do her prospects no disservice
  22. NEREIDA – Gave a good account to run 6th to NOCIVE DU CHOQUEL (12) in 2700m Prix Une de Mai here on 14 December. Will appreciate the shorter trip and the new formula will only work to her advantage
  23. NYMPHE D’ELLE – Showed promise during the autumn but showed the limits of her capacity in the race of reference and can be ruled out
  24. NOVA TIM – Well-beaten in Prix Une de Mai but reassured somewhat when 3rd to NORMA JEANE (10) in a 2850m Class A here on Christmas Day. Trainer in the bike this time and will have her supporters
  25. NACRE DU MOUTHIEUX – Filly with a bright future but tasted her first defeat when out of sorts in Prix Une de Mai. Has had 3 weeks to recalibrate though and with application can return to successful ways
  26. NORMA JEANE – 4th of 13, at 98-1, to NOCIVE DU CHOQUEL (12) in 2700m Prix Une de Mai here on 14 December, before winning a Class A on Christmas Day. Is not about to win this but has the wherewithal to finish in the mix
  27. NAYARA – Runner-up in Prix Vourasie before suffering an incident-filled trip in the race of reference, coming 5th to NOCIVE DU CHOQUEL (12), but can more than make amends if Eric Raffin keeps her out of harm’s way
  28. NOCIVE DU CHOQUEL – Sprang quite the surprise when winning 2700m Prix Une de Mai here on 14 December. Will be competitively-shod and a repeat performance is not out of the question
Summary: Winner of her first 3 starts, NACRE DU MOUTHIEUX (9) looked a shadow of herself in the Gr.2 Prix Une de Mai here 3 weeks ago, but should not be too hastily-condemned. Thierry Duvaldestin would not run her for nothing and she will benefit from hind pads this time around. Third to her in the Gr.3 Prix Vourasie, NOCIVE DU CHOQUEL (12) subsequently ran out a surprise winner of the Une de Mai and, freshly-reconfigured, must be taken more seriously. Respectively 5th and 6th that day NAYARA (11) and a padded NEREIDA (6) will be expected to show improvement.
    SELECTIONS
    NACRE DU MOUTHIEUX (9) – NOCIVE DU CHOQUEL (12) – NAYARA (11) – NEREIDA (6)
    C3 – PRIX D’ENGHIEN – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Gr3 – Mounted – EUR € 90,000
  29. MELODIE DE BLARY – Respectable filly but was found wanting in Prix Raoul Balliere and, even going barefoot, is not about to shake things up
  30. MILORD JAVRONNAIS – Put in a respectable effort on re-entry in a Class A over shorter here a fortnight ago. Will have come on for the race and a place in the frame is not beyond the realm of possibility
  31. MOJITO FRAISE – Produced something of a surprise when 4th to METEORE DE SIMM (10) in Gr.1 Prix de Vincennes over course and distance 3 weeks ago. Has been reconfigured for the first time and is not about to disappoint
  32. GILLES GRIF – Made his switch to the monte code a triumphant one when comfortably winning a 2175m Class B here 8 days ago. Takes a notable hike in category but clearly has buckets of ability and can play a prominent role
  33. MAGNOLIADARCHE – Finished last of 8 behind MEPHISTO DU CLOS (6) in Gr.3 Prix Urgent here on 20 November. Goes barefoot this time but still not a concern, even with Eric Raffin riding
  34. MEPHISTO DU CLOS – Honest type that has placed in last 3, latterly 3rd in Gr.3 Prix Urgent under these conditions on 20 November. Will be pitted against better this time but still merits respect
  35. MELODY DE VIVOIN – Enjoyed a good run of form during the summer but has since lost her way. Sports modified shoeing but others still preferred
  36. MISS DES BESACES – Ran valiant 4th in Gr.2 Prix Raoul Ballière before finding the going too tough in Prix de Vincennes. Is in good company once more but should not be written off
  37. MHUM FLYNG – Never far from faulting but has claimed some big scalps at this level and, after a solid effort behind METEORE DE SIMM (10) 3 weeks ago, looks the main threat
  38. METEORE DE SIMM – High-calibre colt with an exceptional monte record. Is head-and-shoulders better than the opposition and will take all the beating
Summary: Winner of his first 6 monte starts, including a Gr.1 and 3 Gr.2s, METEORE DE SIMM (10) tasted defeat for the first time under the saddle when denied by a 28-1 shot in the Gr.1 Prix de Vincennes over course and distance 3 weeks ago. She faces a considerably easier task this time and can, with front pads fitted, get back to winning ways. 5th that day after having run 2nd in Gr.2 Prix Raoul Ballière, MHUM FLYNG (9) debuts over 2850m but with application should not disappoint. Winner of a 2175m Class B here last weekend, first time in the discipline, GILLES GRIF (4) will be unshod-behind and looks thoroughly capable of picking up some prizemoney. 4th in the Gr.1 Saint Léger des Trotteurs during the autumn, MILORD JAVRONNAIS (2) is competitively-shod for the first time and is not one to be underestimated.
    SELECTIONS
    METEORE DE SIMM (10) – MHUM FLYNG (9) – GILLES GRIF (4) – MILORD JAVRONNAIS (2)
    C4 – PRIX DE LILLE – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class A – Harness – EUR € 90,000
  39. CASH BANK BIGI – Quality element but not always the most dependable. Has not been seen out since mid-October and is unlikely to spring any surprises
  40. COBRA KILLER GAR – Serious element with exceptional credentials over course and distance. Won his sole start with Eric Raffin and will be expected to confirm
  41. KSAR – Returns to a more reasonable level after faulting in Gr.1 Prix Tenor de Baune here 2 weeks ago. Seldom disappoints over 2100m here and even with front pads fitted can get in on the action
  42. DIAMOND TRUPPO – Oddly out of sorts when 7th behind KSAR (3) in a 2850m Gr.3 here 3 weeks ago. Has otherwise been in excellent shape, benefits from a fine draw, and must be considered a player
  43. IBISCUS MAN – Should not be condemned for being eliminated here 3 weeks ago. Boasts 1’09”5 under these conditions and is unlikely to disappoint if he stays in stride
  44. HARMONY DU RABUTIN – Defied her price of 38-1 when 4th of 18 in 2850m Gr.2 Prix du Bourbonnais here on 7 December. Has not once disappointed in the day’s configuration and can figure prominently
  45. GOAL STAR – Tricky element that lost his action in a 2850m Class B here on 10 December. Starts in front but nevertheless faces a stiff test
  46. INVICTUS MADIBA – Capable on a good day but starts for first time since mid-October and would be preferred more competitively-shod
  47. HAPPY DANICA – Honourable 6th behind COBRA KILLER GAR (2) over track and trip a month back before running 3rd in a 2150m Cagnes Class A 9 days later. Forced to start wide on front line but can still get a look in
  48. POWWOW – Sent for a break after running 3rd in Gr.1 Yonkers International. Well-beaten in Prix Ténor de Baune on re-entry and will need to show considerable improvement
  49. COMBAT FIGHTER – Won over 1640m in Boden before running 3rd to JILORD VIVA (12) in a Class C over course and distance in mid-November, his first start south of the nordics. Is not ideally-draw this time either but is still worth monitoring
  50. JILORD VIVA – Won 2 on the trot before running 4th to JINGLE DU PONT (14) in Gr.2 GNT Final in late-November. Stays shod this time though and is not a concern
  51. HOVE PONT VAUTIER – Useful sort with a pair of runs under his belt this term, but has been fitted with shoes this time and can be ruled out
  52. JINGLE DU PONT – Won Gr.2 GNT Final before confirming in a 2850m amateur race here on Christmas Eve. Is a tough nut to crack when barefoot and will have his chances if Nicolas Bazire positions him early
  53. CHANCE EK – Returns to Vincennes after finishing last over a mile in Naples. Has been handed a tough number and is unlikely to upset the status quo
  54. INDY ROCK – Serious Swedish raider with form under these conditions and would have picked up a cheque here 3 weeks ago had he not lost his action. Form is not in question and Paul Ploquin will be mindful of putting things right. Place chance
Summary: A remarkable campaigner that excels under these conditions, COBRA KILLER GAR (2) was surprisingly beaten here a month ago but should logically bounce back and set the record straight. GNT Final winner JINGLE DU PONT (14) may have been handed a rough number but he will be barefoot and in current form is easy to like, as is the better-positioned IBISCUS MAN (5) who suffered a technical glitch in a Gr.3 here in mid-December. Daniel Reden would have preferred a better draw for INDY ROCK (16) who would have been competitive here that day had he stayed trotting, but deserves to be brought back into the fold. As game as they come, HARMONY DU RABUTIN (6) ran 4th in the Gr.2 Prix du Bourbonnais and even though shod this time still looks dangerous.
    SELECTIONS
    COBRA KILLER GAR (2) – JINGLE DU PONT (14) – IBISCUS MAN (5) – INDY ROCK (16)
    C5 – PRIX D’ETREPAGNY – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class C – Harness – EUR € 46,000
  55. READY HILL – Useful German raider that ran 5th behind MONSIEUR CHOCOLAT (10) in a 2850m Class D here on 3 December. Is unlikely to impose but can still finish in the mix
  56. OMARI BOKO – Capable Swedish raider making first appearance since September. Is barefoot for the occasion though and can get in on the action if he takes to the new profile
  57. NGANNOU – Caught the eye behind FLY TOP (11) here in October before finishing 6th in race of reference. Unlikely to improve on that but is no slouch at this level and will have his supporters
  58. LITTLE TWO – Capable type with just the one race under his belt since the long layoff. Is still being conditioned though and best to wait
  59. FLAMENCO FER – Failed to live up to expectations when 4th behind MONSIEUR CHOCOLAT (10) in a 2850m Class D here a month ago. Will go barefoot this time which could see him turn the tables
  60. MISTER LION – Complicated but useful Swedish import taking first steps for new yard. Starts for first time in 2 months and is unlikely to be given a hard race
  61. LOCO FLIGNY – Returned to victorious ways in a Class D over track and trip on 18 November. Shoes on this time and will have other ambitions
  62. FARAMIR AS – Handy element but lost his way during the autumn. Has been reconfigured for return from his spell and is unlikely to cause an upset
  63. LE GRAAL – Justifiably well-regarded individual but makes first appearance since mid-October and is going to need the outing
  64. MONSIEUR CHOCOLAT – Missed out on Vincennes debut victory when headed in a 2850m Class D here a month ago. Is better than the result would suggest and even racing shod can make a big splash
  65. FLY TOP – Opened his Vincennes account in late-October before being trounced in a 2100m Gr.3 here 3 weeks ago. Has nothing to prove at this level and is clearly a solid podium prospect
  66. FORCE OF NATURE – Returns to France after imposing over 2520m in Berlin 2 weeks ago. Won his only start over 2700m here and, barefoot this time, is unlikely to disappoint
  67. LODESTAR – Honest type returning to racing barefoot after finishing 4th in a Class C under these conditions a week ago. Takes on a better lot this time but should still not be overlooked
  68. LAMONT DU DOUET – In the frame in 2 of last 4 but most recently eliminated early in a Class C over course and distance on 7 December and others easier to trust
  69. LEGACY JIEL – 3rd over course and distance early last month but has been in conditioning-mode since and others easier to back
  70. LOTUS GRIFF – Quality trotter benefitting from an excellent engagement. Failed to get around unscathed 2.5 weeks ago but in current condition can play an active role if Alexandre Abrivard keeps him focused
Summary: Winner of 2 on the trot at home in Sweden, MONSIEUR CHOCOLAT (10) missed out by little on his Vincennes debut early last month; he will be shod this time but Bjorn Goop can still be legitimately confident of a big run. FLAMENCO FER (5) ran 4th that day but will barefoot on this occasion and should prove no pushover. FLY TOP (11) bit off more than he could chew in a Gr.3 here last month and will be expected to show marked improvement. Wonderfully-entered at the limit of earnings, LOTUS GRIFF (16) can prove a handful but he is plainly in fine shape and can play an important part if he keeps his action together.
    SELECTIONS
    MONSIEUR CHOCOLAT (10) – FLAMENCO FER (5) – FLY TOP (11) – LOTUS GRIFF (16)
    C6 – PRIX DE CHATELGUYON – 2175m (a1m1/4) – Class D – Harness – EUR € 46,000
  71. KATAVIA PRESS – Has placed just once in 4 starts this term and is not about to change her ways
  72. KELOWNA LEGEND – Surprise 3rd in a Class D over 2100m here in late-November but failed to confirm when trounced at Beaumont-de-Lomagne 2.5 weeks ago, and can be passed over
  73. KANELLE STAR – Undeniably capable but has no particular liking for Vincennes. Will be fit and competitively-shod, but others still easier to support
  74. KETY DU GOUTIER – Gave a good account on first objective of the winter, coming 4th, a place behind KARLA DE BANVILLE (14), in a 2700m Class D here on 17 November. Has yet to disappoint when unshod over 2700m and is not about to start now
  75. KASSIOPEE DREAM – Has made the frame just once in 5 Vincennes starts. Has not been seen out for 2 months and is not about to paint the town red
  76. KALANDA D’ELVIE – Returns to Vincennes after running 6th in a Marseille-Vivaux Class C a month ago. Pleased on sole start at the venue but is taking on too much this time
  77. KINDY DU VIVIER – Hardy trotter that seldom lets the side down when barefoot. Has raced just once in last 5 months but has placed in 2 of 4 over the main track and the trip should suit her nicely
  78. KOTKITA GIRL – Unable to secure the hat-trick when 8th behind KARLA DE BANVILLE (14) in a 2100m Class D here on 6 December. Has had time to freshen up and must be taken more seriously this time
  79. KALINDA DU PARC – Honest mare with a pair of runs under her belt since the long layoff. Was not disgraced in 17 November race of reference and has a reasonable chance of picking up a cheque
  80. KACEY BELL – Unremarkable mare that has done nothing of note for 3 months and must get her house in order
  81. KINASSE DE VIVOIN – Defied her 144-1 to run 7th behind KARLA DE BANVILLE (14) in a 2100m Class D here early last month. Franck Nivard in the bike this time but still not a priority
  82. KID LEA DRIVER – Dependable mare for the most part returning to the harness code after racing respectably in a monte Gr.2 here early last month. Presents decent Vincennes references and is unlikely to be far off the mark
  83. KHAMSA – Quality mare that is significantly better than her latest run would imply. Showed her form at this level during the autumn and, barefoot this time, looks a serious proposition
  84. KARLA DE BANVILLE – Suffered first barefoot disappointment when eliminated in a Class C over track and trip on 20 December. Is quite clearly in excellent shape though and Matthieu Abrivard will be expecting to impose this time
  85. KARA D’OR – Honourable 6th in a 2850m Gr.3 here in late-November before running a courageous 6th in 6 December race of reference, but will have her work cut out this time
  86. KENNEDY STREET – Fine mare that was denied a run, finishing 11th of 14 in a Class C over course and distance on 20 December. Benefits from a good entry and Mathieu Mottier will be expected to turn it to good effect
Summary: Back at a more reasonable level after being dominated on re-entry here a fortnight ago, KHAMSA (13) races barefoot for the first time on a hard surface and can win this if he takes to the new trip. Julien Dubois will still be keeping a watchful eye on KARLA DE BANVILLE (14) who, had she not lost her action, would have been competitive for a place in the picture, and KOTKITA GIRL (8) who is patently better than her last performance would suggest. Mathieu Mottier takes over on the superbly-entered KENNEDY STREET (16) who was most unlucky here 2 weeks ago.
    SELECTIONS
    KHAMSA (13) – KARLA DE BANVILLE (14) – KOTKITA GIRL (8) – KENNEDY STREET (16)
    C7 – PRIX DU CALVADOS-CORNULIER RACES Q3 – 2850m (a2m) – Gr2 – Mounted – EUR € 120,000
  87. IDOLA – Serious mare with excellent monte references, winning her last 4 under the saddle. Has been reconfigured for first target of the winter and although not a contender can nevertheless pick up a cheque
  88. JEZABELLE BIE – Has not been firing on all cylinders recently but will be shod as she was when successful in 2024 Gr.1 Prix Bilibili and must be respected
  89. ISLAMORADA – Takes to Group class for the first time, having recently put in 2 excellent performances over course and distance. Pierre Levesque has been very patient with her and the wait may just pay off
  90. KID BELLAY – Will be shod as he was when 2nd in Gr.2 Prix Joseph Lafosse here on 22 November. Showed his form despite his Prix Bilibili elimination and on good behaviour can bring home the bacon
  91. JEWELCANDLE FAC – Started her winter preparation already in September. Races under the saddle for first time since last January and can bring the fight to KID BELLAY (4) provided Damien Bonne keeps her trotting
  92. HEURISTIQUE – Course-and-distance winner here 12 months ago, and most recently 3rd behind ISLAMORADA (3) in a Class B under similar conditions on 17 December, but appears to be taking on too much this time
  93. HALFA – Is significantly better than last month’s G.3 performance would suggest, however in this company may struggle to make her mark
  94. EAST ASIA – Good class of mare with nothing to prove at this level under harness. Debuts in the discipline, with Alexandre Abrivard in the irons, and will not be inconvenienced by the trip. First 5
  95. JEAN BALTHAZAR – Showed improvement when 5th in Gr.2 Prix Jules Lemonnier but is a far cry from his best monte form and will need to raise his game
  96. INA DU RIB – High-calibre mare following the Cornulier plan. Was unplaced in Gr.2 Prix Jules Lemonnier but boats solid references in the day’s configuration and must not be underestimated
  97. HIRONDELLE DU RIB – Has done nothing of note since winning Gr.1 Prix Henri Desmontils last March and can be passed over
Summary: Runner-up to Keengame in the Gr.2 Prix Joseph Lafosse in November, KID BELLAY (4) would have finished close in the Gr.1 Prix Bilibili 3 weeks ago had he managed to stay in stride but, reconfigured for the occasion, Alexis Collette appears to have picked up a terrific spare ride. JEWELCANDLE FAC (5) has not been seen under the saddle since running 3rd in last year’s Cornulier but, with application, can get straight back in the game. ISLAMORADA (3) has earned the right to race at this level and in current condition is easy to recommend. INA DU RIB (10) sports front pads for the occasion and is very much in the picture.
    SELECTIONS
    KID BELLAY (4) – JEWELCANDLE FAC (5) – ISLAMORADA (3) – INA DU RIB (10)
    C8 – PRIX CHARLES TIERCELIN – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Gr2 – Harness – EUR € 120,000
  98. MELBA DU GERS – Excellent here last winter but has been off the boil for some time. Races barefoot for the occasion but can expect to have few friends
  99. MORALITY – Has not been seen out since running 6th in Gr.1 Criterium des 3 Ans in September. Is competitively-shod but still not a concern
  100. MADRID HAUFOR – Runner-up in 2 before coming 5th in Prix Ready Cash. Has the chance to race barefoot this time and should not be entirely ruled out
  101. MAGNUM DU CHOQUEL – Generous servant that lost his action in race of reference. Presents solid credentials over course and distance and the addition of pads will do his chances no harm
  102. GUGLIELMO JET – Gave a superb account to finish 2nd to MACK DE BLARY (9) in Gr.1 Prix Ready Cash over 2100m here on 7 December. Is not always easy to handle but can go close if he keeps his action together
  103. MAITRE JACQUES – Never far from faulting but is a quality colt with a course-and-distance Gr.1 to his name. Reassured behind MACK DE BLARY (9) in the Prix Ready Cash, setting personal best time, and will generate interest
  104. GABRIOZ – Serious Italian raider making Vincennes debut fresh and barefoot. Won his country’s blue riband and with Eric Raffin reining can give MACK DE BLARY (9) something to think about
  105. MILLE ETOILES – Ran 3rd behind MADRID HAUFOR (3) in Gr.2 Prix Guy Deloison but failed to confirm when 7th in Prix Ready Cash. Races first-time barefoot, with JMB in the bike this time, but looks a first-5 chance at best
  106. MACK DE BLARY – High-class colt that has swept almost all before him here this year, most recently claiming the 2nd Gr.1 of his short career. Has no fillies to contend with this time and should have this in the bag
Summary: MACK DE BLARY (9) is arguably one of the most exciting horses running at Vincennes this weekend. He sports pads for the first time and a repeat of his Gr.1 Prix Ready Cash performance would see him confirm. Theo Duvaldestin will be unsurprisingly mindful of the talented but tricky GUGLIELMO JET (5) who ran 2nd to him, at 39-1, that day and who runs barefoot, and the classy GABRIOZ (7) who accounted for Ginostrabliggi in the Italian Derby. MAITRE JACQUES (6) made up for his Gr.1 Prix Pierre Plazen elimination when 3rd to the favourite early last month and, if applied, can again make the frame.
    SELECTIONS
    MACK DE BLARY (9) – GUGLIELMO JET (5) – GABRIOZ (7) – MAITRE JACQUES (6)
    C9 – PRIX DE SALON DE PROVENCE – 2850m (a2m) – Class D – Harness – EUR € 46,000
  107. JALNY DE CASTELLE – Eliminated in 2 of last 3 but is undeniably in good condition. Starts in front and will not be far from the action if Romain Derieux gets him off on the right foot
  108. JUST PRETTY ONE – Encouraged over course and distance in early-December but failed to confirm at Pontchateau a fortnight ago and others preferred
  109. JOKER DU CHOQUEL – Came close to completing the hat-trick when 3rd of 16 in a 2800m Pontchateau Class E 2 weeks ago. Entrusted to Eric Raffin for return to Paris, enjoys a front-row start, and can figure prominently
  110. JOY DU CHERISAY – Has started to come good again following her autumn break but will still need to find more
  111. JULIANA DES LUCAS – Steps back up in category and returns to racing left-handed after 3 solid efforts in the provinces. Makes first Vincennes appearance since August 2024 but with Matthieu Abrivard reining will be afforded every chance
  112. JOHORE – Sparsely-raced sort that imposed over course and distance before confirming over 2700m 3 weeks ago and is in with a realistic shout of securing the hat-trick
  113. JANE CASH – Useful mare but is patently still being conditioned and is unlikely to garner much support
  114. JETIDA – Has not been seen out since September but will have been specifically prepared for this and, considering the condition of Mathieu Mottier’s horses, a place on the podium is well within her reach
  115. JABLONSKI – Tough element that surprisingly blew up in a 2100m Class C here early last month. Trainer back in the bike and can start to redeem himself
  116. JALOUZ D’OLIVERIE – Turned a corner last month, winning 2 for 2, but will be shod this time and best to keep one’s powder dry
  117. JOURNEY OF DREAM – Good, consistent campaigner making first appearance since last August and will have nothing to contribute
  118. JERZINHO SPORT – Won a Class D over track and trip before running 5th in a similar event in better company on 20 November. Has form with shoes fitted and will be competitive for a place in the frame
  119. JUMANJI SIBEY – Quality element returning to Paris after reassuring at Marseille-Vivaux on 11 December. Is new to 2850m of the main track but is plainly in top shape and will be expected to contest the finish
Summary: Very hard to fault when focused and unshod, JOHORE (6) returns to Paris on a 3-timer and even from the 2nd line has every chance of pulling it off. He will still meet resistance from the smartly-engaged pair of JUMANJI SIBEY (13) who showed in Marseille recently that he is clearly close to his race, and a shod JERZINHO SPORT (12) whose form under these conditions is difficult to knock.
