C1 – GRAND NATIONAL DU TROT – 2825m (a2m) – Gr3 – Harness – EUR € 90,000

  1. IMPULSE JULRY – Disqualified in a class C at Lyon La Soie over 2050m on 9 March. Remains barefoot but is battling to find best form and others make more appeal
  2. IRIS FROM – Not disgraced when fifth in a class C at Cagnes-sur-Mer over 2925m on 21 March. Can be a threat to these rivals
  3. JAPPELOUP TURGOT – Only modest of late and finished 9th in a class C at Cagnes-sur-Mer over 2925m on 21 March. Remains barefoot and is capable of making the frame for this driver
  4. JOTUNN DU DOME – Holding form well and was fourth in a class D at Vire over 2800m on 18 March. Quite capable of contesting the finish yet again
  5. JOUR DE FETE – Finished 6th in a Mounted class C at Enghien over 2875m on 6 March. Remains barefoot.
  6. HARDI CROWN – Off form and finished 9th in a class D at Vire over 2800m on 18 March. Needs to find a few lengths to score
  7. HAIDA SAUTONNE – Showed some improvement when third in a class C at Vincennes over 2700m on 27 March. Remains barefoot and is not out of it
  8. JOLIE SURPRISE – Not reliable but was a good third in a class C at Vincennes over 2100m on 21 March. Remains barefoot and could score
  9. IMPERIAL DURABUTIN – Not reliable but was a runner-up in a class D at Le Croise-Laroche over 2825m on 7 March. Remains barefoot and can earn some more money
  10. HISTOIRE PHILS – Unreliable and was unplaced in a class B mounted race at Enghien over 2875m on 17 March. Needs to do a lot more to beat these rivals
  11. JAG STRYCK – Showed some improvement when third in a Group 3 at Marseille-Borely over 3000m on 25 March. Might play a minor role at very best
  12. GALA DE CRENNES – Victorious in a class B at Cagnes-sur-Mer over 2925m on 8 March. Unreliable but is capable of earning some money
  13. HEDIC GEMA – Successful in a class B at Cagnes-sur-Mer over 2925m on 26 February. Remains barefoot and might just follow up
  14. ISTER MAN – A winner of his last three starts, the latest in a Group 3 at Cagnes-sur-Mer over 2925m on 20 February. Remains barefoot and can add another won to his tally
  15. HORATIUS D’ELA – Kept to mounted races of late and finished 6th in a Group 3 at Vincennes over 2700m on 28 February. Capable of an upset back in a harness race
  16. HARMONY DU RABUTIN – A runner-up in a Group 1 at Vincennes over 4150m on 22 February. Not fully barefoot thsi time but can earn some money
    Summary: JOLIE SURPRISE (8) returned to winning ways at Vincennes a fortnight ago and looks ideally placed here, with Eric Raffin retaining the drive . ISTER MAN (14) is chasing a hat-trick and, despite conceding ground and a change of driver, remains a big danger. On the front line, JOTUNN DU DOME (4) has strong claims, though a recent foot issue is a slight concern according to his trainer. JAPPELOUP TURGOT (3) has been aimed at this and gets Matthieu Abrivard back in the sulky, while HEDIC GEMA (13), a last-time-out winner, completes the shortlist.

  21. HALDO DE LA CLOUE – Off form and finished tenth in Class G at Cavaillon over 2600m on 1 March. Needs major improvement to score
  22. JABADAO – Needed his only run of the year when 12th in Class E at Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne over 2675m on 1 March. Fitter this time but others make more appeal
  23. HALTO MESSI – Disqualified last time out in Class G at Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne over 2675m on 30 March. Does well in this division and has claims
  24. GAETAN – In good form and was runner-up in Class F at Marseille-Borely over 2300m on 13 March. Can contest the finish once again
  25. HERMINE DU SABLIER – Knocking very loudly at the door and was runner-up in Class H at Paray-le-Monial over 2625m on 22 March. Can go one place better
  26. HERMES SCOTT – Disqualified twice in a row, the latest at Marseille-Borely over 3000m on 25 March. Hard to trust and needs to improve to win
    Summary: A very tricky race. HERMINE DU SABLIER (9) has not won a race since 2022 but does have claims in this weak contest. HALTO MESSI (7) fluffed his lines with a disqualification last month but does well at this level and should be a lively danger to these rivals. GAETAN (8) remains in good form and will challenge for top honours once again. KARAOKE (2) is unreliable but is also capable of shining brightly when smart.

  28. NOWAK DE BUSSET – Disqualified on debut in Class F at Le Croisé-Laroche over 2700m on 23 March. Capable of improvement but makes little appeal
  29. NEOPHYTE GIGI – Has shown little so far and was 6th in Class F at this track over 2000m on 31 March. Needs to find a few lengths to score
  30. NUANCE DE COLMINE – Showed good improvement when runner-up in Class F at Strasbourg over 2200m on 8 March. Has disqualification issues but can go one better if smart
  31. NOVIALO – Victorious on debut in Class F at Castillonnès over 2450m on 8 March. Must be respected for that win and can contest the finish
  32. NEWTON CASTELETS – Consistent so far and finished third in Class E at Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne over 2675m on 30 March. Can make the frame
  33. NEO WYNN – Has some fair form and finished fifth in Class D at Marseille-Borély over 2300m on 25 March. Not easy to trust but can earn some money
  34. NIKITA DE MAGNY – Returned to form when runner-up in Class F at Lyon-La Soie over 2050m on 9 March. Can be competitive once again
  35. NETFLIX MADRIK – Successful on debut in Class F at Cagnes-sur-Mer over 2925m on 26 February. Capable of doubling up in this line-up
  36. NEMROD KYDE – Disqualified last time out in Class E at Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne over 2675m on 30 March. Did better on debut and could contest the finish
    Summary: A competitive-looking race. NOVIALO (5) won a good race at Castillonnès last month on his debut. This does look a tougher assignment, but he may well remain unbeaten. NEMROD KYDE (10) seems better than his recent disqualification and ran well on debut, so is a threat. NIKITA DE MAGNY (8) is not reliable but is capable of contesting the finish in this line-up. NETFLIX MADRIK (9) won at big odds on debut but must be respected.

    Summary: An open-looking race. KATE DE LA MOTTE (12) gets the vote to score on the back of some good recent form. KOMANIA D’ABY (13) has some fair recent form and could challenge for top honours this time around. KISS YOU DU VERGER (3) has faulted a couple of times of late but is quite capable of winning a race of this nature if he stays in stride. KALIN ELDE (6) hinted that his winning turn might not be far away with a good recent performance at Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne.

    Summary: A very interesting race. JOSELITO DU VIVIER (8) is unbeaten under the saddle and impressed when scoring at Vincennes in December. He returns from a break, so his fitness is taken on trust. KOALA (5) let his supporters down at Cagnes-sur-Mer with a disqualification but had some good wins before that and will be a danger. KARNA DES BAULTS (4) is returning from a break but is talented and would not be a surprise winner. EVERY TIME WINNER (11) tries a mounted race and could be a danger.

    Summary: A competitive looking race. LITTLE CASH (13) is unbeaten since going barefoot and could add another win to his tally. LYS GEMA (7) has been good of late and would not be a surprise winner. LORD DE VANDEL (6) returned from a break with a victory on the grass and could be a threat to these rivals back on sand. LIBERTANGO (12) remains in good shape and is one of a few more that hod a winning chance in this line-up.

  87. MYSTIQUE LOULOU – Returned to form with a barefoot win in a class F at Feurs over 2850m on 8 March. Remains barefoot and could double up
    Summary: A very open race. MYSTERE DE POULINE (7) faulted last time out at Angers, but she ran better than the bare formline suggests. She could be fitter this time and bounce back to score for Eric Raffin. MYSTIQUE LOULOU (14) raced barefoot when successful last time out, remains barefoot, and is capable of another victory. MACAO MIP (10) is hard to trust but is capable of winning a race of this nature when smart. MAGIC WORLD (3) races barefoot and is another to consider.

    Summary: ENJOY (HUN) (2) was difficult to control on his French debut. If more relaxed this time around, he does look the one to beat in this lucky last race. TOSCANA SOUTHWIND (8) remains in good form and should fight out the finish yet again. A real danger. ITALICA (9) has some fair form of late and could make the frame. JET DES PRES (10) is also holding form and could get into the mix of things this course and distance.

  2. DEVIL’STORY – Two unplaced runs this year, the latter over 1200m at Fontainebleau in a handicap on March 6th. among the leading each-way chances
  3. JERICHO RIDGE – Two unplaced runs, the latter over 1300m at Chantilly in a maiden event on March 23rd. Outside place chance
  4. MANUAE – Unplaced on the one start over 1200m at Fontainebleau on March 13th in a maiden race. Look for an alternative
  5. LE BON DOCTEUR – Two unplaced efforts of late, the latter when 8th at Fontainebleau in a maiden race on March 13th. Others rate higher
  6. NELLIEDONADO – Fair effort when 5th last time over 1400m in a handicap on March 14th at Chantilly, 3rd before that at Deauville in maiden in January. Capable of being competitive
  7. LA PRIMA – Two unplaced runs, the latter over 1300m at Chantilly in a maiden race on February 20th. Has shown talent and can be on the premises
  8. SANCE – Ran with plenty of promise to be 2nd at Limoges in a maiden on March 15th. Capable of making progress and warrants respect
  9. FORTUNA DIAMOND – Unraced flliy by Night Of Thunder, the dam ran once. From a good trainer and racing for the Godolphin operation. The betting market can be the best guide to expected performance
    Summary: NELLIEDONADO (6) ran a respectable race on her handicap debut at Chantilly when making her in mid-March when a close up fifth on the PSF. She was a decent third before that in a maiden and should hold too many aces for the well bred newcomer, FORTUNA DIAMOND (9), who will be well prepared and can be involved on her debut. LA PRIMA (7) has shown ability in her two runs and can have a say in proceedings. DEVIL’STORY (2) looks best of the remainder.

  12. TIMBER LIGHT – Recent success over 2100m at Limoges in a Class 4 race on March 15th. Capable of making the top three at nice odds

  14. XCLUSIVITE – Got off the mark over 1950m at Le Mans in a conditions race on March 20th last time out. Improving and is hard to rule out of the frame
  15. MEAUTIS – Recent 2nd over 1950m in a Class 4 claimer at Le Mans on March 20th when beaten narrowly. Among the leading contenders
  16. WESTMINSTER PILOT – Unplaced last time on March 6th in a Class 3 handicap, a win previously over 3100m at Pornichet on February 18th in a conditions race. In the mix
  17. ONE EYE JACK – Two unplaced efforts this year, the most recent over 2200m in a Class 3 race at Fontainebleau on March 17th. Others rate higher
  18. KALAFA – Two unplaced runs of late, the latter over 2000m at Saint-Cloud in a Class 3 handicap on March 19th. Consider each-way

    Summary: Lightly raced due to several interruptions during his career, PAY TO LEARN (3) made a solid return last season and could go one better on reappearance here. KARLA JET (8) has the benefit of a recent run and should be spot on fitness-wise. EPHESUS (4) returns for a yard in excellent form and commands respect, while dual Quinté+ winner KLIFF BERE (2) is another notable comeback runner.
