C1 – PRIX DE SAUVAGNAS – 2575m (a1m1/2) – Class G Amateur Drivers – Harness – EUR € 6,000
- JUNINIO FLEURY – Produced a 13-1 surprise when 3rd to IMPEC DE BERTRANGE (2) in a Class G over track and trip early this month. Races shod this time though and not an obvious choice
- IMPEC DE BERTRANGE – Hard to knock in the amateur ranks since the turn of the year. Is already a winner in the day’s configuration and has every chance of repeating
- JOUE PAS AVEC MOI – Useful sort but has not been seen out since August. New trainer debuts him barefoot though and should not be underestimated
- ISHOOP – Sprang something of a surprise when 2nd in an amateurs Class G at Grenade-sur-Garonne 3 weeks ago. Shoes fitted this time though and best to keep one’s powder dry
- JACK DU TRUFIER – Ran good 3rd in a Marseille-Vivaux Class F on 18 January, has been handed an excellent draw, and debuts in the category with a realistic chance of getting off the amateur mark
- JEANNOT DU VALLON – Modest individual that has done little of note since September. Starts in front and although being aimed too high, could just pick up a cheque in this small field
- JOYEUSE SMART – Has taken well to the amateur category, latterly running 4th to IMPEC DE BERTRANGE (2) in a Class G over track and trip early this month. Is not as well-drawn this time but will be barefoot and competitive
- JEU ROYAL – Winner of 2 of 3 amateur starts. Appears to have found his niche in this category and, having been specifically prepared for this, is unlikely to disappoint
- IMPERIALE DE SYHM – Unexceptional mare making first appearance since early-November. Has references in the amateur division, and will be competitively-shod, but will struggle to make her presence felt
- JAZZY EFFEL – Very disappointing since last summer. Races barefoot this time but still has no possible chance
Summary: Like a horse reborn over the past month with 2 wins from 3 starts, IMPEC DE BERTRANGE (2) most recently dominated a similar event here, and even though sporting pads this time, looks set to take all the beating. JACK DU TRUFIER (5), however, has been knocking at the door in superior company and clearly represents the main danger. Surprise 4th to Yves Hurel’s horse here recently, JOYEUSE SMART (7) will be barefoot this time and is unlikely to disappoint. JEU ROYAL (8) has not been seen out since late-October but won both amateur starts in the autumn and, with his mind on the game, can play a prominent role.

C2 – PRIX DE BOE – 2575m (a1m1/2) – Class E Amateur Riders – Harness – EUR € 27,000 - ISTINGA BOCAIN – Disappointing on the whole since last summer and has no realistic chance
- JASMIN GEMA – A good, dependable element that prepped nicely early this month. Is in race-mode this time and, drawn well in front, can make his Agen bow a successful one
- HEURE BLEUE – Serious mare that rarely disappoints when focused. Is still in conditioning-mode but has been handed a good draw and has already won at Agen 4 times. One to monitor
- HARLEY DE QUARO – Has been very disappointing for some time and recent comeback runs have done nothing to inspire confidence
- JET JET JET – Won 3 and placed 2nd twice in last 5 starts. Is patently close to winning another, and the draw will only enhance his already good prospects
- I AM EAGLE – Took some time to come to hand this term but reassured in Toulouse mid-January when 4th in a Class E. Has yet to win at Agen but seldom disappoints and has every chance of making first 5
- EVEN STEVEN – Has yet to deliver since coming to France but encouraged at Cagnes in early-January and has the wherewithal to pick up a cheque
- BOMBER MAN – Quality Italian sort that was beaten by the smallest of margins at Saint-Galmier on 24 January. Not ideally-drawn but is clearly in fine shape, and should competitive at the business end of the race
- HERMES D’AIROU – Has not been seen out since August 2024 and will not be given a hard race
- REDBULL PELLINI – Convincing winner of a 2650m Class E at Marseille-Vivaux on 18 January. Goes right-handed for the first time but in current condition is hard to ignore
- HILAIRE DES PLANS – Has done nothing of any note since summer of 2024 and is not about to change his ways
- HORUS DES CHAMPS – Has not been seen out since last October. Has made no impact for some time and will not be starting now
Summary: A model of consistency, and already a winner this year, JASMIN GEMA (2) races barefoot following his good Saint-Brieuc conditioner and from the 2-spot can impose. He will still come under pressure from JET JET JET (5) who has been at the top of his game this winter, and the widely-drawn BOMBER MAN (8) who just missed out at Saint-Galmier 3 weeks ago. REDBULL PELLINI (10) opened his French account last month and despite a 2nd-line start, should still be competitive when it matters.

C3 – PRIX DE LA SAINT VALENTIN – 2625m (a1m1/2) – Class E – Mounted – EUR € 30,000 - IDEAL DU GAZON – Quality element with fine monte credentials but is unraced since early-September and best to hold off
- HARCOURT DE PADD – Has looked decidedly ordinary in both codes since last summer and even with shoes off can be ruled out
- JANTARA DESBOIS – Serious mare returning to the provinces after placing in a Vincennes Class D early this month. Will appreciate the more even surface and is in with a realistic shout of imposing
- JOGGER KILY – Unseen in the code since October 2024 but has been showing his form under harness and, if ability transitions, can play a major part
- JACK L’EVENTREUR – Pleased on monte debut mid-January but failed to confirm early this month when last but one behind JANTARA DESBOIS (3) at Vincennes and cannot be considered a contender
- IZAYA DE COUSSERAT – Pleased in both ridden starts to date, latterly at Beaumont-de-Lomagne in November. Recent harness results less than good though and others easier to back
- JAMES OF CARLY – Switches direction after running 6th behind JANTARA DESBOIS (3) in a 2700m Vincennes Class D 9 days ago. Will be more competitive here and can compete for a place in the frame this time
- IRON BIRD DEVOL – Unable to pull off the hat-trick when failing to deliver in a Vincennes Class D 8 days ago. Should not be too hastily-condemned and can be backed with confidence this time
Summary: A good campaigner in this branch of the business, and recently 3rd in a Vincennes Class D, JANTARA DESBOIS (3) returns to racing clockwise with a decent chance of bringing home the spoils. Opposition will be headed by the in-form JOGGER KILY (4) who returns to the discipline with Alexis Collette in the irons, and JAMES OF CARLY (7) who will appreciate a return to racing right-handed.

C4 – PRIX DU GETSO – 2050m (a1m1/4) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 17,000 - NIGHT DE BANVILLE – 2nd in a 2650m claimer here in early-November. Has not been seen out since and is going to need the race
- NOGHERA COUNTESS – Courageous 6th of 8 in a 2100m Vincennes Class D last Tuesday. Raced better that day than the result would suggest and looks to have a reasonable chance of finishing in the mix
- NUIT DE ROUAISSE – Last of 6 finishers behind NIGHT DE JANEIRO (6) on debut here on 1 February. Is fitted with pads this time but can still be passed over
- NAGRADO GOLD – Imposed like a good thing on debut in a Class F at Grenade-sur-Garonne 3 weeks ago. Goes right-handed this time but Manuel Criado stays faithful and will be expecting to double up
- NINO DE LARRE – Took little time opening his account, winning a Saint-Brieuc Class F on 1 February. Beat a number of good horses that day and should again prove competitive for a place on the podium
- NIGHT DE JANEIRO – Left a good impression on debut here early this month, running 2nd in a 2625m Class F. Is sure to have progressed and is easy to fancy for the win this time
- NUCERA BELLA – 3rd in both starts to date, most recently a 2625m Class F here on 17 January. Should hold her own but is unlikely to spring any surprises
- NEVITA LOVE JO – Fitted with pads for the first time under harness. Has demonstrated decent aptitude but still appears to be taking on too much
Summary: Noel Langlois’ yard has been enjoying a rich vein of form recently and after a most convincing debut run here, his NIGHT DE JANEIRO (6) should appreciate this shorter trip, and the mobile start should suit her to a tee. NAGRADO GOLD (4) got off the mark at the first time of asking and steps up in category with a lot to contribute. NINO DE LARRE (5) similarly lost his maiden tag 2 weeks ago and, unsurprisingly, stays racing clockwise.

- MUSE DU LOISIR – Was eliminated on comeback at Toulouse last weekend. Is no champion and is not about to create an upset
- MAHATMA DANICA – Serious element that was never at his ease at Vincennes on Christmas Eve. Will be competitively-shod on this occasion and from the 3-spot can make a big impact
- MONTSECRET – Put in a good showing behind a serious filly here on 9 January when 2nd in a Toulouse Class F. Benefits from a good draw once more and warrants respect
- MACH DELALANDE – Never far from faulting, and still chasing that elusive first win, but is not devoid of ability and, with shoes off for the first time, can give this a good go from the 5-spot
- MON REVE – Quality future prospect that ran a fine 2nd in a Bordeaux Class F late last month. Gets the chance to race barefoot this time, which could make all the difference. Claim
- MARILOUGO DE FARS – Starts for the first time since running 4th of 10 in a Montauban Class F on 28 December. In considerably better company this time and chances limited
- MATARIKI – Has turned a corner since starting to race barefoot, most recently easily winning a Class G over course and distance early this month. Steps up in category, and starts wide, but can still contest a place on the podium
- MILORD MARANDAIS – Put a host of eliminations behind him on 26 January when 3rd, a place behind MON REVE (6), in a Bordeaux Class F. Will be shod as he was that day and will have a lot to contribute if he stays in stride
- MAKAO DE LA BESVRE – Back under harness after disappointing under the saddle. Is no longer a maiden, and races barefoot, but still looks out of his depth
- MILLEPASSI – Moderate mare that has yet to show much liking for Agen but was not disgraced in Toulouse a fortnight ago and will have her supporters
Summary: Winner at Cordemais in December, MON REVE (6) was beaten only by a very good colt at Bordeaux late last month and, barefoot for the first time, can make his way back into the winners’ enclosure. MAHATMA DANICA (3), however, is competitively-shod this time and will be dangerous if he makes it around unscathed. Despite a tough draw and just one race under his belt this term, MILORD MARANDAIS (9) sports a fresh configuration and, if applied, can figure prominently. MATARIKI (8) won under these conditions early this month and even though forced to break wide, will justifiably garner support.

C6 – PRIX CHARLES DE CACQUERAY – 2625m (a1m1/2) – Class B – Harness – EUR € 30,000 - MIDNIGHT CHENU – Showed improvement on comeback mid-January when 4th of 10 in an Angers Class E. Will have come on for the race and can play a role
- MONEY AIMEF – Eliminated in 4 straight prior to running 6th of 10 in a Class E over course and distance last Monday. Is back racing barefoot and can play a leading role if Romain Le Creps keeps her focused
- MAX DU POMMEREUX – Capable on a good day but eliminated in last 2. Will be barefoot for the first time but may still be taking on too much
- MAGNUM DAIRPET – Courageous winner of a Class E over course and distance on 17 January, on first barefoot start. Has had time to get back in shape and from the front line will have a decent first-5 chance
- MARMOTTAN – Quality trotter that has started to come into himself this year. Has solid Agen references and looks main threat to MANGO PAULO (7)
- MAESTRO DE JOUDES – Has done little of note so far this term, most recently trounced in Bordeaux on 26 January. Is barefoot for the occasion but still not a priority
- MANGO PAULO – Has taken his game up a level recently, latterly running 3rd in a Vincennes Class D. Has a lot more going for him this time and the new configuration may just seal the deal. Claim
- MOOREA DE SAUSSEAU – Well-engaged filly that ran 3rd in a 2150m Toulouse Class D on 9 January. Has yet to deliver here but the new formula can help to put that concern to bed
- MY LOVE GIO – No slouch on a good day but has just the one race under his belt since the autumn break and the extra 25m does little to help
- MARAVILLA DU METZ – Back to racing unshod-behind after leaving a fine impression in Bordeaux. Langlois stable firing on all cylinders and a place in the frame appears well within her grasp
- MATCH BOCNEUF – Progressive type that has yet to disappoint but has not been seen out since November and is unlikely to be over-stretched
Summary: Third in a good lot at Vincennes a fortnight ago, MANGO PAULO (7) sports fresh shoeing for his Agen bow and Alexis Collette will be intent on capitalising on the good entry. He’s unlikely to have it all his own way though given how well MARMOTTAN (5) has been acquitting himself of late. MONEY AIMEF (2) is regularly hoist by her own petard but has bags of talent and returns to racing barefoot. Seldom far from the action, MARAVILLA DU METZ (10) gave a fine account in Bordeaux late last month and even though incurring the penalty, will be competitively-shod and no easy touch.

C7 – PRIX JEAN LEMAIRE – 2575m (a1m1/2) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 21,000 - LUPIN DE BEAUFOUR – Reliability not his strong suit but showed his form despite being eliminated here last week and can make a big splash if his driver keeps him focused
- LE CARAT D’AS – Made amends for Bordeaux blip when 2nd in a 2950m Toulouse Class E a week ago. Has yet to let the side down here and is not about to start now. First 5
- LUTTEUR DU RIEU – Showed improvement when 4th behind LE CARAT D’AS (2) in a Toulouse Class E last Saturday. Has been handed a good draw and, although not a priority, is still worth keeping an eye on
- LOVER DE CHENU – Has done nothing but progress since starting to race in current configuration. Just missed out at Lyon-La Soie on 19 January and, runner-up on his only start here, is easy to fancy for a place in the picture
- LOOPING D’HERIPRE – Gave a fine account on return from a spell when 3rd, a place behind LOVER DE CHENU (4), in a 2700m Class E at Lyon-La Soie on 19 January. Will have come on for the run and the draw will do his chances no harm
- LELLAMIKA – Is never far from faulting but has ability in abundance. Made short work of a 2050m Class E at Lyon-La Soie last time out and, with freshness on her side, can play a leading role
- LEMON CURD – Has blotted his copybook just once since starting to race barefoot. Is plainly close to his race and will be no pushover if he takes to the new profile
- L’AMI DE LANCOUR – Failed to live up to expectations in Toulouse last weekend. Reverts to an earlier formula and can get a look in if he stays in stride
- LILIBETH SMART – Blows hot and cold but encouraged nevertheless at Lyon-La Soie late last month when 4th in a Class E. Will struggle to repeat however
- LOULOU’S TEAM – Moderate trotter that has placed just once in 4 Agen starts and is unlikely to change his ways
- LABEL TURGOT – 7th of 10 behind LEMON CURD (7) on re-entry in Bordeaux late last month. Will have progressed for the race but has little to contribute here
- LINE GASCOGNE – Disappointing 6th of 14 in a 2625m Class E here early this month, and is unlikely to shake things up
- LOUSTIC VAUCEEN – Beaten only by a good horse in a Toulouse Class E a fortnight ago. Faces a tougher challenge this time but always gives his best and can pick up some prizemoney
Summary: In the frame in 3 of his last 4 starts, LEMON CURD (7) takes to Agen for the first time, and even though drawn wide, still looks a serious proposition. LUPIN DE BEAUFOUR (1) could well have finished close here last Monday had he stayed trotting, and Alexis Collette will be keen to put things right. Twice a winner late last season, LELLAMIKA (6) has not been seen out since winning in Lyon in early-December but is clearly in competition-mode and must be respected. Better-placed on the front line, LOVER DE CHENU (4) has been knocking at the door recently and it is just a question of time before he gets his head back in front.

C8 – GRAND PRIX DYNAVENA / GRAND PRIX D’HIVER – 2625m (a1m1/2) – Class B – Harness – EUR € 45,000 - LORENZO BOKO – Capable nordic import that pleased at Cagnes in early-January but eliminated in next 2. Has no clockwise references but has merit, starts in front, and should not be overlooked
- JUDY MATIDY – Produced a pair of good efforts to cap off 2026. Has not been seen for almost 2 months but will be barefoot for the occasion and the front-row start will do nothing to hamper her prospects
- IKY JOY – Won on comeback in Bordeaux before coming 3rd in a Toulouse Class D on 9 January. Has finished out of first 3 just once in last 11 starts, and from the first line will not be far off the mark
- KRACKMANIA – Was not disgraced when unplaced in a Vincennes Gr.3 on 18 January. Returns to a more reasonable level and from the front row can make this her own
- GEGE DE FROMENTEL – Has raced little, and to no effect, since July 2024. Disregard
- GAUDEPSOU – Won a Beaumont-de-Lomagne Class A at 32-1 in late-November, then disappointed in a Cagnes Class C mid-January. Is better than the latest result would suggest and cannot be discounted
- GENEROUS CHARM – Twice a winner here early in his career but has been disappointing over recent months and will first need to get his house in order
- HERALDIQUE – Hardy German sort dropping in category after having been trounced in a Cagnes Class A 3.5 weeks ago. Has been reconfigured for Agen bow and returns to racing right-handed with good cards to play
- HAPPYJO DE LIGNY – Eliminated here on 17 January to continue his poor winter streak and, even though sporting modified shoeing, is not about to set the cat among the pigeons
- HARRY CARISAIE – Is back to racing barefoot after prepping here on 17 January. Is arguably better under the saddle, but will be barefoot this time and competitive for a place in the frame
- HELIOT DE CAHOT – Has not made an appearance since being eliminated in a Cagnes Gr.3 on 20 December. Hind shoes off but still not a concern
- HARISON DU PLESSIS – Fine servant with nothing to prove at this level, but will be barefoot for the occasion and will have other ambitions
- INDY ROCK – Serious Swedish element that was still competitive when eliminated in a Vincennes Class A last weekend. Should find Agen conditions more to his liking and, considering the entry, will be no pushover
Summary: Wonderfully-entered on the front line, KRACKMANIA (4) makes her first start for the Sassier yard. She is clearly in form, has been reconfigured for the occasion, and enjoys a realistic chance of making her Agen bow a victorious one. INDY ROCK (13), himself ideally-engaged on the 2nd row, was not the most fortunate in Paris last weekend but will have his chances if kept focused. Barefoot after prepping here last month, HARRY CARISAIE (10) won his only other Agen start and looks competitively well in. Consistently in the thick of things, IKY JOY (3) has returned to competition in excellent shape, sports modified shoeing, and from the front row must be taken seriously.

AGOUREIL (4) is improving and was runner-up last time out in this division; he should be a threat once again. HUTTON (8) is not reliable but is quite capable of another win and must be respected. LOS SUENOS (9) is better than his last run would suggest and is clearly not out of it.
