  6. MAMALAND – Placed 3rd over 3500m on December 7th at Auteuil in a Listed hurdle. Has won over this track in a Class 2 hurdle in November last year. Makes her chasing debut and can be on the premises
    Summary: SHANNON MAESTRO (5) was an excellent third in the Grade 1 Prix Cambacérès Hurdle at Auteuil in mid-November when last seen and can make a winning debut over fences. His main danger may be MAMALAND (6), who ran well to finish third in a Listed hurdle at Auteuil in December and is also set for her first start over fences. MASTAR (1) has chasing experience, having finished third in a Class 2 contest at Compiègne in November, and warrants respect.

    Summary: LUSAKA DE THAIX (1) won narrowly on debut at Dieppe in a Class 4 hurdle, and this lightly raced gelding can step up in class today and follow up. His chief danger could be VENUS OCEANE (6), who has solid form on the flat. She won a Class 2 handicap in August over 3200m, and she will be well schooled for this debut over hurdles. LANDE D’OUDAIRIES (5) scored on the latest start at Pau in a Class 2 hurdle and is one to look at each-way. GLADY TIGER (2) won over hurdles last time and is respected.

    Summary: SHEZALA (10) ran a solid race when third over 3500m over hurdles in a Class 2 race in May, and she can be expected to be fit to go. ELLE A TOUT CA (5) could be the one that makes the selection work hard for success. She won at Pau in early December over hurdles. MACARENA DU RIB (4) has solid form with a hat-trick of wins over fences recently and can be on the premises back over hurdles today. BELLE ETINCELLE (2) heads the rest.

  36. KALINE DES BOULLAT – Unplaced last time, a win before that over 3500m at Pau on December 31st in a Class 3 hurdle. She might need a few to misfire

    Summary: SHAENJET (5) could be the answer in this Listed handicap hurdle. He was a solid second two starts ago in a Class 4 hurdle over this course and distance in early November. His main rival may be LOU FAST (3), who has been placed on his last three outings, most recently over 4200m in a Class 4 chase at Cagnes-sur-Mer on January 1. JOUR POLAIRE (2) has been slightly below par since finishing second in December but is capable of bouncing back to form. KASSEL ALLEN (1) is another to consider despite carrying top weight, while UNDENIABLE ALIBI (8) completes the shortlist.

  47. MASTER BLASTER – Two placed runs on the flat, and two unplaced efforts over hurdles, the latter over 3500m at this track in a Class 2 hurdle on October 7th. Look elsewhere
  48. METRONOME D’AINAY – Nice effort to be 3rd on his debut over 3500m at Pau in a Class 3 hurdle on January 20th. Can make the frame
  49. GIZLI – Finished 5th on his debut over 3400m at Compiegne on November 28th in a Class 2 hurdle. Can improve and has place claims
    Summary: SILVER LASER (2) won on debut on the flat and then followed up over 3500m on his hurdle race debut last month in a Class 4. He looks capable of getting the hat-trick of wins. MON MILLESIME (6) could be the main threat to the selection. He has a nice profile and is from a good stable. GUADALQUIVIR (3) ran well two runs back to be third on his debut at this track over hurdles and warrants respect. GOUJON BLEU (4) is another to consider.

  54. KILOMETRE ILLIMITE – Unplaced last time, 2nd before that over 4700m in a Listed chase at Pau on December 28th. Others rate higher
  55. INTERDIT DE JEU – Won on the last start over 3500m in a handicap chase at this track on December 7th. Has won over this track and trip before. One to consider
  56. KENTUCKY WOOD – Ran well to be 2nd in the Prix Georges Courtois (Grade 2) chase on December 7th at this track over 4400m. Hard to ignore
    Summary: Second in the two biggest races of. 2025 over fences, KOLOKICO (2) was demoted from his runner-up spot in the Prix La Haye Jousselin last back end but he remains a top-class chaser and should be ready for a big run despite the break. . KENTUCKY WOOD (7) is a previous course and distance winner in a Grade 2 chase and was a good second in the Prix Georges Courtois (Grade 2) chase on December 7th last time. He looks like a threat. CROWN DU BERLAIS (3) has won his last three starts and has to be respected. KAPACA DE THAIX (4) is another to consider.

    Summary: KIMFLY (2) ran well to finish fifth in a handicap hurdle at Pau in late January and is the tentative selection in this contest. FURIOSO (4) could be the one to make him work for success, having won two starts ago in a claiming event at Pau, and he warrants respect. TALK SHOW (1) looks a sensible option for each-way enthusiasts, while MAZARIN DU BERLAIS (3) completes the shortlist.

  80. QUICK DADDY – Several unplaced runs of late, failed to finish last time over 4000m at Cagnes-Sur-Mer in a handicap hurdle on January 6th. Hard to recommend
    Summary: KILOMETRE ZERO (1) has a few unplaced runs since a solid second in a handicap chase at Le Lion-d’Angers last August. He is the tentative pick now reverting to hurdles. JIKITO (7) could be the main danger, having recorded several placed efforts over hurdles and fences last year. TY ZUMS (4) ran a credible race when fifth last time at Fontainebleau and can be involved at the finish, while GALET D’OUDAIRIES (11) completes the shortlist.

C1 – PRIX DE SAUVAGNAS – 2575m (a1m1/2) – Class G Amateur Drivers – Harness – EUR € 6,000

  1. JUNINIO FLEURY – Produced a 13-1 surprise when 3rd to IMPEC DE BERTRANGE (2) in a Class G over track and trip early this month. Races shod this time though and not an obvious choice
  2. IMPEC DE BERTRANGE – Hard to knock in the amateur ranks since the turn of the year. Is already a winner in the day’s configuration and has every chance of repeating
  3. JOUE PAS AVEC MOI – Useful sort but has not been seen out since August. New trainer debuts him barefoot though and should not be underestimated
  4. ISHOOP – Sprang something of a surprise when 2nd in an amateurs Class G at Grenade-sur-Garonne 3 weeks ago. Shoes fitted this time though and best to keep one’s powder dry
  5. JACK DU TRUFIER – Ran good 3rd in a Marseille-Vivaux Class F on 18 January, has been handed an excellent draw, and debuts in the category with a realistic chance of getting off the amateur mark
  6. JEANNOT DU VALLON – Modest individual that has done little of note since September. Starts in front and although being aimed too high, could just pick up a cheque in this small field
  7. JOYEUSE SMART – Has taken well to the amateur category, latterly running 4th to IMPEC DE BERTRANGE (2) in a Class G over track and trip early this month. Is not as well-drawn this time but will be barefoot and competitive
  8. JEU ROYAL – Winner of 2 of 3 amateur starts. Appears to have found his niche in this category and, having been specifically prepared for this, is unlikely to disappoint
  9. IMPERIALE DE SYHM – Unexceptional mare making first appearance since early-November. Has references in the amateur division, and will be competitively-shod, but will struggle to make her presence felt
  10. JAZZY EFFEL – Very disappointing since last summer. Races barefoot this time but still has no possible chance
    Summary: Like a horse reborn over the past month with 2 wins from 3 starts, IMPEC DE BERTRANGE (2) most recently dominated a similar event here, and even though sporting pads this time, looks set to take all the beating. JACK DU TRUFIER (5), however, has been knocking at the door in superior company and clearly represents the main danger. Surprise 4th to Yves Hurel’s horse here recently, JOYEUSE SMART (7) will be barefoot this time and is unlikely to disappoint. JEU ROYAL (8) has not been seen out since late-October but won both amateur starts in the autumn and, with his mind on the game, can play a prominent role.

  11. ISTINGA BOCAIN – Disappointing on the whole since last summer and has no realistic chance
  12. JASMIN GEMA – A good, dependable element that prepped nicely early this month. Is in race-mode this time and, drawn well in front, can make his Agen bow a successful one
  13. HEURE BLEUE – Serious mare that rarely disappoints when focused. Is still in conditioning-mode but has been handed a good draw and has already won at Agen 4 times. One to monitor
  14. HARLEY DE QUARO – Has been very disappointing for some time and recent comeback runs have done nothing to inspire confidence
  15. JET JET JET – Won 3 and placed 2nd twice in last 5 starts. Is patently close to winning another, and the draw will only enhance his already good prospects
  16. I AM EAGLE – Took some time to come to hand this term but reassured in Toulouse mid-January when 4th in a Class E. Has yet to win at Agen but seldom disappoints and has every chance of making first 5
  17. EVEN STEVEN – Has yet to deliver since coming to France but encouraged at Cagnes in early-January and has the wherewithal to pick up a cheque
  18. BOMBER MAN – Quality Italian sort that was beaten by the smallest of margins at Saint-Galmier on 24 January. Not ideally-drawn but is clearly in fine shape, and should competitive at the business end of the race
  19. HERMES D’AIROU – Has not been seen out since August 2024 and will not be given a hard race
  20. REDBULL PELLINI – Convincing winner of a 2650m Class E at Marseille-Vivaux on 18 January. Goes right-handed for the first time but in current condition is hard to ignore
  21. HILAIRE DES PLANS – Has done nothing of any note since summer of 2024 and is not about to change his ways
  22. HORUS DES CHAMPS – Has not been seen out since last October. Has made no impact for some time and will not be starting now
    Summary: A model of consistency, and already a winner this year, JASMIN GEMA (2) races barefoot following his good Saint-Brieuc conditioner and from the 2-spot can impose. He will still come under pressure from JET JET JET (5) who has been at the top of his game this winter, and the widely-drawn BOMBER MAN (8) who just missed out at Saint-Galmier 3 weeks ago. REDBULL PELLINI (10) opened his French account last month and despite a 2nd-line start, should still be competitive when it matters.

  23. IDEAL DU GAZON – Quality element with fine monte credentials but is unraced since early-September and best to hold off
  24. HARCOURT DE PADD – Has looked decidedly ordinary in both codes since last summer and even with shoes off can be ruled out
  25. JANTARA DESBOIS – Serious mare returning to the provinces after placing in a Vincennes Class D early this month. Will appreciate the more even surface and is in with a realistic shout of imposing
  26. JOGGER KILY – Unseen in the code since October 2024 but has been showing his form under harness and, if ability transitions, can play a major part
  27. JACK L’EVENTREUR – Pleased on monte debut mid-January but failed to confirm early this month when last but one behind JANTARA DESBOIS (3) at Vincennes and cannot be considered a contender
  28. IZAYA DE COUSSERAT – Pleased in both ridden starts to date, latterly at Beaumont-de-Lomagne in November. Recent harness results less than good though and others easier to back
  29. JAMES OF CARLY – Switches direction after running 6th behind JANTARA DESBOIS (3) in a 2700m Vincennes Class D 9 days ago. Will be more competitive here and can compete for a place in the frame this time
  30. IRON BIRD DEVOL – Unable to pull off the hat-trick when failing to deliver in a Vincennes Class D 8 days ago. Should not be too hastily-condemned and can be backed with confidence this time
    Summary: A good campaigner in this branch of the business, and recently 3rd in a Vincennes Class D, JANTARA DESBOIS (3) returns to racing clockwise with a decent chance of bringing home the spoils.   47. MILORD MARANDAIS – Put a host of eliminations behind him on 26 January when 3rd, a place behind MON REVE (6), in a Bordeaux Class F. Will be shod as he was that day and will have a lot to contribute if he stays in stride
  48. MAKAO DE LA BESVRE – Back under harness after disappointing under the saddle. Is no longer a maiden, and races barefoot, but still looks out of his depth
  49. MILLEPASSI – Moderate mare that has yet to show much liking for Agen but was not disgraced in Toulouse a fortnight ago and will have her supporters
    Summary: Winner at Cordemais in December, MON REVE (6) was beaten only by a very good colt at Bordeaux late last month and, barefoot for the first time, can make his way back into the winners’ enclosure. MAHATMA DANICA (3), however, is competitively-shod this time and will be dangerous if he makes it around unscathed. Despite a tough draw and just one race under his belt this term, MILORD MARANDAIS (9) sports a fresh configuration and, if applied, can figure prominently.   59. MARAVILLA DU METZ – Back to racing unshod-behind after leaving a fine impression in Bordeaux. Langlois stable firing on all cylinders and a place in the frame appears well within her grasp

He’s unlikely to have it all his own way though given how well MARMOTTAN (5) has been acquitting himself of late.   65. LOOPING D’HERIPRE – Gave a fine account on return from a spell when 3rd, a place behind LOVER DE CHENU (4), in a 2700m Class E at Lyon-La Soie on 19 January. Will have come on for the run and the draw will do his chances no harm
  66. LELLAMIKA – Is never far from faulting but has ability in abundance. Made short work of a 2050m Class E at Lyon-La Soie last time out and, with freshness on her side, can play a leading role

    Summary: Wonderfully-entered on the front line, KRACKMANIA (4) makes her first start for the Sassier yard. She is clearly in form, has been reconfigured for the occasion, and enjoys a realistic chance of making her Agen bow a victorious one. INDY ROCK (13), himself ideally-engaged on the 2nd row, was not the most fortunate in Paris last weekend but will have his chances if kept focused. JAGDA (10) is clearly better than her last run would suggest and is capable of shining brightly at this level.
